Day 24- Family/ Found Family dinner
TW- mild NSFW
The news delivered to Harry was very casual for the great deal of news it was on a normal nearing Sunday before Christmas when he was watching TV with a slice of leftover pizza in his hand. It was then when Draco was taking olzie, his beautiful but absolutely Maniacal dog to walk when he told Harry vaguely.
" oh before I go, We have to go to my family dinner for christmas dinner on Christmas eve. Bye " and he walked out of the condo before Harry could've even processed the information in his mind. It was an act in purpose. Apparently as it is, Harry doesn't tend to take family dinner news at the Malfoy's as easily as Draco would like and this time to escape his never ending whirlwind of emotions and panic, he dismissed by basically running out of there leaving Harry to be to register the information by himself.
And as it happens everytime Harry sat up and down a couple of town, mumbled to himself, complained in the air, grew a little panicked then settled down on the couch over again and Draco came just in time for Harry to be on the couch sitting with his chin in his hands.
" I see you've done being a Drama queen" Draco said as he walked into the condo and towards Harry. It was just another way of saying how Harry dealt with the information each time.
Harry rolled his eyes and turned around, leaning on the back of the couch rest " I know you did it on purpose"
" Yes because you worry unnecessarily " Draco replied as he stood in front of Harry behind the couch, touching his cheek by the palm of his hand.
" I do not worry unnecessarily, I know they still don't like me " Harry mumbled.
Draco knelt down to be on eye level with Harry and said " we've been going out for a while now and they've met you before and they know all about you, they've accepted you, they have embraced you and even treated you as sanely as possible, then how can you possibly think they don't like you ?"
" Well to begin they gave me a really hard time in the beginning. What if your parents change their mind ?" Harry asks innocently.
Draco smiles at Harry and kissed his forehead in a soft touch " I know they won't-"
" but what if they- nmph-" Harry's interruption yet again was interrupted by Draco's lips over his own making him forget what he wanted to say and by the time Draco separated and got up to leave, Harry was already swooned.
" Bastard " Harry blushed at Draco.
Draco chuckled at him, ruffled his hair and went into the bedroom.

When the day of dinner arrived, Harry got dressed up way before hours and in his attempt to wait for Draco to get dressed he managed to crease his pants which he redid the ironing of in the last minute that they were late by 10 minutes.
"Harry- Draco- I'm so glad you're here " Narcissa greeted them as soon as they arrived the manor and rang the antique bell.
"Mother " Draco replied kissing Narcissa on each cheek once as a ritual they've developed while Harry forcefully smiled at her and walked in after both of them.
Draco noticed Harry was walking slower than usual and lagged behind to catch up with Harry " Come on, don't be so worried"
" Is something wrong?" Narcissa turned and asked
" absolutely not" Draco smiled back at her. He secretly took Harry's hand in his own and intertwined them as they followed her after that.
" Is it hot In here ?" Harry mumbled to Draco later.
Draco rolled his eyes and shook his head.
" Is everything alright with Harry, he seems a little- uh- tense ?" Narcissa asked.
Harry cleared his throat at once " I'm good. Everything's good, just a little hot in here"
" Oh- would you like me to open the windows ?" Narcissa asked sweetly.
" No that's alright, I'll just take off my coat- Draco- why don't you take me to the room to keep my coat off in ?" Harry asked.
Draco seemingly was startled but took Harry to his old bedroom to keep the coat in.
" Are you okay ?" Draco asked when he shut the door behind him.
" can we leave already ?" Harry asked dramatically shaking his hand in the air.
Draco sighed, rolling his eyes then enclosing the distance between the two to cup his face in his hands " It's alright- just relax. A few hours and we'll be out, don't worry"
Harry visibly relaxed a little in his touch but yet not entirely " I still feel like I should not have came "
" nonsense " Draco muttered and they readied themselves to get out of the room.
As they walked down the stairs and into the dinning room, the table was getting ready with Lucius helping Narcissa set the table.
" and I told him- he can just skeedadle himself out of my shop and buy someone else's flowers- who was he to say he's seen better lilies in the entire area? I grow the best lilies out here " Lucius sternly said, proudly even.
" what happened ?" Draco asked as he got along to help with setting up the table even though Narcissa refused while Harry remained there watching them having their family time.
" oh nothing this stupid bloke came to my shop today and told me that he's seen better lilies, like that could be possible " Lucius scoffed.
"As if " Draco scoffed.
They chatted a little and laughed along a little and even though Harry was interested in listening, he wandered of watching the family portrait on the back wall and was amazed to realise how much they have changed. With war and everything, the Malfoy's had became completely stranded and abandoned and nothing of their own left but now, Lucius ran the sweetest little best flower shop in the entire town while Narcissa owned a lowscale yet stable botique and designed various clothing for the orphanage, costume parties, office goers and school robes. They had outdone themselves if Harry had to say. They no longer were the Malfoy's everyone knew of and it left Harry wondering a lot how much they must've had to struggle but Draco never talked of it, he chose not to and used to dismiss the topic with " the clock has worn out, live in these times my friend "
" Harry ?" Someone called him and he snapped back from his little train of thoughts and saw that everyone was staring at him.
" yeah " Harry pursed his lips as he turned completely to them.
" What were you thinking ?" Draco asked.
" Oh nothing, I was just watching that family portrait, I don't think it was there the last time I came " Harry replied.
" Oh that- yeah- we bought it back from gringotts. You should have a nice big family picture in the house you know " Lucius grinned. Yep, a total family guy now.
They soon sat down to eat dinner with little chattering and anecdotes constantly being shared between all of them which helped Harry relax further.
It was mid dinner when Harry was eating of his plate when he felt a hand over his thigh and he immediately turned his head toward Draco who was sitting besides him with his left hand under the table.
" What are you doing ?" Harry whispered.
" Me ? I'm doing nothing " Draco whispered back, clearly smirking and resuming eating from his plate whole listening to his mother talk about the cutest little costume she made for Annie.
Harry with much difficulty chose to ignore the hand over the thigh until he suddenly felt it sliding upwards towards his crotch.
" Draco stop " Harry muttered to Draco.
Draco ignored Harry and laughed at his parents joke yet again making Harry laugh as well even though he clearly did not know what the joke was. When he felt it getting very close to his crotch, he dropped his hand under the table to stop Draco's from sliding further but it worked only for a few minutes until Narcissa noticed he was eating with his left hand and found it hard to eat his food.
" Harry- just use your right hand why don't you ?"
" Oh yeah- ofcourse. Just a small blister on my right hand you know " Harry lied frowning.
"Oh really, let me see ? " Narcissa asked
Harry immediately shook his head " Don't worry it's alright. It almost healed anyways " He smiled forcibly and bought his right back up to eat which enabled Draco's hand to resume sliding until he finally in a feather touch he touched Harry's crotch making Harry choke on his food.
" Are you sure you're okay Harry ? You seem a little tense today ?" Lucius asked.
Harry shook his head coughing " I'm fine- really- I'm fine" he resumed coughing, Draco Patting his back to help him until Harry glared at him and excused himself for the washroom.
Harry was getting out of the washroom after having composed himself that he was immediate dragged into a room and pinned against the door as soon as he was in with a hand over his lips to keep him shut.
" I hope you were atleast a little turned on " Draco Whispered in the dark.
Harry pushed Draco's hands aside and snapped " Are you out of your mind or what ? We're at your parents and this is what you're doing ?!"
" I can't help it. Being here reminded me of the time when you stayed here the first night" Draco mumbled leaning down so he was breathing over Harry's neck and sweetly licked it, leaving Harry to incoherent whispers " remember that night ?"
" Yeah " Harry moaned pulling Draco closer in desperation by the side of his waist.
" Remember when my parents almost caught us fucking ?" Draco kissed Harry's neck softly.
Harry nodded, groaning " We should go"
" Or we could stay here a couple of minutes " Draco suggested moaning against his jawline.
Harry groaned then gained his willpower to push Draco against the door this time and kissed Draco desirably, moaning faintly " You're gonna be the death of me Draco Malfoy "
" Let's get this dinner done with "
Draco moaned nodding.

Day 25- Presents @hpdestress
It was Christmas morning when they both had woken up before time and were sitting next to each other, cuddled into the blanket with their legs intertwined with another’s. It was a perfect lazy day,to be just inside the house in warmth and drink hit cocoa and be peppered with kisses but the plans of the day had already been set.
“ Can we just not skip the thing's and be here all day ?” Draco groaned in Harry’s neck while he was kissing him softly there.
Harry tightened his arms around Draco and replied “ I wish we could but we have lunch at your parents to attend then the gala with the weasley’s. We’re packed for the day”
“Please can we just stay here ?”Draco moaned.
Harry sighed, creating a little distance between both of them, cold immediately invading the space between them “ Draco baby- please. We have to get up eventually”
Draco pulled Harry back towards him and this time firmly held his torso so he won’t try to it again “ Stop being such an obedient brat and stay here with me for a while”
Harry chuckled and wrapped his arms back around with Draco’s kissing his eyes softly “ and then you say you’re not a sap”
“ Shut up” Draco groaned.
“ This reminds me, I bought you a gift” Harry said.
“ Harry-”
“ I know you told me no gifts but I saw it through the window and I couldn’t stop myself from buying it for you” Harry cuts him off sweetly.
“ But rules were rules- I told you, I don’t need anything” Draco affirmatively replied.
“ Since when have I ever followed rules- but its not about you not needing it, I wanted to buy it for you “ Harry sweetly told him.
Draco sighed and sat up a little straighter “ Show me then”
Harry smiled and similarly sat straighter and picked out two small boxes from the drawer.
“ They’re small. I better hope they’re inexpensive. I don’t want you spending money on me so much” Draco averred.
Harry kept smiling as he handed him the two boxes and waited for him to open them patiently. Draco however with much hesitation started opening the boxes. When he unwrapped one of them, it revealed a small black box and the other one opened up to another black box.
“ I see you’ve managed to get code black” Draco frowned impressively.
“ Just open them already” Harry whined impatiently now because Draco was seemingly taking up too much time.
Draco rolled his eyes and opened the larger black box which revealed an average beaded pearl necklace and the other one was the watch Draco had been dying to purchase since months.
“ You- Pearl ? and the watch?” Draco said in choked gasp picking both of them up in his hands.
“ I know you’ve been wanting this watch for months so I bought you this and the pearl necklace, I thought it would look really nice on you “ Harry shrugged.
Draco smiled at Harry and hugged him after having carefully put the gifts aside.
“ You didn’t have to buy me these. They must’ve cost you a fortune” he said after separating.
Harry shrugged “ My love isn’t based off on how much I spent on you. It hardly matters to me “
Draco smiled fondly at Harry “ But you buy me a lot of gifts already Harry “
“ Because I like to spoil you- now please just stop being a posh brat and let me help you with the necklace”
Draco chuckled and handed Harry the necklace and turned around so Harry could put it around his neck and as he did, he loved it even more around his neck. The way the pearl settled around his long neck made Harry love it even more than when he first saw it through the window and even though Draco wasn’t very happy about Harry buying him a gift, he loved the necklace. It certainly made him feel confident and lovely with Harry peppering kisses along the back of his neck.
“ It looks beautiful on you” Harry whispered.
Draco visibly shivered with his eyes closed and biting his lip because of the sensation of Harry’s cool breath against his neck. He hummed whilst Harry continued kissing down along the length of his neck.
“ I love it” Draco murmured.
“ Really?” Harry asked momentarily moving away to get a good look of Draco’s face.
Draco turned to him with a smile with his hand lingering over the necklace “ I do but I just don’t want you spending more money on me”
“I won’t “ Harry replied pressing his lips together.
“ Promise ?”
“ I promise”
He obviously broke that promise in the future and with more incidences that happened in future, Draco gave up asking Harry to not buy him presents because Harry’s love wasn’t fitted into tiny little or big black boxes, It was in the expressions he held when Draco opened the boxes and the smile he’d lit up with when Draco would say he loved his gift. His love was bigger than any black box in the world. He could even buy him the most expensive building in the world and yet his love would be bigger than that.

Day 26- Hot chocolate @hpdestress
" Done " Draco yells from the living room.
Harry yells back a second later " I'm done too" and he walks into the living room with 2 cups of hot chocolate filled with marshmallows and a box of cookies.
"I've cancelled all my meetings and I've set the blanket" Draco tells Harry jumping up and down as if he was getting ready for a marathon. Truth be told, he was getting ready of a Marathon, just not the running types.
" I've made 2 cups of hot chocolate, already set a box of tissues over there and bought cookies to dip into the hot chocolate later so I wouldn't have to get up" Harry tells Draco.
Draco nods and picks up the remote " Ready to cry ?" He challenges Harry.
Harry set the box of cookies over the table and sat down underneath the puddle of blankets joining Draco with cups of Hot chocolate in his hand.
" you're the one who should be scared " Harry teased
" Right, like I cry like baby " Draco scoffed.
" Last I remember-"
" Don't " Draco pointed his finger at Harry who funnily enough put it into his mouth.
" Harry- eww- you're so gross " Draco whined wiping his finger against the blanket while Harry laughed at him.
" Are you serious for watching this now ?" Draco asked next.
Harry got in position and nodded " Bring it on"
" whoever cries first, loses " Draco declared.
" We both know who's it gonna be " Harry boasted.
Draco rolled his eyes " we'll see Potter"

" Are they both really crying over 10 things I hate about you ?" Pansy asked Ron who was standing beside him watching Harry and Draco cry in each other's arms like babies.
" Apparently Heath ledger gets to them " Ron mumbled eating another one of the cashew nut.
" Do you think they knew we're here ?" She asked again.
" Nah " Ron shook his head " They won't know for another hour. At least not until after they're done crying over Heath ledger"
" So supposedly if we steal all their money-"
" Nope. Never" Ron frowns.
Pansy nodded impressed and picked on another cashew nut and eating it away.

" Draco" Harry shouts from the bedroom.

" What's for lunch ?" Harry asked, smiling innocently, bundled up in the blankets.
" if you want food, be a dear and get out of those blankets and get your food " Draco rolled his eyes and left the room.
Harry mumbled to himself, mostly bitching about Draco, pulled up his socks, wore his ear muffs, wrapping his blanket around himself, he got out of bed.
" My- Jesus- don't you think you're wearing a little less. Perhaps another blanket would've worked better " Draco teased.
" Joke all you want. Cold blooded people like you will never know what it's to feel warm" Harry sarcastically replied.
" I'm not cold blooded. You're just too sensitive " Draco narrowed his eyes at Harry.
" oh you're one to talk about sensitive. You turn all red the moment you step out of the house " Harry argued.
" That's how a normal human gets who isn't covered in 7 layers of clothes " Draco told him with an obvious face.
" 5 not 7 " Harry corrected.
Draco rolled his eyes " Why don't you just do what you came to "
" We had Sausage left overs from a day before yesterdays' dinner didn't we ?" Harry asked looking in the refrigerator.
" You ate them as midnight snack" Draco told Harry, now busying himself with cutting fruits for his own.
" what about my burger take out ?" Harry asked, still looking inside the fridge.
" You were being very generous to Ron when you were tipsy and let him eat it " Draco replied again without looking at Harry.
" What about the sandwich I made after dinner yesterday ?" Harry asked again.
" Ate it again after you came from a run and I vividly remember telling you that you shouldn't eat that sandwich just after you had came from a run and you told me bug off and let you bath in the divine food " Draco looked up in the air, momentarily stopping cutting his fruits.
Harry looked out of the refrigerator to Draco" it was divine"
Draco turned to Harry rolling his eyes " you're not going to find Aladdin's lamp in there "
" How great would it be though to actually have the genies lamp " Harry dreamt on.
" there's a reason why it's a fairy tale " Draco reminded him.
Harry mimicked him nastily " You're such a spoil sport "
" I'm not a spoil sport, I'm just practical " Draco replied getting back to cutting his fruits.
" what are you having for lunch ?" Harry asked him.
" fruit salad " He replied dismissively.
" Can we share ?-"
" No " Draco instantly denied.

" I love you "
" And I hate you " Draco mumbled then himself leaned closer to Harry.

When the Sun met the Moon
Dialogue prompt. 1- " Did I enter an alternate universe or did you actually just smile at me?" || Fluff ||
Beautiful as the sky is, that day, it was extraordinarily beautiful with soft colour of purple and pink while the sun decided to bid its goodbye and corner away until a day new day arrives.
But that day, it was more beautiful because of the crescent of the moon and the sun meeting from the opposite ends of the world, one rising while the other drowning but only for a little time, they were both present at the same time.
It's funny how we resonate with the love between the sun and the moon when sun and the moon can't even be present in the sky at the time but only in exceptional moments like these, but, in reality the one we love, we always want to be near them. If we truly resonated with the love of the sun and moon, the results would be catastrophic.
And yet, here was another lover, an actual true sun.
"Harry, I'm giving you five seconds, If you don't get out of the bed, I'll throw you out of the window," Ron threatened.
Harry groaned "I don't want to go outside."
"Stop being a bitch about everything. It's a fine day outside, everyone's out by the lake, just get out of your fucking bed."
"But I don't want to," Harry buried his face under his blankets only for it to be pulled up by Ron.
"Really?"
"You can't just escape life." Ron sighed.
Harry sat down straight, taking the blankets away from Ron "I don’t escape life,"
"But you do. You do it everyday." Ron replied.
Harry looked at Ron standing at the opposite end of his bed with a hopeful gaze which is honestly annoying to Harry.
Harry stood up groaning, mumbling something to himself about how he couldn’t believe he was doing this while Ron did his victory dance for which he practically had to throw pillows at him to make him stop dancing.
Minutes later Ron had convinced Harry to come to the Black lake with him where most of the Eighth years student's were gathered, mostly the ones who enjoyed being outdoors before curfew.
"Why are we here again ?" Harry asked pushing his hands into his jeans pocket.
"Well if you had not tried to escape life, you'd actually know that we do a bonfir every Friday night with some music. It's sort of a part of making peace and getting along."
Harry hummed "Who all gather?"
"Just us bunch, a couple of Hufflepuffs, Ravenclaws and few Slytherins- you know all of them so don't worry." Ron answered.
The leaves crunched beneath his feet as they walked furthermore towards where the light was glowing and even if Harry felt like running back away to stay in his bed all night and probably just sleep away the entire weekend, Ron won't let him.
"Hello, everyone- We have a new friend-"
"If this isn't the famous Harry Potter-"
"Blaise"Ron scolds.
Harry rolled his eyes in secrecy. This is why he never liked leaving his room anymore. It was tiring fitting into the title of the "famous Harry Potter"
"Can I go already?" Harry mumbled to Ron.
Ron looked at Harry by his side and he felt pity but he knew Harry needed the exposure, he had been sulking away in the regrets of the war for far too long.
"It'll be good- I promise. Just do this one night and if you don't like it, I will never force you." Ron said.
Harry huffed next to him and then followed towards the inner circle where the logs were set on the ground for people to sit on and almost everyone sitting with a partner, friend or a significant other.
Ron quite surprisingly had taken his seat next to Blaise, who was tuning his guitar (oddly) and though it seemed weird, Harry knew Ron was telling Blaise off on something.
Harry settled down awkwardly alone on one of the logs and allowed the warmth of the fire surge through him. He instantly felt his body getting warmer and his mood uplifting.
Until, Draco Malfoy walked into the circle and looked for a place to sit and obviously, the only seat available was next to Harry.
"Can I?" Draco asked pointing to the empty seat besides Harry.
Harry shrugged "It's not like you can sit anywhere else"
Draco nodded then settled down next to Harry and crossed his legs soon.
They both were past their phase of stupid rivalries and were set on the path of acknowledging the other but they still didn't see eye to eye on many things but they were working on it which helped them to give another one a chance but there were several moments where they would simply remain ignorant or silent in others presence and right now was among one of those moments. They were sitting adjacent to one another for a very long time now, for the sun to fully set and night to take over but they hadn't spoken even a single word, however, had heard a couple of songs Blaise played.
While everyone chattered in their small circle or with their partners but they remained silent yet Draco could sense the tension, so could Harry but only he chose to break the ice "First night?"
Harry nodded "yeah- You?"
"Second. I don't like being in crowds,"
"Me either." Harry replied .
Draco nodded next to him in acknowledgement then as his eyes followed up to Ron and Blaise being cozier than usual he decided to ask another question.
"How many of all of these people do you think are dating?"
"Take a wild guess."
Harry rubbed his hands together then followed the sight of every set of couple on the log of woods "Hannah is definitely dating Matheo."
Draco frowned, "Fair enough."
"So is Celeste and Mache,"
"Really?"
"Look at their legs."
Draco hummed agreeing.
"What about Theo there ?" Draco asked.
"He's definitely hitting on her but the guy on the next log is also planning to hit on her." Harry replied.
Draco was impressed "quite an insight you have,"
"Tell me, you think Luna and Neville are together?" Harry asked turning faintly to Draco.
"They could've been if Neville wasn't cuddling his plant right now"
Harry chuckled beside him making Draco turn to see his short laugh.
"You think Ron and Blaise are together ?" Draco asked.
Harry shook his head, “Ron wouldn’t hide it from me if they were together.”
“And you’re really sure about that? What if he’s keeping his dating life private from you?” Draco asked curiously.
Harry shook his head then pointed at them discreetly “I know Ron’s dating language, that’s his flirting language,”
“So you’re a hundred percent sure?” Draco asked turning his head completely towards Harry.
“Definitely.” Harry replied.
Draco nodded.
“If you’re so sure about who’s dating and who’s not, judge me,” Draco smirked.
Harry raised his eyebrows in the acceptance of a challenge, “Okay,”
“I think-you are ready to kill the person sitting next to you.”
Draco shook his head, “Come on, be honest.”
Harry huffed out a breath and leaned forward so he could look at Draco who had leaned forward to be closer to fire.
“I think, you’re just waiting for the right person to come along.”
Draco hid his smile,”Really?”
Harry hummed in agreement.
“And where do you think I can find the right person?”
Harry thought for a moment, his mind looping around in spins of every time he felt his traitorous heart beating faster for Draco but had never been able to say it out loud, but only in his dreams. He let out a shuddered breath and in his head ran words of encouragement, ‘this is your moment’.
“Next to you maybe,”
Draco stared at the fire, his eyes reflecting the orange and yellow of the fire and his face looking softer than a petal in the light of the flame. He noticed the way his lips quirked up a bit until he was full fledged smiling at Harry, unable to control the blood that rushed to his face making him pink but he didn’t speak anything and so Harry decided he would.
“Did I enter an alternate universe or did you actually just smile at me?”
Draco groaned, still smiling and nudged Harry out of the log of wood.
“You had to ruin the moment, didn’t you?” Draco shook his head.
Laughing Harry took his seat back ignoring the little attention he had managed to grasp.
“I can’t help it- Its a default in me.”
Draco tried controlling his laughter but he couldn’t after a while and broke out in laughter that remained soft yet purely contagious and it made Harry laugh himself, once again. Hearing Draco laugh was the best thing he did all week, hell even entire month or maybe the best thing he did in years and it made his heart swell with what he felt for Draco. It made him think of all the sounds in the world, the most beautiful of them all but this, his laugh, it was more beautiful than anything he had ever heard.
And in the presence of each other, they forgot that everyone else existed and that was because perhaps it was easier to escape everyone while they were each other. It was a moment within a moment and they could live infinite of them.
Like said, the sky was extraordinarily beautiful that day and it was because the Sun had met the moon.

Dialogue prompt no.3- “Don’t sound so disappointed, I might think you don’t like me”
Humour|Witty|Friends to lovers trope| unestablished relationship
Draco huffed as he readjusted the duffel bag over his shoulder since it kept sliding down every 2 seconds and it was starting to annoy him.
“I can’t believe you’ve convinced me to come with you.” Draco grunted.
“I can’t believe you weren’t convinced to do it before.” She wickedly smiled.
Draco rolled his eyes at her and continued, “You know what I’d do when I get the arrow?”
“What?” She asked half attentively.
“Shoot you to another planet.” He replied.
She gave him a fake smile and replied, “Aw, it's sweet of you to think that you can even hold the arrow straight.”
Dracp rolled his eyes again.
“Look, whine all you want as a baby but you needed to get out of your home and stop sulking about your ex.”
“For your kind information, I wasn’t sulking about my ex, I was merely hibernating.” He replied in a matter of factly tone.
“Whatever helps you sleep at night.” She rolled her eyes at him comically.
Draco didn’t argue further with her because frankly there was no point. The thing was, Pansy wasn’t wrong. He had been sulking away, escaping everyone since the stupid moron of his boyfriend cheated on him only to avoid people with questions like how could he not have known? or when? or why? or how did it happen? he didn’t want to answer anyone especially because he had none, but when you’re a public figure, news spread like a fire. So almost everyone in the Wizarding world knew Draco Malfoy’s heart had been crushed into little glasses and he in turn felt like digging a hole 7 inches deep and burying himself alive.
To the rescue came Pansy with her glorious idea of taking Draco to Archery classes to get his mind off things. She had joined the place last year and now couldn’t bring herself to stop and when she made it sound like a piece of cake, Draco gave it a chance and here he was now, walking into the field of Archery.
“Señora Pansy,” The man greeted her and enchantingly took her hand in his own and kissed it softly in the most posh way possible.
“Always a delight Issac.” She grinned.
Draco obviously internally gagged.
“I’ve bought a friend with me, Issac meet Draco,” She introduced, “Its his first time.” She hushed to Issac.
Draco greeted Issac with a warm smile and at the same time scowled at Pansy.
“Anyhoo- lets get on with it-”
“I’m sorry I’m late.”
Draco turned his head toward the sound, and obviously it came from the one who had haunted his dreams ever so often, almost his entire teenage, the one and only Harry Potter.
Harry’s eyebrow’s shot up as soon as his eyes laid upon Draco and within a second, his lips curved in an impressive smirk.
Draco groaned turning around and mumbled to himself,”Brilliant”
He narrowed his eyes at Pansy, scowling even who in turn just turned away with a knowing smile. A perfect master plan in her opinion.
Everyone as announced took their place and clearly obliged to the instructions said by Issac himself. Draco heard it all very carefully and was curiously interested until Harry took his position next to Draco.
“If it isn’t the boy who had his heart broken himself.” Harry smirked.
Draco rolled his eyes, “If it isn’t the boy who still ends up on the first page of the daily himself.”
Harry chuckled next to him while looking down at his feet, then continued, “So, what happened? Married to someone else did he or cheated?”
“What’s it to do with you?” Draco sneered at Harry.
“Oi- new boy, focus-” Issac snapped. From what Draco assumed was when he kept mumbling something while staring at Draco, he was probably using slur words in Italian.
Draco obliged to remain silent while Harry next to him couldn’t hold on to his laughter. To make it easy, Draco as casually as possible stubbed over his feet, making him groan in pain.
This time Issac slurred at Harry.
When finally the instructions were over, everyone got into position, taking their bows and arrows, chalk clapped into their hands, hand gear put up for beginners and googles put on.
Harry had been putting on his belt of arrows when he he decided to bother Draco again who was in position and ready to shoot.
“Isn’t it your first time?” He asked.
Without looking Draco replied a yes.
“Don’t you want to warm up a little bit- cry a little or maybe call your father for that matter.” Harry teased taking his final position as well.
Draco sensed the lightness in his banter and replied him with equal part sarcasm, “don’t you have a little less brain to be in such a sport and a little too much of a mouth.”
Harry was impressed by his comeback. He chose not to reply anything since Issac passed by behind him. He set his hand upright and then finally continued, “You do realise this sport isn’t for kids? Maybe you should practice first you know or run off possibly.”
But before Harry could’ve teased further, Draco shot his arrow making it meet the periphery of the center leaving Harry astound.
"You were saying?" Draco asked with raised brows.
Harry nodded looking away, "Definitely not like a baby."
“Aw- Don’t sound so disappointed, I might think you don’t like me.” Draco sarcastically smiled at him.
Harry raised his eyebrows in complete surprise of the comeback as well as his shot. He soon turned away and practiced his shooting.
That was until Draco had almost used up most of his arrows that Harry interrupted again.
“Can I tell you a secret?”
Draco hummed without sparing a glance at Harry to not lose his focus.
Harry leaned a little closer towards Draco and said, “You’re a little too brilliant than most of the people in the class”
Draco finally turned to Harry with a tint of surprise because he had actually complimented him. When he looked at him to even analyse his words, Harry was already looking at him with a smile and with his eyes fixated on Draco, he let out his arrow, making it meet almost at the center of the board.
Draco was entirely too impressed but didn’t want to say it out loud because that would the facade of how he wasn’t absolutely swooned by Harry and instead he grunted, “Show off.”
Harry shrugged and got on with his play.
Even though Harry and Draco had been done much before anyone in the class, they were asked to stay back to keep the equipment's back in the locker room for having disturbed between the class.
“All your fault.” Draco taunted.
Harry shook his head, “I was trying to be friendly.”
“Oh- yeah. We’re amazing friends now.” Draco sarcastically grumbled pushing the last of the used board into the room along with Harry.
Harry couldn’t help but laugh, the simple short laugh which turned contagious second by second resulting in maniacal laugh.
“Are you nuts? Why are you still laughing?” Draco asked completely confused.
Harry shook his head, holding onto his stomach in pain but he couldn’t stop laughing. It was too much to the point that despite Draco trying to keep a stern composure, he himself was holding off his laugh.
“Why are you laughing so much?” Draco asked, short laughs making his way through.
But Harry still couldn’t speak anything which ultimately resulted in Draco laugh just as hard as Harry and fighting for air and to make it even funnier, Issac had found them and practically thrown them out of the place.
They ended up laughing for good 5 minutes even after leaving the place and ended up catching up for a cup of coffee.
Though It definitely didn't turn in an unplanned date (It did).

After all this time, always the same - Part 2
Mild angst/ hurt comfort
Rain patted on the patio with the soft whirl of a wind making a peaceful sound. A residual of dead leaf floating over 1 inch of water and reflection of the flickering light of the place burning in a soft yellow.
Harry revived in that rain, drinking his warm cup of coffee, away from everyone and gazing at the beautiful skyline of London. He drank another sip of coffee, the bitter aftertaste remaining but turned into a sweetness in given moments.
“Out here alone again?” he heard.
Harry didn’t need to turn around to know it was Ginny. He welcomed her in his presence; She came and stood next to Harry with her hand placed over the railing and in a soft physical touch Harry placed his hand over hers, rubbing it lightly.
“We’ve lived here for 3 years and this skyline still amazes me.” Harry gushed.
Ginny smiled, “The world is always changing, it’s something new everyday.”
Harry hummed along. She was right, the world keeps moving forward, we keep evolving,
And yet some unspoken things remain the same.
“I wanted to discuss about certain wedding plans, whenever you come inside can we talk about it?” Ginny asked.
Harry gave her a warm smile and nodded, “I’ll be in a few minutes. Gotta finish my coffee.”
She nodded along and with a small smile herself, she walked back inside.
Harry watched as she walked away. He adored her, her silhouette, her long ginger hair, the sound of her footstep, the curve of her smile, the sound of her voice, he loved it, everything about her and he might be the luckiest man alive to marry the girl he had loved for so long, after all that is what everyone looks forward to one day. His one day was in 2 weeks and he couldn’t wait for it.
He turned back to the face of London again and in the soft rain of October, he finished his coffee and went back inside to do the last minute discussions of the wedding.
But when the night came, when the sun had set and the moon had risen with the dark clouds hazing the sky, day turned into night and another day yet to arrive, he still lurked in the darkness of the night over the one last moment from years ago over the branch of a Maple tree nobody knew had ever even been there. The moment locked there that nobody knew of.
But now, everyone did.
He had been trying to ignore what happened at the gallery, he didn't answer anyone's questions because he didn't feel like he needed to and even if someone pestered him too much, he would simply walk away. However, It bothered him and it was evident but he didn't want to think of those days or reminisce again in the lost moments. Those days were over but ever since that one look at the Gallery, Harry had been unable to forget him at all.
It was easier before when they had not met each other for years, when they only heard of each other through someone else or saw it in the newspapers but now, old wounds had been cut reopen and blood flew out of them and no bandage worked good enough. Harry found it hard to not think about Draco anymore and it was worrying to him because he didn't like thinking of him anymore, especially after what had happened in the past but when he's lying awake in the night, staring up at the ceiling, he would run little circles over his own hand and think of the forgotten days and mourn over the lost years.
But things had changed, he convinced himself, things had indeed changed.
________________________________
As days spent away, the date of the wedding remained not further than 4 more days and it was suddenly starting to hit Harry that he was about to be bound to someone for the rest of his life and love someone till his lungs give out and just for one last moment, he wanted to feel free again.
"Are you sure you want me to go?" Harry asked for the third time.
Ginny pushed him out of the door and smiled "I want you to go, more because I need time away from you. It's sort of like a before wedding ritual. Now go- shush."
And the door closed with a thud and Harry was left with no option but to leave, though he was quite relieved to do so.
He drove of miles without a destination in his mind but some track song playing on the radio and cool breeze circulating inside his car. It relieved him off so many things, almost feeling like an escape he didn't know he needed and it felt amazing. He finally got the opportunity to see the outskirts of London that he had never been to all this time, the river that comes down the mountains, and the highways he had never had the chance to drive upon. He kept driving with his windows down and the music still playing. He took his hand out of the window and let the air pass through his fingers, and he felt them untangle from something invisible. He felt the breeze travelling through his hand to his neck, to his head and his heart and it unclenched him off so many things and it made him feel happy.
But the moment he had taken a halt and stood outside, leaning against his car, he felt the heaviness in his chest, he felt it clog and unclog and he yearned for something he had been depriving himself off for so many years. He told himself he shouldn't do it, but London have never looked so beautiful and the sky had never been more clear and so he hesitantly convinced himself that he would drive off to a destination he was destined upon since he was 15.

The fallen leaves from old trees crunched under his feet as he walked past many trees, and the sound that seemed to have been sung by the trees when the air passed through them. It was all too beautiful, the smell of the forest, the light of the sun that made it through the canopies, the sound of animals from afar, the dried up leaves over the ground, it was all too beautiful, just like he remembered.
He might've walked a couple more steps and there he finally was, under the same Maple tree from years ago. He smiled as he looked up and searched around the trunk for the step be created to climb up. It took him a while but he found it and climbed upon carefully.
He breathed sharply as he reached the bench and looked further ahead at the scenery and he was stunned to realise that nothing had changed, it was just like he remembered it, just the same that came in his dream so often, just like the one he had daydreamed of ever since he last came here.
He smiled as he grazed the bench next to his own and he felt the memory come alive in his head, the one from the last day.
"Are you scared?" He had asked
Harry nodded, "change is always hard,"
"Are you ?"
Draco nodded, "Change is always hard."
He didn't want to waste away time in pleasantaries or make small talks anymore, they already have lost a lot of it because of it, so he asked "Will you think about me?"
Harry kept watching ahead, not sparing a glance at Draco, he knew he would think of him everyday but he shook his head instead.
"I don't want it to hurt."
Draco nodded even when he was hurt, "I know I will."
Harry finally looked at him, his features so soft that wanted to caress his face but he didn't, he couldn't anymore.
"You will?"
Draco nodded, "I don't want to forget us."
Harry smiled, "We didn't really exist, did we though?"
But Draco had been far too serious and Harry knew it when he faced him and he saw the glitter of tears held back behind his eyelids.
"We did if only for a short while, it was everything."
Harry couldn't say anything, but he wishes he had, he wishes so much that he had that day.
Harry pushed himself upwards and took out his wallet from the back pocket and opened upto a picture of him and Ginny but today he didn't want to look at it. Today, he took out the hidden picture behind it and grazed over it with his fingers to the burnt corner of the picture that he had once tried to burn but had never been able to actually quite do it.
He flipped the photograph and noted the date "October 15, 1997", the same date of his marriage. It was the last of what he had been left of Draco. He had tried multiple times to throw away that picture that Colin had took but everytime he would look at it, his agony would flood inside him and he was push it away into secret.
He gazed at the Draco in the photo again, both of them cuddled together and he found himself giving out a giggle and he thought it was just that, but a tear blocked his glasses and he had to take off his glasses to wipe them off. His heart clenched in his chest a lot more than he had wanted it to and he pressed that photograph against his chest and he let out the tears he had never allowed to drop from 10 years ago, he finally let it hurt and it stung but he let it happen.

Ginny was helping Harry after dinner when she stopped him by holding his hand and made him look at her.
"Harry?"
"Yeah"
"I- wanted to say this, so just hear me out. I've been thinking and I am so happy that we're getting married In a day and I cannot ask for a better man but something have been worrying me"
"worrying you?" He asked confused.
"Ever since the day we came from the Gallery-"
"Not you too-" he huffed
"Please- just let me say. I've been worried that you've been different ever since. I just want to know if you're okay or if there is anything you feel like you want to tell me?" Ginny asked softly.
Harry held her hand softly and replied, "I am fine, you have nothing to worry about."
Ginny didn't look convinced but nodded anyways but she still went on, "Harry- we'll be together forever after a day. Like forever, you realise that don't you? It's not something that ends in a week or two years, it's gonna be forever. I want to know if you're absolutely sure about this ?"
"Gin, you're just getting cold feet about everything. I want to marry you alright. I've never wanted anything more." He assured her.
She smiled at Harry and then finally hugged him.
"I can't wait to be married."
Harry hummed and kissed the top of her head and yet, his mind lingered on the word forever. Together forever.
And suddenly he felt the heaviness in his chest again.
I had never quite planned on writing a part 2 to this but since I posted this on Instagram, i received a couple requests and thought as to why not.
Will have a part 3 though 😀.
After all this time, always the same
Prompt used- kissing the top of other's head| harry and draco finally meet each other years later at a memorial gallery, discovering some buried promises |
" I actually did not know Colin was this good " Harry said impressed as they walked the gallery
" really, who knew that kid was really good " Ron hummed.
" i miss that kid " Harry said as he drown in reminiscents of everyone who died in the war
" I am sure it would mean a great deal that you're here Harry. He always looked upto to you, he lived a nice life " Denis smiled at harry before he departed to he other batch of visitors. It was almost 10 years after war when one day a bunch of Hogwarts student's had received an invitation to the colin memorial gallery. Dennis, his brother had managed to construct certain photographs Colin had taken before he died and decided to put it into his memorial. Apparently Colin always wanted something like that, but his gallery Would've been incomplete if the people he had photographed had not shown up, so this was the reason why a bunch of Hogwarts student's had been given a free pass as a contribution to his memory. Harry was however saddened by the absence of colin. After all this time he still misses all those who died a lot. He learnt it the hard way that he will probably never forget any of them but he can manage to live with it.
It was however surprising how amazingly brilliant Colin's skills were. Nobody knew he had even taken their pictures secretly and it were all too great.
" hey, theres us " Ron said a little too loudly, much to anyone's liking. Harry gave them all a small apologetic smile before he joined Ron to see the photograph hanging over the wall of him, Ron and Hermione.
" seems like a different era, doesn't it ?" Ron nostalgically said.
Hermione nodded besides him as she put her head over Ron's shoulder. 10 years and they're still in love like they were when they were kids. Harry had always been fond of their relationship, not because it's his friends but because of everything it was built upon, the love they have is just for each other, and there probably had never existed other who had walked upon earth who they'd love them more than they loved each other.
" there's you " Ron suddenly pointed a small picture on the bottom
" oh yeah- that's me " harry carefully looked at his solo photograph. He wasn't particularly attentive, looking in some other direction as if he was watching out for something.
" that's forbidden forest " Hermione peeped carefully at the picture
" It might be the courtyard " Harry interjected as he took a few steps away to look at a few more pictures to avoid their questions.
" but harry I'm sure it's forbidden forest, it's the same place where sir- where you fought those dementors, I'm sure " Hermione egged on
" I'm not saying it might not be, might be. I wandered off a lot during 5th year but I'm pretty sure it must've been just the courtyard, Colin wouldn't probably enter the forest " Harry made a point with raised eyebrows. Hermione didn't seem to believe yet nodded forcefully, dropping the matter.
" there's a tons of pictures of you guys here " Someone said from behind Harry and before he had time to register to who it was, his fingers were already intertwined with someone and by the touch, he just knew it was Ginny.
" well he was quite a fan of me " harry smirked at his fiance.
" but still. It's like you were his personal models. Gotta agree though, he was great " Ginny said as she looked at the wall in front of them.
" he was " Harry hummed and walked alongside the rest of the gallery with them.
It wasn't until Ginny got bored of looking at plain walls just with pictures, she left to chat with other people. Hermione and Ron had collected themselves to the other part of the gallery, conversing with a few people. That meant Harry was left alone and he found it quite relieving even if he loved all of them.
He had reached the last of the gallery when his eyes fell upon the same blonde head he had abstained himself from seeing in years. Hundreds of flashbacks flashed back as he tried not to stare at him. It had been years yet even now if Harry passed by him, he'd know he still smells the same. As if he too had sensed Harry's presence, he looked away from the picture to his direction. They only locked eyes for a moment, a moment of weakness before Harry nodded and walked away. He sighed as he walked away, it has been so long, so long yet this feeling doesn't change. He thought staying away would change but it hadn't helped, not a lot to be precise.
Harry walked away deeper in the gallery until he reached the last of halls and stopped there, right there at the last picture. It was the last picture Colin had clicked after which only his broken camera's were set. Harry would be lying if he said he wasn't stunned to see the last picture. It was so weirdly ironic how the last photograph from Colin's collection was the picture marked with the symbolic representation of end of certain other things. Harry longingly stared at the picture, the moment running on his mind like a music reel
" this seems nice doesn't it ?" He asked
" it's more than nice Draco " Harry had replied
" Harry- i-" but he closed his mouth
" what ?" Harry asked him to continue when he was rendered speechless
" nothing " Draco sighed as he leaned back on the tree
" go on, tell me " Harry said as he climbed forward towards him
Draco stared at him long enough as though he was memorising harry deep within his heart.
" you're going to love me the same, right ?" He finally asked.
Harry stared at him, more confused than ever before he cupped Draco's face and said " of course Draco, always the same way "
" even if I do the most wrong in the world ?" Draco asked a strange shadow of sadness covering his eyes, obstructing Harry from reading his eyes.
" you- I- I-"
" it's hard to say ?" Draco asked almost hurt
" Draco, I believe you. I love you, I'll always love you the same way but the definition of most wrong depends on a lot of things but I believe in you, I know you wouldn't do anything that would be the most wrong thing to me in the world" Harry gave him a comforting smile . When Draco didn't say anything he climbed into Draco's lap and rested his head against his Chest, hearing the rapid heartbeats.
" you're afraid of something Draco " Harry said as he analysed his heart rate
" I'm afraid of the ruins " Draco truthfully answered because he was aware of everything he was supposed to be doing.
" ruins ?" Harry asked confused, craning his neck up to look at him, only to find Draco looking far away. He seemed lost.
" we can never be wholly together Harry, I'm always afraid, every moment of my life when I'm with you..I'm afraid you'll wake up from this dream and realise it's all ruins " Draco answered, his lips trembling a bit. Harry snuggled in closer to his chest, he knew he was right..
" you're not a ruined man Draco and this isn't ruins to me " Harry Answered
" am I not ?" Draco asked looking hurt
" y- you're not a ruined man but even if you are, you are my ruined man and I promise to love you the same way, everyday even if this doesn't work out, you get me ?" Harry asked empathetically.
" you must be a fool to fall in love with me " Draco finally said after a few minutes smiling down at harry.
Sensing the light tone Harry smiled up at him " then I am your fool "
" I'd rather never wake up from this dream " Draco smiled at harry lovingly then kissed on the top of his head and just then they heard a shuttering sound, startling them awake from their moment.
If only harry had known what was to happen, he'd had never gotten up and ran for the sound but he had and it had ruined millions of memories that could've been made.
" it's a beautiful picture" a familiar voice said behind Harry. He didn't need to turn around to know who it belonged to, he had grown up Being fond of it.
" while It lasted " Harry replied turning his head to find Draco was now standing next to him
" broken promises, some thing huh"
" I know I kept mine " Harry whispered avoiding looking Draco in the eye
" did you ?" Draco retaliated
" I always did " Harry replied more seriously now than before.
" oh hey, it's the same picture from your albums Harry- didn't see you there malfoy, g-good to see you " Ron suddenly appeared from behind them
" you never really talk about him. One boyfriend huh " Ron added Patting Harry on his back.
" it's because of the ruins " Harry replied smiling at Ron.
Draco turned his head towards Harry that it almost snapped. Harry had already been looking at him when he did, and for a moment just for a moment, everything had vanished from the room except them. The people here didn't matter, it was just them, finally away in their isolation Just with each other without their ruins. It was a moment of weakness where they smiled at each other knowingly that after all this time, always the same.
" Harry, it's your boyfriend from sixth year, the one in the album-"
" Draco, it's the picture from the album, your boyfriend-"
Astoria and Ginny's simultaneously said.

Hurt/comfort
There are instances, moments or days where it feels like time has stopped entirely. Its like a broken pendulum watch. All the time when the pendulum had to dangle, it didn’t, meaning the time never turned.
His broken pendulum were the moments he spent on that tree, only exception was, his clock never worked but every time he’d be at that tree, 5 days later, a week later or 20 or 30 years later, his pendulum would work only then and it would stop once again.
He’s afraid that he’s spent all his life loving parts of him on different days, just so he may never forget him but maybe in loving parts him on days, it had corrupted him because he knows he’ll never get to love him again and it was very clear with the wedding invitation he received. But now he wishes that he had stopped thinking of him, that he had not loved him on days when everything was falling apart, that he had not loved him every time he was alone because he knew, he didn’t love him anymore and no matter how much he might that he would, he knows he didn’t love him and that was the worst kind of pain.

“So you’re going to his wedding?” Pansy asked while she was helping him pack his things.
Draco shook his, taping another cardboard box and labeling it ‘books’, “I don’t understand why I should.”
“Because you’re invited. You do realise that this might be the most prestigious wedding in the entire Wizarding world?” She asked.
“And I don’t care how prestigious or grand it may be, I’m not going and that’s final,” He replied “Besides I don’t have a plus one if you remember that.”
“I’ll go with you. I don’t want to miss the grand wedding.” She excitedly replied.
“I’m not going Pansy.” He declared once again and Pansy defeatedly sighed.
Hours later he was done packing with only a few things left to go. Pansy had left hours ago and he was by himself with a glass of wine and soft music playing in the background, sorting out the memories in vial carefully so they won’t get mixed up when he came across the most familiar one.
Harry Potter.
All memories stored in one single vial, all of them.
It always confused Draco, how so many memories could be packed in one little vial that was so fragile. Thousand of memories, maybe more in just one single vial but then magic worked in different, beautiful and weird ways. All his loving stored in one jar of glass which could break anytime.
He wanted to see those memories again but seeing those memories again would give him a reason to stay back in London and right now he wanted nothing to hold him back. He wanted to start over his life in some place new, get a nice job, fall in love all over again and maybe forget about Harry for the last time and forget about the pain he caused Astoria too. Moving away was the only remedy he knew of. Starting over was his only scope and his fearful heart was accepting it.
When October 15, 2006 came, Draco was ready to leave London, forever maybe. He had planned to maybe never come back and he had made peace with it. He was taking one last look around his empty apartment, saying goodbye to the place which had offered him protection, shelter and what not for several years but his time had now come to say goodbye and not just to the apartment itself but all of London, people, friends, ex lovers, everything. He had nothing to hold him back anymore.
But as if fate had been written, destiny had been designed, magic had worked in that moment, his cat jumped upon the refrigerator and tossed of the wedding invitation he left to never look at again but right now, he inevitably picked it up and read it again. He knew he didn’t want to go earlier, he still doesn’t want to but when he read Harry’s name on the wedding card, he wondered if Harry had really kept the promise or not, he wanted to know if after all this time, did he still think of him, felt something for him, anything at all. He needed that closure because he didn’t want to remain in one moment forever, he couldn’t do that to himself, not anymore.
“sir? Shall we take the furniture?” He heard.
Draco turned around and for a moment he forgot where he was. He looked down at the wedding invite in his hand, then looked back up at the man again and nodded.
“You take the things away, I’ll be behind you. I just need to make a stop somewhere.”
___________________________________
He was at the last turn away from the destination of wedding but when he stopped at the red light, his whole world spun and something kept telling him that he shouldn’t go, that maybe he should stop. Maybe it was his 15 year old self telling him that going to his wedding would only bring him misery and pain, or maybe it was his self from months ago who had seen Harry in the gallery who had recently established that he still loved Harry, even if a little bit but when the lights turned from red to green, that he didn’t move forward. His heart was beating loudly in his chest and his mind was doing tricks on him, confusing him, telling him things he didn't want to know. He sat there thinking of turning around altogether and forget Harry from his memories but someone had honked behind him, bringing him back to his senses that he needed to start moving and he did, he hated doing so but he drove forward and he only stopped when he had reached the venue.
He had finally gotten out of the car and was walking towards the chapel when he saw people getting out of there and he feared that he was too late. He thought that maybe Harry was married after all and there was no longer a wedding to attend.
But then he heard,
“They would’ve never worked anyway.”
And that confused Draco which forced him to walk inside the chapel to find no one but Ginny herself sitting there in silence.
“Ginny?” Draco called out as he walked closer to her.
She turned her head around and smiled at him warmly. She pointed him to come closer and he did and sat down next to her.
“Weren’t you supposed to be getting married right now?”
Ginny nodded, her eyes shone with tears.
"Not anymore." She replied.
Draco couldn't figure what to say anymore or if he should say anything at all even but then Ginny herself started speaking,
“You know, all my life I’ve waited for this day. The day I would get married, and the one would spend the rest of my life with, that my wedding day would make me the happiest person alive, that maybe I'd have everything I had ever dreamt of but I had never, never once in my life thought that this is how my wedding day would be.” Her voice cracked as a tear slipped down her face and in the moment Draco wanted to wipe it away but he knew he shouldn't because some tears are worth falling.
"This was supposed to be the happiest day of your life?”
“It was supposed to be.” She replied with a small smile.
“Then what happened?”
"Love. That's what happened." She replied.
"But you loved each other, didn't you?" He asked.
"We did. We did so much but sometimes when you love someone, you have to let them go." She replied.
And he needed no more than that.

"When did you know?" Draco asked as he twirled his finger around Harry's hair while they were cuddled into one another.
"Know what?" Harry asked pushing his quill away so he could pay his attention to Draco.
"When did you know that you liked me?" Draco asked with the warmest of smiles.
Harry shrugs off with a smile, "Could've been anytime. I never noted down the moment I fell for you, I just knew I fell for my supposed arch nemesis."
"Do you think there would be a time where we wouldn't have to do this secretly?" Draco asked in all seriousness.
Harry could not have been sure, even then, but he liked to hope, so he nodded, "I think that maybe 20 or 30 years later, we won't have to hide. I just wish it'd happen sooner."
"And what if something goes wrong before out future arrives?"
Harry was worried, if only for an instant, he was but he trusted the man he loved so much that when he kissed his forehead, he took all the pain, the sufferings, the stress, the unprecedented end away,
"I'll love you the same."
"Always?"
"Always."
Promises are easier said than done. Most promises are often one sided and that might the harshest truth someone might ever come across but sometimes when you love someone, you don't look at those flaws.
And he too had fatality once loved someone and now he had one last chance. One last chance to know whether his love would win or die in ruins.
All his life he had made broken promises in the name of love, promised someone a future, promised someone a date, promised someone a holiday, promised someone to love but had never been able to fulfill it and he had never quite understood what was the reason but today when he saw that beautiful bride in tears who let her to be husband go in the name of love, he realised that it was all in the name of love. He was stuck in a labyrinth of loving Harry that he never let anyone in, nor let anyone out. He was his own problem and either tonight he needed a closure so he could finally sleep at last or a love story his 15 year old self wished for, the one where they have a future together, the one he often dreamt of.
And so he drove to the place he hoped where Harry would be.
And there he was, sitting on the branch of the Maple tree.
"I'm going to assume that you went to the wedding?"
Draco agreed as he climbed up that Maple tree and approached the bench while Harry made space for him.
"I even met your bride." He told him once he reached the bench.
"My supposed bride that is." Harry corrected.
Draco wanted to bring in a humour, a sarcastic Limerick even but he noticed how Harry was holding a picture in his hand. It was Ginny and him.
"I thought you loved each other?" Draco asked.
Harry smiled, staring forward at the view.
"We did."
"I don't understand what happened then? If you loved one another then why is she there and you're here. You should've been getting married." Draco said.
Harry finally turned a little to Draco and showed him his wallet with their picture.
"I once loved a boy. Around 15 to 16-ish. He was my whole world, whole damn world, the kind of love when you're head over heels for someone. If one day he had asked to murder for him, I'd had done it. I'd had killed a thousand for him. But we broke apart because he did the one thing I could've never imagined him to do but no matter how much I tried, I couldn't stop loving him, not even for his flaws, his mistakes or his betrayal. I could never stop loving him. That's what happened. Love happened. He happened. I couldn't do it and she knew."
Draco couldn't bring himself to say anything. All his life, he had thought that Harry had moved on but upon seeing him dressed in his black suit, runaway from his own wedding, he didn't know what to think.
"I'm a liar Draco," Harry said looking at the picture, "I told myself everyday that I didn't love you, that I didn't think of you everyday of my life, I even promised you I wouldn't think of us but I did everyday. I carried this picture with me everyday of my life just as a reminder,"
"You know how they say, your first love hurts you the most, it's true. You hurt me the most"
Draco kept staring at Harry, thinking that maybe now he'd say something again, that maybe now he'd add something but he didn't.
And then he took out his own wallet and showed Harry the picture he's been carrying around for almost 10 years himself.
"I keep this because it reminds me of a time I knew how to love. I've been with people after you, several even but every night when I go to sleep I wonder only one thing, Do you ever think of me and then I would fight with my own self because why would you ever want to think of me, the one who hurt you the most but there was this one little part of me, this one tiny little part of myself who wished that you thought of me at the same while I was thinking of you,"
He gave it a pause to breathe, to push down the knot that formed in his throat, to breathe a little and then he continued,
"But little part of myself loses everyday. I wanted to know why I could not stop loving you, I still want to know. I've hurt people in the name of love but I don't know how to find that answer as why you were the only one I could love."
Harry smiled lightly looking at Draco's wallet, "Why do we have to stop loving when all we have ever known is nothing but love?"
Draco smiled immediately. Harry had quoted him from years ago.
"You should not have left her." Draco said.
"I didn't. She let me go." Harry shrugged.
"Do you think I was the reason ?" Draco asked.
Harry nodded, "A little. I think after you, I only loved parts of someone and she didn't deserve someone who would love only her heart but not her soul and she knew that. I regret that I couldn't give her everything she had ever dreamt off but she's better off without me."
"Do you really think that's true?"
Harry nodded, "I also think I should not have lied to you the last day we met,"
"Then why did you lie?"
"Lying makes everything easier."
Draco nodded, "Then I stopped loving you the last time we were here"
"I stopped loving you too."
But they sat there for hours, this time there was no one to capture their moment together, this time there were no secrets, this time there was vulnerability, there was fragility, there was something worth sitting there.
Indeed magic works in the most weirdly beautiful ways possible but sometimes magic isn't the charms that spark out of a wand of a wizard, sometimes magic gets bind in the words between lovers, like a promise. Magic isn't always a charm, sometimes Magic is love itself.
And maybe after all this time, it's still the same.
This was supposed to be so much more better than this but I can't humanly function because I got sick. But I'm hoping this isn't half as bad as i think it to be.
Ps. Thank you @drarrywords for beta 💜( don't know what I'd do without you)
After all this time, always the same
Prompt used- kissing the top of other’s head| harry and draco finally meet each other years later at a memorial gallery, discovering some buried promises |
“ I actually did not know Colin was this good ” Harry said impressed as they walked the gallery
“ really, who knew that kid was really good ” Ron hummed.
“ i miss that kid ” Harry said as he drown in reminiscents of everyone who died in the war
“ I am sure it would mean a great deal that you’re here Harry. He always looked upto to you, he lived a nice life ” Denis smiled at harry before he departed to he other batch of visitors. It was almost 10 years after war when one day a bunch of Hogwarts student’s had received an invitation to the colin memorial gallery. Dennis, his brother had managed to construct certain photographs Colin had taken before he died and decided to put it into his memorial. Apparently Colin always wanted something like that, but his gallery Would’ve been incomplete if the people he had photographed had not shown up, so this was the reason why a bunch of Hogwarts student’s had been given a free pass as a contribution to his memory. Harry was however saddened by the absence of colin. After all this time he still misses all those who died a lot. He learnt it the hard way that he will probably never forget any of them but he can manage to live with it.
It was however surprising how amazingly brilliant Colin’s skills were. Nobody knew he had even taken their pictures secretly and it were all too great.
“ hey, theres us ” Ron said a little too loudly, much to anyone’s liking. Harry gave them all a small apologetic smile before he joined Ron to see the photograph hanging over the wall of him, Ron and Hermione.
“ seems like a different era, doesn’t it ?” Ron nostalgically said.
Hermione nodded besides him as she put her head over Ron’s shoulder. 10 years and they’re still in love like they were when they were kids. Harry had always been fond of their relationship, not because it’s his friends but because of everything it was built upon, the love they have is just for each other, and there probably had never existed other who had walked upon earth who they’d love them more than they loved each other.
“ there’s you ” Ron suddenly pointed a small picture on the bottom
“ oh yeah- that’s me ” harry carefully looked at his solo photograph. He wasn’t particularly attentive, looking in some other direction as if he was watching out for something.
“ that’s forbidden forest ” Hermione peeped carefully at the picture
“ It might be the courtyard ” Harry interjected as he took a few steps away to look at a few more pictures to avoid their questions.
“ but harry I’m sure it’s forbidden forest, it’s the same place where sir- where you fought those dementors, I’m sure ” Hermione egged on
“ I’m not saying it might not be, might be. I wandered off a lot during 5th year but I’m pretty sure it must’ve been just the courtyard, Colin wouldn’t probably enter the forest ” Harry made a point with raised eyebrows. Hermione didn’t seem to believe yet nodded forcefully, dropping the matter.
“ there’s a tons of pictures of you guys here ” Someone said from behind Harry and before he had time to register to who it was, his fingers were already intertwined with someone and by the touch, he just knew it was Ginny.
“ well he was quite a fan of me ” harry smirked at his fiance.
“ but still. It’s like you were his personal models. Gotta agree though, he was great ” Ginny said as she looked at the wall in front of them.
“ he was ” Harry hummed and walked alongside the rest of the gallery with them.
It wasn’t until Ginny got bored of looking at plain walls just with pictures, she left to chat with other people.
It had been years yet even now if Harry passed by him, he’d know he still smells the same. As if he too had sensed Harry’s presence, he looked away from the picture to his direction. They only locked eyes for a moment, a moment of weakness before Harry nodded and walked away. He sighed as he walked away, it has been so long, so long yet this feeling doesn’t change. He thought staying away would change but it hadn’t helped, not a lot to be precise.
Harry walked away deeper in the gallery until he reached the last of halls and stopped there, right there at the last picture. It was the last picture Colin had clicked after which only his broken camera’s were set. Harry would be lying if he said he wasn’t stunned to see the last picture. It was so weirdly ironic how the last photograph from Colin’s collection was the picture marked with the symbolic representation of end of certain other things. Harry longingly stared at the picture, the moment running on his mind like a music reel
“ this seems nice doesn’t it ?” He asked
“ it’s more than nice Draco ” Harry had replied
“ Harry- i-” but he closed his mouth
“ what ?” Harry asked him to continue when he was rendered speechless
“ nothing ” Draco sighed as he leaned back on the tree
“ go on, tell me ” Harry said as he climbed forward towards him
Draco stared at him long enough as though he was memorising harry deep within his heart.
“ you’re going to love me the same, right ?” He finally asked.
Harry stared at him, more confused than ever before he cupped Draco’s face and said “ of course Draco, always the same way ”
“ even if I do the most wrong in the world ?” Draco asked a strange shadow of sadness covering his eyes, obstructing Harry from reading his eyes.
“ you- I- I-”
“ it’s hard to say ?” Draco asked almost hurt
“ Draco, I believe you. I love you, I’ll always love you the same way but the definition of most wrong depends on a lot of things but I believe in you, I know you wouldn’t do anything that would be the most wrong thing to me in the world” Harry gave him a comforting smile . When Draco didn’t say anything he climbed into Draco’s lap and rested his head against his Chest, hearing the rapid heartbeats.
“ you’re afraid of something Draco ” Harry said as he analysed his heart rate
“ I’m afraid of the ruins ” Draco truthfully answered because he was aware of everything he was supposed to be doing.
“ ruins ?” Harry asked confused, craning his neck up to look at him, only to find Draco looking far away. He seemed lost.
“ we can never be wholly together Harry, I’m always afraid, every moment of my life when I’m with you..I’m afraid you’ll wake up from this dream and realise it’s all ruins ” Draco answered, his lips trembling a bit. Harry snuggled in closer to his chest, he knew he was right..
“ you’re not a ruined man Draco and this isn’t ruins to me ” Harry Answered
“ am I not ?” Draco asked looking hurt
“ y- you’re not a ruined man but even if you are, you are my ruined man and I promise to love you the same way, everyday even if this doesn’t work out, you get me ?” Harry asked empathetically.
“ you must be a fool to fall in love with me ” Draco finally said after a few minutes smiling down at harry.
Sensing the light tone Harry smiled up at him “ then I am your fool ”
“ I’d rather never wake up from this dream ” Draco smiled at harry lovingly then kissed on the top of his head and just then they heard a shuttering sound, startling them awake from their moment.
If only harry had known what was to happen, he’d had never gotten up and ran for the sound but he had and it had ruined millions of memories that could’ve been made.
“ it’s a beautiful picture” a familiar voice said behind Harry. He didn’t need to turn around to know who it belonged to, he had grown up Being fond of it.
“ while It lasted ” Harry replied turning his head to find Draco was now standing next to him
“ broken promises, some thing huh”
“ I know I kept mine ” Harry whispered avoiding looking Draco in the eye
“ did you ?” Draco retaliated
“ I always did ” Harry replied more seriously now than before.
“ oh hey, it’s the same picture from your albums Harry- didn’t see you there malfoy, g-good to see you ” Ron suddenly appeared from behind them
“ you never really talk about him. One boyfriend huh ” Ron added Patting Harry on his back.
“ it’s because of the ruins ” Harry replied smiling at Ron.
Draco turned his head towards Harry that it almost snapped. Harry had already been looking at him when he did, and for a moment just for a moment, everything had vanished from the room except them. The people here didn’t matter, it was just them, finally away in their isolation Just with each other without their ruins. It was a moment of weakness where they smiled at each other knowingly that after all this time, always the same.
“ Harry, it’s your boyfriend from sixth year, the one in the album-”
“ Draco, it’s the picture from the album, your boyfriend-”
Astoria and Ginny’s simultaneously said.

Day 25- perfect birthday plans | Day 27- Harry’s dance partner
Shirts and hickeys
Dialogue prompt 9- “Why are you still here?” “Because I care about you asshole”
"What even is rugby and why in the hell do I have to watch this?" Draco groans for the fifth time since he had came here.
"Its a muggle sport and you're here because Harry invited you to see, so would you stop being such an ass and actually pay attention. He's on the field." Ron rolled his eyes then rooted out for Harry.
Mid game, Ron had to leave because of an emergency at work while Draco was left alone to watch Harry get brutally beaten up by men frankly taller and much more bulkier than him. Draco was pissed to his bones that he himself wanted to drag Harry out of there and give him some brain because he sure was lacking some to have signed up for playing this game.
The ending of the game was the hardest to watch when Harry was bleeding to almost death and could barely stand up straight. Draco was practically sitting on air until the agony was finally over and he was helping Harry towards the corner.
"Are you absolutely mental?" He shrieked.
Harry, however, much to his dismay tried to pull off a smile, failed obviously, pissing Draco all the way more.
"You have not one little ounce of Brain in that place. Why would you ever want to play that deadly game? Ever?" He asked but he was rapidly casting healing charms unseen by the crowd.
"It-s fun," That was Harry's response that Draco didn't buy at all.
"Alright, I Just wanted to try it out. Also this guy at work I hated challenged me and said I couldn't play rugby and I wanted to prove that I could. But it's not even that big of a deal."
"Big of a deal, Harry? You are bleeding at like 39 different places of your body, your glasses are completely smashed, probably sure you have lost a tooth and your nose is broken and you say its not that big of a deal, What's the matter with you?" Draco snapped.
Harry pulled him beside him, forcing Draco to sit down next to him, "can you not yell at me in public?"
"Oh I'm sorry? Does it ruin your defaced reputation?" Draco rolled his eyes.
"We're going home." He announced.
"But there's another match-"
"I said, I'm taking you home and that's final." Draco sternly replied and Harry didn't have much say anymore.
Hours later of finally having covered almost every inch of Harry's body with bandages and Draco snapping every five minutes, they were finally done and about to have dinner when Harry did a mistake of trying to walk into the kitchen and help himself with a glass of water.
"Are you out of your head?" Draco yelled again.
Harry huffed, and then turned around, "Now, what did I do?"
"What did I tell you about not leaving your place?"
"I'm not baby Draco. I can take a glass of water for myself." Harry replied and continued fetching a glass of water when Draco interrupted his activity and took the glass in his own hand and then gave it to Harry.
"What difference did it make? I could've taken it myself." Harry said.
"Yes, but you're seriously injured, you need rest." Draco helped him back in the bedroom.
"I can take care of myself,-"
"No, you clearly can't." Draco cut him off.
"I can't take care of myself?" Harry asked, narrowing his eyes at Draco.
"You can't. When your stupid head could indulge in games as dangerous as those then you obviously can't take care of yourself." Draco replied.
"Okay- I- I've had enough,-" Harry huffed.
"I'm not a goddamn baby, Draco. I can take care of myself. It was my choice to get into that game, you don't have to yell at me every five minutes to remind me that I made a mistake. A few broken bones that hurt in my body are a clear indication of my mistakes but I don't need you standing all over me, guarding me like I'm some terrorist. I don't need your 'I'm here for you all the time', or 'I'll get you a glass of water' or 'what did I tell you about not getting out of the bed'. I have been by myself for a long time and I can take care of my own so just please do me a favour and leave me the fuck alone." Harry snapped.
Draco was however offended and took a step back, "So you mean I'm bothering you? Me being there for you is bothering you?"
"Yes- yes, you're bothering me with your nagging, with your 'do you need anything' and everything else. You're bothering me so much that it's actually irritating. It's so fucking irritating."
Draco's jaw clenched at his words and he walked away, collecting his things, "If I'm bothering you so much, I'll leave- and don't worry I won't be back. I don’t even know why I even try to do anything for you when all you do is pull up your i’m better off without drama."
The door shut with a slam as he left and Harry as relieved as he was, he was also guilty of having stirred up a fight between the two of them and he thought that maybe Draco would come around soon, in a couple of hours but he didn't and it made Harry more guilty than he had been before.
But then he thought that he would maybe come around in a day or two but then he didn't and he didn't even after a week. This had hardly every happened in the course of their friendship. Of course, they’ve have had fights, they’ve had plenty of them but never had once they gone on complete silent fore than a week. It was unusual of Draco and Harry was starting to get worried that he might’ve overstepped this time and was making plans in his head how he might possibly work around a way of fixing things with Draco.
It was not until a week later when he was wounding up his injuries from the match of rugby he had a day before when the doorbell rang and the moment he had opened it, Draco had walked in.
"Got yourself beaten up once again!" He Snapped.
“Not death- Just few injuries here and there, I’ll be fine.”
“You’ll be fine? I can see your ill out bandage making you bleed under your shirt and you’re saying you’re fine. You’re far from fine.” he snapped again.
Harry huffed, “So maybe one or two bandage is messed up but I’m fine otherwise. It’s all good-”
“Its not all good. Can’t you see? I don’t understand why do you need to prove your point to that stupid guy from work, whoever he is that you can play a deadly sport when all you’re just getting beaten up by huge men. It’s an entirely sick idea and you’re stupid enough to keep continuing to do this. I’d had thought you would’ve stopped getting beaten to death but seems you haven’t-”
"I’m not getting beaten to death-"
"Yes, yes you are. If that day I hadn’t dragged you out of there, you’d had been dead.”
“No, I would not have been and would you just, stop with the yelling?” Harry sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose, clearly annoyed by Draco’s constant yelling.
“I’ll stop when you stop doing this. Why the hell are you even playing it anymore? I thought you proved your point?”
"Why the hell-? I already told you last time. It's because of the guy from work- whatever- Why are you here? Why are you still here? Thought I cleared that I didn't need you." Harry behind his assertive tone however was much more glad than he could express that Draco was here.
"Why am I here? Are you still out of your fucking mind? It's because I care about you, Asshole. It fucking hurts me seeing you getting beaten to death by 6'5, 200lbs giants and your stupid self keeps doing it purposely. It's like you want to be dead and apparently no one would care for you the way I would and you have no care for your own and someone have to take care of you so therefore me-why- why are you looking at me like that?" Draco's tone had suddenly toned down with astonishment.
Harry suddenly started to walk closer to Draco, asking him at the same time, "It hurts you?"
"Well- I mean- Yeah. It'd hurt anyone to see their friend beaten up you know," Draco stammered, taking his steps backward.
"No one would care for me the way you would?" Harry asked stepping dangerously close to Draco who didn't had more steps of take backwards.
"I mean- I- You know- everyone takes care differently- and I-"
"You're so full of shit-" Harry mumbled.
But what happened next had completely taken Draco by surprise when he felt Harry kissing him against the door, with his hand fixated on the back of his waist to pull him closer and if Draco hadn't only waited his entire life for this, he would've been shocked but he had dreams about being pressed against the wall and being taken by the man he was just kissing and the real life kissing was so much more better than any one of them he had in his dreams. The rush of wanting to kiss Draco in Harry was something Draco had never felt in his dreams because this was real and because it was real, it felt so great. And he loved how ridiculously unexpectedly Harry tasted like mints, and the way his tongue was caressing his bottom lip enough to make it more yearning.
"Harry- we- we shouldn't-" Draco mumbled against his lips but he was leaning forward so he could still feel his lips over his own. A touch of linger because he was nowhere yet done kissing Harry but in the back of his mind, he didn’t want to sabotage his friendship with him.
"Shut up and kiss me." Harry had said and Draco no longer tried to stop the kissing, instead he let Harry take advantage of pressing him more firmly against the door and kissing him more sloppily with hands in the hair and moans on the lips, with a need to want each other more in that moment that they had ever before.
And they let it happen, they let themselves get mix in the moment of intimacy with drinks spilled, clothes on the floor and hickeys on the neck.

Dialogue prompt 13- “Are you flirting with me?” “You finally noticed” || Fluff || 8th year fic || Friend's to Lover.
The sound of the train settled down as the students got off the train and went over to retrieve the bags. It had been a delightful winter holidays for everyone but now it was nothing more than learning defense against the dark arts in the courtyard full of people.
Harry like the rest had been picking up his bag when his shoulder bag slipped off his back and he was leaning down to pick it up when Draco helped him up.
“Thanks.” Harry smiled taking his bag from Draco.
Draco smiled back equally politely, “Good holidays?”
“Yeah, you?”
And they walked back into the castle talking about what happened over their holidays while their friends walked behind them with a knowing smile.

“I’m going down to the library, you coming?” Harry asked as he put his books in his shoulder bag and slinging across.
“I think I’m going to call it a night.” Ron told him and Harry nodded and left the place.
He was looking for a place to sit down somewhere in the far end, away from the people with a stack of books in his hand, when he saw Draco sitting alone.
“Can I join?”
Draco looked up from his paper and nodded, making space for Harry.
“Alone?”
“Pansy didn’t want to come along. She said she was too tired from the lessons and I’m a little behind.” Draco told him.
Harry nodded in agreement, settling down in front of him, “Things have been a little too much recently,”
“Right? I thought I was the only one but its been hard keeping up with Ms. Plunett’s class.”
“Oh, who are you kidding, you’re the head boy, you’re almost always at the front,”
“Yeah, right, like you aren’t her favorite already. I can bet, even if you face plant in your paper, she would give you a full score.” Draco rolled his eyes as if it was the most obvious thing.
Harry chuckled, nodding along, “Lets hope i’m just her favorite student and nothing more, if you know what I mean.”
Draco raised his eyebrows and pushed his quill a little to the side, “Oh please enlighten me with what do you mean?”
“Oh come on, you’re doing it purposely. You know what I mean.” Harry said with an obvious roll of his eyes.
Draco teased him further, “I don’t. Please, I’m dying to know what you meant?”
Harry laughed lightly, shaking his head.
“Oh please, I really want to know how Ms. Plunett just gets lost in your green eyes and your beautiful smile, or how you talk.” Draco started laughing by the end along with Harry.
“She does not think that, I’m sure of that.” Harry replied trying to control his laugh.
“Oh, yeah, I’m sure she doesn’t. I’m pretty sure she’s always doodling in her notebook the plans to get you into one of the broom closets-”
“Draco!” Harry exclaimed, throwing an unused quill at Draco who could not stop laughing at all.
“Just do your work.” Harry tried saying sternly but he was trying to hide his smile.
“Oh- I better get to work. After all she doesn’t have a crush on everyone-”
“Draco!”
And then they finally did get down to work, knowing they had plenty unfinished assignments and a lot to look forward to this week. They were so comfortable working alongside each other that they didn’t even realise that it was past midnight and their dorm curfew was 11:30.
“What trouble would you get into? You can make up a lie, like you were on a round.” Harry suggested walking out of the library along with Draco.
“Right and how does it sound if I say, Headboy does rounds only on Friday?” Draco raised his eyebrows at Harry.
“Oh please, It’s not like its a rule-”
“We are marked.”
Harry huffed out loudly then pulled out the invisibility cloak from his bag, “Never tell anyone I covered for you.”
“Oh believe me, I won’t.”
They walked quietly towards their shared common rooms, even passed by a prefect around the corner of the corridor but managed to keep their peace. It was only when they reached Draco’s room, they pulled out from under cloak, Draco said,
“I- just want to thank you for this and for tonight. It was fun with you.”
“Likewise.” Harry smiled.
He was about to turn away and walk back to his own room, when Draco stopped him,
"Hey, would you ever- you know- want to just do something?"
"Together?" Harry asked, furrowing.
"Yeah, together." Draco suggested again.
"Like you want to sort of hangout together?" Harry asked dumb folded.
Draco remained silent for a second then nodded, "Yeah like a hangout. You and me, could go to Hogsmeade."
"Sure. How about this Saturday?"
Draco nodded in agreement, "See you on Saturday then."
Harry walked away after that, slightly confused yet appeased.
________________________________
When Saturday finally came along, Harry and Draco decided to meet in front of Honeydukes in Hogsmeade.
"So, what are we going to do?" Harry asked.
Draco turned his head around and then pointed towards the cliff behind Hogsmeade, "We're gonna go there and sit down and eat our cupcakes."
"that's all?" Harry asked.
Draco nodded.
"We could've done that in the common room as well you know."
"Yeah, but then it would not have been the same, you know. There's a beautiful sunset, it's a nice view. It's a good day to be out. Besides it's better without all the students walking around."
Harry nodded after a while as if he finally got his point.
They walked towards the cliff with not so many kids around and settled down with the best view of Hogwarts and the sunset.
"It's pretty." Harry smiled.
"Told you, it's a nice day to be out." Draco smiled back.
They didn't talk for a while where they finished their cupcakes and set the empty cups aside.
Harry had leaned behind over the palm of his hands and his legs stretched forward when Draco suddenly said,
"Has anyone ever complimented your eyes?"
"Well a lot of people says that I got it from my mom but I don't think it's supposed to be a compliment." Harry shrugged.
"They're pretty though." Draco said casually with a small smile.
"I don't even know the exact shade of them."
"Well, they're sort of emerald but like there's a tinge of olive green around the corners but it's also a little blue if you carefully notice." Draco replied, leaning in a little further so he was downright staring into Harry's eyes.
Harry gazed back at Draco and then suddenly nodded, "Thank you for telling me that. That was a very detailed answer."
Draco went back to his original position, playing with the hem of his jeans.
"Have you ever seen a sunset with someone before?" Draco asked again.
Harry shook his head, "Not like this. It's nice," he smiled. "You?"
Draco shook his head, "Never found anyone to watch it with."
"Really? None of your friends ever wanted to see a sunset before?" Harry asked curiously.
"I mean- sunsets aren't supposed to be seen with friends you know,"
"Then who are they supposed to be seen with? Parents?" Harry asked.
Draco breathed in sharply and turned to Harry, "No, but like people you want to see it with. And not your friends. Like special people."
"Define special people?" Harry asked.
"The kind of people you want to specially take out and see with. You can be with your friends everyday but there are some people you're not with everyday but you want to spend more time with them." Draco tried explaining.
"Ah, so, that's like people you like from afar but you don't hangout with them much?"
Draco nodded hesitantly, "Sort of, yes."
"So you don't have that kind of special people?" Harry asked.
Draco shook his head, "Not really."
"Why?"
Draco shrugged, "Can't be sure why."
Harry nodded understandably.
"Who else do you think have pretty eyes?" Harry asked.
"Uh- well there's you, then maybe- Luna I guess."
"She does have pretty eyes. I think even Pansy have pretty eyes."
"She does, yeah."
Then they went silent again and this time Draco chose to break it, again.
"You have unusually small feet."
"I do. But it's not like I'm that tall either so they're fine." Harry shrugged.
"I think you have a standard height. It's like, it's perfect."
"Why, thank you. You have a good height too." Harry smiled lightly.
"Your hands?"
"What about my hands?" Harry asked, closing in and bringing his hands towards Draco.
"They're- small too."
"They're not that small. It's only like an inch smaller than yours." Harry said.
Draco took his hands in his own and compared it, "They look cute." He chuckled.
Harry smiled again, "Thank you,again."
"You know, I noticed, you've been complimenting me too much."
"Me? No." Draco gasped.
"Really? I think you are. It's not unusual but you do it sometimes quite a lot. It's one thing I like about you." Harry said.
Draco looked at Harry for a moment then nodded, not knowing what he should've said.
The wind picked up after that, making Harry's hair blow all over his face that one last time, Draco took his chance and pushed it behind his ear while Harry watched him do it.
"Thank you. Again."
Draco shrugged and took his hands back to his sides.
"It's been nice to be out here with you." Draco said.
"Likewise. We should do this often." Harry said.
Draco smiled at Harry and nodded.
"Though, maybe we should invite someone else too." Harry suggested.
Draco reluctantly nodded, "sure yeah- I mean- yeah, it'll be great."
Harry nodded again but only for once, confusion came over him.
"You don't mind it though, do you? I mean I like us hanging out too."
"No, you're right. We should totally invite other people too." Draco nodded vigorously.
"wait- Draco-"
"Are you flirting with me?" Harry asked as realisation hit him.
Draco could've denied but he was done with how dense Harry was being, "You finally noticed." He replied with a sigh.
"All this time?"
"All this time. I've been trying to flirt with you since the begining of the year but you just don't get it. You know for someone who's supposed to be really clever, you're very very dense."
"How was I supposed to know you were flirting with me! It's not like you were making it obvious!" Harry exclaimed.
"Yeah, because you go to see sunsets with everyone and friends compliments each other's eyes. You're daft, Harry, like really daft."
"Are you still flirting with me? Because sarcasm is sort of your flirt language?"
Draco shook his head laughing, "I don't flirt with sarcasm."
"Ah- maybe you should." Harry joked.
They laughed for a while, holding onto their stomach for their dear life until it had finally dissolved and they were simply smiling at each other.
"We should do this again and I promise this time I'll know we're going on a date."
Draco fondly laughed, "I should hope you know now."
"I promise I will and you know what, I'll even catch up when you're flirting with me."
"You promise?" Draco asked, teasing.
"I promise." Harry crossed his heart.
"You have a beautiful smile." Draco complimented.
Harry gazed at him then leaned forward, "that's such a beautiful thing to say, I'm swooned-"
"Harry!" Draco whined.
But Harry tipped his head off laughing again.
"You really are daft." Draco shook his head but he still couldn't help being completely love struck by this boy who had absolutely no idea when he was flirting with him but then again, Draco would do it all over again, and again and again, because Harry was just worth it.

All the unicorn plushie's
Dialogue prompt 14: "if i die, I'm haunting you first" || Fluff || Domwstic || Humour.
"Did you find it?" Harry asked disheveled emerging out from the attic.
Draco looked up from behind the couch, he too looking haphazard and shook his head, "not here."
"Where could it possibly be? I thought you had cleaned up." Harry exhaustedly said and bent down to look under the couch as well, finding Draco looking through from the other end.
Draco sat upright and groaned, “Well maybe if I wasn’t the only one cleaning the mess then I would’ve remembered where have I kept it.”
“Hey, don’t play that card on me. We share work alright,” Harry pointed a finger at him, accusingly.
“Yeah, Yeah- We need to find it before she comes back.” Draco said defeated and they resumed their search.
After an hour of searching and miserably failing, Draco collapsed on the couch in the living room, his limbs sprawled outwards while Harry walked into the living room equally tired.
“For the last time, not there.” Harry said and sat down next to Draco, taking his feet upon his lap and slowly rubbed it with his hands to relieve some tension off him.
“This is all your fault Harry. If she kills me and If I die, I’m haunting you first.” Draco mumbled, then sighed in relief as he felt Harry pressing the pressure point.
“My fault? I looked through the entire house with you, even though clearly it was you who lost it, how is it my fault?”
“Well for starters, you wanted to take me out on a date and that’s where the root of every problem begun,” Draco titled his head towards Harry.
“Oh yeah and who came onto who? You practically died when I wasn’t able to take you out a second time.” Harry replied with his eyebrows raised.
“Second times doesn’t really matter,”
“Fine, if that’s what it is, I’ll leave you. Maybe that’ll solve your problems,” Harry shrugged, teasing him, “I’ll pack my bags and leave.”
Draco rolled his eyes next to him, “You sound like Lily whenever she’s throwing a fit.”
“Like father like daughter.” Harry shrugged, cutely.
“Oh she most definitely is your daughter. She even gets those atrocious hair from you. It takes me like 15 minutes to tie her hair every morning.” Draco rolled his eyes.
Harry swatted Draco’s feet softly, “Hey, that’s mean. She’s got gorgeous hair.”
Draco raised an eyebrow at Harry, challenging in a way to say ‘who are you kidding’ without actually saying it.
“Yeah, okay, Its like a bird nest but that’s our bird nest, alright.” Harry pointed.
Draco was too tired to smile but every time Harry says something as ‘Ours’, his heart swells ten times its size and his emotions overflow his glass of emotions.
“Our menace of a bird nest.” Draco smiled fondly.
Harry smiled back and continued massaging Draco’s feet.
“How are we going to tell her?” Harry asked after a while.
“We would need to rip off the bandage. There’s no other way. She’ll cry, throw a fit maybe, dramatically say i’m leaving the house, maybe even throw pillows at us but then she'll be fine. We'll tell her we'll buy her a new one."
"Do you think it'll work?" Draco asked.
Harry shook his head, "A hundred percent not."
Draco rubbed his hand over his face in exhaustion, "Why is she like this?"
"Because she's like us. She gets the Drama from you, and basically the attitude from you and me both. We did a very good job raising a child." Harry stifled a laugh.
Draco's face was still in his hands when Harry pulled his hands away from his face and softly grazed his cheeks with his own hands.
"It'll be fine. She'll be fine." He reassured.
"She's gonna hate us."
Harry knew this was past the level of joke and mockery, it was more serious than before and he couldn't help but straddling Draco so he could be closer to him and could look him in the eyes.
"Look at me,-- Dray, look at me,"
And he did.
"She's our kid and I shouldn't say this but she's the best kid out there, alright and it's because we raised her that way, our friend's helped us raise her that way, your parents helped in raising her too. There's not one person out there who I know is half as understanding as her in her age group. She's so phenomenal that I doubt if she is even our child but she so is and I think we're doing a really great job raising her the way we are. She doesn't hate us, alright. She can never hate us. She loves us so much that she have destroyed every corner of the house walls with drawings of all of us together and that doesn't say she hates us, infact it's the opposite, so pull yourself together and be prepared for her wraith-"
Draco swatted him in the end, laughing as well but then embraced Harry in a hug.
"We're good parents." He agreed and Harry hummed.
"Come on, we need to prepare our lie." Harry said as he pulled himself up from Draco's lap and stood before him.
"You'll lie to her-"
"Why me? You lost it-"
"Yes but she clearly loves you more--"
"That is absolutely no excuse. She loves us equally." Harry narrowed his eyes at Draco.
"She just said last night, she loves you 3000 and she loves me 2000. That's a 1000 more." Draco shrugged suggestively.
"Oh that's bullshit Malfoy- Potter. We'll do it together, alright. Deal?"
"Deal."
And just then the bell rung and the door swung open with Lily running inside with her bag and Ron following up behind her, yelling for something as well.
Harry and Draco pulled by each other's side and waited for Lily to run to them, because she was going to.
"How was the day for my darling?" Harry asked as he kneeled on the ground, opening his arms for her.
"It was-"
"Daddy have something to tell you. Harry-"
Harry narrowed his eyes at Draco. He'll deal with his deal breaker of a husband later.
"Honey you were saying!?" Harry asked, picking her up in his arms.
"It was wonderful. Uncle Ron did a great job at being my tea party member. He even got a gold star from me." Lily replied enthusiastically.
Ron sighed from the corner and showed his wrist.
"That's the highest ovation Ron. Even Draco doesn't have a gold star yet." Harry told him.
Ron nodded and was helped by Draco to unpack Lily's things.
"Okay honey- We- I mean I want to tell you something,"
"Okay." She said with her big doe eyes staring right into Harry's soul.
"You know your Unicorn plushie. The one you love so much- well- we-"
"We were planning of getting one for each of us." Draco cut him off, holding the unicorn plushie in his hands, a look of relief swarming his face.
Draco walked towards Harry and took her in his arms and said, "We'll each get one and then we'll have a unicorn fight-" he said tickling her, making her giggle.
Harry breathed deeply, he too relieved and watched Lily giggling in Draco's arms.
And then he joined them as well, tickling Lily along with Draco.
"Now you know how it feels when you tickle Daddy in the morning-"
"But it's always Papa's idea." Lily continued laughing.
"Oh is it?" Harry asked looking at Draco, who now had stopped tickling Lily and was planning his master escape.
He put her down on the ground and nervously smiled at Harry.
"Lily- Run-" he screamed just then Harry started running behind them in the entire house, chasing them. And at some point, Ron got involved as well, running for his dear life.
And that was just a typical Sunday in the Malfoy- Potter household.

Wish I were Heather
Dialogue prompt 21 - “Don’t ask her out again, please... you’re killing me every single time you ask that.”
TW- Hurt/comfort ||Post breakup
I heard from you late night in the middle of the June, that was the last I heard your voice or saw your face before you came back to the city. News had started flowing here and around about you, flashlines saying "The Golden boy returning after disappearance?" much before your arrival, much before I had even saw the headlines but I thought they were fake until I saw the headlines again "The boy who lived back in action". I don't know whether I was upset that day when I saw the news because you didn't choose to call me like you used to or whether I was angry that I found out that way or if I felt indifferent because you weren't a part of my life, I didn't quite know. But whatever it was, I knew you coming back was a change I wasn't ready for.
When I was a kid of 4 year's old, I used to think that the world ended where there wasn't my house or my school, I didn't used to think of the towns in the periphery of the country or the outskirts, I thought they didn't exist at all but then I also thought that love didn't exist either until you happened and you changed everything there was in me. You became my shine, my armour, my shield, my breath,my heart beat, my world, everything. I thought you were my world, just like I used to think of my world as a 4 year kid. There were no outskirts, or towns in periphery, in that world it was only you and me but now, the periphery is all we have. I see you, from the outskirts of my world.
I would walk down my supermarkets, see the newspaper's, newsletters, magazines with your face on front, everyone rejoicing as if a lost King had returned to the kingdom but I walked past them because I didn't need to know of your life, the life you knit for yourself somewhere across the globe or what your future held for you anymore, I don't think I wanted to know either but then it was like a flap of a moth that everything changed and suddenly there was you, with everything you still had of mine, my heart, my soul, my love and you asked me if we could talk. I couldn't say no and we talked for hours, our past, our present, our unknown unraveling future, our apartments, our friend's, our families, my job, your job, my cat and your dog, the new fences in my garden, the new polished surface of your flat, your visits to different part of the worlds, the taste of coffee and tea in other countries, the humongous libraries you visited and artisans you met and the international friends you made. We talked about everything and yet it wasn't enough because talking to you was like staring at the moon, I never want to stop.
And I knew I was right, you were a change in my life, yet again, I wasn't ready for.
It was so easy for you to pick off with people right where you left off, or start a new charity, or meet new people everyday, or to get into new business, or engage with muggles, or do interviews, or go on runs. It seemed effortless when I saw you, like you were a natural but then I think you were always a natural, maybe it was one of the reason why I loved you. And so effortlessly you were there wanting to be my friend again, how could I had denied, you had my oxygen.
But then I forgot that maybe you didn’t want anything more than a couple of Hi’s, awkward conversations in the isle of the departmental store or a couple of phone calls that’d only last for 10 minutes. I wasn’t ready for what was coming. It wasn’t like the calm before a storm, It was much rather like the autumn sunsets before the winter nights. You were there and I was there and so was everyone, right there back at the diner, having a dinner late night after work before the weekend when things spurred on the table and we landed talking about relationships.
“Come on, there has to be someone, we’re your friends, Harry. Don’t hide it from us.” Ron had teased gulping right after a huge sip of his beer.
The echos of laughter, the savage sounds, the enthused smiles came over everyone’s face but me and then you gave your shy smile, confirming to everyone that there was someone. I felt my heart plunge.
“Well there is this girl. She’s a volunteer at the charity house and we’ve been getting along pretty well and we definitely hit on each other a lot but when I asked her out, she said we should wait for a while. It’s going good but I don’t know yet.” You had shrugged with a calm blush on your face. You were thinking of her and it made you smile, it made you happy and that somewhere made me want to die.
And everything after that was about you and that girl. I was happy for you, I really was but for just once I was hoping that there would be someone who noticed that I was staring out of the window towards the bridge at the couple hugging before they departed separate ways. And I thought I needed someone to acknowledge that but no, when I felt Hermione’s hand brush against my closed fist as a sign to ask if I were okay, I realized, It was your acknowledgement I needed. It was your gaze I yearned for, It was your affirmations I needed but you were there, and yet you weren’t there for me.
When I used to be with you before this happened, I always wished that time would slow down, if only for a couple minutes, a few seconds, just so I could hold your hand a little longer but now every passing second, I wished it’d end sooner because I don’t think I could’ve taken you talking about that girl or you pretending that we never existed, maybe it didn’t to you, it did for me.
I thought your feeble crush on that girl would last a few weeks because she repeatedly kept turning you down, I thought that maybe you would give up but now I think maybe her turning you down was nothing but a fuel for your engine to run. I looked at you more often than not, I stared at you for insane amount of duration while you would be there talking to that girl, your hands brushing, a curious yet soft and lovable eye contact between the two of you and the endless smiles you both had, and I hated to say this to myself, you looked happy.
There were even days you were in my dreams and we’d do nothing but talk because instead of that girl, it was me, it was me your hands would brush against, it was me you kept looking for reasons to touch my arm, it was me you kept fondly smiling at, it was me instead of her but then my dreams would crash the moment i’d wake up and pretending that you were here with me, i’d say “Don’t ask her out again... You’re killing every single time you ask that.”
But you weren’t there to listen, you couldn’t listen to the shatter of my heart.
And then one day when I was walking by a coffee shop near your charity center and I saw you from the opposite side of the road. I had almost taken my step to greet you from the window but then I saw her. She walked with a croissant in her hand and gave one to you and one for her and I only looked at the two of you, the hands brushing again until you had interlocked the fingers together and the crimson blush on both of your faces, a soft yet big smile on both of your faces, even your legs were intertwined beneath the table.
And I couldn’t look away.
She was Heather, she was everything I wanted to be, she was everything I couldn’t be and that’s why you wanted her and not me, and because I know you wanted her, I couldn’t hate her, not even a for a minute, not even for a second, not even for a single moment, not even a little bit, not even at all. You looked happier, more than you ever were with me because that means I was never what you needed or ever wanted but you said I was. She bought those things out in you I never could, I had never seen you smile so much and I knew it wasn’t the smile you have when you start seeing someone, it was a smile that said you were really happy, happier than you had ever been in your entire life, it was a smile of when you’re in love. You made promises to me that I was everything you ever needed, that I was the one who bought out the life in you, that I made you the happiest you have ever been, you said I made you want to live and not just exist in mortality but now seeing you entangled into her, I knew I wasn’t what you thought I was for because If I were it, if I really were everything you ever wanted, you ever needed, then there would’ve never been a Her. Then it would have only been you and me and our world with no outskirts.
But now, I didn’t even want the periphery to live, I didn’t want the outskirts because you were kissing her and I was watching you and I heard my heart drop down from a high building and remain into nothing but scatterer fragments over the ground. It was broken, more than it already had been.
She made you happy and I have to live with it. And maybe I’ll live, if only a little, I think I will.
But I will always live wishing that I were her, wishing I were Heather.

Everything a lover does- Part 3
As discreetly as possible, Harry left Narcissa and Lucius to care for their own accords while he went out to look for Draco, whom after looking through the entire building found him at the roof of the building.
Harry paced softly towards Draco, “Hey.”
Draco didn’t turn but Harry knew he had acknowledged him.
“You okay?” Harry asked.
Draco took a deep breath then turned a little to Harry standing besides him with his hands in his pocket, “I’m fine.”
But Harry knew better. He knew nothing about Draco was fine, he was far from it but he also knew that Draco didn’t want to tell him the truth. So, he tried to lighten the situation,
“Sebastian was some guy, huh?”
But it obviously didn't work.
“Look, I’m sorry about what happened inside but you have to say-”
“This is why I do it.” Draco finally spoke cutting Harry off mid sentence.
Harry took it as his cue to be silent and listen to what Draco had to say.
“You said the the other day that I do everything my parent’s suggest or say, it’s because of this. To save myself from the embarrassment of not having my life together.”
Out of everything Harry could question, he questioned this, “You don’t?”, because somehow all his life, Draco seemed like a person who had his life together.
Draco shook his head with a small sober smile, “Nothing about my life is together. At least not since Sebastian.”
They remained silent for moments that carried because silence in itself seemed like the weight of the world to carry on but then that was it, wasn’t it, silence was far too heavy to not be broken.
“I didn’t know you were almost married.” Harry said suddenly.
Draco’s head dropped down, drawing circles with his feet. He cleared his throat and said, “Yeah, well. We never talk about almost’s though, do we?“
We never do talk about the almost’s and maybe we should but nobody wants to hear about the almost’s, everyone wants to know exactly what happened and what exactly didn’t. We’re all in a hurry, always but tonight maybe for once, Harry wasn’t. For once looking at a Draco dwelling in his past, he decided the world can wait a few more minutes.
“Tell me about your almost.”
Draco looked at him quizically because it was Harry, the same man who never wanted to help Draco to begin with and now he wanted to hear an almost story he had tucked away under layers. But Harry didn’t budge, not even a little, so, he had no choice but to go on,
“He was always my almost- i never wanted him to be but everything about with him was an almost. Like he almost said the words to me, he almost proposed me, he almost met me, he almost married me. He never could complete what he promised and I knew the day I proposed him that I was setting myself up for a heart break but I was in too deep to realise it. My parents never approved of Sebastian and I always thought it was because he was a muggle but then they told me it was because they knew we’d never last. I didn’t want to believe it obviously and we decided to elope and marry but when I was standing at the altar alone waiting for him to show up, he didn’t, not after a few minutes, not after 40 minutes, not after hours, days or years. He never showed up. I realised that he only wanted to elope with me but he never wanted me, he almost wanted me. After that I just- got messed up. I thought that my parents approval then mattered the most or they knew what's best for me but now it’s like I’m setting myself up for unhappiness all the time. It’s tragic.”
It was concerning to Harry how casually Draco had said everything, how causally he had told the story without a fickle of hesitation or a stumble or a small cry. Nothing happened. Draco just kept staring far ahead at the skyline while Harry kept looking at Draco. Today when he saw Draco, for the first time, blend in the naked night sky, Harry realised Draco seemed so perfectly still like the sky in the sense that today he finally allowed himself to look at Draco without a pair of fogginess blocking his vision, today he allowed himself to take off his invisible glasses of hatred and allowed himself to look at Draco.
“I hate almost’s.”
Draco couldn’t help but smile, turning to Harry a little, “You hate them?”
“Almost never gives us the full opportunity to discover the potential there’s left to offer.”
Draco kept looking at Harry for a while who himself kept looking at him with a strange sense of comfort forming between. Draco had never been distant from someone yet felt so close and he couldn’t exactly understand why. Yes, he had spent time with Harry before but this, tonight, it was something different. Tonight, Harry himself seemed different, he didn’t seem like someone who came to a dinner to finish the deal, tonight he seemed like, Harry. The Harry he had heard of.
And though maybe it was clearly wrong but looking at Harry staring right back at him, Draco couldn’t refrain himself from kissing Harry. Maybe it was just a brief moment of weakness but when Draco leaned closer towards Harry, his hands lingering to touch his arms, Harry, himself got closer to Draco and kissed him back with equal passion. But it was only a brief moment of weakness when Draco broke out of it, realizing what a terribly wrong thing he had done but right there in that instant, it felt incredibly right.
“I- I need to go.” Harry had abruptly said when they broke apart and stumbled on his way out and no matter how much Draco called for him, no matter how much Draco had wanted to run after him and obliviate Harry, he knew it wasn’t going to make a difference because he had kissed Harry Potter and now he had to deal with the consequences.
However, he didn’t see Harry the next day, he didn’t expect to see him either way, not after what had happened but he wished that just for once, Harry would pick up his call, so he could apologize for the stupid kiss but Harry didn’t, nor Draco even believed he was at his home so he could just go to his place and apologize.
Draco can’t exactly pin the reason why he kissed Harry or why it felt right kissing him but all he knew that whatever hail storm that had aroused within him wasn’t the sign of the best thing. But Draco doesn’t want to blame only his own self for his mistake, he holds Harry equally responsible for it. He knew he didn’t romantically feel anything for Harry or so he made himself believe but the days he spent with Harry had made him wonder about him in a 360 rotation. In the littlest of the time they spent together, Draco had learned things about Harry that he was sure he wasn’t supposed to but perhaps that was another form of intimacy they shared.
The whole idea of 7 days before Valentine was among the most stupidest idea Draco ever had but the gesture offered by Harry, the things Harry did only for the sake of it, they didn’t entirely seemed unattached from heart. Like Harry wasn’t supposed to send pick up lines with the gifts, Harry wasn’t supposed to send romantic notes with all the gifts, Harry wasn’t supposed to spend so much time with Draco, Harry wasn’t supposed to have dinners with Draco, Harry wasn’t supposed to get down on his one knee for Draco, Harry wasn’t supposed to kiss Draco back that night and he definitely wasn’t supposed to cause Draco to yearn for the feeling of homeliness he felt because of Harry and the other plenty things he felt for Harry. He wished whatever entanglement he was feeling because of Harry would soon resolve because he didn’t like thinking of Harry so much, whether it was an attempt out of unborn love or whether it was out of hatred, he hadn’t quite figured out yet.
What he didn’t expect was Harry to show up on his door the date of the wedding.
“wh- what are you doing here?” Draco asked as he closed the door behind him to get some privacy.
“Finishing the deal.” Harry shrugged casually.
“Well we did kind of break the deal.” Draco hinted the other night.
“Oh yeah- I got tangled up into things yesterday so I couldn’t do the great gesture but this is the last,so, let’s just get it done with.” Harry suggested.
Draco frowned, had Harry already forgotten about what happened the other day or was it that when it happened Harry was too drunk to make sense of what had happened or was Draco too drunk the other night that he cooked up in his head all night, clearly there was drinking that night, just enough to make someone forget things.
“I- alright. Why don’t you come inside then?” Draco asked.
Harry hesitated for a moment then nodded and soon they walked inside the door, past the guest room Narcissa and Lucius were staying in and into his room.
“You’ve got some huge room.” Harry pointed out.
“Yeah- think so.” Draco replied.
Harry waited while Draco started to dress up for the wedding while the trail of thoughts continued to bang inside his head. Did Harry really forget what happened the other night or was he just pretending?
Halfway through when Draco was trying to tie a tie around his neck that his mother had forcibly given him to wear, despite that he knew how to wear a tie, he made it seem like he didn’t and fidgeted until Harry took notice of his restlessness.
“Do you want help with that?” Harry asked just as Draco had wanted.
“I mean- sure yeah.” Draco reluctantly replied. Harry paced through and stood before Draco and helped with the tie when all the while Draco stared at Harry. He doesn’t know why decided to lie that he didn’t know how to wear a tie, but he knew that when Harry was standing before Draco, he felt his heart hammering loudly in his chest and there was a yearn to touch Harry that he couldn’t figure out, why.
But to make it worse, Narcissa walked into the room and saw Harry and Draco standing and not so subtly walked away with a giggle.
“I’ll come back later.” Narcissa’s voice had echoed in the air while the door swung shut again.
Draco threw his head back a little with a groan, “Mother-”
But then when he looked back up, Harry was smiling.
“What are you smiling at?”
“You. Being done with your mother. It’s hilarious.” Harry replied.
“I’m sure it’s still funny when she bombards you with questions later.” Draco rolled his eyes.
“I’ll be fine. You’ll cover for me.” Harry wickedly said and walked back to sit on the bed.
“You make up your own lies today. I’m not covering for you.” It was a part of the deal, everytime someone would ask any question, Draco would jump in and cover up the situation and they would plan all his beforehand, however, not today.
They left for the wedding in about an hour and as they expected the wedding was another level on the building of hell. Everyone kept questioning or snickering about Harry and Draco being together so much that once he even heard someone say that they were betting on them to get together.
Draco just established that he couldn’t care any less of what people had to say that day and that he was there to enjoy the wedding, with Harry by his side who had quite interestingly made the wedding even more fun by pointing out who looked like they were from a children’s book or mimicking what they were saying in a voice that Draco had to physically refrain himself from not laughing.
The nice turn of events eventually led upto the most awaited moment, the dance.
Harry and Draco had decided not to get on the floor and dance but his mother with her several other friends had forced them into the dance floor that right now they were standing in front of each other rather awkwardly.
Harry was hesitant for a moment but then he finally took the lead and now they were dancing to I wanna grow old with you by Westlife.
“i- why don’t you take the lead?” Draco proposed.
It was so quick that in moments, Draco had his head rested against Harry’s shoulder, his arms around his waist.
“I haven’t danced like this in almost a forever.” Draco said.
“Me either.” This was the first time that Harry shared something like that, something that was personal.
“Really?” Draco looked up a little and saw Harry nodding.
“I had my last dance with Sebastian. Always thought he would always be my last dance. Apparently not.” Draco said.
Harry hummed, “I don’t think you and Sebastian could’ve worked out either way,”
“Why do you say so?”
“Because you don’t deserve an almost. You deserve to be with someone who wants you with his entirety. If Sebastian had to really be with you, he would’ve done it but he didn’t and you were the one who wanted to get married while he was unsure. You don’t deserve to have someone like that, you deserve to be with someone who wants you just as much as you want him. Someone who wouldn’t break your heart the way he did.”
Draco stared at Harry for a long time but he couldn’t bring himself to say anything. He wanted to but he couldn’t, he didn’t know what to.
It was further late in the night when they were lurking in the garden of the villa where the wedding was, time almost approaching midnight and they both were well aware that the deal was soon to be over but they were lingering onto each other because that was what was left.
“Did you really mean what you said back there?” Draco suddenly asked “on the dance floor?”
Harry smiled and nodded, “Every word. You deserve the best, Draco.”
Draco smiled back at Harry, “It’ll end soon.”
“End what?”
“The deal. I will bring you your things tomorrow then we’re done. You’ll no longer have to tolerate me and my things.”
Harry chuckled lightly, “Yeah, you were something to tolerate.”
“Ouch-” Draco dramatically placed his hand over his chest, stopping in the middle for a little.
Harry shook his head, “You won’t have to bear me anymore either you know. We’ll be done for good then we’d just be 2 guys who pretentiously hate each other.”
“I don’t hate you.” Draco replied seriously.
“Neither do I.” Harry said.
“Seems otherwise.” Draco shrugged.
“You think I hate you?” Harry asked, half shocked.
“Have you seen yourself when you talk to me. It’s like you’re waiting to kill me anytime soon.” Draco rolled his eyes as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
“Alright, I’ll give you that I haven’t been the nicest to you but it’s only because you ignored the shit out of me.”
“I ignored you? Please- Potter, you ignore me like I’m invisible.”
Harry chuckled and so joined along Draco. It hardly mattered right now who hated who and hated how because it didn’t really matter now. They didn’t hate each other and if they did before, they didn’t hate each other anymore and maybe it was all because of these 7 days that changed their life.
Draco looked at the watch on his wrist and said, “Well, 2 more minutes.” He stopped beside Harry, making him stop in his steps as well.
“You know Harry, no matter what, these were probably the most fun 7 days I had. Given the chance I wouldn’t want anyone else to be my valentines but you.” He smiled.
Harry stared at Draco for what seemed like an eternity in silence and Draco had just wanted to retrace his statement claiming that he might’ve have had a little too much champagne but what happened next was something he would’ve never expected it to happen in sane mind.
Within seconds and without hesitation, Harry was kissing Draco and despite that in the back of his head, Draco wanted to stop it, he couldn’t bring himself to because with him, he felt secure, he felt at home and that was a feeling that hardly ever came to him. He kissed back Harry with all the compassion he was left with and all the unresolved feelings that he knew were never going to go anywhere because they both knew after this moment, they wouldn’t even speak of this and maybe that made them yearn for more. It wasn’t lustful or devious but it was equally desiring and sweet and it was hard to break away but when they did, the deal was done as the clock stroke 12.
“Deal closed.” Harry said without moving a step away.
“Deal closed.” Draco whispered.
Draco knew after that night, him and Harry would never be the same because no matter what he did, he still felt Harry’s lingering kiss and his words echoing in the air and he wanted to focus on his work the next day but he couldn’t. And Draco wasn’t the only one, so was Harry but they both didn’t dare to say anything.
And days could’ve gone by or maybe years would have gone by but the deal wasn’t closed, just not yet.
So there was Draco, standing with Thorne cliver in a cardboard box and the broche in another hand, at Harry’s door.
“Now the deal is closed.” Draco said once Harry had opened the door and he had handed him both those things.
Harry was almost shook at his sudden visit but he gained his equilibrium quickly and took the dragon and broche from his hands.
“want to come inside?” Harry asked.
Draco was hesitant for a moment but soon he nodded and walked after him.
“So,” Harry said, awkwardly turning around to face him.
“So,”Draco replied equally awkward.
“The dragon is kinda really sensitive right now, so take care of it. And the broche is also pretty fragile.”
Harry nodded acknowledging it.
"There’s an entire list on how the feeding pattern of the dragon goes, so I’ll memo them to you, by tomorrow probably.” Draco added.
“Okay.”
“Also there is a-”
But Harry cut Draco off by pulling him closer suddenly, startling him.
“You don’t stop talking do you?”
Draco was in partial shock to have made sense of what was happening and till the moment that he could have, Harry was already pushing Draco against the wall and having a full fledged make out. It was unlike all the other kisses they’ve had because right now, there was urgency, there was lust, there was desperation, there was everything that there wasn’t before and that only made Draco weak at his knees and if it wasn’t for Harry holding onto him, he’d had collapsed. But in that one moment, Draco could made a list of all the feelings he had been deprived of feeling all his life or feelings that he had not felt for anyone and it all hit him like a wave and right now he wanted Harry more than anything else in the world.
When they separated panting for air, the only thing Draco could say was, "but."
"The deal was never close." Harry said, his head pressed against Draco's and his eyes closed to devour in the sensations from a moment ago.
"What do you mean?" Draco asked.
"Deal isn't closed because the deal wasn't to be your fake boyfriend. It was to do everything a lover does." Harry replied.
Draco remained silent but his heart throbbed loudly in his chest and an unexplainable sense of happiness overflowing his cup of emotions.
"So, you'll do everything a lover does?"
"Everything a lover does."

Everything A Lover Does
VALENTINE’S SPECIAL EDITION
“I want you to be my fake date” to “you can’t have other valentines” trope.
Love is weird. It always have been. Just when you think that you can’t possibly fall in love with someone, just when you think you are over the phase of your life where you need to be with someone, life sneaks up behind you and presents to you the most perfect person you can ever find. The bitch life is, it waits for the moment until we’re absolutely desperate and then when we lose hope, it smacks us with the perfect “the one”.
Draco was the biggest victim. Being done with too many of his terrible, terrible relationships, ending in life long feuds, he was set on never finding a boyfriend for himself anymore but it just wasn’t that easy. Being a Malfoy still built a lot of pressure on him. His family however fine with him being gay were not absolutely fine about Draco showing up alone to his 1st cousin’s wedding alone, who was apparently in muggle saying was a millionaire.
He had always faced a lot of pressure while he was dating someone and much more when he was not so when he learnt his cousin, Ajax was getting married on 15th February on a floo call with his parents, he built up the easiest lie he could.
“So, who will be your date?” Lucius asked.
Draco remained silent for a moment, even wanting to back out for a second but he knew he couldn’t do so.
“i-uh- my boyfriend, obviously,” He lied but he was aware of how sweaty his palms were becoming because he wasn’t really a good liar.
“Your boyfriend? Who is this young man you’re dating and you haven’t told us about?” Narcissa asked, closing the magazine in her hand to pay attention to Draco.
Draco gulped thinking of every possible way he could recover from this lie but they were looking at him expectantly and he knew he had to just lie. He planned in a second that he would lie to them about someone being his boyfriend but show up to the wedding alone, lying that his fake boyfriend was sick.
“who is it, Draco?” Lucius asked.
Draco’s eyes followed to the cover page of the magazine Narcissa was holding and he said, “Harry- You know, Harry.”
“Harry, who?”
“Harry Potter of course- yeah, we started going out a couple weeks ago but we haven’t been that serious so I waited to tell you guys but I can bring him to the wedding if you guys want me to?”
Lucius and Narcissa gasped in surprise, “We’d love to meet him.”
Little did Draco Lucius Malfoy knew, this was where everything went wrong.
___________________________________
“You are coming to stay over?” Draco almost yelled on the phone call.
“Yeah, it’s nearer to where the wedding is and Sallie have especially invited us to see all the arrangements much beforehand.” Narcissa replied.
“But do you have to come over this weekend, can’t you come later, maybe a day before wedding?” Draco huffed.
“What did I say, she wants us to see the arrangements and want our help besides it’s been so long since we’ve been to London, it’ll be nice to be there again.” Narcissa replied on the other end.
“But still, don’t you think coming 2 weeks before the wedding would be a little too much?”
“Don’t worry Draco, we won’t ruin you and your boyfriend’s time together. It’ll be like we’re not even there.” he could hear her smugly smiling but Draco had completely lost mind of who was she talking about until it hit him suddenly. Harry.
“You- Harry-”
“Well, we want to meet him but it’s your choice,” She hummed.
“You want to meet him? You want to meet Harry-my boyfriend Harry Potter?” Draco asked suddenly losing his breath.
“Why are you acting so strange? Yes, we want to meet Harry Potter, your boyfriend but it’s no pressure.” She said but Draco had abruptly ended the call after saying a vague goodbye.
How the hell was he supposed to have Harry Potter become his fake boyfriend when he absolutely hated Draco to the very core of himself, he didn’t even like to see him, let alone fake date him. It was like walking towards your deathbed.
But regretting as he was, he still needed to bring a fake date and apparently his parents were very excited to meet his boyfriend who had absolutely no idea about this. He mastered a plan to bring himself to notice near Harry by clumsily dropping a cup of coffee when they were in the cafeteria in the office or by waving at Harry which obviously went unacknowledged or by passing by his office when he had absolutely no reason to. In doing so he had mastered the time table Harry was set in and he knew exactly when he would be alone.
It was on 29th January when his parents called him early morning to ask him if they should bring something for Harry or not when Draco knew there was no way he could’ve escaped the lie he had built in the floo call.
And so there he was, walking towards the bookstore in front of the office where Harry smokes almost on a daily basis against the light pole.
And much to his surprise, his visit didn’t go unnoticed.
“Why are you creeping up behind me like you’re about to murder me for like 2 weeks?” Harry asked blowing out a puff.
Draco coughed, waving his hand in the air to get rid of the smokey smell, “So you noticed me?”
“Well your ridiculous blonde don’t go unnoticed.” Harry shrugged.
Draco narrowed his eyes, almost wanting to snap away and walk away because of how offensive it seemed to him but just for the sake of his one lie, he had to manage Harry bloody Potter.
“haha- funny. I’m still focusing on that you noticed me.”
Harry nodded, taking a drag of his cigarette, “like I said, was hard not to. What do you want?”
“Well, since you’ve already figured that this is a business sort of a deal, i have something to propose.” Draco said.
Harry raised an eyebrow at Draco, “What sort of deal?”
“You see, I have this cousin of mine who’s getting married on the 15th of February. It’s happening in town so my parents are coming over to stay to help out with all the preparations.”
“that should interest me why?” Harry rolled his eyes.
“If you know anything about me, you must know, all my relationships have ended in nothing but crap, so I’m single.”
“Again, why are you telling me this?” Harry asked uninterested.
“Because I want a fake date for that wedding and- just basically a fake boyfriend till they go away.” Draco exhaled.
“So what do you want? Do you want me to set you up with someone- find one yourself.” Harry stubbed his cigarette against the pole and started to walk away annoyed.
Draco followed him, “I need you to be my date,”
Harry immediately turned around, his face furrowed, “what did you just say?”
“Okay-Ha- Potter, don’t be mad. I was just on a floo call with my parents and they kept asking me who was I bringing to the wedding and something along the lines of it, so I lied that I was dating you- you were the first name that came in my head- well the first name I saw on the magazine, therefore I said your name- it doesn’t matter, I thought I’d just lie that I was dating you but would pull up solo on the wedding day lying that you are sick or whatever but my parents decided to come and they apparently want to meet you. Potter, just please- just once, help me out.” Draco rambled.
Harry raised an eyebrow at Draco yet again but then he gave an uninterested look and shook his head, “I’m not pretending to be anyone’s fake boyfriend- let alone you.” and he turned to walk away.
“Potter, please- I’ll pay you.”
Harry turned around once again, clearly mad and this time stepped closer to Draco and muttered, “Bribe with all the money you have Malfoy. I will still not agree to be your fake boyfriend.”
And then he was storming away.
Draco expected this and he knew at the end he would need a plan B and so he shot his shot.
“I can help you get a Thorne Cliver. I know someone in Romania who works with Dragons. I know you’ve been wanting to get one of those for Hagrid but breeding them is illegal. I can help you get one.”
As expected it got Harry’s attention and he turned around.
“I can also help you to get the Queen Patricia’s broche you’ve been wanting from the antiquity hall for Hermione. But you have to help me,” Draco proposed.
Harry looked at Draco rather amused then said with a small smile curling at the corner of his lips, “You’ve been doing some research.”
“Well, I had to. I knew you would not have agreed otherwise.” Draco shrugged.
Harry thought for a moment then asked, “what makes you think I’ll sign up for it?”
“Because I got your attention and now all you want is to get that Dragon and broche and you’ll help me because you want it.” Draco said with all the confidence he could muster up in himself, walking closer to Harry.
“I know your friend means everything to you. It’ll be heartbreaking if you broke the promise you made to both of them.” Draco suggestively said.
Harry raised an eyebrow at Draco then started airily laughing, “You really have done your research well.”
“Will you help me?”
“15 Feb. I need both of it in my hands. Deal?”
Draco bought his hand forward for a firm shake but Harry didn’t acknowledge yet again. So Draco just nodded, “Deal.”
“What do I need to do?” Harry asked.
“Everything a lover does.”

Hey. I don't know if your still doing angst prompts or not, but i was hoping you could write a oneshot with no happy ending. Cheating or breakups work best. I not in a great mood and i know it would really help. If you can't do it it's fine. I just wanted to say i love your work and hope your happy.

TW- ANGST// CHEATING AND BREAKUP.
Damn, why do you wanna do this to yourself?! But I hope you feel better very soon and i’m glad you like my work. I combined both cheating and breakup, so hello pain. The best dialogue prompt that fit it was 3- “Do you still love me?” “I don’t know anymore.”
It started so simply, so unrealistically that Harry swore he could had never seen it coming but then a lot of things in his life were in fact were by chance and so was Draco but then things that develop by chance don’t last all that long, do they?
The first time Harry had a doubt over Draco was by the smell of cologne of another man on Draco’s shirt. It had been a while by then when Harry had been feeling that Draco was growing a little distant but he assumed that it was due to the work place or just the usual stress until that morning he discovered that sweet cologne. Living together for an year had made Harry very familiar to the smell of every cologne Draco ever owned and on that fine Sunday when he was doing the laundry, the smell of that cologne caused a leap in Harry's chest that hurt him more than anything else in the world. He didn't want to jump to conclusions but looking at Draco after that, sitting on the couch drinking his coffee, Harry felt that pang of hurt and he didn't know how to make it stop. He simply wanted to erase the memory of the smell of other’s cologne but every night he woke up after that, the smell visited him like a haunted dream.
___________________________________
The second time Harry had a hint was when Draco came late from work and was partially drunk. Harry never have had any problems with Draco returning home after drinking but that night when he came home drunk, Harry's mind circled into loops of anxiety and emptiness. He feared things that he had been depriving himself from feeling all this while.
"Why are you drunk?"
"Can't I be drunk? Do I need to have your permission? Besides, I'm not even drunk-drunk. Had a couple of drinks with some friends from work."
"I'm not saying you need to have my permission. You never need my permission for anything but if you were drunk, you could have just called me, i'd had come to pick you up."
Draco sighed, turning to face Harry, "I had a lift. Just stop nagging me about it.”
Harry pretended that his tone didn’t hurt him, but it did. “A lift?”
“Yeah, a friend of mine from work. Are you done?” Draco dismissively said and before Harry could have inquired further, Draco had already made his way to the bedroom and was getting changed.
Harry however watched Draco do his activities while slowly sinking into a pit of thinking if that friend who gave him the lift, the same friend with the same cologne.
Draco’s shirt smelled of the same cologne.

The third time Harry thought Draco was cheating on him was when Draco cancelled date plan with Harry for the fifth time in a row due to apparent busy schedule in work department but when Harry had discreetly asked around with the people of his office, he had learnt that the office have been closing at 6 in the evening those days because of the infrastructural work going on which meant that Draco was doing something after work that didn't involve being with Harry.
Walking home alone that day, Harry felt himself thinking about the times when they first got together and how Draco used to run home as soon as possible just so he could spend more time with him or when he used to buy him flowers at the most random times without a reason or when they used to go on long drives in the middle of the night just because Draco craved ice-cream or when they used to plan dates from 3 weeks just so everything was perfect but now all Harry thought of was the pain that was settling into him and was staying for a little longer than he had wanted to.
He was noticing Draco’s ways of distancing even though he never really delved upon it but he saw the way Draco was becoming. The way Draco started making excuses to leave early for work and used to come home late, the way Draco had stopped talking about things from work at all, the way the excitement in his tone had faded, the way his smile faded every time he saw Harry, the way Draco had stopped asking Harry about how his day was.
Harry still didn’t want to believe his cruel thoughts of the slightest possibility of Draco ever cheating on him, he wanted to have faith in his relationship, he wanted to believe that there was something that Draco wasn’t telling just because he wanted to surprise Harry. He wished that the day when the truth unveils, he comes across something that would soothe away his doubts, his confusion. He didn’t want the only man he ever loved to go in vain. He wanted to believe that their love story could outlive many others. He wanted to believe in the man he loved. He wished the pain would just end because he didn’t know how many more secrets, sleepless nights and silents tears he could take.

The fourth time Harry had a doubt was during a dinner when Draco had surprisingly been home from work sooner but his mood had been somewhat pissed off and Harry had dared to ask about it.
“Draco, are you okay?”
“Yeah, why wouldn’t I be?” Draco had asked simply focused on eating.
Harry took a deep breath and had said, "it just seems to me that you're not. Like I feel like you're mad at something."
"I'm not mad."
"Are you sure? I mean if there's something that I did wrong or if there's something that happened otherwise in your life, we can talk about it, work through it, you know." Harry suggested.
"Things are fine. Why do you keep saying it?" Draco instantly became snappy and it startled Harry because it was unlike Draco to be such way but despite that, Harry chose to ignore it.
"Because you've been a little distant."
"I'm sorry if I'm not at my best behavior tonight or If I'm enjoying my dinner in silence." The eye roll that tagged along with made Harry's heart sink further in the pit of hollowness. It’s not the eye roll he minded, it was the tone, it was the harsh, brutal way Draco said that made him feel bad for asking anything.
"Draco, I just feel like you've been distant, that's all and I can't help but think that there's something you're not telling me. If there is something, you should tell me because this is effecting me too, okay. We haven't talked properly in such a long time and I feel like we don't talk at all. I'm just concerned about you."
Draco sighed and pulled his chair back, "there's nothing wrong Harry. I know I've been a little distant but it has nothing to do with you."
Harry nodded in hesitation, "I just feel away from you. It's like you're not mine anymore."
Draco instantly looked taken a back and Harry knew that Draco had tried to conceal it but his expressions had not been one of the best and he had let one of his mask fall which was almost enough to send Harry into a zenith of doubts again.
"If there was something wrong, I'd tell you, Harry. I love you, okay."
Harry wanted to point out that Draco had said those 3 simple words for the first time in 4 weeks but Harry knew that this time the words didn't mean as much to Draco as it did to Harry and he knew it by the way his smile didn't cross his face anymore or the way his eyes didn't glimmer with love anymore. Those words didn't mean to Draco what they did before.
"You promise to tell me if something was wrong?"
Draco nodded, "I promise. Tell you what, lets go out this weekend. Me and you, we'll go to the beach, spend a good time together and then come back, yeah?"
"Yeah, okay." Harry had smiled.
They didn't anywhere that weekend, Draco forgot about the said date and went out with "a friend" instead and Harry couldn't bring himself to remind Draco of the beach date again after having reminded him 3 times already before that.

"He can't do that, can he. Like i’m just thinking things over?" Harry had asked Ron sometime later on a brunch break between work.
Ron looked at Harry in silence for a moment and then finally said, "No. He loves you, Harry. I think Draco is capable of anything but cheating."
"Are you sure?"
But the silence that had followed before and after didn't help that growing feeling in his chest that Draco could be possibly cheating on Harry. The silence answered so many things that Harry had a doubt of because perhaps words spoken out of lips hurts more than those in the eyes which is why Ron didn't say them out loud because maybe if Ron had said that Draco could cheat on Harry, it would become real and Harry never wanted those words to become real. Harry was already running on the last of the strings to keep that relationship from falling apart.
________________________________
The fifth and the final time, Harry became sure that Draco was cheating on him because he saw the love of his life kissing the man in the same park bench that once Harry and Draco had kissed upon. He knew the way that his heart stopped right at that instant and the way that his world crashed right in front of his eyes. It disgusted Harry to even think of it, it hurt him, it made him so uncomfortable that he wanted to rip off his skin just because he wanted to get rid of the touch of Draco's, he wanted to at that point forget what Draco ever felt like on him, he wanted to erase the feeling of Draco’s lingering touch, he wanted to forget the feeling of Draco’s lips against his own but nothing came to him but tears.
He cried for hours after that, screams made his throat sore and his eyes were burning till the end of the day when Draco had finally came home and Harry could not so much so even look at Draco. He couldn’t bear the thought of looking in the eyes of the man he loved and not remember the sight of those same lips against someone else’s.The thought made him shudder.
"Harry, why are you crying?" Draco in his concern, kept his bag aside on the table and came and sat before Harry trying to console him.
"I know." were the only words Harry had said.
"Know what?"
"Why did you do this to me?" Harry asked with tears blurring his visions again.
“Did what, Harry? I haven’t done anything.” Draco defended himself.
Harry shook his head, “Don’t say that. You know exactly what you have done.”
“Harry, what are you on about? I haven’t done anything.”
“He makes you feel better, doesn’t he? He makes you feel all that I can’t make you feel good. The man you have an affair with?” The words sounded more heavier on his lips when he said them all out. The words had felt like ice on his tongue and his heart shattered so loudly that Harry felt everyone in the world could hear the sound of it.
"What affair?"
But Harry only looked at him in pleading to stop lying at that point. He wanted Draco to tell him the truth on his own. He wanted Draco to rip off the bandage that he had been fastening the entire month.
"Your affair. With that man."
"My affair?"
"Stop lying, Draco,” Harry snapped, “I saw you two kissing in the park."
“I saw you with someone else.” his voice broke.
And they both remained speechless for several moments. The sound of the cars outside echoed more loudly in the living room of the walls they painted together, in a home that they built together. Harry had never known a silence that hurt more than it did now, a silence more louder than this.
“I’m sorry.” Draco had finally said.
Harry smiled as he bought his hands to wipe off the slipping tears and said, “Does he make you feel good?”
Draco raised his head to look at Harry, pleading with his eyes to not do this to himself.
“It doesn’t matter. Nobody can ever make me feel the way you do.”
“Really?”
“You are special, Harry.”
But even that word didn’t feel special anymore.
“If I were so special, how come you cheated on me?”
But Draco remained silent for a long time because what could he said but when he did, he only said, “If I knew what I was doing, I wouldn’t had done it.”
Harry softly smiled, “But you did know it. It was your choice, Draco.”
“I wish I could change it.”
“I wish it too.”
“So, Who’s better, me or him?”
“Its you, Harry. Always.”
“And yet you broke my heart first.”
That night, Draco didn’t beg for Harry to stay, Draco didn’t ask for his forgiveness, he didn’t ask for anything from Harry because he deserved Harry leaving him. It’s not that Draco didn’t love him anymore, nor was it that Harry immediately stopped loving him that night but sometimes love stories are not easy. Love is hard and who says otherwise haven’t met the real love.
Draco loved Harry very deeply but he also loved him enough to not make him live the pain of seeing Draco everyday with the face and touch that had been shared by another. Draco didn’t want Harry to feel that pain. He understood it because he cared for Harry and he knew Harry would forgive him if he asked for it because that was Harry but Harry deserved a loving where the walls painted in the living room fade from Red to Maroon and the 2 frames turns into a frame wall. He knew he deserved a home with more than just 2 frames. He deserved to have a love story that would be remembered even in the stars and it was unfortunate Draco couldn’t give that to him.
Thank you so much @drarrywords for beta reading, I adore ya..

You loved me first but I loved you last
Angst dialogue prompt no.2 - “I should’ve been there for you.” “But, you weren’t”
Post break-up || hurt/comfort || mild angst

It’s like a switch.
Feelings, they’re like a switch. Some days we wake up and turn on that switch and some days, we just turn it off. The hurtful part about it is that when we turn those feelings off, we forget all those we’ve loved before.
You were one of those people who turned their feelings off and I had to watch you slip away from my fingers, right there in front of me.
I think you forgot how much I loved you and I think you forgot how much I wanted you, think you forgot all those days we spent together, those days when we took long walks, those days when we stayed up talking late in the night just to spend a few more minutes together, those days when we rambled so much on calls because we just wanted each other more than anything, those days when we fooled around because we’d rather had said we hated each other than confessed how truly, madly, deeply we were in love. I think you forgot all those things, I didn’t.
But you know what’s all that was beautiful about you, a lot of things that I always lose count off. I don’t think I wanted to love you in the first place but loving you was like loving the stars, loving the moon, loving the sunrise, loving the sunset, and all those other beautiful things in the world, I couldn’t help but love them, I couldn’t help but love you. Loving you was the easiest thing I ever had to do. All I ever had to do was just hear you talk, or receive a text from you, or just get a call from you or just look at you from across the room, hear a song and my mind would go to you and my heart would become all yours.
I know I should not watch your saved videos anymore that I have, nor those pictures I have of you that I took when you weren’t looking or I shouldn’t be reading all those messages you sent me when you still loved me, or that letter you sent me for reasons why you loved me, or see all those pictures you and I were together in, or I shouldn’t talk about you with my best friend, or I shouldn’t play your favorite song on guitar or it being the only one that I know how to play, or I shouldn’t think of all those scenarios I had of us, actually I should not even be thinking of you at all. I shouldn’t think of the way you smile anymore, or the way your eyes were the perfect shade of grey, or I shouldn’t think of you still the first thing in the morning or the last thing in the night but I have loved you and I can’t help but still think of you every time I get a chance to.
And I wonder if you ever do the same.
I wonder if you sit by the window like me and think of me, think of all that we had, think of all those things you said that made my heart flutter or think of a time when you still had feelings for me. I wonder if you ever write about me like you used to or if you ever miss me like you used to say that you did in the middle of the day, or if you ever listen to a song and it reminds you of me. I wonder if you love me still.
You said you did, but I think you fell out of love with me way before I even realized it.
But I don’t care if you have fallen out of love with me or if you don’t love me like you used to anymore, or if you still think of me. I care if you’ve found someone new or hinged with your last lover and gotten back together and they give you all that I couldn’t, because if one day you woke up and realized you didn’t love me anymore, I’m sure there must’ve been something wrong with me that made you walk away from me, that made you turn off your feelings, that made un-love me. I care to know if all that you said to me, I care to know if any of it was true, If I’m still all that you said I am to you, I care to know if I really was your sunrise, if I really was your best pick, your best choice, if I really was the light that you loved so much, if I really ever was the one person you wanted to spend all your time with, if I really was the best part of your day, if I really was better than everyone else to you, if I really was someone you loved. I care to know of you ever meant all that you ever said.
But it doesn’t matter, does it? You have already walked away from me, you have already stopped loving me, you have already forgotten me like a wind that blew away and the worst is, I didn’t ask you to stay. I never asked why or when you fell out of love with me. When you asked for your space, when you asked for time, when you asked to walk away, I let you go because I once heard once, love isn’t supposed to make you feel tied up and maybe you found yourself tied in intangible strings with me. I loved you enough to let you go, so I let you slip from my fingers.
But then it took a lot in me when I passed by that bakery and I saw you standing there that I couldn’t resisting waving at you and sparking a conversation with you after a month because I still missed your voice, I still missed the way your eyes glimmered, I still missed the way that your lips curled and I realised I still loved you, I loved you all along and that a month apart from you didn't do me any good because I still loved you like I did in January, the way I loved you in August, I still loved you all the same and you didn't.
"So, anything new in your life?" You asked as you passed me a biscuit and I took it.
I shook my head, "Not really, it's the same old things."
You nodded your head and took another sip of your drink and I thought, it's still you.
Being in love and being without love hasn't changed you at all, not even a little bit and maybe that's why I'm loving you still, even as you are drinking your coffee in front of me because I can't help but be in the awe of you.
"Can I ask you something?"
You nodded.
"When did it happen?"
"Happened what?"
"When did you stop loving me?"
There was this echoing silence that even the drop of a pin could be heard. The silence was a little too much for both of us but you stayed silent whatsoever because either you didn't realise the moment you stopped loving me or you didn't want to tell me.
"It keeps me up several nights, if you ever meant all that you ever said to me, all those names you ever gave me, I can't ever help but wonder if it really came from a place within you. Did you ever mean all those things?"
"Of course, I did, Harry. I meant all that I ever said to you."
I smiled at you for a moment, then a laugh came along and you looked at me like you had seen the strangest thing ever but I couldn't help laughing. I just couldn't.
"I promised myself I wouldn't ask you this yet here I am because maybe if I don't get the answer, I'll never be satisfied,"
"I just don't understand that someone who fell for me first was also the one who fell out of love. You loved me first Draco and yet somehow I can't for the life of me understand that how did you ever stop loving me? How come you suddenly didn't want me anymore?"
You sighed with a pained look on your face and you looked at me with your beautiful big eyes and asked me to not make you answer it.
But you didn't answer either way.
"I needed you, you know." I said after a while of silence, a crack in a voice.
"I should've been there for you."
"Yeah, but you weren't."
Then followed the silence again for a very very long time until both our coffees were finished and we had no biscuit left on the plate and the bills were already split.
"Harry?"
"Yeah?"
"I hope you know loving you was the best choice I made. I really loved you."
I smiled lightly, "And I love you, still."

On the sand
Fluff || Domestic ||

There are moments in life when you look at a person and your heart grows the size of a mountain. You look at that person and no matter who it is, whatever they may do, your heart grows fonder and you feel for them all those things you never knew you could feel. That was Draco for Harry. They had been friends for now as long they can remember and to top it off they don't even remember when and how they became friends, it just happened and things had never been the same for Harry or Draco but they don't complain because to them it doesn't matter, what matters is the moment they live in right now, without a worry of anything in the world.
And just like any other day in their life, Harry had asked Draco to meet by the beach because of the lovely spring that came along and the best of the weather blooming for beach. They had their friends over too of course but when it's just them together, others never mattered.
"So, I got the concert ticket." Draco confessed.
"Wait- you- don't tell me?" Harry gasped.
Draco nodded enthusiastically, "Two tickets to NSYNC, Friday night next week."
"How did you get it?" Harry asked equally enthused and partially not being able to believe it.
"Let's keep that confidential. Pulled some strings here and there." Draco bragged.
"You stayed up all night waiting for 2 tickets to get cancelled and took it right when it got cancelled?" Harry narrowed his eyes at Draco who at this point refused to meet Harry's eyes and continued eating his hot dog.
"Draco?"
"What?" Draco whined, "we both wanted to go and I did what I had to do."
"But all night? Don't you sleep like normal humans, you vampire."
"One, I'm not a vampire because have you even seen them, they are so weak that they'd probably die in sunlight, while me, I am surviving absolutely fine. See, I've even got tan lines from my watch. And second, I do sleep, but sometimes comprises have to be made."
“You’re ridiculous, Draco. All night, that’s a lot.” Harry shook his head.
“If it takes all night to stay awake to take you to a concert that would make you happy, then I’ll stay up every night.” Draco smiled.
Harry only however wondered if Draco ever knew what his words did to Harry and his heart. It was impossible for Harry to not have his heart racing every single time Draco said something like that, hell, he left his heart racing most of the times.
Harry smiled as he looked away because right now he didn’t trust what may leave his lips.
“Do you think we should have asked the others?” Harry asked after a while.
“I mean we could have but then we would not have been able to spend time alone, you know.”
“And whatever do you think we are doing right now?”
“oh, you know what I mean.”
Harry chuckled, shaking his head, “Oh I know exactly what you mean.” he teased.
Draco nudged Harry off, “I hate you.”
“But you love me.” Harry laughed and all Draco could do was adoringly roll his eyes at him.
“For whatever its worth they all are not a fan of NSYNC anyways.” Draco said after a while.
“Whatever floats your boat.”
“I really do hate you.” Draco narrowed his eyes at Harry then decided to get up.
“Where are you going?” Harry asked as he got up.
“Away from you.”
“That pissed, are you? How would you like me to make it upto you, sunshine?” Harry teased further which only made Draco all the more interested to go away from Harry.
“You’re insufferable.” Draco said as he decided to walk away.
“Fine, i’ll stop.” Harry laughed but Draco had already walked far away to not have heard him which left him with a little choice than to follow him towards the ocean, and so he did follow.
Harry walked towards the ocean, towards Draco, watching him watch the ocean from behind and somehow Harry thought Draco fit so well with the view, like he was a part of the ocean himself, so serene, so calm, so beautiful but shame it was that he never had courage to say all these things to Draco. He wanted to but the moment he would want to say something, his words would die in his throat because he was always afraid of whatever might happen after that.
“Hi, sunshine.” Harry said as he reached Draco.
“Not quite done, are you?” Draco rolled his eyes at Harry once again.
“But aren’t you a sunshine?” Harry teased further.
Draco sighed and almost walked away when Harry stopped him by grasping his wrist.
“I promise I am truly done.” Harry smiled.
Draco raised an expectant eyebrow and Harry nodded, giving him the reassurance that he was truly done.
“Sunshine is an awful nickname by the way.” Draco said after a while.
“As if sweetheart was a nice nickname to give. That’s the purpose of giving names Draco, they’re supposed to be fun.”
Draco could not say anything otherwise, he has always quite enjoyed giving names to people and receiving one as well because it showed how much a person cared. It kept a memory of that person in a unique way. Not that he would ever forget Harry but he enjoyed the fact that whenever he’d think of the word sunshine, Harry was the one he thought of and he liked having that thought.
After long moments of staring far ahead towards the ocean with waves wetting their feet, Draco finally spoke up.
“I don’t want anyone else to go.”
Harry remained confused by Draco’s revelation, so he remained silent.
“The concert. I don’t want to go with anyone but you.” Draco turned to face Harry.
It was impossible for Harry to not see his soft features, his eyes shining with the red of sunset and the orange of the sky. In that sunset, in that moment, he just knew he loved Draco and there was no denying it.
“Why?” Harry asked.
“Is it really not obvious?” Draco asked with a soft smile.
Harry couldn’t help but smile as he turned to face the ocean. That was perhaps all Harry ever wanted to hear, all he ever wanted to know and now that he knows, he can’t stop thinking otherwise. Now he knew that if there was one moment he wasn't afraid to say anything, say anything that his heart desires, it was this moment.
“Its never obvious with you.”
“Ah, would you like me to lay the words out for you then?” Draco smiled.
“Yes, on the sand if you must.” Harry teased.
Draco shook his head and without even a doubt he knelt down and wrote ‘Go on a date with me?’ before Harry could had even stopped him.
“Unremarkably fast.” Harry said as he knelt down beside him.
“Well I did practice 6 times last night.” Draco boasted.
Harry shook his head with a fond smile and wrote on the sand himself, ‘Go on a date with me too.’
Draco smiled, “Technically I asked first, so I should get an answer first.”
“If we’re playing by technicalities, Yes I would go on a date with you. Now you answer.”
“I would like to go on a date with you too.”
Harry smiled at Draco who reciprocated it the same way.
Yes, Draco made Harry’s heart grow more fonder each day, in a way that he didn’t even know could happen but it did and with every morning that turned over after that day, Harry only knew one thing, that if there was one person he could ask a several times on a date on sand at a beach, it would always be Draco, even if the beach would be crowded with people or if they had their friends around or the dogs ran haywire at the beach, it didn't matter because when it was them, nothing else ever mattered.

Mid summer in moonlit hours
This is my gift to @drarrywords. I just wanna say, thank you for sticking by, always and for being one of the best beta reader I could ever ask for. You’re a wonderful being, and I’m so glad we met even if sometimes I’m terrible at showing it. This is for you and I hope you like it. Happy birthday bestie, I love you.

The first time it had came up in the conversation was when they were on a picnic in the park of Harry's neighborhood. They were only 3 months into dating then but Harry knew that it was everything he ever needed, it was those times when everything was just as perfect as it could ever. He had just returned with pretzels when he saw Draco playing with a dog. It wasn’t entirely a strange sight but it was definitely something new, it was sort of unlike Draco to him or maybe something along the lines that he didn't really expect Draco to be a dog person but he would've been a fool if he did not admit that seeing Draco with that dog was adorable.
As anyone would've done, Harry asked him if he ever have had a pet before and to his surprise Draco had said yes.
“It was the cutest little thing. I still think about him a lot.” Draco had said with a smile, still playing with that dog.
“Tell me more.” Harry had asked curiously with a smile.
“Well, He never really stayed long enough for me to name him, say I was still trying to figure out what to call him because I just wanted it to be symbolic but unfortunately he didn’t stay with us long enough, he had to be sent away. But, you know, he was still one of the best things that ever happened to me. Its strange how it takes you months to get attached to a person and just few moments with puppies. Holding him in my arms for the first time, it just- felt like it was everything I ever wanted to hold and I never wanted to let go of him and oh- he was just so sweet. You know, he would just come up to me and lay in my lap whenever he’d want to get sleep and I’d sing to him and like the cutest little creature, he’d doze off, right in my arms. You know how they say that you get things in life right when you most need them, It was that time, having him was the best thing that happened to me during those times but saying goodbye, fuck you have no idea how hard it was, still makes me so sad to think of him and I just wish I wouldn’t but I tear up every time. He was like all the beautiful, bright things in this world, like the sunlight that melts the snow, like the warmth that wraps your heart in a cocoon and it just felt so safe, being with him even though he was literally defenseless,” Draco had chuckled, taking a small pause for a while, zoning out for mere seconds perhaps in the memory of him but then he came back and what he said next, just touched Harry more than he ever realised, “On the day that we had to send him back, he came to me, he curled in my lap and I had put everything aside, and I sang to him and for once, just that day he didn’t sleep, he just kept looking at me and with that look in his eyes, a part of me was just ripping apart but I didn’t want to stop singing. He just so sweetly pressed his nose into my hands when I was singing- I just- jeez, i’m sorry this got intense, I didn’t really mean to. I just really loved him.”
But to Harry it didn’t matter if it got intense or not, to him he could listen to Draco talk about that puppy forever and he couldn’t figure out why, but all he wanted was to bring back that puppy to him and make him happy again and he wanted to even hear Draco sing to the puppy. He could just picture him with that puppy and Harry loved that imagination.
“It must’ve been so hard to let go.” Harry had finally said as he reached for his hand and rubbed little circles over it.
Draco shook his head with a little smile,”Very hard.”
Harry couldn’t help himself but kiss Draco’s hand as he held, he just wanted Draco to be alright, to be happy, again.
“He’ll always be a part of you no matter what and you know what I think, I think you shouldn’t get sad thinking about him because he made you happy, right. And even if it does make you a little sad, he can still be all those things to you, the sunlight, the warmth, everything you ever said, you don’t have to let go of him because you only ever say goodbye to things you are going to forget but you are never going to forget him, so he’s just here, with you, always, in your heart besides I also think he wouldn’t really like to see you all sad over him, he’d want you to be happy.” Harry had tried to cheer up, but even he knew he was failing miserably at it.
Draco however had chuckled, “That might be the most dorkiest thing I’ve ever heard you say.”
“Well- I am a dork.” Harry shrugged.
Draco fondly smiled at him and then finally said, “I don’t know, I think It’ll always feel a little sad just thinking about him but he makes me more nostalgic than anything else.”
Harry had nodded, this time because he understood what Draco felt, even if he never really understood the intensity of it but he understood what letting go must’ve felt like, so, he finally said, kissing the inside of Draco’s palm, “I know.”
But they never really talked about it after that, ever, and maybe it was better that way but ever since that day, thinking about that day was what Harry did more than often because that conversation had left him feeling nostalgic over what he never even had but mostly he wanted Draco to be with that dog again. He wanted something impossible but currently it was ages ago when they had that conversation. They were far ahead of only 3 months of dating, they had reached an entire year and it was Draco’s first birthday after they had moved in together and Harry had gotten him the best gift he could possibly think of.
Harry had waited till the very end of the evening when everyone had left because he wanted it to be something just between him and Draco. So, then it happened, Harry bought his gift and presented it to Draco.
“Now, before you open this, I just want to tell you, I love you okay and I just hope you like it.”
And then Draco opened the soft unsealed box with a wooden basket and there laid that puppy Harry had bought him.
“I know this isn’t anywhere close to the puppy you had but ever since that day, I just knew this is what I wanted to get you. I know it’s not the same but I hope you can love him as much as you loved your puppy.”
“Harry-” Draco choked and he kept that basket aside for a single minute to hug Harry so tight that he was panting for breath once they broke apart, “I never thought you’d get me a puppy.”
Harry shrugged but then he helped Draco to sit down on the couch and he knelt before him, taking his hands in his own and said, “Look, you know all those things you said about your puppy that day, how it made you feel warm, like sunlight and heart being wrapped in a cocoon and feeling safe, you make me feel those things too, in a totally different context and you can see i’m totally terrible at giving these speeches but- Draco- I just want you to know that I love you so much that I want you to feel those things again, with this one, with me by your side and I want you to sing that song to our puppy and I want to hear you sing, I want to watch you sing. I- I guess what I’m trying to say is somewhere along the lines that I want to look after this puppy with you, together and I want to see you happy with our it, too. Do you get what I mean? because I have no idea what I’m trying to-”
“Shush- I love you too and I love this, okay?” Draco reassured Harry after cutting him off. Draco smiled at Harry and kissed his forehead because it was just hard not to at that moment.
“I never thought you’d do this for me, but this gesture alone means a lot to me, like I can’t even explain. I love it so much, I wish I could truly explain but I’m so overwhelmed, I’m at loss of words, like really- Harry. I just wish I could explain-”
“You don’t have to and you know what, we don’t even have to talk about it. Okay. Lets just- Do you want to just name him with me?” Harry asked as if it wasn’t a big deal but it was, it was a huge deal but the way Harry just asked made Draco chuckle.
“Yes, I want to name him with you, Yes, yes, I do.” He said as though it was a proclamation to something and maybe it was, maybe it wasn’t but it didn’t matter because in that moment it made both of them so much more happier.
“What should we name him then?” Draco asked.
“Anything you want to call him.” Harry said with a smile.
“Anything?”
“Anything.”
“Do you think he’s Louis?” Draco asked too innocently taking that puppy in his lap.
Harry smiled with a nod, “He can be a Louis.”
And then they called pet the puppy, they both called him Louis and like the sweetest little gesture the puppy nudged his nose into Draco’s palm.
And It just fit, He was the most Louis he could ever be and it wasn’t just that, they all just fit in that small beautiful of a home, together, they all just fit.

It's You
Microfic sentence : let the music guide us
Fluff (yes, fluff after a really long time)

"Exactly, so I told her that fairy tales aren't real. She was shocked but she caught on you know."
Draco chuckled lightly, "there goes her fantasies. Do you have any idea that you just ruined a child's childhood?"
"Oh, of course, but it was fun. You should've seen the reaction on her face- i must admit though that I feel guilty but come on, she's 9 years old and someone had to be that guy in her life who ruins stories for her. Though, I'm worried she's gonna be that person for teddy but we'll see about that- oh, and by the way, I have no idea what I'm doing, for all I know, I'm just sliding my feet." Harry explained trying his best to not entangle his legs with those of Draco's.
Draco in turn gave him a soft smile, the effortlessly beautiful smile Harry has fallen in love with infinite times, and charmed the stereo to play a slower song, "why are you so worried that you're dancing wrong?"
"Oh- let me guess, right, cause I'm dancing with the love of my life and I'm supposed to not embarrass him on the day of our wedding." Harry replied in a matter of fact voice.
Draco shook his head and bought them closer so they were inches away from each other and looked into his eyes. He rested his hand perfectly over Harry's waist and said, "So, big deal? You embarrass me for 5 minutes, everyone would forget it and funny of you to assume I don't have a backup option-"
"Hey- that's just mean." But Draco only laughed out loud and Harry himself couldn't hold back and laughed along with him.
"I hope you don't have a back up husband stored somewhere in the closet." Harry teased fixing the collar of Draco's shirt.
"Yeah- no, definitely not, but I would really suggest not opening the attic closet." Draco joked along.
"Funny- haha- sorry but I hear my heart shattering in that closet."
But Draco didn't say anything else, instead he pressed his forehead against Harry and that was all he needed, the reassurance in silence that Draco gave him. It was his way of saying "it's only you" without actually saying it, the few words that Harry needed to hear somedays but didn't want to seem needy of it.
They swayed for a while with their foreheads pressed together and fingers intertwined in between their torso's.
"You can never embarrass me, Harry."
"Really?"
"Never?"
"Never."
And Harry smiled and leaned in to kiss Draco.
"I'm the luckiest man alive." Harry finally said.
Draco's eyes glimmered for a second because he couldn't wrap his head around the surrealism of their whole story. They were getting married and he swore that his young self never saw it happening but it is and that's the most unbelievable thing that's ever happened to him and yet he wouldn't trade it for the world.
"Not luckier than me."
"Do you really have to be this cheesy?"
"Says who said it first." Draco emphasised by hitting Harry over his chest lightly but they so quickly shifted into laughing that forgot for minutes that music was even there and that they were on a rooftop of the hotel away from everyone else.
It was now Harry's turn to stare into Draco's eyes and feel grateful. Yep, definitely, the luckiest man alive.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
"In this life and another."
"In this universe and all other."
And then they just stood there staring at each other with a heart full of warmth and love for one another. It was real, that night was real, this moment was real and tomorrow was going to be real too but to Harry the most real thing ever was his love for Draco, and Draco's for Harry. Everyone can talk about how they had the greatest love story ever, but this, goddamn, the most real thing and best ever.
Harry kept looking for a moment longer than one and then finally said, "okay, but seriously I don't want to be embarrassed, so show me."
Draco smiled at Harry, then slowly he readjusted Harry's hand and said, "eyes on me, move with me and the let the music guide us."
And then they tried again only for Harry to mess up again.
"Seriously, you are so going to need a backup dancer. I'm not even worried anymore, if I were you, I'd definitely get one." Harry sarcastically said shrugging.
Draco laughed and bought Harry's hand to his lips and kissed if softly, "I don't need any backup dancers or anyone, I want to dance with you and I will even if it means you trip and fall and take me down with you. I'll take that fall with you. I, Draco Malfoy take you in your terrible dancing, for my whole life."
Harry shook his head but this time out of fondness for the man he's gonna spend the rest of his life with, "good luck with that."
But Draco didn't need any good luck, he already had everything he ever wanted, right there in front of him and he was going to have it for the rest of his life, too and he could not be more happy.

No tears to make it happen

Hurt/ comfort
He went dressed, in the nice blue shirt he always did like a lot, eager to meet him after days of succumbing in sickness for a couple of days. He somewhere wondered if he too looked forward to meet him after all this time, after all these days, he wondered if he'd be happy to see him like he knew he was. His excitement could barely be stored in his own self but who was he to blame, he was just a boy who had feelings for someone, a mere boy who fell for someone he had no idea would ever like him back or not but simply played by the game of fate and faith to make it happen.
He was just as innocent as any nascent lover is.
It's not as if he didn't care about the rest of them, it's not as if he didn't care about meeting his other friends after a long time nor was it that any of them mattered him any less but it's just that if his heart was held captive by someone, it was only him, that one boy with eyes so green. He cared about meeting his friends who had been there for him much longer than anyone else but he’d be a liar if he said he wasn’t more excited to see him.
His excitement and happiness was so much that he even stumbled and almost tripped on his way over out but he made it work, he reached where he was supposed to and like he planned, like he wished, his eyes laid upon him, upon Harry and to his surprise he smiled while he walked towards him.
“You’re back from the dead.” he spoke first and there was only thing Draco hoped, that he didn’t blush as hard as he was thinking.
“Yeah, told you I’d be better in no time.” He shrugged.
“It’s a good thing, it was starting to get lonely without seeing you around here.” But he only wished he knew the effects those words had on him. He even wondered if he already knew about his feelings and whatever he said that would make his heart race was on purpose, so that they’d end this quest of who likes who and why and finally confront their feelings or he wondered if he said those things on purpose so he could see Draco blushing, because he perhaps liked it.
Draco tried to shake it off by a small shrug and said, “I’m sure it got really lonely because your eyes only search me.”
Harry only laughed and Draco only hoped that he laughed because it was true.
They spent their time walking around hogsmeade as usual, buying somethings here and there to keep in their dorms, to even do midnight snacking when Draco noticed Harry waving off to Ginny.
“Friends again, huh?” Draco asked.
“Oh, yeah definitely, that whole misunderstanding is past is now. Infact, I didn’t tell you, when you weren’t around, I spent most of my time with her, it was really fun.”
“Oh,” was all he could manage to say.
Draco wished that he could take this information as casually as he said but it hit him like a brick, a huge brick in his face and he somewhere felt sure that he won't be able to hide his traitorous voice.
“Yeah, It was really fun, we even went to that cliff side we normally go to and you wouldn’t believe all the jokes we both cracked up.” Harry said with a smile he couldn’t bring himself to hide, if not for his own sake, Draco hoped he’s do it for him but he didn’t.
“I thought the cliff side was our spot.” He said, a sense of hurt in voice he failed to hide.
“Why- Yes, I know but you weren’t there and I thought it wasn’t such a big deal, it isn’t, right?” and for what seemed like the first time he turned to see his face but Draco could barely manage to look in his eyes, so, he turned away. He knew his eyes would betray him.
“No, it’s not. It’s cool. So, what’d you even do?” He found himself asking.
“Oh, we had lots of fun, we spent the entire evening together, like I said we made so many jokes, she told stuff from her year, I told mine, we shared so many things we never did before you know and for the first time she really seemed into me, you know after the war.”
And there it was, the crack Draco had been fearing all evening to hear. The faint crack in his heart he was always scared of developing and now it was and there, in that moment he only wondered if Harry could hear his heart cracking too, if Harry could listen to the sound of his heart breaking, if Harry could catch the heart break in his voice, if Harry could see his heart breaking in Draco’s eyes.
“T- That’s a really good thing. Finally, you spent time with her, about time you know. I was getting tired of seeing you simp over her from across the table.”
He still wondered how did he even manage to say those words out loud when all he was actually doing was holding onto the corner of his shirt so tight that he could rip it apart.
Harry did a faint chuckle and if Draco’s heart didn’t shatter before hearing Harry’s words earlier, it sure broke now when he was able to witness the blush on his face that he could barely conceal and if his heart had already shattered before, it shattered way worse now.
But what his years of trauma and his years of unrequited love has taught him, it’s that, to always find peace in knowing that the person you liked or even loved belonged way better with somebody else. He didn’t want to say it out loud ever, nor did he ever expected anything different but for once maybe he really wished that Harry would see beyond the facade of Draco and even like him a little bit but by the looks of it, Draco knew Harry only had eyes for Ginny right now.
It hurt him. It hurt him like all the rest of the time it had hurt him. He wasn’t even jealous, he couldn’t even bring himself to be jealous, he was merely disappointed, in his own self.
“I haven’t been simping over her all that long.” Harry said finally.
Draco gave a faint smile and he wasn’t sure if it was for his own self or for Harry but he did it anyway and then he said, “Please, save me. Have you seen yourself? I have and I’ve literally seen you do puppy eyes at her, hell, even your voice changes when she’s around you. You like her so much, Harry, maybe you don’t even realise it all that much.”
Harry only looked for a moment at Draco before he smiled shyly and said, “I do like her, a lot.”
Draco only nodded despite what he really felt like doing. He just wanted to be a good friend.
A friend, that was all.
“Shall we go back? It’s going to be late if we stay longer.”
Harry nodded and they walked back to the castle.
That night when Draco finally walked back to his own dorm, he replayed the whole conversation in his own head, he remembered the way Harry smiled, the way Harry talked about Ginny and then he thought really hard about all those signs he took as Harry remotely being interested in Draco. He thought of all the ways Harry talked to him and how he mistook everything and he couldn’t pin down why but for the first time in his life, he really felt his heart shattering loudly. He had never understood the depth of his feelings until now when he thought about Ginny and Harry and how he wanted to be okay with it. He thought about it long enough to forget that he had sat in front of the fireplace and that he had shed a tear and two and it hit him then, he loved Harry. He didn’t simply like Harry like all the rest of the people he had liked before, no, he loved Harry and that realisation broke his heart all the more because he found himself thinking about Harry finding his happiness in Ginny and it hurt him all the more when he decided that there was nothing more he wanted than Harry being happy even if it meant ruling out his chances of being with him or even confessing his feelings to him.
He understood that Harry didn’t belong to him, he probably never will but one day Draco would have to make peace with the fact that one day he would see Harry’s hand wrapped around Ginny’s and there would be nothing he’d be able to do.
Draco and Harry would never be a thing and unfortunately, Draco learnt it that night and there were no tears that would make it happen.
It was soon that the common room door opened and Pansy walked in and saw him sitting in front of the fire place.
“Draco, you okay?’
Draco wiped the tears that had unconsciously left his eyes with the back of his shirt and nodded.
Pansy gave him a sympathetic look, perhaps she caught on what happened but she didn’t bring it up.
“I bought marshmallow’s, wanna eat?”
"With chocolate dip?"
"You bet."
