Raven Among Crows
This is something I wrote forever ago for a class but I figured I could put it here, It may not be the best, but I’m satisfied with it.
--------
Lourraine unconsciously shrunk in on herself, the jeering laughs around her seemed like they were concentrated on her, instead of the poor soul her friends had targeted. This constant fear was starting to get tiring.
“P-please.” The pixie pleaded. A little thing really. Pale, with some of the brightest red hair Lourraine had ever seen. “Don’t hurt me.”
The pixie’s bright blue, diamond shaped irises alighted on her’s and Lourraine had to tighten her fists. She comforted both herself and the pixie by reassuring herself that her friends wouldn’t hurt the pixie. Pixies were highly empathetic, so the bullies could think as many violent thoughts towards her and overwhelm her, but so long they didn’t cross any lines she would be fine.
“I don’t know,” Nickolas, the unspoken leader started, “I heard that wings cost a pretty penny these days.” He rested a foot on the small girl’s back, directly between the delicate wings.
Lourraine’s heart seemed to stutter in sync with the wings, the thought of that beautiful kaleidoscope being forcefully ripped off the girl’s back momentarily knocking her out of breath.
“Guys.” Somehow, she kept her voice steady, so much for those aforementioned lines. “It isn’t worth it. Leave the thing alone.”
Nickolas and the rest of the group turned to her, and Lourraine resisted the urge to hunch in on herself, or to check on her ears. Instead she held their gazes unflinchingly.
Nickolas sighed. “I suppose you’re right, come on guys.”
The pixie seemed to be saying thank you with her eyes.
---
Lourraine didn’t often fall asleep in class, but when she did, it was always suddenly and heavily. She had always likened it to an enchanted sleep.
It was cold in the forest, or at least what appeared to be a forest. It was so realistic, Lourraine had to remind herself that this was just a figment of her imagination, the chill settling into her, bone deep.
“If you believe in yourself, the cold might prove to be less of a problem than it actually is.”
“Who’s there?”
Lourraine felt a tap on her shoulder and she whirled around. She was expecting to find a lot, but for some reason coming face to face to a man that couldn’t have been older than her didn’t include itself in the list of possibilities.
“You can call me Kura.” He gave her a warm smile, despite the harsh weather. He was pale, and his dark hair only served to intensify it, his dark clothing seemed to have the same purpose, all blues and purples and the occasional red, though he was wearing nothing that could be counted as warm in the winter. His eyes were the palest blue she had ever seen, almost white in their intensity, it made Lourraine self-conscious of her own brown eyes
“Hi?”
Another warm smile. “You can be quite fierce when you want to be.”
Lourraine gaped at the man, Kura, momentarily. “What are you talking about?”
“I’m talking about your independency.” Like that was the most obvious thing in the world. “It’s obvious you can support yourself, you are your own person with your own personality and values and yet you decide to depend on those you call your ‘friends’. Like a sheep following the herd because it doesn’t know any better.”
“That’s not…”
“Not what? The truth of the matter? We mythological creatures have been oppressed by humans the entirety of our existence, we have learned to put aside our differences and stand together for our rights and yet here is a Fae. Half-human you may be, Fae blood still runs in your veins and you are standing with the humans despite your own desires.”
“What do you know of my desires?” An admittedly stupid question to ask a figment of her imagination, but she could care less at the moment.
Kura shrugged. “Perhaps nothing or maybe I know more than you’d think. My only role here is to help you be truthful to yourself. To acknowledge the person you want to be, instead of the person your ‘friends’ want you to be.”
Lourraine clenched her fists, this guy was so annoyingly cryptic and yet… ”Why do you even care?”
“All snowflakes fall under my domain, it`s my duty to help them, it brings me pleasure to see them thriving.”
Her brows furrowed in confusion. “I’m not a snowflake.”
“No. But like them you’re unique, and I would hate for that to be stripped from you.”
“Thanks for caring, I guess.” She said aloud, underneath her breath however, “what a weird dream.”
Kura chuckled. “Whoever said it was a dream?”
“What?” Lourraine abruptly shot up in her seat, the wintery forest gone from her senses. All that remained was the hard seat of her chair and the sudden attention of her classmates and teacher. She sank back in her seat. “Sorry.”
---
Nickolas was bullying the poor pixie again. It was becoming worse, Lourraine could tell. When she had shown up, she could spy a bruise staining the delicate skin of the pixie’s cheek.
Nickolas laughed uproariously. “How weak, and to think that humans once feared your kind.” Lourraine glanced away at the remark, she was ashamed to admit that sometimes she wished for those days again.
Lourraine gritted her teeth. Those days were long gone and yet the words of her manifested dream persona kept ringing in her ears.
Nickolas suddenly grinned and planted his foot in the middle of the pixie’s back, to both of their surprise, and gripped one of the colorful wings. “How about this? A sign that humans have nothing to fear and my next allowance.”
The pixie cried out. “No! Please, anything but that! Please, I’ll do anything!”
But to Lourraine’s mounting horror, Nickolas only grinned wider and started gently tugging. Thankfully, pixie wings were stronger than they looked, but that still must have caused incredible pain.
“Stop! Nickolas, she gets it! That’s far enough!” Lourraine almost surprised herself by shouting in defense of the pixie, but her words rang true in her own heart. It was enough.
He only chuckled in response. “I’ll decide when it’s enough.”
The pixie screaming only worsened her anxiety and within the next second something within her had snapped.
“Stop!” Her shout, augmented by sudden wind was nearly deafening. Nickolas was pushed away violently from the pixie by a sudden flurry of hail.
Nickolas gaped at her, eyes shooting to her revealed pointed ears before meeting her glaring eyes, ignoring the sudden downpour of rain indoors, a fact neither seemed to notice or care for at the moment.
“You?” He matched her glare with one his own when recovered from the shock. “I trusted you and all this time you were one of them?”
“That’s right. And now I’m telling you to back off, before we both do something we’re going to regret.”
Nickolas faltered, looking up at the indoor storm and suddenly scoffed, stomping away. “Whatever.”
Lourraine sighed, before turning to the crying pixie. “Hey, are you okay?”
The pixie suddenly launched herself at Lourraine, burying her head into her chest and sobbing for all that she was worth. “Thank you. Thank you so much.’
“Don’t worry, it’s going to be okay now. My name is Lourraine, what’s yours?”
“Nala.”
It was a bit difficult to understand at first, with the sobbing, but she understood well enough. “Nala. That’s a pretty name.”
When Lourraine looked up she could have sworn she saw a pale shadow with dark clothing.
They're A Ten, But.. (Tag Game)✨️
Hopping on this after seeing @the-golden-comet did one awhile back. My characters from 🌐7 Circles🌐:

Usagi, definitely for sure his real name, runs a very legal business.
I don't think I've shared this with anyone besides a friend I don't really talk to anymore; and while I feel extremely nervous sharing them, I'll think I'll ease that by expressing the fact that I'm not an artist. I have been self teaching myself how to draw for years, so if this looks kind of bad, that's why.
Anyways, I obviously like it enough to share, so I am very proud of my work regardless.
That aside, I wanted to detail this story before sharing everything I did for it (I guess this'll be a short series about everything I drew for it).
A Fourth Dimension Reality is a series of books I'm writing about two inter-dimensional kids trying to find out what dimension they're actually apart of. Along the way, they meet other people who are integral to their goal. Each of these characters will be introduced as I go along.
Now, as for the real world logic, I wrote this story after me and that friend were talking about how some shows that are suppose to be comedy/satire lost that along the way.
So, I was determined to make a story where that stays intact even in the finale. Essentially, this is a long shit post that needs to be stopped, but it's still going well into five books with a unfinished total of 100k and seven books officially planned.
Each book ranges from 23k-30k and no book is any longer... yet
So, anyways, here's the actual cover of the first book (I have two more made).

Later on though I ended up drawing something goofy where all the characters find a dimension that does space tours. That was my excuse as to why they don't have shoes (because you don't want to get the dimension dirty do you?)

But this is everyone and presents their personalities pretty well. I'll showcase them separately over the next few days.
For now, this is perfect showcase of this story:
“So this means no one can hear me scream!” Cassie used all of her breath in that howl. Larson groaned and went to hit her, but she moved out of the way and spun slowly in the air. “I can dodge you better out here.” She mocked.
With a growl, Larson said, “this isn’t some kind of joke. We need to do what Jax said.”
“Yeah, yeah whatever.” She dismissed his comment. “We’ll get there eventually, let’s just have a little fun!”
Larson just stared at Cassie as she continued to spin around happily.
He was brought back to reality when he felt his phone vibrate. “Oh, I forgot,” he answered it swiftly, “you can hear me right?”
Back on Earth, Jax could clearly hear them through the phone. “I’m surprised that it even works! I really didn't think it would.” He said with amazement present in his voice.
“Yeah, doubt me, why don’t you.” Jax laughed at Larson’s remark. “But I’ll try a video call now.”
“Alright.”
Larson was about to press the button when he saw Cassie still spinning around in front of him; he sighed and turned on the video call. Once it came up, he saw a smile grow to Jax’s face.
“So it does work, great.” Jax paused. “Cassie!” He called out.
“Yeah?” She said while turning to look in their direction.
“The video call works.” Jax announced.
“Okay!” She began to slow her spinning down.
Cassie took out her own phone and called Jax once more. She put it on the video call and stuffed the phone inside of her bag. She zipped it closed and turned to Larson.
“Okay, I can see him, so that means we’re good! I’m screen recording so you guys can do whatever you have to.”
“You don’t have to tell me that,” Larson said.
Cassie huffed. “Stop being so mean. Anyways, we will Jax!” Cassie confirmed.
“Good luck you two!”
With their method of documentation set, they started putting their plan into action. Larson slowly moved over to Cassie.
“Stop acting like a kid and let’s get to work.” He snapped at her.
“You’re so boring. We’re in space dude! We can breathe without astronaut helmets, why not live a little, Lars?”
“Maybe on our next trip.” Larson went ahead and turned back once he was a small distance away from her.
From his jacket pocket, he pulled out the rope he brought. Needing to be as air resistant as possible, he couldn’t carry a bag with him, instead he just already tied the rope around himself and stuffed the other end into his jacket pocket. He pulled out the other end and threw it to Cassie for her to grab. Cassie caught it and was now being pulled by Larson.
Once she was in front of him, Cassie pulled him. Their motions created a way for them to move about in space with the most amount of ease. After a few minutes of their maneuvering, Cassie let out a sigh.
“See, this is all business,” Cassie said with a pout.
“Yeah, yeah. Looking like a bitch doesn’t help you.”
“At least you used the right word, but I wasn’t trying to give you puppy dog eyes.”
They remained pulling each other in a still silence. This was maintained until they could finally see Pluto. Cassie giggled as she stared at it.
“Oh it’s so cute!” She paused. “Do you really think anyone will be there?”
“I don’t know, but if we do find someone it would be better to stick together.”
“I wonder if it’s like a superman thing.” Cassie started to talk about something else. “Like we’re stronger because we were on Earth for so long.”
Larson scoffed. “If anything, being on earth made us weaker.”
“See, I don’t think like that,” Cassie began, “I really feel like we’re stronger because we’ve been exposed to different mindsets and then we’re going to learn this one. So by default, we’ll be smarter!”
“Always on the bright side huh?”
Cassie giggled.
Also, fun fact: I'm so bad at spelling I kept writing Dimension as Dimention and I still don't really know if I'm spelling it right😃
They kept pulling each other until they were caught into the gravitational pull of Pluto and were able to land...

Here's the second book's self-made cover!
The Crimson Soul is the start of the group discovering more of the world around them. Finding out things they otherwise would have to de research on.
The exploration in this book is specifically about one rift they encounter after scouring their town for any anomalies.

Here's an excerpt:
As the world around her changed into the Rift world, Cassie found herself still innocently interested in the entire place. In her mind this place looked-
“Like it was raining blood for days!" Her eyes went everywhere they could. "This is the kind of stuff you see in horror films or those dystopias!” She said to no one.
Cassie looked at her phone seeing that only two minutes had passed. She sighed and tried to occupy herself for the remainder of the time. As she was going to, she felt a slight vibration. “Hmm?”
The vibration turned into full on shaking and when she looked up, her eyes were covered by a shadow. She held her hand above her eyes in order to see better and there she saw the figure of a giant staring down at her.
“Well, don’t you look mad?”
This large being made no effort to respond to her comment. As it towered over her, Cassie remained looking up at it.
“Creature. What brings you here? Are you the one who has been here before?”
Cassie nodded. “I’m here for a little… I don't know what it's called." Cassie paused for a while and thought about the right word.
The beast spoke at that time. “So that means you’re the one who came and kept my people from killing that human?”
Cassie didn't speak for a bit and the beast began to get impatient.
“Damn, I can't think of the word, but yeah I did do that." She looked up. “With that commanding tone you have, my guess is you’re Sarkon… right?” Cassie assumed.
“Sekon, you insolent creature!” Cassie smiled a bit. “With your insolence, do you believe you’re going to get out of here alive now?”
“Not really… well, at least I know you think you’re going to kill me, but hear me out.”
“Why should I? What’s stopping me from just crushing you into our fertile crust?”
“Because you’re looking for challengers, right?”
Sekon paused, but eventually spoke. “…that’s correct.”
“Then I’ll fight you!”
“Willingly? You aren’t looking for some kind of bargain to hold over my head?”
“Of course not, I’m honorable.”
Sekon laughed at her. “Besides me taking a liking to your blunt nature. I am bored and am in need of some entertainment.”
“I’m sure you are, but do we have a deal?”
“Yes, we do.”
“Okay, but hopefully you actually wait for a fair fight 'cause right now I’m a bit distracted. It won’t be much fun to crush me if I’m not going all out.”
“You are correct. Whatever it is you’re doing should be finished before tomorrow. You have my word that I won’t attack you before then.”
Cassie pursed her lips. “I know I probably shouldn’t trust you, but eh, whatever. I’ll be back here tomorrow and I’ll even have someone else who might be interested in fighting you as well!” Cassie's voice was chipper as she spoke.
Sekon chuckled. “Use whatever you need. I know you will not beat me.” Cassie smiled up at him "But do understand what you are losing when I win."
Her brows furrowed in confusion. “Okay, not sure what that is, but I’ll be thinking about it I guess.” Cassie was about to go past him, when she realized. “Oh, you mean my life!” Sekon seemed at a loss for words. “Yeah, for sure, I’m worried about my life and losing it or whatever.”
Sekon watched her for a bit, as Cassie seemed to be mumbling to herself as she walked off. Sekon watched her for a while longer as she carried on. He couldn’t help the amused feeling he got from her…
Cassie groaned to herself as she walked the streets. “Why the hell am I so stupid? How’d I not know he was talking about ending my life?” She sighed and tried to move on...
Fun Fact: this whole book takes place in this dimension and I liked making Sekon a lot because of the relationship he has with Cassie. Also, Cassie says his name wrong because of two reasons. 1. because she thinks his name should have been Sarkon, and 2. because I kept forgetting which name I actually picked, so instead of taking it out, I simply added it in the story!

WIP— I realized I needed more pieces with backgrounds for my portfolio. The pencil lines are really light so I’m not sure how well the sketch comes across but I’m excited to start painting!
