New Dragons/Dragonriders in Season 2 of House of the Dragon
All in all not my favorite episode, but I'm glad we got to see Vermithor again, and that Silverwing finally made an appearance. Doesn't matter how much they screw up the characters, the dragons are always done perfectly. Also, we finally got a Tessarion mention!
always remember this kids: Out of the two Green dragons that outlived their riders, one chose to die instead of fleeing and the other decided to go fight her deceased rider's enemies which included a dragon three times bigger than her
Dreamfyre and Tessarion were loyal to the very fucking end
Character sheet: Daeron Targaryen

he's stalwart, clever, as adept with his lute as he is with his sword. he's kind.
“Jon smiled, ‘You’re the one that deserves an honor,’ he told the wolf…”
“My lord is kind to say so, but the victory belongs to Tessarion”

Now that I have finished all the Fourteen Flames of the Valyrian Pantheon, I decided to do a family tree. Due to the incest, it’s a bit confusing lmao
A little summary:
Terrax (the known world, “Earth”): is the antithesis of Chaos and her creation was set up by Fate. She is the Mother of all Creation, the light that came out of the darkness, the organization of the world from the chaos of cosmos. She is soil and earth and creates Arrax as her companion and they have six children together.
Arrax (Urano): The known world’s sky. Essentially the atmosphere that separates Terrax and the world she built from cosmos (the reign of chaos). Arrax is the first son of Terrax, and becomes her companion, husband and the father of her six children. He betrays her by trying to destroy all her creation and is slain and banished by his children with her aid. In many legends, he fathered Meleys with his daughter, Syrax.
Meraxes (Jupiter): the youngest of Terrax and Arrax’s children. She leads the war against Arrax and later banishes Terrax. The Queen of all the Gods, she becomes the Goddess of the Sky, giving the seas to her brother Caraxes and the underworld to her brother Balerion. Her sister Syrax becomes the new Goddess of earthly life and Vermithor forges the volcanoes. She marries her sister Shrykos, Goddess of marriage and family. She has many kids. Vhagar and Tyraxes with Shrykos, her wife. Vermax, by herself. Perzys and Tessarion with Vermithor. And in some legends, Meleys with Syrax.
Shrykos (Light of creation): Queen consort of all Gods, married to her sister, Meraxes. Mother of Vhagar and Tyraxes.
Caraxes (Neptune): King of the Sea, married to Perzys, God of Fire.
Perzys (Sun): Caraxes’ queen, and twin to Tessarion, the Sun to her Moon.
Tessarion (Moon): Twin to Perzys. Created by Vermithor and Meraxes, the twins meant to became fire and light in the sky.
Vermithor (the chain of Fourteen Volcanoes): the creator for the Gods, made the moon and the sun with Meraxes, and the fourteen volcanoes in the peninsula to represent all Fourteen. He was the one who started the cataclysmic events of the Doom.
Balerion (Pluto): King of the Underworld, married to his niece Meleys, the Goddess of Love and fertility.
Meleys (Venus): Balerion’s queen, daughter of Syrax with either Meraxes or Arrax. Is coveted by Vhagar, who fell in love with her (one-sided).
Syrax (Vegetation): Took over her mother, Terrax, as Goddess of Vegetation and Earthly life, and has a daughter, Meleys, whose paternity varies between legends.
Vhagar (Mars): daughter of Shrykos and Meraxes, lusts after Meleys.
Tyraxes (Chaos//Cosmus//Fate): son of Shrykos and Meraxes.
Vermax (Mercury): son of Meraxes, turns himself into a dragon to travel between worlds.

The only way for Daeron to be introduced in Season 2 of HOTD (in my opinion)
Some guards outside the Red Keep are talking about how bad things are going in the war right now. Then the loud roar of a dragon is heard off-screen, they duck as something flies over them. They turn and see a cobalt-blue dragon who cranes their neck slowly revealing the rider as they climb down. The guards stare in shock. The dragon rider approaches them and sighs before saying “So my brother wears a crown now.” He smirks “Yet he still needs his little brothers to fix his messes.” Cue a Ramin Djawadi remix of “Guess Who’s Back” as the camera zooms in on the newly arrived Daeron Targaryen. Cuts to black. Credits play.
The Dragons of HOTD as Dog breeds for my fic “Last Christmas”
(And reasons why)

Syrax- Labrador Retriever
She's a yellow cutie who's friendly (to an extent)

Vermax- Dalmatian
He has Dalmatian energy there's no way to put it into words

Arrax- Australian Shepard
He's affectionate and good boy

Sunfyre- Golden Retriever
Do I need a reason? He's beautiful and golden

Dreamfyre- Great Pyrenees
Dreamfyre like a Great Pyrenees looks friendly and majestic but will destroy a coyote if need be

Vhagar- Tibetan Mastiff
Vhagar is huge and ancient like this breed plus those eyes look like they've seen war

Tessarion- Weimaraner
Weimaraners are graceful and classified as the color "blue" like the Blue Queen herself

Caraxes- Whippet
If you've ever met a Whippet this is 100% accurate, Caraxes is energetic and almost a wild card

Moondancer- Ibizian Hound
Beautiful, stunning, gorgeous enough said
My favorite dragons from HOTD/Fire &Blood + why I love them (in no particular order)
In Show:
Vhagar (the Queen of all dragons, enough said)
Arrax (he had such unique mannerisms, you could tell he was a baby)
Caraxes (he's so weird I love him, I ignore Daemon as his rider cause I love him too much)
Sunfyre (literally a beautiful boy, if you read Fire & Blood, you know he is dedicated)
Have yet to appear in the show but are in Fire & Blood:
Tessarion (the cobalt blue scales and she was that loyal to her rider)
The Cannibal (the most feared dragon on Dragonstone and so mysterious people debate if he is older than the Targaryen Conquest)
Grey Ghost (he hates people and only eats fish, he was amazing for being that introverted)
Stormcloud (he cared so much for his rider bro)
Morghul (how dare they give such a cool name and barely use them???? Morghul means "Death" in High Valyrian. The potential was there)
Dragon-Shifter Rhaenicent AU Lore
Original AU is this post for context
Despite the fact that they had come to Dragonstone two hundred years following the Doom of Valyria, the name Targaryen was not one known by the people of Westeros. House Targaryen was the only family of dragonlords to escape the Doom with the blood running through their veins giving them the ability to change from man to dragon. The people of Westeros had seen dragons flying above the sky on the island but no one dared to get close. Over time, that became the story, dragons lived on the isolated island. No men. Just dragons.
The humans in Westeros have thus given names to the dragons they have spotted over the years, unaware of the other form laying in wait underneath the scales.

Rhaenyra Targaryen is the eldest of her father, Viserys, the self-proclaimed king of Dragonstone. Her mother died in childbirth when she was quite young. Her father's hasty marriage only a few months later caused her to run away, during this period many humans reported sightings of her near Oldtown. The realm knows her as a somewhat small curious yellow dragon named Syrax.

Aegon Targaryen is the eldest son of Viserys, king of Dragonstone. He and his younger siblings are the product of Viserys' second marriage to a human woman. While rare, these unions would take place if no other female dragons were alive. Aegon has rarely flown to the seven kingdoms in years after his mother's death. The realm knows him only as a beautiful golden dragon named Sunfyre.

Helaena Targaryen is the second daughter of Viserys Targaryen of Dragonstone. While her mother was human, Helaena is the only Targaryen who has the gift of prophecy, a rare but valued trait in dragons, though there are times she keeps these prophecies to herself for unknown reasons. The realm knows her as a quiet pale blue dragon named Dreamfyre.

Aemond Targaryen is the second son of the king of Dragonstone, Viserys. During a flight, a then-young Aemond was attacked and shot in the eye with an arrow, the injury left him without an eye in his human form, as a dragon he kept his eye intact but is still blind in it. The people of the realm fear him as a massive disgruntled dragon named Vhagar.

Daeron Targaryen is the youngest child of King Viserys Targaryen. Unlike his siblings, he doesn't remember his human mother and this fuels his curiosity about humans. He and his half-sister Rhaenyra venture to the realm most often compared to the others in House Targaryen. Humans know him as the swift cobalt blue dragon, Tessarion.

Viserys Targaryen is the fifth king of the Targaryen dynasty in Dragonstone, while his ancestors came two centuries ago they had not cemented themselves into the world of man until Aegon the 1st. Viserys took the Lady Aemma to wed but following her death in childbirth, he swiftly stole away a lady from the reach to marry. The decision came at the cost of his relationship with his eldest child, Rhaenyra, and the death of his second wife after years of being miserable, cost him his relationship with his other children. He has not been named by the realm as he has not been spotted by humans.
