highly recommend when you draw to try and draw. helps with the drawing, especially when it comes to the drawing part

New motto for my people

So Karens have: Live, laugh Love But how about something for those who need to love themselves and not worry about what others think: Do your worst, Do your best at it, Do your thing

So there's this basic art strategy that I HATE because it works, it's just fueled by cruel suffering

Draw like shit. Very shitty shitty shit! So bad that you shouldn't be caught dead drawing at that level. To the point people think you're joking and then, with a tear rolling down your face, you turn to say you aren't, but you burst into pathetic sobs instead

Lower the opacity of that layer

Start new layer

Draw the same thing again but any amount less shitty than the last time

Repeat until you at least make something presentable, or until god dies of old age

Left out some steps, but the point is that if I hadn't let myself draw so horrible at first then I wouldn't have been able to make this... and the only reason that this isn't better is because I pussied out. But at least I got to where I could be happy with it

I'm not the first person to come up with this but I feel like I'm the only one willing to show just how BAAAD a first attempt gets to be

P.S. Now you have to reblog with you're own attempt. Doesn't matter if you aren't an artist. Krita and ms paint are free. You will learn. You no longer have a choice in the matter

Picrew spam

I have been using picrew for a lot of art motivation while listening to Commedians in cars getting coffee. I’ve got themes.

I made my bf and my ocs as best as I could. I could only honestly get my oc right. It’s a great art motivation tool that doesn’t involve ai. I’m also making a few more adjustments to make my oc less messy.

Not to say I also didn’t use bing to start it off tho. I am a hypocrite but picrew definitely helps on motivation more.

I hope one of them puts creativity into a commission option of bland pfps. Literally hope they all get love for their art.

to the artists who feel bad because they are not getting a lot of attention online

I know you are hurting. It feels bad not getting recognized for your work. but listen: Art isn't about being popular art is about creating. Some of the greatest artists in history only got recognized for their brilliance long after they died. They were not recognized at the time for various reasons, but know that being trendy isn't what makes you a good artist.

make art because you love to create, not because you like the attention you get from appeasing a crowd. If everyone made art that only exists to be trendy or attract a crowd, we wouldn't have anything unique in this world.

You don't need anyone's approval for the stories you write and the art you create. But it's also absolutely valid to want some approval from your audience. Kudos and likes don't determine your creation's worth. But it just feels amazing to receive them.
