I can't help but feel that when Sephiroth said, "Those who look with clouded eyes see nothing but shadows." It was a final plea for him. Like he sees nothing but shadows because he was the one who looked with clouded eyes at the information from how he was born at Nibelhiem mansion as a nightmare ish monster. And he could've been hoping since Aerith is more in tuned to others that she'd see it or hint something for Cloud but Aerith is hell bent on telling Cloud Sephiroth is pure evil because she may remember what happened in the original timeline? And also in Dissidia where Cecil says Sephiroth has sorrow in his eyes. It just makes it more real that he'd say it.
Todays thinky thought: the Soldier first class fan clubs
I've got to be honest I need more fan fics where the fan clubs are hard at work with fan art, fics and edits. And look I know Crisis Core is set in the very early 2000 and thus the internet (if we are super imposing actual historical timelines over FFVII timelines) would be in its very early infancy at this point come on man.
Give me Cloud being aware of, and participating in, the fandom;
give me Genesis moogling himself out of morbid curiosity and getting weirdly misha collins level invested in the fan fictions written about him.
Give me Angeal being shown mildly explicit fan art of himself on a talk show and going so red the host is worried he'll pass out.
Give me zack having secret social media accounts to lurk in his own fandom and to collect black mail content for the other firsts.
Give me Sephiroth being blissfully unaware of how unhinged the silver elite are about him until he meets cloud who is all like "oh you sweet summer child"
Give me Genesis and Zack live tweeting Clouds dramatic reading of a fandom wide notorious Y/N x Sephiroth fic that had both Sephiroth and Angeal curled up in agonising embarresment while Gen is pissing himself laughing and Zack has fallen off the chair after snorting beer through his nose.
Give me Clouds social Media then blowing up and him becoming internet famous as the "normal guy that hangs around with the trinity elite and Zack fair". He gets so many questions and while he respects the boys privacy he does get them to answer some of the less prying ones.
Give me Hojo trying to sue a really popular fanfiction site for copy right infringment on the Sephiroth trademark and Sephiroth himself shutting Hojo down.
Give me Genesis being asked to talk at a convention and him getting so much fan art and gifts they have to hire a van to pack it into.
Give me Zack doing a running commentary on some of the footage edits on youtube that he has seen and likes. "dude that one with sick beat behind it was so well editted I'm gunna have to do more acrobatic stunts for you guys!"

Things That Happen During Monopoly
• Angeal is elected the banker at the start of the game because he's the most responsible. Angeal then proceeds to miscount the money and acquiring an incomprehensible wealth that he refuses to part with.
Angeal: I never miscount money. I'm excellent at math. This distribution is as fair as it could be.
Cloud: I literally only have $1.
Angeal: Your poverty isn't my problem.
• Genesis has rolled "Go to jail" every turn so far and the board is looking very flippable. Sephiroth finds his misery hilarious.
• Sephiroth doesn't believe in paying rent.
Zack: Sephiroth, this isn't fair! You're using my property, you have to pay the fee!
Sephiroth: By charging me money for a place to live, you're perpetuating the cycle of wealth inequality and profiting off of my misfortune. It's a wretched world we live in, where those with wealth continue to accumulate more while the poor struggle to get by on their honest salaries.
Zack: IT'S MONOPOLY MONEY.
• Someone lost the dog token so Angeal spends 10 minutes ranting about how they're all irresponsible, failing to notice that Sephiroth has it on top of his little house.
• Angeal bankrupts Genesis, who spends the next 8 minutes cursing Angeal's bloodline and threatening to sue him IRL.
• Genesis lands in jail again. He is unfortunately broke, so he has to stay in jail.
Genesis: I don't understand! Where are all the get out of jail free cards??
Sephiroth: I wouldn't know.
• Sephiroth is hoarding them all in the pockets of his coat.
• Zack is hoarding houses so no one else can buy them.
• Cloud is watching Angeal actively steal money from the bank, but no one is doing anything because Genesis is looking for the get out of jail cards and Zack and Sephiroth are having a bidding war that's starting to sound more like an argument.
• Genesis sees a get out of jail card fall from Sephiroth's pocket.
• Genesis flips the board.
• Game over.
Final Fantasy 7/Crisis Core As Onion Headlines
Shinra decides to promote their soldier program by having the firsts do a car wash. Wet tiddies for days.
• Sephiroth completely misunderstands the assignment, as this is the first time he's being tasked by Shinra to do something that doesn't involve battle or an insane amount of paperwork. He's eager to perform well and wash the cars professionally.
• Genesis, instead of scrubbing, is showing off his body and posing for his fans. Sephiroth is unsatisfied with his performance. Sephiroth sprays him with the hose.
• Angeal is really confused by the gawking and staring....? He's just trying to do his job and wash the car properly, and it's hot outside! He has to keep his shirt off. The sight of Angeal's golden skin and abs exposed to the glistening sunlight makes people go wild. He stops his scrubbing for 0.4 seconds to wave to his fans. Sephiroth sees that he stopped working. Sephiroth sprays him with the hose.
• Angeal confiscates the hose from Sephiroth and hands into Zack instead.
• Zack loves hose duty! Now he can have loads of fun spraying the fans and cooling them down.
• Sephiroth diligently scrubs a car's driver side window. Two seconds later Genesis appears and draws a heart in the soap suds to flirt with the driver. Sephiroth sees that Genesis has besmirched the window he just cleaned. Sephiroth is enraged.
• Zack accidentally sprays water directly into a car. Angeal rushes over and takes the hose from him—can he not trust anyone with the hose? Fine, he'll take hose duty.
• Angeal looks over and Sephiroth is in the process of lecturing Genesis on his poor work ethic and lack of consideration for their car wash.
• Angeal thinks Sephiroth has to loosen up a bit, so he sprays him with the hose.
• Sephiroth sees this as an act of defiance and tries to grab the hose from Angeal. Angeal passes it to Genesis. The three of them are now getting 0 work done and are instead chasing each other around trying to keep the hose away from each other.
• Lazard shows up to see how it's going, he sees Zack washing the cars alone and using a water spell to rinse the vehicles.
Lazard: Where's the hose?
Zack: I'm meeting up with them later.
Lazard:
During a mission with Genesis and Zack, Sephiroth got hit (Genesis was the one who throw it) by a time materia and turn into Babyroth but he still has his memories. Zack and Genesis was cooing and teasing about how adorable their General is until Babyroth flashes them his very, very sharp set of teeth.
Uh oh.
Zack and Genesis are panicking as they rush back to the headquarters with babyroth, unfortunately Angeal sees them.
Angeal: Guys, WHY do you have a baby??
Zack: Uhh....good question! Isn't that a good question, Genesis? Wouldn't you like to answer his question?
Genesis: Zack and I fell in love, eloped and have adopted a child.
Zack: WHAT?
*Angeal faints*
Zack: ANGEAL!

Genesis left baby Sephiroth in a play pen in his office while Angeal beats his ass, Cloud comes by looking for Genesis and stumbles upon the baby
Cloud: Aww, cute kid! Are you in here all alone?
Sephiroth: ...
Cloud: Don't worry, I'll watch over you.
Sephiroth: ...
Cloud: Come to think, you look a little bit like Sephiroth.
Sephiroth: ...
Cloud: Oh my god blink twice if you're Sephiroth.
*Sephiroth blinks twice*
Cloud remembers a spell from the materia training Genesis has been putting him through, he then uses it to turn Sephiroth back to normal.
Sephiroth: That was a dreadful experience. My parents were Genesis and Zack.
Cloud: At least you had parents this time.
Sephiroth: ...........
