Kunikida froze in concern and confusion when he heard what the boy said. “What?”

Children usually did not react this badly when they hear hospital or orphanage unless they had a negative experience. He could understand why the boy could react negatively to the word, orphanage. Even though orphanages are supposed to be a place that cares for children, some orphanages abused their orphans. Atsushi was a good example of that.

But a hospital… Was he scared of needles? But still… a fear of needles should not have this strong of a reaction. He couldn’t help but think back to Yumeno. Yumeno also did not like doctors due to their experiences. Just the thought of an orphanage or doctors abusing a child infuriated him. Children were meant to be protected and mentored, not abused.

“Calm down. I promise you that nobody is going to hurt you.”

If there were adults who mistreated the boy’s trust, gaining his trust would be hard.

@indeliblepromise

“Can you please explain what you mean by earlier? What did the hospital and doctors do to hurt you before?”

it's not that I think gregory's mom didn't care about him but rather that she was young and in a bad situation and so entirely unprepared to take care of a child. she cared but she was scared. she cared but she was miserable. she cared but she couldn't help but want her life back. the older he got the more he was left to his own devices until one day she was gone.

★ — The way in which he's currently being held ( several feet off the ground at that ) makes it impossible for Gregory to escape the man's cold scrutiny. Even so, the boy finds he's subconsciously curling in on himself, arms pulled in towards his chest, legs curled beneath him and shoulders rounding forward as his head practically ducks down into his neck — making himself as small as possible, as if a meek, mild mannered response might aid him somehow.

( he's long since learned that when adults are angry, it's best to keep to yourself as much as possible, lest you make things worse for yourself by talking back. even if he didn't follow his own advice often ).

Gregory feels like a mouse who was smart enough to avoid the trap itself, but not clever enough to look for the thing that set it out in the first place.

He doesn't know. He doesn't know — and that's the scary part. There's still so much that remains unanswered, too many possibilities beyond Gregory's certainty that someone close to the Fazbear restaurants is the start of everything. William Afton had been a suspect, along with what felt like a dozen others.

The man certainly wasn't doing anything to prove his innocence, though.

" .... figured the kitchen would be, uh, too obvious. All the kids would be sneaking in there. But — maybe I got ahead of myself."

Sheepish laugh, and Gregory timidly lifts a single hand towards the man's grip on the back of his shirt, a silent plea to put him down. If he's to be stuck in a predator's den, he'd at least like the opportunity to run.

The question catches him off guard — his parents? Nonexistent, even in his own time. Shock flickers into his expression only for a brief moment ( blink and you'll miss it ). Please, god, don't let him be caught in his own lie.

"They, uh, both work. All day. So they let me come here. We .... live close enough to walk. That's probably why you've never seen them."

𝚏𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚎𝚛𝚜 𝚝𝚠𝚒𝚜𝚝 𝚠𝚒𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚗 𝚜𝚑𝚒𝚛𝚝, 'round his large knuckles in order to hoist the child up in the air. nobody around. clearly he had to be more careful. children are curious, and who knows whether he would have noticed the break in the wall [...] that which was left out of all building plans.

he doesn't look happy. 𝚖𝚒𝚗𝚍 𝚊𝚕𝚒𝚐𝚑𝚝 𝚠𝚒𝚝𝚑 𝚊𝚕𝚕 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚜 𝚑𝚎 𝚠𝚊𝚗𝚝𝚜 𝚝𝚘 𝚍𝚘. fingers tightening around unwashed fabric, as he contemplates. as upper lip jumps. -- his scowling features accompanied by an even lower descent of his eyebrows. though he doesn't look any more than slightly confused, or perhaps annoyed.. further perpetuated as one ridge peaks with a large inhale.

the child is high up off the floor, from the height of william's grasp. what would happen if he just [...] "oh? -- i would have suspected you'd be clever enough to guess the kitchen, first."

he believes the boy as far as he could throw him. that reminds him.. 𝚑𝚎 𝚌𝚘𝚞𝚕𝚍 𝚜𝚕𝚊𝚖 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚕𝚒𝚝𝚝𝚕𝚎 𝚜𝚑𝚒𝚝 𝚒𝚗𝚝𝚘 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚠𝚊𝚕𝚕 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚎𝚗𝚍 𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚋𝚕𝚘𝚘𝚍𝚢 𝚏𝚊𝚌𝚎-𝚘𝚏𝚏 𝚛𝚒𝚐𝚑𝚝 𝚗𝚘𝚠... but it wouldn't be near as enjoyable. without bonnie. without the knife.

the clatter and chatter outside enough to steal his gaze, whilst watching staff pass by the corridor. will clenches his jaw with a visible wince - expression tightening with the burn of his headache. looking from behind his red-tinted glasses. one hand on his hip, while he shifts his weight.

he twists the child to view him.

the boy suspected him. 𝚑𝚘𝚠 𝚌𝚘𝚞𝚕𝚍 𝚑𝚎 𝚗𝚘𝚝? sniffing about back here. was that his paranoia talking? or.... "now that you mention it." [...] he tilts his head, with his still bouncing lip tilted the opposite direction. upward into a lopsided, subtle smirk. if he wanted information, he'd just have to play unfair... "--- where are your parents? surely they're looking for you, by now."

(tw: child abuse)

the end part of "you're not going to know where you went wrong, I'm telling you but you're not going to believe me" is scarily reminiscent of my own parents (they werent transphobic but were still psychically and emotionally abusive)

funny enough my therapist herself called my mom abusive.

my mom, the wise woman she is, decided to prove my therapist wrong...

by screaming at me and beating me more.

Early pornographic magazines, such as Playboy, Hustler, and Penthouse desensitized society to pornographic images and making it mainstream, which made videos less outragous and led directly to the demand for more hardcore content. It continues now in 2022 to get more extreme. Violence against women in porn is not only in high demand, but is also so normalized that people are no longer ashamed of having porn addictions and speaking on them publicly. We are desensitized to the brutalization of women

Save the Children International
Save the Children report on Palestinian children in Israeli military detention

Palestinian children in the Israel military detention system face physical and emotional abuse, with four out of five (86%) of them being beaten, and 69% strip-searched, according to new research by Save the Children. Nearly half (42%) are injured at the point of arrest, including gunshot wounds and broken bones. Some report violence of a sexual nature and some are transferred to court or between detention centres in small cages, the child rights organisation said.

something about aba therapy that i feel is worth noting:

aba therapists are the only type of therapists in the united states that are not required to have a college degree in order to practice. the vast majority of aba therapists i’ve met don’t have one.

then what are the requirements, you may ask?

be at least 18. have a high school diploma. complete a few hours of general training.

that’s it.

they’re also allowed to teach your child literally whatever they want. i saw a video of someone the other day who was put thru aba as a child. they were obsessed with the color blue, so what did the aba therapist do? gave every child in their class except them a blue piece of paper for weeks until they stopped crying about it. aka, until they were too numb to the emotional pain of being left out to react anymore.

i guess the end goal was to make them…not like…the color blue anymore? like, seriously. what was the point of that???

they teach children to smile on command even when they don’t feel happy. they teach autistic children not to stim - something that has been proven not only beneficial but necessary for autistic people’s wellbeing.

they can withhold water, food, or affection from your child until the child complies with whatever behavior they want them to complete. i wish i was joking.

this is literal child abuse.

the only therapy that does not require a degree to practice, abusive as hell, manipulative, they are literally allowed to teach your child whatever the hell they want…and yet it’s also the only therapy for autistic children that is covered by most insurance companies.

make it make sense.

pumpkin pie hcs now because i said so:

the pumpkin npc from the cheesemine event is her uncle

she had a parent who was…….abusive to say the least

literally isolated her inside their manor because of her dark magic being “freaky”, completely robbed her of any semblance of childhood

also forced her into male clothes and refused to acknowledge her when she tried to express she wasn’t a boy

in all this time her only distracting was sewing, she had a doll she clung to as her only comfort that was one of her first attempts at making a toy since her parent wouldn’t give her any

but her parent threw it in the fireplace one day when they found Pumpkin’s attempts to make a dress

that was also the awakening of Pumpkin’s magic manifesting in Pompon as instead of turning into ash the doll just../grew and did what nay toy would do when they see their owner being yelled at by an irate parent i think

yeah so anyway a distressed, blood covered Pumpkin Pie and giant doll thing(Pompon) ended up outsider of her uncle’s house in the dead of night, he was hella freaked out by this but let them stay regardless and used his money to cover up his own sibling’s murder so his nephew(niece) didn’t get in trouble

he didnt actually want them tho, due to like the whole sibling killing even if his sibling was the worst, he was also scared the doll would turn on him too so he took Pumpkin Pie shopping for new clothes and some toys then like

took her to a place he knew she would be well taken care of, Cookieland, and just kinda leaves and doesn’t come back. ever.

Unicorn found her waiting outside the park with a bag and Pompon(who has already shrinked down since there were no threats around)

Pumpkin wasn’t keen on like, leaving since she was told by her uncle he was gonna come back and was generally Not Ok with talking to an adult stranger due to a lot of things but mainly the isolation her parent did to her, Unicorn didnt try to force it and just gave her blankets and food until they figured something out

and thats it for now because im tired, if anyone wants a pt 2 ask me for it because there’s more after this <3

Should be:

Everyone deserves to live, especially victims.

Abortion doesn't save children from abuse, it tells abusers that the only abuse they can legally get away with is killing their child in utero.

Roman Can Feel Most Unsettled When It Comes To Being Hugged. Hes Fine With Being Touched, Especially

Roman can feel most unsettled when it comes to being hugged. He’s fine with being touched, especially on his own terms during acts of intimacy and other sensual games but platonic shows of affection and comfort are something he really struggles to contend with. His parents were far from being affectionate people and when they were, it was only during public events to show off what a ‘wonderful’ and ‘caring’ family they were. Roman can’t help but freeze when hugged, finding the sensation alien to his senses and difficult to accept.

OOC// What are some things that make Roman feel sad?

image

Few things make Roman Sionis feel sad. Years ago, it might have been a different story; he was a very lonely child for the most part whose parents made it crystal clear to him how unwanted he was, how much harder he made their lives and berated him constantly for how he couldn’t even begin to live up to their lofty expectations. It wasn’t much better elsewhere; Roman had few friends even amongst the other children of Gotham’s upper class families, a little too ‘odd’ and cursed with no filter to be able to truly fit in. Fortunately there were a few positive influences during this time. A few employees hired to take care of the family household and chores treated Roman well enough, caring more about the child than his own parents did. It was the chauffeur who realized he’d gone missing during one particular party and ventured out into the forest to bring him back when he’d been bitten by a rabid raccoon, though had been threatened by Mr. and Mrs. Sionis to not speak about the incident or else lose her job. Receiving so little genuine consideration throughout his life has long since burnt out Roman’s ability to feel sadness, because if nobody ever felt sorry for him then why the fuck should he feel the same about anything (or anyone) else? He’s older now, capable of looking after himself and everything he’s got is entirely his own doing. He doesn’t need empathy, to give or receive and frankly, such feelings are only weaknesses to exploit in Gotham’s crime-ridden underbelly where everybody’s out to get you. On rare occasions, Roman will notice a child who is not happy, clearly not loved or cared for by their parent/s at all. It’s a stark reminder as to how he once was, a haunting memory of how he’d once been and had nobody in his corner. For the briefest of moments he’ll feel the sharp, painful sting of sadness, memories of times he’d thought he’d long since gotten over... until familiar rage overcomes him, wanting nothing more than to -lash out- at the closest thing. To Roman, anger is much more familiar and preferrable to grief.

💭 + parenthood?

Nothing scares the shit out of Roman more than the idea of becoming a parent. He has so many issues thanks to his own parent’s neglectful and even abusive treatment that the very thought of becoming responsible for a little person is something he wants as little to do with as possible. It’s one thing if his partner has children from a previous relationship... it’s not ideal but Roman can handle it, making sure no harm comes to the child as a result of their parent’s ties to him at the very least and obtain more than enough (legal) resources to ensure they’re able to receive a decent education once they’re of age. Actually being a parent is a completely different story and something that quite frankly terrifies him. Roman knows he’s violent, that he’s loud and liable to lash out with the cruellest words anybody could think of - let alone a loving father, making him most unsuitable at handling young people in any way whatsoever. As far as he’s concerned, an absent parent is better than an abusive one and he’ll take as many precautions as possible to ensure he doesn’t end up becoming one himself.

When Roman contracted rabies as a child, his health declined quickly once symptoms set in. Instead of taking her child to hospital, Mrs. Sionis locked him inside his bedroom, choosing instead to go out to a party with her husband as so not to be late. Delirious with fever and pain, Roman somehow managed to crawl to his bathroom, filling the tub with cold water despite his fear and sitting in it for the entire night. His parents didn’t come home until after the following day, having forgotten all about their child’s plight.
