If You Don't Think Men Can Experience This Horror As Well, You're Demented.
If you don't think men can experience this horror as well, you're demented.
Just an experiment. Reblog if you actually give a fuck about male victims of domestic violence and rape.
Of fucking course
What sick bastard doesn’t

I. HATE. This. Mentality.
NOT EVERYONE HATES THEIR BODY AS IS.
NOT EVERYONE WANTS TO LOSE WEIGHT.
Can we denormalize congratulating people for loss of weight without even ASKING if the weight loss was intentional? Can we denormalize commenting on others' bodies in general? IM SO SICK OF IT.
Crazy I saw this post... my teacher and I were chatting after class today. She asked mid conversation if she could make a comment about my appearance. I told her that was fine and she proceeded to say "I've noticed this year you've gotten leaner" and then waited for my reaction. I responded "Yeah! I was trying to lose about 30 pounds, I achieved it." THEN my teacher gave her thoughts about it.
If you're going to talk about others' bodies, this is how it should be done. First, be sure they're comfortable hearing the comment or having the conversation in general. Then make a NEUTRAL observation on the loss of weight and see their reaction. Determine whether it's a positive or negative development in their life first. Always.
You never know when you could be fueling the fires of an eating disorder when you were just trying to give a compliment.
I once lost about ten pounds from sickness. When I went to tell my aunt the bad news, I didn't get past the first sentence before she congratulated me. I had to inform her that I lost the weight because I couldn't stop throwing up.
Thin privilege is assuming weight loss is a universally good thing.

Can we talk more about the transitional phase between normie and alternative? Because we all did some corny shiz back then. Very poser behavior. And I think we all need to talk about it. Cleanse our souls.
I feel like the "I call myself emo but I don't even understand what that means" starter pack is a tattoo choker, a pair of black plain cross earrings and a band tee for a wildly popular rock band that isn't even really emo like AC/DC or Misfits or something. Or that Nirvana t-shirt, you know the one I'm talking about. If I see that shirt one more time, I'm gonna puke.
It's like you looked around Walmart for anything at all black so you could fit in with the edgy kids at school. It's like those "emo transformation" TikToks but... but this isn't a game to you, this is normal Tuesday behavior. Who is three or four years deep into alt culture and still wearing this outfit? Cuz I wore this outfit when I was probably thirteen... for about a year... never again. Also had a leather jacket that you could not peel off my body. I ran that thing into the ground.
Don't even get me started on how we all labeled everything "emo" that clearly was not- especially music. Who was gonna tell us emo was not a synonym for edgy and sad?
Anyways, I ended up donating those cross earrings to a nearby blossoming baby bat and burned the tattoo chokers a LOOONG time ago. They no longer have power over me. I'm a free woman.
Got any funny baby bat/puppy punk/poser days stories or thoughts? I need this.
I was in highschool during the start of the scene kids days. A Day to Remember, Suicide Silence, BVB, FIR, all that shit. I was DEFINITELY poser-looking because my folks were hardcore religious and had to be sneaky about my appearance. Sucked that it was hard to make friends because, understandably, I 1000% came off as a poser but it was sort of fun to blindside them with my music knowledge. By the time I graduated and moved out my taste had evolved to proper metal and went full on metalhead now that I had control of my appearance. Almost immediately had people from my highschool trying to call me out as a poser or some had said "wow I never knew you were into that" haha. Trying to find your way in highschool is a rough fuckin ride.
Amen... and don't even get me started on middleschool... how did we even survive that???? Lol.
Thanks for sharing!
