i had shared what is happening in sudan on a long facebook post last night, but it virtually received almost little to no engagement or shares from the nearly 600 “friends” i have on the site.
this morning, my great-aunt was shot by the soldiers fighting for power, and God forbid, i lose more of my family members before eid this friday.

violence and war hurting the SWANA region are NOT ordinary occurrences — no one, regardless of race, creed, ethnicity, religion, and gender, should experience the unprecedented amount of violence that harms my two living grandmothers, aunts and uncles, and baby cousins who live in Khartoum.
your decision to ignore reading or educating and discussing with others about what is likely to be a civil war is complicity in viewing SWANA people as individuals who regularly experience conflict and are undeserving of help.
the silence is damaging, and it is up to us as privileged members of the diaspora (or individuals living in the Western world committed to human rights) to support the people of my country and their dream for a stable, democratically elected government.
what is happening in Sudan is a fight that started on April 15 between two competing forces for power — the Sudanese Army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) — neither groups are representative of the needs of our people. The Sudan Army is loyal to the dictator, Omar Al-Bashir, and the RSF is responsible for the genocide in Darfur.
with both power struggles backed by different Arab and Gulf nations, the two parties have been fighting for power for the last few years. While they worked together to try and end the people’s revolution, they lost. however, they are now in a constant power play of who will get to rule the nation.
this all means that war is NOT a reflection of my country — violence does not represent the SWANA people. Sudan is a nation of beautiful culture, strong women, intellectual and influential Islamic scholars, poets, and youth at the front lines of the revolution. we are a people committed to a region of peace for ourselves and the rest of the Ummah.
my family and the rest of Sudan’s innocent civilians are at the most risk, with many currently without drinking water, food to eat, electricity, and complete blockage to any mosques during the final nights of Ramadan, our holiest month of the year.
i ask that you please keep Sudan and our people in your prayers — donate to the Sudan Red Crescent or a mutual aid GoFund Me, email your representatives if you live in a country that can put pressure on either competing force of power, discuss this with your family and friends, and please do not forget to think about SWANA people — our brothers and sisters in Syria, Yemen, Lebanon, and many others need our love and support.

Favorite headcanon? Probably that Ludwig is a Romantic at heart. I'm unsure how art eras are taught in your region, but Romanticism is an art period between ~1798 and 1837. The person Ludwig got characterized after, Ludwig Van Beethoven, comes from that time period. And it naturally reflects in Ludwig Von Koopa, too. How exactly?
Emotion and passion
his art is a reflection of all of his feelings that are most often trapped. Sure, most of the emotions he displays are negative, but they're intense, grand, Romantic, overwhelming. He's not half as stoic as he makes himself out to be. That's what I remember about the Romanticism the most, and that's what seemingly defines Ludwig, his grand emotions. His huge sense of pride, his sardonism, his jealousy of Bowser Jr, every single feeling is grand and all over even if he's trying to repress it.
The critique of progress
he literally abandoned his inventive work of making machines in favor of focusing on art. And guess what, the Enlightenment period that preceeded Romanticism is most known for the industrial revolution. Almost as if he entered a whole new art period during puberty, going from Kooky to Ludwig, finding a new purpose that is much more emotionally fulfilling.
A return to the past
he fixates on history, old art, human civilizations for a reason. He's seemingly fascinated by the old, by what made the Dark Land what it is today, eager not to repeat his ancestors' mistakes.
An awe of nature
a lot of his work, both musical and even mechanical circles around the nature. He actively doesn't like whenever Bowser attempts to do something against the nature, and he treats it as something pure, without any political chaos or wars. Animals just want to survive, they never have ill intent.
The purity of childhood
why is Ludwig so protective of the Koopalings? Why he's acting all like a helicopter parent whenever they do have to go on the missions? This is the reason. Not having much of a childhood himself, he wants to make sure the other Koopalings (and reluctantly, Bowser Jr)'s childhoods remain as innocent as possible. He believes each kid deserves a loving and safe environment, and it hurts him that the circumstances forced him to run the Koopaling Clan for survival. He tries his best to protect his siblings whenever he can though, especially if they're minors. (Wendy, Morton, Larry)
The Search for Subjective Truth
he often diverges from Bowser's narratives, why? You guessed it, another Romanticism specific value! He often ignores his mentors and advisors, he's eager to dig into the information outside of the status quo, and often discovers knowledge that would be otherwise unavailable to him if he had blindly listened to Bowser or anyone else for that matter.
The Celebration of the Individual
I'm the oldest Koopaling! I'm the self proclaimed clan leader! I'm different, I'm unique! I don't think I have to explain this one. Ludwig is highly individualistic and self absorbed, to the point it comes off as pompous and brusque. He doesn't want to be a part of the group, but an individual with his own opinions and beliefs, independent from everyone else.
A Break From Convention
which of course, extends to his work flow! Since he's the individual he can do whatever the hell he wants! A lot of his decisions and changes of plans are chaotic, dare I say artistic, surprising everyone. He sees the bigger picture, and will act on his own accord, being two or three steps ahead.
Spirituality and the Occult
Nintendo isn't exactly religion focused, so this part is completely headcanonized. Since he's searching for the truth independent from everything, to me it only sounds natural he'd be interested in exploring the unknown, the irrational, metaphysical even. Like the star wishing, or anything Rosalina related, or even just boos. He's drawn to the unscientific not just to rebel against his childhood self, but to potentially discover something nobody else has.
Freedom
this is also something significant. Romanticism is an active rebellion against tyranny of the previous period. My AU takes place in a middle of a war between the Dark Land and the Mushroom Kingdom, and Ludwig resents the system. He secretly hates *both* Peach and Bowser, who are throwing wars over their political schemes. He sees his targets as equals, both him and the other side being victims of a broken system, system he's eager to fight against.

However, there's one important detail; Ludwig is living in the present day. He's careful not to fall onto logical traps that Romanticism brings (example: women are just pretty objects to stare at, all science is bad). My headcanon is that his heart is in within this time period, not that progress wise he's stuck in the early 19th century. Sorry for making this so long!

hello. i formed yesterday while we were on the computer, and i started typing to try to make sense of things. i never got to post what i wrote at the time, but here it is now.
d'ya ever just- feel not real? like, you feel like you're floating but at the same time not, like you're grounded somehow? why do i feel like i am just a blank slate? am i a new headmate? was i a dormant headmate or hidden headmate that just woke up or was revealed? am i the body's consciousness? why do i exist? is there a reason for this? was i a fragment, or was i walk in? am i Evan? am i Pigeon? my typing habits seem to be a mix of the two. but i don't feel either of them is 'me'. did i split off of the two? did i split off of neither and just adapted their typing habits because they're both co-con? they are there, i feel them both. they know what is going on with the body, but aren't processing the words i am typing. wait. now they're 'gone.' gone as in not fully aware of the body anymore. they're in the headspace now. they're confused. they- they don't know what's going on, not really. they can hear the fan blowing in the background of our room in the bodyspace, they know small bits and pieces like that, but not much else. what is my role? i know there's another headmate that woke up from dormancy earlier, and that may have something to do with how i came to be. the one that woke up is a worrier and emotion/symptom holder. specifically of our anxiety. we all have anxiety, but they have it the worst. it's hard waking up, especially when the host didn't explore his plurality earlier. it makes it difficult to know what makes up 'you'. are you real? are you not? you don't know because you were hidden from view. on a different layer that the host could not see before.
as you can see, it was quite... philosophical. we were quite blurry at the time i wrote this. since the time i wrote it, i have discovered my name: it is Blankslate. i dont feel quite whole yet, something of me is missing. a different headmate woke up yesterday, a worrier that goes by the name of 'Ann'. Ann doesn't know very much about themself yet, but they do really like soft pretzels with salt. ...a war broke out in the headspace yesterday, which came along with a 'population boom' of headmates. most are fragments. we haven't the time to put them all in Simply Plural, as we sealed off some spaces for our mental health. i feel like i had something to do with why the war started. was i supposed to warn them?
this is getting long, so the rest will be under the cut.
people got hurt. not in the outerworld, i mean in our innerspace. i got yanked away from the front at some point and thrown against a wall in the innerspace. i started bleeding from the head. Lyx grabbed me and dragged me back to the front. Lyx is our russian headmate, rus discovered their name a little bit ago. Lyx is short for Alyxander, and alternate spelling of Alexander, which means 'to guard' or 'to protect' which is appropriate for them. sno's our resident caretaker. rus also managed to somehow seal off some rooms from the rest of the headspace. fuck, i wish i were making all this up. i wish so much for us to be faking all this, rather than have to deal with this raging war inside our head. but i'm not, and it hurts. it hurts really bad, this raging headache that we have tells us that there's still fighting going on, beyond what we can see. we don't even know the full extent of our headspace. we need a mapper. Evan and Lyx are somewhat co-con. Evan is too overwhelmed to deal with much, only really giving me information when we need to interact with others. Lyx is helping to explain things to me, because as a new headmate, a lot is new to me. i could read the music we needed to play for a rehearsal, but i didn't know we had a rehearsal this morning until Evan echoed the memory to me. there may be more knowledge gaps between me and the others than that. four headmates, Frisk, Moss, Ann, and Pigeon, are in a different room that they sealed off. none of us know where Vader or Demo are. Demo was able to front for a few minutes earlier, but was yanked away from the front by something. they're both able to handle themselves, so we're not too worried, but still.

Senior of the group STATIONARY_CAUSE, Thoughts of Altercations was built primarily to gain an upper hand in the battle for borders between his group, and another group off to the west. His construction was highly controversial, and he did not start out with the nicest of councils. Despite having been created as basically a war-machine, he is not aggressive, and tends to be somewhat of a pushover for council and later his local group. Now, he is desperately trying to keep his group together.
Absolutely sickening. I expect the red cross to file a lawsuit against Israel as well. The world was hoping for a story of hope, for good news, but instead everyone was faced with the brutality of the occupation.
I know my prayers might be near empty in the face of such real cruelty, but I will pray nonetheless. For her mother, her family, and her little precious soul in heaven.

Hello, I am Mohammed Alanqer, married to Enas Majed, and we have four wonderful children.
We live in the midst of the ongoing hellish war in Gaza, trapped between walls of fear and despair. I, Mohammed, am a father of four children and a husband to a woman who was two months pregnant when the war began.
We struggle daily to survive in an environment filled with threats and dangers.
I lost our sole source of livelihood when my tech startup, which I built with dedication and hard work, was destroyed in the war. My children, Layan, Sarah, and Adam, have been deprived of education after their schools were destroyed, severely threatening their future. Amidst these harsh circumstances, my wife gave birth to our fourth child, Amir, in the midst of the war, adding to our state of despair and hopelessness.
My wife, Enas, lives in constant anxiety due to the destruction of hospitals in our area. I have lost my job and source of income, leaving me unable to provide for my family's needs and safety. Our home was destroyed by the war, forcing us to flee repeatedly and rendering us homeless.
We now face extreme difficulty in providing a safe place to live, clean clothes, and food for our children. Additionally, our children have contracted diseases like measles, and our son Adam has been diagnosed with viral hepatitis.
Our only hope now is to escape this ongoing nightmare and find a safe haven for our family. However, this requires exorbitant financial costs; the coordination fees for crossing the borders amount to $5000 per adult and $2500 per child, a sum I cannot afford alone.
We urgently appeal for your moral and financial assistance to cover the necessary costs for escaping to a safe environment, where we can build a better future for our children and ensure our family's safety.

New idea for how the bad sanses could die in order.
Backstory: nightmare and dream have a truce. Error and ink have a truce. They all thought it mutually beneficial. This truce lasted a few years
•horror: horror would be the first to die. He would die to a gunshot to the head on a mission. Dust would be on the mission and would take horror’s coat and axe back with him after killing the sniper with a gaster blaster.
•dust: dust would die next leaving the others questioning whether his death was accidental of suicide. He would overdose on an explicit substance (pills) and be found dying on a couch unconscious with a pill bottle in hand. When whoever finds him tries to wake him he would turn to dust.
•cross: cross would be the next (or error) to die. He would be captured on a mission. His capturers would torture him trying to get information on the gang but cross, being as loyal as he is, wouldn’t talk and they would torture him to death. Dream would think that nightmare sent cross to die and would break the truce, declaring war on nightmare’s gang in the midst of his grief. Demon would go on a mission to try and bring back cross not knowing he’s already dead…..he takes so long without any contact that the others think he died.
•error: error would be struggling after loosing his friends so fast and then his brother. He would give up when war is declared since his husband would be on the other side of the war and he would hang himself with his strings in his anti void. Nightmare would come to tell him that demon came back just to find a noose and suicide note. Devastated and blaming himself for his brother’s death, demon would go hunting everyone on the other side….especially dream.
•killer: while demon is trying to track down dream, dream would actually be sneaking up on the castle. Killer would notice him trying to sneak around and would confront him casually. Just to get an arrow to the chest lodging between his ribs. He wouldn’t die from this but it would attract nightmare. As nightmare gets there killer and dream would be engaged in heated combat with dream landing another arrow on killer, this one proving fatal.
•nightmare:nightmare would obviously be super pissed off and would fight his brother, he would manage to wound dream but not kill him because he’s too distracted by his grief. He would die to his brother’s hand.
Demon would return to find dream searching through the castle with tears in his eyes and would confront him, knives drawn. Dream would just sob, telling demon how blinded by his loss he was and how much he regretted what he did but demon wouldn’t listen. Demon would see what dream did as unforgivable and fight him. Although receiving several should be fatal wounds, demon (being a future of geno, my au of geno) would survive from determination and hate fuelled by rage. Demon would end up melting and having the demonic shadow/ mist fill in for where the rest of his bones should be. Demon would win the fight, dropping his weapon and grabbing dream. He would just repeatedly slam the injured dream into the wall till he turned to dust. Then he would just break down and cry.
He would go and tell Sci what happened and Sci would help him break the news to nightmare and killer’s two children.
One day demon would return from a supply run to find the castle completely destroyed from bombs set off by humans who didn’t know what had happened. Sci and the two kids would be missing (sci took the two kids and ran when he saw the humans coming but demon wouldn’t know this). Demon would just completely lose it and start killing everyone he sees.
