You know if this is Daniel's last race the thing that really gets me is the horseshit management of Red Bull/VCARB
Checo isn't fast enough. You're in danger of losing your constructors. So you decide you're probably going to put Daniel in the Red Bull seat in the summer. You send messages ahead to the next race to tell people not to put up Checo's promotional images.
Not so fast, Checo's sponsors say, so you leave Perez in the seat and give up on the constructors' because it's easier to get money from sponsorship than to cover the constructors'.
You want more points with VCARB, you say. You want more points but you keep effing up both your drivers with strategy and putting upgrades on the car that make them go backwards.
I know what we'll do, you say. We'll leave Daniel out for the wolves in Singapore and tell media that it isn't his last race until oops, it might be. We haven't told him though, so he can't say a proper goodbye if it is. We'll just hand him one last shit strategy and watch as he swallows it and takes fastest lap to help Max's championship. For shits and giggles we'll kill Yuki's strategy too, for fairness.
But if Daniel's gone after Singapore, what will Red Bull/VCARB do?
Let's see here. You have Checo, who went backwards in Singapore and can't help the constructors. You have Yuki, who's fast on track but can't give feedback well and has trouble keeping his emotions down on track. You have Liam, who's all well and deserving of a VCARB seat but won't be ready for Red Bull until a few years later.
You have nobody. You still haven't solved the problem of Max's teammate after six years. You refuse to let go of Checo, who shouldn't have been here after the summer break. You won't ever take the chance and promote Yuki to see if a stint in a senior team will work out for him. You'll have fired your best development and update feedback driver for your secondary team.
Carlos has gone to Williams. George, which Christian mentioned, won't ever leave Mercedes. Oscar and Lando will stay at McLaren. You asked Alex last year, and Alex laughed in your face.
And Max can no longer win the constructors' by himself in the car you give him.
It started in the summer break. Red Bull took a gun and pointed it in their own faces and slowly pulled back the trigger and it was only until now, six races from the end off the season, that we see what the bullet will do.

We faced each other in the middle of that room, once again being the centre of attention of everyone present.
It had been almost a month since we ended our relationship, but she had been asking me to keep my mouth closed, she was looking for a way to tell her mother that our engagement had come to an end.
I felt uncomfortable, so long looking forward to this moment only to have it all go to shit in the blink of an eye because of some stupidity, all I wanted was to really be with her, instead here we were, pretending everything was fine in one more rehearsal for "the big day".
I needed to change this, I needed to have her back by my side, but if she didn't want it that way, there was nothing I could change.
I knew that everyone in the room with us would suspect that something was going on, who wouldn't when the bride doesn't want to spend time alone with her fiancé? As soon as she had the chance she would run away from me to start a conversation with whoever was closest to her. I felt ridiculous, we should be enjoying this, yet I felt like the most miserable person on planet earth.
"It's all set, Lin doesn't suspect a thing. Go and enjoy yourself with your girl."
Pierre's message repeated itself over and over again in my mind. The words were easy to twist.
It was all a misunderstanding and it was the cause of her dumping me. I tried to explain but she wouldn't let me, wouldn't even let me try.
And so it marked our destiny in an end.
In the huge hall where the rehearsal was taking place I felt like an intruder, my heart ached to see her and not be able to get close.
I moved away from everyone, I didn't want to be there, I didn't want to pretend, I was tired. I was near the big crystal door that led to the garden, I could easily go out and not come back.
I would still be the bad guy at the end of the story.
I was about to leave without looking back when her sweet voice stopped my actions and made my heart skip a beat.
—Are you leaving? Yuki, I.... I don't want this to end.— I turned around so I could see her face. She wasn't lying.—I made a mistake by letting you go without letting you give an explanation.

— It's ok Yuki, the boys have explained it to me.— She interrupted me by pointing to a corner of the room from where the boys greeted me. I was so immersed in my misery that I hadn't noticed that they were there—. You were so suspicious about something that I had a lot of doubts, I was afraid too. I certainly didn't want to believe you were fooling me, I know you're not like that, but my suspicions combined with Gasly's text... A story formed in my head and I didn't want to see reasons. Because of my mistrust I lost a month of having you by my side. I lov...— I approached her, cutting her words with a kiss.
It didn't matter, she was coming back to me. To the place where she always belonged. I held on to her as tightly as possible until she pulled away from me in embarrassment because of the loud screams of the boys that filled the place in silence.

━━━━━━━ YUKI WASN'T HAPPY with how the Canadian Grand Prix ended, but at least he was on his way home, which was all that mattered. He knew you would be home when he touched down, and he'd be touching down in the evening.
He would drive himself home, but he knew you'd be waiting for him there, his favorite dish cooked for him and a bath ready to be ran for him. You catered to his every need when he got home, ready to drop any and everything for him.
It's not like you really had much to worry about, you worked from home. That also made traveling with your boyfriend much easier, being able to hold your entire job on one laptop.
Yuki was right, as soon as he pulled the front door open, the smell of his favorite dish wafted through the air. He was home, and he was safe. He left his work behind him, on the front doorstep. He was home, he didn't have a facade to live up to anymore.
You still stood in the kitchen, dishing out two plates of food when he walked into the kitchen. You faced him, smiling before setting everything down and walking over to him. Wrapping your arms around him, and feeling his around you after so long, was the most relieving part.
"Are you hungry, Yuki?" Your voice was soft, nothing more than a careful whisper. He tiredly nodded, sitting down across from you at the dining room table. You smiled as he ate, he always loved this part of your guys' tradition.
"Should I run us a bath today or tomorrow?" Your hand reached his, tucking into it from where you sat. Yuki was finishing up his meal, drinking most of the cup of water you'd set out for him.
"Tomorrow. I showered before getting on the plane, I want to sleep." He complained, rubbing at his drowsy eyes. You smiled, taking care of both of your plates. It was a matter for tomorrow to wash them, so you pulled Yuki into your guys' bedroom.
You'd made the bed earlier, the windows were pulled open, sheer curtains waving in the moonlight breeze. Yuki and you changed into pajamas, joining each other under the blankets. It was warmer beneath them, and it was also warmer in his arms. But tonight was about Yuki. So, you gathered his head into your chest, and pushed your fingers through his hair.
As they moved through his hair, they scratched against his scalp, which effectively put him to sleep.
