Bad Batch Crosshair - Modern AU (Family is Annoying in any Universe)
A short look into the reception for Crosshair and Lyni's marriage.

Crosshair felt joy in his chest waking up next to Lyni. So much so that he dreaded his next deployment because it meant he had to take a break from being next to her. But Riyo promised that by his next leave the adoption papers for the twins Brutal and Shadow would be though then he could take all three to get military IDs.
And after the adoption goes through we'll take a vacation just the four of us, he promised himself. It was a promise that was keeping him from murdering many of his family members at this reception. They were testing his patience with the entirety of the Fett clan turning out to meet who one of their party boys was settling down with.
Looking around he could see his brothers talking to their cousins Cody and Rex, with a few of their brothers standing close by. Wolffe with his eye patch was giving stern stares at anyone who was headed his way so most steered clear of him. Shadow and Brutal were playing with some of the younger members of the clan, and Lyni was keeping a watchful eye on them.
Soon Jango started walking over, and Crosshair could feel the anger build up in him at the sight of the man. Most of his brothers had a strained relationship with their father, who was rightly called a dead beat. Jango had done little to raise them, preferring to leave them with the women that he slept with only to turn up later with gifts to try and mend the rift. One of the reasons Crosshair had slept around so much was because he was tired of fighting the expectation with Jango Fett as his father.
Lyni's slender hand slipped into his and Cross felt his anger melt away with her touch. Turning he smiled at his Riddur, his wife, and tried to ignore the man coming towards them. Jango had not gotten the hint, "Crosshair, why didn't you tell me you had such a lovely Cyre?"
Because my sweetheart is none of your business he wanted to say but didn't. Instead stating, "You have never been interested before."
Lyni squeezed his hand with her left as she extended her right, "It is nice to meet you Mr Fett, I'm Lyni."
Smiling the flirtatious smile he turned on all of his children's partners Jango answered taking her hand to shake, "What a lovely name for a lovely lady."
Raising an eyebrow, "A compliment that will never be returned to you sir." Crosshair snorted at the look on his fathers face but Lyni gave her practiced smile, "Now if you excuse us I have other members of the family to meet." Giving him a short nod she and Crosshair walked away and continued meeting members of the family.
There was Alpha and his generation, Colt and the rest of the uncles, Cody and the rest of the older cousins and then Tup and the rest of the younger cousins. Not to mention the spouses and partners of many of the older ones. Colt wife Shaak Ti stepped forward and took Lynis hands into hers, "Do not worry young one." With one of the tougura woman's gentle smiles, "Everyone will fall in place given time." Lyni just nodded and followed Cross some more.
Finally they had mad the rounds and settled at a picnic table for some lunch. Lyni relaxed a bit when Shadow and Brutal joined them with Wrecker following. He had also been playing with the kids but stopped when the twins wanted to rest. At this table for a moment they were just the Bad Batch and the Dathmarian trio. Lyni leaned her head on Crosshair's shoulder and sighed, "Is it always like this?" Her hand motioned to the chaos of the family unfolding around them.
Crosshair wrapped an arm around her shoulders while Hunter patted her shoulder comfortingly, "Only on a full get together. Otherwise there are less people." Lyni nodded once but sat up with with her practiced smile on her face when others joined the table.

I'm sorry if it did not have as much interactions with the clones as wanted and/or expected. I am just trying to stay writing on a regular basis and this is what came out.

OKAY time for a petty star wars rant:
(”aren’t all star wars rants petty?” Very funny, shut up.)
This really has no effect on the universe at all, or involvement in the machinations of reality itself, but I fucking hate live-action Ahsoka’s short-ass Lekkus.
In general, I feel like Ahsoka has been victim of some rare “glow-down” disease which afflicts her with increasing severity in each new iteration.
Just look at the GODESS we were robbed of during Rebels:
(I have problems with the rebels animation style in general-but that’s a rant for another time. ) We can debate to Tuesday and back about the validity of Vision!Ahsoka’s design- and whether or not she is purely a construct of Ahsoka’s imagination. Regardless of that fact, there are a few general inconsistencies in Rebels!Ahsoka’s design: Her bone-structure is narrower across the board, and the patterns on her Lekkus are completely different. The Lekkus are also missing the notch which can be seen on both Vision!Ahsoka and other adult Torgarutas, such as Shaak-ti. Speaking of Shrodinger’s Jedi, Let’s talk Live!Ahsoka.
The original concept art seems a lot closer to Vision!Ahsoka- long Lekkus and all... so what happened? It’s not like they’ve never done these things before:
According to concept designer Brian Matyas, The head-dress was with made movements and stunts in mind. Sure. Makes sense. HOWEVER. There are ways they could have done this without turning Ahsoka into Benjamin Button.
1- Attach the lekkus to the costume. I’d imagine this would be a realistic practice in-universe to assure they don’t get in the way. These longer pieces could be cut into increments and threaded throughout the costume, to give the impression that they were fastened into place, possibly along the opening of Ahsoka’s robe
Even rebels had a similar idea!!!!
2- just CGI the damn things. You’re telling me that you guys will de-age Mark Hammil’s face for EPISODES AT A TIME but you can’t be bothered to animate some Long Bois?? (I’d imagine some light weight mapping material could be, once again, attached to the costume.) Sounds like BS to me.
SO IN SUMMARY
Ahsoka is cool
Her Live action design is not.
Character inconsistencies really bother me.

Finally finished Shaak ti
Shaak Ti, you were too good for this world.
Some Jedi (and a few clones) and how often I think they would say "I love you" or something similar.
Anakin: Says I hate you more than I love you but everyone knows it means I love you. Knows how much it means to Obi-wan so he comms him every night to say good night and I love you. It's been a thing since he was a padawan. He does the same thing with Padme.
Obi-wan: As often as he can. He made the mistake of not telling Qui-gon that he cared about him enough and won't make that decision again. Some people worry that he overuses love/caring words but he genuinely means it every time.
Ahsoka: Pretty often. She loves to make sure people know that they are loved and know it's important they know.
Rex: Not very often. In very certain situations or if someone says it first. He thinks it a lot tho.
Cody: Very similar to Rex. Every now and again it will hit him how much he loves the people around him.
Fives: Extremely often to certain people (Echo, Anakin, Ahsoka, and Rex). Not much of a words of affirmation guy so he mostly shows it through physical touch.
Echo (before he gets blown up): Mostly when people say it to him first. He gets the same feeling as Cody, they all do really.
Plo: Very often. Kinda like Obi-wan but it's not trauma based and not quite as often.
Kit: Often. The thing as Obi-wan. After his padawan died he started saying it more and more.
Yoda: Says it the most out of the council. Maybe slightly trauma based as he's probably known a lot of people who have murked themselves.
Shaak Ti: Not directly "I love you" but more like "I care about you." Said very often to the clones.
Mace: Not often. When he does it's important.

Hypothetically, do you reckon that for the younglings that grew up in the Jedi Temple would do like ‘your mum’ jokes except instead it would be ‘your master’?
Like I can fully imagine a random youngling going up to their friend and telling a Your Master joke, and running away giggling menacingly
IMAGINE A YOUNGLING SAYING THAT TO LIKE OBI-WAN YODA OR ANY OTHER COUNCIL MEMBER THOUGH
I feel like depending on which council member they’d tell it to, they’d either get a laugh or get banished from the order, there’s no inbetween

Why is this so ACCURATE?🤣 To be fair, though, they are aloud (even encouraged) to care, they just have to put the good of all first... but this is still hilarious.
The Jedi code: No attachment! No romantic partners! No family!
Anakin sneeking off to meet up with Padme after a night out with the 501st, whilst hiding adoption papers for Ashoka: What attachments? No attachments hear!
Obi Wan sat on Cody's lap whilst waiting for a message from Satine: Be mindful of the code padawan.
Aayla removing herself from Bly's face for 0.5 seconds: What did you say?
Kit Fisto waiting to call Aayla and Bly so they can meet up for date night: You must listen to master Yoda, attachments are dangerous.
Ploo koon and Shaak Ti surrounded by clone younglins as they fill out adoption forms for the entire army: Emotions are not the Jedi way.
Depa Billap tucking Caleb into bed: You must learn to let go of your feelings.
Quinlan Vos in the middle of checking in with Aayla and having given Bly the shovel talk: Listen to Obi Wan, he's usually right.
Mace Windu sitting worriedly at medical waiting for news on his injured men: As Jedi it is are duty to follow the code.
I realized I've never posted this piece I've been working on since December. It's still a WIP, but I like how its going and thought might as well post.
This piece is part of a collection I'm working on that I haven't posted anything about yet. It's going to be a jedi pin-up calender (hopefully). This Shaak-Ti started the whole thing, and i'm still working on it.
I've been continuously coming back to it over the past few months when I learn a new skill or new technique.
