Do you ever think you'll stop drawing fanart? No offense it just seems like the kind of thing you're supposed to grow out of. I'm just curious what your plans/goals are since it isn't exactly an art form that people take seriously.

Sad, immature girls no one takes seriously. Girls who are taught that it’s shameful to be excited or passionate about anything, that it’s pathetic to gush about what attracts them, that it’s wrong to be a geek, that they should feel embarrassed about having a crush, that they’re not allowed to gaze or stare or wish or desire. Girls who need to grow out of it.
That’s the art you mean, right?
Because in my experience, when grown men make it, nobody calls it fanart. They just call it art. And everyone takes it very seriously.

another half fleshed out 2:30am thought: i think it’s bad that we are teaching women and girls to be fearful of literally everything. it’s absolutely true that there are dangerous things and people out there and folks who are perceived as women are at higher risk for those things. but i just saw a girl make a video on tik tok freaking out because some drunk guy fell asleep in her apartment hallway near her door and has convinced herself that he’s stalking her. if that’s actually what happened, that’s awful. but what it sounds like is a guy passed out drunk in the hallway and because society has absolutely fried womens’ nerves when it comes to safety she has come to the conclusion that she’s clearly personally in danger. this isn’t healthy. this isn’t a way to live. we have to find a happy medium between acknowledging systemic misogyny and making women and people perceived as women terrified of literally just existing.
really tired of seeing the idea that women & girls are less likely to be diagnosed with autism because it "presents differently" so widely accepted even in progressive spaces
it is also widely accepted that women get raises less often because they don't ask as much as men. this is objectively not true.

every time we talk about gender discrimination, people look for an explanation that starts with women's behavior.
and every fucking time, actual research shows that across the board, women actually don't behave that differently from men.
women aren't diagnosed less often with autism due to "presenting differently". it's gendered medical neglect, and weaponized diagnoses disproportionately applied to women (e.g. BPD, HPD, bipolar, etc.)
can we just talk about how like machines, boats, cars and more are commonly called some sort of female pronoun, but only by men so it's like an old obliviously misogynistic way of saying they own them like how women used to be classed as a mans possession

Mt. Lady does get her cool moments later on, but she’s a seriously minor character and I frankly wouldn’t be surprised if she dies. And she’s far from being the only female character who is egregiously sexualized.
