Steve's never called Bucky 'Jamie' in his life. Bucky has never been called 'Jamie' in his whole life. It wasn't really a thing back in the 40s, not like it is now. There'd maybe the occasional Jim, Jimmy or Jimbo if Dum Dum was looking to rile the man up and get his hat stolen later, but never 'Jamie.'

Yet as this guy, this Peter fellow who came from the future- or another universe? Some kind of mix between the two? His head hurts thinking about it- spots Bucky, their Bucky, entering the lab in his peripherals he holds out a hand behind him without taking his eyes off his project; throwing out a "Hey Jamie, pass me the soldering pen, please? It's on the left next to a ginormous spool of wire."

Bucky, decidedly their Bucky and not this guy's 'Jamie' stops dead and his blank mask drops, eyes going wide as saucers.

Peter's fingers wiggle and when no tool appears in it, he looks up. His playful frown drops into genuine stammering embarrassment when he clocks the chrome arm.

"Oh god, I am so sorry I uh- I thought you were my Buck- I mean our, our! From my world, my one, not- As in not yours, not you. He's not my anything, even though I guess he is my Bucky it's just not uh-"

Bucky cuts the man off by picking up the tool in question and flicking it his way, which Peter catches swiftly out of the air. Steve tries to get a read on Buck, but his face has gone blank again, back to hiding behind the Winter Soldier training.

Another preview, this time of an AU I'm writing and the reason the installment the fic my last teaser was from hasn't been posted yet... Whoops. It's set during the new timeline Steve created when he told his past self Bucky was alive, while Peter is from another timeline. It's a bit convoluted but it's the multiverse, when isn't that convoluted??

my absolute favourite thing about the kirk and spock dynamic is that the whole time you’re watching the show spock is gaslighting you into thinking that kirk is this loose canon and spock is paragon of logic keeping his captain on the straight and narrow when its very clearly the other way round. aside from being turned on by everyone and fighting like an old-timey boxer…. kirk is just like.. quite a logical, stable guy. like yeah he rules with his emotions but he’s rarely reckless or erratic, even in situations of immense pressure he’s always calm and measured. sure kirk is unhinged and insane, but we knew that right off the bat. spock on the other hand tries to hide how insanely balls to the walls crazy he is by standing next to jim and hiding all his derangement with logic. i think the reason bones beefs with spock so much because he is the only one who has noticed that spock is an absolutely unhinged individual. (jim is too busy doodling <3 mr jim spock <3 all over his briefings to notice)

Just because I've seen old quoras about it and none of the answers seem to take into account this very important detail:

Tobey's Spider-Man dodging a New York train isn't evidence that he would've gotten out of the way of the train that hit Tom's Spider-Man. There's no way in fact. The one that hit Peter 1 in Far From Home is considerably faster than the one that Peter 2 dodged, it was an international bullet train going at around 360 mph. The one Peter 2 dodged (and was also hit by) was a New York city train barely hitting 60 mph now let alone 20 years ago.

So yeah, no matter how much you prefer Peter 2, dodging a train going x6 slower than the one that hit Peter 1 doesn't mean a thing.

Just realized Peter and Bucky have both been taken out by a train before, so many missed opportunities for dark jokes

Feral gremlin Kaine trying to use his poisonous stingers on Bucky but it backfires when he stabs the metal arm and really hurts/breaks off one of his stingers instead

When Kaine stumbles back, Bucky just points "HA!" right as the fight carries on with Kaine x10 more pissed off now

(inspired by that time T'Challa, in the heat of battle and muscle memory, tried to put Bucky's metal arm in an arm lock and all that happened was Bucky looking at him like "...really?")

Peter curing Norman instead of killing him, even when the Goblin just stabbed Peter 2 in front of him, because he knew Norman was not mentally cognizant of his actions and would've never otherwise hurt May paints a whole different light on Tony going after Bucky and Peter's loyalty to him.

I think it'd be interesting to see that debate/see how that influences Peter's rose-tinted glasses, posthumously too.

Neither Norman nor Bucky had a choice in what they did, they only differ in that Norman tested on himself and Bucky was experimented on, so Bucky had even less autonomy than Norman (yet he was made to atone...wtf). Just...gah Marvel really missed an opportunity there. This isn't about who's right or who's wrong btw, just addressing how much May's death and Norman and the Green Goblin would inform Peter's perspective on Tony (given he has now gone through exactly the same thing as Tony did, only he witnessed it happen, and made a different call.)

Peter had the chance to continue and didn't, I think that's an incredibly powerful sign that he isn't Tony's protégé anymore.

Civil War AU where someone actually tells the 14 year old what's going on, like real details about the situation not just "them guys wrong, we right", and Peter defects like he does in the comics

WinterSpider Hunger Games AU 

It’s the 73rd Annual Hunger Games. Peter is a tribute from District 10, who has spend his whole life around animals and farming livestock. Bucky is a career tribute from District 2 who has spend most of his life around weapons and training to be in the Hunger Games.  In the beginning of the Games, Bucky pairs up with the Careers and and the ever so nimble Peter is able to get away with a bag of supplies and throwing darts. After encountering a field of landmines, Bucky is injured and thought to be dead by the other Careers who leave him behind. After crawling around the arena, barely alive, Peter encounter’s Bucky. He takes pity on him and nurses the wounds.  When Bucky comes to, he immediate tries to choke Peter out. “You should have let me die,” he says through gritted teeth. “Why didn’t you let me die?”  “I’m sorry! I couldn’t, I just couldnt!” Peter responds. The look in his eyes makes Bucky ease his grip around the younger’s neck.  Peter continues to help Bucky but Bucky knows in the back of his head that he’ll be killing Peter the moment he’s healed. That idea alone becomes harder and harder to come to terms with as time goes by with Peter by his side.

keep thinking about how Bucky affectionately calling Steve "punk" in CATFA is essentially the era equivalent of a gay guy saying "hey f@g" and how there's really people out there convinced he's straight
