Ostara - Tumblr Posts
So Ostara for me was not too good. I thought and planned on communicating with my first deceased guinea pig Gus/Gus Gus. Basically through out my Ostara day. I was working on the over load of school work. And I noticed one of my teachers posted something about loss and grieving. I did not think much of it since.. There is a lot going on. And I went to check on my current guinea pigs. And I noticed Simon limping and not walking right.
All in all I am scared for him I am keeping him close and watching him. If you can fellow witchlings please send some encouragement. We both might need it we are going to take him to the vet soon. It most likely a bruise/soreness. Since I feel nothing broken. Either way if its anything more we need to put him down. Which might be the hardest thing I can do/think of right now... Thank you🙏🔮🙏

My seasonal altar for spring and Ostara!

Tell me your thoughts ab it in the comments!! :)

Ostara Honey Cake
This will be my first Ostara so I’ve been putting together my recipes for the event. The following recipe is a dairy and egg free cake with a hint of honey; a simple recipe I’ve modified. It can even be gluten free if you substitute a gluten free all purpose flour (I personally like Bob’s Mill) Perfect desert for the sabbat! It’s simple, not overly sweet, and I’ll be putting a light lemon glaze on top, but it would be wonderful plain. A perfect finish to bring in Spring/Summer.
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 cup granulated sugar 1 cup honey, warmed 2 teaspoons baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons white vinegar 1 ½ tablespoon vanilla extract 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons oil 2 cups water
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease 2 – 9 inch round cake pans then dust with flour. Warm honey in 10 second intervals in microwave until it moves around bowl like a liquid (DO NOT let it boil) Add the flour, sugar, honey, baking soda, and salt to a large bowl. Add the water, oil, vinegar, and vanilla. Mix with a whisk until well-blended. Do not over beat. It will still turn out even if there are a few small lumps. Divide the batter between the 2 greased cake pans. Bake on a middle rack of oven for 35 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Let cool before frosting, dust with powdered sugar, or dive in while warm with a fork. Mmm, tasty!🐰🐥🐏🍰

I'm too excited for this lol

Blessed Ostara! Even though I’m a bit sick and my sense of smell has vanished for five days, I needed to bake SOMETHING for the spring equinox!
This is an Italian Ostara braided bread. It was suppose to have regular sized dyed eggs in the center, but I didn’t have time to find a Easter egg kit so chocolate eggies seemed like the way to go! Looks like a cute, little nest. Baking has given me some peace and order during this chaotic time.
How are you spending Ostara? 🌿🌸🥚
cute witchcraft idea: use plastic easter eggs as containers for tiny spell bottles. match the color to your desired intent, and fill it with corresponding herbs, stones, and small items. seal it with decorative tape for added aesthetic appeal and to keep the items safe within. gift them to friends as ostara/easter charms for happiness, personal growth, friendship, etc.
@esoteric-chaos thank you for such great information.

How you celebrate the holiday does not matter. You can choose to do any activity that feels right. These are only suggestions and remember that you're enough no matter what.
Also please note some stuff is UPG. A great book is Year of the Witch by Temperance Alden for honouring the celebrations and if you wanted to work more seasonally. It's not Wiccan-based and has plenty of resources for every witch.
Feel free to post how you celebrate in the comments or reblogs!

Tips for Decorating your Altar for Ostara

The spring equinox is approaching, so here’s some tips on how to get your altar and house ready for the Sabbat!
🌸Decorate with pastel colors like lavender, baby blue, and light yellow
🌸Use a woven basket or nest to place offerings
🌸Decorate with statues of fertility Goddesses
🌸Amethyst, quartz, moonstone, citrine, and aquaramarine crystals

**Reminder that "smudging" is part of a closed practice. Please call it smoke cleansing.

Celebrating the spring equinox in quarantine
If you can, make a meal with seasonal ingredients. Otherwise just cook whatever feels right; whatever reminds you of spring. Use your own correspondences, be it colors, spices, tastes, smells…
You can still observe and feel the environment even from the comforts of your own home! Spend some time on the balcony or garden, or just keep your windows open. Let the air cleanse your house. You can also take advantage if you have to go out to buy supplies or walk your dog.
One of the most significant activities for this season is spring cleaning! Clean your house thoroughly and organize your wardrobe. Maybe even reorganize and/or redecorate your stuff!
Do some crafting or any artsy activity you enjoy. You can make a DIY bird feeder, do knitting or stitching, paint a new art piece, etc.
Do some gardening! Whether you have a garden or just some house plants, you can do some maintenance or plant new seeds.
Learn a new skill! Spring symbolizes new beginnings, so if there’s something you’ve been wanting to start for a while, now’s the best time!
This is all on the top of my head. Please feel free to reblog and add more!
🌸🐝Blessed Ostara! Demeter and Persephone want you to stay safe and healthy this season and they understand if you can’t celebrate the return of spring to your fullest potential 🌸🐝
