Red String of Fate

Sakusa Kiyoomi x GN! Reader

Genre: Angst and fluff

Warnings: none

not beta-read. also English isn't my first language so I'm sorry for the grammatical errors. constructive criticism is accepted.

Red String Of Fate

Kiyoomi twisted and turned in his bed, not able to sleep. He finally gave up and brought his hand towards his face. The moonlight that escaped through his curtains fell on his hand. A faint red glow was emitted by the String around his pinky.

He let out a deep breath and sat up, back resting against the headboard. He was wide awake and was sure that he won't be able to sleep even if he tried. Kiyoomi wondered if you were already asleep and waiting for him.

His mind wandered back to the day-night, actually- he first met you. It was in his dreams. He was surprised to see a complete stranger in his dreams. He usually dreamed about the events which had happened the day before.

He didn't think you were special or beautiful or anything. You were just an ordinary teenager who, somehow, had appeared in his dream.

Then, Kiyoomi saw it. The Red String that connected the two. Surprise would be an understatement to describe how Kiyoomi felt. He'd heard from his father, as a child, that the String connected soulmates. And, that he, with the help of the String, had found Kiyoomi's mother.

You had approached him with a smile, and stood a safe distance away from him.

"So, you are my soulmate, Sakusa Kiyoomi," you had said with a fond smile.

"How do you know my name?" asked him, straightforward as ever.

"Why, you're my favorite character." You had then proceeded to explain how he was a character in a show you loved. Kiyoomi had scoffed, not believing a single word that left your mouth.

He only believed you when the dreams started getting repetitive, and when he saw the String glowing brighter when he was near you.

When he fell in love with you, he didn't know. But he knew it was not sudden. It was slow and gradual and increased with every word exchanged between the two, every laugh from your side and every not-so-subtle snort from his.

Oh, but the universe was cruel, very cruel.

The two of you, separated by dimensions, could only meet in dreams. You could not travel to his world and nor could he travel to yours. The dreams, sometimes, were short and ended abruptly. The most he could do was hold your hand. He remembered wanting to hug you when you were upset after a bad day. But he had passed right through you like you were nothing but a mere projection. For someone who was disgusted by physical contact, Kiyoomi wished for nothing more than to hug you and kiss you.

"It's alright, Kiyoomi," you had said. "I'm happy for having you as my soulmate. There's nothing more I want."

You had smiled, but he could hear the sadness tinting your voice, the unshed tears in your eyes. And when he had woken up from his dream, he had cursed at the universe, at whatever being that had decided this. He cried, even, until he was sure he had no tears left.

Somewhere along the way, he had accepted his fate. And he was sure you had too. You both had no say in this and decided to make the most of what little you had.

After all, how could he keep complaining when he saw glimpses of you in his mirror. When he felt happy for no reason and when his hand felt warm, like he was holding hands. He knew that it was you. And he also knew that you caught glimpses of him. Felt his hand wrapped around yours.

Kiyoomi wished for nothing more. He was happy with you, and you with him. Though being separated by dimensions, your hearts beat for each other. He may not be able to be with you in this life, but he was sure, so damn sure, that he will find you in the next one, the one after that and all the other lives he was destined to live. For, the Red String of Fate, connecting two souls, was permanent.

Mending A Broken Heart

Jean Kirstein x Mikasa Ackerman

Genre: Angst and fluff

Warnings: MAJOR MANGA SPOILERS!! prolly a few curse words

this is for my fellow jeankasa shippers. idc if the ship was not made canon but to me they fell in love got married and lived happily ever after. and i also wanted to see mikasa move on and not just stuck on eren you know? anyways hope you like this!!! :D

Mending A Broken Heart

Jean checked himself in the mirror for the nth time. He searched for any hair out of place, looked for boogers, checked if he had anything stuck between his teeth and made sure his breath didn't stink. He had to make a good first impression. Well, technically, not a first impression but... whatever.

"Yo Horseface! How long are you gonna take?" Connie yelled.

"Coming!" Jean answered.

He was both excited and nervous. He was going to see Mikasa after 3 long years. He wondered what she looked like, she was in her early twenties after all. She's gonna be beautiful as ever, Jean thought.

He checked himself in the mirror one last time and jogged to where his friends were waiting for him.

Armin smiled and waved at him, sweet as ever. Reiner and Annie nodded at him.

"Took you forever. What, are you getting ready for your marriage?" Connie punched Jean, to which Jean kicked him in the shin.

"Come on, let's go. Don't want to keep Mikasa waiting now, do we?" Jean grinned.

"Yeah, let's go!" Armin agreed.

Mikasa stared at the sky. It was cloudless and a bright blue. Her hand rested atop the small headstone next to her. She can't be mourning forever, she knew that. She had loved Eren since she was nine-she probably still does, she's not sure. Letting the man, who taught her to live, go was no easy task.

Her hand went up to her scarf. Eren's scarf. He'd told her to put it away and forget about him. Find someone else who would love her and move on. He'd said it like it was as easy as getting a new dress after the old one tore. Mikasa couldn't move on. She didn't know how to move on.

"Eren," she called out, hoping against hope he could hear her. "How can I forget you?"

The walk up the hill where Eren was buried was quiet. The air felt thick with emotions and Jean almost considered going back. Eren was your friend, dumbass, he reminded himself and kept walking. He would never admit it but he missed Eren dearly. That suicidal blockhead was one of his closest friends and though they argued all day everyday, Jean would readily give up his life for him and Eren would do the same for Jean.

Jean spotted Mikasa sitting next to a small stone staring at the sky. Jean's heart did a somersault when he took in her features. She had become more beautiful, as if she wasn't already. She had let her hair grow and it reached past her shoulders.

Instantly, he was reminded of the day he had complimented her hair. But, she had cut it short not long after on Eren's word.

"Mikasa!" Armin yelled with joy.

Mikasa looked down to see Armin and smiled. "Armin. Everyone. How are you?"

They sat round the tree and talked about the past three years, filling Mikasa in on everything she had missed. Mikasa smiled and nodded. She seemed to be looking at everyone, mentally noting the changes in their appearance and personality.

Jean realized he was staring at her when their eyes met. He blushed and gave her a wobbly smile. Man up Jean, he told himself. Go talk to her.

He stood up from his place and walked over to where Mikasa was seated. He hesitated for second before sitting beside her. What was he supposed to say to his crush of almost a decade who lost the man she loved?

Before he could think anything he blurted out: "I'm sorry."

The talking came to an abrupt stop and everyone stared at him. Mikasa blinked. "About what?" She asked, clearly confused.

Jean, at that moment, realized that he brought up a topic everyone was avoiding. He mentally cursed at himself. Since he had already messed up, he decided to continue with it and mess up his already messed up life.

"About Eren," he answered.

Mikasa opened her mouth to speak but nothing came out. She tugged at her scarf quietly. After what felt like forever she said, "I'm trying to forget him. I'm trying to move on."

Jean was taken aback. "Mikasa," he started. "You don't have to forget someone to move on."

She stared at him like he had told her the sky was green. But he continued.

"I know it's hard, after all you've known Eren for most of your life. It's okay to feel sad, you know. Take your time. But, don't push yourself away from others. It'll just make the pain worse. And-And I lost Marco and Sasha, too. I've moved on, see? And I didn't forget them."

Mikasa's eyes were wide. She looked down at her hands. "I know, I know. It's just that everyone was telling me to just forget. It's been three years and I-I couldn't-"

She broke off. Jean noticed her hands were shaking. He took her hands in his and gave a reassuring squeeze. He tried his best to ignore the way his heart was beating out of his chest.

"Mikasa," Armin said, his voice was soft and caring. "Jean is right. We'll be with you from now on. So, you won't have be alone anymore." Armin flashed her his brightest smile.

"I'll be with you. We'll be with you," Jean said.

Mikasa looked down again. "Thank you. All of you."

Jean's hands felt wet and he realized that Mikasa was crying. Daringly, he put his arm around her shoulder and brought her close to him. He looked up only to see Armin, Connie and Reiner smirking at him. His face felt hot as he sent them all a glare.

Jean gave Mikasa his whole heart. Mikasa gave him the shattered remains of hers. Jean would damn well help her piece it back together. It wouldn't be the same as before, he knew that. But, who cares. He knew she would love him with all she has.

The first step towards the future Jean imagined was by mending a broken heart.

I won't forget you Eren. Mikasa looked up at the sky. But I think I found someone who will love me.

Tsukishima Kei x Yamaguchi Tadashi, Yamaguchi Tadashi x Yachi Hitoka

Genre: Angst

Warnings: Cursing?? idk

i lowkey like how this turned out. the previous fic was trash and i apologize. i can write better than that. aaand i ship yamayachi!! its like the fluffiest ship evahh!! but i ship tsukkiyama more so there's not much yamayachi here. maybe i'll write for them one fateful day. anyways! enjoy this angst ;D

Coward

Kei saw how Tadashi's cheeks turned red when he first saw Yachi Hitoka. Yachi was kind and cute. Kei could see that too. But, seeing Tadashi blush around Yachi and stare at her for too long made him feel... weird. He couldn't describe clearly how it felt. The closest explanation was that he felt like he swallowed fire and that fire was burning him inside out.

It's fine. He consoles himself. Tadashi still walks, eats and plays with you. However, the tiny voice at the back of his head kept telling him it won't last long.

It didn't.

They were having a sleepover at Kei's house when Tadashi said something. It made Kei believe what the tiny voice kept whispering to him-if only a little bit.

"Hey Tsukki."

"What?" Kei removed his headphones.

Tadashi hesitated. The blonde didn't miss the slight red color dusting his freckled cheeks.

"W-What do you think about Yachi?" he asked.

Kei frowned. He had no particular interest in her. She was smart and drew well.

"Well, she's okay, I guess. Too short, though," he answered. Why are you asking? He wanted ask. But the question never left his mouth. He knew exactly why. Maybe he was scared of hearing the words from Tadashi. Because then it would be a truth and not a fleeting whisper that haunts Kei at night. Coward.

"Oh, alright." He wouldn't meet Kei's eyes. Rubbing the back of his neck, he said, "I think she's cute, you know."

No. I don't wanna know.

He nodded and put on his headphones. He played the music loud enough to be able to drown the tiny voice.

The bell rang signaling the end of the school day. Kei packed his things with no hurry. They didn't have practice today and him and Tadashi had planned to study together for the upcoming test.

He looked up and found Tadashi scurrying out of the class. Confused, Kei called him.

"Sorry Tsukki! Yachi wanted some help with Math. So I'll be studying with her." After giving a half-hearted smile, he hurried off.

That day, for the first time in many years, Kei walked home alone.

Tadashi and Yachi started hanging out more and more. And more and more did the voice grew in Kei's mind. Maybe, he thought. Maybe if he would just confess then the weight in his chest might reduce. He might even be able move on.

Every time he opened his mouth, the words felt like a heavy weight on his tongue, rendering him speechless. Tadashi noticed his abnormal behavior. How could he not? They knew each each other like the back of their hands.

"Tsukki," Tadashi called, worry lacing his tone. "Are you okay? Like okay okay."

He was as okay as a person who had swallowed fire. His throat burned with unsaid words and his heart with unrequited love. He chose to answer Tadashi's question with his favorite lie. "I am okay okay." He seemed more agitated than he wanted to.

Tadashi frowned. Of course he wouldn't buy it. Who was Kei even trying to fool?

"Tsukki."

There it was. That annoying nickname that made Kei's heart beat out his chest, that made him want to hear it more and more. Put it on repeat like the sad songs he had begun to listen to these days.

"What?" Kei was getting really annoyed. He wanted Tadashi to leave him alone and at the same time hug him and never let him go.

"You'll tell me, right? You'll if something's wrong, right?" The worry in Tadashi's voice had increased tenfold and it was not doing wonders to Kei to keep himself from confessing to Tadashi then and there.

"Yeah I will." He lied.

He was absolutely terrified of losing Tadashi after uttering three words—words which were capable of destroying the precious friendship they had built over the course of many years. Kei didn't know if he would be able trust anyone else to the extent he had trusted Tadashi.

Despite the apathetic and salty attitude, Kei considered himself as a big coward.

Exactly a week later, Tadashi told Kei with a huge blush that him and Yachi were dating. Kei patted him on the back and congratulated him with a soft smile. Later that night, he cried himself to sleep listening to the playlist he had recently made, the one which had all the sad songs he could ever name

"Tadashi, stop crying." Kei sighed.

"Sorry Tsukki," said Tadashi and cried even more.

He looked beautiful in his wedding suit which was picked by Kei himself. Ethereal, even. His makeup was light so that his freckles were seen. Kei had to bite down the urge trace patterns on them all day.

He was happy today. He really was. The shrine where the wedding was held looked beautiful. There weren't as much guests. Just some close relatives, Karasuno's alumni and a few other friends.

He adjusted his suit and waited for the ceremony to start. He knew it was Tadashi's happiest day in his life despite the gallons of tears he had shed. Who wouldn't be happy when they were marrying the love of their life?

Yachi, the bride, arrived in a beautiful dress. She looked like she had been crying too. He glanced at Tadashi and saw him looking at Yachi with an expression that screamed love and adoration.

Kei didn't hate Yachi. He couldn't—wouldn't—blame her for 'stealing' Tadashi. They were meant to be and so here they were saying their vows and exchanging rings. Rings which symbolized that what Tadashi and Yachi- no. She was Hitoka Yamaguchi now— had was permanent and would not change. Just like Kei's love for Tadashi, excluding the unrequited part.

He watched the love of his life get married to someone else and felt his heart break all over again. He was happy for them, really. Seeing Tadashi made him happy. But, knowing that he wasn't the cause for his happiness broke him. He stood there, smiling at Tadashi, the fire now consuming what's left of his broken heart and reducing it to ashes.

Maybe, if he had confessed to him early on then he probably wouldn't be this hurt. Maybe, he would have moved on. But, Kei was exactly what he had considered himself long ago—a coward.

Kuroo Tetsurou x GN! Reader

Tokyo Ghoul AU

Genre: Angst

Warnings: MAJOR CHARACTER DEATH! heavy angst, gore, blood

this took a lot of time and i am so sorry... I had irl stuff and tests too. hope you enjoy this :D

Chapter I

Red

Tetsurou laughed coldly at the man struggling below him. Pathetic. The man knew he would be eaten any second, but he still fought back. Tetsurou ignored his pleas and clicked his tongue, deep in thought. Humans were interesting. They struggled and struggled until last, knowing it would be less painful if they just give up.

All that thinking had made him curious now. He loosened his grip on the man. He pulled his head up by the hair and leaned in close to him. "Hey. Tell me," the man's face was a bloody mess. He didn't smell that tasty. Middle-aged, bald people never did. "Why are you not giving up? You're gonna die in the end anyways. So, why do you want it to be so painful?"

"P-Please. Let me go, please," the man stuttered out. He was shaking in Tetsurou's hold and had probably soiled his pants. Tetsurou tsked, annoyed for not getting answers and snapped the man's neck in half.

His appetite was gone now and no way was he eating a gross old man who stinked of shit.

"Kuro."

Tetsurou turned and found Kenma typing away on his phone. He smirked. It was rare to see Kenma outside.

"Were you worried I got caught by the CCG? Is that why you're here?" Tetsurou said, wiping a fake tear.

Kenma sent him a look of disgust. "Shut up. Yaku wanted to talk to you about something important, I don't know. He sent me to come get you."

Yaku? Something important? Tetsurou instantly regretted not hiding the expensive coffee he stole from Yaku. And Kenma agreeing to even step out of the building was news too. "About what?" he asked.

"You'll know when you get there."

Red

"Mr. Hayase!"

The elevator's doors had started to close. You ran, yelling at the person inside, Mr. Hayase, to hold it open. Thankfully, he did and you were able to get in. Panting, you thanked him and leaned against the wall of the elevator.

"Jeez, L/N!" Mr. Hayase hissed. "Why are you in such a hurry?"

You took a moment to control your breathing before answering him. "I have an important meeting in 2 minutes."

He hummed. "You got promoted recently, right?"

"Yeah. I'm a Senior Investigator now."

Mr. Hayase flashed you a grin. "Be careful out there. Promotion means more danger."

You grinned back. "I know. I didn't get promoted for nothing, you know. I'll be able to handle it."

You were on your floor now. You bowed quick and low to Mr. Hayase and rushed to the meeting room. Mr. Hayase was one of the scientists who worked for the CCG. He was also the one who made you your quinque.

You were lucky the meeting had not started yet. Apologizing, you sat down in your place.

"First day as a Senior Investigator and you're pathetically late." Nakamura Yuuichi, smirked.

You raised your eyebrow. Checking your watch you said, "Actually, I'm 17 seconds early. Well, it's 16 now."

"Don't act smart L/N," Nakamura hissed. You and Nakamura always had a sort of enmity since your trainee days. Always, trying to mock each other, insults would be thrown around without actually meaning them. Why it was like this, you had no idea.

"I'm not acting, Nakamura. I am smart."

Nakamura looked like he wanted to strangle you then and there. It was your turn to smirk.

"Now, if you both could shut up so we can actually start with the meeting," Ms. Rei said, voice deadly serious.

You made a show of pursing your lips and Nakamura clenched his fist and leaned back on his chair.

Ms. Rei eyed the two of you before beginning the meeting. "We received reports of a new ghoul organization," she started.

"Actually, it's not new. We got to know about only recently. The ghouls have been doing a good job laying low. They call themselves Nekoma. They're like Fukurodani—the one which was brought down by the CCG only recently."

Fukurodani was a pain in the ass to subdue. Their leader, Bokuto was an S-rated ghoul with immense strength. His mood swings–a blessing to the CCG–would slow him down. But, ever since Akaashi, an A-rated ghoul, joined their ranks, Bokuto's mood swings were lessened. The pretty ghoul knew how to control Bokuto.

"We don't have much details on the leader or members of Nekoma. We need to find their hide out and hunt them down. We can't let them take over Tokyo." Ms. Rei sat down and rummaged through the pile of files.

"Excuse me," you spoke up. Ms. Rei stopped and looked at you. "Do we have any info on the ranks of the ghouls?"

She sighed and shook her head. "Like I said before, Nekoma has laid low for a long time now. Some investigators caught one of their underlings and managed to get some information out of him. That ghoul only knew the name of the organization and nothing else. Not even the names of his fellow members."

You nodded a thank you and looked down at the file placed on your desk. This investigation will be hard, you thought. You opened the file and found the picture of a man-ghoul-staring back at you. He was a B-rated bikaku, according to the details below his picture. Satoshi Kimura, the ghoul, was caught near one of the garbage dumps in the outskirts of the city. Satoshi was in his late twenties, a few years older than you.

Ms. Rei cleared her throat and everyone turned to look at her. "Nekoma's investigation will be handed to L/N and L/N's squad. Senior Investigator L/N, you can visit Cochlea, where the ghoul from Nekoma is being kept, to gather more information. You will also be assigned a squad of 5 members. I wish you luck on this investigation."

You stood up from your place and shook hands with her. "You will not be disappointed." She gave you a red colored file saying that it had the most details about Nekoma. You thanked her and sat down. Excitement was coursing through your veins. You were going to be a squad leader! You refrained yourself from doing a victory dance.

You were going to find out Nekoma's base and capture all of them.

"Now," Ms. Rei started. "Moving on to the age old case of Itachiyama. Nakamura, like Y/N, you will also be assigned a squad. You are to bring Itachiyama down."

Mr. Minamoto, Assistant Special Investigator spoke up. "But, Rei! Even the Assistant Special Investigator Nishimura and his squad weren't able to kill them. How can you assign this to a Senior Investigator? That too Nakamura was promoted not long ago."

A cold shiver ran down your spine. Ms. Nishimura's squad was brutally murdered by the ghouls of Itachiyama, Ms. Nishimura being the only survivor. She had retired after the incident and had left the country. You couldn't blame her, though. Watching your squad, your comrades die in front you was the bad enough. But, being the only survivor was the worst.

Ms. Rei nodded. "You're right Minamoto. But, that was 2 years ago. Itachiyama has weakened since then. Since the two S-rated ghouls, Sakusa Kiyoomi and Komori Motoya, left Itachiyama and joined another organization. It's safe to say now that Itachiyama is easy to take down. There's mostly A to B-rated ghouls. No S-rated either. That's why Nakamura and his squad are assigned with this."

Mr. Minamoto didn't look convinced. Yet he nodded and looked at Nakamura, silently asking him if he was okay with it.

Nakamura wasn't fazed in the slightest. Instead, he bounced in his seat with pure enthusiasm. That was so Nakamura-ish. Always getting excited at difficult challenges. You had to suppress a smile.

"However," Ms. Rei looked at Nakamura, eyebrows raised. "If you don't want to do it, we can give it to some-"

"I'll do it!" Nakamura bounced up from his seat.

Ms. Rei took a step back. "Alright, then." She said and handed him the files.

Nakamura smirked at you. I'm gonna win Y/N, he mouthed.

Not if I kick your ass first Yuuichi, you mouthed back.

Red

The café was warm and cozy. You placed your order and sat at your table, in the far corner. You would be meeting your squad tomorrow and you were nervous. Very nervous. After collecting the necessary files you had decided to get some coffee before heading back home. So, here you were, in your favorite cafe, files tucked neatly in your bag, waiting for your coffee.

The waiter called your name saying that your order was ready. You got in a hurry and grabbed your bag. You didn't want to leave it alone and risk the files getting leaked. Thanking the waiter, you walked out of the cafe while adjusting your bag on your shoulder. You took a sip and the next you knew was that you had collided into something and were on the ground, coffee spilled, files askew. You had zipped the bag, right?

The files spread across the café's floor said otherwise. You mentally kicked yourself, and scrambled up. You shoved the files in your bag and stood up straight, ready to apologize to the person you collided into.

"I'm sorry!"

"I'm sorry!"

The person–a man–was apologizing with his head bent low. He looked up and spoke.

"I spilled your drink. Let me buy you another one."

You shook your head no. You were disappointed that your coffee was spilled, but you didn't want to trouble a stranger.

"I insist, please," the man said. He looked like he just woke up and put on whatever he had in his closet. His unkempt hair was spiky and fell over one of his eyes. His hazel colored, cat-like eyes scanned you up and down.

"Uhh, okay. If you insist." You agreed.

The man smiled, satisfied. "I'll get you your coffee."

After getting the drinks (he took coffee, too) he sat in front of you. Thanking him, you took the warm plastic cup and were about to leave when he stopped you.

"What's your name?" He asked.

You blinked. "L/N Y/N." After a beat, you asked, "What's yours?"

"Kuroo Tetsurou."

Kuroo Tetsurou x GN! Reader

Tokyo Ghoul AU

Genre: Angst, fluff

Warnings: MAJOR CHARACTER DEATH!! curse words

Have some fluff yall! I had fun writing this. Oh to be wrapped in kuroo's jacket which smells like him *wails*

Chapter II

Red

"Rank 2 Investigator, Suzuki Akemi!"

The dyed blonde gave a bow. She was of average height and had a lean build. Her tan skin was stark contrast to her hair.

"And I'm, Senior Investigator, L/N Y/N. Nice to meet you."

You shook hands with Suzuki. She seemed like a nice person.

"Ahem! Rank 1 Investigator, Inoue Kentaro. I look forward to working with you," said a short boy with electric blue hair. He was rather jumpy and overly enthusiastic. You smiled and shook hands with him.

Only two of your squad members were here today. The other two, Rank 3 Investigators, would be meeting you the next day. Ms. Rei said it had something to do with disciplinary training.

The thought itself sent chills down your spine. What if you won't be able to control them? Would they think you were incompetent? You had to make a good first impression. You groaned.

Inoue perked up. "Something's wrong, L/N-san? Are you sick? Do you need medical attention?" He asked a never ending string of questions about your health.

You waved your arms in front of him and tried your best to calm him down. "Inoue! It's not like that. Don't overthink."

Suzuki scoffed.

The short male flushed. "I'm sorry, L/N-san. I was concerned, that's all."

"I appreciate your concern. But, you don't need to be that concerned. Get it?"

"Yes."

Red

"Yaku~" Tetsurou called out in a sing-song voice. "I have some good news."

"God, I hope the good news is that you died." Yaku rolled his eyes.

"I wouldn't be here if I were dead, you know. And why would you wish death upon me?" Tetsurou threw a look of faux betrayal.

"Just spit out that good news."

Tetsurou smirked. "So, the Doves are looking for us, right? And the other day I bumped into this cute Investigator in the cafe. Their things fell down and I caught a glimpse of this file. A file about us, Yaku. It was red what with the name 'Nekoma' written on it."

Yaku's eyes were filled with disbelief. "You're lying."

"Why would I? I wouldn't joke about this. You know I care about Nekoma more than anything."

That was true. Nekoma was Testurou's life. He had joined it with Kenma when they were kids, who had nowhere to go. After Nekomata, the old leader of the organization, was killed in a raid by the Doves, Nekoma was leaderless. Many other organizations and Doves tried to kill them. Tetsurou, at that time, had stepped up and took the role of the leader. With Yaku's help, he was able to stabilize the organization and strengthen their defense, all the while managing to stay hidden from the Doves.

Well, that was until last week, when one of their weak members got caught by the Doves and spewed information about Nekoma. Thankfully, the new and weak members only knew the name of the organization they were in. They were shown a false hideout to throw off the spies. Only the closest few members like Kenma, Taketora, Fukunaga and Nobuyuki knew everything about Nekoma.

Yaku licked his lips. "Okay, fine. I believe you. How will you get information out of that Investigator?"

"I was planning on cornering them, somewhere secluded. And, you know, torture them 'til they give us what we want." Testurou let out a long breath and ran his hand through his hair.

"But, we don't know their rank, yet. If they turn out to be super powerful, we're dead meat."

Yaku considered this. "You're right. Besides, there's no guarantee the investigator will yield to us. Some of them are too loyal for their own good."

Tetsurou spread out his arms. He grinned and said, "And that's why I came up with a foolproof, extraordinary plan."

"And what would that be?"

"I talk to L/N, the investigator, gain their trust and get them to tell me what they know. I can also get info of what's happening in the CCG."

Yaku looked like a babysitter who was tired of hearing the bullshit the baby said. "That's one fucking horrible plan, your roster brain came up with. What makes you think they'll trust you"

"Charm, Yaku. Charm. They won't be able to resist me and my good looks. They'll be head over heels for me in a week."

"Yeah. Only if they are into rooster-ghoul hybrids like you, then they will."

"You're saying that 'cause you are jealous."

Before Yaku could retort, Tetsurou said, completely serious, "No matter how bad or risky the plan is, I'll do anything to save Nekoma."

The CCG had provided a home for you and your squad. It was spacious with 5 bedrooms, a large kitchen and 3 bathrooms. Each room had a bed and closet.

You chose the room nearest to the kitchen and told Suzuki and Inoue to choose from the remaining 4. Arranging your things quickly, you went to the living room to be met with an angry Inoue telling off Suzuki.

You cleared your throat to get their attention. They shut up immediately and turned to you, expectant of news. "We'll be starting our investigation as of tomorrow. I want you all to be prepared. I believe you have received your quinques?"

"Yes!" The two yelled.

"Inoue, what's your quinque?" You asked.

"Mine's a bikaku type, rated A."

"You, Suzuki?"

"Koukaku, rated A." She said.

"Alright. Nice quinques. Mine is an ukaku type, rated S. I received it recently. Apparently, it was made from the kagune of the former leader of Nekoma, Nekomata."

"Oh!' Inoue piped up. "That's so cool, L/N-san. I think it will be very useful against the ghouls of Nekoma."

"Stop stating the obvious, shorty." Suzuki deadpanned.

"I'm not short. You're just too tall!"

They continued to bicker. Tired of this already, you decided to take a walk.

It was cold outside and you cursed at yourself for not wearing your jacket. You contemplated going back, but the thought of listening to Suzuki and Inoue argue for even a second made the cold bearable. You reached a park, and sat under the farthest tree.

There were not much kids playing. You spotted a few college students talking animatedly near the swings.

"Y/N-chan!"

You turned and saw–was he Kuroo Tetsurou from that cafe?

Your doubts were confirmed when he came closer to you. He was dressed better this time, and his hair looked tamer. He was wearing a black shirt under a blood red jacket. Black jeans and running shoes completed his look.

He flopped down right beside you and grinned. "Damn, we meet again. Is it fate?"

"I'd call it a coincidence." Kuroo was warm. You leaned into his warmth, unconsciously.

"I believe there is no such thing as coincidence. Everything happens for a reason."

Impressed, you raised your eyebrows. "Are you a philosopher of sorts?"

Kuroo laughed. "God, no. I'm just a college student."

At this point, your arm was in complete contact with his. You couldn't help it. He was warm and you were in need of warmth.

"I reckon you are a college student, too?" He asked.

You took a moment to answer. You weren't sure whether or not to tell him you were a ghoul investigator. So, you went with the safest option. "I'm a college student, too." For some reason he didn't ask which college you went to. You were grateful.

A cold wind blew past, leaving you shivering.

Kuroo straightened up. "Aww, Y/N-chan. You should've worn a jacket. Winter's close you know."

"It isn't that cold," you lied. It was, in fact, very cold. As if on cue, you sneezed.

Kuroo laughed. "Here, have my jacket." He removed his jacket and draped it around your shoulders. The jacket was warm and cozy. You let yourself drown in it.

Putting it on, you thanked him. The jacket was at least 2 sizes bigger which made you feel extremely small.

Kuroo smirked. "You can keep it. Looks good on you."

Your face heated up alarmingly, making you look away from him. It was silent for a moment, before he spoke up.

"Can I have your number? I want to get to know you more."

You agreed and exchanged numbers with him. With a promise to call you later that night, he went home. You went back shortly after.

You had to explain to Inoue and Suzuki that the jacket did not belong to your boyfriend or girlfriend, but instead belonged to an acquaintance of yours. The explanation, however, fell on deaf ears as your subordinates flashed you knowing smirks.

Chapter III

Kuroo Tetsurou x GN! Reader

Tokyo Ghoul AU

Genre: Angst

Warnings: mentions of blood, a bit of gore

yeah im alive. i have no excuse for not posting but im deeply sorry. here's a long-ish chapter. please enjoy :)

Red

Kuroo had called that night. The night after that, and for every night for about three weeks now. Since you were busy with the investigation and Kuroo with college, you two talked more through phone calls and texts than meeting up.

Maeda Akako and Ishii Fujita were the two other squad members. They weren't much trouble, except for how restless and reckless the two were. They seemed to be perfectly disciplined, which was a good thing. The squad had warmed up to you as much as you had to them.

You alternated patrolling the city with your squad so as to get to know them more. It worked with everyone except Suzuki. She answered to only what was asked, nothing more nothing less. Her answers were vague and she never talked about herself. You let it pass as it did not interfere with the investigation. And also, she had extraordinary skills and followed orders without questioning.

"L/N-san," Ishii called. "Inoue and I have a lead about Nekoma's whereabouts. We came across another ghoul during today's morning patrol. We got some info outta him."

Inoue handed you a notepad. The scribbled handwriting was hard to read but you could make out what was written.

"Are you two sure she's not lying? What if this was some false information to throw us off?" Maeda asked.

"Maeda is right," said Suzuki. "Usually, ghoul organizations give false information to the weak ghouls. This way, if they're caught by us it would be no threat to the organization."

"You're right Suzuki," you said. You were having second thoughts about your opinion. What if it was the real hideout? Or what if it was the hideout for the weaker ghouls? Surely, you could not let it go. You had to see the place empty of ghouls with your own eyes to believe the information was false.

"But, Suzuki and I will go there and make sure it's not a hideout. We can't rule out the possibility that the ghouls are there, right? Inoue, Ishii thank you for getting us a lead."

Inoue blushed and muttered a small thank you. Ishii, however, was frowning. "But, if that place turns out to be their actual hideout then how will you fight them? Won't you be overpowered?"

You opened your mouth to answer, but Suzuki was already talking. "We will be going undercover. And we will just be checking the area for ghoul activity. If our suspicions are confirmed, we will get back immediately and plan an attack. Am I right, L/N-san?"

You couldn't help but smile. "Yes, you are."

Red

"Kuroo Tetsurou."

Yaku sounded dangerously calm. This was bad news.

"It has been four fucking weeks and you still haven't an idea how much the Doves know about us. Are you playing a joke?"

Tetsurou swallowed. Yaku was a total demon when he was angry. And Yaku looked beyond angry now. He looked at Kenma for help, but he smirked at Tetsurou and continued to play on his phone.

He smiled and hoped to lighten the mood. "Now, now. I can't just ask L/N-chan how much they know. It'll blow my cover."

Yaku looked unimpressed. Tetsurou continued.

"I'm gaining their trust. This takes some time, of course. L/N-chan is a Dove. One small slip up and I'll be rotting in Cochlea. I need more time Yaku, rushing things won't be good. I have to make sure they trust me. And then, slowly I'll leak everything they know about us."

Yaku raised an eyebrow. "And then?"

"Then what?"

"What will you do after getting what we want?"

Tetsurou laughed. It was cold and the sound bounced off the walls of the room. "You act so smart even though you are so stupid deep down. I'll kill them, of course! What else am I supposed to do?"

"You better."

Red

The address Ishii and Inoue gave led to an abandoned, half-finished apartment complex. It was pretty far away from both the CCG and your home so you had made sure to carry your quinque. Apparently, the construction was stopped as the builder was involved in a sort of a gamble, lost all his money and could not pay his workers.

A few homeless people slept in sleeping bags near the thick cement pillars of the building. The sound of rain drops falling on the ground was audible despite the snoring.

Suzuki tugged on your sleeve causing you to stop walking. She pointed to a flight of stairs and tilted her head. Let's go upstairs.

You agreed and made your way as silently as possible. The stairs had no railings and were narrow. One had to be careful while climbing.

The next floor was empty. However, it stank of something rotten. You looked at Suzuki, she too seemed to notice something was off.

"L/N-san," Suzuki whispered. "I'll go check that side. You check here."

You agreed even though you knew splitting up was a bad idea. "If something bad happens, yell. Okay?"

Suzuki nodded, and the two of you split. You walked silently on the dust covered cement. Small spots of red caught your attention. Bending down, you rubbed a gloved finger over it. Dry. The reddish brown color was proof that someone was here not long ago. You looked around for more and found a few more spots that led you to an empty room. Or so you thought.

There was a soft gasp, which you later realized was your own. A body lay on the ground. The woman—you could tell from the unscratched face—had her throat slit open. Her arms and legs were bitten all over. The wall behind the corpse was painted in blood.

The smell of rotting flesh made bile rise up to your throat. As a ghoul investigator, you had seen worse than this. But, you could never get used to this.

The woman's eyes stared up at you, devoid of life. You bent down slowly and closed her eyes. Uttering a quick prayer, you searched the area for any kagune secretions or markings. You sent a quick text to your squad asking them come as soon as possible.

You got out of the room and searched for Suzuki. You found her talking to a man kneeling on the floor, with his hands behind his head.

"Suzuki, what's going on?" you asked.

She turned, which made it easy for you to get a look at the man. Your blood ran cold when the all-too-familiar hazel eyes met yours. Messy hair that stuck out in all directions, slanted eyebrows, broad shoulders-were too familiar.

Kuroo Tetsurou was kneeling behind Suzuki, hands behind his head, blood across his face and shirt.

"L/N?" Kuroo's eyes were wide like saucers.

Before you could speak, Suzuki asked, "You know L/N-san?"

He nodded. "Yes. We met in a cafe, I spilled their coffee. We met again and we became friends."

"Is what he's saying true L/N-san?"

"That's not how you put it, but, it's true nonetheless." You agreed.

A lopsided grin spread on Kuroo's face. When he spoke, he sounded like he was talking to a lost child. "You shouldn't be here, L/N-chan. It's dangerous."

You ignored him. Job first, Kuroo later.

"Why are you covered in blood? What are you even doing here?" A bloody corpse and a suspect covered in blood. You knew what it was, but, god you wanted to be wrong. You did not want Kuroo to be a ghoul.

"Uhh, I'll start with the second question first." Kuroo licked his lips. "A friend—enemy, to be precise—called me here. Said they wanted to 'set things right'. However, I did not know he wanted to do it by stabbing me." He shrugged a little at the end.

"Enemy? Stab you?"

"I have a lot of enemies. Most of them want me dead."

You took a deep breath. "You are a college student, Kuroo. Why would anyone want to kill you?"

"I may have pissed off the members of yakuza." He wouldn't look at you. His bangs covered one of eyes as he looked down.

"You-what?"

Kuroo opened his mouth to explain, but you cut him off. "No. Forget that. Don't talk- no. And stay here."

You dragged Suzuki away from him, stopping when you were out of his earshot. You whispered to her as low as possible: "I found a body of a woman in a room, on the other side of the building. I'm positive it was done by a ghoul."

Suzuki nodded, eyes dark. "Do you think he has anything to do with it?"

"I'm not a hundred percent sure he's human. We are somewhat friends, and-and why would a ghoul befriend an investigator?"

"I don't know, L/N-san. With what we have, it's safe to say he is a ghoul. And the story he told us is crap."

You rubbed your temples in frustration. His explanation was not true and you knew it. Kuroo Tetsurou was a cocky, laid back man with a heart of gold. Or so you thought. Or so he made you think.

Kuroo Tetsurou was not a ruthless, cold hearted ghoul who preyed on the innocent. Or so you wanted to believe.

"L/N-chan!" Kuroo's voice echoed in the empty building. "You might want to save me."

Surrounding Kuroo were five masked ghouls, their kagune ready to attack you three. Four of them slowly walked towards you and Suzuki. Their masks had the outline of a green snake curled on the side. The fifth one pulled up Kuroo by his shirt.

You had sent a text to your squad, you remembered. They must be on their way.

Kuroo looked at you, fear etched across his face. The ghoul holding him, shoved him forward. Kuroo stumbled.

"It's been a while since I have had some meat," he muttered. He had a gold snake on his mask unlike the others. The ghoul pushed his mask up a little and bit Kuroo's shoulder.

Too Late

Sakusa Kiyoomi x GN! Reader

Genre: Angst

Warnings: Mentions of thorns, i said 'shit' like once

im not dead heh. i lowkey like how it turned out. have some angst after the two fluff fics. sorry not sorry.

Too Late

Kiyoomi is 15 and lying on his bed, glaring at the ceiling and trying to burn all his feelings for you. He doesn't want to feel this way. It's pathetic. He tries to find something in you to hate. Were you unhygienic? No. Annoying? Sometimes yes. But he found it cute. Did you hate volleyball? Also no. You weren't really interested in it but that was okay. Not everyone had to like volleyball.

He tries and tries to hate you, to find a reason to stay away from you but fails. He stays up all night trying to push down the feelings. He goes to school the next day with bags under his eyes and feelings for you that were ten times stronger than the day before.

Kiyoomi is 16 and sees you cheering for him in the stands. He had scored the game point by spiking the ball into the opposite court with a deadly spin. You're hugging one of your friends and celebrating. Seeing you so happy made the corners of his lips twitch up. Komori gave a hard slap on his back and went on about how good the spike was. Kiyoomi thanked him and complimented some of his saves that prevented his team from losing points.

Komori took him and you to a cafe nearby to celebrate their win the next day. You congratulated the two volleyball players and talked and talked about Kiyoomi's apparently 'killer' spikes and Komori's 'life saving' digs. You awed at Kiyoomi's abnormally flexible wrists. "Cool," you said with wide eyes and an open mouth. Kiyoomi's chest felt warm and he's thankful for the mask that hid his small smile. He decided not push down his feelings anymore.

Kiyoomi is 18 and has finished packing his bags. He leaves for his university in two days. He will still be in Tokyo, which was good because going to a place foreign to him was slightly scary. The thought of being away from his family, Komori and you made his throat tighten up. He shook his head and heads out of his house. The three of you were going to have a farewell party of sorts for Kiyoomi. It turned out to be just a movie night with a shit ton of snacks at Komori's house.

Komori was fast asleep on the beanbag with his mouth open. The movie was still playing on the TV, though no one was watching it. Kiyoomi noticed that you had moved closer to him. He didn't mind it. He closed his eyes and tries to fall asleep. Though he ended up snapping them open at your voice. Your voice was soft and low and even with the noise of the TV he could make out what you said. His heart beats fast at the confession that left your lips. He doesn't say anything for what felt like hours. Finally, he gathered the courage to look at you. Maybe you were joking. Maybe you said that in a platonic way. But your eyes said otherwise.

The rarely used, emotional part of him begged Kiyoomi to tell you that he felt the same way, to hold your beautiful face in his hands and kiss you. Kiyoomi almost listened. Almost. He swallowed down the truth and lied to you. He told you he didn't feel the same way. That he saw you as nothing more than a friend. Your eyes glowed with unshed tears when you told him that it was okay. You apologized in case you made him uncomfortable and left.

Kiyoomi's throat burned with unsaid words. The lies he said wrapped around his neck like vines, it's thorns pricking his neck. I'm not ready, he reassured himself. He's not ready for you. He would be leaving for uni and he also had to focus on volleyball. He hoped you would wait for him.

Kiyoomi is 22 and plays for MSBY Black Jackals. Komori plays for the EJP Raijin. You work as a sports journalist for Japan's popular sports magazine. Kiyoomi has read a few articles and was extremely impressed. He smiled at the tiny picture of you next to the article. You looked even more beautiful now. The smile he loved so much back in high school was still the same.

During the first two years of college the three of you tried to meet up atleast once every two months. Slowly, once every two months became once every six months which turned into a year. You were all busy with college and side jobs which left no time to catch up with your friends. He was surprised when the feelings he had for you didn't fade away even after years of having little to no contact with you.

This time when Kiyoomi met you again he would confess. He was ready now.

Kiyoomi is 25 and lying on his bed, glaring at the ceiling. He's trying burn all his feelings for you. He doesn't want to feel like this anymore. It's pathetic. He's pathetic. His tears leave a burning trail across his cheek. He doesn't bother to wipe them. Kiyoomi's chest feels tight with unrequited love. His emotions have left the tiny cage he locked them in and reached his throat blocking his airway. Kiyoomi can't breathe and his throat hurts.

He's holding a piece of paper in his hand. He brings it up to his face and sobs harder than ever. He reads what's written on the paper again, just to make sure. It's a wedding invitation. You were going to marry someone who was not Kiyoomi. Kageyama Tobio. You were going to marry Kageyama Tobio, setter of Schweiden Adlers and not Kiyoomi. Kiyoomi looks at it and tries to imagine his name in the place of Kageyama's. It makes him cry even more—the thought of what could have been.

Maybe if he hadn't made you wait, it would have been him marrying you. He wouldn't be crying in his bed and probably would have been cuddling you. If he was ready back then it would have been him with you. But now even though he was ready, you had moved on.

Gojou Satoru x GN! Reader

Genre: angst, a teeny tiny bit of fluff

Warnings: manga spoilers, mentions of bleeding and dying

oof- i've read a lot of fics about gojou breaking yn's heart and i really wanted one where gojou is the one being heartbroken (go get your revenge yn!!) i feel that gojou would only fall in love with someone if they were as strong as him coz ofcourse he can't risk their life. this one is packed with angst and pining gojou so enjoy :)

Shattered

Satoru first saw you when he was sixteen. You were only a year older, but had an air of maturity around you that not even most of the adults possessed. Your mouth seemed to be pressed permanently into a line. Your gaze was calculating and challenging, as if daring anyone to approach you. Satoru sensed the immense power that radiated from you. His ego, though, told him you were no match to him.

Annoyed at first sight. That was what Satoru would like to label it. He was sure that's what you felt, too, by the way your eye twitched whenever he talked to you. The only difference was that, the annoyance he felt towards you slowly changed into fondness then love, whereas yours remained the same.

Satoru is not sure why and when he falls for you.

You left Japan immediately after finishing high school. 'Family affairs' is what you told everyone. Satoru knows it's something else, you had never been a good liar. He somehow manages to get your number. He doesn't know what he would do if he cut any and all contact with you.

Gojou Satoru being the strongest sorceror was both a curse and a boon. Being the strongest meant he would have to protect everyone he loved or cared about from danger constantly. Hence, the reason he liked to distance himself from everyone. Especially after what happened with his dearest and only friend, Getou Suguru, Satoru had sworn off love. Although he couldn't help but hope that maybe one day he would find someone he could love without the fear of losing them. Someone who was as strong as him.

You came back to Japan after 12 years. Satoru is 28 and is a teacher. You are 29 and one of the most skilled jujutsu sorcerors overseas. He asks you to meet him at one of his favorite coffee shops, wanting to catch up on each other's lives. Surprisingly, you agree.

You don't ask him about Getou and Satoru is not sure whether to feel relieved or disappointed. Instead you ask him about his students and he is more than happy to talk about them. He also tells you about the inefficient higher ups and how he would love to kill all of them. You let out a snort, a small smile tugs on your lips and Satoru realizes that that is the first time he ever saw you smile. He remembers his teenage self staring at your lips and wondering if you had ever smiled, much less laughed.

He asks you about the details of your job to which you tell him it's confidential. He nods. Whatever job you had was clearly wearing you down-the bags under your eyes, strands of premature grey hair and the many scars that covered your hands were a giveaway.

You looked even more beautiful now—almost ethereal—which Satoru had deemed impossible. You had grow so much, both physically and mentally. From a grumpy, asocial teenager to a graceful adult, although still grumpy.

Satoru finally confesses. It feels like the infinity surrounding his heart is being ripped apart leaving him exposed and vulnerable. He's not sure whether he despises it or likes it. A part of him instantly regrets it. Regrets opening his heart out to someone. He was supposed to keep it all bottled up inside.

You look at him for the longest time before speaking. You tell him you've never looked at him that way, that he had always been an accomplice.

Now, the whole of him regrets it. Your words feel like daggers piercing his heart. He should not have confessed, not have lowered the guards protecting his heart from yet another heartbreak, not have expected you to reciprocate his feelings, not have not have-

He tosses his ego aside. He wants you oh so desperately. He's sure you're the one. After Getou he thought he would never love again, but you are here and you are not Getou. You were strong—almost as strong as him—so he needs you. He's goddamn sure you won't leave. (is he?)

So, he asks you for a chance to prove himself. To prove that he is worthy of your love. Still you refuse. You don't trust him. You've heard about his bad habit of sleeping around, his disloyalty towards his partners. "If I were to give you a chance, what guarantee do you have that you won't cheat on me? I simply don't trust you Satoru."

Ah.

That hurt like a bitch.

His heart shatters, the jagged pieces embedding themselves into his lungs and making him bleed from the inside. He can't breathe. He thinks he is going to die. So, this was what heartache felt like. He mentally apologizes to everyone whose heart he broke. He humors himself by thinking that they cursed him when he mercilessly broke their hearts.

He appreciates you being brutally honest, however. He might have a sweet tooth, but he would rather swallow the bitter truth than sugar coated lies.

There's a bigger hole in his chest now. He's not sure he will ever be able to fill it. So, he pretends that nothing is wrong and goes on about his life. He doesn't hear from you anymore. Maybe if the world was safe he would be able to find someone else. Or if he was someone else, someone better, you would love him. Satoru looks up and silently curses the gods and himself. Mostly himself.

Heartbroken

How the Haikyuu!! characters are after a breakup

Part 1, Part 2, Part 3

Ft: Hinata Shoyou, Kozume Kenma, Miya Osamu, Miya Atsumu, Bokuto Koutarou.

should i make a part 2 for this with other characters?

Shoyou's ever-present smile faltered as he saw you again after what felt like an eternity. He was so, so sure he had moved on. Yet, there he was, feeling something warm bloom inside him the moment your eyes met. You smiled-awkwardly, not the one that he oh so loved-and moved on. You look like you're doing well, which he is happy about. Do you miss him? He hopes so. He misses you dearly, yes, but Shoyou swears he's happy. He's doing well, too. Because that's what matters right? Though he'd be happier if you were with him.

Kenma cursed as he lost the boss fight for the umpteenth time. He's been playing for so long and still hasn't been able to defeat the boss. Frustrated, he threw the console on his bed and laid back. That was a huge mistake for his mind immediately drifted towards you. He thought about all the things that don't feel the same, now that you had left. He couldn't enjoy games, streaming-everything was so bland without you. He wonders how he even lived before you came into his life.

Osamu is in a rush. It's a rush hour and he's busy tending to his customers. In between customers, he somehow manages to make extra onigiri for his dinner. Absent mindedly, he puts them in a container and goes on about his work. It's when he's finished closing the shop and ready to leave that he notices he's made enough onigiri for two people. He freezes as he notices how some of them are covered in your favorite seasoning. He laughs silently, because why would you be at his home? The two of you had broken up exactly two months ago. Pathetic. Osamu should be over you. He can't stop loving you.

Atsumu is scrolling through social media, laughing at cat memes. A particular one makes him laugh very hard. Trying to catch his breath, he sends it to all his friends. He scrolls through the list to find your name, he's sure you will love it. He's confused when he can't find your contact in the list. His eyes widen as realization hits him square in the face. We're not together anymore. He bites his trembling lip. He misses you so much. He tried pushing his feelings down knowing very well it won't work. Atsumu sobs into his pillow and wishes you would take him back.

Koutarou opens the door to an empty home. There is no one running into his arms to welcome him. No one to ask him about his day. No one to cuddle and kiss when he feels down. He feels an ache in his heart just at the sight of his lifeless home. Did you have this much impact on him? Did he take you for granted? He heats up the leftovers in his fridge and thinks how he would have to sleep in a cold, empty bed and repeat all of this again tomorrow, the day after that and so on.

Heartbroken

How the Haikyuu!! characters are after a break up

Part 1, Part 2, Part 3

pretty please write a haikyuu heartbreak part 2 🥺 the first part hurt so good

-anon

Ft: Ushijima Wakatoshi, Kageyama Tobio, Suna Rintarou, Sakusa Kiyoomi

Wakatoshi was on a call with his closest friend. They had been talking for over two hours—mostly Tendou, as he was the talkative one. When Tendou innocently asked about your wellbeing, he froze. It was then that he truly realized you were gone and wouldn't be coming back. He was in denial the whole time—waiting for you to come back. His throat closed up, rendering him speechless. Tendou understood his silence and tried his best to console Wakatoshi, though all the latter could think of was your absence and how much it suffocated him.

Tobio's unexpected setter dump helped his team win the match. He was showered with praises and slaps on the back. One of his more playful teammates ruffled his hair and hugged. Tobio instinctively turned his head to search for you in the stands. When he saw that your usual spot was empty, his smile dropped. Where are you? His heart ached. He called you as soon as he reached home, only for his blood to run cold when you addressed him by his last name. "Why didn't you come to my game?" He asked. "Kageyama, we broke up."

Rintarou's heart beat fast when you playfully punched him. He had said something funny and you were laughing your head off. His joy was shortlived as he was painfully reminded that you were not his anymore, as your boyfriend came and hugged you from behind. After your breakup, you had insisted that Rintarou and you remain friends and despite his better judgement, he agreed. And now he's forced to see you happy with someone else. Someone who's not him.

Kiyoomi's finger hovered over the phone screen. He hesitated before he pressed 'cancel'. He couldn't bring himself to delete your pictures. There was no way he could do it. Instead, he wished he had taken more pictures with you. After all, those were the only reminders of you he had left. You were the best thing that happened in his life and Kiyoomi regretted letting you go. He looked at your smiling face in the pictures as a tear escaped his eyes.

Baked with Love

Nanami Kento x Reader

Genre: fluff, light angst

Warnings: lots of bread

Baked With Love

"Welcome!" Your chirped as the door to your bakery opened with a chime. It was the blond man, and as always he was right on time-exactly 7:45 in the morning.

You smiled and bowed to the man. "I already have your order ready, Mister."

Surprise flashed across his face for a moment before his lips curved up into a smile. "I guess I have become a regular here, huh?"

You nodded and placed a loaf of brioche wrapped in parchment paper. The man pulled out his wallet and paid the exact amount of money. He always seemed to carry the exact amount of change with him. He nodded a goodbye at you and made his way out of the bakery.

"Thank you. Please visit again," you said though you knew he would be there tomorrow at the same time, buy the same bread and carry the same amount of money for the bread.

The rest of your day passed by as usual. When you had no customers to tend to, your mind drifted to the blond man. You wondered what he did for work, but by his looks you assumed he was a salary-man. The lines on his face, which made him all the more handsome, made you think he was quite old. What if he is married? What if he has kids?

Curiosity boiled in your mind, making it difficult to think about anything else other than him. You wanted to know more about him. What was his favorite color? Did he go to college? Where does he work? You wanted to know more and more and more and-

Ding!

The sound of the doorbell ringing snapped you violently out of your thoughts. You quickly collected yourself and greeted the customer. After the customer was gone, you mentally scolded yourself for overthinking about that man and zoning out during work.

But did he think of you too?

The thought left a bitter taste in your mouth. You were a nobody. Just the owner of the bakery that he liked to frequent. The two of you didn't even know each other's names. You shook your head and decided not to think of him anymore. It was futile and you knew your stupid feelings would never be reciprocated.

Next day, the man arrives again-7:45 sharp, and neither a minute early nor late. You greet him as usual, ignoring the pang in your heart. You had his order packed and ready. He paid and turned around to leave.

However, he stopped right in front of the door and hesitated. You cocked your head in confusion but before you could ask him anything, he turned around, cleared his throat and spoke.

"Are you, perhaps, free this weekend?"

Your mouth fell open in confusion and when you spoke, you were a stuttering mess. "Yes, of course!"

You mentally kicked yourself for sound too eager. You looked at him and noticed that he looked slightly pleased with himself. The pink dusting the tips of ears doesn't go unnoticed by you.

"How about we meet at the restaurant down the street for lunch?"

He spoke slowly, in a way one would speak so as to not mess up the words. His eyes bore into you, waiting for an answer and not breaking eye contact. You were never one to hold one's gaze for so long but something about him made you want to look at him more and more. You found yourself drifting into his eyes, the color of sweet, sweet honey.

You sputtered when you realized you had to answer his question. "Oh! Yeah, why not! How about this Sunday? The bakery will be closed, so.."

You drifted off, hoping he would agree. Why wouldn't he agree when he asked you out? You silently groaned at your stupidity. You could not believe that the man had asked you out. After weeks of secretly pining and convincing yourself that he didn't even know you much less like you, you were truly and utterly shocked. You dug your nails into your palm to confirm you were not dreaming.

He nodded and his shoulders slightly drooped, like he had just put down a heavy load. "Alright," he said, walking towards the door. "I'll see you on Sunday."

"Wait!" You called out for him. He turned his head around to look at you and raised an eyebrow, his honey-brown eyes focused solely on your face.

"W-What's your name?"

He smiled. A real smile. A smiled wide enough to make his eyes crinkle at the corners and make him look so much more younger.

"Nanami Kento."
