Americans - Tumblr Posts

I'm so used to seeing Americans only in movies and shows that the fact that they exist in real life feels almost unreal. I went to Keoladeo National Park a few months ago and got whiplash when I heard an American tourist speak

yall have got to be more normal about Southern people and I'm not kidding. enough of the Sweet Home Alabama incest jokes, enough of the idea that all Southerners are bigots and rednecks, and enough of the idea that the South has bad food. shut up about "trailer trash" and our accents and our hobbies!

do yall know how fucking nauseating it is to hear people only bring up my state to make jokes about people in poverty and incestuous relationships? how much shame I feel that I wasn't born up north like the Good Queers and Good Leftists with all the Civilised Folk with actual houses instead of small cramped trailers that have paper thin walls that I know won't protect me in a bad enough storm?

do yall know how frustrating it is to be trans in a place that wants to kill you and whenever you bring it up to people they say "well just move out" instead of sympathizing with you or offering help?

do yall understand how alienating it is to see huge masterposts of queer and mental health resources but none of them are in your state because theyre all up north? and nobody seems to want to fix this glaring issue because "they're all hicks anyways"

Southern people deserve better. we deserve to be taken seriously and given a voice in the queer community and the mental health space and leftist talks in general.

That’s actually true; we are nomadic as a species. Indeed, about 2 out of 5 people in my lands of Mongolia continue to live nomadic ways, but even though people in my homelands are generally unaware of foreign ongoings beyond our neighbors of China (although we don't learn about their history in school), Russia, & Central Asia, Americans in particular make them & others seem more capable of outward awakening. Travel should help lead them to us or even the main groups within. Bayarlala.

Do you feel that many mainland (at least the inlanders) Americans should learn more about the outside world in light of the genuine problems they faced for the last couple of decades?

Well… Ya, we mean… we think part of being a cultured, intelligent and constructive individual in this modern age, regardless of whatever nationality, ethnicity or culture hails from is being in touch with as much of a cosmopolitan nature as one can possibly get away with. Granted traveling can be rather expensive or possibly forced and highly physically taxing in some cases and that sort of thing we understand but at the same time it is equally important that people are shown and immersed in other cultures, nationalities and ethnicities if they are live life to its fullest.

It has been said that showing anger is sometimes important in Anglo-Saxon culture, especially for men. Breaking things, throwing a coffee cup. I understand the behavior is necessary to show who they are and what they think. American culture is like “a salad bowl”, Anglo-Saxon culture is a part of it, but big influence. The difference between American Anglo-Saxon culture and English culture will be that Americans tend to exaggerate including emotions.

Once Japanese male students in the U.S. told me they were not attractive to American ladies because they are not used to show their emotions. They said it's not charming to Americans.

The article argues that the way to show anger now takes certain forms with bad consequences.

Last year summer, I had watched Fox news in order to be fair. The day, BLM protesters clashed with police. The scene was shown on Fox News. The host said the protesters are "disgusting". The host was Tucker Carlson if my memory is correct. Rather he tried to tell audiences what happened on the street or what protesters thought, he tried to direct the audience's aggression toward them. I stopped watching it.

[edited]The difference between the UK and the U.S. is added for clarity.

The real reason Americans are so damn angry all the time
Mother Jones
We are at war with ourselves, but not for the reasons you think.

Americans sure are angry these days. Everyone says so, so it must be true.

But who or what are we angry at? Pandemic stresses aside, I’d bet you’re not especially angry at your family. Or your friends. Or your priest or your plumber or your postal carrier. Or even your boss.

Unless, of course, the conversation turns to politics. That’s when we start shouting at each other. We are way, way angrier about politics than we used to be, something confirmed by both common experience and formal research.

Praying for their family’s safety ❤️ No child or animal or ANYONE should go through what the Palestinians are going through. Boycott, donate, spread information, and call reps demanding a ceasefire.
