Rest in peace king,

we will all remember you.

Technoblade leaves the Dream SMP server in the middle of the night.

He doesn’t take anything with him. No armor, no weapons, nothing. He doesn’t even take his dogs or Steve. Only Carl, the stable emptied by the first signs of dawn.

Instead, he leaves notes.

One for Ranboo, one for Niki. One for Wilbur, one for Tommy.

He leaves one for Phil too, slightly different than the rest. There’s another line at the bottom, a set of coordinates.

(“To the gates of hell,” Phil had said.

“What about just anywhere but here?” Techno had answered.)

There’s another server. A smaller one, with more sunshine and mob-proofed fences. Where Techno does not ever have to pick up a weapon. Where Techno does not have to continue fighting.

Where there is no need for him to do anything but tend to his farms and sit outside to read, feed Carl carrots and nap as much as he wants. Where the distant crackle of a portal won’t mean anything except the welcomed visit of an old friend.

Where he can rest easy.

Because the war is over.

And dust settles on pain. And regrets become worn with age. And memories will bring strength more than they will sting.

(Perhaps, they will visit. Perhaps, Phil will come along one day and bring with him the people Techno loved and who loved Techno and who Techno hurt and who hurt Techno.

Perhaps they will find something worth holding onto in the ruins dug between them, that will grow flowers again.)

And on this new server, Technoblade is happy.

(And the universe said, you are not alone.)

And on this new server, Technoblade knows peace.

(And the universe said I love you because you are love.)

I'm thinking a lot about mythmaking and Technoblade, because that feels very appropriate, I feel like he would enjoy living on as a legend through all these little stories.

So yes, he visited Wilbur in a dream to call him a loser. Yes, he visited Sophie in a dream to call her cringe. Yes, he jumpscared Michael for criticising the "elbow reveal" joke. Yes, he painted the sky pink wherever that happened. Yes, he appeared as a pig shaped cloud in the sky. If you make a potato farm, he'll be there in spirit to criticise its efficiency. If you call for him during a match, he might send you his energy (if he likes you). If you get the spaceship option in Guess the Build, you'd better pick that or he'll come for you. All of these little moments are really him, because he is a larger than life figure. A true folk hero.

And yes, when you hear thunder, that might be Techno taking on the kingdom of God. (Call it proactive atheism.)

It's all ridiculous but that's as it should be to be honest. He was a ridiculous guy.

And I feel more comfortable with this kind of thing than I do with thinking too hard about Alex (I feel weird even calling him that) and the very personal tragedy of his passing. It's true that he and his family and friends shared some of that with us, but it's not really ours I think. But the legend of Technoblade is.

Alex may have passed away but Technoblade will always live in our memory

Techno, thank you for everything you have done. You have done so much for so many people and we thank you for that. May your legacy live on forever. Were going to miss you big guy, rest well <3

Literally sobbing in the shower rn since I was bored and decided to watch Technoblade's goodbye for my friends who are dsmp fans. Since I myself am not a dsmp fan this was my first time seeing it. But goddamnit it I was crying 2 minutes in.

I know this might not mean much from a person whose never watched any dsmp vids (except Fundy a long time ago) and still knows nothing about it, but I just wanted to say rest in peace, Alex.

I think I really started to believe "Technoblade never dies" so much that I can't process he's no longer with us.

It sounds like a joke some sick joke.

But I'm waiting for the punchline... he's gonna post it in a month, 2 months, 3, 4, fuck I'd give him a year and he'll post because he's not gone.

He can't be...the world wouldn't be moving if he was...right? He can't be gone. It's a joke. A sick joke, but a joke. It has to be. I'm just going to wait for the punchline, he'll post it soon...he has to. He's not gone. He can't be...

There's millions of people grieving over one guy, that's pretty legendary.

And he won't, he's become apart of us, of his community. He'll live on within us.

I feel like I desperately need to talk about the Minecraft Movie right now. Here are my points.

I was absolutely astonished to see the overworld at that first glance until the live action humans appeared which kinda sucked the hopes and dreams right out of me.

WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT SHEEP!?!? I mean, I see everyone hating on the CGI work but to be honest it's still much better than it was like 20 years ago. It's not as bad as ugly sonic at least but still.

One thing that deeply concerns me are the villagers. Are they gonna be blocky or live action? Can they speak English or just say 'Hrmm' for everything?? The only thing that can make the villagers likeable for me is if they were all voiced by the guy who voices them on Element Animation.

What did that guy craft and how????? All I saw was a scrambled mess of iron and cobblestone and it turned into two bucket attached with a chain!? THATS NOT HOW CRAFTING WORKS!!!

I honestly dig the piglins. They remind me of the bokoblins from Zelda which is cool.

"I... am Steve." *Holds a gun to Jack Black.* NO YOU AINT!!!! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY POOKIE BEAR!?!?!?!? Seriously, they could have cut his hair and beard shorter or SOMETHING to fix this.

If Technoblade isn't mentioned in this movie, I'm sueing Mojang.

All I want to see is an enderman and an axolotl. I love endermen so much.

…c!Techno has only one life, instead of the assumed 3.

He came from a “time where everyone only had one life” and it is confirmed that Technoblade does NOT know how old he is! In the part where Quackity was making small talk, he asked the pig how old he is, he didn’t know. This proves that he is AS old as Phil, his “old friend”

As we know, Will made it that Phil only has one life because of Phil’s hardcore series. (Which he called “playing with his trains” back when he lived in L’Manburg) Phil is canonically a couple centuries old at least and mentioned that if Tales of the Dream SMP was not in majorly American time, he would make his character a cameo. (Most likely in the past set ones as Phil informed us of his ghost skin-)

And another piece of evidence is his name. Not “Techno,” his Syndicate name; Protesilaus. A great warrior who was the first to die. “First to die” wouldn’t really matter if he had three lives. Technically Ranboo was the first to die- Sorry

And I further hope that my earlier theory about Ranboo killing Technoblade is false. It truly seems that way, as killing does not fit Ranboo’s character at all. (Real Ranboo maybe.) And Techno is obviously going to try to get Dream to revive Ranboo, which is confirmed in multiple streams after the death stream.

I'm kinda glad I discovered DSMP this year (yeah, discover, I lived on the wrong side of internet before that why).

Obviously in a perfect world I would have stumbled into it in 2020 or 2021 so I could have enjoyed the big hype, it will always be a missed opportunity. But thinking about it, I'm lucky. I would have arrived in 2023 the fandom would have been a kind of no man land. Yet for some reasons I'm here now, in 2024, when the fandom for some reasons started to move and live again a little, most of the big dramas have cool down and shits got closure and everything...

So yeah, I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm happy to be in this rabbit hole here and now, and I'm happy I'm not alone in it. Good vibes and shits.

This is 2020 Technoblade at Technodad's wedding...I might cry again-

I'm here to say that my heart goes out to Technoblade and his friends and family. I've never watched him before, but I can tell that he has made a huge impact on Minecraft YouTubers in the making and to current YouTubers in that criteria. To lose someone to a very serious disease like cancer in a very painful thing to go through and I only wish for you all is to find the strength and take it day by day. I wish for the best for Technoblade in the afterlife and once again, best wishes for his friends, family, and fans.

the thing about c!techno is he's infinitely willing to change, to listen to people.

his whole arc is about change, about hearing others out.

trying to get everyone to listen to him during the pogtopia vs. manberg war, resorting to violence when that failed. seeing that failure and doing a complete 180 into pacifism to the point where he begged the butcher army to leave, to just go. taking that injustice and repaying it a thousand-fold.

then telling c!niki that he wants to change, wants to be a better representation for his ideals. and c!techno's ideals are a core part of who he is but he's still willing to accept that his methods weren't the best, to accept that he should've done things differently and then worked towards doing just that.

there's a difference between not being willing to compromise your core ideals (though stepping back when it's not your decision to be made) and not changing at all. techno might not compromise on his ideals but he does listen, he does admit when his methods weren't great, and he does change.

his whole story is about how change doesn't have to be a grand thing, how admitting your tactics were wrong doesn't have to come with defeat, how change isn't linear. and i love that.

Technoblade.

As someone who has just recently entered the Dream SMP community, the news that Technoblade has passed away has left me in shock. I had known that Technoblade has battled with cancer in the past, but honestly did not comprehend that it was still a battle he was still fighting today.

In the short time I have been in the community, it has been more than obvious how much of an impact Technoblade has made on the players in the server and in the legacy of Minecraft as a whole. More importantly, his presence has brought a joy and comfort to millions of people, with his humor and kind nature, contrary to the ruthless character he often portrayed. This is an incredible loss and I hope he understood how much we loved and appreciated him as a creator, and as an individual.

I pray he has finds peace now in the world beyond, and my thoughts go out to his family.

Though he is gone, he will never be forgotten.

Long live Technoblade.
