ugh. it would be too obvious. tobio couldn't hide the blatant staring when he sees you and wakatoshi's oblivious to it but takes notice on how his kouhai and teammate is spot on when it comes to you.

starting with the photoshoot of a magazine wanting them to be the cover including bokuto and hinata in their national team uniforms. while the two were really adorable with their toothy grins and the infectious smile, it shows cause they have these unique personalities. it also applies to the two volleyball idiots besides them. the smiles were rather forced and creepy..... if you didn't know them personally and that brought you laughter behind the cameras.

your little giggles can be heard. tapping the editor in his back at the photo. shaking his head at the photo and he declares it to be good for a page and would later take another one. he can't really tell those two how to smile naturally and was that smile even natural? he also can't say cause he's too intimidated with them two. ushijima and kageyama isn't really known to smile.

bokuto got called for some urgent pr meeting. leaving hinata, kageyama and your fiance at the photoshoot. the photographer decided that it's best for them three to post and the problem with kageyama and ushijima smiling is the center of his worry. how can they make them look good at the cover and there comes you. calling them behind cameras.

“hey, toshi! tobio! smile!” showing them with your smile from behind the photographer. the two stoic pro-athletes look at you and they melted at the sight of you beaming up a smile at them. their faces relaxed and a smile directed to you is given then followed by a flash from the camera. you can hear the photographer and the editor muttering. something about “good grief” and “finally”. satisfied at the outcome and the smiles of kageyama and ushijima were finally pleasing to them.

the following set ups and the poses were all good that it's natural to see them at ease. their confidence and the air of being the best and strongest player are felt in the picture that even pumping a fist in the air is incredibly praise for being that easy and so when it was time to wrap up. you approach the two. placing a chaste kiss to your fiance's cheek which he returned a kiss to your lips and wrapping his arms around your plush waist possessively.

greeting the setter, kageyama froze as if his body commanded for it to turned stiff when you spoke to him. your voice sending shivers down his spine and he's staring at you intently. studying the movements of your face and he can see the every curve and tick of it.

his cheeks turning red and it was hard to control the blood flowing when you're so close and it didn't help that your soon-to-be husband and his teammate is finding his reaction to be suspicious. “are you okay, kageyama?” ushijima asks him and he's nodding his head off before excusing himself.

the adler's setter closer the door behind him and he sees himself staring at his reflection at the mirror of his dressing room. he imagines that it was you who was there for him not ushijima, not for anyone, just him. he may be an idiot who can't quite grasp at others own feelings but he also feels things that you do to him and he's certain it's not a harmless crush to him anymore.

the matches hurts too. he seeks your presence and when you're near you just knock the breath out of him without you knowing. how could you. you got only eyes for ushijima and the ace also.

would that be same if he was in ushijima's place? basking in your very presence that you couldn't care what the others may think and see and be lost in each other's presence. that it's enough to lift one's spirits and love each other or what it might be.

cause for the first time, kageyama discovered that losing a match isn't the same as yearning for someone who doesn't feel the same.

okay but third year Kageyama, Hinata and Yachi realizing they're actually Tsukishima's friends

Hinata freaking out because he can't find a black pen before a big test and Tsukishima wordlessly handing him two spares (in case one is almost dry) and telling him to smarten up but not actually making a big deal about it.

Yachi going over to his house to study with him and Yamaguchi and having a genuinely good time and yeah Tsukki makes fun of the bow she has in her hair but he also laughs at her jokes so... they end up playing Mario Party until like 1 am and he doesnt even complain about it.

Tsukishima showing up at Kageyama's house looking really annoyed and saying his brother is home for the holidays and is pestering him about college and the future and hey, do you want to go throw a ball around?

Kageyama, Yachi and Hinata all receive a birthday gift on time that year, neatly wrapped, and even if theyre simple gifts they're all *real* gifts and not one of them is a joke gift or a prank and they have to host a meeting to go through all of the options of why Tsukki's behaviour has changed until Hinata realizes what's happening and starts shrieking because FUCK YEAH I DID IT. TAKE THAT SUCKER. GET FRIENDED.

For the few months after Hinata's birthday where he was 18 and Kageyama was still 17 everytime they kissed or talked about dates and romance-couple shit during practice Tsukishima would just yell at the top of his lungs "SO I GUESS HINATA IS A FUCKING GROOMER NOW"

Kenma is so fucking good at math (without even trying it's kinda unfair) so he tried to tutor Kageyama and Hianta once and it just ended with Kenma giving up, Hinata almost on the verge of tears and Kageyama bright red

The young girl confessed,putting a small,shy smile on her face while staring at her classmate's dark blue eyes.She never thought this moment would come.She never thought she would find the courage to make a move on the most famous first year in the school.She had no idea how she ended up here,in front of Kitagawa Daiichi's gym,to tell her crush that she's into him,but she did,and that was all that mattered.

She never expected him to say yes.She never expected him to even listen to her either,but...here he was,looking directly into her eyes. And this was nice,but it could have been better if the look in his eyes was something else.

Something that wouldn't give away what he was about to say next.

"Im sorry...im not interested in dating"

She never expected him to say yes...

Yet it still hurt her,and the boy did notice it.Not that he did anything to make it less hurtfull,though.

That was the only interaction between Kageyama and you. You weren't in the same class,nor you were in the same club.He didn't even know your name properly,so he didn't really care about what effect his answer had on you.Nobody could ever blame him,because they all knew that he only had eyes for volleyball;besides,

How could he start a relationship with some random girl he barely knew,who just happened to be in the same school as him?

Though it did concern him a little when the daily milk bottle that magicly appeared in his locker was gone since that day till the end of the year,and that was when he realised that it was you who used to get him a milk and a cheering note,which made him feel better a bit.

Not that he was in short of money for buying milk-no,it just that...

It made him feel good knowing that someone cares about him beside himself.

After a short amount of time,he slowly forgot about you,and the notes you left for him,telling him how well he's doing and how he should make some time for himself.He forgot about the feeling of being loved and being cared for,

And maybe that was the reason why he got so distant with his teammates and lost the ability of trust.

He never really thought about you after that day,but he kinda missed the warm feeling he used to feel in his chest when he was reading your notes.

And he never thought that he would see you again in such a stupid way.

He was late for his damn Literature class and he was running like he was some starivng cheetah following his prey,but instead of the prey, he crashed into you,

And suddenly the face he never really looked at became the most beautiful thing he's ever seen.

Your hair was a bit longer than before,and you weren't trying to avoid his gaze or panic around him,like you used to do back in junior high.Your eyes were shining from the accident and You looked...

Strong,and badass.

"Oh,Kageyama-kun?what are you doing here?"

He shaked his head after remaining silent for a few seconds,and tried not to lose his cool againts a girl that meant nothing to him "I'm...attending this school"

"Really?I didn't know that! Thought you might wanna go to a powerhouse school like Shiratorizawa!" You answered,while putting a cocky smile on your face,noticing the shock he was going through.

"Yeah...They turend me down"

"Well...sorry...anyway,it was nice meeting you again,but i gotta go now! Bye!"

You got up and waved your hand at him while you were running towards your class,feeling a slight bit of pain in your chest because of the lie you had just told him.

but about the part where you didnt know he was in Karasuno.

Kurahara reminds me of Kageyama. Not only does he look like Kageyama, he acts like him too and it’s adorable, I’m on episode 11 and ooo we love the character development 😌
