PICK A CARDSpiritual Cleansing During Litha Season

PICK A CARD Spiritual Cleansing During Litha Season

Disclaimer: Only take what resonates and leave the rest behind. I am only posting this reading on profiles I’ve listed on my Linktree (linktr.ee/carinasibila) – all other profiles that might post it are fake. Decks used in this reading: Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot Blue Bird Lenormand* Enchanted Spell Oracle** PILE 1 The Hanged Man, Tree*, Luck** Back of the deck: Judgement Your spirit is (unconsciously) burdened by a harsh – perhaps too harsh and thus unfair – judgement you have made about a person/group of persons. To let go of this burden, you should not plan your cleansing, but spend this Litha season doing something that grounds you – possibly in nature, or creating something meaningful with your own hands. Things will fall into place! PILE 2 Temperance, Key*, Wishes** Back of the deck: Knight of Swords Your spiritual balance has been unsettled by (a) change(s) in your life: you acted too single-mindedly or even violated your own moral code in the course/as a result of the change(s). To restore harmony, this Litha season you need to open-mindedly meditate on what your actions mean for yourself and others and accept it – but do not focus on the negative, as you have gained something as well. PILE 3 II of Cups, Anchor*, Faith** Back of the deck: III of Swords Your spirit is marred by a deep emotional wound that still hasn’t healed: you have suffered the loss of someone close to you, perhaps the end of a friendship or the break-up of a romantic relationship. Your clinging to the memories of that relationship is weighing you down – this Litha season, you need to let go and focus on the possibility that better days might yet be ahead of you.

🌿🍊Litha Orange Honey Cake🍊🌿

Litha Orange Honey Cake

Hello my greenies! Happy Litha! I hope you’re all enjoying the summer sun and nature. Even during quarantine, if you’re able to take a walk in nature without contact with others, I highly recommend doing so. If you’re unable to go outside, I recommend taking the time to bake and maybe listen to some nature sounds on youtube. Those have helped me during these times. I wish you all the best with this yummy cake! I hope you all like this recipe:)

Ingredients

2 cups all purpose flour

½ cup softened unsalted butter

2 eggs

1 ½ tsp. baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

¼ cup granulated sugar

½ cup milk

½ tsp salt

¼ cup brown sugar

2 tbsp fresh orange juice

2/3 cup honey

1 tbsp vanilla extract

around a tbsp of orange zest

Optional Glaze

½ cup honey

¼ cup brown sugar

some lemon juice

juice of 4th of orange

couple pats of ground cinnamon

dash of vanilla

½ cup (maybe.. I never measure this out)sliced almonds

Mix until syrup state.

Directions

Preheat Oven for 350°F and coat pan with non-stick or other alternative. I honestly don’t know what size my pan is…so I’d say eyeball it and see how much you can fit? Lol

In medium bowl, mix dry ingredients (including the orange zest). Set that to the side while you mix the other ingredients in a larger bowl.

Sift the dry ingredients into the bowl with the other ingredients in batches. So, sift a little in and mix then repeat that until all the dry ingredients are mixed in.

Pour the mixture into the pan and cook for about 28 to 35 minutes. Check with a long toothpick:3 After you take out you can pour over an optional syrup that I think is amazing!

There’s no particular chant I do for this recipe, I mostly just pray for the sun and for the health of those I care for. I like to visualize the sun and its heat and color wrapping me in an embrace and that same warmth infusing the cake.

I hope you call have a lovely Litha and special time with those you love a care for.

- Kenzie

 A Midsummer Bath

 A Midsummer Bath

☀️ A Midsummer Bath ☀️

Inspired by this post, I decided to create a Midsummer bath last night after sunset! It was a great way to connect with the energy of the season. I know it’s a bit late to share the recipe, but I figure it’s good for anytime between now and Lughnasadh, and perfect whenever you need a boost of summery energy (though if it’s cold out you might want to skip the last step!). I used a fair number of ingredients, so modify this however you need to to suit your budget and available materials!

You’ll need:

☀️ 4-5 ginger tea bags (black tea bags and ginger slices work too!) ☀️ 1 cup of honey** ☀️ Red and yellow food coloring ☀️ a couple oranges and/or lemons, sliced ☀️ Lavender sprigs (please wash them first!) ☀️ Gold bath-safe glitter (not visible in the pictures, but it’s there!) ☀️ Beeswax candles ☀️ Tealights and/or yellow and orange candles ☀️ Midsummer-related crystals (I used citrine, fluorite, rutilated quartz, fuchsite/aventurine, green goldstone, and rock crystal (clear) quartz) ☀️ Sandalwood or lavender incense/candles ☀️ Spa water (if you stay in the bath as long as I do, you’ll want this. Trust me) ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ Midsummer Spa Water: add lemon slices, cucumber slices, celery sticks, and mint sprigs to a pitcher, then fill it to the top with ice water and stir it around. It’s ready to drink right away! You can also freeze it to make super refreshing ice cubes.

Start running your bath - make it a little hotter than you normally would (please be safe, though! Don’t burn yourself). Add the tea bags and honey. You might need to stir the water around with your hands a bit to mix the honey in, and you can check the temperature at the same time. If you choose not to use honey, a drop of orange or lavender essential oil makes a great substitute.

While the bath is filling, set up your candles, incense, and crystals around the edges of the tub. I prefer to keep the incense across the room so it doesn’t overpower the scents of the other ingredients. If you can’t burn incense or candles, try a lavender room spray. Add red and yellow food coloring to the water until you’ve achieved a summery, sunny orange!

When the bath is full, toss in the orange/lemon slices and the lavender sprigs. Sprinkle a bit of gold glitter across the surface, dim the lights, and get in! It’ll be like a lovely-smelling hot tub with much better atmosphere :) This is when that spa water will come in handy - don’t let yourselves get dehydrated, witches!

Once you’ve had enough of the heat, turn on some icy cold water. Try not to splash around too much (otherwise you’ll just end up with a gross room-temperature bath), instead letting the cold water sink to the bottom of the tub. The feeling of hot water on the surface with cold water underneath is super refreshing and perfectly suited to Midsummer - the sun is beginning its decline into winter now. Enjoy it for a bit, then get out before you get chilly!

Don’t forget to put out your candles. Have a fun and safe summer ☀️

**Vagina owners, please be careful with using honey in your bathwater! The sugar can cause yeast infections.

Id Like To Propose A Working For This Summer Solstice, The Point In Our Hemisphere Of The Greatest Light

Id like to propose a Working for this Summer Solstice, the point in our hemisphere of the greatest Light and the greatest Solar Energy, a mass Working directing our energies at our nation’s politics, practices, and policies in hopes of spreading Light and Wisdom…. enough to stop these senseless policies of child abuse, highway immigration stops, the senseless rising tide of racism and hatred towards People of Color (whether our own citizens or not), the general turn towards Fascist Collapse our nation has been falling down in the recent past. We stand dangerously close to becoming, as a nation, the very thing we’ve been taught to fight against and the very thing we historically have fought against.

If we can come together and put aside the petty divisions used to keep us separate, I believe we can fight this turn towards Fascism.

I dont propose a scripted Working; I know that the community I am connected to shares many different working Traditions, and in turn each of the people I am connected to is themselves connected to a rainbow of diversity in their world, and so on through each of our connections… each and every one of us has a different skill set and different things to bring to the communal Table, and each and every one of our remarkable and beautiful Traditions is an expression of the Melting Pot our nation is SUPPOSED TO BE. This is an opportunity to revel in our diversities while sharing Enlightenment and the Light of Wisdom; it shouldnt come from one script or imply there is only one way to be a real American.

Solitaries, Covens, Iles, Houses, Circles, Munansos, Churches, Fellowships, Kingdom Halls, Lodges, Clans, Kindreds… we can all come together in common purpose and need. The Solstice is this Thursday, the 21st. We could easily keep this going with those who may only have time to Work this weekend; we can easily put aside the barriers that stand between us and come together.

Will you join me?

Rather than scripting rites or dictating the things I feel people should pray for, I ask one thing; a common fixation point as a receptacle of our prayers and raised energies, a common symbol we all instantly know and who’s meaning is being degraded with every passing moment.

Lady Liberty’s Torch.

Share this post if you would; tag people, temples, and shops. Pass it around if you can, and together we can see how many Workers we can bring together across this country (and we’ll GLADLY accept help from around the world, too!) Come together with us to rekindle real Liberty in this country, as that proverbial Light is threatened with being extinguished. Bring our diverse lights together in our shared humanity, beautiful differences and all.

I would like to offer services at my altar for any who would like a candle lit for their prayers; I ask and encourage ALL of us with stores, temples, or public altars to open them as well to our communities and to those who wish to participate but who do not have the spaces to do so. Small donations to cover costs of candles and supplies are welcomed through paypal to hounganmatt@darklady.net if you’d like to join in the altars here, and I encourage other shopkeepers, lodges, temples, and churches to offer the same.

May we Shine.
