Cedar Wood - Tumblr Posts
Hello everyone. I struggled with what to post, but after some months I figured it out. Here's my Ever after high tier list of ships. Its alot, so I'm not going to explain them all. I guess I could explain more detail for each category, like what I mean.
1. BITCHES GET MARRIED: It means I really love the ship and that I could see them being together forever after.
2. They're cool: Means the ship is fine, it's not to bad, and I still have some love for the ship.
3. Eh: Means, I don't see too much for them. Like, the ships aren't bad but I also don't see anything for them.
4. Bleh: It means I can't exactly see anything for these ships, like for example, Alistair x Bunny. The two characters in the ship are fine, but, between the two they don't really have any chemistry together and they aren't too interesting.
5. ERROR: Means, I dislike the ship in general and I see these characters more as friends, or siblings. Like for example, Daring x Apple, I see them more as friends/siblings considering they were really just together because of destiny.
6. I really don't know: It means I don't know where to put them, or I really just don't see anything for them. Like friendship or even romance. Or I'm really unsure of where they should go.
Alright, there you go. Now you know what I mean by each category. I hope you like my tier list as well.
(Update: so, in the ERROR section of this tier list, I won't say every ship I dislike, they wouldnt be my fave but I don't care for them as much. I can't really explain it but with rapple(raven x apple), I actually don't mind the ship, it's an ok ship. Darling x raven(don't know the ship name), I don't mind that ship either. Now that I'm looking back at this post, some of the ships I never really disliked in the first place.)

I have very specific headcanons for Cedar's sexuality and they mean a lot to me and i want to share.
So at some point in one of the books, (i dont remember which and i dont have them with me to reference. yay moving) we see Cedar's life outside of school and her friends and family and town and everything and we see the Blue Fairy who enchanted both her and her father to life.
She talks with the blue fairy about her emotions and how she feels they're ridiculous because she's not actually real, she can't feel real emotions, they're just magic. The blue fairy tells her something along the lines that even if they're made by magic, that doesn't make them any less real.
I view Cedar as being asexual-aromantic. Partially because people like to say that humans are sexual in nature. That something must be wrong with you to not have sexual or romantic feelings.
I feel like Cedar would have that view of herself. Saying that yea, she doesn't like anyone in a romantic sense but when she becomes a real girl, then she will.
But then she does become real. And she breathes for the first time, and feels pain and feels her heart beat in her chest and her hair stand on end and every feeling comes rushing in at once. Except for romantic love. That continues to be something she doesn't feel. And her lack of sexual or romantic feeling doesn't make her any less real or human or deserving of good things, deserving of a happily ever after, like many are led to believe. She just exists. Just as she is. Nothing wrong. Everything as it should be.
OK I KNOW I SHOULD SLEEP BUT I RAISE YOU THIS: Winx Club, Ever After High, and Across the Spiderverse:
Bloom, Apple White, Miles
Stella, Briar Beauty, Lyla
Flora, C.A. Cupid, Pavitr
Musa, Melody Piper, Hobie
Tecna, Cedar Wood, Margo
Aisha, Cerise Hood, Jess
Roxy, Raven Queen, Gwen
I have my reasons about these trios and i WILL rant about them upon request (please tell me to talk about these)
If I had the brain cells and the capacity to sit down long enough, I'd type out multiple in-depth analysis comparing Across The Spider-verse characters and Ever After High characters.
I'd discuss the parallels between each of them as well as their goals and current character arcs.
There'd be predictions for character growth for Beyond The Spider-verse and what we could have had if Ever After High had continued.
But alas I am but a mortal human being with ADHD and autism. So I cannot find the strength or the willpower to type it out.
So it'll sit in my mind for who knows how long. But at the very least if this inspires somebody else to break out of their shell and type this up please do so. (@ me if you do)
I finally have my words to put together, let's go:
Bloom, Apple White, Miles
• Main character of their franchise
• Group-based focus in their fandom (Winx CLUB, Royals/Rebels, Arachkids)
• Corrupted version of themselves seen in their source material (Dark Bloom, Wonderland-Curse Apple White, Miles-42)
• Their love interest is an important character to the plot (Sky being her savior from Dark Bloom, Daring/Darling Charming 'whos the real love interest for Apple?', Gwen being the reason Miles is stuck in Earth-42).
Stella, Briar Beauty, Lyla
• Feminine focus who's not the love interest
• Sassy and confident
• The 'bestie' role/second-in-command to someone (Bloom's bestie, Apple White's 'Best Friend Forever After', Miguel's assistant)
• Beauty is important to them (Stella is obsessed with fashion, Briar is fashion designer, Lyla uses filters in that one scene)
Flora, C.A. Cupid, Pavitr
• Overlooked by other characters (Stella telling Flora she's useless cause she can't bring Mirta back, C.A. Cupid not having her feelings taken seriously, Pavitr being clueless about the 'just another easy day for spiderman')
• Cheerful with a love interest who's important to their story arc (Helia helps Flora earn her charmix, Dexter Charming helps C.A. Cupid come to her senses about romance, Gyatri having her death be Pavitr's cannon event)
• Being from another world (Flora from Lynphea, C.A. Cupid from Monster High, Pavitr from Earth-50101)
Musa, Melody Piper, Hobie
• Music-focused (Musa is the Fairy of Music, Melody is the Daughter of the Pied Piper, Hobie uses Guitar weapon
• Anti-society/anti-rules, restricted by parental/authority figures (Musa's father denying her trying to follow her dreams as a musician, Melody running an underground rave against school rules, Hobie being an anarchist)
Tecna, Cedar Wood, Margo
• Voice (Tecna being robotic/logical, Cedar only able to tell the truth, Margo's voice being 'not real' as only through a hologram)
• Sacrifice is important to story (Tecna's Enchantix sacrifice, Cedar's happily ever after and sacrificing her talking, Margo not influencing the 'go home' machine and sacrificing the multiverse in favour of a friend)
Aisha, Cerise Hood, Jess
• Betrayal is relevant (ditching the Winx, red riding hood story and being betrayed by her sister, turning against miles/hiding her true intentions)
• An additional power/object compared to their allies (Aisha's morphix, Cerise's wolf heritage, Jess' bike)
Roxy, Raven Queen, Gwen
• Manipulated (Wizards of the Black Circle want Roxy to give up her powers, Evil Queen wants Raven to follow her story, Miguel initially forced Gwen to abandon Miles)
• Follows the 'refusal of the call' trope (Roxy is the last fairy on earth but doesn't want to be, Raven is supposed to be the next evil queen but doesn't want to be, Gwen was forced to lie/betray Miles but doesn't want to)
If I had the brain cells and the capacity to sit down long enough, I'd type out multiple in-depth analysis comparing Across The Spider-verse characters and Ever After High characters.
I'd discuss the parallels between each of them as well as their goals and current character arcs.
There'd be predictions for character growth for Beyond The Spider-verse and what we could have had if Ever After High had continued.

The most effective thing about Ever After High is that every student has their own personal struggle that adds another element to just how life-ruining the destiny system is.
Apple is so terrified of what will happen to her if she doesn’t follow her destiny, that she is willing to compromise everyone else’s happiness to make sure it happens. This disregard for other people is only encouraged by the influential adults in her life.
Ashlynn has to be a servant to an abusive family and live knowing that the ultimate end to her supposedly happy ending is dying to set the stage for her daughters traumatic backstory, starting the whole cycle over again with no chance for any of them to escape.
Blondie feels so pressured to fit in to a deeply classist/monarchist society and ashamed of her parentage that she constantly presents a fake version of herself to everyone she knows, even her best friends.
Briar has to spend her whole life waiting for the moment her destiny comes and she falls asleep for a century. She knows that when she’s woken up, she will be forced to marry a boy dozens of years younger than her who she’s never met and live knowing that everyone she ever loved is dead and gone, the very things that she watched cause her mother’s emotional breakdown.
Cedar’s father was so afraid of watching her repeat his mistakes that he overcorrected, making it impossible for her to ever learn lessons for herself. She is also forced to share incredibly personal details with anyone who asks her questions, and can’t be trusted by her friends with any of their secrets, and it’s all because of her father’s past trauma.
Cerise has to hide who she truly is and never gets to see her family together and happy despite the fact that her parents have potentially the most healthy and mutually beneficial marriage in the whole franchise.
Daring was groomed from birth for a destiny that ends up not actually being his at all, leaving him aimless, feeling as though he has no purpose and has wasted his entire life.
Darling is forbidden by patriarchy and destiny to become a knight, the only thing she really wants, and at which she would be better than both of her brothers. She has to hide who she is and what she loves from everyone she knows
Dexter lived his whole life never knowing what his destiny would be but also knowing that whatever it was he’d have to commit to it forever the moment he discovered it at Legacy Day.
Duchess has spent her whole life knowing that the story she’s commited to living out ends in tragedy for her, and then had to watch the very people she’s been jealous of for years because of their seemingly happy endings give up those endings, while Duchess, loyal and rule following Duchess, is still stuck with her tragedy.
Faybelle tries so hard to commit to what she sees at her destiny that she’s never had a real friend in her life. Even still, no one recognizes her for all that effort and all she’s given up to be a suitable villain. Everyone is more afraid of Raven, who doesn’t even want to be evil.
Hunter has to constantly go against his moral compass to fulfill his destined role as a Huntsman and to try and make his father proud of him.
Kitty has been taught over and over again to value her Mother’s approval over all else, even at the expense of her friends. Her destiny is to create mischief, but how much more mischief can a dissolving world take before it’s too much?
Lizzie finds it almost impossible to express love or care for anyone else due to her mothers excessive conditioning that’s nearly akin to brainwashing. The saddest thing might be that her mother is actually, in her own way, trying her best to prepare Lizzie for a world that will only ever see her one way—as a villain. Now she lives in Ever After, princess to a kingdom that might not even exist for much longer, having given up everything for a destiny that may soon be impossible.
Maddie is a refugee forced from her home into a world she barely understands at a tender age. But she cannot express any angst or negative feelings about this circumstance, because to do so would go against her character. She lives in a world obsessed with destiny and stories while not even knowing if she’ll ever be able to return home and live out her story.
Raven is judged by almost everyone around her for her mothers crimes, many of which were required of her by destiny in the first place. She is nearly forced to commit to becoming a tyrannical megalomaniac (and almost falls into it herself, several times) who would be sentenced to lifelong punishment and torture for committing acts that weren’t even her idea in the first place, and the one punishing her would have been the very girl who begged so often for her to stop being so difficult and just follow her destiny.
