when in NYC..

Some of Janet Delaney’s splendid photography of NYC in the 1980’s 📸
From Blind Magazine:
“Through Delaney’s lens, we get a feeling of small-town life set amid a soaring backdrop in the new book, Red Eye to New York (MACK). Although the architecture is grand, Delaney finds the human moments that we all share: breakfast in a sunny restaurant; kids gathered after school; a moment of respite at the butcher shop; a summer afternoon grilling in the park. Using a Rolleiflex camera, Delaney documented the intimacy of New York while also preserving its grandeur at a time when the city was still struggling to survive.”

As I was walking in Penn Station in Manhattan NYC I stumbled upon this dope art exhibit outside of the Moleskin store.
The exhibit had the question “Can Creativity change the world?” On all sides. Inside the glass were several journals which contained art by various artists along with their accompanying stories.
Originally I was on my way to some work but Because I am a big journal 📓 person myself, and because the art caught by eye, I just had to stop and let it inspire me. I want to share some of my favorite pieces with you…

Empathy Machine, 2022
One of the greatest human inventions of all time was written language and with books we are able to communicate complex ideas and feelings. Now that we have video games we can place someone inside another person and they can live out their experiences. As we create more complex and visceral ways to feel empathy for other humans, we will grow closer together and find ways to overcome any obstacle in our way.

This piece was one of my favorites for sure!
Exhibition Name:
Can creativity change the world?
Location: New York Penn Station, Moynihan Hall

Nite Owl Wabi Sabi, 2022
What is creativity? The ability to see what isntactually there. To be able to conjure up a Physical representation of an abstract thought.
My stetchbook starts with an exploration of impressionistic owls awash in color and strokes
Whitle realistic in their depiction, the colors are allowed to take over the com position. Halfway through the book, it is literally flipped into a series of character-based owls that inhabit their own colorfall world of fantasy. Both sides are awash in vibrant colors. Owls are the medium colors are the message.

Happy 4/20 y'all! I hope you enjoy the holidaze. Enjoy this random smoke session footage I found!
This was my homie Cxltxre’s first time hitting the Bongo 🥁🥁🥁. 🤣😂🤣

It’s giving NY state of mind vibes.
In “The Artists’ Way” Julia Cameron is adamant about prescribing weekly artists dates to take time to be present and heal your artistic soul.
This week I decided to go to a rooftop spot in the city that always brings me joy and peace. I did nothing but allow my self to experiment with sounds and play on my #mpclive2
[Shoutout to Akai Pro]
I’m glad I took some time for myself to do this because normally I wouldn’t. It was a stressful week and I was not in the mood to create or go to a different borough iykyk.
I found my flow there and for a few hours, release from all my worries and anxieties. It was dopeful.

I'm just living that life
