remember in deathly hallows when narcissa and lucius said fuck this war and ditched voldemort because their son was in danger? i mean yes, narcissa and lucius respected all those blood-purity stuff and were overall bad but they were also,,,really caring
i mean when voldemort gave draco the task she literally cried and begged snape to protect him

Stories like that of a young Slytherin witch, perfect in all the ways she was, and weak in all the ways she wasn't.

Hot. And a younger Snape wearing a loose tee that shows his collarbones, jewelries, piercings, chains, ripped jeans maybe skinny to show that ass, tatts, and his hair up in a half-do with some strands falling to frame his face, with eyeliner and light makeup?? Hot. I need the Blacks and the Malfoys + Snape looking hot in muggle clothing, please
(Yes I'm sending another ask) I heard someone say that the Malfoys were the best parents, what are your thoughts on this? And could you make a rank from the best parents to the worst?
I don't think the Malfoys were the best parents; they instilled the toxic pure-blood supremacy ideology in Draco at such a young age (Of course, they were in the Sacred 28, but it's still pretty bad) shaping him to be the entitled and prejudiced individual he is, and that's practically it. Lucius is emotionally distant and he's more focused on status and power than Draco's emotional being, but he still does care about Draco.
About Narcissa, she's actually quite the contrast. She really cares about Draco's wellbeing and could go far from doing the unbreakable vow with Severus to even faking Harry's death just to know if Draco was still alive.
And how could Lucius and Narcissa even protect Draco from Voldemort? Lucius failed to retrieve the prophecy for Voldemort in OoTP, he can't really do anything else. It's practically impossible. Unless they are willing to seek asylum with the Order of the Phoenix (Cough, what?) since they had multiple safe houses that were protected by the Fidelius Charm which could make them nearly impenetrable to the DE's and Voldemort although this would have been a huge betrayal of their pure-blood pride and severe retaliation from Voldemort's forces, they could fake Draco's death (Uhm.) where the Malfoys orchestrate the most brilliant, elaborate plan to fake Draco's death maybe using polyjuice potion or other magical deception where Draco dies and he could live another identity but Voldemort is highly suspicious and paranoid, so this would probably not even work, leave the Wizarding World altogether (COUGH), and that's all of their options.
Draco was also happy with being a death eater, meanwhile Lucius and Narcissa were worried, so at least they cared.
So just by Lucius being a DE, I don't think he was a good parent. Narcissa was a good parent, and etc. but they aren't the best parents.
Lucius ran around the castle to find Draco wandless, Narcissa did as listed, and more behind the scenes.
Those basically, there's nothing else they could've done but they were alright. I would say, maybe Ted and Andromeda were probably the best parents parents since they raised their daughter (Nymphadora) good.
I wouldn't say the Weasleys were good though, Lily was a good parent (Although, I still don't like her) and I have nothing to say about James, of course the Blacks weren't, and all of those.
Well, all of the yapping aside: They weren't the best parents but they were good enough.

"My father will hear about this!" is actually healthy child behaviour
So one of Draco's most iconic lines (from the movies at least, but the same sentiment is in the book) is "My father will hear about this" or "Wait till my father hears about this".
It's usually used to ridicule Draco from what I have seen...but to me it makes Draco a more relatable child character compared to the trio.
As a kid, and even as an adult, I was very open with my parents. I told them basically everything. They were very involved in my life and I felt comfortable going to them with all my problems.
Admit it: would you prefer kids like the trio who go off on dangerous adventures, leaving adults in the dark or would you prefer a kid like Draco who will loudly tell you what's bothering him?
This is what these lines tell me about Draco's relationship with his dad and himself:
Draco has a close emotional bond with his father. He is ok with telling his father about his daily life which should be healthy child behaviour.
He believes his father cares about him and his safety. You don't complain to a parent who does not care about you.
And of course, the rebuttal is that children should not be overly dependent on their parents and they need to learn how to handle problems on their own.
Well, I have a news flash for you! If your kid is being abused by teachers or feels they are being treated unjustly at school, they should not be made to handle it on their own!!! Maybe Harry would have benefitted from having more of Draco's attitude. And then maybe Umbridge would not have been able to torture how many kids without hordes of angry parents descending on Hogwarts!
As problematic as the Malfoys are, I genuinely believe they have one of the healthiest nuclear families. Neville's grandma is...let's just say that it's a tragedy that JKR made Snape Neville's boggart when his grandma is ultimately responsible for Neville's self-esteem issues. Didn't one of his uncles throw him out a window as a kid?? Harry's family are hella abusive. Ron had a broken wand and feared going to his parents about it which is a huge red flag! You know given how dangerous a broken wand is! Hermione doesn't seem to give a damn about her parents. We don't even know their names. And I truly fail to understand why some muggleborne kids were never removed from school. Hermione was petrified and her parents sent her back the following year? Either Hermione never told them, the school hushed it up and/or the parents couldn't care less. Either option is bad.
I don't care what the antis think about Draco. When/If I have a kid in the future, when they have issues I hope they will feel secure saying "My mom will hear about this!".
Dating Draco Malfoy Would Include....
· Unexpected kisses
· Falling asleep in his arms
· Passing notes in class charmed to only be shaped like swans
· Wearing his Quidditch jumpers all the time.
· Him sticking up for you no matter who or what
· Every guy knowing not to look at you or the Slytherin prince will make sure they end up in the medical wing for the next week.
· Putting up with Pansy’s constant flirting and laughing when she calls him “Drakie”
· Being the most important person in his life and him talking to you about all his family issues and vice versa.
· Him lighting up whenever you enter the room
· He gets really protective of you even though he knows you are very capable by yourself. Its just that he doesn’t want to lose you
· Him sending you extremely romantic letters during the holidays when you two are apart. They never fail to make you smile.
· Him showing off his knowledge in class just to impress you.
· You’re favourite days with him are spent talking, snogging, laughing, or anything were you wouldn’t be interrupted.
· He would be so touchy, so his favourite days with you would be spent having physical contact with you and just sitting in a comfortable silence as you both unwind from the weeks events.
· Holding hands when ever you go on long walks around Black Lake or in Hogsmeade.
· Him taking you out on his broom late at night when neither of you can sleep. Where he proceeds to do crazy tricks to impress you, but it usually ends up scaring the hell out of you. Though you don’t mind as you love being in the sky with your favourite person in the entire world.
· Giving him small kisses 24/7 that never fail to lighten up his mood any day
· Him telling you jokes just to hear your laugh as he thinks it the most beautiful thing he’s ever heard.
· Sitting next to him in classes with either your head on his shoulder or his hand on your thigh.
· Constantly talking about you to Crabbe and Goyle to the point where they think he’s low-key obsessed with you.
· Proving to everyone that you’re his by leaving hickies all across your neck, so you are having to wear scarfs constantly
· After a long day of classes, sitting on his lap and cuddling in front of the fireplace talking late into the night. And you accidently waking up the other students in the Slytherin house because you two were laughing too loud.
· On cold winter days him coming up behind you and hugging you from behind and resting his chin on top of your head. Whilst you continue whatever you were doing before.

My Speculations on Death Eaters
I feel like people kind of forget how old Voldemort is. At the time that he died he was 81, he attended school a good 70 years beforehand. Most of the parents of current students are in their 30s to 50s and their grandparents were in their 60s to 80s.
The Death Eaters began when Voldemort was in school.
Therefore, it is likely that the Death Eaters of Marauder’s Era were 2nd generation Death Eaters that grew up much like Draco did, although with a living Dark Lord. So all the arguments of Draco Malfoy being “the boy who didn’t have a choice”, could also be applied to Lucius Malfoy and possibly other Death Eaters.
In fact, it’s likely that most pure-bloods in Marauders Era were heavily brain-washed into believing pureblood propaganda and given the Dark Mark before they were even out of school or just barely. And once you are in the Death Eaters there is really no way out except death.
I feel like it’s possible that once the Dark Lord had been dead for a while some of the Death Eaters may have come to the conclusion that life was more peaceful without a homicidal maniac or the brain-washing had time to wear off and they began to realize exactly what they’d done because when Voldemort returned it was even pointed out that none of the Death Eaters had attempted to bring him back.
IMO, some of the Death Eaters probably didn’t want the Dark Lord back and only continued to be on his side out of fear and self-preservation.
