Guys if you’re going to say Snape protecting the golden trio from a fully transformed werewolf Lupin wasn’t in the books and only the movies so we can’t use that to say he wasn’t that bad- then you can’t use what happened in marauders fanfics to say he was a bad person cause it didn’t happen in the books. Just saying 🤷‍♂️

Would Mstans still like the Marauders if we never met Snape? If he was killed as a student just for simply existing? If James didn’t stop Sirius from luring Snape to Remus? Or would they hate them? Hate them for torturing a little boy who was abused and neglected by his father. Hate them for bullying him just because he existed and was close to a girl James liked. Because he was “weird” because he was “different”? Practically forcing him into a cult to feel wanted… If we only saw Snape as a student before he died like the Mstans want, would they like the Marauders after that?

I don't care if I have no money (Which I do) I'm giving him the best vacation with me ever.

If I met the Marauders I would tell them I know a place then drop them off at the nearest psych ward to be evaluated.

If I met Snape I’d tell him I know a place, take him to therapy, book him a vacation, get him a nice meal and make sure he actually eats it, drive him home and help him pack for said vacation, go to Hogwarts and threaten anyone who tries to stop him from getting his much needed break, go with him on the vacation and make sure he has the best time in his life.

Like c’mon let’s be honest 😭 if we want to talk canon, SNAPE was a victim of the marauders (specifically James’s) bullying. Ofc yes he was terrible to Harry and yes, he was mean during his years in school. But being honest with all of you (as a victim of bullying) it changes you as a person, Snape did nothing to deserve that kind of treatment.

Snape is literally just used as the ‘bad guy’ because the fandom already converted the slytherins (More Regulus and Barty who are canonically known to be PROUD DEATH EATERS) and now they need a character to “bully” and make the marauders (and I’m talking about Sirius and James) look cool.

Please grow up and realize that if you can and want to make Regulus, Barty, Evan, NARCISSA AND BELLATRIX good people, you should also consider doing the same for snape. That man did NOTHING to be as hated as he is 😭😭

I don't get why people are so pissed off about me calling Lily a major red flag FRIEND, Severus did terrible stuff, but my point still stands—Lily was a major red flag friend and Severus having her as the best thing that happened to her is kind of fucked up because she's just terrible... Like yes Severus did terrible stuff but I have made myself clear, Lily is a major red flag friend and I don't plan on writing essays about this. Severus did terrible stuff and I could write about it, he did terrible stuff, but it isn't about "Severus was a great person" or "Severus was a beanie cutie guy who was just a sad child" the main point is Lily is a red flag for a friend because I'd never deflect stuff that happened to my friend just to defend my crush, believe the bully of my friend, or laugh at my friend getting SA'd. I literally had to repeat myself more than a billion times about Severus even though that's not the main point of the thread in the first place. Lily was there the time he was SA'd so I do not know what you mean by "She couldn't react". Sure he called her a Mudblood for the intentions of hurting her, but he was in a vulnerable state while he said that, Lily wasn't when she was holding her laugh while he was being SA'd, deflecting his bullies's mistakes, nor believing his bully. Okay he called his peers "Mudbloods" he called Lily a "Filthy Mudblood", I do not know what else you want me to tell you because my main point was Lily was a red flag friend, unless you want me to tell you that Severus was a red flag friend as well :|

I'm just saying my opinion on stuff, I might be biased, but Lily was an actual red flag. She defended Severus from the Marauders then behind the scenes she's defending them.

(+ Severus also comforted her when she basically said, "Will being a mudblood change me?" That means that he didn't have his prejudiced thoughts before going to Slytherin, okay he was prejudiced when he was eleven but he was influenced, how could you not?)

I do not know what you're trying to prove me wrong at, but my main point was Lily was a red flag and I feel bad for Severus being love-starved that he actually loved Lily while Lily was... Lily. So if anything, I think you should prove me wrong about how Lily wasn't a terrible friend rather than Severus acting like a prejudiced pure-blood because that was clearly not the thing that I was trying to say in the first place.

snape was a child abuser, who regularly insulted, embarrassed and physically injured his students on a daily basis. he only was part of the order bc he had an unhealthy obsession with his childhood bestfriend, who he called a slur on several occasions. who he, on top of trying to kill her husband, didn't care about her child or family until her life was in danger. he only became "good" when the woman who had rejected him several times might have been injured. he was such a terrible teacher and human being, that one of his student's BIGGEST FEAR was him. he was racist and a blood supremecist, even though he was a half a blood himself. he was not "morally gray", he was a horrible person.

regulus black was forced to become a death eater by his family, and in the end, betrayed voldemort and gave up his life to try to end the war. he loved his house elf, and did everything to make sure kreacher made it out alive. he was not an abuser, he was the abused.

so, yes, i can defend regulus and not defend snape.

But speaking of fanfic fanarts: Are you a writer who writes primarily Snape focused fics?

If so, there is a very very high chance I have read and enjoyed your work. (even if it's a rarepair, even if it's oc x snape, no matter the genre or pairing, no matter the skill level, even if it's unfinished, even if its deeply unserious, I cannot stress enough that i probably read it, and i probably REALLY liked it.) Thus far, I've been asking directly on a03 comments, but that's not ideal, So I'll ask here:

Are you alright with someone (me, it's me) making fanart for your fics in the future? If so PLEASE let me know. Your work has made my days much brighter, and so I would like to show that appreciation this way, IF it is alright with you. (comments and kudos alone just dont feel like enough!)

If you feel comfortable with this, I would appreciate so so much if you would reply to this post and let me know! the reason why its not as ideal to ask this on a03 as opposed as here, is because I would like to be able to tag you in your fanart and link it directly to both you and your work so that you can more easily see it, instead of only linking to your work in the post and then commenting a link to that same post in your fics, as that ends up feeling a little clunky.

TLDR; This sideblog was primarily meant as a place to post my fanart of YOUR writing, so I would like to determine which of you are alright with that, and additionally, if it would be ok to tag you in the post when said fanart is made. Thank you!

Why do ppl say that snape put children in danger when he saved children’s lives in literally every book

danger, as in physical danger? what??

After recently coming to the revelation that I actually do like Snape after hating him for so long (partially out of obligation to hate him mixed with a steady diet of wildly out-of-character Marauders fanon tbh), I’ve been thinking about the “bravest man I ever knew” line. I’ve seen a lot of people object to that statement and insist that it should instead be someone like Hagrid, Cedric, Sirius, etc., someone who “treated Harry better.” What they don’t seem to understand is that the bravest man Harry ever knew isn’t necessarily going to be the kindest man he ever knew or the best teacher he ever knew. Severus Snape was a lot of things, sure, but a coward he wasn’t.

Friendly reminder that even though Snape wasn’t a death eater, he was still a horrible teacher and a dick to children

Things that the Harry Potter films left out about Snape

Called Lily a mudblood, then tried to cover himself by saying that she alone was different from other muggleborns

Didn’t see a problem with his friends performing Dark Magic on Mary MacDonald, compared it to the Marauders pranks

Dropped a tree branch on Petunia

Attacked Remus in PoA whilst he was trying to explain things and literally said the words ‘I’ll drag the werewolf. Perhaps the Dementors will have a kiss for him too’

Continued to refuse to listen to Sirius’s explanation even though he was being compliant and had only once tried to fight back, without magic, after Snape attacked Remus

After he found out he wasn’t actually going to get an Order of Merlin, or have the satisfaction of seeing two innocent men in jail, he exposed Remus as a werewolf

Ripped a photo of James and Lily and Harry being happy and in love and a family in half and stole the half with Lily on it

Actively tried to get the Marauders expelled from Hogwarts

Dumbledore was ‘disgusted’ by his attitude towards James and Harry

Severus:*enters the afterlife* James : * Sighs * and a hello to you Severus Severus: Potter ? , where are the others? James : I don't know . Severus : So , what time does the air conditioner go off and when do the lights go out ? James : why , did you ask ? Severus : I - Ermmm...Nothing , you know , no reason at all . Severus's inner dialogue : Yeah i definitely got psyched the fuck out , this is hell. James : So , umm... care to spill the tea with what happened down there? Severus : No . James : Come on snivell- Severus : Don't you fucking think about it.

My favorite headcannon is about Snape not growing his beard so he wouldn't look so much like his father.

To expand on my previous Snape rubix cube headcannon:

Like, imagine using a Rubix cube during potions class at Hogwarts and all of the sudden, Snape snatches the unsolved Rubix out of your hand. “Detention (Your Name), my office.”

And so, you walk into Snape’s office, and sit down in a chair, prepared to write lines, and boom, Snape slams your Rubix cube on the desk, and it’s solved. I totally imagine him making you stay for detention until you solve the Rubix cube a certain amount of times.

Quick Severus Snape Headcannon:

Despite what others believe, Severus Snape and Lily Evans passed notes to eachother in class (if they were done with their classwork) and sometimes in the library when they studied.

Severus kept all of the folded notes in a little wooden box and re-read them later on.

After a long, tiring day of teaching dunderhead students, Professor Snape goes into his office and opens up the locked desk drawer with the little wooden box in it. Once in a blue moon, the shadow of a smile crosses the grumpy professors face while he looks at the contents of the box.

Love this, I think I found a new writing project

I need this Harry Potter fanfic but I don’t wanna write it

I want a Harry Potter fic where it takes place in order of the Phoenix, Sirius goes through Reg’s old stuff and finds an old muggle video camera that the slytherins used to use (regulas, snape, lucius, narcissa, maybe, just maybe y/n if anybody likes that) and they watch all the videos and it’s just them doing stupid teenager stuff, and then everybody realizes that maybe the slytherin weren’t all completely evil and stuff. Can somebody write this because it’s been on my mind for weeks and I don’t know how to write 😭😭
