charlotte is one of the most popular and influential bloggers of the last several years on this site. she's been consistently putting out nothing but good vibes, to the extent that i'd credit her with changing the site's culture a bit. part of the broader trend away from constant negativity. there's literally no excuse for deleting her account
Terminating someone as kind and inoffensive as charlotte is a clear message just like all these other terminations to all the other transfems on this site that you are next. It doesn’t matter if you stay out of drama and are a good friend, just by simply existing you are incurring the wrath of those who don’t want your kind around. Whether this message is more from tumblr staff or people mass reporting behind the scenes it doesn’t matter. You can be pushed out of any space that deems you've made a mistake at the drop of a hat.
@staff @humans please show the exact offending post where tumblr user @charlottan engaged in quote "targeted abuse or harassment" or "targeted sexual harassment". If the report was user generated, surely the reported post was flagged. What exactly was she deleted for?
@humans Charlotte's ban was clearly the result of bad faith reporting. She more than deserves her blog back.
I think I have two more things to say about this.
This isn't just a case of tumblr staff transphobia this is more than likely (not confirmed yet but I'm fairly confident this is accurate, my point remains regardless) a result of targeted mass reporting by folks who saw a single innocuous joke about incest which was deleted later and decided Charlotte was a horrible person who deserved punishment. The end lesson shouldn't only be "Lets kill Matt Mullenweg with hammers" but also "Trans women are forced to live in a constant state of fear of being labelled as One Of The Bad Trannies by societal forces which perceive trans women as aggressive sexual perverts and institutional forces which give easy access for bad actors to punish them. I need to analyze my behavior in this pattern and be aware if I am working with or against this problem."
Charlotte was a super kind soul but this would still be unwarranted and awful if it happened to any trans asshole. I support trans women who suck, I support trans women who are annoying, I support trans women who are scary, I support trans women who I can't stand, I support trans women who are lame and bitchy and pieces of shit, I support trans women who are aggressive or off-putting or mean. Trans women who are assholes deserve the same rights and privileges of any other asshole on the planet.

Anyway for those of you not enmeshed with tumblr’s transgender mycelial network, or otherwise on its periphery, basically every damn day of pride month another couple trans bloggers have gotten wiped, regardless of blog content, following, blog age, anything, and it shows no sign of slowing. In general it seems to be hitting transfems more liberally, but transmasc and nonbinary friends of mine have also been wiped for their steadfast solidarity or Just Cause. There’s also been an uptick in posts being almost immediately marked mature by community tags for no discernible reason beyond “Posting While Trans”. This is a time to stick together like goddamn epoxy resin. Vocally defend and support each other. Block and ignore any wretched cunt spreading callouts or stirring up shit. Make sure you have a way to talk to your friends beyond this site. Don’t buy badges, don’t blaze, cold shoulder the fuck out of mod blogs, and give voice to your discontent.

I only joined Tumblr in 2021 cuz most other platforms were becoming way too unpractical and unlikeable to use. Istg if Tumblr joins literally almost every other website by removing reblog chains than I will MUTINY
Tumblr reblog chains are in danger.
It seems that the staff is actually going to go forward with their decision to remove reblog chains, where reblogs will basically work like regular comments on other websites.
This doesn't just make the site completely unusable, it removes the soul of the community that has managed to build up here over the years, and that I'm so happy to have recently joined.
It makes impossible the creation of great posts where many people build up a single thing, until it is a gem of expressed human creativity.
There will be no more world heritage posts, no more messing around with your mutuals, no posts worth remembering.
There will be no more Tumblr, and the Tikblr or TumbTube or whatever monstrosity is born from its corpse will soon die, as is probably the best. And then there will never be another place like this on the internet, no place anymore to run to, no more fun, no more community.
I recommend a simple course of action. When these changes get imposed upon us, stop using Tumblr. Get your mutuals' discords, your favourite artists' websites, and leave. If the Tumblr we have once known returns, we well too. If not, better let it die quickly than suffer a long and painful decline.
I beg you to reblog this, for the more people see it, the higher chanses are for this to work.
And add something, so we can show them what Tumblr is really for.

For everyone who hasn’t seen it yet, Tumblr is officially selling userdata to train AI on, to prevent this go to your blog settings -> visibility -> prevent third party sharing. This is BLOG SPECIFIC so do it for each, also, because staff is extra scummy, it is not visible on mobile go to a desktop or website if you are on mobile.
