Hidden in the private dorms of the Potions Apprentice Quarters, you sit on the floor in the common room. Large, arched windows litter one side of the room, charmed - just like the Great Hall’s ceiling - to reflect the weather outside of the castle. Though, unlike the Great Hall, the charm could be turned off at will - allowing a magnificent, if not eerie, view of the underwaters of the Black Lake and all of its creatures. Currently, the charm is off, and the lake’s murky waters cast a dark hue to the room, bathing everything with a dark-teal tinge. Dark, crushed-velvet curtains drape down from the ceiling, the velour fabric only adding to the ominous scene of the Black Lake.
Despite the dismally grim sight of the lake, the rest of the common room is pleasant, and homely - if a little cold. With the space shared by all Potion’s Apprentices, from years eight to ten, regardless of the house, the interior is decorated in shades of black and grey rather than Hogwarts House colours. Dark, almost black, wenge wood furniture litters the room: from the large beams that run across the ceiling - holding onto the chandeliers, to the towering bookcases that fringe one wall of the room - brimming with rare potion tomes; as well as the glass-lined cabinets that cluster one corner of the room - teeming with vials and flasks of all sorts of potioneering ingredients.

This is the story of Y/n Sirius Potter, the twin brother of Harry James Potter, and his journey of finding himself and discovering his purpose in life and becoming part of something bigger than he'd ever imagined, oh and he also might find love with a blond boy called Draco Malfoy.

The door swung open at once. A tall, black-haired witch in emerald-green robes stood there. She had a very stern face, and Harry’s first thought was that this was not someone to cross. Yet she sported a warm gaze in her hard eyes. When her eyes landed on a few of the first years, her posture softened before turning back into a statue. Y/n knew from that moment he liked her.
“The firs’ years, Professor McGonagall,” said Hagrid, his voice a bit gruff.
“Thank you, Hagrid. I will take them from here.” She pulled the door wide. Y/n gasped and took in the surroundings. The entrance hall was so big you could have fit the whole of the Dursleys’ house in it. The stone walls were lit with flaming torches, like the ones at Gringotts, the ceiling was too high to make out, and a magnificent marble staircase facing them led to the upper floors.
They followed Professor McGonagall across the flagged stone floor, their footsteps echoed, and Y/n smiled. He could hear the drone of hundreds of voices from a doorway to the right — the rest of the school must already be here — but Professor McGonagall showed the first years into a small, empty chamber off the hall. They crowded in, standing rather closer together than they would usually have done, peering about nervously.
“Welcome to Hogwarts,” said Professor McGonagall. “The start-of-term banquet will begin shortly, but before you take your seats in the Great Hall, you will be sorted into your Houses. The Sorting is a very important ceremony because, while you are here, your House will be something like your family within Hogwarts. You will have classes with the rest of your House, sleep in your House dormitory, and spend free time in your House common room.”
“The four Houses are called Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Each House has its own noble history and each has produced outstanding witches and wizards. While you are at Hogwarts, your triumphs will earn your House points, while any rule-breaking will lose House points. At the end of the year, the House with the most points is awarded the House Cup, a great honor. I hope each of you will be a credit to whichever House becomes yours.” “The Sorting Ceremony will take place in a few minutes in front of the rest of the school. I suggest you all smarten yourselves up as much as you can while you are waiting.”
Her eyes lingered for a moment on Neville’s cloak, which was fastened under his left ear, and on Ron’s smudged nose, and a young chubby red-headed girl’s messy hair. Y/n and Harry shared a glance and then nervously tried to flatten their hair.
“I shall return when we are ready for you,” said Professor McGonagall. “Please wait quietly.” She left the chamber. Harry swallowed. “How exactly do they sort us into Houses?” he asked Ron. “Some sort of test, I think. Fred said it hurts a lot, but I think he was joking.” Y/n’s heart gave a horrible jolt. A test? In front of the whole school? But he or Harry didn’t know any magic yet — what on earth would they have to do? He hadn’t expected something like this the moment they arrived. He looked around anxiously and saw that everyone else looked terrified, too. No one was talking much except Hermione Granger, who was whispering very fast about all the spells she’d learned and wondering which one she’d need.
Harry tried hard not to listen to her, while Y/n also went over what spells he might need and tried to remember the wand movement, but did it in his head. He’d never been more nervous, never, not even when he’d had to take a school report home to the Dursleys saying that he’d somehow turned his teacher’s wig blue. He kept his eyes fixed on the door. Any second now, Professor McGonagall would come back and lead him and his brother to his doom.
Then something happened that made him jump about a foot in the air — several people behind him screamed.
“What the — ?” He gasped. So did the people around him. About twenty ghosts had just streamed through the back wall. Pearly-white and slightly transparent, they glided across the room talking to one another and hardly glancing at the first years. Y/n jumped into Harry, trying to avoid the ghosts that seemed to be arguing.
What looked like a fat little monk was saying: “Forgive and forget, I say, we ought to give him a second chance —”
“My dear Friar, haven’t we given Peeves all the chances he deserves? He gives us all a bad name and you know, he’s not really even a ghost — I say, what are you all doing here?”
A ghost wearing a ruff and tights had suddenly noticed the first years. Nobody answered. “New students!” said the Fat Friar, smiling around at them. “About to be Sorted, I suppose?” A few people nodded mutely.
“Hope to see you in Hufflepuff!” said Friar. “My old House, you know.” Y/n smiled at the ghost as the Friar winked at him.
“Move along now,” said a sharp voice. “The Sorting Ceremony is about to start.” Professor McGonagall had returned. One by one, the ghosts floated away through the opposite wall.
“Now, form a line,” Professor McGonagall told the first years, “and follow me.”
Feeling oddly as though his legs had turned to lead, Y/n got into line behind a boy with brown hair with the girl with auburn-hair behind him, and Ron was in front of him, and Harry was in front of Ron, behind a boy with sandy hair, and they walked out of the chamber, back across the hall, and through a pair of double doors into the Great Hall.
Y/n had never even imagined such a strange and splendid place. It was lit by thousands and thousands of candles that were floating in midair over four long tables, where the rest of the students were sitting. These tables were laid with glittering golden plates and goblets. At the top of the hall was another long table where the teachers were sitting. Professor McGonagall led the first years up here, so that they came to a halt in a line facing the other students, with the teachers behind them. The hundreds of faces staring at them looked like pale lanterns in the flickering candlelight. Dotted here and there among the students, the ghosts shone misty silver. Mainly to avoid all the staring eyes, Y/n looked upward and saw a velvety black ceiling dotted with stars. He smiled and he heard Hermione whisper, “It’s bewitched to look like the sky outside. I read about it in Hogwarts: A History.”
It was hard to believe there was a ceiling there at all, and that the Great Hall didn’t simply open on to the heavens.
Y/n quickly looked down again as Professor McGonagall silently placed a four-legged stool in front of the first years. On top of the stool she put a pointed wizard’s hat. This hat was patched and frayed and extremely dirty. Aunt Petunia wouldn’t have let it in the house.
Maybe they had to try and get a rabbit out of it, Y/n thought wildly, that seemed the sort of thing — noticing that everyone in the hall was now staring at the hat, he stared at it, too. For a few seconds, there was complete silence.
Then the hat twitched. A rip near the brim opened wide like a mouth — and the hat began to sing:
“Oh, you may not think I’m pretty,
But don’t judge on what you see, I’ll eat myself if you can find
A smarter hat than me. You can keep your bowlers black, Your top hats sleek and tall, For I’m the Hogwarts Sorting Hat And I can cap them all.
There’s nothing hidden in your head The Sorting Hat can’t see, So try me on and I will tell you Where you ought to be.
You might belong in Gryffindor, Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve, and chivalry Set Gryffindors apart;
You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true
And unafraid of toil;
Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,
If you’ve a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind;
Or perhaps in Slytherin
You’ll make your real friends,
Those cunning folk use any means
To achieve their ends.
So put me on! Don’t be afraid!
And don’t get in a flap!
You’re in safe hands (though I have none) For I’m a Thinking Cap!”
The whole hall burst into applause as the hat finished its song. It bowed to each of the four tables and then became quite still again.
“So we’ve just got to try on the hat!” Y/n heard Ron whisper to Harry. “I’ll kill Fred, he was going on about wrestling a troll.”
Y/n smiled weakly. Yes, trying on the hat was a lot better than having to do a spell, but he did wish they could have tried it on without everyone watching. The hat seemed to be asking rather a lot; Y/n didn’t feel brave or quick-witted or any of it at the moment. If only the hat had mentioned a House for people who felt a bit queasy, that would have been the one for him.
Professor McGonagall now stepped forward holding a long roll of parchment.
“When I call your name, you will put on the hat and sit on the stool to be sorted,” she said. “Abbott, Hannah!” A pink-faced girl with blonde pigtails stumbled out of line, put on the hat, which fell right down over her eyes, and sat down. A moment’s pause — “HUFFLEPUFF!” shouted the hat.
The table on the right cheered and clapped as Hannah went to sit down at the Hufflepuff table. Y/n saw the ghost of the Fat Friar waving merrily at her, and Y/n watched as older Hufflepuffs greeted and welcomed the girl.
“Bones, Susan!”
“HUFFLEPUFF!” shouted the hat again, and Susan scuttled off to sit next to Hannah, and just like Hannah, the Hufflepuffs greeted and welcomed her as well. Throughout the ceremony, with each sorting of Hufflepuff, they would greet and welcome their new housemate.
“Boot, Terry!”
“RAVENCLAW!”
The table second from the left clapped this time; several Ravenclaws stood up to shake hands with Terry as he joined them. “Brocklehurst, Mandy” went to Ravenclaw too, but
“Brown, Lavender” became the first new Gryffindor, and the table on the far left exploded with cheers; Harry could see Ron’s twin brothers catcalling.
“Bulstrode, Millicent” then became a Slytherin. And Y/n watched as a few Slytherin’s greeted the girl and welcomed her to their house. Although some of the older students did look a bit unpleasant and bored.
Y/n was starting to feel definitely sick now. He remembered how he and Harry were picked for teams during gym at his old school. And they’d always been last to be chosen, not because they were no good, but because no one wanted Dudley to think they liked them.
“Douglas, Charlie,”
The brunette boy Y/n shared a boat and walked out from the crowd of first years. He looked nervous and glanced at the hat and gulped. He sat on the stool and Professor McGonagall placed the hat on his head and he jumped slightly, and his green eyes became wide.
“SLYTHERIN!”
The boy looked relieved and his shoulder relaxed and he smiled at the Slytherin table, he looked pleased and walked over to them.
“Finch-Fletchley, Justin!”
“HUFFLEPUFF!”
Sometimes, Y/n noticed, the hat shouted out the House at once, but at others it took a little while to decide. “Finnigan, Seamus,” the sandy-haired boy next to Harry in the line, sat on the stool for almost a whole minute before the hat declared him a Gryffindor.
“Fawcett, Sarah,”
A girl with tawny brown hair and eyes, strode up to the stool and sat down.
“RAVENCLAW!!” Cheers from the Ravenclaw table sounded and she smiled widely before she jumped off the chair.
“Granger, Hermione!”
Hermione almost ran to the stool and jammed the hat eagerly on her head. “GRYFFINDOR!” shouted the hat. Ron groaned. Y/n clapped for her and gave her an encouraging smile. She smiled at him, before striding over to the Gryffindor table and sitting down next to a boy with the same ginger hair as Ron and his twin brothers.
A horrible thought struck Y/n, as horrible thoughts always do when you’re very nervous. What if he wasn’t chosen at all? What if he just sat there with the hat over his eyes for ages, until Professor McGonagall jerked it off his head and said there had obviously been a mistake and he’d better get back on the train?
When Neville Longbottom, the boy who kept losing his toad, was called, he fell over on his way to the stool. The hat took a long time to decide with Neville. When it finally shouted, “GRYFFINDOR,” Neville ran off still wearing it, and had to jog back amid gales of laughter to give it to: “Malfoy, Draco,”
Malfoy swaggered forward when his name was called and got his wish at once: the hat had barely touched his head when it screamed, “SLYTHERIN!” Malfoy went to join his friends Crabbe and Goyle, looking pleased with himself.
There weren’t many people left now.
“Moon, Aurora,” . . . , “Nott, Theodore,” . . . , “Parkinson, Pansy,” . . . , then a pair of twin girls, “Patil, Padama” and “Patil, Parvarti,” . . . , then “Perks, Sally-Anne” . . . , and then, at last —
“Potter, Harry!” As Harry stepped forward, whispers suddenly broke out like little hissing fires all over the hall.
“Potter, did she say?”
“The Harry Potter?”
“Where’s his brother, Y/n Potter?”
“The Potter twins?”
Y/n’s cheeks became inflamed as eyes in the Hall eyed his twin and started looking for him. There were only a few students after him and soon he would be sorted. Y/n watched as Harry shuffled over to the stole and the hat. He watched his brother speak to the hat for a few minutes before the hat shouted: “GRYFFINDOR!!”
The Gryffindor table exploded in cheers as Harry smiled widely. He looked happy and relieved that he was put in Gryffindor, and he slipped the hat off his head and walked over to the table as the Gyffindor’s cheered and the Weasley twins shouted: “We got Potter!! We got Potter!!” and Harry had his hand shaken by a Weasley.
“Potter, Y/n,”
The hall became quiet again, and everyone’s eyes were trained on his form as Y/n gulped and walked off to the stool. He sat on the four-legged stool and blushed at the eyes that were on him. Professor McGongall sat the hat down on his head and he jumped at the voice that he heard in his head.
“Ah! Potter! Unlike your brother, who would’ve done well in Slytherin, you do not. No, I see a heart full of loyalty, bravery, honesty . . . a heart of gold, eh? Kindness is flowing through your veins, just like your mother,”
Y/n perked up at the mention of his mother and he felt his heart become heavy.
“Yes, though you’ll do good in Gryffindor, I see more . . . . yes, that’s where I’ll put you,” This time the hat spoke aloud and shouted: “HUFFLEPUFF!!!”

The hall was silent; everyone stared for a brief moment until Professor McGonagall started clapping. Slowly, the other professors at the high table on the raised dais joined in. Y/n didn’t know what to do. He was frozen—at a standstill. While the table under the yellow banner with a badger applauded and cheered with smiles, he never felt so unwelcome.
Y/n didn’t notice that the stern professor had removed the old raggedy hat until she urged him off the rickety chair. He didn’t notice his legs moving on their own. Poor Y/n couldn’t hear anything. It was all muffled. As if someone was cupping his ears, shutting him out from the world into a plain of silence. His e/c eyes were glued on Harry. His twin was staring at him with a pained expression. Of course he was sad, thought Y/n bitterly. Why didn’t that talking hat put me in Gryffindor?
Ever so slowly, Y/n started moving towards the table of his new house. Eyes from the Gryffindor table watched his movements as he slunked towards the long rectangular table. Behind him, Professor McGonagall continued to call out names for each new student to be sorted. Once he reached the table, many eyes and faces greeted him with smiles. They were happy; he realised. Happy to have snatched one of the Potters. Though they did not boast about it like Harry’s house, you could see the joy each one had.
Before Y/n could sit down, a tall boy with black wavy hair and sky-blue eyes stood up, drawing attention temporarily from Y/n but in the end winded back to being on the young Potter. The boy stopped in front of Y/n and he watched with a terrified expression on his face.
“‘Ello Potter! The name’s Oliver Benedict, and I’m the seventh year Prefect of Hufflepuff House. If you need anything at all, please come straight towards me. And welcome to Hufflepuff.” Y/n watched in silence as he smiled and gestured to the table behind him. The tall creature smiled too much, which made shivers climb up his spine. Y/n wanted to say hello or nice to meet you, or possibly anything. But alas, all he said was: “Um… w-where d-do I-sit at?” His e/c eyes wandered over the table, trying to figure out where he was supposed to go. He knew from primary school that each table had a group. And he was able to figure out which group was friendly and which one was not. However, there were no multiple tables for Hufflepuff. Just one long rectangular table that had a handful of students.
“Oh, right!” Oliver cleared his throat and pointed to a small group at the end of the table. “You can sit there with the other first years, or—” He pointed to the front. “You sit with us, seventh and sixth years.”
Y/n pointed to the rest of the first years. “I think I’ll sit with them; the other first years.” He said shyly. His eyes flickered down to his hands as he fiddled with the black robes of his uniform.
“Of course, of course.” Oliver chuckled. “Remember now, if you need anything—and I mean anything at all, please come to me and I shall be glad to help you.” With one last friendly smile, Oliver went back to his original seat before Y/n sluggishly walked up to the group of first years.
He quickly took a seat next to a girl with auburn hair. The girl turned her head to look at him. Her eyes were crystal blue, and she took in Y/n. He smiled, awkwardly. She returned the sentiment and tucked a copper strand of hair behind her ear.
“Hullo, I’m Rosemary.” She had a bit of an Irish accent, but it wasn’t so prominent. Rosemary held out her hand. “And you are??”
Y/n took her hand in his.
“I’m—”
“That Y/n Potter, that is!” exclaimed a boy with blond hair. He was leaning across the table, staring at Y/n closely. His brown eyes were glued to his scar, making Y/n want to cover it up with his hair.
“If you don’t know who he is, you must be daft!”
Rosemary glared at the boy. “And you must be rude to interrupt our conversation, y’know!” She spat venomously.
The boy next to the rude one simply stared at Y/n.
“I don’t know who you are.” He said quietly. “I’m Justin Finch-Fletchy.” He held his hand out. Y/n took it. “I’m Y/n Potter.”
“How is it you don’t know who he is, Justin??” cried out the blond. “You muggle-born or somethin’?” Justin blushed, his cheeks were the colour of beets.
“Yes. I-I am. Do you have a problem with that?” Justin’s voice quivered slightly.
“No! ‘Course not! Just cause I’m a pureblood doesn’t mean I believe all that rubbish!”
Rosemary rolled her eyes.
“Anyway, I’m Ernie. Ernie Macmallin. Nice to meet you, Justin. Potter.” Ernie purposefully left out Rosemary to goad her, and she knew it too. Glaring at the blond pimple, she scoffed before introducing herself to Justin.
Y/n watched as Professor McGonagall rolled up her scroll and took the sorting hat after a boy named “Zabini” was the last one to be sorted. Soon the hall grew quiet around Y/n as the man sitting at the high table on the raised dais stood up, raising his hands to draw everyone’s attention.
“Welcome new and returning students!” His voice was soft yet strong at the same time, plus his long white beard reminded Y/n of Father Time. He, like the rest of wizards and witches apparently, wore bright purple robes with blue and burgundy embellishments and embroidery in the fabric. On his head seemed to be an overly large nightcap. “Before we start feasting, I would like to say a few words: Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!”
Laughter boomed through the hall, and Y/n looked around the hall as he said those odd words. His brows were furrowed, confusion laced in his eyes. Was he supposed to laugh? If so, those words weren’t funny. In fact, they were rather strange. Strange word choice. He didn’t like the way the old wizard’s eyes twinkled. It made him shudder.
“He’s a bit loony, huh?” questioned Rosemary. “My mum thinks so,” whispered a girl with blonde pig-tails. “Dumbledore, loony? Reckon you’re loony if you think the best wizard in the world is loony himself!” claimed Ernie.
“Thank you, and have a wonderful feast!” He raised a hand and suddenly, dishes appeared. A plate and silverware and goblet materialised in front of him, making Y/n gasp and stare wide-eyed.
“Whoa,” he whispered. Food started being passed around and lively chatter filled the hall. Soon, food was piled on his plate, drawing some looks from other Hufflepuffs—though Y/n did not care. He was busy eating. He never, in his entire eleven-years of life, has ever seen this much food that he could eat! Harry would be lucky to see him tomorrow and not nursing a food-coma.
As he shovelled food into his mouth, Y/n missed the glances he received from others. A few Ravenclaws whispered behind their hands, a few Hufflepuffs elbowed each other and pointed, while some Slytherins watched on. Gryffindor house was the only ones that did not notice, for they were too busy being occupied by their new member.
“Y/n, would you like some potatoes?” He looked up and nodded. “Thanks, Rosemary,” she smiled in return. “No problem,” She brushed her red locks behind her ear.
“So, Potter, did you and your brother really kill You-Know-Who?” The table became silent. The only ones who spoke were the 7th and 6th years who were far down and didn’t hear. Y/n froze and hesitantly looked up from his plate. His housemates were either staring at him, waiting for his answer, or they were sending glares at Macmillian—Rosemary was in the latter, her fists clenched—and a tense silence was cast on the table.
Before Y/n could give his answer, someone interrupted him.
“Oh, shut your trap Macmillian, ye old geezer!” snapped a voice full of a Scottish burr. “The next time a hear any incentive thing comin’ outta yer mouth, a’ll kick yer arse maself!” A tall and muscular girl gripped the rude blond boy by the ear, yanking on him as her eyes, full of fury, was directed on him. “Shame on you for bein’ an old cocker!” Giggles and snorts were heard all around Y/n, as his new housemates laughed at Macmillian.
“Mary!! Put me down!!” he whined. The giant of a woman sneered and Y/n realised then that somewhere in between her telling him off, she picked Macmillian up by his robes and held him close to her face, a few feet off the ground. The giant—Mary—plopped the scrambling boy down onto the bench and gave him one last glare, before she turned her fiery amber gaze onto Y/n.
“Am Mary Fraiser, this little twat,” she nudged Macmillian. “--is ma cousin! He’s a shite, ignore ‘im,” Fraiser reached over and held out her hand. Y/n took it gingerly before being yanked a bit as she gripped it and shook. “Nice ta meet you!”
The Y/n gave her a friendly smile, hoping that she’ll stop shaking his bones with her strength. “I’m Y/n Potter. Nice to meet you as well.”
The brawley girl barked out a laugh. “Aye we know ye, Potter.” She chuckled before giving Macmillan one last glare before she went to sit further down at the table.
The rest of the meal, Macmillan ignored Y/n, only talking—more like yelling—with Justin about the wizard sport, Quidditch. It looked like Justin didn’t get it, but nodded along for Macmillan’s sake.
As Y/n reached for a jug full of pumpkin juice, an arm went straight through the jug, making the Potter boy scream and jerk back. His eyes blown wide, he watched as a fat man wearing a grey frock with a rope tied at the waist flew through the table, moaning as he gazed at the juice longingly.
“Oh phooey,” he sighed. “I forgot,”
A few older Hufflepuffs looked on at the ghost with pity.
“Y-Y-ou’re the Fat Friar,” Y/n said, his eyes watching the ghost with a strange fascination. The ghost turned to look at him, a smile on his face.
“Indeed, I am Mister Potter! Oh! I heard you were able to be sorted into my old House!! Oh, dear, I hope you’ll enjoy it. We have a celebrity! I cannot wait to rub it in Old Baron's face! Ha!” The Friar flew off towards the Slytherin table. Y/n turned his head to watch. He noticed how the ghost called the Bloody Baron was sitting next to the blond-haired boy—Draco Malfoy. Shaking his head, Y/n went back to his food.
“What class are you excited for most, Potter?” asked Rosemary, her blue eyes full of curiosity. Before he could answer her, Rosemary interrupted. “I’m very excited for Herbology! My mum is a herbalist, it’s what drew my dad to her, y’know!”
“I really like Charms, but also I’m very excited about Potions.”
Someone chuckled. “I thought so too until I knew who was to be our Professor.” Y/n turned his head to look at the voice. He had short black hair and brown slender eyes and a round face. He looked nervous, yet confident at the same time.
“Snape, that fellow right there,” He pointed to the raised dais where the high table was, and pointed at a man with a hooked nose, shoulder-length black hair and black eyes that were staring at his brother, Harry.
“He’s a nasty bloke I’ll tell ya,” Y/n watched as “Snape” nodded his head as the professor from Diagon Alley, Professor Quirill, spoke with the black-haired professor.
“He hates anyone that isn't in his house. It makes Potions dreadful. He’s always hovering and when you make a simple mistake, he takes away so many house points and calls you names.” Y/n and Rosemary gasped.
“How cruel!”
“Can he do that?”
Cried Y/n and Rosemary at the same time, their eyes wide with shock and fury.
“No one stops him, not even Dumbledore. Tcch.” The boy crossed his arms, his eyes rolling. Realising that he didn't introduce himself, he sighed and offered his hand. “Nakamura Hiroshi, second year.”
“Y/n Potter,” He gripped Nakamura’s hand. “Rosemary Thorn, nice to meet you,” she smiled and shook his hand.
“Nice to meet you both,” Nakamura nodded his head in greeting. “Welcome to Hufflepuff House,”
The Hall fell silent after dessert as Professor Dumbledore stood up from his chair.
“Ahem — just a few more words now that we are all fed and watered. I have a few start-of-term notices to give you.” A few Hufflepuff’s rolled their eyes. “First years should note that the forest on the grounds is forbidden to all pupils. And a few of our older students would do well to remember that as well.”
“I have also been asked by Mr. Filch, the caretaker, to remind you all that no magic should be used between classes in the corridors.” Rosemary leaned over to whisper to an older Hufflepuff.
“Quidditch trials will be held in the second week of the term. Anyone interested in playing for their house teams should contact Madam Hooch.” Madam Hooch stood up from the High table. “And finally, I must tell you that this year, the third-floor corridor on the right-hand side is out of bounds to everyone who does not wish to die a very painful death.” Only a few people laughed, Harry being one of them, along with Justin, who looked around at the worried eyes of their new housemates looking grim.
“He’s… he’s not joking?” asked Justin, his voice wavering. “Nah, he ain’t. A jus’ wanna know wat it is,'' spoke Mary a few seats down.
“Usually Dumbledore gives us a reason,” murmured another student.
“And now, before we go to bed, let us sing the school song!” cried Dumbledore. Y/n noticed that the other teachers’ smiles had become rather fixed. Oh, no. Nakamura and Mary firmly placed their hands over their ears. Dumbledore gave his wand a little flick, as if he was trying to get a fly off the end, and a long golden ribbon flew out of it, which rose high above the tables and twisted itself, snakelike, into words.
“Everyone please your their favorite tune,” said Dumbledore, “and off we go!”
And the school bellowed:
“Hogwarts, Hogwarts, Hoggy Warty Hogwarts,
Teach us something please,
Whether we be old and bald
Or young with scabby knees,
Our heads could do with filling
With some interesting stuff,
For now they’re bare and full of air,
Dead flies and bits of fluff,
So teach us things worth knowing,
Bring back what we’ve forgot,
just do your best, we’ll do the rest,
And learn until our brains all rot.”
The noise was painful. Y/n had placed his hands over his ears when it first started. “Ah, music,” he said, wiping his eyes. Rosemary whispered to Y/n. “Was that really music?” He chuckled, smirking at the auburn-haired girl. “A magic beyond all we do here!”
“And now, bedtime. Off you trot!” Prefects, Oliver and a girl with short blue hair and green eyes, stood up with a bunch of other students from the three other tables, calling out: “First year Ravenclaws, follow us,” “First year Slytherins, follow us,” “First year Gryffindors, with me.”
Y/n watched with sad eyes as he and Harry were split from each other, one wearing red and gold and the other yellow and black.
Oliver and the witch led Harry and his fellow first years through the corridors of Hogwarts. Y/n watched as the other students, red and gold, blue and bronze, climbed the grand and moving staircase—thanks to Hogwarts: A History—that Y/n couldn’t wait to explore. While he and the rest of the first years followed their Prefects. Rosemary stuck close by him, pointing to the portraits that lined the cobblestone walls.
“Our common room is in the basement?” whispered Justin. Macmillan nodded.
“Yeah, it’s near the kitchens,” a smirk formed on his face.
They climbed down the non-moving staircase and they felt a slight chill in the air. Rosemary stuck close by Y/n, pointing to the fruit themed portraits that lined the cobblestone walls. They passed a portrait of a bowl of fruit—that reminded Y/n of the bowl of fruit that muggle art teachers would have their students paint or draw—and Y/n could hear a slight commotion happening behind the portrait. Frowning, he looked at Rosemary, seeing if she had any clue as to what it was. Her face was marred in confusion. So she didn’t know what it was then, mused Y/n.
“If you need a map of Hogwarts, please let us know, myself and Oliver shall provide you with one.” Commented the female perfect, a friendly smile on her face.
The group stopped together at a nook, hidden by… barrels? Y/n looked at it in confusion.
“Unlike the other houses where they need a password or need to answer a riddle, for us, we need to tap on these barrels to a rhythm, our House Founder’s song’s rhythm. We will teach you the rhythm tomorrow after your classes. So until then, stick together in a group and we’ll assign an older student to let you in and out of the common room.” Oliver smiled at the first years. “Now, Ethel, will you do the honours?” Ethel—the other prefect—nodded her head. She approached the barrels and tapped two from the bottom, and two in the middle row, and one in the top row. A soft melody played from the barrels, and the door of the nook opened.
Y/n peered into the doorway along with the other first years. The ceiling was low; the room was round and had two small platforms with a staircase leading up to a door. One said Gents, the other Ladies. It must be the dorms, Y/n thought to himself. There was a sense of warmth and welcoming to the room. The smell of vanilla and sunflowers reached Y/n’s nose. It brought a sense of homeliness to the common room. It made him want to cuddle up in a blanket and read one of the books about dragons by the fireplace and drink some hot chocolate with marshmallows. It temporarily made him forget about his dread and his sadness. It made him forget that Harry wasn’t with him. His heart winced at the thought.
“Welcome,” Oliver smiled. “To Hufflepuff House,”

draco dating a hufflepuff girl in the same year as him.
*requested
Draco’s sixth year at Hogwarts comes in a succession of black and blue, the shape of a Mark, a branding, a death sentence, stitched into the capillaries of his arm.
The gossamer ribbon of his lungs slips through his rib cage and swirls around the notches of his esophagus till he’s choking on the silent screams.
Because loving her is a dangerous thing.
A tricky thing.
A deadly thing.
For she’s now a pawn in the Dark Lord’s game, all muddled blood, and impure veins.
He feels like Icarus falling for the sea, can taste the foam in his lungs, on his tongue, shards of salt lacerating the walls of his once beating heart.
And he cannot breathe, cannot swallow, cannot see, no, not as she’s standing behind him more ghost than girl, ankles buried beneath more truths than lies, tears staining the rim of her cathedral-glass eyes.
“Draco,” she whispers, and it sounds like a hymn, a chorus of angels screaming, crashing, burning, falling from heaven, falling for devils.
He’s never heard something quite so tragic.
“I’m sorry,” he replies, almost laughs at the irony.
The Mark, the blood, the truth, the lies.
He wonders if this is what it feels like to die.
With a girl - the girl - by his side, eyes wide, lips swollen and tinged with a hint of Botticellian pink.
“I’m not leaving.”
“Please, he’ll kill you, he’ll kill us all.”
A strand of hair catches in her lashes as she shakes her head adamantly.
“Like you said, he’ll kill us all. At least I’ll be by your side when I die.”
She twines their fingers together and knots their knuckles in a manner that reminds Draco vaguely of a promise.
He thinks he wants to hold her hand forever, wants to memorize each slope and curve and jut of her tender, porcelain bones.
Because loving her is like Russian Roulette.
A game, a chance, a dangerous thing.
She folds her arms behind his neck, brings her lips close, close, close till they’re closest.
“I’m not leaving,” she says, again.
Again, again and again.
And yellow never was so beautiful.
Regulus black x F!Hufflepuff!reader oneshot

Summary.
Regulus never took notice of the quiet hufflepuff girl in his year. when his brother Sirius and his friends dragged him to the first hufflepuff game of the year, he is immediately drawn to her.
Word Count: 6.3k
Warnings: cussing, metion of missing sibling, very brief mentions of abuse, mentions of alcohol, mostly fluff but some angst
(Tell me if there's others I need to put)
A/N:
Reader is female and in hufflepuff but there is no physical description other than being shorter than regulus but doesn't go into detail.
The reader is based heavily on Hogwarts mystery. Most of the friends in Hogwarts Mystery will move back in time with the reader (even tonks).
Also, Peter will stay good in this one. I used the Aaron T.J., Andrew G, Timothee, Ben b, and Dane Dehann fancast as my inspiration but any of the fancasts can be used.
Sorry if it's not that good... I did my best and finally got this thing done.
Please enjoy!!

Today was the day of the first official Hufflepuff Quidditch game. Everyone from all four houses was making their way to the stands. While normally only Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws would attend since this was their match, everyone was attending because this was when the Hufflepuffs would announce who the new quidditch captain was.
Orion Amari, the quidditch captain from the last few years, graduated the year before. Everyone was eager to learn who would become the new captain.
A large group made their way to the stadium amongst the other excited students, the marauders and their other Gryffindor friends, and Regulus Black followed by his Slytherin friends. Sirius and Regulus were now on good terms, having gone back to their brotherly love from before Hogwarts. Regulus was a little nervous to be sitting with his brother in the stands but was as excited as every other student to see who was appointed as captain. In a few weeks, Slytherin and Hufflepuff would be facing off, and then again during quidditch cup season. He was slightly intimidated, what if this new captain proved to be better than the last and took Hufflepuff on to win the Quidditch Cup? But for now, he walks with his brother to their seats in the stands.
Everyone waits in anticipation as Murphy McNully comments on the Ravenclaw team who were already out on the field.
“So who do you think the new captain is?” Sirius addresses the group of friends, he turns in his seat to look back at them.
Marlene is the first to speak up, “I bet it’s Parkins,” a few of the others hum in agreement, “I mean she’s a Parkins, her family is crazy famous in terms of quidditch!” Remus nods before speaking up.
“You never know, it could be Waylan Jones,” he proposed. The others waited for him to continue his reasoning, “It's not all about the last name, Waylan is a prominent seeker, and he’s definitely got the leadership skills.” James seemed to ponder it for a moment before shaking his head.
“I have a feeling I know exactly who it is.” The others were about to question who it was until Murphy called out across the stadium that the Hufflepuffs were about to come out. Regulus had never taken an interest in the Hufflepuffs, he thought most of them were too kind for their own good. But he was excited today, Hufflepuff and Slytherin would be facing off in a few weeks, and he wanted to see their potential.
Finally, one side of the stadium started cheering, the students in that section had a clear view of the entrance and could see the Hufflepuffs coming through the tunnel.
Murphy Mcnully started calling out the players' names and positions as they filed in on their brooms “Waylan Jones seeker, Atlan Verdell keeper, Katie Shacklebolt beater, Castor Perren beater, Skye Parkins chaser, Edith Turner chaser….” Murphy paused smiling from ear to ear, “And the person you’ve all been waiting for, Hufflepuff's new captain….Y/N L/N!!” as soon as her name was called the h/c Hufflepuff came out on her broom, everyone erupted into cheers.
James had a smug look on his face, having had a sneaking suspicion that the girl would get the position. The quidditch players circled the stadium, Hufflepuff showing their talent by balancing standing up on their brooms. As Y/N flew by the group of friends she had a wide smile on her features, she waved to James as she passed him before leading the line of quidditch players back to the pitch.
Madam Hooch threw the quaffle up when the teams were situated, Ravenclaw started with the quaffle, and the Hufflepuff chasers went after the Ravenclaw with the quaffle.
The group of friends was in awe as the Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws scored points back and forth, but neither team could find the snitch disappointingly. McNully was calling out the plays left and right, talking at the pace of the game. When the 3 Hufflepuff chasers started setting up a Parkin’s pinscher, the crowd started going wild, a trademark move done only by Skye Parkin's dad in the big leagues. While the Hufflepuffs had done a parkin’s pinscher before it was only done in practice. “L/N and Parkin are flanking the sides of the Ravenclaw chaser, Jamie Walker, setting up a Parkin’s pinscher while Turner comes in from the front, hoping to steal the quaffle from Walker,” Mcnully announces from the commentator box.
The marauders and their friends turn their heads to a group near them in the stands cheering for Skye and Y/N, a brown-haired Hufflepuff named Rowan Khanna screams. “C’mon Y/N!! You got this!!” a pink-haired girl beside her cheers in agreement, wanting to encourage the Hufflepuff team.
POV: Regulus Black
I honestly stopped listening to the annoying commentator a long time ago, the new captain of the Hufflepuff team was beautiful. Hearing the name she was given allows me to recognize who she was, she was in my potions class. Professor Slughorn typically favored me in the class for some reason, although the only other person he likes in our class is a quiet Hufflepuff who sits in the back. She is never obnoxious, always does her work on time, and always asks questions that I can tell never help her but help other students in the class. I mean not that I watch her, that would be creepy, but I've noticed her.
I thought she was cute except I didn’t think she was my type, she didn't even seem like the quidditch type. Now that I see her performing these complex quidditch maneuvers, the way she had a confident aura when she was circling the stadium, and even the concentration she has in the game make her all the more appealing to me. What's even crazier to think about is the rumors swirling around about her and the cursed vaults. She's rumored to be looking for them and destroying them. I try not to listen to the rumors, but I know there are more rumors that I don't know about. If she was destroying the cursed vaults that would surprise me but also wouldn't at the same time, I would be surprised that this quiet shy girl was capable of taking the vaults down. Then I wouldn't be because now I see her in a new light.
There was so much more to this girl than I thought, and I must have been staring because my brother nudged me in the side with a knowing smirk on his face. “What is it?” I ask him loudly over the cheering crowds, he just shrugs “It just seems like someone has caught your attention..” he wiggles his eyebrows to get his point across. James, on the bench below them, turns around with a stern look, “You better not be talking about L/N ‘cause I’ll kick your arse, black.” I could feel the heat rise to my cheeks at the accusation.
“What makes you think that, Potter?” I ask him, feigning innocence, he just gives me a look of ‘Are you serious.’ he shakes his head. “I’m just telling you, you may be this git’s brother but L/N is like a little sister to me, you try to hurt her and I’ll snap your fingers off.” Sirius has a look of fake offense at the name, looking towards Remus for some backup. Remus gives a look of ‘Don’t bring me into this’. “Moony you can't be serious…!” Sirius had a skeptical tone, towards the boy he liked, but James chimed in before Sirius could have time to react “Well obviously he’s not you Sirius.” The group started laughing at the joke, while Sirius pouted for a moment.
I turned my attention back to the game, my eyes searching for the h/c girl, before finally spotting her in a thimblerig shuffle, a move that McNully himself invented. The three chasers shuffled the quaffle around before it landed in y/n’s hands and she sped away as the opposing chaser got confused about who had it. y/n scored a goal against Ravenclaw, while everyone cheered.
“It looks like Jones and Verdett have spotted the golden snitch!!” Everyone frantically looked around for the two seekers, before someone pointed, all eyes went to the seekers except one pair, mine. I kept my eyes trained on the gorgeous Hufflepuff, barely paying attention to the rest of the game, the other players kept the game going even though it wouldn't matter once one team caught the snitch. I watched Y/n move gracefully on her broom around the pitch, continuing to score points against Ravenclaw. I missed the fact that Hufflepuff had caught the golden snitch, while I watched her. Finally snapping out of my trance when the entire stadium was screaming.
I kept watching Y/n as she flew up to the stands near where we were sitting, she approached the group of people that I had noticed earlier.
“Hey, Rowan!”
Pov: Reader
“Hey, Rowan!”
I flew up to my best friend who was sitting with some of our friends after the game was won. She waved happily at me as I approached, the others smiled and cheered for me. Although it was funny to see a displeased Talbott in the seat next to Penny, I couldn't tell if it was from losing the game since he was a Ravenclaw or if it was from being dragged to a quidditch game no doubt by Penny.
“Y/N you did awesome!” Penny called me, ever the quidditch enthusiast she is. “I can't believe you made captain!” Rowan practically jumped with excitement, happy for her best friend getting the position she’d always wanted.
I laughed at her enthusiasm, “Yeah, I'm honestly surprised too. But Orion said he wanted it to be me, he didn't think anyone could have filled the spot better.”
We talk for a moment before getting interrupted by a loud James Potter with Sirius Black, Marlene Mkinnon, and Dorcas Meadowes in tow. “By Merlin, L/n, Congratulations!” I look over to James who is leaning against the railing, my eyes briefly drift behind him to the gorgeous Slytherin boy in my year, Regulus Black, before returning James’ wide smile.
“Y’Know Potter you better be careful this year, I’ll be winning that cup for Hufflepuff before you know it. Just because it's your last year doesn't mean I'll go easy on you.” I tease the 7th-year Gryffindor, he laughs loudly “In your dreams maybe!” I laugh with the rest of the group, while Penny argues with Marlene about who will win.
Eventually, James gets called by Lily to hurry up, and the group disperses. My friends started heading down the stadium, and I took one last glance at Regulus to see him already looking at me. I flush in embarrassment and head down to the entrance to the pitch so I can get changed out of my uniform.
Time skip- (Hufflepuff common room.)
Finally, I head down the stairs to the noisy common room with Rowan and Penny, after they make sure I'm dressed up properly, my heart thumps with excitement. The Hufflepuff’s were throwing a party to celebrate our win today, all four houses were invited. That means there's a good chance Regulus would be there, hence why Penny insisted I wear the best outfit I had.
When we reached the base of the stairs we could see people from every house, the music was blasting, and it seemed someone snuck in alcohol because I could definitely see some drunk people. We made our way through the common room, maneuvering between people. Finally, I saw Tonks by the drinks and headed in her direction.
Before I could make it to Tonks, a loud voice started booming over the speakers, “I know I may have caught the winning snitch today…” A few Hufflepuffs cheered as I turned around to watch Waylan, our seeker speak to everyone, sounding slightly drunk. “But I’m not the one we should be celebrating, we could not have done it without our wonderful captain, Y/N! Who led us to victory today and will make sure we win that cup!!" Everyone cheered as I felt someone pick me up and put me on their shoulders.
I squeaked slightly before looking down to see a flash of pink hair, tonks was holding me up. “Tonks put me down!” I laughed loudly.
Everyone encircled Tonks and I and started chanting my name. “Y/N! Y/N! Y/N! Y/N!” I looked around as I laughed at everybody, I spotted the Black brothers, Sirius was yelling with everyone else and Regulus seemed a little uncomfortable. Before I could keep looking at Regulus I was dropped from Tonks’ shoulders onto the floor.
The rest of the night was spent dancing, drinking, and longingly looking at Regulus, Which Rowan and Penny definitely had their comments on.
Time skip - 2 weeks later - Hogsmeade - 3rd person
Regulus, Sirius, Remus, James, Lily, and Peter all walked into the three broomsticks, quickly finding the last available booth, right next to Y/N’s table with all of her friends. Regulus could hear the sound of Y/n’s laughter, it made his heart flutter. Over the last two weeks, regulus has paid more attention to the Hufflepuff.
Of course, he would deny any remark his brother and his brother's friends made about it, because Regulus Black did not fancy non-pureblood girls, but the others knew better than to believe that. It was clear to them that Regulus was head over heels for this girl, although much against James’ protests. Madame Rosmerta, the young barkeep at the three broomsticks, came over to their table to take their orders.
“What can I get for you kids today?” She pulled out a small notebook and pen, ready to write down the orders.
“6 butterbeers please.” Lily spoke up for the group as she leaned against James. Regulus wasn't paying much attention to the friends that surrounded him, his attention was drawn to Y/N who was getting up from her table to head to the bar. He hadn't noticed Madam Rosmerta leaving their table, nor the wide smirks from his friends, or even the giant scowl and staring coming from James across from him. He continued to watch Y/n even as her friends started noticing his heart eyes at her. Nothing mattered to him at the moment other than trying to memorize every little thing about her.
POV: Y/N
“I'm gonna go get one of the special butter beers, be right back.” I got up from the table as I excused myself from my friends, making my way up to the bar. I waited for Madame Rosmerta to get back. Specialty butterbeers require you to go up to the counter to get one, so I waited until I heard a familiar snarky voice behind me.
“So L/n when are you gonna give up the cursed vaults? I mean we all know I'm going to find and defeat them all, so why waste your time?” Merula Snyde, the bitchy Slytherin herself. “I'm not in the mood Merula..” I dont spare her a glance, but I can feel that she's getting angry.
“You trying to prove yourself to your parents?'' This makes me look at her with unamusement, “You trying to prove you're not worthless?”. I scowl at her as I turn my head fully to look at her before rolling my eyes and turning back to lean against the counter. “Do you want them to love you?” I hear her snicker before I respond., “I don't care about what my parents think so your argument is weak.” she stops and frowns before her scowl turns into a smirk.
“Or is it that you want to find your brother?” my head whips around to look at her; I can feel anger bubbling up inside me. “Well I think you’re gonna find a dead body..” she smiles coyly, and my hand slightly grips the table, trying to calm myself “What is your problem, Snyde?” I snapped. She sneered before replying “You're my problem L/N, I'm just counting the days until you turn into a nutter like your brother!” She laughs loudly and I don't take a second to think about my actions.
I lunged for her, pushing her to the ground before landing a hard punch to her face. She starts hitting me trying to get me off, but I land a few more punches before I am pulled off.
“You Bitch! Dont ever talk about my brother like that!” I scream at her, trying to push the arms around me off. I can vaguely hear Barnaby’s voice but it doesn't register as I continue shouting at her.
“You’re so done L/N! The next time I see you I'm gonna hex you for what you did to my face!” she shrieks as she holds her nose trying to stop the bleeding as one of her goons, Ismelda holds her up. “If you ever talk about my brother again or go near his room, I’ll kill you!” a few tears flow down my face as I scream at her, “he's my brother! That room is the only thing I have left of him, I don’t care if I have to go to Azkaban to keep you from it, you manky tosser!”
I was dragged outside by the person holding me, and when they set me down I recognized Barnaby’s jumper. Barnaby pulled me in for a hug, and I cried a little, but we were interrupted by Professor McGonagall clearing her throat.
I pulled away from Barnaby and stood in front of McGonagall, when Barnaby went back inside she began talking “What do you think you were doing Ms. L/N?!” I shrank a little as she questioned me, “That was highly inappropriate, I understand you're sensitive when it comes to your brother but that does not mean you are allowed to strike another student!” she raised her voice sternly, I felt small in her presence.
“Although I may feel indifferent to you getting a punishment, I am still your professor and rules are rules. So you will serve detention for a week in my classroom, taking care of the transfiguration subjects. And Hufflepuff will lose 10 points” She was about to turn to head into the three broomsticks before she looked back at me, “But do not worry, Ms.Snyde will also receive a punishment.” I nod, wiping my nose while I sniffle. I sit down on a bench right outside the door, wanting to calm down before I see my friends.
Pov: Regulus
“Bloody hell…” Sirius was right, bloody hell.
One minute Y/n was up at the bar clearly annoyed by whatever my housemate Merula was saying, and the next she was on top of Merula screaming at her. We all watched y/n get dragged out by Barnaby, as the girls continued to have a screaming match, but when McGonagall came in and told all of y/n’s friends to stay inside and give the girl a minute I knew it was my chance.
I snuck out of my seat when McGonagall was too busy reprimanding Merula, and made my way outside. When I got out there I found y/n sitting on a bench crying, not sure what to do. I sat down next to her. Oh my god, this is so awkward… How do you console a crying girl? Cmon regulus…think!... Think! For Merlin's sake…
“A-are you alright?” bloody hell, that's the best you can do? y/n turned and looked up at me, seemingly startled by my presence. She quickly wipes her eyes, “Y-yeah… I’m fine.” we sit awkwardly before she speaks up again, “N-no… I'm not fine..” she plays with her fingers as she looks down at her lap.
“Why do you let her words affect you?” I let the words slip out of my mouth without thinking, she looked up at me again. “I-i mean Merula isn't nice to anyone, Y-you um shouldn't listen to her, she doesn't know what she's talking about ever. She's like a walking babbling beverage.” Curse my mouth! Merlin, can I ever shut up? I ramble awkwardly before shutting up and turning red a bit. I mentally curse myself for being so awkward before I'm drawn out of thoughts by a giggle. I look down at her laughing form, “A b-babbling beverage??” I nod a small smile forming on my lips.
“Thank you, that just made my day…” she smiles up at me, “you're welcome..” I flash an awkward smile, before asking “Do…do you want to talk about what happened in there?” she looks down for a second.
“My brother went missing 3 years before we started at Hogwarts, in truth I don't remember a whole lot about him… he started at Hogwarts a year after I was born so he wasn’t at home a lot.” she fiddled with her fingers more as she talked.
“Not that I can blame him, our mother is abusive and our father is a compulsive liar.” my hand clenched in my lap as I thought about her being hit by her parents. I've seen my fair share of abuse, I'd rather suffer my mother's wrath than see y/n hurt by hers. “I know most people think my brother is dead but I won't believe he is, I just won't. I can't give up on him, not like everybody else…” I slowly grab her hand lightly, offering what little comfort I know.
“T-thank you for telling me…” I whisper as she looks up at me, “I'm glad you trust me enough…” she smiles softly, I lift my other hand and wipe a stray tear away.
“Thank you for listening…” We sit for a few moments in silence before I stand up. She looks up at me in confusion, about to speak until I cut her off. “You wanna head back to the castle? I can buy us both butterbeers to take with...” my voice wavers, slightly nervous to ask her.
“You know what it was a stupid idea, you can just forget about it, you probably want to go back to your friends..” I ramble for a moment before I feel her hand grab mine. I look down at her to see her smiling. “I’d like that alot,” I nodded, giving her my smile as well, “then I'll go get them right now.” I headed back inside, quickly ordering two to-go butter beers. As I was walking back out I caught my brother's eye and smiled at him holding the two butterbeers. A silent explanation as to why I was leaving.
POV: Y/N
Regulus and I trekked the long road back to the castle as we talked and drank our butter beers. We actually had a lot in common. We both loved quidditch, potions, and reading. Although our reading tastes were a bit different we both recommended some of our favorite books to each other.
“You know... I never got to say that you look beautiful today.” he said after a moment of silence, “I-I mean not that you aren't any other day but- and not that I watch you or anything. Oh my god, that came out so weird…I’m going to shut up now…” I laugh slightly at his awkwardness, his cheeks flush red in embarrassment. “Thank you, I'm happy you think so, black” I smile sweetly, placing my hand on his upper arm as a thank you while we stop walking for a moment. I awkwardly jerk my hand back when he looks down at it. I clear my throat as I start walking again, I hear him walking again as he catches up to me.
“Call me Regulus, please…” he stops us for a second, pulling me to face him, “Alright… Regulus.” his first name felt strange on my tongue. It's only now that I realize the proximity of our faces, my face heats up as we both pull away and continue our walk back to Hogwarts.
Pov: 3rd person
Over the next few weeks, Regulus and Y/n become close friends, hanging out in and out of classes, studying together in the library, and even on the rare occasion the students can sit anywhere in the great hall no matter the house, they sit next to each other. Their friends had all taken notice and constantly teased them about getting together, but both parties denied it and claimed all they were, were good friends.
Pov: Y/N (sorry for so many pov changes)
Time skip: a Thursday night in January
My hand was cramping from how long I had been clutching onto the blue quill I owned. There were ink stains all over my fingers, and a few small smudges on my face. My roommates had all long gone to bed, Rowan had stayed up for a little extra, while she helped me with something, but I ended up insisting she go to sleep after she fell asleep on my desk.
Woody, my orange tabby cat had curled up on an empty spot on my desk, his purrs were the only other noises besides the sound of my quill scribbling on paper and my dormmate’s snores. The essay for potions was due tomorrow and I hadn't had any time between quidditch duties, assignments for other classes, classes themselves, and exploring the mysteries of the cursed vaults.
I'm only brought out of my studying trance when there is a tap at my window. I look up to see an owl that looks vaguely familiar. Approaching the window I begin to recognize it as Regulus’s owl, Apollo, I open the window and let the large bird step onto my arm. I close the window so the room doesn't get chilly, bringing him over to my desk while I give him some head scratches.
“What are you doing here, love?” I set him on the perch where my owl, Merlin, normally resides. I pull out a small piece of meat as a treat while taking the note in his talons. I sit back down in my chair as I unfurl the parchment, I get a little giddy as I read the first words.
Y/N Darling, I was hoping you would meet in the astronomy tower tonight at one. You deserve some time away from that essay I know you worked hard on, all night.
I smiled at the handwriting before I saw a small messily scrawled note at the very bottom of the parchment.
And p.s there is no need to give Apollo any more treats he was already bribed with more than he could ever need to even just deliver this note.
I gazed up at said owl who looked down at me sheepishly, I smiled and reached my hand up to give him some more scratches.
“You cheeky bird,” I giggled softly, conscious of the sleeping girls behind me, “don't worry I’ll still give you treats, you deserve it pretty boy.” Apollo cooed as he rubbed his head against my hand.
With a newfound motivation to finish my essay, I quickly got back to work, it was already close to midnight and I knew it would take me at least 30 minutes more to finish. When I finally finished the essay I rolled it up and stored it near my potion textbook, before I changed into something more suitable, comfy, and warm than pajamas. I let Apollo climb onto my shoulder as I started to sneak out of the Hufflepuff common room.
As I walked down the dark halls of the castle I listened intently for any teachers roaming the halls, I didn't plan on getting detention while I tried to sneak up to the astronomy tower. I will admit it was tricky getting up there from all the way in the dungeons, and after a close call with almost getting caught by Professor Kettleburn, I made it to the stairs of the astronomy tower. I took cautious steps up the stairs, careful not to make unnecessary noise.
Finally making it to the top, I spotted Regulus leaning against the railing facing away from me.
My face heated up as I took his appearance in. His curly hair was half pulled up into a small ponytail tail, pulling his bangs away from his face. His Slytherin quidditch sweater was tucked into his dark jeans. I half expected Apollo to fly back to his owner, but he did not indicate wanting to move away from me, seemingly content on my shoulder snuggled up to me.
“Reg?” I called out to the raven-haired boy, his gray-blue eyes met mine as I approached him. His lips turned up into a smile when he saw me, before laughing softly at the way Apollo was cuddled up to my head. He met me halfway, walking away from the railing as he reached his hand up to his owl.
“He hasn't caused you any trouble, has he?” He chuckled while petting the dark bird on the head, I shook my head no in response. “Apollo never causes me any trouble, he's a good boy.” I stroked said owl's chest with a curled finger as we both looked at him. Regulus laughed softly at the comment, “I don't know about that..” he shifted his gaze to me. I feigned offense, “Are you calling me a liar reg? Maybe he just likes me more…” A small coo from Apollo, sounded as though he agreed with me. Regulus rolled his eyes before picking Apollo up. “It's time for you to head back to the owlery, bud.” The dark owl seemed reluctant to leave but finally gave in and flew back to the tower made for the owls. When Regulus turned back to me he motioned to a blanket splayed across the floor near the railing. I sat down on the blanket, letting my feet dangle off the edge of the tower. I crossed my arms over the lowest bar on the railing while Regulus sat down next to me doing the same thing.
“So what constellations do you remember from astronomy class?” my head turned to look at him as I nervously laughed. “uhhh...None of them?” I lifted my shoulders and hands as I admitted I didn't remember. He simply smiled and turned back to look at the night sky, he lifted his hand and pointed at a section of the sky.
“Well, that's Ursa major.” Making a pattern with his fingers, I quickly found the constellation he was talking about. A few things started to come back to me as he pointed out more constellations.
I reached up and pointed to the Leo constellation, “And there's your star…” I glanced at him as I spoke softly, his arm was now wrapped around my shoulders, our faces a few centimeters apart. Despite the cold biting at my face, I could feel my skin heat up. He nodded softly as we continued to gaze into each other's eyes. We both awkwardly pulled away and looked back at the night sky. Eventually, I grew sleepy and laid my head against his shoulder as he continued explaining the different constellations.
When the sun started making its way over the horizon, Regulus and I made our way down the tower, so we would be able to make it to breakfast in time. We parted ways in the dungeon when we went to our respective common rooms. “See you later, Reg.” I gave him a soft smile as I walked through the door.
Timeskip: Saturday afternoon in January, before a quidditch game
My team and I headed out of the changing rooms in our uniforms with brooms in hand, i was the last one out and was a few paces behind my team.
“Y/N!” I hear a familiar voice call out to me, when I turn around I spot Regulus jogging towards me decked out in Hufflepuff pride wear. He finally reaches me, I take in his fake jersey with my number on it. A few of my fellow Hufflepuffs had created fake casual jersey wear for students to support their favorite players. You could get long-sleeved t-shirts with any of the player's name and jersey number on it. I wonder how he got ahold of one of those.
“You like my shirt?” he spun around, grabbing the top of the shirt at the back to show off the bold lettering that spelled out my last name. He turned back around, “I figured I got to show my support for my favorite Hufflepuff.” he then grabbed the hand that wasnt holding my broom, before kissing the back of it. “Good luck out there, L/N.” before I could say anything he was rushing up the stairs to the stands. I stood there frozen for a moment before one of my teammates calling for me, broke me out of my trance. I mounted my broom and sped off through the tunnel.
Throughout the entire game, I kept looking over at Regulus, he was cheering me on the entire time and I could barely contain the flush that invaded my face. This time wasnt any different than any of our games. We always cheer each other on but seeing him wear my name and number made my knees weak.
Timeskip: (sorry) Hufflepuff party later that night.
I had successfully avoided regulus most of the night, I made it as inconspicuous as I could. I didn't want to hurt his feelings but still needed time to process. I stood over by the drink table, sipping on soda, I was startled by hearing his voice next to my ear. He had to be close enough for me to hear but that didn't stop the chill that ran up my spine.
“If I didn't know any better id say you were avoiding me, Y/N” This was one of the many times where he isn't the soft, kind regulus I know but the cocky and dare I say flirtatiously teasing regulus. I turned to look at him, trying to ignore the rate at which my heart was beating.
“I'm not avoiding you.” I do my best to lie, but we both know it's not true. I take another sip of my soda before I feel his hand ghosting over the back of my upper arm, just above my elbow. We continued to look into each other's eyes but a cough interrupted us. I glanced next to me to see Peter who was waiting patiently. I smiled and turned my body towards the 7th year, I had to admit the boy was handsome in his own quirky way.
“Hi y/n, I was wondering if you'd like to dance?” he held a lopsided grin, completely ignoring the dark-haired boy beside me. I glanced up at Regulus for a moment before returning Peter's smile and nodded. I set my cup down on the table behind me and grabbed Peter’s hand as he led me onto the dance floor.
Another time skip: (I know and I'm sorry) Gryffindor vs Slytherin Quidditch game a few weeks later
I stood with Barnaby, Remus, and Lily as we all watched the quidditch players warm up. James had been a little grumpy when he saw the old jersey I was wearing. About 2 nights after the party we had, a package showed up at my doorstep with a spare Slytherin jersey that belonged to Regulus. He wrote a note saying he wanted me to wear it every time I was at one of his games. So here I was wearing a green jersey with the name Black written across my shoulder blades. Sirius was just as mad but said at least it was his brothers and not some other Slytherin. Barnaby on the other hand was very happy.
“So, you see your lover boy yet?” Lily stood beside me as she spoke, she gave me a knowing smirk and a nudge to my side. I gave her a playful glare before answering “We're not dating, Lily.” I watched as the Slytherin players started walking onto the pitch, “you know that.” both quidditch teams mounted their brooms and practiced on each half of the stadium before it was time to start.
I talked to Barnaby as we waited for them to start the match until a voice spoke in front of me. I looked to see Regulus on his broom with a smile. “You wore the jersey.” I rolled my eyes playfully as he got closer. “Yeah, what about it reg?” I leaned against the railing a bit more. “You look good in my jersey, I should give you more of my clothes to wear..” he grinned devilishly, a call of his name from over his shoulder was heard, they were about to start. “You should get back down there, you are the captain after all.” I smiled softly, leaning back away from the railing.
“Yeah that is true but there is something I have to do first.” I was about to ask what but he cut me off by colliding his lips with mine, I could hear wolf whistling and cheering around me as I leaned into the kiss and cupped his face with my hands. His gloved hand held my chin softly before he pulled away with a bright smile and flushed face.
“That was for good luck…” I laughed at his antics while he slowly pulled his broom back. “If you win this game, you'll get as many as you want!” I called out to him as he headed back down the pitch before he called back. “I'll hold you to that.”
My heart raced rapidly in my chest, my lips were tingly, and my face was warm. “Not dating, my ass.” it's safe to say James and Sirius left the game without another win under their belts and Regulus walked out with a new girlfriend and promises of lots of kisses.
Draco Malfoy and his Rose. Pt. 2

Word Count: 4,861 words
Warning: cursing, slight smut
September 13th, 1996. The Courtyard. 3:29pm.
Hope felt happier then she had felt in an incredibly long time, after that night in the Astronomy Tower she felt like she could conquer anything. She spent all night cuddled up against her best friend, talking about the past 6 years and how they got to where they were at now. Draco tried to leave out as much of the abuse, and harsh words he had endured so the young girl wouldn't take any sort of pity on him.
Maybe after a couple weeks, he could open up to her, but as of right now he had a duty and he wasn't going to let his guard down until it was over.
Several days had passed but she hadn't managed to see Draco once, which bummed her out but she brushed it off choosing to spend the rest of her afternoon in the courtyard studying for Snape's upcoming exam. The young girl was currently sitting with her knees tucked into her chest, strands of hair covering her face. The autumn breeze felt nice on her skin, softly running her fingers over her bare calve as her eyes scanned the words etched onto the pages. Hope pushed her glasses further up the bridge of her nose, letting out a frustrated sigh at the difficult words clouding her vision leaning her head back and clamping her eyes shut as she tried to relax.
"You okay there?" The sound of someone whispering in her ear caught her off guard, letting out a surprised yelp sitting up rather abruptly. Hope eyed the red haired twin, whose cheeky smirk was covering his face. George made his way around the bench, taking a seat next to the brunette giving her a soft smile.
"Asshole. I'm doing good. I just... like making sure that all my work is 100% correct, even if it ends up killing me." She muttered, running her free hand through her curls eyeing the blue eyed boy through her frames. He nodded along to her words, gingerly picking up the open book on her lap reading the title.
"Ah, Snape. He's a fun one. You'll learn the tricks around his class rather easily, as long as you pay attention,"
"Oh, his class isn't hard. Especially for it being on level. I'm taking advanced classes so I am learning more advanced skills compared to the kids my age," George whistled, pretend fanning himself in a way of teasing the girl. Her cheeks became rather pink at his mannerism, playfully shoving the ginger. The Hufflepuff fiddled with the quill in her fingers, enjoying the feeling of the feather brushing against her hands.
"Oh, can it, Weasley. Say, where's your other half?"
"That is... an excellent question. I can promise you, he was right behind me as I came into the courtyard. But he must have-"
"Lupin. Professor Snape would like to speak to you. He said it's rather important," The sound of Draco's voice captured her attention, turning her head rather quickly to face the blonde nodding at what he said swiftly placing all of her books and pieces of parchment into her satchel. She turned to face George, giving him a small wave and a warm smile as she followed behind Draco. She felt her heart race at all the endless possibilities of what Snape would need to speak to her about.
"Did Snape say what he needed to talk to me-"
"Snape doesn't need to talk to you, Rose. I just needed an excuse for you to follow me." The young girl looked up at Draco, shaking her head at the slight smirk on his face. Draco didn't speak another word until they had reached a room she had seen before, due to Harry showing it to her. The Room of Requirement. Hope adjusted the satchel on her shoulder, as she watched the door appear in front of them, causing Draco to look behind him to ensure that Hope was following after her. He placed a hand on the small of her back as he ushered her into the room, closing the large door behind them, the thud echoing across the large room.
"Did you take me in here to kill me?" The brunette teased, playfully nudging the blonde as she made her way over to a large sofa and plopping herself down on the soft cushions. Carefully removing her satchel, letting the heavy material set on the side of the couch making sure she didn't accidentally tip it over. Draco eyed Hope, his heart clenching at the sight of her warm grin knowing that she was happy, a feeling he hadn't felt in an incredibly long time.
"Of course not. But, I felt bad for not coming to see you earlier. Which lead me to stealing you from that weasle, I hope you didn't mind," Hope laughed awkwardly, choosing to ignore the comment he made about George looking up at Draco with a soft smile shaking her head to his words. The blonde smiled down at her, eyeing her face rather hard. Hope felt her cheeks turning hot, reaching up with her fingers to trail her hand over her face out of fear there might be something there.
"Is there something on my face...?"
"No no... you just look really pretty. I don't think I noticed how gorgeous your eyes looked that night on The Astronomy Tower ," Hope flushed pink, nearly stuttering over her actions at the kind words leaving Draco's lips. I keep forgetting he's no longer the same boy I know, he's all grown. Her lips were parted uttering a soft thank you, feeling her chest clench as she saw him wet his plump pink lips. This was going to be a long night, she uttered to herself flashing the boy a quick smile noting how he sat with his legs wide open feeling her eyes widen slightly.
September 19th, 1996. Defense Against the Dark Arts Classroom. 4:01 pm.
Hope had a disgusted snarl placed on her lips as she listened to Professor Umbridge drone on and on about the importance of reading about spells, instead of actually practicing them. At every comment she made towards Harry, she wanted nothing more than to throw a hex at the toad. The entire lecture today had been her pointing at a chalkboard and picking on a few students, to see if they had read the endless chapters she always gave out. Hope had managed to scribble a few useful tips, making sure to mark them to know to go back to them not noticing how quiet the room had gotten, the sound of her quill on the parchment being the only sound in the room.
"Miss Lupin?" Hope's head snapped up, her cheeks ablaze as she made eye contact with Umbridge whose scrunched up face looked like it could burst at any given moment, swallowing rather thickly. She felt the endless eyes of her peers eyeing her, feeling her leg start to bounce up and down rather nervously as she stared at her Professor.
"Yes, Professor?"
"Would you mind reading out loud what it is you have written down? Oh, and please come to the front of the class," The sweet sickly tone of her voice sent her into a frenzy, giving a nod of her head delicately picking up her sheet of parchment almost covered in tons of notes making her way to the front of the classroom. Hope put a smile on her face as she made eye contact with her peers, clearing her throat before beginning to read over the neat notes.
"For our O.W.L.S, we will have to go over any and all knowledge over our 4 past years in Hogwarts on Defense Against the Dark Arts. We will have to write a short essay explaining the 5 signs of-"
"That's enough, Miss Lupin. So you weren't writing a note to pass around?"
"No, ma'am." Hope chirped, feeling her body stiffen as Professor Umbridge nearly squealed at her comment wrapping an arm around the witch. She let out a small laugh, looking around nervously. She tried to avoid eye contact with any of her classmates noticing that many of them were trying to muffle their laughter, a teasing glint in their eyes.
"Now students. Hope is a good example of what you all should be doing. 15 points to Hufflepuff!" Right as she finished hollering, the bell rang which sent all the students scrambling to gather their school things including Hope who hadn't had any time to pack any of her things before hand. She slung her satchel over her shoulder, hurriedly making her way to dinner letting out small excuse me's as she accidentally bumped into a few people including the Golden Trio. Hope came to a stop, flashing a quick smile at her friends who smiled right back at her.
"I'm sorry for nearly trampling you there, Weasley. I'm in a hurry to get as far away from Professor Umbridge as fast as possible. She scares me," Hope practically whispered, adjusting her satchel as she walked alongside them. They let out a chuckle, which made Hope join in on their little laughing fest locking eyes with Harry letting out a nervous chuckle, "Are you guys going to dinner tonight? I never see you guys there anymore,"
"No, we're currently trying to practice some stuff. And tonight we're gonna try to come up with a lesson plan for our next meeting." Hermione spoke rather cheerfully, tightening her grip on her books. Hope nodded along to her words, her mind flashing back to Draco whose grey eyes were burned into her mind,"-wondering if you would like to join us? I think the boys need some real competition."
"Oh- of course! That sounds like fun," Hope grinned brushing the stray hairs away from her face, choosing to tag along with the Golden Trio following behind them as they sneaked their way around the herds of students into the Room of Requirement.
Shortly after arriving there they began thinking of good spells for the kids to practice, surprisingly a lot harder than they had thought considering Harry had already thought of the highly important spells Hope's father had taught them. Hope had her head on Harry's thigh her back on the stone floor waving her wand around focusing on the trail of sparks that followed after her wand. She let out a deep breath she never realized she was holding before sitting up rather abruptly. The sudden outburst startled the trio, their eyes wide as they watched the witch intently as she sat up where they could properly hear and see her.
"I'm literally the stupidest person to have ever walked these halls-"
"Now that's just offensive to Ron," Harry mumbled around a mouthful of chocolate, taking a drink from his cup full of water a playful glint in his eyes. Ron's face flushed red throwing his satchel at the wizard, barely skimming over his head as the two girls began laughing as they began throwing the bag back and forth. Hope rolled her eyes, using her wand to throw the satchel against the wall startling them both. Both of their sheepish faces turned to face her, giving her a cheesy grin which she ignored.
"As I was saying, I could just ask my father. We have this little journal that we enchanted in my third year, for when he came here to teach and I was at Beauxbatons. I can talk to him just by writing into the journal, and it'll go undetected by Umbridge,"
"I could just kiss you right now, Lupin. You are a genius!" Ron muttered, cupping Hopes face to which she sputtered her face flushing as he pressed a sloppy kiss on her cheek. Harry let out a scoff covering it up with a loud cough, tossing the rest of his chocolate frog with the rest of his trash, offering the witch his leg again as she eyed him curiously to which he faked a smile eyeing Ron. Hope shoved the redhead off wiping the spit from her face, smacking his leg out of spite," you know you love me,"
"Remind me to sit next to you next time instead of this dumbass," Hope directed to Ron which just made Hermione giggle, letting out a gasp as the 6'3 wizard thought it would be a good idea to throw himself at Hope which led her to let out a pained grunt. This is going to be a long night, Hope thought to herself as she jabbed her elbow into the gingers stomach.
November 9th, 1996. The Gryffindor Common Room. 5:53 am.
"-and I see him being a complete ass to all these so called ‘half blood’ or ‘muggle borns’ so I got onto him about it. I don’t think I have ever wanted to kick the living daylights out of anyone as much as him! We haven't spoken since then... I messed things up haven’t I? Fuck, I’m sorry Harry, you’re probably tired. Just forget about it, it's silly-"
"No! It's not silly at all. Draco is a complete arse, and I know it must be weird to see him now after all these years of seeing your best friend as a saint. But, I can assure you. You aren’t silly for feeling upset about this...alright? " Harry murmured his accent thickening near the end of the sentence, running his fingers through his messy black hair, his eyes never leaving the brunette who was currently curled up on one of the many couches strewn around the Common Room.
Her eyes were glossy as she wiped at the tears threatening to fall, tucking her head into her knees that were pressed against her chest. Harry still couldn't figure out how someone as horrid as Draco had someone like Hope wrapped around his finger, rushing to throw his toned arm around her shoulder muttering soft nothings into her ear. She let her knees drop curling into Harry throwing her arms around his waist holding him close as she let out a few sobs.
"I'm sorry, H. I just- he's been my best friend for as long as I can remember. And after being apart from him for so long, I just figured things would be normal. Not-not this mess that it’s turned out to be," Hope mumbled into the dark haired wizards neck, noting the soft scent of his cologne trying to ignore how intoxicating he smelled, "Can you tell me a bit about what Draco did to you guys to make y’all hate him so much? At first I just thought you guys were being over dramatic... but now I realize that isn’t the same Draco Malfoy I grew up with,"
"I don't think that's a great idea, Hope."
"Why not?"
"Look, I might not be super fond of Draco. But, I have no right to go and put even more negative thoughts into that head of yours considering 90% of the kids here first judged me at the sight of my scar and I didn't like it. I felt belittled and like I was some walking trophy." Harry opened up his face flushing at the thought of all those comments he had endured while walking down the hallway, rubbing small circles onto her back noting the thin familiar T-shirt that adorned her body, "Are you cold? We could run up to my room if you'd like,"
"Are you sure? I can endure a couple hours of the cold, it's no biggie-"
"Come 'ere." The boy whispered removing his hold around the witch, helping her up letting out a soft chuckle as she struggled to put on her moose slippers. He grabbed onto her hand setting it on his shoulder so she could balance herself properly, successfully managing to put her slippers on giving the dark haired boy two thumbs up. Harry rolled his eyes leading the way for Hope to follow, trying his best to not make too much noise as he opened the door to his room. Harry motioned towards the only empty bed in the room, Hope gladly made her way over kicking off her slippers sliding underneath the warm covers as Harry closed the door.
"You look so tiny- do your feet seriously not reach the end of the bed?!" Harry chuckled as quietly as he could, playfully shoving her legs noticing the brunette had turned a bright pink smacking his bicep. He yelped rubbing at the sore spot, nudging her over so he could lay down next to her.
This wouldn't be the first time they've cuddled, considering they clicked from the moment they met and both had grown rather close in the last month and a half but this would be the first time they were going to be in the same bed in close proximity. Harry was twice her size, and it almost made this situation impossible because of how small the bed was. They both let out a series of giggles at their comical situation, their bodies incredible close nearly squished into one. Harry thought it would be easier to fit if they were even closer, which is why he proceeded to wrap his arm around her waist letting the witch nuzzle into his chest.
"If you were on me... like on my chest, there might be more room," Hope felt her chest flutter as she heard his husky voice breath out those words into her hair, nodding along to what he said allowing his toned arms to lift her onto him. Harry wasn't wrong. With Hope laying on him, partially anyway, not only was there more room for them he felt even more comfortable. Her fingers tracing random patterns onto his chest feeling his large hands tighten their grip around her.
"I'm sorry again for waking you up this early, I didn't know who else to go to,"
"Hope, you already apologized. And once again, I'm telling you that it's okay. I would have met you out in the freezing lake if you had asked me," He teased, which made the witch blush lifting her head up from its current position locking eyes with his bright green eyes feeling her breath hitch, her gaze flickering down at his lips feeling the air in the room thicken tremendously.
Harry wet his lips with his tongue, tightening his grip on her lightly as he felt himself leaning into her warm touch. The witch closed the gap between them, feeling herself melt into the kiss her hands trailing up his chest to tug on his hair. They adjusted their positions, letting Harry sit up with Hope's legs straddling his waist resuming their kiss feeling it grow heated fast. She enjoyed the feeling of his touch on her hips, letting out a small wine as he dug his long fingers into her exposed skin pulling her closer to his chest. Hope didn't expect this morning to turn out the way she had planned, but she wasn't complaining especially as she felt the dark haired boy growing beneath her.
Harry couldn't remember the last time he had been in any way intimate with someone, trying to memorize the feeling of her burning skin as she tugged at his hair deepening the kiss as he subconsciously bucked his hips up. At the feeling of his growing member bucking into her, she let out a soft moan to which Harry hushed as he parted from her swollen lips nearly giving in as he saw the needy look in her eyes. He scrambled to grab his wand to close the curtains surrounding his bed, casting a quick muffliato.
That way if they did end up getting too loud, there wouldn't be any chance of waking up the guys who were currently sound asleep. He stuck his arm through the curtain, struggling to set his wand on the bedside table from how badly his hands were shaking. Hope felt herself smirk as she saw how flustered Harry looked, growing frustrated from his wand not wanting to stay where he set it. Her smalls fingers fiddled with the T-shirt adorning his body giving him a slight pout nearly being thrown back as he swiftly tugged off his grey shirt exposing his toned body off to her. She felt herself growing hot as she pressed wet kisses along his neck, smirking to herself as she heard small gasps leaving his lips.
"Bloody... you are going to ruin me"
"Aww, don't get all shy on me now, Potter. " Hope teased nipping at a small spot above his collar, hearing the groan leave his parted lips. She didn't seem to notice the small change on his face, letting out a squeal as he flipped her onto her back. His eyes had darkened significantly, locking eyes with Hope as he hovered over her. His long arms were on either side of her face, caging her in as his hips ground down on her feeling his arms nearly buckle as he caught the look of pleasure spread across her face.
"I don't like being teased, sweetheart..."
"Holy-" Hope choked out at the choice of his words, throwing her head back onto the pillows as he continued to grind his clothed member against her core. Her hands reached up to tug on his dark locks, leaning her neck to the side as he mouthed at her neck. He sucked greedily on her tan skin, not paying attention to the dark bruises already forming.
"You look so pretty underneath me," He groaned resting his knees in between her thighs nearly losing it as the brunette wrapped her slender legs around his waist pulling him close, running his hands underneath her shirt feeling her breath hitch at the soft touch of his cold fingers.
"Fuck... I need you please," She whined, feeling her breathing grow heavier as his large hands grabbed onto her waist pulling her down closer to him. He leaned down to press a kiss onto her parted lips, moaning into her mouth as her hands brushed over the growing tent in his dark sweatpants.
His hips quickened the pace grinding themselves onto her, trying to create some friction successfully drawing a moan from Hope. The brunette snuck her hands into the waistband of his sweats feeling him groan heavily into the crook of her neck before they stiffened, they sound of people shuffling from outside the curtains caught their attention. Harry let out a few curse words resting his flushed forehead against hers waiting to see if the noise went away. Unfortunately, it seemed to have grown louder as his fellow roommate had woken up somehow managing to wake everyone else around him.
"For Godric’s sake-"
"Put your shirt on, Potter," Hope groaned, feeling rather pissed at the fact that their current actions had to be halted. Harry rolled off of her, tugging the material over his head letting his back rest on the headboard his red cheeks standing out on his pale skin. The brunette leaned against his shoulder, her eyes fluttering shut as his hand rubbed subtle circles on her exposed thigh.
"Oi, Harry, why are your curtains closed-"
"-I betcha he's got a girl in there! Are y'all shaggin'! " Her cheeks grew pink, giggling at the words of the Irish boy using her own wand to undo the muffliato opening the curtains with a flick of her wand making direct eye contact with Dean and Semus. She flashed a teasing grin, making her way off of Harrys bed not before stuffing her feet into her moose slippers.
"It was like 5 am two seconds ago, what time is it?" Hope questioned, stretching out her limbs from being in one position for a long time. She let out a small yawn, covering her mouth with her hand looking at the two boys for an answer. The pair of friends both looked at one another before a voice off to the side caught her attention.
"It's 7 am, although I have no idea why they're awake at this time. I'm still half asleep” Neville mumbled groggily, “Maybe just asleep...", His blonde hair laying messily over his face nuzzling further into the pillows. Hope let out a soft thank you, running her hand through her curls feeling herself grow nervous at the pair of eyes watching her, "Okay, well thank you for keeping me company, H. Sorry if I intruded... I best be off."
"I'll walk you out," Harry stood up from his position, adjusting the newfound hoodie lower on his hips most likely to hide his erection which made her giggle. She flashed him a knowing smile, ignoring the glare he sent her as he walked her down to the Common Room where there were thankfully no students lingering.
Hope was about to make her way towards the portrait stumbling as she felt a hand pull her back. She crashed into Harry's chest, looking up at the green eyed boy whose eyes were scanning her entire face. He let his large hands rest on her hips, holding her in place as he nervously bit his lip.
"About what happened upstairs... w-what does that mean for us?"
"I mean... I think we should play it out and see what happens then. I do like you, H. But, I still have to figure out where in the world I stand with Malfoy,"
"Okay. I can live with that... so, theoretically, if a so called boy wanted to kiss you-" Hope rolled her eyes at his words, grabbing onto his soft hoodie pulling him down to press a very much needed kiss onto his lips. He rested his hands on her waist tugging her closer, feeling his body melt into the soft kiss nearly leaning back in to recapture her lips as she pulled away. They both simultaneously grinned at one another, parting from one another as Hope began making her way towards the exit.
"Wait!" She spun on her heel, letting out a soft laugh as she saw the boy struggle to remove the Quidditch hoodie off of his body, handing her the warm material giving her a cheesy grin. Hope felt her heart swell at the endearing gift, pressing a long kiss on his cheek uttering a soft thank you. Wow... I thought Ron was exaggerating when he said he couldn't get enough of Lavender, the boy thought to himself sheepishly scratching the back of his head as he jogged back upstairs to talk to the boys awaiting in their dorm room.
November 10th, 1996. The Courtyard. 1:46 pm.
"Hopeeee!" The sound of someone screaming her name made her jump, dropping her book onto the hard floor as she looked around for the source of the noise coming face to face with the Weasley twins who were carrying several bags in their hands, "Why weren't you at Hogsmeade today? You never miss a chance to buy your precious chocolate,"
The twins made their way over to the brunette who had just bent over to pick up the book that had fallen out of her hands, wiping it off rather briskly. Just as Hope had opened her lips, George popped a chocolate ball into her mouth a grin on his lips. She chewed on the sweet candy happily, humming appreciatively at their choice of sweets focusing her attention back on the large book yelping as Fred slammed the book shut.
"We free our schedules, just for you to read in front of us? Nuh uh, not in front of us, love."
"And look, we went out of our way to buy you your favorite candy. Even that fancy chocolate you like so much-"
"You did not!"
"Oh yes we did." Fred chirped, taking a bite out his licorice wand as he watched the look of awe on the witch's face as George handed her a rather full bag of candy. A large grin made its way onto her face, wrapping her arms around both of her favorite twins hugging them tightly, "Don't kill us yet, love. I would like to open our shop first, then I'm all yours."
"Oh can it, Weasley." She chuckled, shoving the both of them off looking down at the bag on her lap sifting through it to try to find another chocolate ball happily popping it into her mouth," You guys are so sweet."
"Anything for you, love. Now would you mind telling us what has had you in such a prissy mood these past few weeks,"
"I appreciate the concern you guys, but it's nothing. If anything, today, I'm in a really good mood." She grinned, thinking back to the heated kisses and the sensual touches that were burned into her memory. The twins shared a look, choosing to pester her about it later watching her stand up from her seat on the stone bench holding her book and the bag of treats they had brought her close to her chest, "It was nice to see you guys. Don't forget about Tuesday after school, don't get your panties in a twist after I beat both of y'alls arses."
"You wish, Lupin." The both shouted out simultaneously, the smile on both of their faces growing as she swiftly flipped both of them the bird watching as she made her way inside.
"Hey, Fred?"
"Yea, George?"
"Was it just me, or were those hickeys on her neck?"
"Oh no, those were definitely hickeys. Our little Hope is all grown up,"
"Yea... she sure is." George mumbled, feeling his chest tighten at the thought of another guy marking her up. The red head hadn't said a thing out of fear that he would get rejected but seeing her today with those dark love bites on her neck only fueled the jealousy coursing through his veins, wanting nothing more than to kill the little boy who had his hands on her. George shook his head of those thoughts, choosing to focus on Fred's ongoing plan on pranking Filch. As long as Hope is happy, then I'm happy. And if he hurts her, then I'll gladly throw him into the Lake.

Time Turner

Warnings: cursing, fluff, and some bickering between the two groups
December 6th, 1976. The East Wing. 11:37 pm.
Her hand had a tight grip on her wand, eyeing the empty corridor. The corridor looked different to her, it looked not nearly as weathered. No matter how much she prayed over and over hoping it was all a coincidence, she knew nothing would change the outcome of the situation. Not too long ago she was standing by the Greenhouses with a group of friends, twirling a necklace that they had found out by the Forbidden Forest. Next thing you know, she was left outside by herself, the necklace clutched in her hand. Diana wasn't stupid, she knew that the necklace they were messing with was a time turner. Which is why she took it upon herself to let the cool metal rest against her neck in case anything had happened. And something indeed, did happen.
"Lumos" She whispered, almost wincing at the harsh light coming from the wand. The light blue hue emitting from the tip of her wand lit up the corridor, making it easier for her to find her way down the hallway without bumping into any unknown objects. She slowly advanced forward, recognizing where she was at almost straight away, a reassuring smile making its way onto her face.
The small sounds coming from the end of the corridor calmed her down, knowing she was close to the Herbology classroom. Diana was rather fond of going there in her free time with a classmate of hers; Neville Longbottom. Neville was one of the sweetest guys in her grade, clumsiest, but sweetest nonetheless. At the mention of her friends name she felt a pang in her heart, knowing she was far from home and seeing her friends seemed like a silver lining in this night. The second she had muttered the counterspell, darkness engulfed her vision, a loud thump was heard further down the hall making her freeze up.
"Padfoot! You said the coast was clear-"
"-it was! Stop being so loud, it could be a professor for Godric's sa-"
"-SHH... I think I see someone"
The sound of bickering male voices echoed throughout the empty corridor, sent the curly haired witch into a frenzy, ducking underneath the dark oak bench resting on a nearby wall. Diana nuzzled her way underneath the bench pressing herself as close as possible to the wall, holding back a gasp at how cold stone felt against her burning skin. Her hand was tightly wrapped around her wand waiting for the set of footsteps to pass by, but they never came.
"Who's there?" A voice let out, shortly after they had spoken a loud grunt followed. She felt her eyes bulge out of her head as four set of feet appeared a couple feet away from the bench in the blink of an eye, confusion making its way onto her face. Diana gripped her wand tighter, nearly letting out a yelp as a pebble embedded itself into the soft flesh of her cheek, wiping away at her face as quietly as she could holding her breath.
"Peter, you're insufferable. We don't go around asking to get expelled. I would much rather students not know about us, I have a reputation to obtain." From her position under the bench she could barely make out their faces, but she still noted that the one on the far left was the one speaking. From what she could tell, he was tall but he wasn't as tall as the two boys standing on either side of him. She caught sight of an even shorter guy, unlike the pudgy boy who was only an two or three inches shorter than the tallest, he seemed the one closer to her height.
"Let's go inside before Moony here passes out from exhaustion"
"I'm not even tired Pads-"
"-shut it, Moonsey. You're tired."
She let out slight sound that resembled a cough, instantly tensing up pressing her face onto the cold stone floor. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Who the hell put all this dust here, she thought to herself angrily tugging her hair out of from underneath her chest, trying to let her hair cover her face as much as possible. The laughter coming from the four boys faded, a long silence quickly filled the corridor. She mentally cursed herself once again, tugging her robes closer to her body, seeing a set of footsteps come closer to her.
"Homenum Revelio" She let out a small squeal, feeling her body being tugged out from underneath the bench, like a hand had wrapped around her entire body, her skirt riding up her thighs. She immediately pulled down the thick fabric of the skirt, scrambling up onto her feet rubbing her thighs painfully as they had rubbed onto the stone floor rather harshly. Her hands brushed away small strands of hair that had managed to fall onto her face, eyeing the four dark silhouettes standing menacingly in front of her.
Lumos, she thought to herself, letting the light shine towards them. Her breath got stuck in her throat as she saw their faces, nearly freezing up as she locked eyes with the spitting image of Harry Potter. One of the guys was sporting dark brown hair, that fell a little above his shoulders in perfect semi curls. His features were sharp, and his eyes pierced into hers, a mischievous glint in his eyes. The guy standing next to him had bright hazel colored eyes, small hints of grey swirled in there, hidden behind the infamous pair of round glasses, his messy black hair splayed in all sorts of different directions. Huh, I just thought Harry hated fixing his hair.
Beside him was the guy she assumed to be her height, but he surprisingly was about 4 inches taller than her with fairly blonde hair, and big green eyes. His cheeks were slightly rosy and covered in faint freckles, but his overall appearance made him look fairly young compared to his friends. The one whose eyes had caught her attention were watching with such curiosity, his big eyes were glossed over with sleep, but they still looked absolutely breathtaking. Long, pale white scars scattered his face, along with a number of freckles splattered on his cheeks.
"Why were you hiding underneath the bench?" The shorter guy muttered, his voice surprisingly deeper than she had expected making her eyebrows raise a bit. This guy was just full of surprises, she waved her wand around in a series of tiny circles, letting small spurts of fire reach all lamps in the hall. A warmth spread throughout the seemingly cold corridor making her relax slightly, running her tongue over her bottom braces out of habit. Carefully tucking her wand into her robes, making sure not to let her guard down around the four of them.
"No particular reason. But what I will tell you is that I'm waiting to hide out until morning, so I can get to Professor Dumbledore and speak with him" She explained, straightening out her uniform, catching sight of the bright yellow patch on her left breast pocket which filled her with comfort knowing she was safe as long as she kept cover. Looking back up at the guys, a look of confusion and bewilderment displayed across their faces. The guy with glasses walked forward, his hand jutted out in front of him a cheeky smile making its way onto his face, deep dimples poking out on his cheeks.
"Well, we will help you on your so called 'hiding out'. I'm James. James Potter" He spoke, his voice full of mischief, a sense of cockiness radiating off of him. She grasped his hand, a feeling of familiarity washing over her as she heard him utter his last name shaking it firmly shifting her hand away eyeing the other three catching sight of the lion of their robes. Of course I would get the luck of bumping into a group of Gryffindor boys.
"I'm Sirius Black" The tall guy stepped up, grasping her hand in his and kissing the back of it softly. Her eyebrows furrowed pulling her hand away slightly flustered, tucking one of her loose curls away from her face. A small motion in her peripheral vision caught her attention, turning towards the guy with the scars whose hand was out a tired look adorning his face. Grasping his hand making eye contact the whole time, seeing a cheeky glint in his eyes before he turned away tucking his hands into his pockets.
"I'm Remus Lupin, and that's Peter Pettigrew." Peter faced her, giving her a crooked smile tilting his head slightly towards the floor as a sign of greeting. She waved awkwardly a teasing grin making its way onto her face, pointing her gaze down at the floor kicking the stone floor slightly before looking back up at them. Harry had never gone into full detail about his father and friends, which meant that she would have to go and learn all about the infamous Marauders, eyeing them curiously.
"I'm Diana Lopez. I should probably get going, it was nice to meet you guys! It sounded like you guys were pretty eager to get Moony to bed." She teased, seeing Remus' face flush slightly smacking a chuckling Sirius, seeing the dark haired boy winking at the curly haired witch. She rolled her eyes looking around the empty corridor a small movement catching her eye, instinctively pulling out her wand flicking it slightly towards the floor a huge gust of wind blowing the fire out. If it had been a professor, they would have asked what they were doing out of bed. And since she heard nothing, she could only assume that it had been a student eavesdropping on their conversation. The four boys pulled their wands out, turning all sorts of directions leaving no place undetected. Remus' once tired mood seem to sober up his eyes scanning his surroundings attentively. Diana casted a silent muffliato so no one would hear any spells or incantations being shouted, her grip on her wand tightening.
"Expelliarmus" Diana shouted pointing her wand toward the direction of the movement. A small grunt followed, the sound of wood clattering to the floor catching her attention. Picking up her speed jogging towards the direction, seeing a blur of robes lean down to pick up their wand swishing their wand in my direction. Her adrenaline kicked in, her instincts backing her up completely sending her wand into a flurry without a second thought.
"Stupefy!"
"Protego!" She instinctively shouted, seeing the harsh amber light clashing with the light grey streak coming towards her. The tall silhouette turned around running down the corridor, their footsteps echoing as they got further away. Her feet picked up their pace, nearly catching up to the running figure that unexpectedly happened to turn a harsh right, catching her off guard. The footsteps behind her grew fainter as her speed increased, seeing the guy in front of her slow down. She leaped, feeling the wind rush through her hair before feeling his back crash onto her chest as they both came tumbling down. A loud grunt left her body as she felt the soft, plush grass on her legs wrapping an arm around the figure below her rather tightly pointing her wand at him.
"Petrificus Totalus" She muttered, seeing his body freeze up. Her hands twirled him around locking eyes with a pair of harsh brown eyes, that seemed to be staring up at her angrily. She waved her wand around the two of them, muttering an incantation to hide them from the eyes of the approaching 4 boys. Diana flicked her wand, seeing him unfreeze and then scramble up to his feet. His breathing was heavy, and his eyes were glaring daggers into her. The moonlight gave some light in the dark evening, letting her get a good view of his sharp features. His long, silky black hair hung a bit past his shoulder flowing softly from the wind his body towering over her. He stood a good half a foot taller than her, his anger radiating off of him letting her know what she had done had truly pissed him off.
"Do you find this amusing?! I'll-"
"Shh... you don't want them to hear you, do you?" Cutting him off rather aggressively with a sense of urgency in her voice stepping outside of the bubble coming face to face with the group, a look of relief washing over their faces.
"You're fast-" Peter choked out, his cheeks a bright shade of red. Diana giggled, letting her hands rest casually in front of her eyeing the group. Sirius' eyes were still on high alert, looking around for any hidden students lurking around, along with Remus whose body still seemed rather stiff.
"Just a bit. But, uhm... don't worry about the person. I'm pretty sure they ran into the Forbidden Forest out of fear,"
"Well aren't you just the sweetest, look at her Moonsey. She's already looking out for us," Sirius teased, wrapping his muscular arm around her shoulder crushing her into his chest. She tried to push against him, but to no avail letting out a huff of air letting the shaggy haired boy swing her back and forth, "Come on, love. Fight back," Diana shrugged, bringing her knee to meet his jewels sending the boy crumpling to the floor. The other Marauders burst out laughing, mainly out of surprise that she had the balls to knee Sirius.
"H-holy fuck..."
"You alright there, Siri?"
"I'm pretty sure I saw the light there-"
"Oh stop being so over dramatic." Diana bent down, letting the boy wrap his arm around her shoulders standing up to his full height some of his weight resting on her, "Would any of you guys like your man back?"James chuckled, making his way over to her practically hoisting Sirius up a grin etched on his face at the pained look on his face.
"We'll see you later, Diana. Don't have too much fun without us,"
"Wouldn't dare dream about it," She waved to the four boys, seeing them jostling the shaggy haired boy around laughing to herself facing the open space off to her side letting out a breath she didn't know she was holding, waving her wand seeing the bubble waver the tall man start making its way through stuffing it into her robe pocket. Her hands brushed some leaves that had managed to get on her robes, tugging her rising skirt down her tan legs looking back up at the guy with the harsh brown eyes.
"I'm sorry for coming at you like that, I thought you were someone who wasn't supposed to be there. But I didn't mean to cause any damage. I'm Diana...Diana Lopez. Nice to meet you." She apologized, jutting her hand out a sheepish smile on her face. His eyes trailed down to her awaiting hand taking it into his large hand, shaking it rather firmly before letting his hand hang down by his side. Running his fingers through his hair, shoving his hands into his slacks drumming his thumbs on his thighs from inside his pockets, a nasty habit he had gotten into after 4th Year.
"Severus Snape... you didn't disarm me because of The Marauders, right?"
"The- the who?!" She chuckled feigning confusion, looking up at him through her glasses, her nose crinkling up cutely as she let out a tiny giggle. Dear god, this is not possible. My Potions Professor is standing in front of me. Would it be illegal to say that I find all these men attractive? Diana- you cannot find them attractive, she scolded herself, her face flushing pink. Realization dawned on him, realizing that she truly wasn't lying about why she had disarmed him.
"Nevermind that. I best be off to my dorm..." He announced turning on his heel walking away from the small girl, with the curly locks whose hair was almost the same length as his. The leather of his shoes contrasting nicely with the plush grass, taking large strides to get to his dorm quicker nearly jumping out of his skin as he saw her walking beside him, her legs having to take faster and shorter strides to keep up with his long strides. She eyed his feet noticing they had slowed down so she could keep up, a grin making its way onto her face looking up at him nodding at him in appreciation.
"A Hufflepuff, huh? How come I've never seen you before?" Severus broke the silence holding the door open to the girl, shutting it softly as they entered the warmer hallway. He saw that she had tensed up at the mention of that, immediately racking his brain with a new topic to change the topic, his hands getting clammy of the thought of the first decent student he's met in a while being uncomfortable. The question Severus has asked filled her heart with a pang of hurt, not knowing when she would be able to return back to her friends and family. She sighed, facing him from her sitting position on a ledge that they had sat on, after walking for a couple of minutes in a comforting silence.
"You're not gonna believe me but it's better to get things off my chest than to hold them in, am I right? Well...I came here because of a time turner. The time turner had been broken before these girls that I was with started messing with the 'pretty necklace' so I put it on in case anything did happen. And next thing you know, I bumped into those four, the ones you call 'The Marauders'. So I truly don't know how I'm going to get back... especially since I have no idea how many turns they managed to do considering how far back I went." She explained, running her hands through her messy curls catching Severus' eye, his bottom lip trapped between his teeth. The silence grew longer, her nerves getting the best out of her with every second ticking by. Severus stood up, jerking his head as a sign for her to get up and follow him. Diana stood up pulling her robes closer to her body, shivering slightly as the wind had gotten increasingly got colder the longer the night dragged on. He waved his wand at her silently without her noticing, keeping his eyes staring ahead a warmth washing over her, feeling her whole body fill up with the warmth sighing contently.
"Come on... I think sleep is needed for the two of us. If you don't mind, we will be making a trip to my dorm. The guys who had to share a dorm with me, were too scared of me so they are sharing with other guys in our year. Pretty irrational if you ask me... but you get to have a whole room to yourself" She giggled quietly letting the comforting silence dawn over the two of them. Severus reached behind him wrapping his hands around her robe, tugging her into a secret entrance, hearing her gasping softly as a secret door had opened out of the blue. If she was being completely honest she had zoned out and had no idea how they had gotten there, and what he had done to let himself into the common room. His grip had loosened, removing his hold on her entirely swishing his wand around the pair letting themselves melt into their surroundings, gesturing her to follow him. Her small legs could only go so far, trying to keep up with him nearly bumping into him as he slowly came to a stop. The smell of mint and aftershave filled her nostrils, a smell that was so far fetched from what the Hufflepuff common room smelt like, but she didn't seem to mind it as much.
"My dorm isn't messy or anything, but be careful not to touch anything of mine. All of my belongings are jinxed so only I can lay a finger on them." Severus explained, turning the silver knob opening the door for her to pass through. She was in awe at the gorgeous emerald walls, the light grey curtains framing the window nicely giving the room an elegant vibe to it. There were four empty beds, all adorned with the same emerald comforter, fluffy white pillows pressed against the headrest. Diana liked the coziness of the room, unlike the weird sensation she felt in the main common room area before she could continue admiring the room he had turned the lights on. The room looked even prettier, the emerald practically sparkled with the help of the vibrant light in the room, the silver lining on the sheets giving it that final touch. She could immediately tell which one was his by the letters and photographs taped to the wall surrounding the bed farthest from the other three empty beds, small journals and trinquets adorning the dresser beside his bed.
"Woah... your room is absolutely breathtaking. I like the decorations by the way, gives the room a homier feeling." She giggled, playfully shoving against him his body going rigid. He wasn't used to people touching him without intending to hurt him. The last person to have done that was Lily Evans, but he brushed it off knowing those weren't her intentions.
Diana sluggishly walked over to the bed closest to the window plopping down tiredly, face first into the cool comforter. The comforter was soft, and cozy which only egged her to not move from her current position but knew she had to get dressed out of her uniform. A switch going off in her head, lifting her head up staring at Severus who was already staring her. Standing up a sheepish smile on her face, making her way over to him after having kicked her shoes off at the foot of the bed. He eyed her curiously, tugging his robes off placing them on a coat hanger near his dresser, fiddling with his emerald striped tie tugging it off his neck tossing it on the bed. Diana’s heart fluttered a little bit at the sight of him undressing in front of her, shaking her head of those thoughts about her professor.
"I umh...need something to sleep into... do you think-"
"-Lily left something here that belonged to James. And a few of her other clothes... I was going to throw them into the fireplace but you seem to need them more" He muttered quietly, making his way over to his trunk pulling out an oversized maroon sweater the words Quidditch Captain stitched across the back in a lovely golden thread. Diana ran her finger over the name embedded into the left breast; James F. Potter. Severus handed her a pair of clothes that were neatly folded, her small hands clutching the soft fabric thanking him quietly. She scanned the room for a bathroom, briskly walking over to the cold room proceeding to shut the door behind her.
Diana stared into her reflection, her doe eyes staring back at her as she proceeded to undress. Her wand was set on the counter, along with her robes that contrasted deeply with the stark white marble counter. The grey sweater coming off her body shivering as the cold air touched her, goosebumps covering her body, leaving her in her white button up and black skirt. After she had stripped to just her undergarments and a pair of white knee high socks that she had found, oddly enough, stuffed into the clothes she was handed, but she wasn't complaining. Her hands steadily picked up a soft pair of shorts out of the options she had, pulling it over her legs, hastily tugging the thick sweater over her head inhaling the sweet scent of mango, the soft fabric coming to mid thigh.
Granted she did have to adjust the size of the shorts since they were a tad bit too small around her hips, but besides that the clothes fit her nicely and comfortably. Tossing her clothes into the hamper, hopefully to wash them tomorrow morning considering she had no other clothes. A knock on the dark oak door interrupted her train of thoughts, hurriedly opening the door locking eyes with a startled Severus. His eyes trailed up and down her figure, nodding hastily letting her come back into the room her hands fiddling with her wand, setting it down noisily on the dresser beside the bed she had chosen. A soft clank echoed through the room as her 12" wand clattered to the floor a blush making its way onto her face bending over hastily to pick her wand off the floor. She huffed opting for opening a drawer, and gently placing the wand inside.
"Are you comfortable?" His voice echoed through the nearly empty room, scratching his head awkwardly. She nodded going underneath the comforter, moaning quietly at how comfortable the cold sheets felt letting her body melt into the plush beds. Severus' head snapped up at the sound, his heart beat increasingly slightly before he pushed the restless feelings deep down.
"Goodnight, Severus,"
"Goodnight, Diana..."
That climbing sensation was something he had spent years trying to push away but everything the curly haired witch did managed to weasel her way into every crevice, clambering into bed waving his wand letting the lights fade away, sleep overcoming the both of you.

Warnings: cursing, slight making out, slight angst towards the end
January 5th, 1977. The Slytherin Dorms. 7:38 am.
Small slivers of a deep green light glittered on the wall, piercing through the window in the room making a certain curly haired girl groan, the light hitting her closed eyes rather harshly. Sleepily sitting up, stretching softly letting out small sounds of appreciation as she felt her back crack.
Diana swung her bare legs over the edge of the bed letting her sock covered feet touch the stone floor, making her way over to the window eyeing the rays of light streaming through the water a smile tugging on my lips. The young girl made herself comfortable on a small ledge that she had grown to love, bringing her knees up to her chest. Resting her hands on the ledge of the window closing her eyes softly, basking in the warmth of the sunlight caressing her skin. Ever since she had arrived, her memories of her present had grown increasingly fuzzy. If she tried hard enough, she could remember the faces of a few of her best friends but besides that she could hardly remember anything.
"Morning" A husky voice whispered, snapping her out of her day dream twisting her head to lock eyes with Severus. His head was slumped against his pillow, staring up at her making her smile grow wider at how adorable he looked hurrying over to him stopping herself from jumping on his bed. He rolled his eyes, lifting his comforter knowing this scheme from when Lily tried to always cuddle, she was always cold, but knowing he would never want to.
He had only known his girl for a couple weeks after spending most of his time with her in his dorm. Dumbledore had sent meals up to her so the other kids wouldn't be suspicious of the dainty Hufflepuff in the Slytherin Dormitories. It was now the first day of classes since the holidays, she had been here for three weeks, a couple days before the holidays had started, but he had managed to grow surprisingly close to her after being so shut off from the rest of the world for so long.
Nuzzling her way underneath the covers, wrapping her arms around his bare waist, having grown accustomed to him being shirtless with her as she made him feel incredibly safe. He wrapped his arms around her, inhaling the sweet scent of honey her hair always seemed to give off enjoying her soft touches. Rubbing her thumbs subconsciously on his milky skin, pulling him closer against her small frame intertwining their legs together.
A knock on the door broke them out of that trance, feeling his muscles tense up underneath her hands. He sighed deeply pulling away from her hurriedly pulling on a jumper, she stood up hurrying into a corner whispering incantations over her looking down at her toes seeing she blended perfectly into the floor underneath her.
"Who is it?"
"Regulus... did you forget that I was supposed to be coming by for that potion?" A raspy voice murmured, opening the door to Severus' room, a tall guy with long dark hair stood in the room eyeing the room his features blank of any emotion. Diana immediately knew she recognized this guy, she tried to figure out how she recognized him knowing she hadn't left the room in a quite of bit of time. Her hand held onto her wand tightly eyeing the two boys in front her, her heart hammering at her chest. What kind of water are these guys drinking, holy hell, every single guy I've seen looks like they came right out of a magazine.
"Right..." Severus mumbled, briskly walking over to his dresser shuffling through all his belongings a sense of urgency in his movements, his bottom lip trapped in between his teeth. The sound of papers and journals shuffling filled the room before it stopped all together, his delicate fingers wrapped around a vial of a deep violet substance, the mop of dark hair stalked forward his eyes wide in amusement. Severus pursed his lips a hardened look on his face, an expectant look on his face as he eyed Regulus, the dark haired bloke huffed angrily pulling out a bag that practically sagged from the amount of coins inside setting them into his hand. Diana's eyebrows furrowed, eyeing the two seeing the contrast between the two Slytherins. Severus had a dark aura around him, even his features were deemed dark, while Regulus had a more light aurora. They both had this authority that oozed out of them both, but out of the two of them it was instantly noticeable who was in charge.
"Are you positive this will-"
"Are you questioning my abilities...Black?" Severus sneered his eyes darkening, his grip on the bottle tightening stuffing the coins into his pocket. Regulus' mouth closed rather quickly a glare set on his face, placing his hand out for Severus to place the bottle in his hand which he did gladly, waving his wand sending the awkwardly proportioned boy stumbling out of his room, the door shutting behind him. Sighing deeply his eyes looking around the room, a smirk tugging at his plush lips swishing his wand rather secretively. A loud laugh left her mouth as she was sent tumbling into his arms, her body fading back to normal making him smile warmly.
"I have classes soon. You will most likely be left by yourself until everyone heads to their first class. Try to be as inconspicuous as possible until then... alright?" He spoke softly, rubbing her arms soothingly a sad frown making its way onto his face. Tugging at his dark jumper pulling him closer, nuzzling into his warmth sighing rather happily. His arms wrapped around her tiny frame, setting his head into the crook of her neck a place he'd truly come to appreciate.
"Go get dressed, Sev. I'll get dressed out here, then I'll go and explore for a bit after I take a nap. But don't worry, I'll be here by the time you come back," Nodding against her soft hair, thumbs brushing the exposed skin of her shoulders pulling away from her walking over to his dresser. Waving his wand his clothes coming to him rather quickly, folding themselves neatly at the foot of his bed. Grabbing the materials opening the bathroom door, shutting it behind him softly. After Diana had gotten dressed, she pulled James' sweater over her head nuzzling into the familiar article of clothing, having worn it quite a bit since she had no other article of clothes asides from her uniform. Her fingers fiddling with the maroon fabric seeing as it matched very nicely with her skin tone, and the pastel yellow nail polish on her fingernails.
"You okay?"
"Yea! I'm fine, just gonna miss you s'all" Diana flushed red as she confessed that out loud, looking at Severus from the corner of her eye seeing his cheeks with a splash of pink on them. He cleared his throat distracting himself by placing all his homework and books into his satchel, tucking his wand into his pocket. Walking over to the door placing a gentle hand on the knob, turning back to the blushing girl sending her a warm smile making his way out of the room.
The loud ticking sounds coming from the clock seemed to have grown louder as the time passed by, rather slowly might she add, Diana's patience wearing thin. Letting out a sigh for what seemed like the 1,000th time looking at the clock, jumping up excitedly as she saw it had passed a little over 3 o'clock meaning she would be able to go outside since there was a low chance of any kids wandering the halls.
"Excuse me? Have you seen a tall guy with- hey... It's you!" She froze turning around hastily seeing the pair of blue eyes she had seen a couple weeks ago, looking down at her. A smile made its way onto her face waving at him, peering behind him as I saw the boy with the sandy hair jogging over to them. Diana waved warmly opening her mouth to say something to Remus before being smothered into the Chaser's chest, the familiar scent the sweater once gave engulfed her, rather than smelling so strongly of pineapples it smelt of mangos. She inhaled the intoxicating scent wrapping her arms around his firm torso, giggling as he swayed her side to side. A loud cough interrupted them, pulling away hastily watching the sandy haired boy eye the two of them teasingly.
"Hey Remus! You look a lot better since I last saw you, you doin' alright?" She asked, running her fingers through her curls seeing the boy grin rather wolfishly fiddling with the hem of his grey sweater. James snickered, patting his shoulder rather roughly before something caught his attention. The maroon sweater adorning the body of the bubbly, curly haired girl in front of him was...his. He remembered the day he had given the sweater to Lily after a day at Hogsmeade, that winter night happened to be the one time she had forgotten her winter coat so he lend her his Quidditch Captain sweater. A pang of hurt filled his chest as he now saw it adorning another girls body, thoughts racing through his head.
"W-where'd you get this?" James questioned, trying to play it off casually but both Remus and Diana weren't stupid and knew that he was hurt. She bit her bottom lip, searching through her head for an answer that didn't give her away playing with the hem of the sweater seeing the sleeves go past her hands. Diana felt herself swaying on the balls of her feet, peering up at the two talls guys who looked down at her expectantly.
"Well, after I chased after Severus a couple weeks ago. He took me to his room, so I could sleep somewhere because I couldn't be let into the Hufflpuff's Common Room for some odd reason. When I went to get dressed for bed, I had realized that I had nothing to change into so I asked him if he had anything that I could change into for the night, and he pulled out this sweater. He said something about Lily leaving it in his room one day, and just never came back for it so he let me use it. And so I've been wearing it quite a lot. But I can give it back if you'd like" He shook his head, his features relaxing at the knowledge that she didn't toss it away. But after a short couple moments his features hardened once again, peering up at her squinting from the harsh sun hitting his bright, blue eyes.
"You had to spend your Christmas break with Snivellus? I'm sorry, doll. Why didn't you come find us sooner, we would of gladly let you sleep with us." The tone of his voice was full of disgust, and it confused her. Snivellus? Was he talking about Snape? The girl hastily began to tug the maroon sweater over her head, fixing her uniform underneath placing the warm fabric into his hands a soft smile on her face. His eyebrows furrowing clutching the fabric tightly, about to hand it back before she shushed him softly.
"You can have it back... and I would appreciate it if you didn't insult Severus in front of me. I don't know what you guys may have had in the past, but if it's about Lily, I can assure you he won't be bothering-"
"That's where you're wrong, doll. Severus is in love with Lily, always will be. You may think he likes you and all but he's a stubborn git. He has never been capable of loving anyone except for her, but she doesn't want him. She's with me," Hurt pang throughout her body, eyes stinging as the familiar warm sensation of tears making their way to her eyes.
"I don't like, Severus. He's an incredibly good friend, a good person at that, one of the closest ones I've had in a long time. So don't you dare and try to put words into my mouth, Potter," James' face softened an apologetic look flashed on his features, trying to hold onto her hands but he was too late. The girl had turned on her heel and was briskly walking away, her robes and curls flowing with the wind.
January 5th, 1977. Outside The Quidditch Pitch. 5:19 pm.
Diana's hands hurt from digging up all the jagged rocks and chucking them as far as they could go, rather angrily plopping down on a soft spot in the grass. It had been a couple hours since James had stated that Severus was still madly in love with Lily, but the hurt of knowing she might not mean something to him like he meant to her was still there. After their whole month together, she expected that he had at least felt their friendship to be quite special considering they had been incredibly close to one another. Which sounded quite silly to her now, considering Severus has know Lily for many years. The cool air helped relax her flustered state, letting her eyes flutter shut, leaves rustling above her.
"It's weird seeing you without your wand," The sound of someone whispering into her ear made her jump, nearly falling over in the grass clutching at her chest, glaring at the shaggy haired boy who just grinned cheesily at her.
"You arse, I felt my heart fall out of my mouth."
"Sorry, love." The calming silence that followed after made him eye the girl, who was staring out at the open space her hands fiddling with the hem of her skirt. He let out a small breath, inching his way over to her nuding his arm against her, "You alright?"
"James told me that Severus didn't have room in his 'little to non existent' heart for anyone other than Lily and the Dark Arts. I suppose it's fair considering we've only known each other for a quarter of the time they knew one another; stupid, I know but... I'm just-," Her voice quivered, covering her face with her hands feeling the warm tears falling down her cheeks. Soft cries emitted from her lips, hurriedly wiping away the tears angrily. Sirius leaned closer to the girl, wrapping his arm around her shoulder holding her close to his chest. Tiny hands grasping his uniform wet streaks making their way through his uniform, tightening his hold on the crying girl his hatred for the greasy haired fool increasingly growing.
"Love... it's alright. You can stay with me if you'd like. James can sleep on the floor, like the ole deer that he is," A giggle left her lips at the pun, looking up at him staring into his baby blue eyes. His face lit up, feeling better to know he was able to make her smile hugging her once again but pulling away abruptly as a herd of footsteps made their way over to them. Sirius stood up, his wand at the ready staring at the figures standing before them. James, Remus and Peter looked worried, but once they saw the two of them standing before them they relaxed. James ran a hand through his wild hair, pushing his glasses further up the bridge of his nose.
"Severus thinks we're hiding you which is bloody insulting but it's whatever. He's absolutely pissed. I would stay out of his way, Padfoot. Come on, Diana... we need to get you to Severus before he throws a-" Before the black haired boy could grab a hold of the short girl, he was hit by a spell feeling himself thrown backwards. His body slammed into a tree, his friends pulling out their wands anger evident on all of their faces. Severus had a murderous look in his eye, shooting strings of spells at the Marauders while Diana looked at them with an immense fear deep inside. Running over to James, wiping a trickle of blood off his cheek his face scrunched up in pain. His fingers held onto her hands as she helped him up, a burning rage flickering inside of him drawing his wand out. Before she could stop him, James had Severus up in the air with his wand thrown across the plush grass.
"James!"
"Stay out of it, Diane, he deserves it! All these years of chasing after my girl, and I never was able to do anything. Let me at him-" The moment those words left his mouth, they stopped as he was throw to the side muttering out a loud yelp as he landed on the dirt. Diana quickly helped Severus down, relief washing over her letting her feet take her over to the dark haired wizard, wrapping her arms around the tall lanky boy. She heard his heart hammering loudly against her cheek, his hands gripping her tightly.
"Severus, everything's okay. I wanted to have a moment by myself. I should have told you beforehand, but the guys had nothing to do with this. I promise..." Diana whispered against him, feeling his body relax against her feeling him let out a large sigh. She turned to face her friends giving them a soft smile, looking up at Severus whose pale face was flushed red with anger, "I'll meet you in your dorm, and we can go to Great Hall afterwards, alright?" He reluctantly nodded pressing his forehead against hers, briskly walking away from the group. Diana turned to face the marauders who were all standing rather awkwardly, feeling her fingers clench at her skirt as she saw James' face. Quickly muttering a spell sending it at him, his bruises and cuts fading from his face.
"Thank you..."
"Don't worry about it... Look, you guys may have had a completely different experience with Snape than me, but he's a good guy," James and Sirius grumbled at her words, simultaneously rolling their eyes at her, leaving Remus to adjust his stance eyeing her attentively, "I'll make sure he stays off your back. As long as I'm here, he won't touch you or Lily ever again."
"What if he does? If that-grease ball lays a finger of Lily-"
"Prongs, just drop it. Can't you see, just her being here she was able to send Snape away without him throwing a single hex at us," Remus offered, his eyes flickering back and forth between the brunette and the dark haired wizard. He sighed deeply, running his fingers through his hair silently agreeing to what he was saying, "Do you like Snape, Diana?"
"No. We just... connect really well, he has a soft side that he doesn't show many, and I have a side of me where I don't show many either. Including you lot," She teased, rocking back and forth on her heels laughing at her jest making them chuckle lightly at the sound of her laughing, "Alright, well... it's about time where I go devour some chicken. I'll see you guys in a bit,"
"Bye, Diana!"
"Bye!"
"Don't forget to keep those lips warm for me, love!"
"Oh, sod off, Sirius. You wish you could kiss these lips."
April 10th, 1977. Hogsmeade. 10:47 am.
Diana couldn't ignore her cravings for sweets any longer, so she had informed Severus she would be going to Hogsmeade that morning. He didn't want to get out of bed, but he wished her well and off she went. Thankfully, she had began her term at Hogwarts and had made a several new friends which she was quite thankful for. Dumbledore had allowed the girl to sleep with the Slytherin boy on the days they didn't have school, so she happily remained in contact with her best friend. For that day she had decided to wear a pair of high waisted jeans that flared out wards the end, showing off her butt which she was quite proud of, a pair of hightop white converse resting on her feet. Diana had opted for a an emerald green sweater, tucked into the jeans along with a denim jacket thrown over the sweater considering it was quite cold out. For some odd reason, it had decided to snow in the middle of April, but she wasn't complaining it had been too long since she had played in the snow.
She hated hiding her curls, but she would rather have flat curls then a rats nest so she pulled the hood of her jacket over her head to help block out some of the wind. Along with her new clothes, she decided to wear a full face of makeup her dark brown eyes popping out even with her large glasses framing her face.
"Oi, Lopez!" Her head snapped toward the direction of her name being shouted, smiling to herself as she caught a glimpse of Sirius making her way over to her bringing her into a warm embrace, "What do you think you're doing walking to Hogsmeade all on your own? You've got us, remember?"
"Oh trust me, I tried to forget," He pulled away from the brunette, adjusting his grip on her before lifting her into his arms like she was a child. She practically screamed, clinging to his neck as he walked over to the laughing bunch of guys, a pout on her face as he set her back on the snow covered ground, "I'm not a doll, Sirius."
"Ooh, doll. I quite like that name for you. It's either that or honey bun. The list of nicknames just keeps on growing!"
"Definitely, doll." James chuckled, pushing his glasses further up the bridge of his nose eyeing the sulking 5'4 girl ruffling her curls laughing as she playfully swatted his hand away, "Fiesty too,"
"I will throw you in a garbage bin, Potter."
"Whatever you say, Lopez,"
They continued to tease her as they walked with her to Hogsmeade, pestering her over and over again as to why they never saw her in between classes and why she didn't like to sneak off into the Forbidden Forest. She thought the last one had a perfectly good reason, but they didn't accept it, well James and Sirius didn't. After several minutes of pestering they gave up, sadly, but they all lightened up once she offered to buy them all a round of butterbeers. Diana giggled at their childish actions, chasing after them as they began sprinting towards The Three Broomsticks with a skip in their step.
"Hi, I was wondering if I could buy these bozos all some butterbeer?" Diana asked the young lady at the pub, who smiled warmly at her. The energy in the pub always gave her positive vibes, which just seemed to spread to any person she came in contact with practically bouncing in her spot.
"You got an ID, darlin'?"
"Yes, right of course," She flushed pink, flashing her the same identification she had given her the previous times she had come with Severus or with a few others. Diana looked around the pub, coming face to face with a sandy haired boy her smile growing. His cheeks were tinted a slight pink, running his fingers through his hair nervously as he eyed her stuffing his thumbs into the pockets of his dark jeans. The werewolf had a gorgeous yellow sweater on, along with a black jacket over it. His legs were covered by a pair of black skinny jeans, that had some small rips on them nicely cuffed at the bottom his converse peaking through.
"Hi,"
"Hi, Rem," She mused leaning against the bar counter, a teasing glint in her eyes. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the other three Marauders goofing around their prominent laughter echoing throughout the whole room, "Did you want something, I have no problem getting you-"
"Oh no, of course not. I actually came here to let you know that James isn't letting you buy the drinks. Every time he walks into the pub, he gives a certain sign to the bartender letting them know to put any and all drinks coming from his table on his tab-"
"That little gremlin,"
"No need to get angry at him, love. He's absolutely loaded, he loves to spend money on his friends-"
"Well so do I. Just you watch," She hastily walked over to her table, noting that the laughter seemed to die down as she approached them. Her small hands grabbed a hold of James' sweater tugging his tall frame into a corner of the pub, scrambling to let go of him eyeing him up and down running her tongue across her teeth, "Potter,"
"W-what did I do? Is it because I'm paying-"
"No... but I had to make it seem that way so the boys would believe it," Diana kept her angry face, a small smirk tugging at her lips. James' back was to the boy so she could see them whispering to one another, looking over in their direction. The dark haired boy chuckled at her idea, signaling for her to go on, "I...I think that's as far as my plan went. There was probably more, but I'm blanking."
James rolled his eyes playfully at the blushing brunette, placing his arms on either side of her face forcing her to press her back against the wall swallowing thickly, "A little birdie told me they have a crush on you”
"O-on me?"
"Mhmm... If I play this well, he should be over here... any second," James whispered into the crook of her neck, sending shivers down her spine. He placed one of his free hands on her waist nearly breaking her in half as he pulled her against his firm body. Diana practically whimpered at the aggressiveness of his actions, feeling her breathing growing heavy, "You smell nice... is that honey?"
Diana giggle at his words, letting her head roll to the side as he pressed feather like kisses along her jaw, "Yes. It's my hair routine. My shampoo, conditioner and the leave in conditioner-"
Before she could utter any other words, she felt someone pull James away from her small frame a flustered expression on his face. She felt her heart swell as he shoved the snickering dark haired boy, tilting her head at the sandy haired boy who was looking at her with dark eyes. Remus grabbed a hold of her arm tugging her outside, the cold air slapping her exposed skin shivering almost instantly.
"You know James has a thing with Lily, right? Why in the world would you-"
"Rem... I don't like James. That little stunt we pulled was to get you to walk over there," His cheeks darkened significantly. The 6'3 tall guy stammered over his words, tugging at the hem of his thick sweater trying to come up with a reason for him storming over there. Diana grabbed a hold of his hands, the heat emitting from his large hands practically swallowed her smaller one, pulling the boy closer to her, "Don't get all shy on me, Lupin... I like you too."
"You do? The thing with Prongs... was that all fake?"
"100%" Diana giggled, letting her hands trail up his arms wrapping them around his neck having to stand on the tips of her feet. Remus eagerly wrapped his arms around her waist, tugging the small witch into his embrace feeling his heart begin to hammer at his sweater covered chest, lifting one hand up to cup her rosy cheeks.
"I don't think you understand how long I've waited to hear those words..."
"I can only imagine," She teased, a giggle escaping her glossy lips peering up at Remus through her glasses. He rolled his eyes choosing to make a bold move, leaning down to capture her lips into a soft kiss. She returned the kiss almost instantly, her fingers running through his sandy locks tugging at them as he deepened the kiss by running his tongue across her bottom lip. Her lips opened up to him instinctively, moaning into his intoxicating touch wanting more from the boy who was toying with her mouth. The burning sensation in her lungs was a sign of the little amount of air she had inhaled, parting from Remus resting her forehead on his eyeing his gorgeous blue eyes, "Woah..."
The Marauder blushed, letting his warm breath fan her face as he let out a chuckle. The second he opened his mouth to speak, the sound of hollering could be heard leaving the Pub turning their heads to face three giddy Marauders cheeky grins on their faces. Diana untangled herself from the Marauder, shoving her hands into her jacket shivering from the cold.
"And all it took was me kissing all up and down your girl's neck, Moony,"
"Don't even, Prongs. I will throw you in a bin-"
"Hey! That's my insult, get one of your own," Diana grumbled playfully, a pout on her swollen lips letting out a giggle as Remus walked behind her wrapping his toned arms around her waist tugging her into his chest. She sighed at the warmth coming from his body, letting her hands rest on top of his her head making itself comfortable on his shoulder. Sirius and James fake gagged, bent over dry heaving earning a kick in the shins by Diana who only managed to get James since Sirius had grown weary of her legs after she kneed him in his precious jewels. Peter just stood by and watched the encounter happen, snickering at James as he yelped from her aggressive kicks.
"Oi, why are your legs so strong?"
"It is strange how strong they are, isn't it? Considering her height-"
"Padfoot, I will gladly shove my foot up your ass."
"On the other hand. James stop being such a baby-" As they began bickering, she shook her head at them watching them begin to make their way to Honeydukes, forcing Remus to adjust his hold on Diana throwing his arm around her shoulder pressing a soft kiss to her temple. She wrapped her arm around his waist, her other hand holding onto the hand around her shoulders sighing happily. Peter had tried to chime in their argument, leading to the pair to start a fresh argument forcing Peter to join his cheeks growing increasingly more and more red.
Diana felt happy. She knew that this is where she should be at this exact moment, wrapped up with her new boyfriend, surrounding by some of her favorite people the morning sun shining down on them. Without even realizing it, the young witch had let go of any strings attached to her present, all memories of her friends and family had transformed into nothing more than a silly dream.
Those late nights studying with Neville, both of their lungs hurting from laughing so hard trying to stop themselves from waking up anyone in the Gryffindor Common Room. The kisses she had shared with the boy, both of their cheeks the shade of her favorite pink pajamas. All the inside jokes she had made with all of her fellow Hufflepuff peers, including Cedric Diggory, her best friend who passed away tragically. The smiles and loving hugs she had shared with The Golden Trio, the endless trouble they would get into without even having to ask for it. And most importantly, she didn't remember the faces and all the kisses her family would give her before sending her off to a school they trusted with their lives.
All these people would never get her back. They will spend the rest of their years wondering what happened to the Hufflepuff who always had a smile on her face, who never let her personal life affect her school life. The kindest girl to have walked the grounds at Hogwarts. A part of their heart remaining empty. No one managing to fill that void. How they would kill to get their hands on a time turner, just so they could turn back time and see her smile... one last time.
