I drew Ray because I've been obsessed with mysme lately. Saeran/Ray is my favourite :)
Saerans AE inspired me to draw this. I had to cope somehow with the many bad endings. xD I drew him with the blonde MC because I used her Pfp.
I tried to go out of my comfort zone and draw a background for once.

My semester ended and so I’m back! I’ll be posting a mystic messenger fanfic in a few hours!

Summary: We all know that unrequited love can be quite painful, but what happens when you can’t even reach out to the person that you adore?
Author note: I originally wanted to make this story a oneshot, but the ideas in my head have been overflowing as soon as I finished the prologue. More love for Saeran!

Prologue
Of course, it wasn’t as easy as I originally thought.
Saeyoung stroked the dark brown locks behind MC’s hair and stared into her eyes with such sincerity, with such longing like he would lose her if she slipped away from his arms at any moment.
To be living in a house with you, In a house with my brother… at the same time.
Her cheeks resembled the same pigment of a petal of rose, a coy laughter escaping out of her lips as she wrapped her arms loosely around the elder twin’s neck.
Such intimate moments I would see for myself.
The playful atmosphere died down, a surge of passion suddenly intruding the same room that they were currently standing in.
I wanted to run away from it all, but brother simply wouldn’t allow it.
Her soft hands reached up to curl her fingertips around the patterned temple tips and slid them off, gently placing them on the kitchen countertop.
I thought I had made improvement.
Saeyoung leaned his forehead of hers, closing his eyes for a moment before releasing a sigh a pure contentment.
That it wouldn’t be difficult to see him with his significant other.
She took the first step and closed the distance between them with her soft, inviting lips.
To see him happy with what he has now.
Saeyoung returned the kiss with eagerness, taking an extra step forward to wrap his hands around his beloved’s thighs and hike her up onto the countertop with ease.
To see that he has others to care for.
Her breaking the contact of her lips to release a throaty chuckle onto to have them captured again by her feverish lover.
To see that he has you to care for.
The bedroom door across from the hallway slammed shut, startling the couple from their intimate moment.
And I just wanted to say,
“Saeran! Is that you?” Saeyoung’s voice croaked out, releasing her with a frantic motion; giving apologetic eyes in return to follow his twin towards his bedroom.

“Sorry, I just thirsty. I didn’t think you two would be busy.” Saeran lied smoothly, putting on his jacket without taking another glance at his brother.
I’m sorry.
“Where do you think, you’re going? We’re about to have dinner.”
“Yeah, it seemed like you were about to eat something, not me.” Saeran retorted sharply.
Saeyoung’s face flushed with embarrassment, you could even say that the color of his cheeks resembled his hair. He was speechless.
“W-why are you getting so worked up about this? It’s what couples do.”
“I’m not getting worked up, I just don’t appreciate you doing this in the place where we cook our food.” Saeran’s face remained stoic.
It was simple, he was a master at this. It was easy for him to control his emotions, it was easy for him ease his temper. He shouldn’t have gotten angry at anyone, especially his twin. After all, they’ve gotten through together as a family, he should be relieved. But, why did it seem like his heart was hammering in his chest? Why was it that he couldn’t help to replay the event that happened in the kitchen just a few minutes ago?
“Saeran.”
“I’m not upset, I promise.”
The redhead turn around to face his elder brother with an attempt at what he called a smile and nudged his shoulder with his.
“I’ll be right back, okay?”
Saeyoung sighed deeply, unsatisfied with how this conversation turned out but nonetheless nodded.
“Stay safe, Saeran.”
Saeran already knew the subtext hidden under those words.
“Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do, I love you.”
“I will.”
Saeran clenched his fists, trudging out of his room towards the front door with a heavy conscience and clouded mind.
I’m sorry that,
She stood there in front on the door like she was some sort of trial that he had to pass in order to move on in a video game. Her beautiful eyebrows furrowed into a conflicted expression with her rosy lips pursed into a frown.
T-that I...
“What are you doing?” Saeran’s deadpanned.
He had to keep his emotions in check. He just had to.
“Where are you going?” Her velvet voice suddenly turned stern.
“I didn’t know I needed your permission to go out.”
She reached out to touch his shoulder, but he pushed it away declining her attempt at what seemed to be comfort.
“Do not touch me.”
“Saeran…”
“I’m going to be right back so please just step away from the door.”
Please…
Please don’t be pretend that you care for me.

So, she did what he pleaded her to do and stepped away from the door. Alas, he was free or so he had thought.

Jumin
- She was not shy, but maybe lazy socially. Not willing to seek out situations and connections that were not already part of her routine.
- Now that I think about it, I have also never bothered to check whether this mic is actually attached to any sort of recording or broadcasting device. And it is possible that I am alone in an empty universe, speaking to no one, unaware that the world is held aloft merely by my delusions and my smooth sonorous voice.

- It was a simpler time. Because I personally had less memories and so less to superimpose upon the world, and so it was much clearer, and also I was younger. Thus, the world was simpler.

- To be remembered is, I think, a basic human right. Not one that occurs to a person when it is there, but like a parched throat in a desert when it is gone.

Zen
- People are beautiful when they do beautiful things.
- Comfort was the answer to all life's problems. It didn't solve them, but it made them more distant for a bit as they quietly worsened.

MC who owns an ice cream shop that searan regularly visits gives him extra ice cream wheneve he comes in and after their first date names his regular order “ray of sunshine” (heh get it ray but also) because she likes the way he blushes when he orders it even though he’ll never admit he thinks it’s sweet
random HC but there’s like spoilers for ray’s routs on MYSME so I’m putting it under a cut that way you can avoid it if you haven’t played that yet
its short and a little sad but guys I gotta get this outta my head
i think it would bother saeran a lot if he heard MC singing mary had a little lamb to kids (be it theirs or other peoples)
because rika used to refer to him as a little lamb. specifically she used this term when she was belittling him or planning a “cleansing” ceremony.
it’s a small thing but lambs and sheep are known for getting lost, for hurting themselves when they are on there own, for being incapable of living without their shepherd. at one point she even mentions MC being a lamb for slaughter. can you imagine something being used to threaten and belittle you for years only to turn around and hear that same term sung to children as a lullaby
Imagine MC singing
“mary had a little lamb, little lamb little lamb” and saeran remembering every time Rika had forced the elixer upon him saying “you are lost my little lamb”
or
“and every where that mary went the lamb was sure to go” and he remembers every bad decision he made to hurt MC while following Rika every missed meal, every harsh word every broken promise or new bruise.
basically i just have a lot of feelings regarding Saeran and his story and also I’m getting really sleep deprived because like family time during the day writing time at night and MYSME every 2 freaking hours guys after this route I’m taking a day off to sleep.
... and then I’m playing V’s route because i hate myself
The RFA +Saeran react to MC’s past self-harm scars
so this one is, sensitive. there are some trigger warning’s simply because of the reference to self harm.
In this head cannon MC used to self harm and has come incredibly far in her recover to the point where all that is left are the old scars that may never fade entirely so there is no active self harm or blood.

I’m having a rough day and needed something to remind me that even on my worst days I am still healing, still marching forward towards a future far from where i was before.
some note: these come from my own experiences and thoughts on self harm and recovery from it. as always everyone’s experiences are different and everyone is in a different place in their recovery. spread kindness, understanding, love, support, and respect. it’s what the RFA would want.

- Offers to find a way to help them fade if you want
- If you say no he will trace them absently with his fingers while you cuddle

- He wants you to know your value so you never consider go back to that
- Believes they show just how much you have grown, how far you’ve come. The mark where you were and as the fade and heal no matter how slowly it shows how far removed from that place you are now
Jaehee
- She hates that you were hurting that much
- She looks so sad as her fingers ghost over the scars
- Thanks you for trusting her enough to tell her
- Is a little stiff and fidgety trying to figure out how to tell you
- She wants her words to be perfect because she loves you and this is serious
- Ends up saying nothing at all and simply gives your lips a gentle kiss

- You smile and hold her because you do
- The whole exchange is quiet and simple
- She sees the scars as your history, they show where you come from but don’t define where you go from here. They don’t control you. you are more than your scars.
Saeran
- He understands
- It makes him feel less alone he’ll admit
- Still he worries about them
- When you aren’t looking he stares, secretly making sure new ones don’t ever appear
- He is in awe of the strength you have to recover from such pain
- He knows firsthand how hard it is to walk that path
- He doesn’t want to find your scars beautiful
- He worries you will think he is glad you were hurt
- But he does think their beautiful, they show the depth of you. that you have been to the abyss and come out the other side not unscathed but unchanged, whole, and alive
- To him your scars show him there is hope for healing

- he had a studio built in the pent house so you could work from home and partly because of how often you sit straight up in bed with a new idea of how to get the perfect sound for a specific moment
- he enjoys watching you work because he finds all your methods really interesting he especially likes how creative you are when making the more outlandish sounds
- adores when you bring home weird instruments like the water phone and the nightmare machine but his favorite so far is the theremin he just thinks you look very elegant playing it
- you’ve enlisted his help only once and you had a blast watching him stiffly walk in place to help you create the foot step sounds
- several times you use Elizabeth the 3rd’s purring and meows in your work editing it to create quite a few different types of sounds
- Jumin may or may not use this to mess with zen saying Elizabeth the 3rd is an actress “zen perhaps Elizabeth could give you some pointers she is a wonderful actress after all. her voice did just appear in its fourth movie
yoosung
- your a what? that’s a job? he thought they just ya know used the sound they got when they filmed the movie and added music
- you take him to work one day and he’s awestruck at all the editing equipment there are so many buttons
- you tell him to press the big blue one and giggle when it plays a recording of you saying “I love you yoosung” he turns bright red and cant hide the embarrassed smile on his face its too cute
- until you show him the studio and he’s so confused by all the weird stuff you have in there. is that a car door and a bowl of corn? why do you need a fridge with lettuce and crab legs? WHAT DO YOU DO?
- after you show him all the strange ways they make sound effects he asks you about the sound effects in his favorite movies and games wondering if you could recreate them
- he does NOT appreciate when he comes hone one day to you playing a water phone and making some of the most disconcerting sounds he’s ever heard in real life
saeyoung
- when he did the background check he saw all the movies you’d done sound effects for and flipped out he thinks its so cool
anytime you too watch a movie you worked on he pauses at your name in the credits and takes pictures to send in the chat and brag “guys look at this! that’s my girlfriend! that name right there is the woman that chose to date ME!” jaehee: ”well i suppose anyone can have a laps in judgment”
- he’s more into the editing software and computer part of the sound design and editing than the literal making of the sound but he absolutely cant take certain scenes seriously after knowing how the sounds were made
- you help him make prank voicemail messages to send the RFA with realistic sound effects and everything
- his favorite moments are when your trying to figure out how to create a new sound and he can just run around messing with stuff in your studio until you say “stop that’s it that’s what i need”
- “you need light up sneakers stepping on corn on the cob?” “yes”
zen
- his dream job is movies and you work on them! he doesn’t know much about sound design at first but he’s sure it’s amazing!
- then he see’s it and okay so maybe it’s not as glamorous as he thought but it’s still cool to see behind the scenes like that.
- you offer to help his plays with their sound effects too and he is so grateful because you somehow manage to elevate the performance even more!
- you show him your editing equipment and he is so confused. he can work out the play button and the pause button but the rest is beyond him. you try to explain but after about 30 minutes of making no progress he just hugs you and says “jagi you must be a genius this is all so complicated”
- you help him edit his youtube videos and when you notice he only has singing and acting video you introduce him to ASMR role play videos its the perfect combo of his acting and your sound design!
- his fans love the asmr videos and it boosts his popularity through the roof
jaehee
- is super curious about how you manage to create such realistic sounds for things that aren’t real like alien sounds and fairy flying
- will systematically watch every movie you’ve done the sound for and focus solely on sound design
- does a ton of research so she can talk in depth with you about your job
- brings you coffee on your late nights and watches you work while you scramble to meet deadlines
- sometimes you make her soundscapes to help her relax and she adores it.
- she really enjoys hearing what you think about zen’s movies because you always have something to say about the sound design how creative it was or how it could have been improved
This Saeran fic I’m making rn might just be the longest thing I’ve ever written on this app
