Me and my roommate have been watching Sherlock. It's the 3rd episode of the 3rd season and it is FUCKING THRILLING (I only just started. Don't judge.) And then, with only 9 more minutes to go, my roommate PAUSES THE EPISODE and says he can't go on because he's falling asleep!!! And therefore, so can't I, since we have an agreement to only watch it together! (I should have never agreed to that) AND I DONT KNOW WHEN WE WILL BE ABLE TO CONTINUE!!! I CANNOT!

You cannot convince me otherwise that Tinky, Blinky and Nibbly are the closest. Like- sure, Tinky likes Wiggly, but who is he ginna have tea parties with first choice? NIBBLY AND BLINKY. Who does Nibbly, being youngest, go bother first? TINKY. Who does Blinky go to spill all the tea to? NIBBLY. Those three are just the opitomy (how do I spell that) of young children tornados.

I adore this line not only because here we have Legolas saying explicitly that he loves Aragorn, but it demonstrates just how deeply he does.
“Love” is a word Legolas uses only twice in the LOTR trilogy, and only when speaking of Aragorn: he uses it once in describing the love Aragorn inspires in others (himself included), and then here in this quotation, declaring he wants to follow the war’s uncertain path to the end for love of Aragorn.
And there’s this profound juxtaposition Legolas makes, placing Aragorn right alongside Mirkwood: Gimli cites the honor of his people and his home for why he fights on; but for Legolas, Aragorn is tantamount to family; Aragorn is tantamount to home.
Then it makes sense why after the war, while Gimli goes to live with Éomer in Rohan, Legolas chooses to live under Aragorn’s rule in Ithilien. Home is Aragorn, after all.
And it makes sense why Legolas packs up Gimli (with Galadriel’s help of course) and leaves Middle-earth immediately following Aragorn’s death. Legolas had said, following the war, that he would deny his Sea-longing to remain in Middle-earth “… a while: a month, a life, a hundred years of Men” (The Field of Cormallen). Indeed, Aragorn’s life ends after 122 years of rule. And suddenly Legolas, still young by measure of Elves and living in a thriving Elven colony, departs Middle-earth.
He has no more reason to stay, because Aragorn is gone. Home is Aragorn, and home is gone.
