Do you think the person who made the artwork for the first puzzle, the person who made the first puzzle and the person who solved the first puzzle were one and the same or three different people?
(depiction of what a puzzle is in case you're stupid)
I love having the ability to do custom puzzles, makes me able to do shit like this
I did like 5 or so in total but I only captured these two, but here’s an unfinished one as a bonus, perhaps:
On the topic of Roblox, here’s my avatar, but like in its full glory:
(The green flames are like a in game thing, yeah-)
a thing i have learned about myself this fine quarantine evening is that i hate puzzles they are Not Fun and they make me angry
FOR ANYONE WONDERING the puzzle does give you a little signal/confirmation when you've finished it.
I'm not saying I'm a mad scientist but sometimes I do think about kidnapping random people into a featureless white room where I won't let them out until they solve a simple puzzle game without instructions.
There's no saw trap to kill them if they fail, they just gotta keep trying until they figure it out. And I guess if they can't figure it out after like 8 hours I'll let them out anyway
Pensé que era la única, porque también tenía mi libreta para anotar,jajaja... Nostalgia encima!!
Don’t you miss this too?
it should be illegal to put ads in apps or sites for solitaire or picross or sudoku tbh. playing classic puzzle games uninterrupted needs to be a HUMAN RIGHT
Writing Prompt
“I beg your pardon?” the protagonist asked inquisitively to the man of the ancient city, for you see whilst on an expedition with a group of their traveling companions. They got lost then stumbled upon this place to be trapped inside this ancient city. The man then declares with a smirk.
“Well you see my dear, the only way you may leave here is if you can solve this riddle of mine! Though I should warn you, I have quite a hand at giving out difficult riddle to solve. But Please do try, I would very much like to see how well you fair~”
Honestly, one of my biggest fears is someone I know finding my Tumblr and putting way too many puzzle pieces together.
Remembered how when I was a child my Mema would get me 1000-3000 piece puzzles and I’d finish them in an afternoon, laying on the hardwood floors and having exactly zero thoughts other than finishing, and how she would provide me with large stacks of paper and a stapler and let me just…. Staple that shit 40 thousand times for hours on end because I liked the feel and sound of it.
I might should get tested
New book! Murder most puzzling by stephanie von reiswitz
It is a collection of puzzles, a la sherlock Holmes consulting detective (the board game) and its ilk, but short and sweet.
Each mystery has a text passage and one or more pictures (so far, there are 20 and I've done... 3?)
It was a gift. And I'm having fun with it. Partner also seems to be having fun reading over my shoulder (and I've been reading it aloud too)
And unlike Consulting Detective, you play as the assistant to a girl detective/lady PI (vaguely reminiscent of Trixie mixed with Jack from Decoder Ring Theater's Black Jack Justice)
So far, I love it C:
Took my Poppet to do some puzzles and I learnt that I am in fact NOT very smart... 😵💫
Well, as I have mention before I have an AO3 account and this is basically my invitation for all of you TOH obsessed people to go and check it out. Ao3 is the best! The Owl House definitely needs a prequel series so this is my attempt at writing one. Can you guys check it out? Hits, Kudos, and Comments are the best thing ever. Of course, if it's not your style, that's fine. Unfortunately I probably won't be updating more than once a week. The summer might see more posts, I don't know yet. Filler chapters will be a thing but they all will have an actual plot. Of course, Raeda will be the main ship, as well as Aladarius. Raine is the biggest flirt with Eda and I will not be convinced otherwise. Harvey and Gilbert Park will appear too! I've also put Steve in the fic but he might be a little too young. Dana did such a great job with this show I'll never get over it. Disney screwed us over with the shortened season 3. Eda's backstory is so fascinating and I want more of it. Needless to say, I hope that I'm doing this character a good job of representing them accurately. My writing schedule is so chaotic though. Eda is my favorite to write, I'm getting all of the chaos I never dared to do out through her. Sometimes Lilith is my favorite though, I really relate to her. Steve is a cinnamon role, and I will always love him. And Darius puts up with so much in this fic it's amazing. Generally, it's a hilarious fic but does have a lot of angsty drama, mainly between the Aladarius and Odalia situation. Eda's curse is a big deal too. So, are you going to read it?
MWAH!
Love you guys!
Comment if you figured out the puzzle!
Me and my friends in the library doing a puzzle
This very much feels like it’s part of a phenomenon I like to call “Coffee Shop AU-ification” of RPGs. Where some people only get into the game because it’s trendy and chic (which is also why D&D maintains such a tight hold despite all the controversy)
It’s sanding off any friction or complication from play, just to get to the banter and stuff. This advice feels like those people saying “Hey, we all know that we’re gonna win. Can’t we just skip this so that I can continue my RP?”
I’ll leave off saying that if you use TTRPGs to just have fun RPing with your friends, that’s fine! Just acknowledge that other people don’t have to like it
My least favourite GMing "hack" that gets passed around is "make puzzles/riddles with no fixed answer, and then whatever answer the players guess, make that the right answer."
If the game I'm running is going to have riddles, it's because I have players at the table who... like riddles? And for those players, the fun of a riddle is the moment where it clicks and you get the satisfaction of figuring it out. Which just isn't likely to happen if the riddle is just some vague, evocative nonsense that validates whatever guess they make.
So, presumably, this hack is for making riddles for a table full of only people who do not like riddles. Which invites the question, "why are you making riddles for a table full of only people who do not like riddles?" Do you just feel obligated to?
I guess if so, then here is my hack for you: I absolve you. You are no longer obligated to include riddles in your game of people who don't like them. Go forth, my child, and riddle no more.
