Day 7: Ending / Complete
The sun was starting to set. We were running to a tree on a hill. The three of us…were racing. Eren brought up the idea and took off out of nowhere… mikasa ran too but stayed behind him on purpose… and of course I was dead last. But the breeze was nice and warm that day. Just running felt good… leaves fluttered everywhere. and… for some reason I thought then. maybe… the reason I was born… was so that the three of us could be racing there. I thought the same when I read books at home on a rainy day. When a squirrel ate some nuts I gave it. When we walked around the market too. I felt it. That these trivial moments might actually be precious.

she is the most ill mannered, crude, and selfish woman i have ever met.. and god i love her for it. i don’t love her in spite of these flaws.. no, i love her because of her flaws. no matter how mean and cold she seems to the world she always has a way of surprising even herself, with how kind and loving she can be to me… i don’t know what i did to gain the favor of the universe for being allowed to love her but i can’t question it, not for a second.. as long as the invisible laws of the universe allow me to worship her, i will.
i live and i die by her piercing glares, the dip in her hips, those lips that spew the smartest of remarks, and her beautifully complicated and analytical mind.
she might hate me right now but i will happily live with her hatred as long as she is safe and breathing. fuck, i don’t know if it was fate or plain luck that allowed me to get there in time. i don’t even know what it was that came over me, it was like my mind and body switched to auto pilot.. not a single thought in my mind just my body reacting out of pure instinct, knowing exactly when, and where to strike to prevent her unconscious body from being crushed.
I know she told me not to come, i should be securing a safe route for the evacuees to escape on.. but i would gladly let every single person in that group face their deaths as long as it means that she lives. my moral compass has been shot straight to hell and i couldn’t care less. she will hate me forever but i already made my peace with that fact before i decided to act.
thankfully Hange’s team found the evacuees and led them to safety, maybe the fact that those people are still breathing will save me from her wrath, but that is nothing but wishful thinking on my end. i will still be here by her side until she wakes … waiting for my punishment whatever it may be. will she even be able to stand the sight of me? gods, i don’t know i guess only time will tell.
