A/N: This is the second quick fic I've written after a long time, so I hope you guys like it! There's not much to say other than... I love writing for the sweet guy characters :D (Also, I'm going back through and editing stuff, cuz I was WAY TOO TIRED to be writing this in one sitting.)

Yamaguchi was never one to hide anything from Tsukishima, mainly because the blonde male would figure it out eventually, but Yamaguchi has a secret.

To be more specific... A secret crush!

Tsukishima, not noticing anything wrong with Yamaguchi, wasn't bothering the poor boy about his crush or his new found shyness towards you. The green haired boy continued to keep this a secret from his best friend, knowing that Tsukki would either push him to confess to you, or he'd tease him about how shy he was around you!

As the boys were warming up on the court, preparing for a practice match, you happened to pass by the open doors of the gym. You were delivering papers from your club to a joint club, but you couldn't help but take a detour to see the boys on the court. Specifically, you were looking for a particular boy on the court...

Your secret crush!

You decided that your club didn't have to know every little detail about your personal life, no matter how good of friends you all were to each other. So... You decided to keep the fact that you have a crush on Yamaguchi a secret. Besides, your members had no right to know! They're always digging into your personal life and ask you when you're going to get a boyfriend.

Oh, how you wished that Yamaguchi would be your boyfriend.

As you continued to make your way to the joint club, you realized that you could stall for time by saying you got caught up in talking to the club's leader, or you could say you fell on your way back to your clubroom and you had to go to the nurse and get a bandage.

No, that'd be absolutely crazy! You couldn't make up a lie just so you could stand in front of the open gym doors to watch a bunch of sweaty, stinky guys practicing volleyball. Well, you weren't intending to watch all of them.

The point is, you are not gonna come up with an excuse on why you weren't back in the clubroom in a reasonable time. You just couldn't do that...

You finally dropped off the papers at the joint clubroom's classroom, making sure to give the leader a greeting before heading back the way you came. You were sad thinking about how you wouldn't be able to watch Yamaguchi for just a little bit, but you have standards! You weren't going to purposely make your club members wait for you to come back. They'd gripe for a whole week if they found out why you weren't back in the classroom.

As you walked by the (still) open gym doors, you decided that admiring the boys (Yamaguchi) volleyball skills for a minute or two wouldn't hurt. In fact, your members would probably be impressed that you could take the time to appreciate the volleyball team honing their skills, rather than actively playing a game.

You went closer to the doors and received a polite head nod from Kiyoko, the team's manager. You spoke a small "hello" and proceeded to watch the boys (Yamaguchi) passing, tossing, serving, and spiking volleyballs left and right. Once you had your fill (you had to force yourself to leave), you gave a small wave to Kiyoko before walking closer to the outer area.

You thought walking down a couple of stairs would be an easy task, and your members would be none the wiser, but it turned out to be quite difficult...

On account that a volleyball smacked the back of your head, causing you to lose balance and fall to your knees. You groaned as you rubbed the back of your head in little attempt to remedy the situation, but the damage was already done.

You heard the sounds of fast feet running to your aid, or to simply see what had happened. You couldn't bear to face the embarrassment waiting for you at the door, so you continued to rub the back of your head, and hopefully the boys (not just Yamaguchi) would go away. You heard two loud boys screaming about how much trouble someone would be in with the captain, you heard a quiet discussion between Kiyoko and another player, and you heard someone walking slowly up to you.

You heard a frantic apology from the person right behind you, saying "I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to hit you!" a couple of times over again. You rushed to stand up so you could run far away from this and never come back, but you were turned around gently by the same person that was apologizing like his life depended on it.

Yamaguchi.

You couldn't believe that you were standing this close to your secret crush, and it seemed like the shy boy quieted down because he stopped apologizing as soon as you turned around. You both stared at each other as Yamaguchi continued to hold onto your shoulders, as if you were gonna disappear if he didn't. It felt like an eternity before you heard someone loudly clearing their throat behind your crush.

You both looked at the captain of the team, wondering what else was going to happen next. Daichi, the captain, had already dismissed the others and went up to the both of you, shaking his head. He patted the 1st year boy on the shoulder, grabbing so he could pull him closer.

"Yamaguchi, you're not in trouble, but since you hurt her head, I'm tasking you with taking them to the nurse's office." The younger boy nodded as he shyly looked back at you, letting you lead the way.

"Your head is fine, but if it's still throbbing, make sure to put this ice pack on it for a couple of minutes." The nurse told you as you and Yamaguchi made your way out of the room. You both gave your goodbyes and slowly walk back to the gym. You both didn't say much until you were halfway to the outer area. Yamaguchi, trying to sound cool and confident, quickly initiated the conversation.

"I'm really sorry about your head! I really didn't know that you were out there. I hope your head feels better soon." With the little confidence you had left in you, you nodded your head and looked at Yamaguchi closely.

"So you were aiming to hit the volleyball out the door?" The boy's cheeks blushed widely as he tried to give you a better explanation of what he was doing, but you only laughed at how panicked he was. He stopped in his tracks as you laughed at his attempts to save face, and you couldn't help but hear what he said next.

"You have a really pretty laugh! Just like you... I mean, you're not a pretty laugh, I mean that you're pretty- Oh my god, what am I saying!" You stared at him as he rambled more and more and kept digging his grave, but you couldn't help but smile. He thought you were pretty? You!? We're you dreaming?

You touched his upper back gently and rubbed his shoulder in appreciation. He blushed some more and only calmed down when you told him that you wanted his phone number. You really didn't know what came over you, but you were finally taking charge! You were actually talking to your crush, and he wasn't running away like you thought he would!

You eventually headed back to your clubroom, only to be met with a smack in the back by your members, asking you where you had been for so long. You explained what happened, excluding the parts where you basically confessed to your crush, and they all stopped bothering you about it.

You packed up to go home after your activities were over, and you stepped out into the cool breeze, feeling as though you were a new person (you weren't, but that didn't stop your high). You walked towards the bike racks to find your bike and go home, but something in the distance caught your eye.

Yamaguchi walked quickly towards your area, handing you a slip of paper. You were confused but remembered that he promised to give you his number later. He bowed and said one last thing.

"Text me whenever you want to and I'll answer as soon as I can! I'll try not to keep you waiting," he turned to make sure no one was behind him before he ran back to the gym.

"Be safe! C-Call me when you get home." And he was gone.

As the weeks passed by, you and Yamaguchi became closer than ever, and you quickly confessed your feelings to him because you were confident that he'd still be your friend even if he wasn't interested. Surprisingly (only to you), he said he liked you too, and you both began to take your relationship at a slow pace. The both of you were happy with the outcome!

But as Yamaguchi kept getting on his phone to message you, Tuskishuma started to notice how happy his best friend was staring at his phone... The blonde found out almost immediately that the green haired boy was messaging a special someone...

A... SECRET CRUSH?!

Tsukishima would never let that kind of info pass by him, and Yamaguchi certainly wouldn't keep a secret like that from him! There's no way.

But there is a way.

Tsukishima just has to ask. Act cool about it. If he makes it a big thing, Yamaguchi's gonna make it a bigger thing.

So, he asks.

"Tadashi,"

"Yes, Tsukki?"

"Is there something you're hiding from me?"

"W-Why would I hide anything from you?"

"Well, you're looking way too happy to be playing a regular old phone game. You must be messaging someone."

"I... I don't know what you're talking about, Tsukki!"

"..."

"..."

"You're dating someone, aren't you?"

"M-mind your business!"

That confirmed everything to Tsukishima. And just like Yamaguchi knew he would, the tall blonde started teasing him every chance he got, and he hadn't even met you yet!

"He walked up to me before class started and said, 'I know about you and Yamaguchi' and then he just walked off! What a guy..."

"Y/n!" Yamaguchi called out, stopping you from your tracks. "What do you want Tadashi..?" You mumbled, not really wanting to talk to his bestfriend. It's just gonna serve as a painful reminder, and you can't really deal with it right now.

"Are you oka-"

"Am I okay?! Are you being serious right now!? Yams, my boyfriend replaced me with Yachi!" You scoffed in disbelief, as Yamaguchi looked at you worriedly. The rage you are bottling up finally eploded and landed on poor Tadashi.

Word has already gone out and almost all students are either looking at you with pity or whispering the recent even that happened to their friend.

You didn't care anymore, Tsukishima Kei did you dirty. That scheming slimy bastard, you should've known. Even when you told yourself to be ready if his feelings weren't true, it doesn't mean it doesn't hurt less.

It probably hurts even more.

Yamaguchi looked around, he only then noticed the people who are crowding around you. He grabbed your hand and whisked you away to the rooftop, the stares and gossiping slowly dissappearing.

"It isn't fair.." You continued to cry, sobbing loudly as Yamaguchi looked at you with unknown emotions. "I know Y/n... I'll be here. Always." He tucked your stray hair in your neck with delicate fingers and wiped your tears away with his handkerchief.

The faint smell of Yamaguchi's cologne invaded your nostrils as you held the handkerchief along with his hand on your cheek, trying to find some sort of comfort.

You were caught off guard when he hugged you. Although you stayed silent and let him cage u in his caring arms.

Yamaguchi felt your body around him relax, a smile overtook his features as he nuzzled his face in your hair. The two of you always cuddle like this so it's no big deal, the only thing he needs to do is calm his raging heart. Atleast you can rest for a bit before facing the reality.

Next thing you knew, you were pulled away and Yamaguchi on the ground, getting punched.

"What- KEI! LET GO OF HIM!" You yelled, frantically runing and planning to stop the fight.

"This is what you wanted didn't you!?" Tsukishima yelled at his bestfriend, gripping the collar of his uniform in a vice grip. Never had you seen the two friends fight or even get into pretty serious fights with each other. It was always just a light hearted banter.

"You dumbass! Don't blame me for the stupid things you did!" Yamahuchi yelled back before landing a solid hit on Tsukishima's face.

"Yams! Please!" You yelled, trying to get in between, you heard Tsukishima scoff. "Seriously? I didn't know you could move on so fast Y/n-"

Slap.

The stinging sensation then made Tsukishima realized that is what he recieved from you. Your anger finally boiled over the more you stare at him. "Don't even start with me, Kei. You left me for her without even breaking up with me." You uttered, dangerously calm.

Yachi stood on the door leading to the rooftop as three pairs of eyes landed on her form.

"Kei-chan.. You told me you two broke up months ago.."

QUIRK OF: KARASUNO!

SUMMARY → what i think the quirks of the karasuno team members could be

CHARACTERS → sawamura daichi, sugawara koshi, azumane asahi, nishinoya yu, tanaka ryu, ennoshita chikara, kageyama tobio, hinata shoyo, tsukishima kei, yamaguchi tadashi, shimizu kiyoko, yachi hitoka

sawamura daichi ▸ this might be an unpopular opion but i think he might not have a quirk. he becomes a police officer in the future which doesn’t say he has no quirk at all but most of them don’t have any big quirks... and i just think he wouldn’t have one.

sugawara koshi ▸ an empathy type quirk. it can be either that he feels people their emotions or he can make people feel better about themselves. obviously he would call his first technique “negativity be gone” how could he not?

azumane asahi ▸ our future fashion designer has a creation quirk, but he can only make fabrics. to do so he does need to know how the fabrics work ( which he learns in fashion school anyways ) to be able to creat them. because of his quirk many classmates want to work together as fabrics are EXPENSIVE. unfortunately for them ; asahi has a string moral compas and only makes them when absolutely necessary. otherwise he’ll buy them locally.

nishinoya yu ▸ an electric based quirk ( this is definitely not because he was born with that streak in his hair, definitely not ) he can burst out electricity from the streak of his hair as attacks and can also absorb it through his hair and he calls his strongest attack “rolling thunder”

tanaka ryu ▸ gigantification. honestly i was at a lost of what ryu his quirk would be... but then i was like; GIANT TANAKA! he wants to be intimidating? he got it. his quirk allows him to tower over anyone and anything. he might be wingless but if you are ready to rumble so is he.

ennoshita chikara ▸ telekenises. you can not tell me this man would not just be able to pick up things with his mind. “hey, ennoshita can you hand me the volleyball?” “no” ; *uses his mind to slam it in their face* ( could also see ... not condoning it, but it would be helpful with cheating, yk? being able to nudge the ball in the right way )

kageyama tobio ▸ an analytical/calculating quirk that allows him to see the situation and tell him with a 99% accuracy what the next action of the person is. it used to be a lot lower, but by training it will get higher. also, if he continues on with his training he one day might be able to influence their decision as well.

hinata shouyo ▸ jumping as high as he does is a super power at it self and that’s exactly why his quirk is being able to jump very high. as it gets higher by training they did not know his quirk until his early teen years. the doctor was aware that he had a quirk but could not pinpoint what it was.

tsukishima kei ▸ is being salty a quirk? it is now. his quirk is being able to physically hurt someone by shading them. the downfall is that he has to know where to hurt them for the final knock-out, but over the years he has found the general insecurities almost everyone has.

yamaguchi tadashi ▸ a flower type quirk. any naturally grown ogarnism he knows the meaning of and it’s living invorment he can grown out of his skin by will of power. he can also use his hands to let them re-grow or blossom again when they are struggling/dying. ( yes, i am pushing my flower-boy yams agenda )

shimizu kiyoko ▸ a speed type quirk like quicksilver. she was in track and was amazing at it, if she had a quirk i think it could be that.

yachi hitoka ▸ she can make anyone feel an incredibly strong infatuation or love towards her for a set amount of time. after some tests where done they found out it was not longer then 15 minutes. how they found out? her pupils turn heart-shaped as she used her quirk.

The sweetheart would probably get you a few daffodils and present them to you with the most adorable blush on his little freckled cheeks.

He most definately looked up the meanings for almost every flower he could get his hands on.

When he confesses, it's probably in a very non-crowded spot, like on school grounds after hours.

He would want to take you to the nearby park to look at the tadpoles in the pond because he's just a sweet little wierdo like that.

He's definately asked your friends what your favourite chocolates are because he surprises you with them along with the flowers.

He really went all out for you, he's even ironed his school clothes.

Tsukishima is definately standing behind a bush somewhere not too far off. The tall blonde tried to act like it was against his will but he worries secretly that Yamaguchi might actually be crushed if you were to reject him.

You're definately very bashful and embarrassed but so is Yama so it's fine.

There's also a note in your locker because he was heavily contemplating not confessing face-to-face, and he's currently internally panicking on how he's gonna get it back so he doesn't look like a fool in front of the person he has more than just a little crush on.

While he's confessing he rambles a lot, and you realise just how close he pays attention to all your little changes, like a different skin or haircare routine and it makes him all the more adorable in your eyes.

The little mopheaded baby scrunches up his face and closes his eyes tight with anxiety as he speaks, shakily holding up the flowers and chocolate and bowing to you, making you sweatdrop as you try to get him to calm down a little, scared he might faint and die where he stands.

even over the tv's droning noise, you hear that faint sound of snoring. with your head gently resting on his chest, you know yamaguchi tadashi is knocked out above you right now. 

all you can do is stare absentmindedly at the glowing screen in front of you both in the living room. because how can you follow along with this tv show's plot when it is quite actually taking every fiber of your being not to turn your head to look at the view you exactly know is there?

no matter how many times you hear the keys jangle as tadashi unlocks the door to your humble little shared apartment, 

he drops his bag next to his never-quite-polished-enough shoes, 

throws off his employee id and comes searching for you with nothing but outstretched arms that yearn to hold you as he tells you about "the longest day" at work,

drapes himself over you all throughout the making of dinner in the kitchen, or as you retrieve the take-out that was dropped off at the front door, 

says "the dishes can be for tomorrow" and suggests to instead finish that show that for some odd reason you two have never been able to get through, 

and falls asleep by the time you get through a second episode–still in his work clothes except for an undone tie hanging loosely around his slightly unbuttoned shirt, mind you–with you snug against him just like this...

you could never get tired of that moment you start to hear the light in-and-out of breathing, right by your ear, tickling the back of your neck. the funny feeling of butterflies always erupts in your chest at that point.

among the many nights you've found yourself in this moment, there have been a few where you've taken the risk in waking your hardworking tadashi up, to see the picture of very peace itself (you firmly believe it is, at least):

everything is still, except for one or two stray strands of tadashi's hair, which gets blown about by the air conditioning unit not too far away from where you two are on the couch. his lips are parted the tiniest bit as his mind and body is having a well-deserved rest, and it would be comical if you didn't find him just so damn charming. and his long lashes are ever so slightly brushed against the freckles that adorn his nose and cheeks.

what's insane is that as annoying the tv is in this scenario, it serves a very vital role. it lights up those alluring freckles, as a colorful reflection of whatever's going on in the forever-unfinished show dances on your tadashi's sleeping face. it makes his freckles shine almost like they're stars.

if tadashi hasn't woken up by the turning of your body at that point (his arms are still very securely wrapped around you, by the way), 

and his eyes haven't reluctantly fluttered open, 

and you haven't had to gently remind him that he should probably change out of his work clothes and freshen up before he falls asleep again, 

and the two of you sadly untangle yourselves and depart from your perfectly comfy position on the couch,

and the apartment air suddenly feels staggeringly cold...

you've enjoyed facing him like that for a while. you would count each star over and over again, finding new constellations and nebulas and comets each time–

no, you can't risk it tonight, you think this time. that image brings you so much enjoyment it's naturally been engrained in your memory, anyway. just close your eyes, and picture it again.

but maybe one look can't hurt. maybe tonight, the risk isn't so bad. you realize: you have many more nights to spend filled with your favorite stars, after all.

You barely even had time to register that you tripped. Daichi is paying such close attention to you that he catches you instantly and places you back on your feet. You keep walking as if nothing as happened, but Daichi looks more closely at the road ahead of you instead of into your eyes so he can avoid the possibility of you tripping the again.

Noya

Laughs.

Asahi

Kneels down on the grown next to you and then grabs you and holds you like you’re dying in his arms…. You go along with it becasue you don’t want him to let you go just yet…

Kageyama

Doesn’t even notice

Tsukishima

Keeps walking and calls you a clutz. You could be seriously hurt but he won’t turn around to help you unless you ask for it. If he realizes you’re injured he’ll abandon the apathetic cool boy act faster than Kageyama can down a box of milk.

Sugawara

Catches you before you hit the ground and spins you around in the air. Calls you his “clumsy little cutie” and offers to carry you the rest of the way.

Yamaguchi

Tried too laugh it off with you but is worried the rest of the way. Every time you twitch his arms shoot out as if to catch you even though you where just bending down to pick up a pencil that fell out of you bag.

Hinata

He breaks the fall, but doesn’t mind

His crushing hug afterward is more dangerous than the fall

Oikawa

Laughs but still helps you up like a gentleman. Will never let you live down the fact that you tripped and face planted one time. ONCE.

Kenma

Just stares at you as you get up. Quietly asks if you’re ok. Continues walking like nothing happened but he has a slight blush on his cheeks and his glance wonders to you more often than before, just to make sure you’re really ok.

Kuroo

After making sure you’re ok, he picks you up bridal style and carried you the rest of the way.

If you try to object he ignores you because he knows you want to be carried just as much as he wants to carry you.

Tendou

Fake trips right after you so you don’t feel bad. Probably accidentally hurts himself in the process, but he brushes it off.

Ushijima

Silent. Dead silent. Offers you a hand and you take it but he’s not even looking at you– like he expected you to trip.

Lev

Grabs the back of your shirt to stop you, nearly choking you but at least he didn’t laugh.
