I think that's where Mo got his name, just like all his bots
It's really cool
im always so happy to see you post, tbh anything written by you is so lovely <3
I like to think that I don’t let too many WIPS pile up. But I have let these things get out of hand. And I’m gonna list them. Because… maybe someone will see one and convince me to actually write it?
Here we go:

Going to be honest, my first thought on seeing those dates was ‘I’d read that sci-fi series.’
Listen my dudes Ancient Egypt existed for a really fuckass long time. Literally just Pharaonic civilization lasted 3,000 years. That’s not even including predynastic civilization and Roman rule. If you lump that in you’re looking at more like… 5,000 years. Like. If you want a comparison of how long that is: THE YEAR IS CURRENTLY 2018. TWO THOUSAND. TWO-THIRDS OF ANCIENT EGYPTIAN PHARAONIC CIVILIZATION HAVE HAPPENED SINCE THE ‘BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST’ We comparatively just entered the Third Intermediate Period. The Greeks will not take over for another 700~ years. Cleopatra will not be born until the year 2931.
It’s a really long time guys.

sorry if none of this made sense, the majority was written at stupid o'clock in the morning
Me and my friends have been assigning each other things at lunch
i'm not a fan of the hunger games movies but there’s something so good about that scene in catching fire where peeta has just dropped the “if it weren't for the baby” bomb.
like how all the tributes hold hands and when caesar turns around and sees them like that, a really cold expression passes over his face before he motions to the camera crew/production team to cut it out with a throat slitting gesture- ugh! cinema!
idk if im explaining myself well here, but i feel like it’s implied that the interview is almost a microscale version of the climate in panem. caesar’s little throw-away gesture is evocative of the idea of sending someone to the chopping block/slaughterhouse and it represents snow’s own aims to eradicate katniss’s species- the victors (or at least katniss) haven’t been doing enough of a good job at staying obedient so snow intends to shut them up in the games just like caesar indicates for the production team to do against the much smaller scale backdrop of the interviews

Note: Since my old masterlist is getting notes again (and I'm hosting @tbb-appreciation-week this year), I thought it's a good time to release a new version with a lot more resources. If any of you know another site or thing that it's missing from the list, let me know and I'll include it!! [Altho, I'm getting this close 🤏 to the hyperlinks limit on this thing 😆]
Note 2: To avoid tagging the 3 people from whom I got multiple resources repeatedly, I've placed 1-3 asterisks between square brackets after the links, depending on the OP. I give the respective credit to them in a legend at the end of the post.

WRITING IN GENERAL (For those who don't want to die like Stormtroopers)
SlickWrite: Completely free; online. Checks grammar, punctuation, flow, and writing style according to different settings (including fiction writing).
ProWritingAid: [RECOMMENDED] One of the most thorough online proofreader I've ever used. Although when using a free account gives extremely thorough feedback, with +20 different in-depth reports, for only the first 500 words. However, you can earn a premium account license (for a year or for life) if you get 10 or 20 new users signing up for free; (if you wouldn't mind doing so using the link above and help me earn mine, please). The settings allow you to check your writing according to your needs, from general to formal to creative. It has a bonus that you can check depending on the genre you're writing. For example, in creative, you can choose romance or sci-fiction (there are 14 sub-genre in total). And just like google docs, you can share a document, and people can view, comment or edit it too.
LanguageTool: [RECOMMENDED] Another excellent proofreader. It also has a word limit in free accounts, but if you use the add-on for Google Docs, it counts each page as a new document, so hitting the word limit is nearly impossible. It helps you to rewrite a sentence (3 a day), even if it doesn't raise any flags; it's very useful for when your sentence is grammatically correct, but it doesn't feel quite right.
Grammarly, Hemingway Editor: No so great, but they do the basic job.

HOLY SHIT as a knitter who is also a historian i NEED to get my hands on one of these
Who wants to hear about my new obsession? Great. Textile people, knitting folks, fiber peeps, history of those things lovers, and archives/special collections comrades, this is for us.
So a few weeks ago, in the midst of A Big Sad, I set out on the simple distracting mission of giving my mom the link to something I want for Christmas. Long story short, I failed. I fell down a deep rabbit hole on traditional Estonian knitting and ended up ordering a book on the subject from Estonia for myself. Anyway, it arrived and holy shit.

300 pages of fiber/knitting/history nerdiness. The first hundred cover Estonian knitting history, including archaeological finds (bog body knitwear!), regional traditions, dyes and colors, museum collections and patterns reconstructed from them!

As an archivist, I lost it when I saw this, a helpful guide to searching Estonian museum collections for English speakers. Vocabulary for knitwear collections! Navigating the search features! MIND BLOWN. In the history intro section, they recommend books on knitting history with the website link to libraries with free digital copies. They are pulling me farther into the rabbit hole and I am here for it.

And because I am a knitter and an archivist, they included a basic guide on preservation and care of vintage knitwear. I am crying rn

Ok, history is cool and all but what about the knitting??? It is amazing. This volume is not complete patterns but more of a stitch/pattern encyclopedia that can be added to other projects. It includes tips on color palate while providing reference to various traditional plates of different regions of Estonia

So these are suggested stranded colorwork patterns for mittens. But use them wherever

Stranded colorwork, intarsia in the round, lace, cables, interlay, enterlac, fringes, brioche, boarders/edging, several cast-ons I had never seen

The second volume (hard to find) is all on socks/stockings, and volume 3 (which has just been released in English) is all about mittens and I might have ordered it this morning.
It is not the easiest book to track down, nor the cheapest. As I said, I ordered it from Estonia. Amazon and Amazon owned Abe Books both had it for around $70. I, personally, refuse to give bezos money and, in this case if you are considering buying it, I encourage you to order it from this shop in Estonia. Even with international shipping, taxes, fees, and such, it was actually about $10 cheaper.
Me after posting about agere more than I actually regress

so I have a theory, specifically about the Pixie Hollow movies. I know the way it works is different in the books, so just the movies for this one.
So when Tinkerbell did the whole talent choosing ceremony when she first came into existence, the fact that the hammer glowed really brightly was a major thing, but I never understood why it was such a big deal. and they also mentioned how Vidia's glowed as well, just not as brightly.
so to start, there are over a hundred different talents in Pixie Hollow that all fall under certain categories prepresented in that choosing ceremony
it is my theory that the brighter your chosen object glows, the more sub talents you can do. So when Tinkerbell's hammer fuckin blinded the audience, that meant that she can do any and all tinker talents (which is a lot). And I mentioned Vidia and she is important for this too. Fast Flying is a rare talent as is, very few fairies have it, it is also one that has the least sub talents, I believe it's only three. So when Vidia's glowed brightly, it meant that not only did she get a rare talent but also, more than just one sub talent, but not all of them, that's why it wasn't as bright as Tinkerbell's.
Bruce Wayne, age 17, hearing the Black Parade album for the first time while laying unmoving on a cold concrete for the entire 51 minutes and 53 seconds straight:

in batman 2022 bruce wayne's parents were killed in 2001 he would have been like 10? i think. the black parade was released in 2006 when he would have been ambiguously high school aged and obviously very emo and unpopular. what i'm saying here is that i think battinson heard the lyrics "when i was a young boy my father took me into the city to see a marching band he said son when you grow up will you be the savior of the broken, the beaten, and the damned" and decided to become batman then and there.
Quick tell me what your guilty pleasure fic genre/crossover/ship/trope is in the tags
