Taxidermy - Tumblr Posts
Beach trip is complete, super fun tbh can’t wait to go back next year but for a full week <333
This made me think about how I want to learn how to do taxidermy so fucking badly. Where and how do you even learn taxidermy?

This is my favorite shop to go to!! I actually got a Locust wet specimen there not too long ago, super fun! I’m hoping to be able to get their hanging taxidermied bats once they put more up on stock~
Rest in Pieces
Is an awesome vulture culture/oddity/taxidermy shop in Richmond, Va I just found. It is amazing and I’m proud to say I purchased my first bones from them. A lovely, teeth intact, beaver jaw! (Which I’ll post separately later, I want to try and see if any spirit is still attached to it first.)
Here are some of their wonderful taxidermy pieces:
And I know he’s not the “best looking” but I’m in love with this coyote(?), his face is so expressive!
They have a random bone pile to pick through for discounted single pieces. I found an intact Beaver Jaw that still have it’s teeth:
They had cool skulls for sale:
Resin pieces and weird medical oddities like these artificial knee caps scavenged from crematoriums:
They also had a big variety of wet specimens from fully preserved still born animals and fetal animals to octopuses. I have more pictures but have reached the limit of picture’s per post and will finish posting the rest here in a minute.
Suffice it to say this shop is amazing and I love it and will be going back soon!
found the cutest family owned oddities store!! my partner and ii got so many decorations for our house, posting the pics soon!
Taxidermy is such a beautiful thing when done with love and care- just beautiful :,).
Does anyone in the Tumblr taxidermy community know if I could get arsenic poisoning from a taxidermy duck I recently acquired for restoration porpoises?
I found it in my high school's IT lab and the teachers agreed for me to take it but nobody knows exactly how old it is because it looks quite degraded and has apparently been here for at least 15-20 years, tho I would say it's about 40, maybe even 50 years old.
I'm new to taxidermy and I just started wondering about my safety in this project so if anyone has any tips and information, please tell me.
I've had it for almost 2 months already but I didn't interact too much with it, instead I kept it away from my general living space and I store it in a cabinet.

An 0ld Creepypasta 0C named “Taxidermy” (real name: May Augustus, but they hate that name.)
They’re n0t all that menacing, actually.
F0r the m0st part they just f0ll0w 0ther Creepypastas, killers, and m0nsters ar0und and scavenge their kills, stealing bl00d, skin, b0nes, 0rgans, and anything else that might c0me in handy and selling/trading it ar0und the 0ther CPs.
I saw these c00l qu0tes and drew this based 0ff them

The c0rpse’s head is way t00 small, but 0therwise n0t t00 bad.
I have this thing where I number my OCs and a bunch of concepts, then roll dice to figure out what to draw, I call it the dice challenge.
This is the product of the Dice Challenge.
