You think Itachi ever felt bad that his last few months with his father were filled with fighting and disagreements. Which ended in a resounding "I know we don't always get along but you're my son and I love you anyways". Because I sure do.

PLS 😭 😭😭
OK here's another idea (as always feel free to disregard): children take a while to figure out how to word things politely and even to tell white lies. One of my relatives mentioned how she took her daughter to a clothing store and tried out a dress in front of her, and the girl said "That looks pretty!" And her mom was so flattered and praised her daughter for being kind. Then her daughter said, "Thanks! I was going to say that it makes you look fat, but then I remembered to be polite." LOL this reeks of Anya. Roasting Franky. Or Fiona. Or Twilight. Or Yuri. Or Damian. (Def not Yor cuz she's perfect)

it kinda reads like a calvin and hobbes comic
Hidan ft Kakuzu
yes I bled all over your perfect white carpet but my blood is actually pretty awesome you should be excited to live with my awesome blood
Or not ig

I made the Akatsuki on the Sims and they’re all heathens.
-Deidara and Hidan keep stomping around the house cussing without prompt
-Hidan keeps pranking the toilet and and as such breaking it repetitively
-Sasori is just. Always sobbing in his bed.
-Kisame has set the house on fire multiple times
-Sasuke keeps visiting and Hidan is Mean to him
Hiashi. Please. For the love of all your bitter old heart holds dear. Yes. Please. Stop being mean to your daughters and nephew.

I just realized. Itachi's medicine (Kotaro) from the novels was originally created by "Tenma Kodon".
Tenma. The same first name as the teammate Itachi watched die in front of him as a genin.
Meaningful? Probably not. Interesting? To me.
My new favorite typo of all time: "His eboy eyes-"
Ebony. His eyes are ebony.
Itachi, I'm so sorry.
I am so normal about all the Kirigakure shinobi. Especially the aquatic ones.
My younger sibling, making some of their health mix for me: Okay so as warning. This stuff works wonders but is disgusting. I usually take it in shot form and follow it with a chaser.
Me: Yeah okay lol dramatic ass pour the vegetable shot
Me, taking the shot and literally falling to my knees with tears in my eyes: oh my god why would you put yourself through that every day. What the fuck man.
I feel this is the closest thing to ever getting to try Xie Lian's cooking. My gods. It's like burnt matcha, protein powder mixed with paint, and limes all thrown together.
Today I learned that a high pain tolerance does NOT translate to having a strong stomach. My knees actually and for real hit the floor. My ass was kneeling on the kitchen floor doing the world's shittiest Itachi impression like.

I will say. The headache that has plagued me for months does hurt a bit less only ~15 minutes later. I think that fucking concoction knocked it out of me.
Madara + Izuna's mom for the fic I've been slowly working on in my head has art now, but no name. Bc that's the appropriate order those things should go in.

Not my art - a commision drawn by @/7angeltrumpets
Something I think about. So often. Is the scene with Sasuke resurrecting the Hokage. Where Hashirama refers to Sasuke as an "Innocent Uchiha child" and Tobirama calls Sasuke a "Strapling". Implying both precieve 16/17ish year old Sasuke as still being a child.
Which I mean. They aren't wrong. But it was so jarring the first time I made that connection considering. Everything. In naruto.
Ik it was probably just an excuse for Sasuke to give his "I'm not innocent nor a child" speech/ for the sake of Hashirama and Tobirama goofiness but idk. It's just interesting to me. That that's their initial precieving of someone that age.
The pain of having to close out a fic and save it for tomorrow bc your damn ✨️flesh vessel✨️ needs ✨️subsistence✨️ and ✨️energy✨️ like yeah okay whatever universe fuck me then ig
I think Izuna deserves to of had blue flames. As a treat.
whoops! i want to make tobirama suffer tonight.
what if behind the stoic attitude there wasn’t a guy who denies his emotions (which is the main hc if i’m right) but a guy who spends his nights crying and having breakdowns over and over again and is absolutely miserable. he’s only good at masking! which makes him even more lonely and isolated.
no, it’s not that he’s not interested in friendships or romantic relationships, he simply has no idea how to communicate and connect with people. he feels like nobody wants him and will ever truly love and want him.
hashirama doesn’t count, he’s his brother, of course he loves him. he didn’t choose him. and that’s the point: nobody chooses tobirama.
he is the no-fun, cold, weird and unappealing guy. he clearly isn’t the worst but he is very very average on everything that is not related to power or science/knowledge. just a nerd
I recently bought the full collection of the "Scythe" series by Neal Shuterman because I was like "Oh yeah I used to be obsessed with that series but they only had the first few books at my local library" and upon rereading it. I'm reminded of how much merit the idea of a Scythe x Naruto crossover has. I would read the fuck out of that au. Especially with the Uchiha as Scythes? With *Itachi* as a Scythe? Pls.
The scene where the elder scythe tells the mc that the first requirement to be a Scythe is to not want to be one. Tell me that doesn't have Itachi written all over it.
Man. A fic that follows Itachi going from a child curious about human nature in a world so perfected. To an apprentice trying to grasp the concept of what makes a kill 'righteous' or 'evil' for himself as he trains behind probably either Danzo, Madara, or Orochimaru. Him becoming a full fledged scythe and trying his damndest to fit into a world he doesn't want to be in.
Not to mention his motivation could be to become one in order to assure Sasuke gets eternal immunity. Danzo recruiting him to be his student with the reminder that if he accepts. Itachi will never have to fear for his brother's safety again.
Just. There's so many overlaying themes. That would be so fun to see explored.
[Anti-Jiraiya, probably skip this post if you're a fan of him]

Me, opening up naruto trading cards and seeing one is a UR: Oh fucking hell yeah let's go let's go!! What a win!!
Me, seeing it's Jiraiya: Oh. You.
I actively felt my dopamine levels spike. Then immediately plummet. In half a second.
Fic where the unjust death of the Uchiha and the subsequent horrific abuse to their bodies via blatant and indiscriminant eye theft results in Konoha being haunted by the spirits of several very angry Uchiha.
"You know... They say that so long as an Uchiha's eyes do not rest in their body, their spirit will never find peace."
When the husk of a woman who used to be Mikoto smiles, there is blood in her teeth.
"What do you think, Elder Danzo?"
Ft.
- Sasuke being repeatedly lured into the woods by the ghosts of his family (and notably, his parents) both bc some want to protect him and some, not powerful enough to retain their sanity in death, wish for him to die so they might take their eyes as their own
- Nara Shikaku, among others in the Hokage's tower, being repeatedly faced with the unsettlingly eyeless ghost of Fugaku as he appears sporadically and attempting to act as if nothing is wrong— always dissapearing when someone questions how he is there (whether he truly seems to keep forgetting that he has died is unclear, but no methods to purge the offices seems able to keep him away for long)
- the spirit of Mikoto taking on a spokesperson role for the dead, as she seems to have been the one to retain the most of herself in death while plagued with the corruptive everything that comes with being a spirit tied to the earth through nefarious means (with Fugaku being a potential second— if he wasn't so busy w convincing himself he hadn't died at all)
- Danzo being haunted by the more mindlessly violent Uchiha ghosts, driven mad in the afterlife at seeing their eyes in his unworthy flesh
- A surprisingly sane Kagami who has Thoughts and Feelings ab Danzo taking his eye— and the mystery of how exactly he had died
- A suddenly the most qualified person to deal with ghosts Kakashi, who's unfortunatley doomed both attract and to be able to see the Uchiha ghosts with his sharingan, and has them breathing down the back of his neck with talk of watching after Sasuke and GETTING REVENGE !!!!!!!!!!!!! which he is legally obligated to do now as the elder ghosts deem his service as their conduit to be his duty, since they gave him a pass on the eye thing. There's a lot of "see I TOLD you it was a good idea to let him keep the eye!! Clearly Amaterasu has left him here for us to use in our darkest of hours"
Aka forcefully adopted by Uchiha ghosts Kakashi who's "adoption" reads a little more like "indentured servitude to the afterlife"
(And he can't help but wonder why he hasn't seen Obito's ghost, after so many years with his eye in his head...
- Itachi being absoloutley hounded by the guilt of what hes done and the spirits of those hes killed, whove left the haunting of Konoha specifically to haunt him (He is not having fun) (The ghost of Shisui is doing his best to ward away the more volatile ones)
And more !!! Potentially, idk. This would be a fun one if I wrote it but I will not. Someone totally should tho , just, not me.
Me, every time I enter a store during Halloween, looking to my family with arms full of crows: It's for. It's for the holiday. Because. Spooky season. And. Um. Spooky. For the season. No other reason.
"Itachi was wrong like every time he recounted a moment in history!" okay his bad for not knowing the specifics of what was going down like 80 years ago.
Poor dude probably got told it by Obito who learned it when he was like 8. 20 years ago or whatever. From Madara who it happened with like 6 decades ago.
Or through a book. You're telling me "Madara stole his younger brothers eyes" isn't some peak Konoha Propaganda logging.
Like. He was wrong don't get me wrong but. How was he supposed to know the founding fathers were going to have a little get together with his brother to be like "No no no. Close, but no."
Anyway. History buff Itachi is true in my heart. It's not his fault the dead literally rose to correct him. And I have a feeling he would have been so interested to know the true accounts anyway.
Fuck. All my problems could be solved by Itachi meeting the past Hokages it has so much potential to be interesting.
Rewatching the first few episodes of naruto is such an experience every time bc it's like. Look at them all in their lil outfits. Look at their lil soft faces. Look at Sasuke trying so diligently to be a hardass, Naruto running around like a lost puppy, and Sakura's absolute starry eyed potential. They're still babies. Every time I see a piece of fanart of them next to war arc them it invokes actual tears /hj
I love fandom Izuna but every time I watch a scene where he's in it I'm like. Who is this. Who de-pazzazzed the boy. Who stole his sarcasm and attitude problems. Where's my prissy son.

an artist
Also if I go with the KisaIta thing. I feel he could probably win Kisame over without. Too much difficulty. But would have a harder time with Itachi soley because he couldn't read Itachi near as well. Like.
He's assigned as a temporary third of their squad while the organization is figuring out what they're doing since it isn't like yknow. Kakuzu or Sasori will be much help in refining his talents (Water based jutsu and kenjutsu - something both Kisame and Itachi are familiar with plus just. Them generally being clan + if Shizuma awakens his sharingan [which I have so many thoughts on oh boy] at least he'd have someone to train him. Plus Kisame to watch for his loyalty since tbf the last time a guy went "Let me join!!" It didn't go well [Orochimaru].
Him joining and being like. Okay. I'm in the era of conflict. Fuck yeah. This feels so much closer to the concept of home vs anything I've felt in a long while. He's feeling it, absolutely settling in well. With his general quietness/politeness (Kakuzu + Sasori are happy he's out of their way), being absolutely down to wreck havoc with them when Hidan or Deidara are getting up to shit, and moving like a machine on missions - absolutely having the time of his life while being so efficient and out of the way it actually helps Kisame and Itachi on their missions despite him being substantially weaker. Just. Aiding them both and utterly triving falling into bloodlust^tm with Kisame.
But anyway. Him just. Not being able to figure out why Itachi doesn't seem to like him (Itachi doesn't hate him he's just. Trying to slide the fucking kid into his plans and trying to decide how to handle him. Mission wise and emotionally.)
But Shizuma just. Absolutely obliterating the enemy and looking over his shoulder like See. I'm Strong. I Belong Here. And absolutely falling apart over the realization that. Fuck. He's always wanted validation for his existence deep down. But having got it from Kisame. He wants it from Him too. What does he have to do to get it. And just. Losing his mind trying to understand why he's not getting it bc. Look!! He's ruthless, just like Itachi. Look!! He's clever in battle, just like Itachi. Look!! He took down like 10 guys himself, isn't that something to look at!!
Just. Shizuma being faced with the realization that what he wants is not Just Bloodshed. That he was *Built* for bloodshed and that he's *Good* at bloodshed so he *Does* bloodshed and deserves to be acknowledged because *Hes Doing It Right, He Is Right, Doesn't Itachi See That? Doesn't The World See That?*
Meanwhile poor Itachi is watching from the sidelines like oh. Great. Parenthood. Now I can juggle the emotional crisises of a fourteen year old plus mine. Okay. Fuck. Good job, universe. Give the man that is simply a pile of emotional baggage wrapped in a cloak ANOTHER bag to carry and keep track of. Great idea.
Time travel au with Shizuma where he ends up in the past and attempts to join the Akastuki by offering them information on the future. Giving them intel he learned in school/from stories to avoid their eventual defeat (/eventual 'peace' in the mist). And being horrified as a good chunk of the organization is like "Maybe we should speed run this if we have a clean shot to achieving peace actually" while he is there going "no no no listen that is NOT the message I am trying to deliver"
