Was talking about the Fairy VS walrus poll with some friends which led to "but what about a walrus dressed as a fairy?" and so this was born 😌
I’m just saying that if a fairy came to my door I would be surprised but (probably) happy.
if a walrus was at my door the main thing I would immediately panic that’s a big animal like really big and also incredibly strong with two massive spears in its mouth that can be deadly

For the walrus-fairy debate.
My mom answered with no question walrus. My dad was very confused as to why we would believe in fairies and thus said fairy.
I’m team walrus, I don’t live near the sea and I don’t assume a walrus would knock. I’d be surprised if fairies existed but I would accept it.
My take on the walrus knocking on your door versus a fairy knocking on your door thing is that I don't believe in magic or fairies whatsoever and I'd still be more surprised by the walrus. A fairy knocking on my door means I've made one bad assumption about how the world works; a walrus knocking on my door – in Saskatchewan, in February – means I'm wrong about a great many things.

A little late to this, but honestly when it comes to the walrus/fairy poll, I personally think the wording is very important. A walrus politely knocking on your door and waiting is obviously more likely than a fairy, given how they actually exist. However, the poll said what would you be more surprised by. To which honestly, somehow a fairy seems less surprising. I think it's because, while a fairy existing would obviously be crazy, it kinda already answers the only question it brings up, whereas a walrus doing that would just cause so many questions. Humans aren't logical beings, simple as that.

More selkies! After some consideration I will stick to the bear/seal hybid designs. This makes them way more versatile and it makes sense that humans would want to transform into an animal that can swim as well as it can run. More rant under the cut
Many coastal folks have developed their own techniques for pelts, and can become selkies that are inspired by their local fauna. Pelt carving is a very delicate craft, and the resulting pelt can fail when it is damaged through trauma or simple wear and tear and requires lots of mending and checking - because a failing pelt can seriously harm a human. However, everyone who can work magic through a charm can use them.
True selkies hail from cultures who have been using these pelts for such a long time; the magic has affected them in such a way that sometimes, people are born with pelts. These grow with their owner, they are very robust and can heal on their own.
In the line-up you can see Seal Supremacy Grandma, Aard, which are ice bear/leopard seal selkies, and Lorri, she is a grizzly/walrus selkie :D
There are people you just don't want to mess with. But sometimes, they leave you no choice.
Mermay #27 - Wally the Walrus Mer Another one for the mer pod into actual mers, it’s Wally the walrus mer. XD He’s always been begrudgingly walrus-patterned and walrus-like ever since an incident during his walrus hunting days when he got imprinted with the walrus pattern, but as an actual walrus mer I think he hates it even more. XD Even when he’s just patterned he doesn’t like stepping foot in any familiar places with too many people around, so this really just makes it a lot worse for him. XD
More like; I AM THE WALRUS.

Sailing before the storm
Fresh air on the balcony of the Walrus (Black Sails) Sometimes they celebrated. The beautiful pirate ship and her crew. A moment of peace between horrors and nightmares, battles and voyages.
