I finally had time to watch it, and it's even better than I thought!
He's going to be making a few tutorials of Godot engine, from making your first game, to a full overview of Gd Script!
I am ecstatic!
I think i may just start posting about little game dev experiments
I’m making a little game to use for my friends birthdays
Updates soon hopefully?
Yay a space post for me!!!!!! I agree op, this is very impressive.
Y'all, the world is sleeping on what NASA just pulled off with Voyager 1
The probe has been sending gibberish science data back to Earth, and scientists feared it was just the probe finally dying. You know, after working for 50 GODDAMN YEARS and LEAVING THE GODDAMN SOLAR SYSTEM and STILL CHURNING OUT GODDAMN DATA.
So they analyzed the gibberish and realized that in it was a total readout of EVERYTHING ON THE PROBE. Data, the programming, hardware specs and status, everything. They realized that one of the chips was malfunctioning.
So what do you do when your probe is 22 Billion km away and needs a fix? Why, you just REPROGRAM THAT ENTIRE GODDAMN THING. Told it to avoid the bad chip, store the data elsewhere.
Sent the new code on April 18th. Got a response on April 20th - yeah, it's so far away that it took that long just to transmit.
And the probe is working again.
From a programmer's perspective, that may be the most fucking impressive thing I have ever heard.
edit: the correct answer is...
-0
this happens due to the way floating point numbers are stored; 0 and -0, although they are equivalent in value, the bits stored in your computer are not identical. the bit that tells a number that it is negative would be the only difference.
yeah, this is stupid, but so is javascript
New camera follows your cursor around. way better than the lame static camera.
Might start doing some dev logs soon.
There's a lot of people on here new to Game Dev, so I thought sharing my design processes and 'behind the scenes' might help inspire
Depends how much time I got because I don't post enough as is :/
Still a work in progress. Been revamping the level select screen to be the Sewlar System. The goal will be to track the player's progress by having planet Lovely sewn up and repaired with each level completed.

On an art grind while the computer is dead. Today's booty: metal hand-stitched props

Redesigned the difficulty icons. Each tier of difficul-tea is based on hot drinks getting more caffinated. Starting from a babychino and building up to the espresso hard mode.
The Babychino/ accessibility mode will have the time limit for levels removed so players who struggle with the controls can enjoy the game without any obstacles
Carmile Chill/ Easy mode gives the player more time and reduces AI health
I also have plans for a hard mode called 'Espresso' that will focus on having less time but more opportunities to generate time, like your taking shots of espresso.
Seems very fitting to have a themed difficulty system for a sewing game
New sewing spree counter tracks everything you have sewn until being hit. It still keeps count over levels so you can rack up a huge score until it breaks. Also got the line to flash white like in Pokémon Rangers yay

Feeling fenced in.
Made some sewing inspired stone walls while I was in Yorkshire last week but the colour looks so pants I refuse to share.
Oh yeah. It's multi-kill system time.
You now get your little text-based dopamine hit for getting a triple kill sew.
The only thing I don't like about this feature is the naming convention. Double, triple and quad sew sound fine and are easy to grasp. But anything past ×4 like 'penta-sew' sounds lame when it sits next to the funny spree counter.
Birch tree. More like bi*ch tree

I will finish at least one side project before I die…

Does anyone have any free online resources for at least starting to teach yourself to code? I obviously have no illusions that I will become a badass tech bro from the get-go, but I wanna check if I am still as un-predisposed to it as I remember from my youth. In case there's an off-chance I am not too humanities-brained for that, after all. I love my current field, I love being an English major, but every day, I feel less and less respected or needed, especially when it comes to decent job offers, so I am growing desperate.
when the code works perfectly by the compiler, but the test fails for some reason. and you spend your time trying to figure it out only to realize that if you placed it earlier into the code, it passes both the compiler and the test. Coding makes me so dramatic and frustrated, but I love figuring out the answers at the same time ◉_◉
since you're from brazil, do you have any memories of the stuff you've watched on broadcast tv?
Oh, yeah, I've watched a bunch of cartoons. Some now are sadly lost media.
Also a bunch of horror movies that now I can't believe they even ALLOWED to be shown on broadcast TV in the 80's-90's. Some even during afternoon!
ℝ𝔼𝔸𝕃𝕃𝕐? 𝕃𝕚𝕜𝕖, 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕜𝕚𝕟𝕕 𝕠𝕗 𝕙𝕠𝕣𝕣𝕠𝕣 𝕗𝕝𝕚𝕔𝕜𝕤?
Mostly trash horror, the blockbusters were reserved to late night programming. Tbh, when I was younger, we already had cable, but I mostly watched broadcast; though during the time I was a child, both got more picky with movie selection.

Yeah, sorry to disappoint you. I wasn't among the... 'lucky children' who watched Monster in the Closet, Critters or even Return of the Living Dead in broadcast TV.
