Hogwarts Express p.1 | BTS Hogwarts AU

Namjoon had finally settled down at an empty compartment. He sat at the window seat, looking left to see his parents trying to spot him too. He opened the window and stuck out as much as he could to wave goodbye with a toothless smile, showing his dimples to them. It would be the last time in a long time that they see his real life dimples.

The train jerked forward and slowly began to leave the station. Many kids became anxious that they did not get to wave bye to their parents, so they run to the nearest window. Many little kids crowded into Namjoon’s compartment and all tried to shove their arms out of the small window to say bye. Namjoon was still taller than most of the kids there and could still see his parents above all the other little heads. Was he peeved still? Hell yeah.

After the train left the train station, the kids filed out, clearly not wanting to stay around this tall nerd with a smile long gone. He finally let out a breath and took out a book from his carry on.

Seokjin passed by many compartments, there were so many kids in each one, already getting to know each other. As easy as it was for him to be friendly, there was something about joining a group of people who were already friends, without the need to have him barge in and force himself into the group.

He came up to the compartment with this tall boy, quietly reading in the compartment. No one else was in there with him. It seemed like a good idea to settle here. The boy seemed quiet and mature, someone Seokjin could get along with through the trip to Hogwarts.

Seokjin knocked on the door and the boy looked up and nodded. Seokjin gave a small smile and waved as he entered in.

“May I sit here?” Namjoon slowly nodded again. Duh, that’s why he was nodding.

Seokjin sat across from Namjoon and tilted his head to glance at Namjoon’s book about Magical Theory. This kid must have at least one parent who was a witch or wizard. And any kid who was studying up on Magical Theory before he even got to the school grounds…

“My name is Seokjin. What’s yours?”

“Namjoon.” Seokjin’s doe-eyed features told Namjoon that he expected a little more introduction. Would he give it to him?

“I’m a pureblood. That means both my parents are witch and wizard.” Namjoon started out.

“That’s cool! Me too.” Namjoon gave short answer responses for a while and so Seokjin realized that he wanted to have some peace and quiet. Seokjin humbly obliged…until the trolley came along.

“Anything you want from the trolley, dears?” Seokjin jumped up faster than Namjoon could read the next sentence. Seokjin took about three of everything.

Namjoon raised his eyebrows when the trolley witch moved along and Seokjin laid out the whole of his inventory on his seat, organizing like his own sweet shop. Seokjin turned to look up at Namjoon with a smile, “What would you like?” Namjoon smiled, finally showing his dimples for the first time since the train took off.

The rest of the time, Namjoon and Seokjin got to know each other more over the snacks. Namjoon was given one of everything, and shared equally the odd number of the snacks.

Hogwarts Express p.2 | BTS Hogwarts AU

Jimin sat down at an empty compartment. He should probably find friends, but as a child who didn’t have magical parents, there’s really nothing he could go on as far as what the social conventions in the wizarding world were. He would probably want to work that out first; maybe when he gets to the school.

He watched in childlike amazement as he watched the scenery pass by. He’s never been on a train before.

He decides that he should probably explore the train, he opened up his door and that’s when there was a whoosh!

A child practically flew in. If Jimin wasn’t quick enough to move aside, he would have been accidentally pushed against the door hinges. The child slid the door shut as hard as he could, and was giggling with a surprisingly deep voice as he threw himself down onto the floor and hid underneath the seat.

He grabbed the first thing he saw to cover him, which were Jimin’s legs. He had Jimin stand in front of the seat so no one would notice the little child in black on the floor.

Jimin didn’t ask and absentmindedly watched the door as kids scurried past, glancing through every door they passed by. The boy’s actions were all too familiar, the same actions as Jimin executed whenever he pulled harmless pranks

After a while, Jimin moved away and sat on the seat across from the child. The child finally got out from his hiding spot and sat up on the seat.

The boy had such a round head and the hair to match. He had a rectangular smile and couldn’t stop laughing, trying to get rid of the rush he had.

“What happened?” Jimin finally asked.

“I transfigured someone’s suitcase full of clothes into tadpoles, and then I accelerated their growth.” Taehyung doubled over in laughter and Jimin broke out into laughter too.

“Aren’t you the same age as me? That should mean that this is your first year! How did you learn how to do that?” Jimin asked as he tried to calm down.

“I’m a half blood. My mother was a Ravenclaw. I learned the spell from her books.” What the heck is a Ravenclaw?

“I take it then, you’re muggleborn.” Taehyung stated his question.

“What’s that?” Jimin asked. Taehyung smiled and nodded, having his guess confirmed.

“No magical parents. You were born from muggles, non-magic folk.” Taehyung explained. Jimin scratched the back of his head, “Yes, I guess I am muggleborn then.”

“That’s cool. I don’t mind.” Taehyung shrugged.

“Do people normally mind that?” Jimin asked nervously.

“Some, not most. Most of that prejudice is in the past. Don’t worry about it. Do your thing and people will like you.” Taehyung gave comforting advice to Jimin.

“I bet you’ll be sorted into Hufflepuff.” Taehyung guessed out loud.

“What’s Hufflepuff? And what was the Ravenclaw you were talking about earlier?” Taehyung sighed with proud authority as he got up and sat down next to Jimin, throwing a lazy arm around his shoulder.

“I’ve got lots to teach you, my friend. By the way, I’m Taehyung.” He brought up his hand and gave a handshake.

“Jimin.”

Hogwarts Express p.3 | BTS Hogwarts AU

“I could have sworn I saw more sweets earlier.” Hoseok mumbled to himself as the trolley cart finally came his way. About one third of the cart had been emptied since he’s passed by the trolley cart when he was on his way to the bathroom.

Now, he’s on his way back to his compartment and the trolley has already passed by his compartment when he was in the bathroom. No doubt, the cart will magically restock itself but the cart was with Hoseok now, he might as well take what he can get before it moves on.

He picked up his personal favorites, which was actually quite a bit since he loved sweets, but he remembered that the trolley still had a while to go. But since the trolley will restock itself, it would be okay, right? He looked at his currency. He had plenty to spare, but he didn’t want to trouble his family over the school year to send him more money. He cut down his choices by at least half. It’s probably better for him like this anyway; too many sweets could give him cavities. His mother loved his smile, so he wouldn’t ruin that.

He gave the trolley witch his mother-loving smile and thanked her for waiting so long. He sent her on her way and went back to his own compartment.

When he got back, he was surprised to see a thin and pale boy with green hair sitting by the window. He was looking outside and was resting his chin in his hand, elbows supported by the window sill. 

Hoseok looked up above the seat to see his own initials on the suitcase. He got the compartment right. Where was this boy while the train was moving earlier? Hoseok almost knocked but remembered that this was his compartment first. Oh well.

Hoseok knocked the compartment door and entered in anyway. The boy’s head turned to him and Hoseok saw his face had a very lazy and hard expression. Hoseok gave a quick smile and took down his suitcase, subtly indicating that he had the right to be here. Even so, Hoseok still was about to leave the compartment and find a different compartment with his suitcase but a raspy voice stopped him.

“You were here first, weren’t you? Just stay.” Hoseok turned back, ears red. He looked at the boy with the same expression.

“My name is Hoseok.” He finally said, setting down his suitcase back where he originally had it. He sat down opposite of the pale boy. The pale boy gave him a sweet smile, but it was a little tight.

“Yoongi.” Hoseok scratched the back of his head and then remembered the sweets in his pockets. He brought out all the sweets out.

“Would you like some?” Yoongi looked at his hands full of sweets and finally gave a smile that showed his little teeth and gums. Yoongi put his hands in his pockets and revealed the same sweets, and then some; the same sweets Hoseok liked.

Hoseok laughed and cried out gleefully, “We are in common with sweets!” A knock brought their attention to the door. A young boy peeked in, “May I sit here? Everywhere else is full…”

Before asking Yoongi’s opinion on the matter, Hoseok gestured to the seat next to him, “Of course!”

To Yoongi, two was already a crowd…but this kid really needed to find a place to sit, he couldn’t say no to this kid.

“What’s your name?” Hoseok asked the boy as he sat down with his hands stuffed in his pockets.

“I’m Jungkook.” He introduced himself proud and firm, but his handshake was soft and timid. Hoseok could tell by Jungkook’s handshake and Yoongi’s gummy smile, yes. Yes, he could work with this.

Sorting Kim Namjoon | BTS Scenario ~ Hogwarts AU

Never had he felt so confused in his life. 

Ravenclaw was what he felt like suited him best. His pureblood parents raised him with every book in the wizarding world at his feet, he excels and enjoys it. Why is this funky old hat making him question everything he’s known? But Namjoon kind of thinks the funky looking hat probably looks good on him.

The Sorting Hat chuckled at his thoughts regarding his fashion sense with hats. It’s been fun picking on this little first year’s brain. It’s by far one of the more stimulating first years he’s ever met, and with the Sorting Hat “living” for over a thousand years, he has the right to say that.

“Just because you know everything doesn’t mean you must be the type of person everyone looks to for facts, knowledge, and wisdom. I can sense your courage and fierce bravery and you are a born leader. You know what that means don’t you.” Namjoon said nothing but his mind had already started wavering enough for the Sorting Hat to feel encouraged to pick at these three qualities more.

“That’s right. What’s a brain like yours doing in Ravenclaw, picking a life in the library rather than out and about, doing daring things? You would rather pursue things outside of a book, beyond just wisdom and knowledge, am I right? I know it’s a yearning for you…”

Not long after, Namjoon let out a breath and came to a, somewhat-compromised, decision with the fussy old hat. As funky as he thinks he could pull it off, he couldn’t bear to hear the hat nag on and on how much he knows his inner thoughts anymore.

The Sorting Hat chuckles and releases his stimulant, shouting, “Gryffindor!”

Sorting Kim Seokjin | BTS Scenario ~ Hogwarts AU

“Pretty boy can’t wait to eat, huh?” the Sorting Hat cackled at the boy’s trying patience. Ah, this boy will grow well.

This boy was already self-aware on a very mature level for a child his age. He knew his personal struggle on which side to choose, he honestly felt conflicted since he grew up knowing both sides. It would have been comfortable to be in Hufflepuff, but something told both Seokjin and the Sorting Hat that he wants more than comfort. Seokjin seemed to be a surprisingly spontaneous kid, with a daring heart to explore. The Sorting Hat decided to play on Seokjin’s innermost desires that he didn’t even know.

The Sorting Hat surprised Namjoon when he heard his friend be called to the Gryffindor table with him. Surely, Seokjin was a Hufflepuff, but Namjoon quickly decided that it was too short of a train ride for him to deduce him (truly, Namjoon felt a little disgruntled that he’d lost to his own game of guessing the different first years on the ride to Hogwarts, especially to a friend he actually met on the train). Namjoon felt a little challenge in his heart when his new friend strolled over to him with an excited smile, ready to explore. But it was that challenge in Namjoon’s heart, and the excited-looking Seokjin, that made Namjoon realize exactly why the Sorting Hat sorted them in Gryffindor.

Sorting Kim Taehyung| BTS Scenario ~ Hogwarts AU

The Sorting Hat felt this kid was all over the place with his thoughts. 

The kid asked all sorts of strange questions, ranging from the Sorting Hat’s dietary habits, to how it feels to be needed only for the beginning of the year and then sitting at the old Headmaster’s office for the rest of the year. Does he talk to the headmaster and the other portraits on the wall? What’s it like in the office?

Finally the Hat got a grip on Taehyung and settled his thoughts. His curiosity would have been such a Ravenclaw characteristic if he didn’t pick up on his underlying sly and clever spirit that pushed him to gather data about the Headmaster’s office for a prank he’s been planning for over a month now.

This boy was actually pretty nervous but he used his erratic nature to deter away from that. This boy’s brain had such Ravenclaw potential with a Slytherin mindset. But where was his heart? All he could think about was his family right now. He imagined himself to go into the Ravenclaw house because of his mother, to make her proud. But his ambitions were higher than that of a Ravenclaw.

The Sorting Hat’s objective was to dig into the inner beings of each child, and he knew Ravenclaw would soon bore the excitable Taehyung, as well as exhaust the never-ending pursuits for knowledge and wisdom. Just because his mother was Ravenclaw, didn’t mean it fits this boy but he himself didn’t realize that; obviously not a Ravenclaw. His ambitions were not in line of than that of a Slytherin; he wouldn’t fit in Slytherin. Where could he go? He would eat the other Hufflepuffs for breakfast. He would fit right in with Gryffindor. Gryffindor would allow his erratic nature to grow into a lover of defying limits.

The matter was settled in Taehyung’s head.

The Hat needed to let the boy’s mind go wander free again or else the Sorting Hat might need to take a break and sit down, so to speak. Hopefully he has the energy later to remind the headmaster about a potential prank in the nearer future. Screw that, it wasn’t the hat’s job.

Sorting Min Yoongi | BTS Scenario ~ Hogwarts AU

He had come from a long line of death eaters; all those who knew of wizarding world history could spot his ancestor’s sins from a mile away.

He had a thirst for knowledge and a good base at that, a heavily suppressed kind heart, and a determined nature to defy the odds to everyone and prove everyone that not every Slytherin line is bad. 

If he were to prove to everyone that his family is not the family it once was, the chains of his ancestors would be broken. Being in Ravenclaw would be the first step to breaking that chain, to prove that Slytherin descendants could choose their own fate. It was ambitious, but that was what he was; Slytherin for sure.

He was so sure that his Ravenclaw intelligence would prove his purposes though.

“Are you sure? Ravenclaw house will not help you on your goal.” The Sorting Hat spoke out loud, telling him his plan will not work.

“You’re better off defying the odds in a different way, my child.” Yoongi looked confused and inwardly asked the hat why. Already, the boy started to waver on his original plan to stay in Ravenclaw. Wavering doubt was something he was not used to.

This boy has grown up knowing only Slytherin. His hair was surprisingly green for goodness sake! All the kids who knew the housing system had already pegged him as a Slytherin by his hair and his hard stare, and he wanted to prove to them that he wasn’t. But the professors and Sorting Hat could tell by experience that his stare was hard but wasn’t cold. There was more than that to this boy, the Sorting Hat knew.

Though his Ravenclaw intelligence was there, he lacked the wisdom to discern what was best for him. He had been the kind heart of a Hufflepuff but he constantly avoided it since he got his acceptance letter. If only he learned to use it.

Yoongi thought it would be good to change Slytherin ideals from the outside but the hat already knew it wasn’t truly where the boy wanted to be. The Sorting Hat chuckled, the boy’s journey would be much more adventurous and fun for him if he didn’t give away too much.

“I see your ambition is far greater than anything else in that mind of yours. You will excel with this drive and goal.”

Yoongi was almost worried as to why he felt such a relief when the hat announced Slytherin. He looked back at the Hat who gave him a wink as he stepped down the stage. He looked over at the Ravenclaw table and then at the Slytherin table. That’s right, Ravenclaws can’t keep up.

Sorting Park Jimin | BTS Scenario ~ Hogwarts AU

It’s a constant struggle for many students between these two houses, Hufflepuff and Gryffindor; similar to the Hufflepuff-like Gryffindor boy. But he since he was much less self-aware, it required the hat to dig more.

This muggleborn was pure for sure. There is such a shy willingness in him with fierce determination to be chivalrous and he was daring enough to prove himself. His kindness was very obvious at the first look.

The Sorting Hat could see the memories he’s had with that erratic Slytherin-like Gryffindor first year and some other first years on the Hogwarts express. He and that boy had such a great chemistry, reminding the hat of two infamous mischievous ginger-haired twins of so many years ago.

But the hat could see the desire Jimin had to be with his new friend in Gryffindor, proving his Hufflepuff loyalty. But his daring determination would only get him so far, lag far behind Taehyung’s. His heart was where he needed to be.

There are one of two outcomes. Jimin could use his kind behavior to lower Taehyung’s energy, or Taehyung could bring out the daring side of Jimin and could cause a lot of mischief around school.

Either way, the bond would have to be formed by different houses.

“Hufflepuff!”

Sorting Jeon Jungkook | BTS Scenario ~ Hogwarts AU

Was it possible for the Sorting Hat to feel conflicted and slightly worried? 

This kid had an unstable energy in him that whispered Slytherin. Last unstable Slytherin he felt was Tom Marvolo Riddle.

He also felt that a surge of bravery and daring nature at his very front that could have been mistaken for Gryffindor, but his ambitious Slytherin essence was his drive to prove something to the world. Even so, he was now in Hogwarts and there’s really no stopping the kid from entering into any house. Putting him in a house he doesn’t belong would just make matters worse and it is forbidden to the Sorting Hat’s principles.

The Hat’s glimmer of hope lies in the Hufflepuff buried in the low, but not far, reaches of Jungkook’s heart. This boy’s mentality was so young, so raw; the Hufflepuff was too small and undeveloped for him to fit in with the Hufflepuff. Nevertheless the hat could feel it, bringing a metaphorical sigh of relief to the hat.

Being in Slytherin might just improve his ambitions, but could stamp out the sensitivity and loyalty the Hufflepuff in him. Unlike the Ravenclaw-like Slytherin, who ignored his kind heart unless it was absolutely necessary, Jungkook was just too raw and young in mind.

Being in Hufflepuff might make it hard on the others, seeing how his Slytherin nature is so seemingly prominent. But one of the strongest traits the hat could feel was loyalty and ambition. If he was put in Hufflepuff, he would do his best to honor that title. The Hat could only hope he finds friends to bring out the Hufflepuff.

Masking his worries, the hat confidently announces, “Hufflepuff!”

Sorting Jung Hoseok | BTS Scenario ~ Hogwarts AU

This kid had quite the bouncing energy, but not nearly as mentally demanding as the Slytherin-like Gryffindor. 

Rather than the mental output, his energy output was physical. He was very aware of his surroundings and his body was strong and ready for anything. Physical output already excluded him from Ravenclaw potential, but Hoseok already knew that he was not the type to follow his father’s footsteps.

Despite his body ready to pounce at first instinct as a lion, his heart proved that he was just a sensitive marshmallow. He was ambitious, but not in the ways of a Slytherin. His body was his greatest offense, which made it a good defense, because what he really needed was goodness, kindness.

Although the Sorting Hat’s had not manipulated any child’s house, the hat couldn’t help but envision this child to be the perfect companion of that Slytherin-like Hufflepuff. They seemed to be polar opposites, but this child seems like he could get past anyone’s barriers with his smile, so long as this child doesn’t get too disheartened by people pushing away his friendliness. But with the determination of a Gryffindor and the heart of a Hufflepuff, the odds looked pretty good. He had a sense of familiarity with another Gryffindor-like Hufflepuff earlier.

First Year of Hogwarts | BTS Hogwarts AU

Namjoon and Seokjin became friends since day one. Study buddies, and table partners. Have had several disputes because they have different strategies on same topics, but things normally calmed down during meal times

Namjoon is first in all his classes and within Gryffindor itself, even for a first year.

Seokjin had mediated a few random disputes between Gryffindor first years a couple times. When Namjoon saw his friend was stepping in, he didn’t hesitate to back him up and give a little input himself.

Seokjin and Namjoon’s favorite past time was meal times and sitting by the fire in the Gryffindor common room

Taehyung immediately found Jimin on the very first morning. Already bridging gaps between Hufflepuff and Gryffindor. Table partners when Hufflepuff and Gryffindor have class together. Would’ve been good study partners too, if they studied at all.

Jungkook and Hoseok stuck pretty closely for most of the year. At first, Hoseok had to approach Jungkook proactively. Jungkook was pretty timid, but he eventually found Hoseok to be a good and lovable companion.

Jungkook will act rashly and protectively when anyone ever teases Hoseok

Hoseok tends to do things on a whim and constantly pulls Jungkook to join him

Jimin and Hoseok were the most sociable of the entire Hufflepuff house, so they easily found each other as kindred spirits

Jungkook always trailed behind Hoseok and Jimin, but the pair would grab Jungkook and have him stand in the middle.

As fun and active as Hoseok and Taehyung are, Jimin has moments where he likes to hang out with shy little Jungkook. 

Yoongi spent his first year pretty quietly and secluded. Despite his ambitions to prove people wrong, being in the Slytherin environment might have made him even harder to approach.

He discovered the Room of Requirement and kept the information to himself. Constantly disappeared after meal times to be in there, away from the Slytherin commons.

Top marks in the Slytherin first years

Yoongi sees the two Hufflepuff acquaintances hanging out in the meal times and often contemplates on how to further their friendship.

Hoseok never forgot about Yoongi though. He can see that Yoongi is pretty closed off by the rest of the Slytherin table because Yoongi comes off pretty arrogant to the rest of the first years in that house.

Hoseok would make friendly converstations with him and be his table partner during the Hufflepuff/Slytherin classes. Of course, he would make sure that Jimin was with Jungkook first.

Flying lessons

Hoseok was actually pretty scared to be on brooms since he was a kid. His parents not around made him even more nervous, but he saw how easily Jungkook got a handle on it and he instantly wanted to join his friend in the air. With a friend, he felt more at ease being in the air and soon felt confident enough to soar independently.

Seokjin loved flying since he was a kid so it was pretty easy. He was one of the more excited first years

Namjoon never cared for being on a broom, but he was adequate on it, only because he felt like he needed to know. In the first lesson, his broom would not move at all; turns out Taehyung was charming it to do so. Namjoon saw past that and had Taehyung’s broom wack himself in the face.

Taehyung held a grudge until one day he blew up his frustration to Jimin about it. Jimin pointed out Taehyung was first at fault, causing the boy to reevaluate himself. He apologized to Namjoon later that day. Namjoon also apologized for his own actions and invited him to eat with him and Seokjin for dinner.

Jimin was nervous because it was his first time on the broom, but when he finally kicked off in the air, after a few close calls, he took to it very well and would not come down when Madam Hooch told him flying class was over.

Yoongi did everything fast. He had the broom in his hand before Madam Hooch gave orders to everyone to say “up!” He got on the broom faster than the other first years and kicked off the moment he heard the whistle.

A/N: Previously, I had the Quidditch portion in their first year, until I realized that first years aren’t allowed to participate in Quidditch. Harry Potter is just annoyingly special like that. So I moved it to year two. I’m just being a perfectionist and as authentic as possible, sorry!

Next year

Second Year of Hogwarts | BTS Hogwarts AU

Last year

Seokjin had written letters to Namjoon over the summer.

Namjoon already knew Taehyung from the broom incident from last year, but since they made up, Namjoon could tell Taehyung had a righteous upbringing, despite his tendency to cause trouble. He wrote only to Seokjin over the summer.

Taehyung wrote to Jimin and Hoseok over the summer. Jungkook was a little slippery when it came to learning about his personal side, but by the end of the first year, he got Jungkook’s address and wrote to him as well.

Taehyung and Jimin started attending Namjoon and Seokjin’s study sessions. Seokjin constantly reminded them to calm down and would low-key apologize to his friend, who had always been very serious about the study session. Namjoon told him it was okay. To be honest, they were both grateful for the sense of lively merriment in the study sessions.

Taehyung started getting interested in animagi but didn’t think about pursuing it until he talked to Jimin about it at the near end of the year. When he decided he wanted to do it, he made a secret pact with Jimin about it and they separately started to gather information on animagi. They didn’t know that next year, they were allowed to learn it in Transfiguration.

Namjoon excels in every class, although he has a little tough time dealing with classes that require hands-on technique such as potions, herbology. Potions is way too fragile for his large and clumsy frame. So when they have partners in potions, Namjoon would tell Seokjin the instructions and let Seokjin handle all the different ingredients. Herbology required delicate hands…and Namjoon…was far from delicate. There was nothing he could do physically do to salvage his mistakes in that class because they rarely had partners, so he answered every question, earning points for the house.

He chose arithmancy and study of ancient runes for his next year’s electives.

Seokjin excels in Charms, Potions, and Transfiguration were his favorite subjects. Bewitching things and people were just so much fun and something he excelled at on his own. He treated potions like a cooking class and that was always fun. Herbology was okay since he felt good to take care of things and see it thrive under his care. History of Magic and Astronomy were a bit boring to him though.

Taehyung excels in Potions and Herbology. He doesn’t particularly enjoy Herbology, but his father and mother work as herbologists so he naturally knows everything about it, but he’s so bored with the subject already; luckily, Professor Longbottom is patient with his acting up in class. He loved playing around in potions. His out-of-the-box nature really helped him excel in potions because, although he didn’t strictly follow the directions, his potions always turned out on point (very much like a certain half-blood prince)

Chose divination and care of magical creatures for his next year’s electives

Hoseok wrote to Jimin, Jungkook, and Taehyung over the summer. Didn’t push for Yoongi’s contact information so early on because he felt that Yoongi was pretty closed off and harder to interact with since he was in a different house. Was very surprised when Yoongi gave him his contact information on the last day.

Jimin wrote to Hoseok, Jungkook, and Taehyung over the summer. Every. Single. Day. Even though he was catching up with his muggle friends most of the time, and being pretty elusive about what school he transferred to, he would write.

Jungkook wrote to Hoseok, Taehyung, and Jimin. He didn’t reply as frequently as they did, but he would when he remembered.

Jimin’s studies got better since he started attending study sessions. Always ecstatic when Jungkook asked for help.

Jungkook exchanges help in class for practicing on the Quidditch field.

Hoseok joins in both because he doesn’t want to feel left alone.

Hoseok is an outstanding/exceeding expectations student, mostly because he’s grown up with a stern Ravenclaw father. If it wasn’t for his excellence in History of Magic, Jungkook and Jimin would have failed.

Jimin thinks that Transfigurations and Potions are fun and all, but his favorite lesson has always been the flying lesson in his first year. He does well enough on other classes, but history of magic must be the most boring subject yet.

Jungkook exceeds expectations in many things, but is finds history of magic really, really, really boring. He cannot, for the life of him, pay attention in that class.

Yoongi only wrote to Hoseok over the summer, and really, that’s completely fine with him. He feels like he’s making a breakthrough already by a Slytherin befriending a Hufflepuff. Tries not to think of it that way though because it would make him seem very manipulative. It actually is, but he thinks if he doesn’t think of it like that, the connection will be more genuine.

In his first year, when he discovered the Room of Requirement, he experimented with the structure every day, learning the limits of this room and his own imagination. He still does it, because he can see the infinite possibilities and he doesn’t feel like he has enough time to fully understand it, which kind of bugs him but fascinates him at the same time.

He’s starting to catch on to his own creativity, settling on recurring themes, but changing the structure that’s almost always different.

He excels in every class. Pays extra attention to Defense Against the Dark Arts. He tries his best to stand out in that class; proving his activism in fighting the dark arts. His favorite class is probably Astronomy though. Stars and the movements of planets is very calming to him. It’s quiet, independent, and predictable.

Quidditch: THIS USED TO BE IN THE FIRST YEAR UNTIL I REALIZED THAT FIRST YEARS AREN’T ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN QUIDDITCH. Harry Potter is just annoyingly special like that. I moved it here because I’m a perfectionist and wanting to be a little authentic. Sorry for those who’ve seen this portion before, but I think you’ve all enjoyed it still...

Namjoon was chosen by the Head of the House to be the announcer of Quidditch games.

Seokjin decided to try out as a chaser but found out at tryouts that he was better suited for keepers.

Taehyung is a Gryffindor beater

Not necessarily friendly or getting along, but Seokjin felt drawn to watch over the little rascal, especially since he witnessed Taehyung’s prank on his friend. When he learned that things were resolved, Seokjin also let go of his grudge that he didn’t even notice existed. He lightened his behavior towards little Taehyung, but he was still quite a troublemaker.

Hoseok is a Hufflepuff chaser

Jungkook is a Hufflepuff seeker. Other than against Slytherin, he claimed Hufflepuff victory at every other game.

Jimin is a Hufflepuff beater because Taehyung pushed him to try out

Hoseok and Jimin got to know each other on the team, and that eventually also meant Jungkook. They were the Hufflepuff second year trio on the team.

During practices, Taehyung or Jimin would spectate the other’s practice, teasing them from the sidelines and the pair would end up fooling around. The captain of the teams would end up kicking out the spectator friend from the field. During games between Hufflepuff and Gryffindor, they teasingly eye each other and constantly challenge each other with bludgers, making quite a show for the audience while they should be watching the real game.

Once Taehyung hit a bludger towards one of Jimin’s teammates, and Jimin had successfully defended his teammates. This caused Jimin to be pretty mad but was easily diffused when Taehyung promised to never do it again. Inadvertently, this made Jimin pretty popular in the Hufflepuff commons. Unbeknownst to him, it was all under Taehyung’s calculations and he had done it on purpose for this very reason.

Yoongi is a Slytherin seeker. Slytherin had won every single game thanks to him and Slytherin won the Quidditch cup. His favorite opponent was Jungkook and vice versa.

Next year

Third Year of Hogwarts | BTS Hogwarts AU

Last year

Namjoon received a time turner in his third year so he can keep up with his studies. No doubt, he was fascinated by the object and itched to understand its mechanisms and experiment. But it was given to him under confidence that he wouldn’t do those things. He needed to respect that more than give in the urge. Besides, he can still learn from it just by doing what he should do with it.

In both of Arithmancy and Study of Ancient Runes, he got to know Yoongi. They ended up as tablemates and occasionally partners. He ended up recognizing Yoongi as his favorite academic-related partner. Can’t tell Seokjin though.

Seokjin learned about the bowl of fruit painting that led down to the kitchens. Don’t ever ask how he managed to figure out that one had to tickle a pear to find the kitchen; it’s embarrassing enough for him to turn red all day. The delight he had in his first successful exploration surprisingly came first before his senses of food all around him. He visits every night before curfew and every day before he leaves for classes, or at least tries to.

Muggle Studies was fairly interesting because he never came into contact with muggle things due to his pureblood line for many generations. Care of Magical Creatures served the same purpose as herbology: to feel good of taking care of things

Taehyung was almost disappointed when he started learning about Animagi in Tranfiguration. He always thought it would be a secret pursuit he had with Jimin, something special to share. Nevertheless, those feelings soon left as he learned more in the class than he learned over the summer. Granted, he spent most of his summer fooling around anyway.

Divination is kind of fun because of all the bullsh!t he makes up and the professor just eats it up. But at the same time, he secretly studies it hard and tries to imagine the possibilities and wonders it could uncover if it was taken more seriously. Care of Magical Creatures is his favorite though. He just has away with different creatures and they’re fascinating.

Jimin and Taehyung found the Marauder’s map one night. It sure quenched Taehyung’s thirst to find something special between them.  Jimin was put in charge to keep it and would study it under the blankets with the lumos light late at night, finding peculiar habits of two pairs of footsteps. Seokjin would be able pass through a painting into some unknown zone. Another pair of footsteps named Yoongi would disappear behind a wall as well.

Jimin took Muggle Studies because it’s super easy. He lived it! Care of magical creatures was new and exciting, especially when he sees that Taehyung’s hand did not get bitten off, so he would now it’s safe for him too.

Jungkook started taking secret night flights on a weekly basis. Sometimes he felt smothered and wanted to get some fresh air alone. Flying is his favorite pastimes. He dared to fly over the Forbidden Forest but never too far. He was daring, not stupid.

Study of Ancient Ruins was told to be a very dignified elective so he took it with Hoseok. Care of Magical creatures was better though, it was much more calming and not as stressful.

Don’t ask how he knows, Hoseok is just so intuitive of everyone. He figured out how Namjoon is able to be in two subjects at the same time, it’s something he picked up in study of ancient runes when he rushed his way to class, passing the students filing in for Arithmancy, but then seeing Namjoon already in his seat in study of ancient runes. He’s the lightest sleeper so he recognized windows opening and the whoosh sound of a broom, as well as the silly little Jimin thinking that hiding under the blanket would hide the light of his late-night studies. He’s overheard discussions between Taehyung and Jimin about animagi, as if it was the most important subject there ever was. And he always saw Yoongi leave the dinner table quicker than everyone else, but passing Slytherins always talk about how the strange boy was never in the commons. In muggle studies, he always saw Seokjin sneaking extra snacks into his mouth that weren’t at the breakfast tables, but they still looked warm and fresh. He inquired some information from his father about several secret passages in the Hogwarts and was able to piece things together. He never told any of them that he knew their secrets.

Muggle Studies was a simple subject that he enjoyed. He loved knowing the ins and outs of both muggles and wizards. Making connections on his own of how either side has influenced society and culture of their own. Jungkook asked him to take one of the electives with him. He already had Care of Magical Creatures with Jimin, and honestly, Hoseok had no intention to come near scary creatures. He didn’t join Study of Ancient Runes with intention of liking it, but he did.

Hoseok and Namjoon are the first to know of everyone, even if they weren’t necessarily on speaking terms. But everything would change by Hogsmeade. 

Yoongi has finally uncovered the secrets of the Room of Requirement. But it was super dangerous. He stayed in the room while the room changed. He almost lost a foot! But he didn’t, that’s all that mattered to him. He managed to watch the room change shape, create itself into something new. With this new knowledge acquired, he comfortably manipulated the room all the time. But he always had one room he always went back to, his comfortable medium.

He took Arithmancy and Study of Ancient Runes because he was told they were the most difficult. Namjoon and he became the top performing students in those classes in the last few decades, and several more to come. He would have wanted to pair up with Hoseok at first, but Hoseok had Jungkook and Jungkook needed Hoseok more. It’s fine. It worked out for the best anyway.

Hogsmeade:

Everyone went to Hogsmeade. Namjoon and Seokjin went to Dervish and Banges because Namjoon has broken his telescope, again. Yoongi went to Dominic Maestro’s because he wanted to find a permanent music player in the Room of Requirement, no matter what room he changed it to. Jungkook, Hoseok, Jimin, and Taehyung all went to Honeydukes before Zonko’s Joke shop.

Rather than the ever-popular Three Broomsticks, Yoongi chose to grab a hot drink at the Hogs Head before making his way back to Hogwarts. On the road less traveled, he was ganged up by Slytherins who were tired of his arrogance since the beginning. Yoongi was okay for a while since he was skilled, but there were too many of them. Six in total. Three, he could easily do. Four, was stretching it. Five was his maximum capacity at his level. He could only hold his own for so long.

Hoseok, Jungkook, Taehyung, and Jimin were on their way to visit the Shrieking Shack when they heard the commotion. Jungkook and Hoseok recognized Yoongi but Jungkook dashed forward to help his friend in need first. Hoseok was the first to whip out his wand and make the bullies fly back away from Yoongi. Sensing the danger and importance of the mint-headed boy as pale as snow, Taehyung and Jimin also ran forward. The four of them surrounded Yoongi with their wands out.

At this time, Seokjin reminded Namjoon that they needed to go pick up Taehyung at the Shrieking Shack, because they wanted to go back as a house trio. Namjoon recognized Yoongi, Hoseok, and Jungkook from study of ancient runes. Seokjin recognized Jungkook, Taehyung, and Jimin from Care of Magical Creatures. They saw the problem and Namjoon quickly made a shield spell around the five of them. Seokjin had never looked more intimidating with his wand pointed at the bullies, lowly telling them to leave.

The bullies could recognize the infamous smart wizard, Namjoon. With that, the bullies left.

“Are you okay?” Hoseok put a hand on Yoongi’s shoulder, which Yoongi only nodded with his head down, looking at his spilled hot drink in the cold snow. Introductions were made and the six of them decided to go with Yoongi back to Hogwarts. That day on…they were all friends.

I didn’t notice when I chose their electives. Study of Ancient Runes connect our rappers together. Care of Magical Creatures connect our singers together. :D Funny how things like that work out.

Fourth Year of Hogwarts | BTS Hogwarts AU

Last Year

The Hogsmeade incident happened sometime in the second half of the third year. This is the year that the boys really bonded.

In Quidditch, Namjoon was the announcer and he always made comments about his friends, but he didn’t take it too far lest he be kicked out of being an announcer.

Ladies, Seokjin is a handsome and pale man at the ripe age of 15. Look at that beautiful save against the Slytherin’s attack at his hoops. Isn’t he protective? Yoongi better step up his game if he wants his team to win, because he really can’t count on the rest of his teammates, especially with Taehyung’s precise bludger interceptions at the chasers. Anyway, back to Seokjin, he’s 179cm. He loves food and cares a lot about his friends. He’s a true gentleman and will do couple matches with you, as long as you’re okay with him wearing pink with you.

You can hear protests coming from the professors about him needing to pay attention to the actual game.

Jimin was once knocked off his broom by a Ravenclaw seeker who was on his way to catch the snitch. He was bedridden for a week. If it wasn’t for his kindness and forgiveness, the rest of the boys would have made sure that seeker would even feel sick at the mention of the Quidditch field again.

Taehyung didn’t care and would skip many classes to hang out with Jimin in the hospital wing. Jimin was the one who pushed him out because he didn’t want his friend to fail.

Seokjin secretly came to check on him at night, sharing his secret about the tickling pear and snacking all night.

Namjoon would outwardly write him detailed class notes in all the classes that he was with Jimin. He never revealed his secret about the time-turner, but he did end up breaking a rule and using it to secretly attend the classes Jimin didn’t have with him and still wrote him notes. When asked about them, he only smiled and said he had his ways.

Hoseok always cheered Jimin up whenever he visited and helped him catch up with what was going on outside of the hospital wing.

Jungkook checked up with Jimin after every class, even if the hospital wing was out of his way. He showed him new things he learned in class, earning awes from Jimin. He brought many things from the Zonko’s Joke shop to entertain Jimin.

Yoongi thought Jimin far too kind within his circle of friends and he would always talk to Taehyung about getting revenge, but Jimin always told him to let it go. Yoongi was a quiet companion with Jimin in the hospital wing, but he always stayed the longest and returned the most frequently.

Jimin wrote a thank you letter to all his friends.

Jungkook and Yoongi’s competition in the field brought a lot more attention now that they were friends and could outwardly taunt each other. They always played fair and won almost an equal amount of times. Jungkook still won more because he was much more outwardly competitive.

Taehyung and Jimin revealed their interest in animagi and caught the rest of the boy’s interests. In their third year, they were only gathering information, this year, they were really going to start trying to transform.

Since one of the steps is to hold a leaf of mandrake in their mouth for an entire month, the boys took turns to do that and have the rest of the boys be as loud as possible to steer away from the fact that one of them was quieter than a mouse for a month.

Getting the mandrake leaf was the funniest thing. Every one decided to get their own leaf. The rest of them would spectate and just crack up so hard at the attempts.

In the dead of night

Jimin was timid but he was pushed to do it first. Jimin would say kind words to the mandrake to be quiet when he first touched the mandrake. He freaked out by the first cry and ripped away half a leaf. He started running but realized he only ripped a half and had to run back for a full one.

Seokjin was next and he was very good in the very beginning, all his mandrake did was whimper, but then it started shrieking and it freaked him out. Was able to get a full leaf on first try, unlike Jimin.

Namjoon charmed a silence spell over the whole greenhouse. He didn’t charm the silence on the mandrake so he wouldn’t interfere with the natural mandrake.

Yoongi charmed the greenhouse and his own ears because he cared for the quiet the most. He didn’t want to use the earmuffs. He took his time and freaked out the others because he took so long and they couldn’t hear anything.

Hoseok was so nervous. It took him a long time to actually make contact with the mandrake, but he made it quick. His heart still thumped the loudest after 20 minutes.

Taehyung was most skilled at dealing with the mandrake and was in and out in the quickest amount of time. His mandrake cried the quietest.

Jungkook had done a clean and swift job. His mandrake cried the least.

Out of genuine friendship and proof of it, Yoongi disclosed the secret of the Room of Requirement to the rest of the boys. They now had a place to practice transforming.

They all drew their heads in together to create the best room to match the seven of them. Unfortunately, Yoongi notified Seokjin that the Room of Requirement couldn’t conjure food. It made Seokjin disappointed but Jimin quietly reminded Seokjin about his own secret. That being said, Seokjin decided to trust the rest of his friends about his secret too. Food stock is not a problem.

They obviously kept Yoongi’s permanent music player. Only their room would keep this item and would transform with it.

Namjoon was very practical and declared that they needed large space and an emergency medical kit on standby in case of any accidents.

Hoseok wanted mirrors so he can continuously monitor the transformations in every angle and make sure nothing went wrong.

Jimin was a little more on the comfort angle and came up with the hang out corner for everyone to relax. Taehyung, Jungkook, and Jimin were put in charge of coming up with the comfort corner. Resting area, games, and many muggle items Jimin introduced the pureblood elder brothers to.

They disappeared from the rest of the school very often, but it was clear to everyone else of their group. They were by far the most diverse group, save for Ravenclaw but their parent’s legacy proved their diversity.

Animagi:

Taehyung

He was the first to succeed transformation. For sure, being a lion was cool and all, but it lacked the stealth he wanted to muster up for pranks.

Oh, but imagine people seeing a random lion around. Is he the physical manifestation of all that is Gryffindor? He could lead Gryffindor into a riot at the Great Hall.

He could sit on the professor’s desk before class begins and everyone will just have to deal with it. Just not in Transfiguration. The professor would see right through it. But in truth, he didn’t want to register his animagi form just yet, maybe when he graduated. If that was the case, it’s best that he kept his animagus away from the rest of the students and staff. His animal was the most conspicuous.

Maybe a lion wouldn’t be all that bad in the scheme of things…

All in all, he’s actually quite relieved to see himself as a lion because this whole time, he felt a little out of place in Gryffindor. Now, he will never doubt again.

Namjoon

Why? Why a penguin?

Was it because he was a seemingly cold person compared to the fiery hearts in Gryffindor?

Was it because he used to awkwardly waddle secretly at home when he was a child, and now his past has come back to haunt him?

Was it because a penguin was both black and white, a well-balanced animal?

Was it because penguins are witty, meticulous, and inscrutable. Deep creatures of the south that everyone cannot compare?

Yes…yes a penguin….he can feel it!

Yoongi

Man, changing into an animagus was such hard work. When he finally changed, he was relieved that he had reached his end goal.

Would have fallen asleep right away after he changed out of exhaustion if his curiosity didn’t get the better of him.

A porcupine, huh?

Quite fitting, seeing how many people felt like it was so hard to approach him. Even though he didn’t mean to, he’s naturally like this.

His animal was witty and resourceful. He had nothing to complain.

Seokjin

Such a pretty stag. He loved every bit of himself.

Could he be any cuter?

Prairie dogs are so fun-loving, affectionate, and generous. He didn’t see anything that would suit him better.

His prairie dog will help him exert his energy all over the place.

He felt out-of-bounds in his animagus form, running around with his friends on the grounds when no one was paying attention to the seven animals who had no natural business to be with each other.

He felt free

Jimin

Foxes are perfect. Such a beautiful creature fully of loyalty and fun-loving passion.

He would always joke around with his friends and ladies passing by that he’s actually “quite foxy”

Sly creature with creativity would best suit him when pulling pranks with Taehyung

His agility will suit his escaping purposes. He would race his lion-hearted friend. It’s such a sight to imagine

Jungkook

Determined, untamed, and dynamic. These were the three things he told himself when he first looked in the mirror

These three things could prove all his amazing qualities

But granted, zebras had its aggressive moments. Luckily he had friends whose animagi were just as well, helping him settle down, as untamed as he could be sometimes.

But also peaceful and self-contained when he’s in the environment most comfortable to him. And being in Hufflepuff had been feeling just like that.

Namjoon was appointed as the male prefect in Gryffindor

Hoseok was appointed as the male prefect in Hufflepuff

Yoongi was appointed as the male prefect in Slytherin

In order to be fair to these three, the group decided to not stay in the Room of Requirement every night and return to their dormitories.

Namjoon obviously was the perfect prefect. He diligently taking care of the first years, making sure that everyone do their best, etc. People are already making bets that he will be Head Boy in his seventh year.

As a prefect, he’s a little more rebellious than he should be. That’s basically too much since a prefect is to not be rebellious at all, but no one ever believes that mischievous side so he gets away with it. Although he’s the rules and guidelines man, he really doesn’t care to break a few of them himself. He constantly explores the castle more than he cares about catching students out of bed.

Seokjin took over the role of mediator in the Gryffindor common room, even though it was more of a prefect job while Namjoon takes care of the bigger things such as overseeing the whole house.

Hoseok is a soft prefect. Only giving warnings. Everyone looks to him because he’s the sweetest and lets everyone get away with things.

But at the same time, he’s a wild card. You have to catch him on a really good day for that to happen. If not, he will make an embarrassing example of you before sending you to your dorm so you never do it again.

Yoongi likes to threaten people with his authority, but he never takes action. Even so, no one dares to test him on his limit of tolerance. He personally doesn’t take his own authority or others’ very seriously. He’s been reprimanded a few times but his badge was never revoked.

He loves the prefect’s bathroom. He takes baths twice a day, relaxing alone. Many speculate that it’s the reason he makes sure he stays on the good side of the Head boy and Head girl, enough to not have his badge revoked.

Knowing that Taehyung and Jimin still sneak out every now and then, regardless of not going to the Room of Requirement, Namjoon warns them that if he ever caught them sneaking about, he would not hesitate to take action. This ended up creating a game/challenge between Seokjin, Taehyung, Jimin, and Jungkook and their prefect friends. Not allowed to use the Marauder’s Map.

In the challenge, each of the four non-prefect boys would always find different locations in the castle that he would mark as the checkpoint. The trio has to make their rounds without knowing when or where the boys would go. If he could get there and back to the dormitories without getting caught, their friend will bring him a treat from the kitchen at the end of his rounds.

Seokjin respected his prefect friends, but the challenge to not get caught was too thrilling. His first time, he successfully dodged Namjoon on his way down to the tickling pear for a celebratory dessert but his trail of crumbs was noted by Yoongi. Lucky for him, the rule was if he was ever caught in the act. Since then, he’s been very careful about his evidence. His favorite location was the boathouse.

Jimin saw the challenge as a bonding opportunity. He liked the teamwork the four of them did and had the prefects create their own little trio team. He enjoyed doing that more than being on his own. When they all worked together, one would be a lookout, one would be a decoy, and two would map out the strategy they would take to achieve their goal. Every time they get to the checkpoint, they would leave some sort of sign only their friends could recognize as their mark that they’ve succeeded. His favorite locations were to actually invade each dormitory entrance, kind of being extremely boastful about it when they’ve reached them and didn’t get caught.

Taehyung saw this challenge as a knowledge-seeking opportunity with his friends. His personal favorite location was the prefect’s bathroom. If he could take a bath there without getting caught, they would reward him by teaching him any secrets they learn about the different places all around the castle, since the prefects gets to explore the castle without consequence.

Jungkook saw the challenge as a way to perfect his skills of stealth. Every single time he sneaked out, he used different ways to reach his location. He would fly, charm himself to into stealth mode, travel through portraits, or even transformed into his zebra to trot his way. He will use any way he comes up with. His favorite place was actually outside of the Hogwarts grounds, to the Shrieking Shack.

Unlike his other two mischievous friends, he told them that not only did they have to catch him in the act, they have to actually catch him before he reaches his dormitories. If he doesn’t get caught in the act at all, no one ever knows, he just lets the secret slide, staying smug for reasons unknown to everyone else (Hoseok knows but since he doesn’t bring it up and he wasn’t caught, he lets it slide too). If he gets caught in the act but doesn’t get physically caught, he still takes it hard on himself and looks for ways to improve that specific tactic until it is perfect.

Seokjin, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook decided to figure a way to create a secret passage in Hogwarts. Since secret passages were previously made, they didn’t see why they couldn’t make one.

On the first try, magic rebounded to them and enlarged some part of their face, namely Jungkook’s teeth, Taehyung’s nose, and Jimin’s mouth. 

Luckily, Seokjin deflected the magic away from his face and body.

They freaked out and ran to the Room of Requirement, signaling for their friends to come help them.

Namjoon, Seokjin, Yoongi, and Hoseok helped them return their features back to normal. But not before laughing at them and toppling over one another and yelling at them for being stupid, Seokjin not included in the yelling, but he did laugh.

Namjoon did a little research and figured out that the previous secret passages were made by the founders when the school was actually built, leaving no probability to create new ones.

The three younger ones didn’t give up, a little fired up from their friends.

The three of them went to the portrait room and created eight indistinctive portraits, seven of them which had a random man (turns out were their fathers but main features were slightly altered) with an animal companion: penguin, stag, porcupine, prairie dog, lion, fox, and a zebra.

When the seven animals come together into the eight portrait, then it becomes a secret passage to each main floor. The exit of that passage on each floor was a portrait that corresponded to the one in the portrait room.

Unfortunately, the corresponding portraits was never the same place, they could have ended up on a higher portrait and would fall if not careful. It didn’t matter, because they succeeded.

They told their friends about it, but didn’t tell them about the catch on the other side of the passage as a prank. Luckily the four of them knew how to keep themselves from falling, much to the three’s dismay.

Despite the “harmless” prank, the four of them were pretty proud of their three friends leaving a mark in the school. They taught the younger three how to keep themselves from falling, should they ever walk out of a high portrait.

OWLs

Namjoon perfectly finished every OWL exam, written and practical. Enjoyed written more.

Received Outstanding in all of his subjects, even the practical for Potions and Herbology.

Seokjin did better in the practical than the written

Received Exceed Expectations in History of Magic and Astronomy. Everything else was Outstanding

Yoongi perfectly finished every OWL exam, both written and practical. Enjoyed practical more than written.

Received Outstanding in all subjects.

Hoseok did better in the practical more than written

Received Outstanding in all but Astronomy which he received Exceeds Expectations

The boys finally pulled a prank, through Taehyung’s spontaneous request as their hurrah, on their way through the graduation ceremony where they set off a prank in every classroom of Hogwarts. Each classroom was set according to a sequence they came up with so no one knew when and where the next prank would be. The pranks lasted for a three days and luckily the professors were able to interject the last bit of them which would have been in the professor’s corridors.

They all finally registered their animagus form when they graduated

Patronus

To no one’s surprise, they learned the patronus charm in their class. Their patronus charm was their animagus form

The wizard typically communicates well with other magical beings. Unicorn hair is consistent and strongly attached. Supple flexibility

Hogwarts legacy: used his Hufflepuff patience to explore with his Gryffindor’s bravery. Most adventurous

Hogwarts legacy: used his Ravenclaw originality to accomplish his ambitions with his Slytherin’s resourcefulness. Most unpredictable

Squad legacy: Self-assuredness. Cut through the bullshit, be sure of their convictions, and motivate others to hold themselves in higher standards of personal vision and logic.

Career: went into the Department of Magical Law Enforcement in the Ministry of Magic. Majority of his career was an Auror before retiring into the investigation department

Jung Hoseok

Wand wood: Pliant cedar wood with unicorn hair core. Strength of character and unusually loyal. Perspicacious and perceptive. Potential to be a frightening adversary, which often comes as a shock to those who have thoughtlessly challenged them.

Hogwarts legacy: used Gryffindor chivalry to express his Hufflepuff kindness. Most altruistic

Squad legacy: Enthusiasm. Brighten up what has become dull, boost morale, embrace possibilities, and inspire others to feel like their best selves

Career: went into the Department of International Magical Cooperation in the Ministry of Magic. Was a part of the International Confederation of Wizards before transferring into the Department of Mysteries, working as an Unspeakable in the Hall of Prophecy and Love Chamber 

Kim Namjoon

Wand wood: Solid spruce wood with phoenix feather core. There is certain deftness to working with spruce. It needs a firm hand and the wizard must be a bold spell-caster with a good sense of humor. Phoenix feathers are picky and very independent. It emphasizes the need for a firm hand, a leader-like hand. Solid is inflexible but not the toughest.

Hogwarts legacy: used his Ravenclaw knowledge to bring Gryffindor glory. Most diligent

Squad legacy: Independence. Remind everyone not to get lost in group think and to embrace their personal convictions and interests

Career: worked his way up the hierarchy in the Ministry of Magic. Started out as a Junior Assistant, to a Senior Undersecretary, to an Advisor, and finally a Minister for Magic.

Park Jimin

Wand wood: Pliant larch wood with unicorn hair core. Instills courage and confidence in the user. Hard to please and tricky to handle. The wizard may never realize the full extent of their considerable talents until paired with it, but that they will then make an exceptional match.

Hogwarts legacy: used Gryffindor courage to demonstrate Hufflepuff loyalty. Most considerate

Squad legacy: Light-heartedness. Lighten the mood, make others feel at ease, and make sure everyone fully engages with the wonderful world around them.

Kim Taehyung

Wand wood: Hard chestnut wood with dragon heartstring core. Chestnut varies greatly depending on the wand core and the owner’s personality. Most of the time, the owners are “skilled tamers of magical beasts”, and “possess great gifts in herbology”, and “natural fliers”. With dragon heartstring, owner possibly is overfond of luxury and material things, and less scrupulous than they should be about how they are obtained. Although Taehyung isn’t overly fond of luxury, for sure he has ambitions he doesn’t care how he gets to it.

Hogwarts legacy: uses his Slytherin cleverness to execute his Gryffindor’s daring deeds. Most ingenious

Squad legacy: Outside-of-the-box thinking. Challenge everyone to engage in debate, approach issues from new angles, and think of new ways they never thought before

Career: went into the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures in the Ministry of Magic.  He worked all three Beasts, Being, and Spirit Divisions before settling into the Department of Mysteries, working as an Unspeakable in the Space and Time Chambers

Jeon Jungkook

Wand wood: Quite flexible holly wood with dragon heartstring core. Considered protective. Works happily who may need help overcoming angry tendencies.

Hogwarts legacy: uses his Slytherin’s sense of fraternity to prove his Hufflepuff dedication. Most allegiant

Squad legacy: Loyalty. Support their friends in times of trouble, act as a solid, warm, and caring pillar to lean on.

Career: went into the Department of Magical Games and Sports in the Ministry of Magic. He worked in the British and Irish Quidditch League Headquarters before transferring to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement as a hit wizard.

Instinct pt.1 | Taehyung

The request

Summary line: It’s Taehyung’s instinct that you will be a very important person in his life.

It starts in the Great Hall on a Saturday morning, before the first Quidditch match of the year. Ravenclaw vs. Hufflepuff. You are already speculating who would be the winner. There are great chasers and beaters in Ravenclaw, but Hufflepuff has good beaters and chasers too. So it’s down to the seeker.

The Ravenclaw seeker is very intuitive but he lacks a proper sense of surroundings, to be honest, you would know because that’s kind of the same way you are. The Hufflepuff seeker, Jungkook, is ridiculously competitive for a Hufflepuff, but it’s been three years since you’ve been here to recognize that just because he is a Hufflepuff does not mean he can’t be extremely competitive.

So not only is he competitive, his strength is Ravenclaw’s weakness. You bet the game is Hufflepuff’s victory.

You are a people watcher. You enjoy understanding people’s motives in order to deduce their actions and the outcomes. Is it so you can manipulate the people around you? No. Is it to manipulate the surroundings so people will go the way you want? No. See, not all those in Slytherin have the manipulative motive.

You weren’t sure what your motives were in understanding people either, until you finally chose Arithmancy for one of your electives for this year, the other, Divination. You want to be a predictor of sorts, maybe even work in the Department of Mysteries as an Unspeakable. By age 13, you had your goal; almost all of Slytherin felt competitive to have a goal at a young age, you were no exception.

But as known, you lack proper sense of your surroundings. You’re too busy thinking about the Quidditch game that you miss the Gryffindor boy running down the column of space between the Gryffindor and Slytherin table.

It’s like hitting a wall dressed in wool and you rebounded off the boy. Before you fall on your butt though, the Gryffindor boy reaches out to your elbow to steady you.

“Oh, I’m sorry. Are you okay?” After you steady, you look up the boy. Kim Taehyung. Gryffindor beater, same year, Ravenclaw mother, muggle father.

“I’m fine.”

“You’re in my divination class. The one who wrote an eight page essay instead of two about Chinese fortune sticks.” Taehyung gives a boxy grin. With his words and his grin, one would think he’s mocking at your overachieving self. When you turned in the paper, Professor Trelawney had the audacity to tell you that you can take away the extra pages. You had a, unique discussion, about how your analysis couldn’t be compressed into two pages and she needs to take it as is. You handed in all eight pages and got full marks. Exceeds expectations indeed.

But rather than a mocking stance, his tone and his eyes shows something different. Recognition and validation. But you don’t trust that. Not yet.

“Yeah.” You cross your arms and stare up at him, daring him to begin his mockery.

“Don’t tell anyone this, but I’m actually interested in that paper. Would you mind borrowing it to me so I can read it?” You are taken aback. He doesn’t usually show much enthusiasm in class and he only turned in a page and a half for that essay.

“I guess. I can give it to you in class.”

“Great! By the way, who do you think will win today?” What a quick switch of conversation!

“I believe Hufflepuff.”

“Me too. But I think my reasons are not as analytical as yours. I’m just rooting for my friends. But I’ll take your word for it. If they win, I will share with you my winnings.” Ah, so he plans to make a bet for the match.

“You’re using me to make a bet?” You ask with contempt.

“What? No, no! I’m not betting. Well, okay, kind of. Not with money though. With chocolate frog cards. I’m betting with a couple other Gryffindors about the game today. I already made the bet, I’m just seeking for a second opinion to validate it, and you are the best for that!”

“How do you know that my conclusions are accurate?” Not saying that they aren’t, but is he watching you or something?

“Because I seek out the strengths of people I want to befriend.”

Before you could ask him more about his apparent desire to befriend you, he bounds away to his friends who are calling him from the entrance of the Great Hall. He tells you to stay warm as he darts off, this time, he dodges all the people in his way.

But he doesn’t even know your name! He recognizes you as the girl with the eight page paper!

You shake your head and walk over to your spot for breakfast. You put these thoughts off for now. He’s far too enigmatic for you right now. And that bothers you

As predicted by the both of you, for different reasons, Hufflepuff won. You sit down in your seat in the Divination classroom. Before you even take a second breath, Taehyung drops to the table next to yours. He drops 6 chocolate frog cards in front of you.

“These are my winnings. You can choose half and I’ll keep the rest.”

“I have no interest in chocolate frog cards, I don’t collect them. You can keep it all.” You take your essay out of your bag, “But here’s the essay.”

“Thanks. But, do you want anything in return anyway? You’re like a partner for predictions; I’d hate to take away that credit from you.” The credit sure feels good.

“Just return the essay to me when you’re done with it. Thanks.” And with that, Divinations begin and there‘s a test today.

Twenty minutes in the test, your table starts shaking. Your table partner, some Ravenclaw, is bouncing his knee and you grit your teeth in annoyance and look up to hiss at him to quit it. But when you look up, you notice exactly how much he’s shaking as if he’s in a moment of confliction. You study his eye movements and see him darting about to other student’s papers. How dare he think of cheating! He hasn’t noticed your attendance to his thoughts as he darts his eyes back to your paper, three times.

Before you can do or say anything, you see his eyes widen at his paper and you look down too.

If you continue look at other people’s papers and cheat, I will make you grown antlers and so much hair, you trip every step.

You widen your eyes as well, what is that? Who is that?

You look at Trelawney who is busy fiddling with her hands and looking into her pot of tea. All other students are busy scrawling away on their papers except for three people: you, the Ravenclaw, and Taehyung.

You look at Taehyung, who’s in the table over, and he gives you a wink. The Ravenclaw begins to write on his test; it seems that he’s made his choice.

“He would have never followed through, but it was only to ensure it.” Taehyung said to you on the way down the North Tower.

“And how did you catch him cheating?” You asked.

“Your table was bouncing and it was annoying.” You quirk a smile.

“What’s so funny?”

“It’s how I started to notice him cheating too.” You admit. He gives you another boxy grin.

“Why do you want to be my friend?” You ask, nearing the last steps.

“It’s a secret method, but it’s my instinct that you will be a good friend.” It doesn’t satisfy you, but you understand instinct.

“So, friends?” He turns to you and sticks his hand out.

You take it.

“Friends.”

Not one, because friendship to love takes progress that can’t be confined in one scenario, and fanfiction is too chronologically-one-after-another. The request

Summary line: It’s Taehyung’s instinct that you will be a very important person in his life.

Last chapter

The best way you would describe your friendship with Taehyung is “endless shenanigans meets infinite sobriety”. One of the things you learn about Taehyung is that he’s never done searching for a new adventure. What you mean by that is, something like this:

“Y/N! Okay, so you know how I was thinking about how portraits have their own worlds and they can actually travel through portraits? I’m thinking about trying that this summer to grab you and we go to one of those muggle food stops.”

“Tae, remember, that’s only for portrait subjects who can do that. Wizards and witches get painted with the painter’s idea of them to create the character, and then that character has life within the portrait. We cannot turn ourselves into portrait subjects, and if anyone creates us, it’s still not us and we cannot leave the portrait to visit muggle food stops.”

“Okay. So, anyway. I heard a rumor that mermaids actually have a collection of treasures, and the Salazar actually communicated with them about allowing some of his own treasures to be stored there for safe keeping. Slytherin common room can see under the Black Lake, right? Well what if you…”

And that’s what he does.

Sometimes you feel like it’s a blessing and a curse to be his friend. For someone who is not nearly as wide-eyed adventurous as him, it sometimes feels like he just pulls you along like a kite. At the same time, if it isn’t for him, you, as the kite, would never fly so high. His adventures and his ideas keeps you on your toes as well as challenges you to figure out the pattern of his creativity as well as putting your practicality into his goals. You believe it’s one of the reasons he keeps you around, but you keep him around as well, so it’s fair.

Not only does your friendship add color to your life and yield to his, but you see why he is sorted into Gryffindor. There’s a sense of pride you have for having a friend that is so lion-hearted, to find a friend who is so authentically Gryffindor. But sometimes, you wonder if he would do well in Slytherin.

“Well, here we are again, Captain Min.” Taehyung stops in front of you and Yoongi who are walking out of the Great Hall to the Quidditch field. Of all the friends Taehyung has, Yoongi is a Slytherin. You two sometimes stick around each other in silence in the common room due to your mutual friend. You two have unspokenly agreed to be each other’s companion when you two are stuck without friends.

“I’ll see you out there, Taehyung. You better be on your toes, my beater is ready for revenge since you last stopped his girlfriend from scoring a goal.” Yoongi smirked.

“He’s just jealous that your team is no match for my defense/offense skills. It’s my job. And even if his girlfriend was able to dodge my bludger, Seokjin would have caught it. Just face it, Gryffindor is just better.” Taehyung taunted playfully. Yoongi just shook his head.

At this time, the aforementioned couple is walking past you two. The beater bumped shoulders with Taehyung, but before Taehyung can get in a word, Yoongi yanks the boy back and glares him down.

“Apologize to my friend, Bullens.” He says with gritted teeth.

Bullens tries to wretch out of Yoongi’s grasp, but no avail. Behind Yoongi, you also gave him a raised eyebrow, daring him to try anything.

“Sorry.” Bullens looks at Taehyung and Yoongi pushes him away back to his original direction, “Get to the Quidditch field.”

Yoongi turns back to Taehyung and pats him on the shoulder, “I’ll see you out there…be careful.” Taehyung just nods with a smile and Yoongi stalks off, glaring holes into Bullens’ back.

Taehyung looks back to you, “I think you should wear this today during the game.” He puts his scarf around your neck and wraps it around until it covers the bottom half of your face. You pull down the scarf from your face.

“You’re delusional. It’s Slytherin vs. Gryffindor. Why wouldn’t I root for my own house?” You took off the scarf and threw it back at him. He catches it but tries to put it on you again, this time you’re laughing as you raise up your hands to dodge his scarf.

“Aww, come on! It’s a way to cheer up my spirit to know my friend is cheering on for me. If I was a spectator and you were on the team, I would wear something of yours.”

“You do have more friends than just me, you know. If it isn’t for Slytherin against you today, I will definitely wear your scarf when you go against Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff.”

“Yeah but you’re my only girl friend right now. That’s so much more special than my guy friends cheering me on.” You raise your eyebrow at that and you wait until Taehyung catches your lull and his own words.

“M-my friend that’s a girl.” He corrected himself. You two revert back to the silly scarf fight.

You finally take his scarf but you don’t put it on. Instead, you brush your hair behind your ears and show him your amber colored earrings.

“And these don’t match my emerald ensemble either. I got you, okay?”

He pouts, “It’s still not my scarf.” You roll your eyes as you two walk towards the Quidditch field. It’s obvious to him that it’s the best compromise you can come up with.

It’s 80/70, Slytherin to Gryffindor. You cheer so hard for Slytherin, but whenever Taehyung looks at you, you send him a few claps and brush your hair back, making him smile.

A Slytherin chaser zooms past your gaze, making the both of you focus back on the game. The Slytherin chaser ducks under a Gryffindor chaser and moves to the right, past the other Gryffindor beater, and  passes the quaffle to another Slytherin chaser.

The chaser zooms forward towards Taehyung and knocks into him as he passes, making Taehyung fall sideways off his broom.

You gasp and shout out his name as he hangs from his broom. At this time, Bullens beats a bludger towards Taehyung, before Taehyung can see the bludger, it hits him in the ankle. His face contorts in pain as he drops his bat but a Gryffindor chaser grabs it from underneath before it falls to the ground. She flies back up to hand him the bat and use her broom to lift his lower body up so he can sit upright on his broom again. He thanks her and she nods before she zooms off.

That chaser that knocked him off threw the quaffle at the Gryffindor goal post but Seokjin is able to catch it in time. His handsome face is contorted as he throws the quaffle as hard as he can as it bounces off the chaser’s head and into a Gryffindor chaser’s arms.

For the rest of the game, you can’t focus on the game anymore. Your eyes focus on Taehyung, Bullens, and that Slytherin chaser.

Yoongi caught the snitch. Despite the Slytherin’s victory, the first thing Yoongi did when his team land on the field is grab and throw the Slytherin chaser onto the ground. The rest of the team had to pull him back from beating him up.

“Not only is he my friend, but I will not tolerate anyone who tarnishes the Slytherin house by acting so despicable. Laps around outside the Quidditch field. 20. Don’t even think about walking 3 feet away from this field until you’re done, unless you want to be off the team. I want you to know what it feels like to have your feet give out.” Yoongi seethes with anger as he points to the exit. Bullens clutches onto his bleeding nose and the chaser at his bruised cheek as they run off.

Yoongi sees you coming in and he walks away from the team to go over to you as you two run off to the Gryffindor gate at the field to see how Taehyung is doing.

Once you get there, his other friends are already there. To both your surprise, he’s laughing as he pats Jimin’s hand that’s on his knee.

“It’s not that bad.”

“Not bad? You’re on an infirmary stretcher!” Namjoon protests.

“Seokjin’s just over-careful to call Madam Pomfrey. I can probably walk there.”

“Is that right?” Seokjin crosses him arm. Taehyung gives him a boxy grin and makes grabby hands towards Seokjin, “I’m just letting you guys know that you don’t need to worry about me. I’m grateful that I don’t have to walk.”

“Uh-huh.” Seokjin cocks an eyebrow.

The boys all help carry his stretcher out of the Quidditch field as you trail after them.

“I feel like you’re all pallbearers for me right now.” Taehyung laughs.

“Oh, shut up. Patients should save their breath.” You flick his forehead.

At this time, Bullens and the chaser had just come around their second lap. Fire burns up from your toes to your head when you see them and you grab Taehyung’s bat that’s lying on his stomach.

As they run towards you guys, you walk closer to meet them a fraction of the way and start beating the both of them with the bat.

“What. The. Hell. Is. Wrong. With. You. Two?!!! You two should know better. How dare you call yourself a Slytherin? You’re not worthy if you resort to such underhanded ways to win. That’s not way of a Slytherin!” You continue to yell out profanities until you feel hands grabbing you by the arms.

“Y/N! Y/N! Stop, they still need to finish their laps.” Jimin pulls you away from the two boys. The boys had put down Taehyung’s stretcher to hold you off, well except Yoongi, who still has his arms crossed, glaring at the boys.

“Screw the laps. They need a beating.”

“I think the laps are good enough. Especially after your beating.” Yoongi smirks and nods over to them so you look over to look more closely at your work. Bullens used to only have a bloody nose and the chaser only had a bruised cheek. Now the chaser’s head is swollen and he’s rubbing his arm. Bullens has two black eyes and he’s clutching to both his stomach and his nose.

“You still have 18 more laps. I suggest you get going before you miss supper.” Yoongi commands.

“Yoongi, come on! We need to go to the infirmary now too! We can’t do your laps.”

“I don’t care, she didn’t beat your legs. I gave you an order. Whatever Y/N did to you was outside of anyone’s prediction. As far as I can tell, you still have my order to follow. Go. You can go to the infirmary afterwards.”  Yoongi points as they both grumble and get up. The rest of you go on your way.

“I’m still confounded by their actions. How dare they act so appallingly?” You can’t stop your anger even when Taehyung finally settled in an actual infirmary bed. Seokjin and Hoseok took you outside of the infirmary to calm down as Madam Pomfrey took a look at Taehyung.

“Y/N, do you know that Moreau likes you?” Seokjin asks you about the chaser.

“Moreau? No. He’s never spoken to me in his life. And why does that matter? What makes him think that hurting my friend would ever help his case? I will never befriend, much less date, someone who doesn’t think through like that and acts so stupidly.” You threw your hands up.

“Kind of like Taehyung?” Hoseok asks you.

“No, Taehyung is an honorable guy, still. Moreau acts out of reasons beyond me and acts in such a way that puts a bad name to Slytherin. Taehyung is a reckless adventurer, but he’s still brave, noble, chivalrous, and daring. He might not think things through all the time, but he doesn’t act on his recklessness until he collects  the right information to go about, and that’s why I’m there for him. At least he can be a true Gryffindor; that merits him credit.” You blew your hair out of your face and shake your head as you look down over the stairwell balcony.

Seokjin and Hoseok look at each other with a grin on both their faces. You know what they were thinking, what they were insinuating. But all of that is beyond your concerns. Taehyung is your friend, and Moreau’s jealousy for whatever he sees in you and Taehyung is beyond you. You don’t have to explain yourself. You tap on their arm and have them move out the way.

“Come on, let’s see what Madam Pomfrey has to say about Taehyung.”

“Not bad, not bad at all. Just overnight, and you’ll be well enough to make it to first period tomorrow.” Madam Pomfrey pats Taehyung on the shoulder and moves out of the way for the rest of you  to crowd around his bed. He grumbles about hoping to skip out tomorrow.

“Don’t complain. It’s a good thing it’s not that bad.” You smack him on the arm. He salutes you, “Yes, m’am.”

“You better listen to Y/N, Taehyung, or else she’ll beat you with the beater bat.” Jungkook laughs. You glare up at him.

“Yeah, Y/N, who knew you had it in you. They’re probably in worse state than Taehyung now.” Namjoon joins in Jungkook’s chuckles.

“Hey, Y/N, can you hit my ankle too? Just enough for me to stay in for a week.” Taehyung hands you his bat and wiggles his eyebrows at you.

You grab the bat and lightly tap his head.

“What the hell, Tae? No chance. And anyways, if you have to stay here for a week, what happens to your plans for swimming with the giant squid this weekend? You don’t want to be bedridden for a week.” You frown at him and he returns one to you, “You’re right. I want to feed him. What do giant squids eat again?”

“Worms and small shellfish.”

“Well, I mean, he’s giant. Any shellfish to him is small.” Taehyung shrugs.

“Shrimp, Taehyung. He’ll eat shrimp, clams, and other mollusks.”  He nods at you.

“Well, we’ll leave you two now. Supper is soon. We’ll visit you afterwards.” The boys wave bye to Taehyung and looks at you to see if you’ll join them. You shake your head and they wave bye to you too.

“Moreau and Bullens have such nerve.” You huff as you sat down next to Taehyung.

“You’re not over it, yet? Come on, Y/N. It’s over. They’re battered, bruised, and probably exhausted and passed out outside the field by now.” He pats your hand that’s next to his.

“Seokjin tells me that Moreau likes me. He’s an idiot if he thinks hurting you will make me notice him in any good light.” Taehyung looks at you and smiles, “I know he likes you.”

“So stupid.” Taehyung just smiles at you.

“I’m actually surprised that you didn’t hit a couple bludgers back at them.”

“Why? I don’t need to. Seokjin hit Moreau’s head, Yoongi made them do laps, and you hit them enough for me. A smart man doesn’t need to even lift a finger when he’s got friends like you guys.”

“How clever of you.” You squint at him, marking that bit of Slytherin in him.

“I’m just a smart man.” Taehyung grins.

“Smart boy.” You stand up and pat his head. He stops your hand from rubbing his head.

“I’m a man.”

“You’re 16. If you were a man, you wouldn’t have to defend yourself.” You flick his forehead with your other hand.

He tugs your scarf to pull you closer to him, “You’ll see. One day, you’ll say your friend is a smart man.”

You tug your scarf away from his grasp and lightly smack him with it, “It’s supper time. Enjoy your hospital gruel.” Taehyung moans at the thought of his hospital food as you laugh. You walk out of the infirmary with steady steps, but you’re still flustered at how close he pulled you. Not because there’s anything between you guys…it’s just, you’re just usually not that close, you know?

The request

Summary line: It’s Taehyung’s instinct that you will be a very important person in his life.

Last chapter

Over time, you catch yourself being more relaxed with Taehyung more than anything. Your guard is down because you trust him enough now. What do you trust him with? That part of you that is actually a lot like him.

You can’t tell whether it’s always been there and he’s just bringing it out of you, or it’s because he influences you enough that you start to seem more like him.

What’s similar? There’s a spark of creativity and spontaneity.

“Hurry up, Y/N, This is Yoongi’s patrolling corridor. He’s a fast walker.” Taehyung hisses at you behind him. You huff as you reach to his back, leaning forward with him to check the coast is clear. Your cheek is just brushing his cloak. He swiftly moves back, which makes you press your cheek against his shoulder as he pushes you behind him. You grumble as you rub your cheek, “Watch it.”

“Sorry.”

You both check again for the coast is clear and speed walk down the hall. You two are almost at the end of the hall and you hear sounds again. This time, it’s footsteps.

You take Taehyung’s hands and have him hold on you as you point your wand up and do a silent spell, lifting the both of you up and land on a flat surface above the arch. It’s not necessarily meant to hold up two student’s weight, so you keep yourself slightly afloat, with the surface just to be your safeguard.

Yoongi is below you guys, passing by the corridor as swiftly as you both have anticipated. As he passes, the both of you don’t hesitate to lean forward and basically let your bodies swing upside down like bats to peer down through the arch to see it’s empty.

The both of you guys look at each other and grin, giggling at both of your hair stick out.

You two finally reach the Black Lake. Taehyung pulls out his thermos and rolls up his pants to walk into the Black, Lake. When he’s far enough, he dips the thermos down to get some water, as well as search blindly underwater for the squishy soil.

“Hurry up.” You put your hand down and swipe water at him. He looks at you with an incredulous look and you couldn’t help but giggle.

He takes his hand and swoops even more water at you but you easily form a quick shield to deflect the droplets.

“You’re awfully giddy tonight, aren’t you?” Taehyung asks as he closes the thermos and makes his way back to land. You have a brush of pine in your hand that you picked up and you brush his face the moment he reaches to you.

“Yeah, I don’t know. Maybe it’s the sneaking out. It’s exciting.”

“Right?! I’ve only ever gotten caught like twice, once by Yoongi, the other time by Namjoon. I make sure that I won’t get caught by Hoseok. Hoseok swears he will have me wear my underwear on my head as I make it back to the dorm. He’s done that to other students out of bed before.”

“I’ll make sure I stay out of his way too.” You shiver at the thought.

“Oh, he probably wouldn’t do that to you, but, yeah, still stay out of his way.”

You two make your way to the Whomping Willow and he immobilizes the tree so you can both enter in the secret passage to the Shrieking Shack.

When you two arrive, he sits down in the middle of the bedroom floor and you go grab the items you two have stored here previously for safe keeping.

This is kind of your experiment lab. Things that Taehyung wants to do, and you figure that there is merit to his theory and you’re willing to try and test it out with him.

This experiment is to see if you can create a map of the Black Lake without even fully exploring it on first perspective.

You’ve collected slivers and little chunks of flesh from all the types of creatures that lived in the Black Lake. Of course, these parts have come from previously collected inventories. The both of you agreed that this is supposed to be an exploratory experiment, and neither of you would harm another living creature to obtain your goals for this.

You two have also collected other materials that you wanted to test out your speculation of what else could be down there. Taehyung couldn’t let go of the possibilities of the mermaid’s treasure, so he includes gold in the inventory. You also want to track if there were any unknown creatures in the depths of the lake, so it took you a while to figure out a spell to do so.

Within a rectangular boundary on the floor, Taehyung dumps the wet soil from the shallows of the Black Lake in the center, and pours the lake water out of the thermos and keeps it afloat above the imminent map. You take out your inventory of creature parts, gold, and other items that you two were curious if they were in the Black Lake. You set them aside next to the map boundaries.

By the wave of your wand and a mumbled spell, the soil disperses itself from the mound and spreads itself all over the floor, settling in places, some spots with more soil than others to demonstrate the depth or shallowness of the lake. Some items on the side start to roll its way into the boundaries of the map and settle in certain areas. Stationary items were such as gold, herbs and other potion-making ingredients that can be found in water stay in one area, while creature parts such as mermaid scales, the giant squid ink, and grindylows tentacles would be moving in all sorts of places, demonstrating live-tracking of the creatures. Lastly, the water slowly drops down to the map and fills up the rest of the map.

“Yes!” Taehyung jumps up and cheers around the room, “I told you Salazar has treasure in there.”

“This is just gold. We now know there’s gold in the Black Lake. We don’t know if it’s Salazar’s treasure though.” You remind him. He quickly sits off to the side of the room and leans back on the wall, still with a giddy smile, shaped rectangular like the map.

“You’re right.” He grins anyway. He’s just happy there is something down there to explore.

You get up and walk over to slide down next to him. You rest your head on his shoulder and he rests his head on yours. You two just stare at your animated map on the floor.

Taehyung whips out his wand and charms the map to retain its shape forever and brings it over to him so he can actually hold it in his hands like a map.

“This is really cool.” He looks at the floating pieces of grindylow and mermaids quite close together while the giant squid is floating elsewhere on the map. The treasure is at a far corner of the map, but there are many mermaid scales still floating nearby.

“So when can we go explore the real thing?”

You sigh. You look over to the inactive creature parts that are still resting on the floor, indicating that there are no such creatures in the Black Lake. From what you can tell, creature-wise, the biggest threats are the guards of the treasure. The Black Lake doesn’t indicate any sentient vegetation that defends the lake either.

“When do you want to go? After this month.”

“Why? Are you…uh, in your monthly thing?” You gasp and move your head away to hit him on the shoulder, “No. And that’s none of your business. I just don’t want to go right now.” You rest your head on his shoulder again. He shrugs with his other shoulder. He knows that you are not nearly as active as he is. He takes you out in small doses at a time. And he won’t take anyone else because he always says this is something only for you two.

He feels your head starting to feel heavy, indicating your relaxed or exhausted. He puts his hand in his pocket to take out a little can of strawberries.

“Want one?” He takes a strawberry and brings it to your lips, and you open your mouth for him to feed you.

“No more. I want to go back and sleep.” He hums in agreement and snacks on the remaining strawberries before putting the can back. He nudges you to move your head off his shoulder and gets up to help you up.

“Carry me!” You make grabby hands up at him with your eyes still closed. He stares at you a bit before sighing.

He takes the map and temporarily condenses the 3D map into paper form. He rolls it up to put in his pocket. He turns around for you to jump on his back and he piggy backs you out of the Shrieking Shack.

“Why do you always smell like Kneazle’s fur?” He asks all of the sudden.

“I own one at home. I didn’t bring him because I chose my owl.”

“What?! How come you never told me? Can I come over during the summer and see him?”

“I guess.”

He groans from your weight, “If you weren’t so cute when you’re tired, I wouldn’t carry you.”

“Shut up,” You tiredly smack him on the shoulder, “If you don’t carry me, I’ll never let you near my Kneazle.”

“In that case, I’ll never let you down.”

You flick him on his head and he lets out a sound of protest, but that’s about it. Despite all the harmless banter, you couldn’t help feel that blush rise up to your cheeks. You nuzzle your cheek closer on his back as you hold tighter to him. He takes that as you making sure you didn’t fall, but there was a truth you can no longer deny.

You never acted like this with anyone: silly, playful, or cuddly in any sense of the word. You knew that Taehyung is the only one who could make you feel this way. To make you feel love.

But at the same time, you know it’s as you say “harmless banter”. He doesn’t like you like this. You can only hope that he won’t feel your silent tear moisten his robes.

“Let’s see…one frozen Ashwinder egg, turns creamy yellow. Three chopped rose thorns or more until potion turns dark purple. Four teaspoons of moonstone powder, stir until shimmery green. Seven ounces of pearl dust. Five pinches of peppermint and let it simmer until shimmery light blue. Add crushed two daisies and eight lovage together. And finally, titrate honeywater until steam is spiraling and the potion is has mother-of-pearl sheen.” Taehyung mumbles to himself as the potions class is creating the Amortentia potion individually.

This potions class is Gryffindor and Hufflepuff, so you’re not in the same class. Which sucks, because he wouldn’t have to read the potions book. All he has to do is watch you.

Nevertheless, Taehyung dutifully works on his potion in silence. Being the less-than-over-achiever, higher-than-underachiever, that he is, he’s one of the students who finishes a little before half of the students. Now that the Amortentia is finished, he looks around the room and looks at the other students who’ve finished.

All those who are finished, including his friends, Seokjin, Namjoon, and Hoseok, they are all peacefully resting their head in their hands as they loom over their Amortentia potion, smelling it like it’s a drug.

Taehyung shrugs and pulls up his own stool to loom over his own. Since he’s got time to day dream, why not do it with a nice scent.

When he finally pays attention to a whiff of his potion, he finally notices the smell all throughout the room. He smells strawberries, Kneazles fur, and fresh pine.

He snaps his head up. Luckily for him, no one else in the room is paying attention to his straightened posture.

He gets it.

At first, he thought it was simply because you two ate strawberries and you brushed his face with the pine branch last night. You smelled like Kneazles fur, but it was not quite all that you were. He thought last night’s smell was just a coincidence of events as he rested his head on yours and piggy-backed you back to the Slytherin common room.

This is exactly the same mix of scents that he smelled on your hair last night and the first moment he’s bumped into you.
