Knew - Cal Kestis

“What are you doing here Cal Kestis?” Y/n came out of the shadows but not enough for her to be fully recognized, with a cloak covering up her features.

“How do you know who I am?” Cal asked while moving his hand to the hilt of his lightsaber. Just in case the shadowed woman becomes a threat.

“We knew eachother once Kestis.” She smiled although Cal could barley see it. Y/n stepped out of the shadows, slowly pulling off her hood. “What? Don’t recognize me?”

Cal stood there in shock with his jaw dropped. “Y/n?”

Y/n smirked taking a joking bow, raising her arms out to the side. “In the flesh.”

“Where have you been?” Cal asked walking closer to his old padawan friend.

“Had to stay hidden.” she shrugged

“I thought you died in the Jedi Purge.” The concern in his voice very noticeable.

“So do most, Cal.” Y/n sighed, looking down. She has missed him a lot, seeing him alive and breathing is a relief. “If it makes a difference, I lost it when I heard you might have died in Order 66.”

Cal gave her a small smile, they were close back during their training together. She was one of the people he worried about most when it all went down years back. “Where were you? When it happened.”

Cal could see that her playfulness left her eyes at his question, which worried him about her answer. Y/n took in a shaky breath before answering. “Mustafar. With Master Obi-Wan and Master Anakin. It’s a long story, but after everything happened I went into hiding.”

“Are Masters Obi-Wan and Master Skywalker alive?” he asked with wide eyes.

“There in hiding. Skywalker more than anyone.” Y/n gulped, looking down finding her boots very interesting. She knew it was not the full truth but it also wasn’t false. To her, both men are in hiding. Just one more than the other.

“Y/n, do you want to join me?” Cal asked after noticing her shut down a bit. “I can tell you miss it.”

Y/n smiled looking up at him through her eyelashes. “I’d love to join you Cal Kestis.”

“An I love that you are Y/n Y/L/N.” He smiled back pulling her into a well-needed hug for both of them.

The Right Thing - Cal Kestis

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

It had been a long day. Cal and y/n had headed off to their shared room to get some rest. Most of the other members of the crew had done the same to get some sleep. Although Y/n was having a hard time trying to fall asleep. Her brain just would not shut off.

“Cal?” Y/n spoke softly to not wake anyone else up. Looking over at Cal, hoping he was indeed awake.

“Yeah?” Cal answered her, showing he was also awake.

“Do you ever wonder if we’re doing the right thing?” she questioned looking straight up staring at the ceiling, hands fidgeting as she layed on her bed.

“What do you mean?” Cal asked, he to was laying down on his own bed, but he turned his head to glance at her.

“Earlier when Merrin asked if we were putting the future younglings in danger by finding them and then training them. Do you think that she might be right?” Y/n’s voice was shaky as she spoke. Ever since Merrin had pointed it out Y/n hasn’t been able to stop thinking about it.

“Y/n, finding and training them is the only way we can defeat the empire. To defeat the Emperor and Darth Vader.” Cal leaned up on his left forearm to face her direction.

“That's not what I asked, Cal. Are we going to be putting innocent children into a situation that's basically a death sentence?” Y/n mimicked his positioning but on her right forearm. Y/n’s brow was furrowed, she was really concerned about this and that was obvious to Cal. It’s also understandable.

“Maybe.” He sighed, Cal had to admit that he thought about it as well. An it wasn’t sitting well with him either.

“I understand that the Empire needs to be taken down. And to do that we need more Jedi… But I don’t want to give these kids a death sentence. I don’t want to have their blood on my hands.” Y/n whimpered and her eyes started to fill with tears.

“Oh, Y/n/n.” Cal got up and went over to her and sat down on her bed. He pulled her into him in a tight hug.

“I’m sorry.” she hiccupped into his chest, wrapping her arms around him tightly.

“No, no. You don’t have a thing to be sorry about.” Cal pulled back just enough to look her in the eyes. He moved his hands up to cup her face using his thumb to wipe away the tears running down her cheeks. “If I’m being honest, I’m worried about all of it as well.” Cal ran his fingers through her hair. It was a comforting act of affection.

“What are we gonna do, Cal?” Y/n asked looking into his eyes.

“First we’re going to finish what we started and once we do that…” Cal sighed, there wasn’t much to decide on until they have completed their task at hand. “We’ll decide what to do when it’s time.”

Even though it wasn’t a real solution to the problem. Its all they could do for now. “Ok.”

“Now lets go get some more sleep.” Cal smiled, but it didn’t reach his eyes. This was a heavy thought on both of their minds, but until the time comes they can’t decide what to do about it. Both just hope that they make the right decision in the end.

Y/n couldn’t believe her eye’s at the sight in front of her. On Tattoonie of all places. It was obvious that he was hiding. That’s the only reason people come to Tattoonie. But from the looks of it, he was hiding from someone outside the alleyway he was tucked in. But of course, after Order 66 who left alive wouldn’t be in hiding? Y/n decided to approach him, worst that could happen, he doesn’t remember her. Right?

“Master Kenobi your not very good at hiding.” Y/n giggled as she watched her old friend jump. “I remember you use to be much better.” She smiled looking off to the side with a smug smile.

Obi-Wan turned around at the sound of the voice behind him. It couldn’t be. He hadn’t seen her since Order 66. “y/n?”

“In the flesh.” she shrugged with a teasing smile. But by the look on his face this wasn’t a time for teasing or jokes.

“Where have you been? I thought you died.” he turned to face her fully in the alleyway on Tattoonie. This is the last place Obi-Wan thought he’d ever see anyone from the past.

“Do you have somewhere not in the open to talk about this?” Y/n asked looking around to see it anyone was watching them. Or listening to their conversation.

Obi-Wan understood where her concern was coming from. So with that he grabbed her hand, and adjusted his hood. Leading her to the place he’s been hiding out in. It was a nice little place. Almost reminded Y/n of where they found Anakin back when she was a padawan along with Obi-Wan.

“What happened, Y/n? I thought you were dead. Yoda thinks your dead, so does Bail Organa.” Obi-Wan asked once they settled into his place of residence.

“Thought that was the point. Stay under the radar, pretend you’re dead. So the Empire thinks your dead. That Order 66 was completed.” Y/n shrugged her shoulders. Did she feel guilty? Yes, of course she does. But it’s not like she really had a choice. Not unless she wanted to endanger him and herself. “Obi, I couldn’t go and try to find you. I didn’t know where you were hiding out and I definitely didn’t want to risk your life by leading anyone to you either.”

Even though he understood where she was coming from it still hurt. But Obi-Wan would rather have her stay safe than put herself in danger. It was sweet also that she was concerned about his safety. Moves to sit down before asking a less complicated question. “Where have you been all this time?”

Y/n sighed, moving to sit down as well. Folding her hands together. “I haven’t stayed in one place for longer than a year.”

“Why not?” Obi-Wan tilted his head in question.

“I’m afraid… I’m afraid that they will find me. So I keep on the move. I know its not in the Jedi way, but . . . Ben. The Jedi are gone, the practice is gone and I hate to say it but-” She looked down feeling ashamed for hiding, and for her thoughts and opinions on the Jedi Order she was once a part of.

“What? You can tell me, Y/n.” he moved closer towards her, hoping his closeness would comfort her and make her feel comfortable enough to tell him. They use to be close. So close they told each other everything.

“I like it. I like being free to feel things and be free to discover who I am besides just a Jedi. Don’t get me wrong I loved being a Jedi, but it is nice to have some of the things that we couldn’t in the order.” Y/n smiled looking at her old friend with what Obi-Wan could describe as relief bliss, maybe even also joy.

“I get what you mean.” he nodded in understanding.

“You do?” she looked at him in shocked

“Yeah.” Obi-Wan gave her a small smile. “Speaking of non-Jedi Order things we can now do or have.”

Y/n reached out for his hand and interlaced their fingers together. Looking Obi-Wan in the eyes with gentle eyes. “You can tell me Obi-Wan.”

“Y/n would you like to stay here with me?” he asked hoping she would say ‘yes’.

“I don’t understand.” she asked with her head tilted.

“Would you like to stay here with me. An maybe try to be more than friends.” he cringed at how cheesy it sounded. “Maybe pursue what we discussed a few years back- before everything happened.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Flashback
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“y/n, we need to talk about this.” Obi-Wan stressed as he followed her through the Jedi temple.

“Yes. But not here.” Y/n spun around to face him. She looked around to make sure they were far from any listening ears. “You know if the council heard us we’d be expelled from the Jedi Order.”

Obi-Wan glanced around as well before speaking. “That’s exactly why we need to talk about this-”

Y/n poked his chest, cutting him off. “I haven’t been the one avoiding it Obi-Wan and you know that!.”

He sighed nodding in admittances to her statements. “I will admit I have been reluctant to discuss the topic at hand.”

“Yet, you say the feelings are mutual.” She gave a tight-lipped smile before scoffing and shaking her head.

Obi-Wan glanced around before pulling her with him to a secluded area a few feet away from where they had stopped walking. Obi-Wan shook his head moving forward to cup her cheeks in between his hands. Looking her in the eyes with full-on adoration. “They are, my Love. I can promise you that.”

“What is there left o talk about?” Y/n lifted her arms up in exclamation before they fell back at her sides. “With the code not allowing attachments, relationships. Nothing can happen even if we want it to.”

As much as Obi-Wan wishes that he could do something about it, he can’t. The Jedi Order has rules that must not be broken.

“Maybe if later on the council ever changes the code or - you know things could change.” he tried to keep the hope up, even if they both knew it was more than likey a lost cause. “I’ll always care deeply for you, my love. Maybe in a different life or at a different time, we could be more.”

“I’ll always care deeply for you as well my dear Obi-Wan. Our Time just isn’t now.” Y/n stated tilting her head to the side with a sad look before leaving off to do her Jedi Duties. Leaving Obi-Wan in the small darkish hallway to his thoughts.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
End Flashback
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Y/n sighed running a hand through her hair shyly. “You remember that?”

“Of course I do. The things we talked about, the feelings. They were and on my part still are, mutual.” Obi-Wan smiled at her embarrassment.

Y/n smirked, lifting her head. “Still are?”

“Yes, dear.” Obi-Wan smiled. “Still are.” he nodded.

“They’re still there for me as well." she bit her lip

“Really?” Obi-Wan looked shocked

“Yes, really. I have had feelings for you Ben since we were padawan’s.” Y/n laughed lightly, using his nickname. It was as if no time had passed between them. An now with the Order gone they have a chance to be together.

Bowynn Gods: Maenna

Bowynn Gods: Maenna

A Troop of goddesses standing before Maeanna

Maenna  (Main-nah)  Maenna, sometimes spelled and pronounced Maeanna, is the Bowynn goddess of order, law, truth, justice, just victories and balance in the pantheon. Created by Bia itself, she is the godly incarnate of Bia. Considered so blessed, all other gods honor her, including Anhur, King of the gods himself.

     There are no sacred stories of Maenna, as she cannot be persuaded to take a view or hold a view over another. When Ahnur holds court or stands in at a mortal hearing, Maenna is in attendance as well, Even if Ahnur is not present himself. In some way, Maeanna is Anhur's balance in this aspect. She is there to make sure truth is revealed, that justice is done, and balance is restored to those when a crime or injustice has been committed on.  Maenna, like Bia itself, represents the ethical and moral principle that every Bowynn citizen is expected to follow throughout their daily lives. They are expected to act with honor and truth in manners that involve the 7 virtues, family, the community, the nation, the environment, and the gods. Maenna as a principle was created by Bia to meet the complex needs of the emergening Bowynn tribes that embraced diverse peoples with conflicting interests. The development of such rules sought to avert chaos and it became the basis of Bowynn law. It was all this that Maenna taught the first tribes during her 7 days with them. From an early period the 7 tribal chiefs would describe themselves as the "council of Maenna" who decreed with their wisdom came directly from Maenna. Maenna represented the normal and basic values that formed the backdrop for the application of justice that had to be carried out in the spirit of truth and fairness.

     The goddess Maenna was more than just a goddess. She came to represent the concept of balance and order because many Bowynn needed to explain the balance of the world around them. Everything about their culture was centered on order and everything had its place in the world. This included religion, governmental affairs, and seasonal changes. Maenna is also known as the goddess of justice and truth. Her teachings can be compared to the conscience of a person. It’s reasonable to say that Maenna’s teachings aided the people into being good individuals. It was considered a crime against Maenna if a person practiced jealousy, dishonesty, gluttony, laziness, injustice, and ungratefulness.

     Maenna is depicted is a tall woman of motherhood age. Agile and regal in appearance. Sometimes depicted winged, her wings are massive and pure white. It is said when her wings are out right, the light of justice shines. It is Maenna's wings and light that attendants swear by before attending court. Maenna is seen with a crown of apple leaves (most sacred tree of the Bowynn faith) and in turn, when new judges are appointed, they too are crowned with apple leaf wreathes. In godly form she is seen with long flowing white robes and a white hladd over and a staff in her hands. In her totem form she takes the appearance of a white swan. Sacred gifts to the goddess come in the form of incense, flowers, herbs and crowns of apple leaves.

orders and gods and stuff

Everything needs order. It might not always work, but it makes people more civilized and more synchronized. It's teamwork that can have people be much more efficient in their duties because of sharing and stuff. Not to mention I guess, while a bunch of deities are cool and all, some people would prefer this one main person whose all important. Or as like, the main face, the.. I can't remember what they're called. Poster boy?

Point is, if people look at Greek mythology but are a newbie, they'll at least know of Zeus, and point out Zeus as a god. So on and so on.

Or people looking at Egyptian mythology from an outsider perspective might think of Ra first, as the big ol' important sun god.

I mean, nearly everyone, even if they don't believe in Christianity, or have even touched a bible know of God. (..and Jesus Christ)

Or Buddhism with the Buddha.

Also the family tree stuff probably made it more.. human? People being related to people. I don't really know, but since back then people would know that they were born via their parents, then it would only be logical to have that explanation be added to the gods as well, it just means that their parents might've been a whole lot more. well. more.

It likely would've made sense in their eyes (they'd literally just be blank slates otherwise, because certain parts of the body are meant for well, childbirth, or well, the chest being to feed, y'know), and not to mention their own thoughts on animals and why they do certain things, likely leading to similar explanations would explain similar supernatural creatures. Certain animals if I recall that right can actually notice certain things, like signs of danger faster then humans. There's that one I think bird that would go down to the mines with people, and I think if it died then it would tell people there was poison early, giving them enough warning to leave. Or like.. animals, like maybe dogs, I can't remember the story but it was something about them noticing like early signs of an earthquake or something and saving their owner.

Or good old coincidences that could make people think of animals as otherworldly, or something.

It just gave order to it, organizing it in a way that made sense, and like a logical thing.

On that line of thinking, I think I understand why people think of gods and all that stuff. There's a game called Detroit: Become Human, where you play as three androids who have the potential to become a deviant, or basically go against their programming. Having feelings, and wanting to be free (there's a lot of dark themes, but it's a game that is defined by your choices. Endings differ vastly.) Getting back on topic, there's this, well, 'god' they worshipped. Or some of the deviants, I mean. RA9. The story is that they were basically this android, their 'savior' that was gonna save them all or something.

Nobody knows who RA9 is, but still that idea flourished, and many deviants shared the same idea (it could be that they shared this idea with others). The first time we even see any mention of RA9 is for like some worshipping thing. As far as I'm aware, there's been no actual explanations as to how it happened.

The point is, it just ended up becoming this point of worship, something that gave them hope. That RA9 will come for them and save them (it's thought that Markus was RA9 because that's the role he can end up playing, but it's genuinely all by chance that he even stumbles on that chance to do such). And while it is just a game, it's a little fascinating, that this idea can spread and be shared, something to be believed even if there might not have actually been any proof of their existence.

I was honestly just watching a 5-year anniversary playthrough, and staring at the idea of RA9 with new eyes, or well new 'lenses', I'm understanding it a lot more (that game won't ever get old to me).

future me here. i genuinely dont remember what the question was, but for summer school the teacher gave you discussion assignments so youd be given a question to answer. i always wrote LONG answers with plenty of paragraphs.
