My love for the color black

My Love For The Color Black

Many assume that if you wear only black, you’re a depressed and bleak individual. They fail to see past the common misconception (death, despair and dreadfulness) of the color for what it really represents. Mystery and the unknown. Darkness and mystery abounds in the universe, and deep in the abysses of the sea. Black is a beautiful color, you just have to open your eyes and mind a bit more to fully see its exquisiteness.

I can relate to the color. I am not an open book, and I like to be inconspicuous as well. It’s better to be mysterious, and have a select few of like-minded people see your inner beauty that the majority fail to see.

I can relate to No-Face

It’s been YEARS since I’ve seen the Studio Ghibli movie “Spirited Away”! I watched the movie earlier today and was not disappointed. It still remains one of my most favorite Japanese animation movies. When I saw No-Face the first thing I thought was how much I was creeped out by him and his appearance. However, as an adult, I can see more relatability in this character. I was so intrigued by his disposition. He seems like such a lovable spirit, but it depends on his environment as well as what, or who, he eats. I read about his personality on the Studio Ghibli Wiki and found this: “He (No-Face) is shown to be capable of reacting to emotions and ingesting other individuals in order to gain their personality and physical traits. He is a lonely spirit. Not knowing much about the Bathhouse or about other spirits in general. No-Face learned by example and adapted to his surroundings.”

I can relate to the loneliness as well as reacting to the emotions of others. It can be exhausting! I become wholly invested in individuals who seem “out of the ordinary” in terms of views and morality. So, I can see why he took an interest in Chihiro, and became attached to her. She acknowledged his existence and treated him with kindness, aside from the fact that he ruined the Bathhouse. Towards the end of the movie, Zeniba saw his true personality as well as creativity skills and took him as her apprentice, which was sweet!! She never once saw him as a nuisance.

I also believe that No-Face represents what can happen to a person who is in a corrupt environment. When he ate some of the staff at the Bathhouse, he took on not only their personality, but also their corruption. Now that he is with Zeniba, he can continue to don his timid, yet wholesome personality.

Relaxation and calming my mind

When I write in my haiku journal, I have a tendency to listen to or watch Bob Ross paint. He gives me motivation when I want to be creative. Also I tend to have negative thoughts, so his calm voice is very relaxing.

heyyy, reblogging with a note: pls be aware that 16personalities.com is based on the big 5/OCEAN model, rather than what MBTI was originally - based on Jungian personality typing. Enneagram may be helpful to you too as it's more about nurture (rather than nature, which MBTI is attempting to dissesct) and ways we respond to fears, and how we can grow as individuals

Heyyy, Reblogging With A Note: Pls Be Aware That 16personalities.com Is Based On The Big 5/OCEAN Model,

Personality typing like MBTI, OCEAN and enneagram is pseudo-science, but can still be helpful :)

I had to look up what infj-a was, but when I read it, I felt seen. It’s kind of scary the way it picks apart my personality and how much injustice really makes me upset. I’m an academic as well, and an artist, so a lot of that makes sense.

I'm glad you felt seen! Welcome to the rarest of personality groups. It's a bit of a blessing and a curse, imho.

For most of my life, I've wondered, "Am I the only one who feels/sees/experiences/thinks this way?" As I've gotten older and have interacted with more people, I realize that most people don't quite experience or think about things the way I do. I feel intensely and think deeply, and I wish I could turn it all off some days.....but I can't. I JUST FEEL SO DAMN MUCH. At times, it consumes me and it's something I am constantly working on.

So the next best thing has been for me to explore behaviors, personality traits, psychosocial influences, etc. to better understand what shapes us. And that's where the INFJ-A typing kicked in and resonated with me. I'm well aware that there have been raging debates about the scientific validity of MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator), but anecdotally, I've found the personality typing to be personally helpful. They are more like theories of personalities to me...things you can use to guide and help you structure your thinking.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me! I really enjoy hearing about these things from others!

Things get weird when I, a sensitive and feeling person, become the most logical person in the room during a conversation and somehow am unable to connect to the emotional aspect of it.

Not a lot of people know that this is what happens and they usually expect an emotional reaction out of me that I just can't seem to come up with.

It gets weird.
