my chest hurts when i see artists having to clarify that their art isn’t AI generated and show multiple speedpaints, and students struggling to prove the legitimacy of an essay THEY wrote which was deemed AI generated by that godforsaken AI checker which ALSO an AI.

Ai really shouldn't replace anything in my opinion. Everyone enjoys something and if you replace that hobby or job with ai it just ruins the little pieces of our lives that prove we're human.
reminder that being against ai also means being against character.ai and not using character.ai and not interacting with character.ai
i've never talked to chatgpt i've never talked to character.ai i have no interest in talking to a chatbot even if it's fun or based on my comfort character. if we want companies to stop using ai we need to tell them we aren't going to interact with it - so don't.

i use ai sometimes, my friends use ai sometimes, because of it my oc is the way she is, because of it i could finish my finals this year, because i used my oc in the context that ai suggested me. because of it my dm doesn't need to ask someone to draw complicated background for a price of one donut, did he steal your job? would you draw for him with short af deadline and dozens of corrections along the way? but, to be honest, he asks players (some of us are artists too) to draw NPCs and our player characters.
also, big one here "ai is stealing my art" I'm sorry STEALING? ok, fine, show me which artwork of yours was STOLEN in which ai generated one?
if someone would use your artwork as reference, resulting in art piece that's nothing like yours, it would be called inspiration, but ai isn't allowed to use it for, basically, the same?
i use ai for inspiration too, does it mean that i steal your work?
it's people that claim to draw these things themselves, it's people that claim that ai "art" will replace human art, it's people that use ai with no thoughts about real artists, it's people that steal from you...
the fact that you don't support it won't change the fact, that it already entered our lives and won't leave

farmers didn't stop tractors in 19th
they became synonymous with them, sure, some don't use them, but it doesn't mean that they want every machine dead

you guys have to stop generating and sharing AI videos of byler kissing. the technology behind that is extremely exploitative and you are enabling it. but if that somehow isn’t enough of a reason to stop, it’s also making you look like you are coping. just wait for s5 or create (human-made non AI generated) art/fics in the meantime.
