Happy (late) Halloween!

Ok so I know Halloween was yesterday but I forgot I had these in my sketchbook for a month, also because these two in Barbie and Ken costumes makes sense in my peanut sized brain

Hello hi here’s a headcanon(pretty much California focused)

California has asthma really bad lungs 1) bc of wildfires 2) bc of smog(San Bernardino had some of the worst smog of any county in the states)

Also he likes doing outdoorsy stuff like hiking, running, surfing, snorkeling, etc. . He just likes to be outside(golden retriever energy tbh)

Speaking of running I also think he started a running group with Massachusetts and their most frequent members are Colorado and DC

He likes to try new things and start new projects but he loses interest pretty easily so he has a lot of “hobbies” that he says he’s gonna get back into but chances are he won’t

Unexpectedly i enjoyed drawing these three together, and it was the first time i drew both NY and NJ ever (based NY a lil off your design and NJ off the two only people i know from there, Danny Williams from Hawai’i five-0 and Softwilly from hit channel Isaacwhy 😭😭😭)

Ignore the fact that i disappeared (again) for 3 weeks, it was the end of the 1st semester and i was drowned in tests but im back!!! (dw tho i finished with the highest grades in my class 😈)

Ayyyy im back again!!! For the past 2 Months or so school was hard, but now im like 2 days away from summer break so i can back to drawing silly states yay

These doodles (although very lazy, sorry) were inspired by (and have direct quotes from) @flarefoxxx ‘s amazing fanfic “Workplace crush”, cuz Gov/Greg has been making my brain rot for these months that I’ve been inactive and i just needed to draw something with these two (and so help me god i will combust if someone makes a fanfic of these two getting together) 😼

Important to mention that the designs that i do for the states may change a lot throughout every drawing of mine as im gonna study anatomy AND do some research about each state during the summer to try to find out kore about them

(And please if you want to ask me to draw something pls dont be afraid to drop it in my ask box, i have almost 0 ideas of what to draw 😿)

Just want to come on here and say, I’m a multi shipper and love to see all the different dynamics of the wttt states, but I always go back to Texas/California

And the main reason I ship TexaCali so hard is because of something my best friend who’s from Texas once said… AND I QUOTE:

Taking a break from my project to draw California. I wanted to put in a little more detail than usual, but I don't know how I feel about this.

I was too tired to draw the dozens of poppies on his right arm, so I just didn't! I headcannon that he got them in small bunches over the years from many different artists every time he passed by a tattoo shop and didn't have anything better to do (which was pretty often). They're all unique to the artists' personal styles. That being said, it's a pain to draw.

The flowers visible in the film rolls are Roses, Orange Blossoms, Hibiscus, and Forget-me-nots. That's the Sierra Nevada mountain range + a hot air balloon and a star for Hollywood. (There are more flowers in the film panels. They just aren't visible).

Cali's joke last episode has manifested into reality. Meanwhile Florida mixes up Stanley Cup with a Stanley Cup.

reverse Florida man in socal, Californian in Florida. California wants to know why it’s so fucking wet, Florida keeps asking if he’s a piece of beef jerky bc of all the dehumidifiers.

Rn I’ve been really into TexaCali bc I’m basic lol. I love me a repressed cowboy and I want to study both of these absolute disasters! Texas and Cali are both horse girls btw & I like to imagine they go on little horse adventures like in the old days. I like how people write/characterize these two in such a way where they balance each other out it’s VERY interesting to me heheh!

I also am finding myself kind of partial to Vermont/New Hampshire as well. They give off MAD married for tax purposes vibes idk. Coming from someone from New England, Vermont and New Hampshire really don’t hate each other as much as it’s joked mainly bc people go back and forth through each state a ton, so I like to headcanon that at some point their old rivalry ended when they actually TALKED to each other alone for once and realized they really weren’t that salty and now they fight as a bit just to keep gov on edge.

There’s so many more, and even just singular characters or platonic pairings I could write a whole thesis on, but hopefully that’s good for now!

I stand firm on the idea that most of the 60s & 70s none of the states or Gov actually knew where California was. They're still piecing things together from random comments he makes; they got a timeline built on namedropping now-infamous cults, randomly mentioning hitchhiking to xyz place in xyz year, bringing up marches/protests he was at, and saying things like "the best sleep I've EVER had was the first night back in my own bed after Woodstock '69, that was the fattest nap". They know they could probably ask, but the cork board covered in red string and speculating is more fun.
