[♡ To anyone who reblogs/comments, I would die for you ♡]
SO…. i got a little too into wof this afternoon and cranked this out :3 I’m a christian btw so like i know some thinks about religion and the trauma that can come from it, so that was kinda what made me want to do this, that and the fact religion is heavily implied in WOF mainly in arc three w pantala but all the main Pyrrhian protagonist dragons hint at it at least once
Pyrrhian Wof dragon religion
So Wof religion, all the wings of fire dragons say “oh moons” and variations of that, so i assume that all dragons worship the moons one way or another but i imagine that nightwings started it, in the ancient kingdom when the first nightwings got powers from the moons they started worshiping them. They praised the moons for giving them these gifts and the nightwings named the moons, the would start building temples and their whole kingdom in ways the more dragonets were born with these powers, the other tribes gained things like art and war advantages, ect from the nightwings and they gained this worshipful practice from the nightwings here's each tribes reason for worshiping the moon and specifically how the go about worshiping the three moons
Mudwings: on theory it gave them success and helped their crops grow in the warm muddy locations they lived in. Every two full moons they dedicate a whole day to relaxing and thanking the moons for all they've done, when all three moons are full they celebrate with huge parties where they gave offering to the moons, many dragons use full moon days/nights to plant crops since they all believe it will make things grow better and bigger
Skywings: they felt the moon gave their dragonets more strength and better life ambitions while in the egg which would lead them to be a powerful kingdom full of scholars and brave dragons. Once a month they gather all the dragonets born in the month under the moons to name them, they think this awakens the dragonets mind with the gifts the moon gave them, in schools dragonets are taught to love the moons for being the smart younglings they are
Sandwings: they worship the moons assuming that they keep the oasis’ full of clean water for them to drink. They celebrate the moons with offerings of artwork and praise as well as requests to keep the waters flowing and the prey abundant
Seawings: they believe the moons keep the ocean currents from ripping up their homes by keeping the water calm, when there's hurricanes and really bad storms they assume they angered the moons. They hold what we would consider Sunday mass, families are expected to offer the best of what they hunted over the week to keep the moons happy.
Icewings: they believe the moons are what keep the snow snow-y. They base their religion on the idea that the moons keep their habitat cold for their survival. Similar to how the some dragons in the outer villages have days celebrating Caribou all the icewings even the nobles spend a week of the year celebrating the moon with parties art feasts, anything that spreads joy to all the icewings and makes them grateful to the moons
Rainwings: they believe in the power of the moons the least of all the tribes, many not believing in it at all, but those who do, believe that the moons gave them their venom
when they first moved into the rainforest. To celebrate the moons they offer fruits to altars that they set up in their huts and other sorts of rainwing homes
Since there's not only one religion in the world, I imagine that some dragons worship the queens of their kingdoms. They believe that each queen is a puppet for a higher power like the pope or any priest for humans almost?? For the skywings they believed Firestorm and Scarlet were a form of punishment for whatever reason excluding those who liked having those two as their queen of course, the same goes for all tribes really, otherwise various dragons might worship random things and other various made up idols of power, and i imagine all of them worship in ways similar to how we have christianity then for example we have mormons who are kind of like christians but with some different values, and some religion would vary across tribes like this:
Seawings worship the ocean for it allowing them to live in its depths
Nightwings (before it blew up) might have worshiped the volcano for its power
Sandwings worship the sand/sun for sustaining them with prey and heat
Icewings worship the snow for similar reasons to the sandwings with the sun
Rainwings worship the sun for its warmth and because it keeps the plants around them alive
Mudwings worship the mud for its healing capabilities
Skywings worship the mountains/wind for making them stronger (Authors note!! it was brought to my attention i forgot to add the factoid that skywings do have a reincarnation sort of thing for their dead (duh) so for that one, i feel they do that because they believe the mountains are able to heal them kind of how mud wings use mud and seawings use the sea, i imagine they would get this idea from an old story of a sickly old dragon who died and came to life when his family left him on a mountain peak Arthur Morgan style! so the skywings assumed that the mountains themselves brought the dragon to life again and they try to preform this ritual to bring their dead to life! i won’t clarify weather it works or not cuz i think that can be left to artists and fanfic writers who include the ritual :3)
It all varies, and id imagine they make music and art to praise these things just like us humans do
with these headcannons i can totally see the chance for a totally cool religion AU! I wouldn't mind at all ever if someone did use this for an AU! I would appreciate credit of course and id love to see how my work gets maybe used :3 but otherwise go wild!
I dunno if i want to do a pantalan one of this though 🤷
This has been a moonwatcher3 production 😎
Duskfall-They/Them

I did them two times, with different colors schemes (I liked the second one better). They are a Night/Rainwing hybrid.

Mudwings
two Mudwings headcanon that I have
1- Mudwings take cooking seriously as part of their culture and history as well as a way of living, because for them eating is living because eating something that is so delicious and prepared with care and love for them gives them a pleasure of joy and calm, so it's something very important to them so much so that they have different types of meals and dishes

2- Mudwings are very good at making art with clay, so much so that the best pieces of art come from them, in addition they are good at sculpting statues and are very detailed.

WOF BASES WOO

I liked how that piece of Sunny turned out, so I modified the pose into a handful of different bases for each tribe! Feel free to use them for designing or coloring an oc, just please add credit if you do!

Someday I’ll finally figure out a story for all of my WoF OCs
Jade was originally designed by Paradise1Drawz on DA, but I think they changed their user so now I can’t find them 😭

I haven't drawn any of my Wings of Fire OCs lately so I'm posting some messy doodles of them lol

Не бреши мені - Do not lie to me

Oh yes, mudwings

Close up

One more and talon practice
There are only two problems with drawing dragons` necks - too long neck or too short neck

Wasn`t a fan of tusks for mudwings until I drew them myself lol. I think it would work out well as a royal family trait (like the patterns seawings have)

Reblogs greatly appreciated

Wings of Fire MudWings are the most underrated fucks in the entire book series and you can fight me about it. I even took creative liberties

OCHRE REWRITE!
Ochre:
My version of Ochre is one of my biggest changes. Ochre as a dragonet was extremely quiet and struggled with fitting in with his sibs. Although he did have one sib who cared for him and made sure he was included as much as possible (Mire). But he continued to struggle, preferring to be alone doing his own thing. Socializing was very overwhelming for Ochre. Due to this, he never developed proper social skills. He was a very hyper independent dragonet. He doesn’t understand social cues very well and mostly does his best to remain stoic and walled off from others. When the war started, he was a soldier. In his training, his general slammed it into his head even more that he has to remain emotionless going into war and that emotions indicate weakness. He learned later that all of his sibs were killed in battle. Although he was not close with them compared to other Mudwing siblings, this still hit him incredibly hard. When he feels any form of emotional distress, he turns to food to comfort himself. He is very overweight compared to other Mudwings which is very surprising. He often tries his best to avoid anything that can upset him. This makes him seem aloof and dismissive. While he seems mostly calm and uncaring of everything around him, he’s deeply troubled and does not know how to properly process his emotions. He’s very pessimistic towards everything due to underlying depression after the death of his sibs. When he was plucked out of the Mud Kingdom to be a Dragonet of Destiny, he developed a friendship with Flame. Ochre found him very interesting due to how Flame had no shame in expressing his emotions. Fatespeaker was also interesting too, but he found her overwhelming due to her incessant talking. He mostly stayed in the background and remained as quiet and invisible as possible. Flame grew a liking to him because he was a good listener and he was quiet compared to the other false dragonets. This was Ochre’s only friend. His friendship with Flame helped him get out of his shell. They would often joke about how much they hated being here and how much they hated their lives. They enjoyed dark humor. When Flame gets injured, it shook Ochre to the core, making him freeze and shut down. He fell into a deeper depression and eats until he pukes. Seeing his Flame’s wound and hearing his agonized screams traumatized him badly.
Ochre stays with the Talons of Peace but later leaves, realizing this wasn’t the life he wanted. Feeling very alone and lost in the world. He finds out that Flame is in the Rainwing Kingdom being treated for his wound given to him by Viper. He awkwardly walks into the healer hut which makes Flame thrilled to see him again. Ochre begins to cry seeing his friend again, something he’s never done before in front of other dragons. He even begins to make a friendship with Fatespeaker after learning about how she’s responsible for saving his life.
He stays in the Rainwing Kingdom, mesmerized by all of their wildly colorful and unique fruits. He goes to many different restaurants and loves the food the Rainwings make. Wanting to learn to make meals like this, he gains an apprenticeship under a Rainwing chef. He thrives at his job, and even creates his own meals to be added to the menu. He felt like he finally had a place in the world.
He later gets enrolled into the Dragonets of Destiny’s’ academy, to learn about culinary all around Phyrrhia. He gets to see Flame every day due to him and Fatespeaker being the academy healers.

This is the color palette I used for him!
I finally got the last book of wings of fire, and it really made me think about them all the time. I've been rereading the whole series again. I had to draw them to get the brain rot out lol
I really just drew how I picture them (w/the end of the books injuries/adornments)

I just loved the cover art of Clay, where his back scales were grey like stoneware clay. And the description of him having underscales that shined amber/gold in sunlight was fantastic. Just love this goofy boy!

I adored the cover art of Tsunami, how fun all of the diffrent blues were. How powerful she looked! With her glowing scales being so cool. And the royal whirls was such a cool idea to me. I really liked how she wasn't always just blue, how she'd have a few descriptions with some green. I felt like that was fun! Love fierce Tsunami.

I loved the idea of rainwings so much. And I adored the colors of Glory's cover so much. Whenever I was reading the books, I couldn't help but picture Glory with more colors that what she just showed, though. Always loved strong, strong Glory.
And that's about it for now

A collection of my attacks and revenges from the 2021 Art Fight, excluding a sketch one that didn’t really have much effort put into it. I was on Team Cyberpunk. I have a little regret for disappearing a good majority of the event in the middle because I was dealing with a vacation, then a post-vacation depression, and then just avoiding most social medias.
Decided to make a new ref sheet of my mudwing OC Dante. He likes to take walks through the forest and hunt for food and he’s also Clay’s son. I adopted him from cheese_grateruwu on Instagram a few months ago. Base by r-adicool on Deviantart, colored in by me. Ref sheet on the right by cheese_grateruwu on Instagram.

Doodle ur fav looking design or your fav design 2 draw of your ocs

Of all my OCs that have up-to-date designs (only really five or six as of now), my favorite design is definitely this guy. His name is Topaz, and he's the king/ruler of the Mudwings alongside his wife, Lily. I'm not entirely sure why, but I absolutely love his little spots.
