Lily: What happened?!
Panda: Someone kidnapped the kids.
Lily: What?! WHO??
James: We're not sure. We went to pick them up from school, yk and the teacher told us that someone picked them up a few hours ago!
Lily: Wait - It wasn't me, or any of you, or Reggie, cause he's been here the whole day... *grabs the phone* Hello Mary, did pick up the kids early today?
Mary: No, why? Are they missing???
Lily: Yes
Mary *to Sirius* take my shift, my kids are missing* to Lily* I'll be there in five
Lily: Mary will be here soon. But ab the kids, this was probably one of our friends...
Reg*coming out of the kitchen* What's going on?
James*explains everything*
Reg: Shit, do you know if it was some of our friends, Idk, kinda sounds like Sirius
Mary*who already arrived* No, they were at the bar with me all day.
Panda*has a realization* Oh, they're dead for this *grabs the phone* Evan Rosalius Rosier!!!
James *whispers to Reg* his middle name is Rosalius?
Panda: Harry and Luna better will be here in 10 minutes and you two have some good explanation!
Ten minutes later
Evan and Barty*a bit scared*
Harry and Luna*happy kids*
Lily: Oh Merlin, I'm so glad that you're ok.
Regulus: And YOU! What were you thinking?! To take away OUR kids without telling us a WORD!!!
James: Where did you even go?
Harry: Cheeseburgers!😁😁😁
Barty: Kids eat for free at McDonald's today, so we kinda let them buy us shit.
After that, Barty and Evan were yelled at by all of them for 20 minutes each parent and weren't allowed to pick up the kids from school anymore.
jegulus picking harry up from preschool but one of the moms starts obnoxiously flirting with james while they wait for the kids to be dismissed. james is somewhat clueless, because he’s so social and thinks she’s just making polite conversation. he pleasantly engages while regulus is literally fuming right next to him. the lady is like twirling her hair n shii and openly hitting on james, while regulus is standing right there. so while the lady is complementing james’ figure, gushing on and on, “gosh, i can tell you work out a lot , you must be so dedicated!” regulus interjects their conversation and says, “yeah, his figure is even better when you’ve seen all of it-“
james jolts in suprise, blushing, scolding, “reg!” the mom looks towards regulus for the first time and sneers in a challenge. regulus shoots her a smug expression right back, reciprocating the challenge. it’s that moment when the kids start pouring out the building and harry runs out yelling “pa!!!!” “dad!!!!”. reg kneels, prompting harry to jump into his arms. when he does, reg swings him up with an enthusiastic “heyy buddy!” and “how’s my little haz-elnut?” while harry giggles. reg leans harry towards james so he can greet his son as well, and while james is busy cooing over harry regulus shoots the now sour-faced woman a wink before starting off with his gorgeous husband and adorable little boy. moral of the story; don’t challenge regulus black.

Jegulily raising Harry is one of my fav things, esp with little baby Harry and Lily tolerating no shit from her anxious partners
Like: Lily handing baby Harry over to Regulus for the first time after he spent the last month of her pregnancy silently stressing about how awful a father he was going to be because he was scared of frightening the baby or brainwashing him, just like his parents did to him. He keeps it quiet because obviously Lily’s struggles and needs are greater and he would rather die than take the attention away from his wife when she's supposed to be the important one. He tries his best to hide it but they both notice. When Lily is recovering from birth, Regulus tells her how proud he is and then chooses to make himself busy by gathering things for her and making sure she's as comfortable as she can be but they both know he's somewhat stalling having to interact with the baby. James holds Harry while she gets some rest and eats something and the two of them sit together cooing at him and guessing whose features they think he'll grow to have. Meanwhile, Regulus is fussing over the flowers in the vase on the bedside table.
They both try to lure him over, James tries to rub his back to calm him down and make him sit but in the end it's Lily that gets through to him. James cares a lot, he'll say what he thinks Reg or Lily want to hear bc it makes them happy, but Lily is different. She rarely says things she doesn't wholeheartedly mean. So when she demands that he sit down at her side and take a minute to calm down, he does. He starts apologising for stressing her out when she's vulnerable and tired and she just hands Harry over, knowing he'll instinctively grab anything she hands to him. She wouldn't have done it if she wasn't completely sure he could manage it but it still seems to come out of nowhere to him and James. She hands him over and Reg just goes into shock, looking down at the little face of his baby for the first time.
They sit in silence for a while as he holds him, still having no idea what to do. Harry doesn't wake up or make a single sound. Only when he needs to be fed does Lily take him back and James moves over to rest a hand on the shoulders of each of his partners, almost brought to tears by the beauty of the moment.
Lily should have survived.
“Harry was saved by his mother’s love-“ Let me stop you right there.
I present to you: James Fleamont Potter.
You’re telling me that James didn’t love Lily and Harry enough to evoke the ancient love magic that Lily saved Harry with?
Mr. “Had an ego the size of a lake but a heart to match it?”
He loved both of them so much that he literally died trying to give them a chance to escape and that wasn’t enough?
I don’t buy it.
The only semi-logical explanation I can come up with is that he didn’t have his wand and maybe you can’t do something like that wand-less but did Lily have her wand?
Even then we’re talking about a guy who literally became an illegal animagus at the ripe age of 15.
He also loves and cares for people so deeply and it was LOVE MAGIC.
Look me in the eyes and tell me James Potter couldn’t have just saved BOTH of them without his wand.
Exactly, you can’t.
Honestly I could go on about all of the reasons James and Lily dying didn’t even make sense.
This is just another thing that makes me question why they died the way they did.
Them dying on an order mission would’ve been more realistic. There were just too many plot holes in them dying in Godric’s Hollow.
In conclusion, the ending of the first war didn’t make sense. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

Guys this post is not that serious I just mean that everything about what happened that night and the explanation for all of it felt like a stretch and kinda vague to me 😭
Even with the stuff about James not having a choice. Like yeah Voldemort didn’t verbally give him the option to back off but James still made the choice to try and hold him off.
Also James was a Pureblood and Voldemort made it known that he would spare them if they didn’t fight him because his whole thing was blood purity.
So like the “Lily was given a choice” still feels so vague to me.
Also Voldemort making the promise to Snape feels weird. Snape asked him not to kill Lily but Voldemort said that he wouldn’t as long as she didn’t get in his way. And Lily did get in his way of killing Harry so he didn’t break that promise by killing her.
Yeah he probably could’ve just knocked her out or something but he still didn’t break any promises.
And the whole reason Snape joined Dumbledore before the end of the first war is because he didn’t think Lily would just let Voldemort kill her son. He didn’t make an unbreakable vow or anything so Snape knew that Voldemort would probably kill Lily.

Ron may have family (sorry JJ-) but they always choose him last. He’s the funny character and goes along with anything that Harry says. Unless he thinks it’s stupid, which is all the time. THUS, making him JJ.

he worried, and he paced, and half the time he panicked if he was left alone with harry for even two minutes for james to go to the kitchen and bring back a bottle.
james was phenomenal with him, a natural. james was born to be a father. lily was an amazing doting mother, it all seemed to come so natural to her. mary always made harry squeal with excitement the second she walked into a room. but regulus felt as if he could never be a good father. he never had a good example, so how could he be?
so when harry potter was eleven months old, and took his first steps towards regulus, who at the time was not even paying attention to him. and james and lily screamed in excitement, scaring harry and causing him to not only just walk to regulus, but run to him.
well, regulus figured he must of not been doing to awful of a job.
and as he held a now crying harry who couldn’t understand why everyone was screaming and being so loud, and clung to his papa with tear stained cheeks and soft coos. regulus decided it didn’t matter how terrified he was of being a father, because he already was one, and harry seemed to think he was doing a pretty good job.
