Worst art advice I ever recieved was that I should never use green in anything. (this was not in reaction to anything I showed them btw, just unprompted)
The reasoning was that since the human eye had more color receptiors for green than any other color I could never possibly get the shade and hue right as an amateur and therefore should never try.
I had to draw a mouse for work so of course these also happened
Last night I started thinking what if we stop using words like femme and masc and girl and boy.
What if we just said colors?
Like "femme" would be blue and "masc" would be red and neutral(nonbinary) would be yellow
And if you're fluid you can use purple
I made sure not to put pink in the mix to avoid baby shower stuff
So in my case, instead of saying I am a girl I would say that I am cerulean
I was thinking for purple-genderfuid like
And someone who is ultra manly as we would say now would instead be called crimson or scarlet or maroon or something
If someone said fuschia it would mean they're gender fluid but usually identify more as a boy. Something like violet would mean they usually identify as more of a girl.
I'm just using femme masc and girl boy as a way to explain the spectrum but the goal is that thise terms be eradicated
This will take a good deal of time though to get used to though.
I'm also concerned now with the affect it will have on art, clothing, flags, and any number or things
Like a tree is green so does that mean that tree is in between feminine and androgynous
No it's just a tree
Pr some art teacher will say 'this artist used chartreuse as a representation of themselves" which may not be the case
Chartreuse can just be a cool color
I thought this would a cool way to dismantle the way gender relates to sex because colors are on a spectrum and so is gender <3.

A selkie Trott! My family and I watched a movie called 'Song of the Sea' which dealt with the myth of the Selkie in a unique way- from story plot to animation and art style! I defiantly would recommend the movie. It gave me inspiration to draw some of the Selkie Trott. {🐚If you Don't know!🌊} Selkie's are from Celtic folklore, described as very good looking humans that had the skins of seals with them. These skins would allow them to transform into sleek elegant seals- gentle creatures as well. A male selkie was very attractive, able to seduce mortal women easily. They would shed their seal skins and head off to seduce 'unsatisfied' women. If a woman went missing from the shore, it was presumed her Selkie lover had taken her to his watery domain. Selkie women on the other hand, would often have their seal skins taken and hidden away by mortal men- stopping the women from returning to sea. These tales often end tragically, when the skin is returned often times by the Selkies unknowing child! Please respect artists!
