Darth Malak - Tumblr Posts
On Dantooine:
Bastila *while training with Revan*: You may be able to stop Malak...
Amnesiac Revan: Who says I want to?
'I love you, I love me a lot, wait Which one I love better? Better off not saying...' Revan
'I was learning how to hate you, Revan. And in the end, I succeeded.' Darth Malak (on the Leviathan or Star Forge)
On Dantooine:
Amnesiac Revan *speaking to Bastila and the rest of the Ebon Hawk crew*: Of course, I'm the best candidate to defeat Darth Malak! He'll be astonished when I demonstrate how I speak Wookiee and masterfully pick locks. I'm sure it'll blow his mind and he'll surrender immediately!
I fell for someone new But she's just another girl that looks like you What's love if it's not true? It's just another girl that looks like you
The great thing about Revan and Malak as a ship is that the two of them get to experience the person they love warping into someone unrecognizable, either through force-corruption or memory loss.
On the Leviathan:
Darth Malak to amnesiac Revan: Don't you dare look at me as if you don't remember anything about me!
Darth Revan: uses mandalorian mask;
Darth Malak: has a replacement jaw that covers part of his face;
Darth Vader: uses life support mask;
Darth Nihilus: uses mask;
Darth Sion: his face is so disfigured you can't tell what his real face was like;
Darth Sidius: his face is so disfigured you can't tell his real face was like, and before that he used deceit to mask himself;
Darth Traya: used lies and betrayal to mask herself and her objective until the end.
Every sith wears a mask to hide their true, hurt and scared self: it represents their lies, the way they refuse to acknowledge themselves and how they hide their "weakness" and shame.
I can't put in words how much I love this detail and how it contrast with the Jedi who always have their faces out in the open.
The reason why Malgus's attack on the Coruscant temple didn't fracture the Order the same way Anakin's did is because in the time of the Old Republic, there were multiple temples. This is also why Malak's attack of the Dantooine temple didn't destroy the Jedi as a whole either.
As a note, by the time of the prequel trilogy, a lot of public sentiment was turned against Jedi (probably due to Baneite politicking behind the scenes). This meant recruitment was down, so it was harder to sustain presences elsewhere, although there was a branch on Correlia (the Green Jedi, I think).
The aforementioned negative views on the order is also why Palps was able to get away with genocide so easily.
What if Revan had an identical twin they used as a decoy. What if they had a Force Bond like no other and were separated because of the fear surrounding their attachments to one another. What if they became a Jedi Sentinel, sworn to fight anything and everything dark side related yet still talked with Revan through their bond because you could never truly separate them, even in death. What if their Bond was a secret they never told anyone, not even their closest allies and friends. What if the Jedi Council sent them away to the farthest reaches of the galaxy to make sure neither knew they had a twin so they wouldn't be tempted by the dark. What if Revan felt the echoes of their pain as the Outer Rim burned from the Mandalorian crusades and they fought to protect every sentient they came across. What if Revan gave their twin a matching mask so the one known as Revan could be in two places at once. What if they were a mirror in the Force, echoing Revan's thoughts and emotions slowly making Revan aware of the person they were turning into. What if when Revan fell, they remained in the light yet still fought with the Sith because their dedication was to Revan and Revan alone. What if they were the one in the Leviathan when Darth Malak fired in their ship. What if he sensed their death and not Revan's, because they had never been without their other half. What if that did so much damage to Revan's mind that it was easy for the Jedi to rewrite their memory. What if they reached out from beyond the grave, slowly restoring Revan's mind because you could never truly separate them, even in death.
Help I have too many thoughts
I apologize in advance to the Op for the notifications they're about to get with me scrolling through their Kotor tags.
Ah yes, my comfort characters – two jedi knights with something deeply wrong with them.
I have been trying to get out of art block by trying to make less stress-inducing artwork. I just want to focus on what’s fun for me, rather than what’s popular or good. This is another example of taking pose inspiration from pokemon-trainer sprites.
Revan’s Escapades, of nearly getting her friends killed, started long before the war.
My headcanon of Revan’s birth name is Reva. I find it really funny that Malak was once named Alek, and so it’s even funnier if Revan also just added one letter to her name and thought “yeah, the Council will never find us now!” (I also headcanon male Revan as named Evan, same principal.)

Every so often I have an cursed idea in the middle of the night and absolutely need to draw it.
Edit: The background is an edited screenshot of Malak's ship. I assume Malak and Revan had similar flagship models.

I love depicting characters as normal before going through a corruption arc. It really adds to the pain. This is young Alek (Malak) and Reva (Female Revan). Their outfits are sort of “clubbing versions” of their later Sith Costumes.

Knights of the Old Republic is first, and foremost, a comedy.
I think Malak had a nice couple of months before he realized Revan was pretty much un-killable. She’s like a cockroach.

[Based on this original post.] I can’t believe an account for a tumblr heritage post is still up.
I was tempted to draw Malak pre-jaw loss to show this as why Revan decided he should lose his lower-half-of-his-face privileges.
