So canonically, Kaz is totally jacked. Like he holds the weight of a grown man on multiple occasions. And I don't know about anyone else, but if I take a couple weeks off from working out, my muscle mass tanks, so like. Kaz must be working out like every single day. That's the real reason Kaz doesn't sleep much. Does paperwork all day, works out all night. Inej gets back from a mission and goes to drop off a contract at 3 am and Kaz is just doing vertical pushups

Juliet looked up from her book, her eyes meeting his. "Yes, Kaz?"

He opened his mouth to speak, but the words tangled in his mind. 'I love you,' he wanted to say. It was on the tip of his tongue, the three words he had practiced in his mind countless times. 'I love you,' why couldn’t he force it out of his mouth? "Your hair is shorter."

Juliet laughed, a light sound that filled the room. "Took you three days to notice," she teased before going back to her book.

I think about this so so frequently. I'm not even kidding. Ask @marsplastic13 how many times I've mentioned it to her. It's one of my biggest pet peeves about soc fanfics when authors use his disability as a plot device instead of a daily part of his life.

i love how kaz's disability is actually described as affecting him day to day and not just there so he can use a prop in a cool way. like the recurring descriptions of how much his leg is hurting him, and how he (somewhat) struggles, even if he hides it well, to do things like walk up stairs. idk i just appreciate how leigh could have just said "kaz has a disability and needs a cane" and left it at that and just had him use his cane as a cool weapon but didn't. there are actual descriptions about his leg affecting him, and the audience is reminded of it frequently when we read from his pov, because it's something he has to deal with very frequently!! even with his mental disability too—we're reminded of it very frequently because it's a part of him and not just something he has for the excuse of giving his character gloves and being edgy. i digress. but i really do appreciate how disabilities through kaz's character aren't overly romanticized and used as a cheap excuse to add props to him.

I am normal about six of crows. I have never reread the bathroom scene. I didn’t put down the book for several minutes when I read “He was just Wylan Van Eck. He told them everything.” I don’t fantasize about the Ice Court heist before I fall asleep. I definitely haven’t tabbed every single Kanej scene.

This scene is not good for me mentally.

Thinking about how 17 year old Kaz Brekker could determine that Sturmhond was the King of Ravka within two minutes of meeting him, yet the Darkling (thousand year old immortal) could not discern that even after TWO WEEKS on a ship with him. Not to mention that Kaz had never even seen Nikolai’s face and the Darkling had literally met him before?!?

I understand the Darkling is a complex character, had good intentions, yadayada, etc etc. HOWEVER, I will never understand Darklina. Like he literally said, “I will strip away all that you know, all that you love, until you have no shelter but mine.” The definition of toxic and abusive.

It’s not fair that Wylan and David never met. But it might be for the better considering them in the same room would cause a category 7 autism event™️

If Wylan had worked with David and Nikolai on weapons while Ravka was at war with Fjerda, Fjerda would’ve been FLATTENED

Yeah chapter 40 is soul crushingly depression, but have you read the Wylan St Hilde chapter

Honestly Kaz having a “horrible haircut” is so in character. Like who would he let touch his hair besides himself? He doesn’t have any experience cutting hair soooo obviously it’s gonna look choppy
