first original post ive ever made on tumblr but i just gotta say some of yall really generalize whenever "drama" happens on twitter. i made a twitter account myself to see how people are handling the sbi situation and its not that bad?? most of the top posts are only asking for apologies or for the ccs to address it. im also really tired as a woc to see EVERYTHING being called "cancel culture". people arent always seeking to end careers. nor will these careers be ended anyway. if these guys have really changed, then it shouldnt be hard to express remorse instead of silently deleting old tweets

let minorities be done with being the butt of the joke. let them be hurt. let them hold ccs to a certain standard.

its gonna be kinda cringe if techno doesnt address this whole incident. if he was hoping that he could silently let it blow over, hes kind of gonna get that. sending big love to jewish people, who have yet to recieve an apology

I don’t think I’ve ever made a post like this before but unfortunately someone has forced my hand to do so. I really wanted my next post to be a new fic but it looks like it’ll have to wait until I address this.

I don’t like having issues with people especially if the issues aren’t even on my own issues— even more so in a space that I created for fun.

As some of you guys may know, I recently made a public server called Boba Pop. Anyone is free to join as long as you’re 18+ and enjoy anime men’s penis an almost grotesque amount. But that’s neither here nor there!

There was an issue that arose today between two members in my server over a theme divider. User @/sluttsumu and user @/miguelism are the parties involved.

Unfortunately, Stella felt as though Kierra stole her theme. I completely understand how frustrating that feeling is because I’ve had it done to me in the past. It especially puts salt in the wound because I used to really put hours into editing videos, banners, and gifs for my layouts. So, I can emphasize how it could feel.

I should also preface that in my server’s rules, it states to keep any drama at bay. More specifically, stating keep any issues in private conversations, limited but not limited to speaking to said person or a mod!

My server has an “open door” policy meaning if anyone feels unsafe, or like they’re being bullied/attacked, or then threatened/harassed, not hesitate to come to a mod if you aren’t sure how to approach the situation or even if you’re not much of a confrontational person and need one of us to break the ice. Communication is highly encouraged for better relationships and a more open atmosphere for the server.

It becomes an issue when there’s a lack of communication, on top of taking an issue that could certainly be handled privately, to tumblr. A platform that isn’t the safest for things like discourse and silly little online drama because of how easily accessible anonymity is, and the thousands of eyes that could potentially see said private situation between two people.

Stella did that exact thing and unfortunately, someone was uncomfortable with the situation.

The situation goes as follows:

Kierra mentioned Stella, letting her know that her theme was beautiful. Then said she hoped she didn’t mind that she used the glitter header she was currently using.

Stella said that it was fine.

Stella said that she noticed Kierra “also” took inspiration from the heart gif header she was using.

Kierra let's Stella know that she’s been using that header for years. (Since 2021.)

Stella acknowledges this and Kierra says that pink themes are very popular.

That’s not the issue, the issue is when someone takes to tumblr to sub post about the situation instead of speaking to the person you have an issue with like an adult or even speaking to someone on the mod team. That then makes said person feel uncomfortable and like they’re feeling attacked in the space, making them turn to a mod for advice on how to navigate the situation.

If you were uncomfortable at any point within the situation, you could’ve either reached out to the person you have this issue with or a mod so there wouldn’t be any communication issues. No one can read your mind on how you’re feeling unless it is said directly to someone. You acknowledged Kierra and you moved on, realistically, how is that person supposed to know how you feel? The mods and myself really encourage open communication so there aren’t any misunderstandings.

Making private situations public without the person you have an issue with aware of said issue, is not the way to go about things no matter how you look at things.

Can you imagine speaking to someone you believe is a friend then going online to see them sub posting about you in a negative light, being incredibly passive aggressive? I would really believe that anyone would be at a loss.

All this is to say, I was spoken to by my mod team who analyzed the situation (I was working) after it was brought up to them. To which, I then spoke to Stella about it to be the middleman.

I’ll attach the screenshots of our conversation so nothing is lost in translation.

I don’t appreciate and I will not accept being called out of my name for doing my job as an admin. I was very polite, respectful and tried my best to navigate the situation.

Stella, there weren’t any “bad” vibes. You were genuinely such a pleasure to speak to and interact with. You’re extremely funny and I found so many of the members in the server laughing at the jokes you would crack. And even being some of the first to read the works you would post in the promotions channel. You were welcomed and celebrated, as everyone is in Boba Pop.

This isn’t about “big blogs” and whatnot either. You want to avoid discourse but again, you take to tumblr to make this situation even bigger than it needed to be instead of communicating like an adult.

You were not ganged up on either. You were only spoken to by myself (the admin) then Kierra (the person you actually have the issue with). You said that I “blamed” you but there was no blaming. I came to you as an administrator with an ongoing issue that dealt with you and another member because my mod team notified me of the situation.

Your behaviors online do have consequences, as all of ours do. This situation could have absolutely been avoided but instead you took to playing victim on tumblr and spreading a false narrative that favors yourself.

I really do wish you the best but you don’t get to bad mouth me online, indirectly or directly, and expect me not to address the situation.

if yall never listen to me for anything else, listen to me for this. if you're upset about a trope that you wanted to write but someone else wrote it for you and then you decide to make a vent post about it??? never answer the follow up questions that anons ask. it's a trap. because if those anons connect the dots (which they usually do), they're going to send hate anons to that person. and if that person decides to respond back publicly, then you're going to get hate anons too. do not victimize yourself and claim that this couldve been handled in dms (when u shouldve messaged them first tbh if you were really that upset) and wonder why you're always in discourse because you don't know the tumblr handbook.

shit like this has happened before and it usually plays out how i expect it if the accused party decides to respond. your page is yours, but remember it's a public page. you're complaining about the hate you received, but you didnt think twice before answering that anon because people easily knew who you were talking about.

two: about the mecca situation. mecca said some werid shit about minors and the mods and I kicked her. period. there should be no reason that anons are trying to put shit that isn't there. you don't need to white knight a situation that's said and done.

First of all. Yes I deleted the Publishing House. 2 nights ago was a reason why but it wasn't the entire reason. I firstly wanna apologize to those who had nothing to do with this. It wasn't far to you but I have been letting slick shit slide for a long time and it was just time for it to go.

REMINDER TO TAG YOUR DISCOURSE AND CHARACTER CRITICISM

It can be super upsetting for someone to be scrolling through a fandom tag only to find someone talking about how a particular character is a shitty person or any other type of fandom discourse about their comfort characters. I came a across a post like that a few minutes ago and it really upset me seeing such an important comfort ship to me be so ruthlessly criticized for stupid things.

This is also for people who are scrolling through Tumblr and don’t want to see posts upon posts of discourse they don’t care about.

Keep in mind somethings deserve to be called out and criticized, though! Also don’t be discouraged from making character analysis posts and posts to let people know what you are uncomfortable with! Treat yourself AND others with respect!

I’m tired of seeing drama about things I like and being expected to stop liking it because the creator fucked up.

Do I need to say more? The creator of Dragon Maid is fucking disgusting. His whole fucking gag in the anime about Kanna is how "Oh! Kobayashi finds this 6 year old attractive, she's such a p3do! lol lol lol lol!!!" Like STFU. Ilulu also deserves better, she looks like a 7 year old yet she is still sexualized to no end despite that. The romanticization and usage of lolicon in anime are downright gross and pedophilia. They are children. There is no reason to draw a character purposefully to look suggestive and then make them a minor. I feel like people ignore the fact that this doesn't even have to young ages either. It happens to a lot of characters. I honestly think that regardless of a show's rating, underage characters shouldn't have unrealistic body proportions in the two most oversexualized parts of the body. The same damn thing happens to male characters, too. They romanticize having abs and being buff but ignore that their minors. Then, they oversexualize the feminine characters and never really address the fact that their children or teens.

The fact that they copied @rinhaler 's work word for word and ONLY changing the names of the characters is disturbing and it destroys the credibility behind it. They knew what they were doing and played dumb by doing this.

So I wrote this fic for a collab back in early November and this person has decided to steal not only the entire thing, but my requests and drabbles too. I haven’t had a proper look but I am SHAKING with anger. The only thing they changed is the characters involved. I’m not sure if they’ve stolen anyone else’s work, but you know people like this are too lazy and in creative to write their own stuff so please make sure to see if anything of yours has been stolen.

I am FUMING I have no idea what to do in this situation.

This person clearly blocks tags that indicate mature content. Like they're trying their best, I don't think it's a good faith argument to say they're not using all the tools at their disposal when they a) already block tags like minors dni to keep from seeing stuff that's not meant for them / curate the content they get and b) are using a website that doesn't have a super good age restriction system for mature content

Like it or not, a lot of kids use tumblr. The site isn't 18+ by any stretch, and I think most of us are aware that the mature post lables are pretty iffy in catching mature content. Unfortunately, that kinda means you need to tag suggestive content to keep minors from seeing it.

Whoever sent the ask wasn't seeing out posts for adults and then complaining that they saw posts for adults, they were scrolling through a tag that's mostly used to talk about a character in a video game, saw something the filters they have in place would've blocked if it was tagged properly, and then sent a message asking for the content to be retagged so it would be blocked in the future.

If we want people to be able to curate their feed, we need to tag the stuff that they want to curate out. Like it's very much a two way street, and I don't think it's fair to rag on this minor for not being able "to just block the content they don't want to see" or not "being responsible" when they're clearly filtering for mature content to some extent.

If it's not tagged as mature, they can't avoid it for being mature, y'know?

I can't believe so many Good Omens fans and content creator are being guilt tripped into dropping the book and show as a whole in fear of being seen as a Neil Gaiman apologist, it is completely fine to separate art from the artist people have been doing it for YEARS ( see harry potter, miraculous ladybug etc. ) If it's a purely personal choice then I understand but if people are doing it out of fear of being judged then that's a problem. Also is everybody just gonna leave out the fact Terry Pratchett also wrote the book? It wasn't just Neil. We can still support the amazing person and writer that was Terry, the performances of Michael Sheen and David Tennant plus everybody else that was involved in the making of the show. Stop giving Neil ALL the credit.

Obviously a lot of people are just being straight up shitty and also- I think what a lot of people are struggling to verbalize is that whenever a powerful man who’s publicly supported oppressed people is reveled as a sexual predator, there is a loss of trust in your own perception. There’s a loss of trust in your ability to determine who is and isn’t safe.

And as much as he may have been problematic prior, by and large he expressed values that led people to think he was on the right side of things and an overall good guy. It’s disorienting when you find out you can’t trust something you thought you could, and that’s gonna take processing.

The c!Dream apologists really just zeroed in on that last line and ignored literally EVERYTHING else.

Ok so I’m not a huge fan of discourse but I have a point I have to make. While there are many t*rfs who id as lesbian, many absolutely do not even pretend to support gay and lesbian communities. One instance of such is when the Equality Act was being voted on in 2019. At least one representative from a “rad fem” group joined a republican congressman to opposs an act that helps protect rights for lesbians AS WELL.

I do not understand how one would rather throw away their own safety to make sure someone else is harmed instead of both groups getting safety??

Age Gaps In Fiction vs Real World Morality: Definitions

I see a lot of debate about the morality of shipping ‘age gaps’ or ‘younger characters’ romantically in fiction, and a lot of people using words in ways that show they don’t know what the words mean. 

It’s important to understand what words mean so that everyone is on the same page, you can disagree and debate anything, but if you don’t use a word to mean the same thing it’s hard to have the discussion.  Additionally, when discussing subjects like crimes against children, it’s important to use the correct language so as not to trivialize those crimes or distract from the condemnation of criminals 

Below is a list of definitions. I did my best to put everything in laymen’s terms based on my knowelege as a survivor of child abuse and CSA who cares deeply about preventing child abuse, and has researched the subject academically.

Okay I’ve heard what Sapnap and George had done with Michael (replacing him with a piglin named Nichael, holding the real Michael for ransom, threatening to kill him if the ransom isn’t paid) and I gotta say, I am pissed off 

During the stream, Sapnap is retelling the tale of what happened to Michael (which he mentioned to have gone on for months), including how Eret and Sam had found out, leading to Dream reading out a message from Eret to the DSMP discord; which talked about how this could potentially be story breaking, further elaborating that Sapnap and George never responded to this despite it being directed at everyone

As Dream reads out this message, Sapnap and George are laughing

The story Sapnap tells also revealed that Eret and Sam had to get a replacement Michael to use in Sam’s lore stream after the prison break, meaning this had directly interfered with planned lore, but is played off as a funny joke

Terrible roleplay etiquette, the both of them. This has gone past a funny joke given that they are threatening to kill the real Michael in a weeks time if their demands are not met (their ransom being two netherite sets, 10 god apples, 2 stacks of netherite tools, every enchantment book, a trident, etc)

This isn’t even about how Michael being harmed distresses a number of fans (though that also contributes), it’s the fact that their actions had negatively affected the lore of three people on the DSMP (Eret, Sam, and Ranboo) yet they continue to play it off as a funny joke.

They need to grow the fuck up
