Ah, yes. Here we go again with our two space-heroes.
I love how when Anakin murders someone in cold blood, Obi-Wan reacts the same way one would react to a dog peeing on the carpet
Every time Anakin murders someone in cold blood there are EXACTLY two responses Obi-Wan has and they are EXACTLY the same ones I’ve had when my cat (or dog) have peed on the carpet.- I JUST CLEANED THE CARPET FROM THE LAST TIME YOU PEED ON IT

OR- “Oh, Anakin.” with the heavy sigh of someone who has given up this particular fight and knows the cat doesn’t know any better/is just that that’s what cats do when they’re stressed.IT’S NOT ANAKIN’S FAULT, HE’S JUST DEALING WITH A LOT OF STRESS.

I love how the Obi-Wan Kenobi series cast listing tells us basically nothing about the story that we didn’t already know, except to confirm that Owen (and probably Beru) are going to be in it. We already knew Obi-Wan was going to be in it. We already knew Anakin was going to be there. We already knew it was going to have a cast full of people. It’s not like they’d put Temuera on the list, if they’re trying to keep his role a surprise, so that could still go either way. It confirms some casting rumors, but that doesn’t tell us much of anything about the story. Hayden being the second picture could mean Anakin is very prominently part of the story, it could just mean that he’s the other prequels movies actor and thus more prominent in promotion. It could all mean anything and tells us absolutely nothing about the story! AND YET I AM LOSING MY MIND ANYWAY.

"Petra Ral is not 19 or a minor you guys just received fake information from antis."
I didn't want to make this kind of post again because I've talked about this time and time again but recently one of my FAVOURITE artists that draw SNK just completely broke my heart by not only hating on the rivetra ship, leaving mean comments and even spreading false info like the other rivetra antis and I just needed to say this.
PETRA RAL IS NOT 19 OR A MINOR.
Don't you even DARE compare kind rivetra shippers to people like ereri's or actual pedophiles when you don't have ANY proof.
Here's mine actually. People keep saying Petra's official age is "19" or "16" is that so? Where does that say on her OFFICIAL wiki?

Hmmm.. I wonder where it says...oh wait..!
IT'S NEVER BEEN CONFIRMED.
Don't go around saying false stuff online and calling people pedophiles when you don't have any damn proof of it. And NOW let's focus on this!

Hey Google what does "woman" mean?

An ADULT female human.
Just because Petra's father said that she was "too young" to marry—newsflash! Being in your mid or early 20's STILL makes you young. But that doesn't mean you aren't an adult!
Even in Petra's CHARACTER DESIGN PAGE they refer to her as a woman. Petra refers to Eren as a child, you'd think that if she was a minor ELD or anyone would tell her something like "Rich coming from you since you're also a kid." or something along the lines of that don't you think? More importantly why would Hajime Isayama create a minor character in love with a 30 year old? Don't you guys think the best of the author and not expect him to portray a female character creepily?
Let's take a SNK character who was a minor. Mina Carolina.
Look what she's referred as.

Hm, oh, yeah, Google what does young mean?

Mina's age was never said or confirmed but she was a YOUNG SOLDIER. in the 104th AKA being the same age as Mikasa, Eren and Armin! And if Petra was 16 she would be in the 104th too! Antis can't think logically for one second can they? So why do people take their word for it when it's not true at all?
And before you bring up that "Oluo is 19!" no he's fucking not. His age has never been confirmed. But due to his old appearance we can safely say that he is an adult.
And don't even start with the "Levi is 40598483838292" Levi's official age has been confirmed. He was in his early thirties in the year 850 and became 35 in 854. Petra IS an adult, and if she were to be 25/26/27 her being with LEVI IS FINE BECAUSE THEY'RE BOTH ADULTS.
In the year 850 Levi was in his early thirties, meaning that he was 31 or 33. Petra is an adult so we can say that she was 26 There's nothing wrong with her being with Levi. And in season 4 Levi becomes 35. If Petra were to be in the year 854 Petra would be 30! NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT.
I've seen a woman be 27 but date a 34 year old guy, there's an age gap YES but that's NOTHING illegal. I mean come on. Grow up.
![[Jedi Knights] Do Not Grow Attachments, Because Attachment Is A Path To The Dark Side. You Can Love People,](https://64.media.tumblr.com/3764385f3043258fb17fadc54005bd5d/44822f825f88319b-6a/s500x750/ad8bd81bb39ad4e4f7dbaf39bfff88bafb77b7d0.png)
[Jedi Knights] do not grow attachments, because attachment is a path to the dark side. You can love people, but you can’t want to possess them. They’re not yours. Accept that they have a fate. Even those you love most are going to die. You can’t do anything about that. Protect them with your lightsaber, but if they die they were going to die, there’s nothing you can do. All you can do is accept that fact.
In mythology, if you go to Hades to get them back you’re not doing it for them, you’re doing it for yourself. You’re doing it because you don’t want to give them up. You’re afraid to be without them. The key to the dark side is fear. You must be clean of fear, and fear of loss is the greatest fear. If you’re set up for fear of loss, you will do anything to keep that loss from happening, and you’re going to end up in the dark side. That’s the basic premise of Star Wars and the Jedi, and how it works.
That’s why they’re taken at a young age to be trained. They cannot get themselves killed trying to save their best buddy when it’s a hopeless exercise.
— George Lucas

The sketchbook
A friend send me a fancomic of this and i died, i needed to redraw it but in color
(The original idea is not mine)
Exactly!

sometimes I wonder where people get this idea that qui-gon and the council actual hated each other just cause they disagreed on stuff
How dare you make me sad like this?!😭😭

some angst oh?
Good evening I am thinking about Jedi.
I'm thinking about Cal Kestis and Cere and Ezra and Kanan and Ahsoka and the couple dozen other Jedi who likely survived into the empire and took padawans or protected force sensitive children.
I'm thinking about rogue Jedi on the outskirts of the rebellion fully aware of the good they could do while knowing the sheer hell that might be unleashed on the rebels they meant to help if the empire discovers that they harbored Jedi.
I'm thinking about these people who can feel emotions who want desperately to help and knowing that, for the sake of these rebels they cannot. That the best help they can give is to remain apart.
I'm thinking about Jedi who never knew anything but running from the empire. Who can't remember a time when being the way that they were wasn't a death sentence.
I'm thinking about Luke being told he is the last of the Jedi. About Luke sitting alone and feeling the weight of the universe settling on his shoulders thinking "I'm all there is." and how can one man, even one man with the rebellion and his sister to help him, protect every force sensitive child in the galaxy. Because Leia told him about the inquisitors and how can he ensure that never happens again.
I'm thinking about Luke slowly getting word out about a school, about a new Jedi order, about a safe place for force sensitives. A new home.
I'm thinking about the survivors hearing about it and refusing to believe it for weeks - months - even years. The empire has done this before. And how can they be sure the empire is dead, that the new republic rising in its place will be any different.
I'm thinking about Luke and Leia and Han making a home for street children and those who were shunned or abandoned or abused because they were different, because towns, families and planets quickly realized that to be force sensitive under the empire was to bring the wrath of the emperor down on you.
I'm thinking about Ahsoka stepping into this new Jedi school and having to steady herself against the walls because this place is alive and she can feel a dozens of little stars already present, presided over by twin suns. Its almost too much after so long.
I'm thinking about ragged freedom fighters who have long abandoned hope of ever being with anyone who understands being welcomed warmly by a man who's force signature is warm and steady and kind and feeling his grief and realizing suddenly that their own is bearable again.
I'm thinking about Cal nearly falling to his knees when he sets foot in the courtyard because he feels Safe here and it's been so long. He's been running for his life for almost 3 decades but this place is Safe and he's almost afraid to come any closer because what if he ruins it.
I'm thinking about the Jedi who gave up the title because all it brought was pain, breaking down when they see the children safe and happy, hovering small stones in the air.
I'm thinking about Ezra making his way back from wild space to find the empire defeated and to find Jedi. Not just Ahsoka but a new order and as Ezra finds his rebel family, and connects with the jedi he realizes just how large his found family has become.
I'm thinking about Luke realizing he is not the last. Not truly. He opens his home and his table and the boy from Tattooine. The one who longed for more as he watched his friends leave his desert town one by one - he is never lonely.
I'm thinking about Leia finding comfort among the survivors who know what the gaping nothing in the force feels like when you watch everything you ever loved destroyed before your eyes. How she protects this place and these people even as she remains part of the new republic.
I'm thinking about the new Jedi growing up with the survivors. About the new order built on the creed of empathy, justice, and love like the one that came before.
And I'm thinking about these psychic space wizards who can feel each other's pain, who could bring star destroyers to their knees if they lost control. I'm thinking about the Jedi finding each other in the ruins of what could have been, in the smoking rubble of the empire and saying "You're alive too? I thought I was the only one."
I’ve recently seen some misinterpretations regarding this scene so I wanted to share my thoughts.

The criticism, which I personally find so unfair and wrong considering Levi’s character arc in the final battle mostly revolves around: “Levi didn’t even care about leaving the kids behind to the point he ordered Mikasa, Pieck and Falco to depart without any final/farewell words to Jean, Connie, etc” or “I knew it!!! Levi only cared about killing Zeke post-time skip. It was obvious he’s gonna have NO motivation to fight”
I’m going to explain both claims from my own perspective.
1) About the first one, I think it is important to remember Levi’s rational motivation in such critical moment. So the situation is as the following >>> The alliance figuring out the steam released from the hallucigenia is poisonous just like Zeke’s spinal fluids and as many pointed out the reason there was suspect of them turning into titans came from the fact hallucigenia is the source of the titan power so it only makes sense for Levi to believe the Eldians exposed to the steam would transform immediately after. Did they have time to process the situation? No. Did they even have time to say goodbye? Hell no! It only took Levi, Mikasa, Falco & Pieck a few minutes before their comrades/families were titanized. There was absolutely no time for hesitation and as I’ve seen some people pointed this out Levi was the only one who thought rationally and was able to make such cruel decision in that moment. Was it painful for him? Of course it was! Was it hard for him to leave his comrades behind once again without even being able to say goodbye? SURE IT WAS!

Is this the face of a person who doesn’t care about leaving his family? I’m gonna leave the obvious answer to you guys.
Now let’s get back to even the more logical part. You gotta ask yourself why Levi decided what he did. Had Levi, Mikasa, Falco & Pieck aka the last hopes of humanity’s survival been caught in a horde of titans and eaten then who were going to defeat Eren? Marleyans who didn’t even have enough cannons to face Eren (oh well the cannons had no effect on the founding titan either way) or Armin was supposed to take him down single-handedly? Think about it, who else but all these people together could kill Eren?
It’s also worth mentioning what Levi tells Mikasa right after they had to abandon their comrades and people

“We’re the only ones that can kill Eren”
I think this part’s even more proof of Levi’s rational decision. Do I not love Jean and Connie? Of course I do. I’m not gonna lie, I’m still in denial about what happened to them and I’m hoping there’s a way they’ll revert back to being humans and if they really die I personally will find their deaths meaningless at this point of the story. However, I understand that they had no time for emotional talk. They had to defeat Eren and end this nightmare as soon as possible.
2) Now regarding the second claim, I think there are already many great meta writers who pointed out the obvious but I’m just gonna leave some panels and notes to emphasize how much such criticism about Levi’s not but a misinterpretation.
Let’s get back to chapter 135 where Levi literally told Mikasa he will act as bait in order for them to defeat the titans the founder Ymir sent their way

He knew Zeke’s still alive somewhere from Hanji’s words so if he only cared about killing him why would he try to sacrifice his life for the kids to proceed with their plans before taking down the monke?
Levi risking his life to save Jean’s in the same chapter right after the above panel

“Levi’s all about killing Zeke at this point. He doesn’t care about his kids any longer” is what the criticism says. I don’t think I need to explain this further because the panel is proof enough how much he cares for his kids.
Right after saving Jean Levi’s injuries worsen but he still continues fighting to protect them

The reason for his leg injury is saving Connie

And lastly, about him caring for humanity

“We’re doing both”
Levi’s the first person who actually said they have to kill Eren and save Armin among the corps. If he only cared about killing Zeke why would he suggest they have to consider both options? Why would he repeat himself in the very recent chapter again (about killing Eren) in order to end this nightmare? As I’ve said many times before Levi could’ve killed Zeke and fulfilled his promise a long time ago but he prevented himself from doing so because he assumed keeping Zeke alive was the best option for saving humanity.
Bottom line Levi’s promise to Erwin was never even about mere revenge. The man said it himself, “I will give meaning to your deaths” and he’s only able to do that through saving humanity. I’m not saying he didn’t hate Zeke considering all the suffering Zeke brought to Levi’s comrades. However, it is important to remember Levi was always ready to give up on killing him if his existence benefitted humanity. Killing Zeke wasn’t his sole purpose in life as some like to put it.

Obi-Wan Kenobi held thirteen years between his fingers.
The weight of it was feather light, but the burden on his shoulders made his chest heavy and his breaths short. As much as it weighed on him, however, it seemed impossible to let go of.
His thumb rubbed it, absentmindedly, smoothing over the surface of it, feeling the texture and the occasional curve of a silka bead or the tightly wound thread. Yes, each of which was placed there with care, accompanied by the words of wisdom and pride. Each one special, signifying his growth, his maturity.
Why, then, did he feel like that twelve-year-old again? The one now separated from him, and held within his fingers? Every memory and struggle, every moment he had lived as a Padawan was there, in his hand.
The funeral service would not begin for another hour. He had been there for two, standing vigil, feeling it was his duty. He felt it may make up for every lost second spent apart from his Master’s side. Every time he should have been at Qui-Gon’s side. And every time, from now forward, when he would no longer be.

Me: The prequel trilogy is about Palpatine manipulating the entire Republic so he can get more and more power. He started a war to get emergency powers and in the endgame, told Anakin who he was so the Jedi would confront him and become "traitors" so he could order a genocide against them and crown himself emperor. The Jedi did everything they could and it would never be enough, because they were playing blindfolded in a game of 4D chess and Palpatine had a headstart of a few decades.

Anakin knows what he’s doing is wrong...
Whenever I read people using the idea that “from Anakin’s point of view the Jedi are evil” as the ultimate proof that he felt bullied by them, I roll my eyes. Anakin is intelligent enough to know when he’s wrong.

He doesn’t really think the Jedi are evil, he’s lying to himself, he bought his own con.
Anakin was a good kid to begin with, and with the Jedi training he became a great man. If you look at things objectively, Anakin is 90% of a great Jedi. He’s seemingly learned all the rules, and is wise enough to teach them to others:
Be it by telling Ahsoka that she needs to follow the rules, she can’t just go around and do whatever she feels like, it’ll lead to trouble…

… by encouraging his Padawan not to be too hard on herself…

… or be it by encouraging rational thought over hotheadedness.

In that last image, Anakin is Anakin telling Ahsoka and Rex to stop letting their emotions do the thinking and act logically. He’s telling them to be prudent.
Hell, he even believes that patience is a virtue.

Anakin is a trained Jedi Knight. He has the theoretical know-how to get out of his problems, in ROTS.
In fact, a lot of people forget this, but Anakin’s first instinct, upon finding out Palpatine is, in fact, Darth Sidious, is this:

The Jedi are Anakin’s family. If Palpatine is asking Anakin to choose between the Chancellor and the Jedi, he’ll choose the Jedi every damn time (which is why Palpatine makes Anakin choose between the Jedi and Padmé, instead).
So where’s the problem?
That last 10% of what makes a great Jedi. Introspection, self-control.
Despite being wise, clever and thinking rationally - Anakin has trouble applying those lessons to himself.
When it comes to his own personal problems, he’s hard on himself, he’s impatient, he breaks the rules and acts out of emotion instead of thinking things through.
As Obi-Wan puts it:

As a result of this flaw, Anakin keeps choosing the wrong path, despite knowing that it’s the wrong path. The Force puts a lot of tests in front of him, and he keeps choosing the easy way out, rather than the more difficult but ultimately satisfying path.
His mother was killed. He can choose to genocide a whole Tusken village, or be the better man and just walk away. He kills the Tuskens.
Dooku is unarmed and helpless. Anakin can either kill him in a rage, out of revenge, or he can capture him, bring him to justice, and potentially discover the identity of the second Sith Lord. He kills Dooku.
Windu is also helpless (his hand was just cut off by Anakin) and Palpatine is killing him. Mace is helpless. Anakin can either choose to save Windu and arrest Palpatine (who just revealed that he wasn’t “too weak” after all), or he can let Windu die. He lets Windu die.
Padmé tells him that this isn’t what she wants. He can actually listen to her wishes. Or he can go on a maniacal rant about having ultimate power, ignoring her own opinions completely. He goes on a rant, drunk with power. Then chokes her.
Obi-Wan tells him to stop, tries to reason with him: Chancellor Palpatine is evil. Anakin knows this. He can stop lying to himself and accept his mistakes, ending the fight. Or he can give Obi-Wan his two-cent rationalization about the Jedi being evil (which he doesn’t even really believe in), and keep trying to kill Obi-Wan. He keeps trying to kill Obi-Wan.
The more the War goes on, the more it gets easy for Anakin to take the easy path, over and over. But he knows it’s the wrong thing to do.
George Lucas said this to Hayden Christensen, behind the scenes of ROTS:
“There’s always this good in you, at this point. The good part is saying, ‘What am I doing?’ And the bad part is saying, ‘I’m doing this for Padme. I’m doing this for us, and it’ll be better for the universe. It’ll be better for everybody.’ But there’s always this little part of you saying, ‘What am I doing?? That’s your rationalization for everything you’ve done.’”
Anakin tells himself that he’s doing this for Padmé, he’s doing this because the Jedi betrayed him, blabla. Truth is? He’s just really really scared.
There’s this incredible moment in Darth Vader: Lord of the Sith #5.
Vader has taken the lightsaber off a Jedi, and now he has to corrupt the saber’s crystal to get his red blade.
The crystal, and by extension, the Force, showed him a vision, a path where he turned to the Light, defeated the Emperor and put an end to his suffering. A path of redemption. This was his reaction:

Vader refuses to take the hard path and chooses the easy path instead, once again. He rejects the Light and hangs on to the pain… because deep down… below the “they betrayed me” bullshit he keeps telling himself… he knows he deserves it, because he did the wrong thing.
Anakin knows he’s wrong and he’s still goes forward with doing the wrong thing, no matter what test the Force keeps throwing his way.
And that’s why his sacrifice in Return of the Jedi is so impactful. He finally does the right thing, he accepts that it’ll be hard, that he’ll die if he saves Luke… he doesn’t care. Luke loves him, like Padmé did. He failed once. He won’t fail again.
I’m gonna conclude this with some words from George Lucas:
“It really has to do with learning. Children teach you compassion. They teach you to love unconditionally. Anakin can’t be redeemed for all the pain and suffering he’s caused. He doesn’t right the wrongs, but he stops the horror. The end of the Saga is simply Anakin saying: ‘I care about this person, regardless of what it means to me. I will throw away everything that I have, everything that I have grown to love - primarily the Emperor - and throw away my life, to save this person. And I’m doing this because he has faith in me, loves me despite all the horrible things I’ve done. I broke his mother’s heart, but he still cares about me, and I can’t let that die’.”
