Here are some rules and tips you should follow when you are applying a face mask and other skin care things:

#1 when applying a face mask, you should wash your face first. face masks should be applied to clean skin or it will not work properly. 

#2 I cannot stress this enough.... FACE MASKS DO NOT REMOVE MAKEUP. It honestly drives me insane when people say that the product does not remove makeup because honey its not suppose to and you’re suppose to wash your face first. 

#3 after you wash your face gently apply the face mask product on your face. if you have never used the product before I recommend doing a patch test on your forearm. 

#4 after you are done applying your face mask product and its been removed properly following the directions written on the box or container, you should pat your face dry.

#5 M O I S T U R I Z E YOUR FACE!!!!!!! I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. Even if its a hydrating mask. I don’t care. Every mask exfoliates the skin so you need to hydrate your skin. 

#6 DO NOT PICK AT YOUR SKIN. It leaves scars on your face and will show up as you age. 

#7 if you are going outside after you wash your face (you should be washing your face twice a day, once in the morning and once at night) put on some sunscreen. If your makeup says SPF 30 chances of it actually being SPF 30 is very low. This will prevent you from skin cancer, sun spots, faster aging, and wrinkles. 

#8 take your makeup off at night. you will get pimples if you don’t. 

#9 WASH YOUR PILLOW CASE EVERY WEEK. not washing your pillow case even if you wash your face everyday twice a day and never sleep with makeup on, this could be the reason why you are breaking out. hate to burst everyone’s bubble, but you drool in your sleep and you sweat at night which is why you should be washing your face in the morning. 

#10 love your skin. if you don’t like the way your skin looks, talk to a dermatologist or go to an estheticians spa and they will help you. believe it or not there are people out there that really want to help you feel beautiful in your skin so don’t be shy. They will be glad you came to them and asked for help because most of the time when people try to fix their acne or any other derma problem, it actually gets worse.

what influencers and cosmetic companies won't tell you, is that the best anti-aging and beauty regimen is a healthy, low-stress lifestyle. Regular exercise, hydration, whole foods, low sugar, a spiritual practice, minimal alcohol, no smoking, healthy relationships, gratitude, etc.

you could have expensive eye cream, costly cosmetic procedures, or high-end makeup products, but none of that matters if you're not healthy physically, mentally, and emotionally. If you stay in a toxic relationship for years, it will age you. If eat junk, drink, and smoke, it will age you. if you live a sedentary lifestyle, it will age you!!

skincare products are fun to use, and they can definitely take your skin to the next level (especially if you have conditions like acne or hyperpigmentation), but I always notice that my skin is the best when I've been drinking lots of water, limiting my sugar, getting sunlight, and staying stress-free. looking forever 21 y/o shouldn't necessarily be the goal, but aging gracefully is a byproduct of taking care of yourself.

TL;DR- stop spending copious amount of $$$ on beauty treatments, procedures, and makeup and just take care of the body and mind that you have. it will be far more effective (and cheaper) in the long run.

Watching them put together these gorgeous collections for their readers left me in AWE. I used to dream about being just like them. I even started writing just so I could someday be a journalist (she did not turn into a journalist, she works in marketing)

Fast forward a couple of years, and those print magazines we all knew are almost extinct.

What the hell?

Online magazines just don't capture the same essence as grabbing a fresh J-14 off the shelf. They’re too minimal (and I’m getting tired of minimalism)

ahh, i finally feel inspired to write again but does anyone else feel like something shifted after that eclipse? like the real new year just started for me. i feel so, renewed! but also fed up with so many things in my life. it's finally time to shed my skin (old habits and behaviours) and welcome new opportunities. in the same way the Persephone is rejoining her mother and awakening and beautifying the earth, i need to beautify my life after a period of stagnancy.

i'm making a lot of pacts to myself for the next couple of months regarding my health, and financial wellbeing. i'm in my mid twenties and i need to start focusing on being a baddie in every area of my life.

i also got this cute app called finch to help with self care tasks and keep me on track. the more self-care i do the bigger my penguin grows!! taking care of me takes care of her and i love it.

Something that’s often overlooked in skincare is regularly changing your pillow cases and using a detergent for them that thoroughly cleans but is also hypoallergenic and gentle. You can use all the expensive skin care in the world but if your pillow isn’t consistently clean and fresh you will be setting yourself back!

Too people who want to get "prettier" and have a "glow up" Do NOT expect it to go over night.

Plenty of people believed that you just become pretty with no effort like you see on TV. It's never that easy. It takes steps, processes and Discipline. Always start with the basics like :

Hygeine

Make a skincare routine for your skin

Know your skin type and build you skincare routine from there

body care for the entire body

Scrubs , lotions and body butters are a must

Exfoliate 1-2 times a week

haircare (hair is everything even if u have a hijab hair care is still possible)

Oil train your hair and know you hair porosity to know what products to use

Use a non sulphate or silicon shampoo

Conditioner and a hair oil of your choice based on your hair problem

Hair mask 1 times a week

Know ur hair pattern to be able to use the right products and not damage your hair pattern

Do not straighten your hair everyday!!!

Use Silk pillows and silk scrunchies instead of elastics!!!

Getting a closet and hair cut for you

Find your best colors and body type

Therefore you would know which colors make you shine the most as well as

Find your seasonal color and which fraction ur in (like winter bright , summer light and etc)

Find which type of hair cuts and bangs suit your facial featured and face shape most

I recommend looksmaxing or the Yt channel Dear Peachie to help you including makeup tutorials, which archetype you are and which closet you can do

Look for styles that match your personality and makes you stand out

Build up a hobby

like sports photography, drawing, crocheting, dancing, and etc.

Doesn't have to be time consuming just something to do when ur bored or free even

Also depends on your time to be careful on what you commit to

Try to explore more options without much costs before fully committing to something that isn't for long-term

Exercise ( unless you already do)

Exercise requires discipline for you to be able to do it continuously for progress

If you can't afford a premium membership take a walk/jog/run around the block,street,park

If you feel unsafe you can do a YouTube work outs as they are effective depending on your goal

I recommend channels like :Madfit ,Hinafit, Shirley kim, April Han, ema wong, and Chloe ting

Take time for yourself (not all the time)

If you dont have time for yourself your body and brain will get stressed (from experience)

It can be as simple as drinking your daily detox water, green juice, coffee, tea or reading a book

Get 8 hours of sleep

Make sure not to stress for something so complete a task when given no matter how far the deadline is!!!

Reduce screen time to 3 hours a day (outside of school/work related stuff)

Diet

Never go too extreme like you see those people online do

Unless you are talking to professionals such as dieticians, Nutritionists and etc. (Bc most public figures do have professionals that they seek help too for these types of situations)

stick to a healthy diet like the 80/20 method

Or you can also do keto/greek/high carb or protein just never go extreme as it will slow down your metabolism

Find who you really are and trying to be better

People never really open up to try different things you should try more to find what you like most or which you are most stable with

See the perspectives on how you act im different situations and see what your mistakes are to try to avoid doing them again

Fix your mentality (watch wizard Liz, Song Jia,) and read quotes to inspire you to do better and the most you can

Always Analyze the situation before commenting or doing action unless its an emergency

Do not let people decide for you or get to your head it is their opinion not yours. You opinion is never invalid and justified in your perspective

Confident vs Arrogant vs Egoistic

Confident people never brag nor do they drag people down. They know they are THAT person and will NOT care about your opinion of them.

Arrogant people like to Brag about something that they have and thinks their all That. They bring down people for not having the luxury they have. But when someone has more and better than them they always try to avoid them, argue with them or get annoyed by them as They want to show supremacy

Egoistic people tend to make fun of people. Self-centered people that only think about themselves without knowing or thinking that they hurt others. Their too preoccupied with themselves to think of others helps or needs

(Sorry its so long and unorganized I made this at 2:30 am bc idk and these are just some tips)

Basic Skincare Tips

-Don’t use a product with mint in it, mint is irritable to the skin (esp. to acne prone).

-Try to avoid products with alcohol in them; they can dry out your skin!

-NEVER apply essential oils on your skin if they are not significantly diluted. It will burn and damage your skin!

-Wear sunscreen EVERYDAY and re-apply every 2 hours

-Avoid picking your skin/touching your skin as much as possible!

-Every skin type needs to moisturize!!! Yes, even oily skin! (remember to also moisturize your neck + body)

-Rosehip oil will help heal your acne scars (apply before you go to sleep).

-Drink lots of water!

-Work towards consuming less sugary foods + dairy products (if you can), and instead eat/drink more antioxidants like green tea, dark chocolate, berries, pecans, etc.

-Exfoliate once or twice a week to remove dead skin cells.

-You do not need to have a 10 step routine, or a million products to have healthier skin. Applying too many on acne prone skin will just cause more inflammation.

-You do not need to use a toner. For some people toners are very beneficial, for others it dries out their skin. Find out what is best for you!

-Don’t put sugar on your skin; it is too harsh of an exfoliant!

One of my favorite go to scents is a powdery smell. It smells very light, comforting and feminine. I use a baby powder scented perfume oil that I got from a beauty supply store. I put vaseline on first then the perfume for the smell to last longer. I also carry a mini Johnson’s baby lotion bottle in my purse to moisturize parched hands.
