January 3rd, 1994. The Hufflepuff Dormitories. 9:17am.
Penelope's hands hurriedly tried to flatten the heavy mass of curls resting on her flushed cheeks, having spent the last few months trying to hide them by a small potion she had created but she made a small mistake and had completely forgotten to bring some of the concoction back with her after the holidays. Eyeing her reflection in the mirror deciding to make her way downstairs to grab breakfast, making sure to take long strides to the Great Hall. Nervously walking into the hall with the frizzy curls bouncing around her face, running her ring cladded fingers through the tousled curls as the two familiar red heads made their way over to her with a cheeky grin on their faces. Penelope felt a grin making its way onto her face, slowing her movements down to make sure the twins didn't attempt anything on her, they walked over to her in almost perfect sync. Fred reached out ruffling her dark curls, letting out a whistle his brother following along, she smacked his hand away from her flustered face.
"Can it, Weasley."
"You look good, love." Fred chuckled, cheekily winking at her only making her already bright cheeks turn a shade darker, pushing past the tall redheads to make her way over to her green eyed boyfriend. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders her chest flush against his back, pressing her lips onto his freckled cheek. The blonde flushed a light pink, turning to face the curly haired girl cupping her face pulling her in for a soft kiss. All of the surrounding Gryffindors whistled and cheered for Neville, being the first time he initiated the first kiss unlike all the other times Penelope had done so. Pulling away from the boy smiling softly, turning towards her table nearly skipping over to her fellow Hufflepuffs, waving at Cedric sitting besides the tall dark haired boy. He leaned over to ruffle her curls as he offered the girl a warm bagel, who let out a soft smile at his actions.
February 18th, 1994. The Room of Requirement. 11:57pm.
Penelope thrust her wand rather harshly ignoring the small jolt of pain she felt in her shoulder blade, a stream of yellow lighting up the dark room making it's way over to her target sending Draco flying towards a mat. A grunt left his lips, standing up from his position on the floor his skin a light red from the blood rushing up to his pale face. She extended a hand out towards the white haired boy, his large pale hand grasping onto her letting her help him off of the mat muttering out a soft thanks. Patting his sweaty frame giving a wide grin, wiping the sweat off her face feeling rather worn out from the 3 hours of working out and helping Draco practice his dueling spells.
"Didn't know you knew wordless spells,"
"There's a lot you don't know about me. You're really good, Malfoy. I still don't know why you won't join the group." Penelope let out sincerely, setting her wand on the table next to the couch plopping down on spot besides Draco nudging him with her elbow. His features hardened, turning to face her his chest still heaving up and down from our intense session, swiping his tongue across his bottom lip.
"Potter is a part of that group, a leader nonetheless, I'd rather take orders from a ferret..."
"Is this your way of calling me a ferret, Malfoy?" Penelope grinned, feigning hurt turning towards the blonde whose face was sporting a light pink. He faced the dark haired girl an apologetic look etched on his features before relief washed over him as she let out a giggle, sending a playful glare at Penelope as she laughed even louder. Draco would never admit it but he considered Penelope to be one of his closest friends, as much as he wanted to think otherwise, the girl reached a part of him no one had reached before.
"You are cruel."
"You love it, Draco. Wanna head off now? It's almost midnight, " He agreed standing up from the comfortable couch, grasping the girls hand helping her onto her feet. She thanked him making her way over the dark oak door that appeared a few feet in front of her. Penelope waved her wand over Draco and herself letting their looming figures blend into their surrounding, opening the door slightly poking her head out to check for any lingering prefects. Jutting her hand out for Draco to take making their way down the cold corridor, the wind feeling nice on their sweating frames smiling softly as Draco shoved her shoulder playfully. Penelope smacked his shoulder leaning away from his touch making her way further down the hall, letting out a loud giggle as the blonde successfully wrapped his arms around her lifting her up into the air.
"You cheat," She stuck her tongue out waving her wand once again locking eyes with the reappearing pair of grey eyes, letting a smile creep its way up her face grinning wider as he gave her a smile back. Draco turned his head away from Penelope as blood rushed up to his cheeks, making his way to her common room the dark haired girl trailing beside him.
The moonlight streamed in from the windows showing off their giddy smiles, the sounds of laughter lingering in the evening. The pair of kids chased each other around making sure not to wake any of the sleeping picture frames, as much as they thought they had been quiet all he frames had woken up to the sounds of the girl laughing. All of the older wizards and witches looked over the abnormal pair, nearly fawning over the amount of happiness oozing from the pair as they came to a stop in front of the Hufflepuff common room quickly scurrying off to their portraits to not disturb them. A peaceful silence washed over Draco giving the girl a smile, letting his actions speak for him, bringing her into a large hug his chin resting atop of her curls. Penelope wrapped her arms around him, nuzzling into the crook of his neck the scent of his signature cologne and fresh pineapple filtered into her nostrils, tightening her grip on the tall boy.
"Thank you once again, for giving me a chance to be better. You are helping a lot more than I'm letting on, Davey"
"Thank you, Mal. That means a lot to me... I'll see you tomorrow okay? Same time. Don't be late," She pulled away from him, giving him a small wink patting him on the shoulder as she made her way into her common room. As the door shut behind her, she let out a small sigh waving her wand over herself muttering a spell to replace her uniform with a pair of pajamas making her way hurriedly to the dorm room. Draco made sure the girl had made her way into the room successfully before making his way down the hall, tucking his hands into his robe keeping a firm grip on his wand. The night had gone a lot better than the previous nights, he had managed to catch Penelope off guard and he had never felt so accomplished with himself. Draco only managed to get a couple feet before he had fallen to the ground his face slamming into the cold stone. Oh that is definitely going to bruise the blonde thought to himself, rubbing his cheek softly.
February 29th, 1994. The Hufflepuff Dormitories. 9:48am.
Penelope bit her bottom lip slightly, adjusting the length of her flower printed dress. The dress really showed off her curves coming to mid thigh flowing around her slightly, along with a brown purse displayed across her chest a pair of white shoes being the final touch to her outfit. Her curls framed her makeup covered face neatly, pushing the frame of her glasses further up her nose before hurriedly making her way down the stairs to meet her boyfriend in the Great Hall. Today was their anniversary, and they were planning on going to Hogsmeade and spending their evening there. The moment the curly haired girl had reached the Courtyard full of other students waiting for the clock to hit 10 so they could leave, she spotted her blonde haired boyfriend nearly running over to him.
"Neville!" At the mention of his name, he turned to face the direction of her voice the smile being wiped off his face entirely making her come to a stop. Neville's face flashed red, pushing his way through the crowd making his way as far away from the girl as possible stopping to meet to his friends a couple of ways from her. Her chest tightened the smile on her face falling, gripping onto her purse staring after the green eyed boy shifting her weight on the balls of her feet. Penelope brushed her curls away from her face looking around at all the familiar faces feeling a stinging sensation making its way to her eyes, blinking away the tears making her way out of the Great Hall but before she could get close to the entrance a hand wrapped around her small wrist. Her tear filled eyes locked with a familiar pair of grey ones, nearly bursting into tears but she only managed to let out a loud exhale. The sound of Filch's voice caught her attention, pulling away from the grey eyed boy making her way outside the hem of her dress fluttering around her thighs as she began making her way to the trail, trying to avoid the large groups of people. Draco practically had to sprint to catch up to the short witch, receiving odd looks from people around them. He came to her side, nudging her with his shoulder in an attempt to grab her attention.
"Petal... are you alright-"
"No. I can't even pretend that I am. Today is Neville and I's anniversary, and we were supposed to go to Hogsmeade together, but when I tried to greet him this morning he completely brushed me off. Did I do something wrong? Draco... I-I don't know maybe I'm overreacting-" Penelope's voice cracked feeling the warm tears run down her cheeks, wiping away at the tears rather hastily looking down at the floor. The blonde wrapped his arm around her letting her cry into his pitch black button up, rubbing small circles on her back holding her close to his chest. Her heavy breathing quieted down for a minute, clutching at his coat softly pulling away from him.
"Sorry about your shirt..."
"Petal, don't apologize. You are in no position to be apologizing. Would you like to spend this evening with me? I understand if you would want to go back inside, and I respect that-"
"I'd love to, Draco" The girl muttered out meekly, waving her wand at her face feeling her makeup become lighter and as crisp as she had done it in the morning. Draco took this chance to admire the small smile on her lips, jutting out his arm to the girl a grin making its way onto his face her arm looping with his leaning her head on his shoulder. He let her rest on him, feeling the morning breeze blow over their faces the scent of honey and cinnamon filling his nostrils as she nuzzled closer to him. The only sounds that surrounded the pair were the sounds of people chattering as they passed by them, and the loud laughter of the kids goofing around and trying to race each other to the gate.
May 26th, 1994. Hogsmeade. 11:29am
The cool evening air hit her rosy cheeks, her feet making her way out of the warm store full of enticing sweets. She let out a happy sigh, clutching her bag of treats closer to her side turning to face the grey eyed boy who had made his way over to her. Penelope flashed him a toothy smile, shoving him playfully making her way down the stone path. Her eyes scanned the pretty colors swirling with the pretty clouds, feeling herself relax as she watched the fluffy clouds float by. The curly haired girl was so entranced by the evening sky she hadn't noticed the large group of people making their way out of the Hog's Head pub. Before Draco could warn her, she had crashed into a group of 6 people sending her flying to the floor. A loud squeak left her lips, scrambling up from the floor her cheeks blazing red.
"Watch where you're going" At the harsh sound of a familiar voice, she turned to face Ginny who was helping Neville off the floor glaring at the small girl. Penelope clutched her bag of sweets, taking a step back eyeing her group of friends her heart physically breaking at the harsh looks they were giving her. She chewed on her bottom lip anxiously peering up at Draco whose face was stone hard and staring out at them, his hand buried in his pocket where his wand remained.
"I-I'm sorry."
"You have no reason to apologize. If you even think about laying a finger on her let alone look at her-"
"Draco it's okay. I'm sorry to bother, I'll see you guys later," At the sound of Draco's mouth starting to sputter more incoherent curse words at the group, she hastily grabbed onto his clothed arm and dragged him further away from the group. Her heavy breathing had quieted down significantly, subconsciously tightening her grip on Draco's sleeve leaning into his shoulder letting their quiet footsteps be the only sound in the woods.
"Is everything alright?" He murmured, letting his voice drift across the evening air looking down at the brunette beneath him. She nodded softly, letting her free hand grab a hold of the fence in front of her scanning the beautiful colors streaking the sky. It had only been 2 months since Neville and her had broken up, and she was rather conflicted on her feelings. She was heartbroken about her breakup but after spending so much time with the boy beside her she began wondering if she had started growing feelings for him. Penelope picked at the paint chipping off the fence, her heart beat racing trying to think of a way to ask the tall boy next to her a rather complicated question.
"Draco? C-can I try something?"
"Of course," At the mere murmur of his words she turned to face the blonde, cupping his chiseled cheeks and pressing her plump lips against his. His lips parted instantly, his body stilling as a million thoughts coursed through his mind. Draco's eyes fluttered shut reciprocating the motions of their lips moving together, tentatively wrapping his arms around her waist. The pair remained in their state of bliss for a moment, letting the bright colors light up the sky in front of them as they become one with one another.
That kiss had answered all of her questions. Those kisses she had shared with the green eyed boy felt so bland compared the blonde whose arms were holding onto her tightly. This kiss felt like an atomic bomb unlike the small fluttering in her stomach she usually felt after kissing Neville.
“W-what was that?”
“A kiss-”
“Penelope,” Draco breathed out keeping her a couple inches from his as he searched her eyes for an answer, trying not to get his hopes up. She sighed clamping her eyes shut as she felt her nerves overwhelm her.
“I like you. A lot more than I thought I originally did... I-I get it if you don’t feel the same way. I just had to get that off my chest,”
“Are you blind, Davey”
“A little,” Penelope mumbled playfully motioning towards the glasses framing her face, to which Draco chuckled at leaning in to rest his forehead against her, “why do you ask?”
“I figured you of all people would have noticed that I have had the biggest crush on you ever since I bumped into you and Potter at Diagon Alley. But, I never pulled a move because that’s not the kind of man I am. Now that you are no longer taken, and I know for a fact you won’t reject me.... would you like to go on a date with me, Penelope David?” Penelope felt a grin creeping onto her face nodding her head rather eagerly to the blonde, bringing the boy into a kiss, melting into his touch as he gripped her hips pulling her close. They stood there swaying back and forth as the spring wind blew through their hair, enjoying the peaceful silence as they finally had everything out in the open.

January 5th, 1977. The Slytherin Dorms. 7:38 am.
Small slivers of a deep green light glittered on the wall, piercing through the window in the room making a certain curly haired girl groan, the light hitting her closed eyes rather harshly. Sleepily sitting up, stretching softly letting out small sounds of appreciation as she felt her back crack.
Diana swung her bare legs over the edge of the bed letting her sock covered feet touch the stone floor, making her way over to the window eyeing the rays of light streaming through the water a smile tugging on my lips. The young girl made herself comfortable on a small ledge that she had grown to love, bringing her knees up to her chest. Resting her hands on the ledge of the window closing her eyes softly, basking in the warmth of the sunlight caressing her skin. Ever since she had arrived, her memories of her present had grown increasingly fuzzy. If she tried hard enough, she could remember the faces of a few of her best friends but besides that she could hardly remember anything.
"Morning" A husky voice whispered, snapping her out of her day dream twisting her head to lock eyes with Severus. His head was slumped against his pillow, staring up at her making her smile grow wider at how adorable he looked hurrying over to him stopping herself from jumping on his bed. He rolled his eyes, lifting his comforter knowing this scheme from when Lily tried to always cuddle, she was always cold, but knowing he would never want to.
He had only known his girl for a couple weeks after spending most of his time with her in his dorm. Dumbledore had sent meals up to her so the other kids wouldn't be suspicious of the dainty Hufflepuff in the Slytherin Dormitories. It was now the first day of classes since the holidays, she had been here for three weeks, a couple days before the holidays had started, but he had managed to grow surprisingly close to her after being so shut off from the rest of the world for so long.
Nuzzling her way underneath the covers, wrapping her arms around his bare waist, having grown accustomed to him being shirtless with her as she made him feel incredibly safe. He wrapped his arms around her, inhaling the sweet scent of honey her hair always seemed to give off enjoying her soft touches. Rubbing her thumbs subconsciously on his milky skin, pulling him closer against her small frame intertwining their legs together.
A knock on the door broke them out of that trance, feeling his muscles tense up underneath her hands. He sighed deeply pulling away from her hurriedly pulling on a jumper, she stood up hurrying into a corner whispering incantations over her looking down at her toes seeing she blended perfectly into the floor underneath her.
"Who is it?"
"Regulus... did you forget that I was supposed to be coming by for that potion?" A raspy voice murmured, opening the door to Severus' room, a tall guy with long dark hair stood in the room eyeing the room his features blank of any emotion. Diana immediately knew she recognized this guy, she tried to figure out how she recognized him knowing she hadn't left the room in a quite of bit of time. Her hand held onto her wand tightly eyeing the two boys in front her, her heart hammering at her chest. What kind of water are these guys drinking, holy hell, every single guy I've seen looks like they came right out of a magazine.
"Right..." Severus mumbled, briskly walking over to his dresser shuffling through all his belongings a sense of urgency in his movements, his bottom lip trapped in between his teeth. The sound of papers and journals shuffling filled the room before it stopped all together, his delicate fingers wrapped around a vial of a deep violet substance, the mop of dark hair stalked forward his eyes wide in amusement. Severus pursed his lips a hardened look on his face, an expectant look on his face as he eyed Regulus, the dark haired bloke huffed angrily pulling out a bag that practically sagged from the amount of coins inside setting them into his hand. Diana's eyebrows furrowed, eyeing the two seeing the contrast between the two Slytherins. Severus had a dark aura around him, even his features were deemed dark, while Regulus had a more light aurora. They both had this authority that oozed out of them both, but out of the two of them it was instantly noticeable who was in charge.
"Are you positive this will-"
"Are you questioning my abilities...Black?" Severus sneered his eyes darkening, his grip on the bottle tightening stuffing the coins into his pocket. Regulus' mouth closed rather quickly a glare set on his face, placing his hand out for Severus to place the bottle in his hand which he did gladly, waving his wand sending the awkwardly proportioned boy stumbling out of his room, the door shutting behind him. Sighing deeply his eyes looking around the room, a smirk tugging at his plush lips swishing his wand rather secretively. A loud laugh left her mouth as she was sent tumbling into his arms, her body fading back to normal making him smile warmly.
"I have classes soon. You will most likely be left by yourself until everyone heads to their first class. Try to be as inconspicuous as possible until then... alright?" He spoke softly, rubbing her arms soothingly a sad frown making its way onto his face. Tugging at his dark jumper pulling him closer, nuzzling into his warmth sighing rather happily. His arms wrapped around her tiny frame, setting his head into the crook of her neck a place he'd truly come to appreciate.
"Go get dressed, Sev. I'll get dressed out here, then I'll go and explore for a bit after I take a nap. But don't worry, I'll be here by the time you come back," Nodding against her soft hair, thumbs brushing the exposed skin of her shoulders pulling away from her walking over to his dresser. Waving his wand his clothes coming to him rather quickly, folding themselves neatly at the foot of his bed. Grabbing the materials opening the bathroom door, shutting it behind him softly. After Diana had gotten dressed, she pulled James' sweater over her head nuzzling into the familiar article of clothing, having worn it quite a bit since she had no other article of clothes asides from her uniform. Her fingers fiddling with the maroon fabric seeing as it matched very nicely with her skin tone, and the pastel yellow nail polish on her fingernails.
"You okay?"
"Yea! I'm fine, just gonna miss you s'all" Diana flushed red as she confessed that out loud, looking at Severus from the corner of her eye seeing his cheeks with a splash of pink on them. He cleared his throat distracting himself by placing all his homework and books into his satchel, tucking his wand into his pocket. Walking over to the door placing a gentle hand on the knob, turning back to the blushing girl sending her a warm smile making his way out of the room.
The loud ticking sounds coming from the clock seemed to have grown louder as the time passed by, rather slowly might she add, Diana's patience wearing thin. Letting out a sigh for what seemed like the 1,000th time looking at the clock, jumping up excitedly as she saw it had passed a little over 3 o'clock meaning she would be able to go outside since there was a low chance of any kids wandering the halls.
"Excuse me? Have you seen a tall guy with- hey... It's you!" She froze turning around hastily seeing the pair of blue eyes she had seen a couple weeks ago, looking down at her. A smile made its way onto her face waving at him, peering behind him as I saw the boy with the sandy hair jogging over to them. Diana waved warmly opening her mouth to say something to Remus before being smothered into the Chaser's chest, the familiar scent the sweater once gave engulfed her, rather than smelling so strongly of pineapples it smelt of mangos. She inhaled the intoxicating scent wrapping her arms around his firm torso, giggling as he swayed her side to side. A loud cough interrupted them, pulling away hastily watching the sandy haired boy eye the two of them teasingly.
"Hey Remus! You look a lot better since I last saw you, you doin' alright?" She asked, running her fingers through her curls seeing the boy grin rather wolfishly fiddling with the hem of his grey sweater. James snickered, patting his shoulder rather roughly before something caught his attention. The maroon sweater adorning the body of the bubbly, curly haired girl in front of him was...his. He remembered the day he had given the sweater to Lily after a day at Hogsmeade, that winter night happened to be the one time she had forgotten her winter coat so he lend her his Quidditch Captain sweater. A pang of hurt filled his chest as he now saw it adorning another girls body, thoughts racing through his head.
"W-where'd you get this?" James questioned, trying to play it off casually but both Remus and Diana weren't stupid and knew that he was hurt. She bit her bottom lip, searching through her head for an answer that didn't give her away playing with the hem of the sweater seeing the sleeves go past her hands. Diana felt herself swaying on the balls of her feet, peering up at the two talls guys who looked down at her expectantly.
"Well, after I chased after Severus a couple weeks ago. He took me to his room, so I could sleep somewhere because I couldn't be let into the Hufflpuff's Common Room for some odd reason. When I went to get dressed for bed, I had realized that I had nothing to change into so I asked him if he had anything that I could change into for the night, and he pulled out this sweater. He said something about Lily leaving it in his room one day, and just never came back for it so he let me use it. And so I've been wearing it quite a lot. But I can give it back if you'd like" He shook his head, his features relaxing at the knowledge that she didn't toss it away. But after a short couple moments his features hardened once again, peering up at her squinting from the harsh sun hitting his bright, blue eyes.
"You had to spend your Christmas break with Snivellus? I'm sorry, doll. Why didn't you come find us sooner, we would of gladly let you sleep with us." The tone of his voice was full of disgust, and it confused her. Snivellus? Was he talking about Snape? The girl hastily began to tug the maroon sweater over her head, fixing her uniform underneath placing the warm fabric into his hands a soft smile on her face. His eyebrows furrowing clutching the fabric tightly, about to hand it back before she shushed him softly.
"You can have it back... and I would appreciate it if you didn't insult Severus in front of me. I don't know what you guys may have had in the past, but if it's about Lily, I can assure you he won't be bothering-"
"That's where you're wrong, doll. Severus is in love with Lily, always will be. You may think he likes you and all but he's a stubborn git. He has never been capable of loving anyone except for her, but she doesn't want him. She's with me," Hurt pang throughout her body, eyes stinging as the familiar warm sensation of tears making their way to her eyes.
"I don't like, Severus. He's an incredibly good friend, a good person at that, one of the closest ones I've had in a long time. So don't you dare and try to put words into my mouth, Potter," James' face softened an apologetic look flashed on his features, trying to hold onto her hands but he was too late. The girl had turned on her heel and was briskly walking away, her robes and curls flowing with the wind.
January 5th, 1977. Outside The Quidditch Pitch. 5:19 pm.
Diana's hands hurt from digging up all the jagged rocks and chucking them as far as they could go, rather angrily plopping down on a soft spot in the grass. It had been a couple hours since James had stated that Severus was still madly in love with Lily, but the hurt of knowing she might not mean something to him like he meant to her was still there. After their whole month together, she expected that he had at least felt their friendship to be quite special considering they had been incredibly close to one another. Which sounded quite silly to her now, considering Severus has know Lily for many years. The cool air helped relax her flustered state, letting her eyes flutter shut, leaves rustling above her.
"It's weird seeing you without your wand," The sound of someone whispering into her ear made her jump, nearly falling over in the grass clutching at her chest, glaring at the shaggy haired boy who just grinned cheesily at her.
"You arse, I felt my heart fall out of my mouth."
"Sorry, love." The calming silence that followed after made him eye the girl, who was staring out at the open space her hands fiddling with the hem of her skirt. He let out a small breath, inching his way over to her nuding his arm against her, "You alright?"
"James told me that Severus didn't have room in his 'little to non existent' heart for anyone other than Lily and the Dark Arts. I suppose it's fair considering we've only known each other for a quarter of the time they knew one another; stupid, I know but... I'm just-," Her voice quivered, covering her face with her hands feeling the warm tears falling down her cheeks. Soft cries emitted from her lips, hurriedly wiping away the tears angrily. Sirius leaned closer to the girl, wrapping his arm around her shoulder holding her close to his chest. Tiny hands grasping his uniform wet streaks making their way through his uniform, tightening his hold on the crying girl his hatred for the greasy haired fool increasingly growing.
"Love... it's alright. You can stay with me if you'd like. James can sleep on the floor, like the ole deer that he is," A giggle left her lips at the pun, looking up at him staring into his baby blue eyes. His face lit up, feeling better to know he was able to make her smile hugging her once again but pulling away abruptly as a herd of footsteps made their way over to them. Sirius stood up, his wand at the ready staring at the figures standing before them. James, Remus and Peter looked worried, but once they saw the two of them standing before them they relaxed. James ran a hand through his wild hair, pushing his glasses further up the bridge of his nose.
"Severus thinks we're hiding you which is bloody insulting but it's whatever. He's absolutely pissed. I would stay out of his way, Padfoot. Come on, Diana... we need to get you to Severus before he throws a-" Before the black haired boy could grab a hold of the short girl, he was hit by a spell feeling himself thrown backwards. His body slammed into a tree, his friends pulling out their wands anger evident on all of their faces. Severus had a murderous look in his eye, shooting strings of spells at the Marauders while Diana looked at them with an immense fear deep inside. Running over to James, wiping a trickle of blood off his cheek his face scrunched up in pain. His fingers held onto her hands as she helped him up, a burning rage flickering inside of him drawing his wand out. Before she could stop him, James had Severus up in the air with his wand thrown across the plush grass.
"James!"
"Stay out of it, Diane, he deserves it! All these years of chasing after my girl, and I never was able to do anything. Let me at him-" The moment those words left his mouth, they stopped as he was throw to the side muttering out a loud yelp as he landed on the dirt. Diana quickly helped Severus down, relief washing over her letting her feet take her over to the dark haired wizard, wrapping her arms around the tall lanky boy. She heard his heart hammering loudly against her cheek, his hands gripping her tightly.
"Severus, everything's okay. I wanted to have a moment by myself. I should have told you beforehand, but the guys had nothing to do with this. I promise..." Diana whispered against him, feeling his body relax against her feeling him let out a large sigh. She turned to face her friends giving them a soft smile, looking up at Severus whose pale face was flushed red with anger, "I'll meet you in your dorm, and we can go to Great Hall afterwards, alright?" He reluctantly nodded pressing his forehead against hers, briskly walking away from the group. Diana turned to face the marauders who were all standing rather awkwardly, feeling her fingers clench at her skirt as she saw James' face. Quickly muttering a spell sending it at him, his bruises and cuts fading from his face.
"Thank you..."
"Don't worry about it... Look, you guys may have had a completely different experience with Snape than me, but he's a good guy," James and Sirius grumbled at her words, simultaneously rolling their eyes at her, leaving Remus to adjust his stance eyeing her attentively, "I'll make sure he stays off your back. As long as I'm here, he won't touch you or Lily ever again."
"What if he does? If that-grease ball lays a finger of Lily-"
"Prongs, just drop it. Can't you see, just her being here she was able to send Snape away without him throwing a single hex at us," Remus offered, his eyes flickering back and forth between the brunette and the dark haired wizard. He sighed deeply, running his fingers through his hair silently agreeing to what he was saying, "Do you like Snape, Diana?"
"No. We just... connect really well, he has a soft side that he doesn't show many, and I have a side of me where I don't show many either. Including you lot," She teased, rocking back and forth on her heels laughing at her jest making them chuckle lightly at the sound of her laughing, "Alright, well... it's about time where I go devour some chicken. I'll see you guys in a bit,"
"Bye, Diana!"
"Bye!"
"Don't forget to keep those lips warm for me, love!"
"Oh, sod off, Sirius. You wish you could kiss these lips."
April 10th, 1977. Hogsmeade. 10:47 am.
Diana couldn't ignore her cravings for sweets any longer, so she had informed Severus she would be going to Hogsmeade that morning. He didn't want to get out of bed, but he wished her well and off she went. Thankfully, she had began her term at Hogwarts and had made a several new friends which she was quite thankful for. Dumbledore had allowed the girl to sleep with the Slytherin boy on the days they didn't have school, so she happily remained in contact with her best friend. For that day she had decided to wear a pair of high waisted jeans that flared out wards the end, showing off her butt which she was quite proud of, a pair of hightop white converse resting on her feet. Diana had opted for a an emerald green sweater, tucked into the jeans along with a denim jacket thrown over the sweater considering it was quite cold out. For some odd reason, it had decided to snow in the middle of April, but she wasn't complaining it had been too long since she had played in the snow.
She hated hiding her curls, but she would rather have flat curls then a rats nest so she pulled the hood of her jacket over her head to help block out some of the wind. Along with her new clothes, she decided to wear a full face of makeup her dark brown eyes popping out even with her large glasses framing her face.
"Oi, Lopez!" Her head snapped toward the direction of her name being shouted, smiling to herself as she caught a glimpse of Sirius making her way over to her bringing her into a warm embrace, "What do you think you're doing walking to Hogsmeade all on your own? You've got us, remember?"
"Oh trust me, I tried to forget," He pulled away from the brunette, adjusting his grip on her before lifting her into his arms like she was a child. She practically screamed, clinging to his neck as he walked over to the laughing bunch of guys, a pout on her face as he set her back on the snow covered ground, "I'm not a doll, Sirius."
"Ooh, doll. I quite like that name for you. It's either that or honey bun. The list of nicknames just keeps on growing!"
"Definitely, doll." James chuckled, pushing his glasses further up the bridge of his nose eyeing the sulking 5'4 girl ruffling her curls laughing as she playfully swatted his hand away, "Fiesty too,"
"I will throw you in a garbage bin, Potter."
"Whatever you say, Lopez,"
They continued to tease her as they walked with her to Hogsmeade, pestering her over and over again as to why they never saw her in between classes and why she didn't like to sneak off into the Forbidden Forest. She thought the last one had a perfectly good reason, but they didn't accept it, well James and Sirius didn't. After several minutes of pestering they gave up, sadly, but they all lightened up once she offered to buy them all a round of butterbeers. Diana giggled at their childish actions, chasing after them as they began sprinting towards The Three Broomsticks with a skip in their step.
"Hi, I was wondering if I could buy these bozos all some butterbeer?" Diana asked the young lady at the pub, who smiled warmly at her. The energy in the pub always gave her positive vibes, which just seemed to spread to any person she came in contact with practically bouncing in her spot.
"You got an ID, darlin'?"
"Yes, right of course," She flushed pink, flashing her the same identification she had given her the previous times she had come with Severus or with a few others. Diana looked around the pub, coming face to face with a sandy haired boy her smile growing. His cheeks were tinted a slight pink, running his fingers through his hair nervously as he eyed her stuffing his thumbs into the pockets of his dark jeans. The werewolf had a gorgeous yellow sweater on, along with a black jacket over it. His legs were covered by a pair of black skinny jeans, that had some small rips on them nicely cuffed at the bottom his converse peaking through.
"Hi,"
"Hi, Rem," She mused leaning against the bar counter, a teasing glint in her eyes. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the other three Marauders goofing around their prominent laughter echoing throughout the whole room, "Did you want something, I have no problem getting you-"
"Oh no, of course not. I actually came here to let you know that James isn't letting you buy the drinks. Every time he walks into the pub, he gives a certain sign to the bartender letting them know to put any and all drinks coming from his table on his tab-"
"That little gremlin,"
"No need to get angry at him, love. He's absolutely loaded, he loves to spend money on his friends-"
"Well so do I. Just you watch," She hastily walked over to her table, noting that the laughter seemed to die down as she approached them. Her small hands grabbed a hold of James' sweater tugging his tall frame into a corner of the pub, scrambling to let go of him eyeing him up and down running her tongue across her teeth, "Potter,"
"W-what did I do? Is it because I'm paying-"
"No... but I had to make it seem that way so the boys would believe it," Diana kept her angry face, a small smirk tugging at her lips. James' back was to the boy so she could see them whispering to one another, looking over in their direction. The dark haired boy chuckled at her idea, signaling for her to go on, "I...I think that's as far as my plan went. There was probably more, but I'm blanking."
James rolled his eyes playfully at the blushing brunette, placing his arms on either side of her face forcing her to press her back against the wall swallowing thickly, "A little birdie told me they have a crush on you”
"O-on me?"
"Mhmm... If I play this well, he should be over here... any second," James whispered into the crook of her neck, sending shivers down her spine. He placed one of his free hands on her waist nearly breaking her in half as he pulled her against his firm body. Diana practically whimpered at the aggressiveness of his actions, feeling her breathing growing heavy, "You smell nice... is that honey?"
Diana giggle at his words, letting her head roll to the side as he pressed feather like kisses along her jaw, "Yes. It's my hair routine. My shampoo, conditioner and the leave in conditioner-"
Before she could utter any other words, she felt someone pull James away from her small frame a flustered expression on his face. She felt her heart swell as he shoved the snickering dark haired boy, tilting her head at the sandy haired boy who was looking at her with dark eyes. Remus grabbed a hold of her arm tugging her outside, the cold air slapping her exposed skin shivering almost instantly.
"You know James has a thing with Lily, right? Why in the world would you-"
"Rem... I don't like James. That little stunt we pulled was to get you to walk over there," His cheeks darkened significantly. The 6'3 tall guy stammered over his words, tugging at the hem of his thick sweater trying to come up with a reason for him storming over there. Diana grabbed a hold of his hands, the heat emitting from his large hands practically swallowed her smaller one, pulling the boy closer to her, "Don't get all shy on me, Lupin... I like you too."
"You do? The thing with Prongs... was that all fake?"
"100%" Diana giggled, letting her hands trail up his arms wrapping them around his neck having to stand on the tips of her feet. Remus eagerly wrapped his arms around her waist, tugging the small witch into his embrace feeling his heart begin to hammer at his sweater covered chest, lifting one hand up to cup her rosy cheeks.
"I don't think you understand how long I've waited to hear those words..."
"I can only imagine," She teased, a giggle escaping her glossy lips peering up at Remus through her glasses. He rolled his eyes choosing to make a bold move, leaning down to capture her lips into a soft kiss. She returned the kiss almost instantly, her fingers running through his sandy locks tugging at them as he deepened the kiss by running his tongue across her bottom lip. Her lips opened up to him instinctively, moaning into his intoxicating touch wanting more from the boy who was toying with her mouth. The burning sensation in her lungs was a sign of the little amount of air she had inhaled, parting from Remus resting her forehead on his eyeing his gorgeous blue eyes, "Woah..."
The Marauder blushed, letting his warm breath fan her face as he let out a chuckle. The second he opened his mouth to speak, the sound of hollering could be heard leaving the Pub turning their heads to face three giddy Marauders cheeky grins on their faces. Diana untangled herself from the Marauder, shoving her hands into her jacket shivering from the cold.
"And all it took was me kissing all up and down your girl's neck, Moony,"
"Don't even, Prongs. I will throw you in a bin-"
"Hey! That's my insult, get one of your own," Diana grumbled playfully, a pout on her swollen lips letting out a giggle as Remus walked behind her wrapping his toned arms around her waist tugging her into his chest. She sighed at the warmth coming from his body, letting her hands rest on top of his her head making itself comfortable on his shoulder. Sirius and James fake gagged, bent over dry heaving earning a kick in the shins by Diana who only managed to get James since Sirius had grown weary of her legs after she kneed him in his precious jewels. Peter just stood by and watched the encounter happen, snickering at James as he yelped from her aggressive kicks.
"Oi, why are your legs so strong?"
"It is strange how strong they are, isn't it? Considering her height-"
"Padfoot, I will gladly shove my foot up your ass."
"On the other hand. James stop being such a baby-" As they began bickering, she shook her head at them watching them begin to make their way to Honeydukes, forcing Remus to adjust his hold on Diana throwing his arm around her shoulder pressing a soft kiss to her temple. She wrapped her arm around his waist, her other hand holding onto the hand around her shoulders sighing happily. Peter had tried to chime in their argument, leading to the pair to start a fresh argument forcing Peter to join his cheeks growing increasingly more and more red.
Diana felt happy. She knew that this is where she should be at this exact moment, wrapped up with her new boyfriend, surrounding by some of her favorite people the morning sun shining down on them. Without even realizing it, the young witch had let go of any strings attached to her present, all memories of her friends and family had transformed into nothing more than a silly dream.
Those late nights studying with Neville, both of their lungs hurting from laughing so hard trying to stop themselves from waking up anyone in the Gryffindor Common Room. The kisses she had shared with the boy, both of their cheeks the shade of her favorite pink pajamas. All the inside jokes she had made with all of her fellow Hufflepuff peers, including Cedric Diggory, her best friend who passed away tragically. The smiles and loving hugs she had shared with The Golden Trio, the endless trouble they would get into without even having to ask for it. And most importantly, she didn't remember the faces and all the kisses her family would give her before sending her off to a school they trusted with their lives.
All these people would never get her back. They will spend the rest of their years wondering what happened to the Hufflepuff who always had a smile on her face, who never let her personal life affect her school life. The kindest girl to have walked the grounds at Hogwarts. A part of their heart remaining empty. No one managing to fill that void. How they would kill to get their hands on a time turner, just so they could turn back time and see her smile... one last time.

Writer's block moment:
I can't, for the life of me, figure out what to write for a Neville x reader I've been wanting to do. Requests/asks are open if anyone would like to send one for another fandom I have on my pinned post. Maybe it'll help my writer's block a bit.
Neville longbottom x misunderstood slytherin girl who everyone thinks is bad and is going to like, betray him but she genuinely loves him🥺 anything from fluff to smut is fine🙈 thanks so much and sorry if you dont wanna or if this doesnt help your lack of inspo for neville fics❤️
It's cool, anon. Thank you for the ask 😄 the idea was interesting to write.
Genuine (Neville x Slytherin!F!reader)
Trigger Warnings: fluff; some of the Gryffindor's being rude; light swearing
A/N: sorry for it taking a little long to write. Had to rewrite different parts a few times. I also forgot to proofread so there may be a mistake or two somewhere. Added in a random oc Hufflepuff to keep Y/N company.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Why and how Neville ended up with a girlfriend from Slytherin has astounded every one of his friends. Y/N Y/L/N wasn't much for hanging out with her fellow housemates. That didn’t stop any of the Gryffindor's whispering things about her though. Always thinking she'd crush Neville's heart eventually or that saying yes when Neville asked her out was secretly some kind of poor joke. Neither let on that they minded, but Y/N always worried what he thought about it.
With their one year anniversary coming, Neville and Y/N started to plan how they might want to celebrate. Neville was sitting outside in the courtyard with Seamus and Dean enjoying the weather before lunch. Y/N had been looking for Neville a good 20 minutes by the time she finally did. The other two Gryffindor boys weren't to pleased to see her coming.
"I thought I might find you enjoying nature. Surprised it's out here in the courtyard vs one of the Greenhouses, but certainly something I love about you," she giggled watching Neville's face turn red.
"Hey, Neville, don't you think we should head back to the dorms?" Dean suggested.
Neville looked at Dean and Seamus, about to say something before being awkwardly tugged away from where his girlfriend was standing. "Guess I'll see you in potions then," Neville hollered to her, earning a smile and wave in response.
Back at the Gryffindor Common Room..............
"What the heck was that for?" Neville huffed. "And don't say that it's because you don't like Y/N."
Neither Dean nor Seamus said a word. A few moments passed before one of them decided to speak. "We know how much you love her, mate, but -."
Neville groaned, "Honestly guys, she's not going to backstab me, alright? If she was, wouldn't she have done it already?"
Meanwhile in the courtyard..................
"Y/N!" Stephanie hollered. "You get a chance to talk to Neville?"
Y/N sighed, "His friends rushed him off to Gryffindor tower before I could get a chance to have an actual conversation with him."
"Can't believe I'm saying this, but they're idiots. Absolute idiots. Thankfully I have two hours of History of Magic with Gryffindor's after lunch, so I might be able to help," she looked at Y/N with a grin.
"Thanks, but I'll about it," she replied as they hugged.

The End
(I wasn't sure what kind of ending I wanted to write, so I went with one that kind of on the open-ended side.)
Neville Longbottom x gn!Hufflepuff!reader
Trigger Warnings: fluff; Draco being kinda rude (?)
A/N: I literally had absolutely no idea what to title this or what to write about.

Neville and Y/N have been friends since the train ride first year.
Although Y/N ended up in Hufflepuff, they love being friends with Neville.
Third year rolled around and Neville starts to have a crush on Y/N.
They don't quite notice Neville becoming awkward around them, but they've caught him blushing from time to time.
The day all his friends have their suspicions confirmed about his crush on Y/N is when Draco happens to be picking on them about something.
He stood up for them. Y/N has stood up for themselves against Draco dozens of times. Neville just happened to take it upon himself to have Y/N's back.
Each of his friends would pester him now and again after that.
When the Yule Ball was coming up in 4th year, Neville was too shy to ask Y/N and ended up arriving with Ginny.
Ginny kinda knew that Neville would've taken Y/N if he had the courage, so after the dancing, she nudged him into talking with Y/N.
He comforted them after what happened to Cedric.
The two of them partnered up during DA meetings. Y/N's patronus wound its way around Neville before fluttering around the room.
Their first kiss was awkward.
They were both in one of the Greenhouses, working on a Herbology project.
It had been a few weeks since the plant Neville chose for his project had shown any difference. Sure it had been growing as any plant should, but that was about all.
Out of the glimpse of their eye, Y/N looked from their plant to his, noticing that the plant was beginning to slowly but surely blossom. That was when he kissed them out of excitement. He began to apologize, but they kissed his cheek.
During their time at Hogwarts leading up to the battle, they stuck together. Even when the Battle of Hogwarts was under way.
Later on, Y/N and Neville bought a cozy flat together. The place had a little balcony outside they kept some flowers in.
The End

I wasn't completely sure where I was going with this, but I managed to get somewhere. Hope it's ok.
Wish I Didn't Love You- Neville Longbottom
Neville Longbottom
Seventh Year at Hogwarts
I have never run as fast and desperately in my life as I am doing right now. Even with the pain spreading throughout my body, the only thing I can think about is not being caught. My feet directed me on their own, knowing perfectly well the path they should take. Alecto Carrow had stopped hot on my heels thanks to the Locomotor Mortis I had recently thrown at him. However, that wouldn't last for long. I take the last curve towards my final destination and my mind repeats over and over again what I needed to appear at this moment. Just when I reach the wall for which I had run so much, a door appears in front of my eyes and without thinking twice I enter it. Instantly, I feel all eyes on me and even when I try to get the words out of my mouth, it is almost impossible due to uncontrolled breathing.
– What are you doing standing there? Help her! — Seamus moves through the mass of students, hurriedly approaching me while he takes a quick look at me.
— Have they followed you here? Did anyone see you enter? —
—No—I manage to say between breaths—I gott rid of Alecto on the way. He won't make it this far. —
—Good. — Seamus' frown deepened as he took in my appearance. I could still feel the intense pounding on my bleeding nose, but nothing compared to the pain in my left arm. — Wake Neville up , he needs to know what happened. —
Padma Patil instantly darts toward one of the hammocks seeking out Neville, while Seamus holds me firmly by the waist and with Colin's help we head towards one of the available chairs. Colin wastes no time and begins to examine me more exhaustively, noticing the multiple blows spread across my body and the arm that made it impossible for me to move.
—We'll need a bone-growing potion for this...— He hurriedly walks to the other side of the Room of Requirement, being swiftly replaced with a familiar face. —
— (Y/N) — Neville kneels before me, cupping my face in his hands and his expression etched with concern. —What the hell happened? —
—Alecto.— I limit my words to that as Colin had returned with a bottle in his hand. —
—Her arm is broken— He comments to Neville as he sits next to me.—This is what we have left of the Skele-Gro.—It may not be enough to completely repair the damage, but it will help at least. We can heal the nose easily. (Y/N), I know this will hurt but it's necessary, okay? —
—Do what you have to do...— I responded, my voice trembling due to the pain. Neville, sensing my distress, settles beside me, clasping my hand gently, offering a reassuring squeeze. He signals Colin to continue, who seconds after whispers 'Episkey', causing my nose to return to its original state with a small 'crack'. I let out a painful moan when I feel that sensation and I squeeze Neville's hand harder. He begins to gently rub my back while he rests his chin on my head. —
— Here you go — Seamus hands me the Skele-Gro. — it will take some time to do its effect so once you drink it you should lie down. Maybe it will help you with the pain. —
I nod listening to his words and without thinking too much I down the liquid in a single movement. The disgusting taste takes over all my senses and I grimace, handing the bottle to Colin before leaning back against Neville, closing my eyes. The boys leave giving me space and a few minutes later the pain I felt in my arm multiplies four times more, causing me to make multiple complaints of pain and some rebellious tears to escape from my eyes. Neville doesn't leave my side for a second and whispers in my ear that the pain would pass soon and I would be fine. A few minutes later I start to feel a little better and he gets up looking for a piece of cloth that he tears and ties to his liking to put around my arm so that I have some kind of support. The next few minutes were spent in silence allowing my body to get a little used to the pain to the point where I could breathe somewhat normally again.
—How... How did he do this to you? — Neville whispers after a while, causing me to come out of my little trance. —
—I was leaving the library when Alecto saw me. — I sigh, brushing the hair away from my face with the hand that was still healthy — He stopped me and began to question me about where you were hiding. I told him I knew absolutely nothing and he stressed to me over and over again how close you and I were... He couldn't get any information out of me so he decided it was time to take me to the dungeons. Anyway, I escaped before he could do anything else. That's when he started following me and along the way he managed to attack me a couple of times. On one of those times I fell down the stairs and ended up with this.— I point to my nose and arm vaguely. — I knew that if that woman ended up capturing me I would end up dead so I got up and continued my way here. —
—Then you're not going back out there.— He whispers with a thick voice and tense muscles as he observes me carefully. His features were strong and somewhat wrinkled, giving me the impression that he was angry. — I knew that it was a mistake for you to return after the Easter holidays. You should have listened to me (Y/N). —
—And what did you want? That I would sit at home with my hands folded when the school is falling apart and you're basically shouldering the burden alone? What kind of person would I be if I did something like that Neville? —
—Someone who wants to live (Y/N)!— He raises his voice a little, causing my body to tense and the anger to increase.—
—That is the most stupid and selfish thought I have ever heard you say. —
—Selfish?— He laughs sarcastically, shaking his head— Don't you realize? Ginny and Luna are gone. Who knows if they are still alive after all this time. Dean is on the run because his life is in danger and no one is safe here, no one (Y/N). And I’m selfish for wanting to protect you? Look how you are right now! Do you think it's worth it? —
—Why wouldn't it be worth it? Neville, we're in this together. I can't be far from my friends, from you, knowing the type of people we are facing. You and I made a promise and I won't be the one to break it. So forgive me if you don't agree with my way of thinking, but it is what it is and that's the end of the matter. —He snorts, shaking his head and crosses his arms, remaining silent for a few minutes.—
—Sometimes, I wish I hadn't fallen for you…— Neville's words pull my gaze to him, and as he sighs, I see the weight of his feelings mirrored in his eyes. — Not in this reality we're trapped in. I wish I didn't have to fear losing you, seeing you hurt, or wondering if each kiss might be the last. But that's not the hand we've been dealt. I can't stop loving you, can't shake off these fears, can't help being selfish when it comes to you, because, (Y/N), you're everything to me. Just try to see it from my side, even for a moment, please.—
His voice wavers, and my heart clenches, a lump forming in my throat. Shifting on the couch, I lean against his chest, feeling his arms envelop me in a cocoon of warmth.
—That's what I do every single day.— I murmur, hiding my face in the curve of his neck.— I've seen you hurt so often, I've feared your life slipping away in my arms. I've watched you champion others, devise plans to protect them, and take risks just to show us reasons to keep fighting. I hate that you constantly put yourself in danger, yet I can't help but believe you're the person we all need in these times. Let me support you. Don't push me away, asking me to see things your way because I can't, not when I'm here to care for you and others just as you do.—
Neville sighs and pulls me a little tighter in his arms, careful not to touch my injured arm. We remain silent for a couple of minutes until he separates himself a little from me so he can look me in the eyes.
—Let's clean you up a little so you can rest. I'll be back, stay here. - I move away from him so he could go get some things and he returns with a cloth and some water. He sits down next to me and begins to wipe the blood off of my face with such gentleness that it seems as if he were afraid of breaking.
My gaze traces his face, lingering on his pink lips and the newly grown beard, a testament to the weeks spent confined in the Room of Requirement. Stress had etched maturity onto his features, evident in the shadows beneath his eyes—common to all of us—but he retained the same handsome allure from last summer, perhaps even more so. As he finishes tending to me, a tender kiss graces my cheek, eliciting a half-hearted smile that cherishes every display of affection from him.
Resting my forehead against his, I toy with his hand before our lips brush fleetingly, fulfilling the longing that had brewed within me for days. Our mouths meet in a soft, unhurried kiss, an expression of emotions unspoken. When we separate, Neville's faint smile lingers, punctuating the moment with a final kiss placed gently upon my forehead.
—It's better that you rest for a while. I have to go get more food. When I get back I'll wake you up, okay? — I nod and he gets up from the couch so he can lie me down on it. — I'll see you later, try not to scare me anymore today, okay? —
—Only if you try not to give me headaches either. — Neville laughs lowly, rolling his eyes and nods. —
— I can try, I don't promise anything. —I smile and Neville waves goodbye, while I close my eyes trying to fall asleep.—
