Overwatch Recalled: Zarya

Why did Zarya join Overwatch?

So, on my post about a possible animated short featuring Rein, Brig, Torb, and Bastion, I mentioned making a post about Zarya. So this is that post!

In the behind the scenes of OW2 at Blizzconline, we get to see a lot, including images of work in progress animated shorts and cutscenes. In a bunch of these clips are rough drawing with only a few fully animated parts, but with these rough drawings, you can learn a lot. While going through these clips I found a bunch that has a character that I am sure is Zarya. She is mostly drawn in pink lines (which make sense since her hair is pink) and all of the clips she is in is with the Recalled Overwatch. 

When I saw this I was like, “Oh cool! Zarya’s in Overwatch!” but then I was like, “Wait why is Zarya in Overwatch?” So I’ve put some thought into it and I think I have a good idea of why she joined Overwatch. 

When I started, the 1st thing I did was reread the Zarya and Sombra comic, Searching. The TLDR for the comic is that it is after the Infiltration animated short, Katya Volskaya sends Zarya to find Sombra with an Omnic named Lynx Seventeen, they find Sombra, Sombra tells Zarya about her deal with Volskaya and hacks Lynx. Sombra gets away and Zarya saves Lynx. 

So, by the end of the comic Zarya doesn’t like Volskaya, but isn’t going to say anything, based off of her interaction with Lynx she is slowly moving away from the idea of hating all/most Omnics, and she is mad at Sombra. So, I think she is going to end up joining Overwatch since she is mad at Talon and Volskaya probably doesn’t trust her as much. I think this will be really good for her character development because she will need to work with two, maybe three, Omnics, Echo, Bastion, and hopefully Orisa.  

Anyways, TLDR: Zarya is going to join the Recalled Overwatch to fight Talon. She will also have good character development due to her working with Omnics. 

Overwatch Recalled: D.Va

Ok, so, I think I’m going to be making a series out of character who are joining the Recalled Overwatch in Overwatch 2 based off of information from Blizzconline. I would have done this as the first one, but after talking about Zarya in my Rein/Brig/Bastion animated short post, I wanted to do her post first. Anyways, D.Va!!!

Hana Song a.k.a. D.Va is a member of MEKA, the Mobile Exo-force of the Korean Army, which is a specifically created military group for fighting the Gwishin Colossus Omnics that will emerge from the East China Sea and attack South Korea. I think that this is really important because D.Va has an important role in protecting South Korea, being the only member of MEKA who has single-handedly taken down Gwishin Omnics, so I found it surprising that she would have joined the Recalled Overwatch so quickly. 

I knew that it was going to happen eventually, but I thought it would be a situation like I think Symmetra will be in. I thought that Korea would be attacked by either the Gwishin or maybe Talon, MEKA is called in to fight them, Overwatch shows up and asks them to join, Lucio would probably be key in inviting them since I think that they would already have an established relationship due to celebrity status, but Korea needs the MEKA pilots, so they decide that D.Va joins Overwatch and the rest of the pilots stay in Korea. 

But, since D.Va is already confirmed to be a part of the Recalled Overwatch I think that she asked to join when seeing what Overwatch was doing. I would assume that she would contact Lucio to ask if she could join, he would say yes, then she would meet up with them in Toronto, Canada which is going to be a place where I’, pretty sure one of the animated shorts is going to be, or a cutscene. 

Anyways, eventually I am going to make a post talking about the rest of the MEKA squad and Dae-hyun Park, but the next post will probably be about either Pharah and Baptiste joining the Recalled Overwatch. 

TLDR: I think D.Va will be either invited to join Overwatch or will ask to join Overwatch. If she is invited, it will probably be after fighting by their side during an attack in South Korea. If she does ask to join, she will probably contact Lucio about it and then meet up with them in Toronto. 

Overwatch Recalled: Baptiste

Alright, so I was going to chose between Pharah and Baptiste, and after flipping a coin, Baptiste was chosen.

Jean-Baptiste Augustin, as well as being an incredibly competent combat medic, is also known as a marksman. He was born in Tortuga, Haiti and grew up in Port de-Paix with his friend, Roseline Mondésir. Their childhood dream was to open up a medical clinic, which we learn that Roseline did. He also grew up inspired by the original Overwatch and wanted to join before it disbanded. Eventually, Baptiste join the Caribbean Coalition, the Haitian military, and after that he join the mercenaries of Talon. He left Talon after a mission gone wrong in Monte Cristi. 

We also learn in his book, What you left behind by Alyssa Wong, that after he left Talon he traveled around a lot, avoiding them. But in the book, Baptiste is found by Mauga and Nguyen, two Talon agents, who get him to help them try to kill a pharmaceutical company CEO, Vernand Sainclair. Baptiste goes with them and is told by Sainclair about the Recall message. Baptiste, instead of killing Sainclair, takes him to a spot where Roseline can find him and makes him promise to give her free medical supplies. Then he takes the list of ex-Overwatch agents. 

This is all important because in the end of the story, Baptiste is going to get the help of Sombra to contact Mercy. This is how I think Baptiste got into Overwatch because he had already known Mercy from working with her in Venezuela. So, I think he will warn her that Talon might know about ex-Overwatch members. Then, I would guess that she asks him to join the Recalled Overwatch and he would say yes because he looked up to Overwatch when he was younger. 

TLDR: I think that Baptiste was able to get into contact with Mercy through Sombra. Mercy and Baptiste knew each other because they had worked together in Venezuela. Once they were in contact with one another, Baptiste warned Mercy about Talon, then she asked him to join Overwatch. 

Overwatch 2 Maps: Rome!

So, as well as talking about who is going to join the Recalled Overwatch and possible new characters(eventually), I also want to talk about maps we know about and new maps I want. So, this is about Rome. 

The thing about Rome is that we should have had it on our radar for possible maps and from what I saw before Blizzconline it wasn’t on anyone’s radar. I’m saying this because it has been mentioned before. While reading What you left behind by Alyssa Wong for my post about Baptiste, one line really caught my eye. 

“What are you doing here?” Baptiste said quietly... “Well, as you can see, I’m enjoying the sun and fresh ocean breeze,” said Mauga. “It reminds me of home. Talon HQ is so dreary; it’s nice to get out of Rome every now and again.” (Wong, Page 6). 

This quote blatantly states that Talon has an HQ in ROME, the new map! It is important because it means that, this map, which we have only gotten glimpses of, may be the Talon HQ map!! We have gotten several maps that are Overwatch base maps, like Watchpoint: Gibraltar or Ecopoint: Antarctica, but no Talon base map. This also makes me really excited because it might mean that we may get more Talon characters since it is a Talon map. I think this might happen because of Kanezaka being added and the Kanezaka Fox girl hints, check out Master Ian Gamer’s YouTube video on this theory. 

Anyways, I’m really happy about Rome being added and that it will probably be a Talon HQ map. In the future, once I get through some of the post ideas I’ve already written down, I’ll make a couple posts about possible Talon characters. Also go check out Master Ian Gamer on YouTube, he covers everything Overwatch and is just a really great content creator especially if you like the lore of Overwatch. 

So, TLDR: Rome should have been on everyone’s radar for possible new maps since we know from Baptiste’s short story that Rome is Talon HQ and based off of things in Kanezaka, we might get new Talon characters in OW2. 

Overwatch Recalled: Pharah

Fareeha Amari a.k.a. Pharah is the daughter of Ana Amari, former Second-in-Command of the original Overwatch, and Sam Amari. Pharah was a member of the Egyptian Army and is now a member of Helix Security International and uses the Raptora Mark VI in battle. 

Since she was the daughter of the Second-in-Command of Overwatch, she wanted to join them when she was able, similarly like Baptiste, but they were disbanded before she could. So, she would most certainly have a reason to join the Recalled Overwatch and she might have received the message herself. Most of the world believed Ana is dead, other than a few, so that means Pharah, or her father Sam, might have been given the device that had the recall message. Depending if she had it or not, then either she joined because she got the message and answered it in Ana’s place or because she was invited by someone else. 

Pharah knew most of the original Overwatch including Mercy, McCree, Rein, Jack Morrison(Soldier 76), Gabriel Reyes(Reaper), Torb, and Sojourn. I would also assume that she knows Genji, Tracer, and Brigitte. The only people I don’t think she really knows are Mei, Echo, and Lucio. So, she was probably invited by Mercy, Rein, Brig, Genji, or Tracer. I don’t think that Sojourn or Torb would have invited her since neither of them immediately answered the recall message. McCree also could have told her since they seemed to be close based off of photos and game interactions. 

Anyways, the next posts are gonna be about why I think McCree is joining the Recalled Overwatch and about what might be going on in NYC that would make it important to the lore. 

TLDR: Pharah was obviously going to join the Recalled Overwatch. She either responded to Ana’s recall message since the world thinks Ana is dead or she was invited to join the recalled Overwatch, by probably Mercy or Reinhardt in my opinion.

Overwatch 2 Maps: New York City

When NYC was announced to be a map in OW2 I was SUPER excited. I, myself, was not born in New York, but most of my family, on both of my parent’s sides, is from different places in New York state. We don’t know to much about NYC when talking about the lore of Overwatch, but I have some theories.

Theory 1: NYC has a something similar to London’s Underworld. The Underworld is a city found beneath London where most of London’s Omnic population lives. Having a place like this in NYC would be a good way to add more Omnic character’s into the game, either as playable characters or NPCs. 

Theory 2: Overwatch has a base in NYC. While going over all of the images the OW Devs. showed us during the Behind the Scenes of OW2, I found concept art for a tower in Manhattan. It gives me Stark Tower/Avengers Tower vibes, so I feel like having this be an old Overwatch base would be really cool. 

Theory 3: NYC is where a new character is going to be from. I feel like this is more of me getting my hopes up, I just REALLY want a character from New York that is like a Tony Stark type. I think having a character that kind of fits into the Tony Stark architype would make it easy for the OW Devs. to make another cool Tank character, or maybe a support with really advanced cool armor. 

Anyways, after I make a post about McCree actually joining the Recalled Overwatch, I’m going to make a post about Gothenburg, Sweden, the map where Torbjorn’s workshop will be and the extension to Kings Row and what other maps might get extensions. 

TLDR: NYC might have been added to have to: have another map with an Underworld for Omnics which might mean we get more Omnic characters, there might be an old Overwatch base in NYC (image above), or a new character might be from NYC, hopefully someone that gives Tony Stark vibes, and hopefully a tank. 

Overwatch Recalled: McCree

Jesse McCree is an ex-Blackwatch agent, former member of the Deadlock Gang with Ashe, and is currently a bounty hunter. Due to him being a Blackwatch member, the special operation division of Overwatch, he received the recall message. After the message was sent out, McCree learned the Echo was being transported from Hurlburt Field to the Davis–Monthan Air Force Base. Although, I’m not totally sure how McCree tracked Echo, but he was able to. He anonymously tipped off Deadlock, knowing Ashe would show up, so he could get to the crate Echo would be in. After he beat Ashe in a standoff, he then opened and reactivated Echo. He told Echo about the recall message and told her where to go meet up with them, saying that they needed her not him, then told her to say hi to Winston from him. 

And that was the last we saw of the cowboy before Blizzconline. During the Story Development part of Blizzconline, we get to see a lot of storyboards and some fully animated scenes. In both of the storyboards and animated scenes, McCree shows up in a lot of them with the Recalled Overwatch. So, I’m going to talk about McCree rejoining Overwatch.

Even though McCree is portrayed as more of an antihero, he is still a good person and I feel like it was pretty obvious that, although he said that Overwatch didn’t need him, he was still going to join. So, the question is, how did he join, I got some theories.

Theory 1: After Zero Hour, Echo might have contacted McCree and asked him to join and I think that this is probably the most likely theory, but he could have got into contact with Echo after the Paris attack, to make sure she was okay and then he got invited to join. 

Theory 2: Genji asked McCree to join. They were in Blackwatch together, and I’m assuming that they are close. So I feel like other than Winston asking McCree to join like he did for every ex-Overwatch agent and Echo asking him to join since he reactivate her, this would be the next likely theory about it. 

Theory 3: Pharah, Mercy, or Reinhardt asked McCree to join. Other than Genji, Gabe, and Ana, these three were close with McCree during his Blackwatch(Overwatch) days. Out of all of them I think that Pharah would be the most likely, then Rein, then Mercy, because he was kind of like an older brother figure for her based off of some of their matching sprays and game voice-interactions. 

Anyways, next, I’m going to make a post about Gothenburg, Sweden, the map where Torbjorn’s workshop will be and the extension to Kings Row and what other maps might get extensions.

TLDR: McCree will be joining the Recalled Overwatch. Some reasons might be include - Echo got back into contact with him after Zero Hour and asked him to join; Genji asked McCree to join; Pharah, Mercy, or Reinhardt asked McCree to join. And I gotta say, I think the photo of McCree, Echo, and Pharah is really funny.

Overwatch 2 Maps: Gothenburg, Sweden

Gothenburg, Sweden is the home to Torbjorn and Brigitte Lindholm. It was first announced at Blizzcon 2019, then we were shown more of it in Blizzconline. In 2019, we were told that it was going to be an Assault map / 2CP map, but after Blizzconline, we can’t be so sure. In Blizzconline, Jeff Kaplan mentioned that 2CP will probably not be in Overwatch 2. Since Gothenburg was going to be 2CP, it might be 2CP or it might not, so I’m going to talk about what I think the map will be. 

I think it will be Hybrid and I got evidence to prove my case. 

So, I think that this is will be Point A. It is a flat rectangular area that is similarly shaped to other first points on Hybrid maps, it may be a little too long, but it looks about right in my opinion. There is a garage door in the back middle of the room that players could go through to get to the payload which I think may be the yellow truck in the next photo.  

In this last photo, you can see the roads that have the train track on them. I would assume that that is what the payload moves on. If you look you can see that the track splits off into two ways, so I think that Gothenburg will have a similar mechanic that the New Kings Row will have where the payload can go two different directions. 

Anyways, after I make my post about Kings Row Extensions and other existing maps that might get extensions, I’m going to talk about Sojourn and her relationships with the old guard of Overwatch.

TLDR: I think that Gothenburg will be a Hybrid map where first point starts inside of Torbjorn’s workshop, then moves you outside in the streets of Gothenburg.  

Overwatch 2 Maps: Kings Row, London and other extended maps

Kings Row, London, one of players favorite hybrid maps and the location of the Uprising Event, is going to be getting an extension in Overwatch 2! I’m really excited because they also mentioned that other maps will be getting extension and while the Kings Row extension is cool and all, there are other maps that I think need it more, so this post is going to be about that.

Numbani, Africa: I think Numbani should be given an extension because out of all of the hybrid maps, I think it is one of the least fun to play, so adding an extra area would be really cool. I’m not sure where the extra section would be added on, maybe close to the second attackers spawn. 

Eichenwalde, Germany: Even though Eichenwalde is a really good map, and I feel like a lot of people like it, I think showing us more of the castle would be really cool. Currently, the payload goes down the yellow path, and I think that the payload should also be able to go down the the pink path. 

Dorado, Mexico: I like Dorado a lot and think that it should be extended because it is one of the best looking maps, in my opinion. So, I think that adding another area would be cool.  Currently, the payload goes down the yellow path, and I think that the payload should also be able to go down the the pink path.

I also think that NYC and Gothenburg will be around the same sizes as current maps that get extensions, based off of how large they look from what we saw during Blizzconline.  

Anyways, I think that the next post I’m going to make is going to be about Sojourn and her relationships with the old guard of Overwatch. 

TLDR: I really like the Kings Row map extensions and I think that some other escort/hybrid maps should get extensions like Numbani, Eichenwalde, and Dorado. I also think that NYC and Gothenburg will be bigger compared to some current maps based off of what we saw in Blizzconline. 

Overwatch Recalled: Sojourn

Sojourn is going to be added to Overwatch 2. So, today, I’m going to go over information we know about her and what I think her relationships will be like with the Recalled Overwatch. 

Sojourn was an Overwatch captain that joined during the organizations Golden Years. After Doomfist escaped prison, she was the person who directed Jack Morrison to change tactics, focusing on arresting Maximilian. She assigned Tracer, Mercy, Winston, and Genji on the Storm Rising mission and commanded them via a radio channel. After Overwatch was disbanded, she laid low in Canada, presumably Toronto. She received the recalled message and will be meeting up with the Recalled Overwatch. 

Overwatch Old Guard: Based off all of that we know that she knows Winston, Tracer, Reinhardt, McCree, Genji, and Mercy since they would all be considered part of the old guard. I think that she is really close with Winston, there is a clip from Blizzconline that shows her hugging Winston, I also think that she was close with Mercy, but not as close as Winston. I would also think that she has kind of a strict older-sister vibe with Tracer, McCree, and Genji since I’m assuming since she is older than all of them, out of the three of them McCree is probably the closest to her in age. Then, I think she has a rivalry with Reinhardt or they have very different strategies ways off thinking because when looking at some Blizzconline clips it looks like she is scolding him. 

 Overwatch but not totally old guard: I’m not totally sure if Sojourn ever met Mei, Brigitte, and Pharah, but she might have. I feel like she would get along well with both Brigitte and Pharah based off of photos and from what we have seen in Blizzconline. I would assume that her and Mei would get along, but I feel like it would take a while for them to get close since Mei is pretty shy. 

Overwatch New Guard: Sojourn hasn’t met any of the new guard, unless you consider her most likely knowing Dr. Liao who is kind of Echo. So, I think that Sojourn would get along with Echo, maybe she would be a little sad since Echo reminds her of Dr. Liao. I feel like she would get along fine with Lucio and D.Va, she probably wouldn’t be super close with them since they are a lot younger than her. I think that she wouldn’t have much of a relationship with Zarya at first, I think that most of the characters won’t get along with Zarya for a while at least, but I think that they will still respect each other. Finally, I think that Sojourn and Baptiste would get along well, I feel like most of Overwatch would get along well with Baptiste based off voice interactions. 

Anyways, next, I think that I’ll speculate on why Talon will be attacking/going after Zenyatta at the new India map and why they might be doing that. 

TLDR: I think that Sojourn will get along well with a lot of the Recalled Overwatch, with more deep connections with the Old Guard. 

Overwatch/OW2 Theories: Why is Talon attacking Zenyatta?

Alright! During the story development segment of Behind of Scenes of Overwatch 2, during Day 1 Blizzconline, we got to see a lot of stuff regarding lore like looks at Sojourn, clips from a few possible animated shorts, and looks at cutscenes that will show up in Story Missions. So, today, I’m going to be talking about what will most likely be a cutscene during a story mission, but it might be a animated short, Zenyatta and Genji, and hopefully Pharah and Zarya vs. Talon (I have a reason for Pharah and Zarya to be included on this list, just listen). 

The Basics: We know that Talon will be attacking Zenyatta and Genji at the temple at the new Indian map. Widowmaker and Sombra show up with group of Talon foot soldiers. Zenyatta and Genji seems to be cornered, surrounded by a pond. 

Now to get into some theories.

Why is Talon there: One of the important things that I stated early is that Sombra and Zenyatta are there. I saw this on someone else’s post, I’ll link that post if I can find it but I can’t promise anything, they pulled up some older Null Sector concept art; it was from Blizzcon 2019, can’t believe that was almost two years ago jeez. Anyways, the one character I highlighted is drawn a lot differently compared to some of the other Null Sector bots, but it looks a lot like the Shambali Omnics, Zenyatta and Mondatta. Mondatta was the Omnic diplomat that was assassinated by Widowmaker. 

So, the theory is that Talon is actually working with Null Sector to stage an uprising and they are trying to kidnap Zenyatta to brainwash/reprogram him because he is proponent of peace between humans and Omnics. The way that they would do that easily would be to hack Zenyatta which we know Sombra can do based off of the Searching comic, she hacked Lynx Seventeen. OR  Talon is there to assassinate Zenyatta like they did to Mondatta, but I like the kidnap theory more, I think that would create a lot of tension. 

Why would Zarya and Pharah be there: So, I think that Zarya and Pharah will travel with Genji from either Paris of Toronto, depending on when Pharah and Zarya join the Recalled Overwatch, to the new Indian map to meet up with Zenyatta. I think they would go meet Zenyatta to ask him to join the Recalled Overwatch. Also, we see gameplay of a story mission in the Indian map with Genji, Zenyatta, Zarya, and Pharah having health bars on the side of the screen.

Anyways, I think I’ll talk about if I think Soldier 76 or Hanzo will join the Recalled Overwatch next, or I might talk about the Junkers or I might talk about what map type I think Rio de Janeiro is going to be. But I will be posting master list of my post so it is easier to find them because I think having that would not just be good for anyone who sees my theories but it makes it easier for me to go back to older posts I made.

TLDR: Talon is going to attack Genji and Zenyatta at the new Indian map to either kidnap and brainwash Zenyatta or kill him. Also, Pharah and Zarya will probably go with Genji to meet up with Zenyatta to ask him to join the Recalled Overwatch.  

Overwatch 2 Maps: Rio de Janeiro

Even though only three maps were officially introduced, NYC, Rome, and an unnamed Indian map, we got several glimpses at Toronto and Gothenburg which were introduced in 2019, and we got more looks at Rio de Janeiro.  So, today, I’m going to talk about what type of PVP map it might be, if it isn’t just a PVE map.

The three map types I think it might be are Control, Escort, or Hybrid.

Control: Out of the three types of maps, I think this is the least likely, like this just based off of one image while the other two types have several images to back them up. The only way that this could be control would be if Lucio’s turntable and the surrounding area is the control point that you have to capture. The things is, all the other pictures I got for this post goes against this theory because the map is really big, like most of the map looks like it is streets which would make sense for it being a map that has a payload. 

Escort/Hybrid: Since a lot of Rio’s terrain is city with outlined streets, apartments, and restaurants, I think that it lends itself to being a Escort or Hybrid. Personally I want it to be a hybrid where you start where Lucio’s turntable is, and the payload comes out from underneath, you follow a track that goes up to the streets phase of the map and you end up by the beach or by the Estádio das Rãs (which I learned translates to Frog’s Stadium and it kind of made my day).  

Anyway, I don’t know if I’ll post again today, I’ve been really busy in the past few days, but if I do I’ll either go over if I think Soldier 76 is going to join the Recalled Overwatch or I’ll speculate about what the Junkers might be doing. 

TLDR: If Rio de Janeiro is a PVP map, I think it will be either a Escort of Hybrid with a slight possibility of it being Control.

Overwatch Recalled: Soldier 76

Jack Morrison a.k.a. Soldier 76 became a vigilante after Overwatch was disbanded and when he was injured in the Swiss HQ explosion. He was a soldier in the US military before becoming the commander of Overwatch with his second being Ana Amari.  The question is, will he stop his vigilante work to join the Recalled Overwatch? There are three possibilities in my mind, he joins, he doesn’t, or he helps them out with a few missions but doesn’t officially work for them. So, I’m going to go over what I think will happen depending on what he chooses. 

If he joins: I think he would join because of guilt. He would feel bad about not telling Reinhardt, Sojourn, and maybe McCree. I would assume that he was attacking somewhere, a Talon base, and Overwatch had the same plan when they met. It would be pretty emotional, especially for Rein, Sojourn, Pharah, and possibly Jesse. If he joins, Ana will probably also join since they were traveling together. 

If he doesn’t join: We will probably get more content of him traveling around with Ana. I think it would be interesting to see an animated short about Ana, Soldier 76, and Reaper. 

If he works with them (inconsistently): Mercy probably asked him and Ana to help because they were all in the area. Most of the Recalled Overwatch begs him and Ana to join, but they don’t want to because they feel like they would mess it up again. They don’t want to help, but they don’t want to really be part of the Recalled Overwatch, so they be like backup if Overwatch needs it. 

Personally, I think him and Ana will keep traveling around, maybe help out on one or two missions but they wouldn’t become official members. 

Anyways, I’m going to try to post again today, a post about Junkrat and Roadhog that I started to work on early in the morning. In the next few days, I’m going to post about what skins I want for the 2021 Archives Event. 

TLDR: I think there are three possibilities when it comes to Soldier 76 joining the Recalled Overwatch. One, he would join because he feels guilty for not telling close friends he was alive. Two, he doesn’t join and we get more Ana and Soldier 76 vs. Reaper content. Three, him and Ana act as backup for Overwatch. 

Overwatch Recalled: Junkrat and Roadhog

Just to let anyone reading this know, I’ve been pretty busy in the past few days, so this is going to be a shorter post than I want it to be. Sorry! ~ Nova

Junkrat, Jamison Fawkes, and Roadhog, Mako Rutledge, are Overwatch’s dynamics duo. They’re kind of their own group, not being aligned with Overwatch, Talon, Null Sector, or any other large military like groups. They’re thieves, murderers, and arsonist who have traveled from Sydney to Kings Row. They were kicked out of Junkertown and both have bad relationships with the Junker Queen, so I doubt they’ll be let back in. That brings up the question, will Junkrat and Roadhog join any groups or keep doing whatever they want? 

I don’t think they will join ANY of these groups. Let me explain.

Overwatch: I think that only way that they would join Overwatch is if they get saved by Overwatch and have to work with them to pay them back, which I like the idea of because I want D.Va, Lucio, and Junkrat interactions, but it probably won’t happen. Overwatch is like a bunch of superheroes while Junkrat and Roadhog are like the comic relief supervillain duo. 

Talon: Out of the three groups, I’m going to talk about, I think Talon is the most likely they would join. The problem is, if they were in Talon, they wouldn’t be able to any big robberies. Based off of the stuff we’ve seen before, Junkrat and Roadhog like to make a show out of what they do, so I feel like they wouldn’t like it (Junkrat in particular). They might do some trades with Talon, like jewels for money etc. but I don’t think that they would be willing to join Talon. 

Null Sector: BIG NO!!!! Even though they are extremely violent, they’re Omnics which Roadhog and Junkrat hate, we know this because of some of their voice lines. One of Junkrat’s kill quotes, if he kill a Bastion, Orisa, or Zenyatta, is, “Oooo… back to the scrapheap.” 

Sticking Together: This is what I think is going to happen, all of the reasons for them joining the other groups have counters, while having them sticking together really doesn’t. I think that it would also be great to see them try to get into Junkertown again and get us all a Junkrat, Roadhog, Wrecking Ball, and Junker Queen scene. It would be funny and an awesome way to introduce Junker Queen into the Overwatch 2 hero roster, but that’s a post for another day. 

Anyways, I think the next post I’ll make is about what skins I want in the 2021 Archives event or a post about an idea I came up with thanks to a post by @mulberrybambi about Maximillian.

TLDR: I don’t think Junkrat and Roadhog will join any of the large groups. I’ll rank least to most likely groups that the Junkers will join: Null Sector, Overwatch, Talon, sticking together, but I do think they will meet up with Wrecking Ball eventually.   

Overwatch 2 Maps: Monte Carlo, Monaco

During Blizzcon 2019, we learned about a couple of maps including Toronto, Canada, Gothenburg, Sweden, Rio de Janeiro, and Monte Carlo, Monaco. I’ve made posts about all of these maps except Toronto and Monte Carlo. Currently, I can’t come up with any theories that involve Toronto, but I came up with one that has to do with characters that are linked with Monte Carlo. So, this post isn’t exactly a theory, it’s more of an overview about what the place is like in real life and what the map is going to be like. This will help me explain an theory I have planned for the near future. 

The Real Life Place: Monte Carlo, Monaco is at the base of the Maritime Alps and along the French Riviera. This places it close to the borders of both France and Italy with the main language spoken being French. It is known for several things including: how rich it is, the Formula Grand Prix event, their casino’s, and the beaches. 

In the Game, based on images: It is an escort map. The payload is designed to look like a blue race car that follows a road through a city that is close to a river. We know that there is one casino that you can get into which I think will be a spawn room and another spawn room will be a mechanics shop. In the area we know will be a spawn room, you can see a yellow race car that is being fixed or having its tires changed. 

In the Game, based on other parts of the lore: Maximillian owns a casino called Casino Monaco. It is used as his base of operations, we learned this in the Masquerade comic book. 

Anyways, I’m almost done with my masterlists, so those will be posted in like half an hour - 45 minutes. I’ll be posting about the Mystery Omnic from Storm Rising and eventually the MEKA Squad. 

TLDR: Monte Carlo, Monaco will be an escort map with city/streets terrain. The payload will be blue race car. Two buildings we know that will be in the map are Maximillian’s casino and a race car mechanics’ shop that is a spawn room.

Overwatch/OW2 Theories: Fio

I am writing this while waiting for my Nintendo Switch to update so I can play Overwatch. That’s why it’s pretty short, but it wasn’t going to be that long either. Hope you all are as excited about the Roadhog skin as I am. Although I play D.Va a lot more than any other hero, I am a tank main with D.Va, Wrecking Ball, and Roadhog being some of my most played heros. ~ Nova

Alright, back on topic! Since Archives are coming up in a couple weeks, I was thinking about what I could talking about before it started. I came up the my theory on the Mystery Storm Rising Omnic(link), I wrote about what skins I wanted(link), so this theory is going to be about Retribution, my favorite game mode. The first thing that came to my mind was Fio. So, I’m going to go over what we know about her and I’m going to theorize about what role she might play in the future, if she plays any at all. 

Basics: Fio is a former Blackwatch pilot who was deployed to pick up Gabriel Reyes, Jesse McCree, Genji Shimada, and Moira O'Deorain in Rialto during the Venice Incident(which is the Retribution game mode). I’m not exactly sure who her voice actress is, it might be Echo’s voice actress, Jeannie Bolet. If you want to listen to her from Retribution, here is the link, her first lines are at 4:25.  

Overwatch Theory: Since we know Fio was a pilot, after Blackwatch and Overwatch disbanded, she probably joined the Air Force of the country she is from (maybe the USA? I’m not sure). Eventually, she would have gotten the recall message. We know that she didn’t respond to it like Tracer, Mei, or Reinhardt and Brigitte, but it would be cool if she showed up. It would me interesting to see her interactions with McCree and Genji.

Talon Theory: We know from Baptiste’s short story, What you Left Behind, that some ex-Overwatch/ex-Blackwatch member joined Talon after the groups were disbanded, some examples are people like Moira and Gabriel Reyes/Reaper. So, it is possible that Fio joined Talon. During Blizzconline, the Overwatch Devs. mentioned that we might get to play as Talon characters during hero missions, so they might have Fio as the pilot that drops them off wherever they need to go.  

Anyways, I got a lot more done yesterday than I thought I was going to, so I might just not post tomorrow. I think that I’m going to start theorizing about possible new characters and new maps, but I am going to make a post about ideas for future mini events/character challenges since Roadhog just got one. 

TLDR: Fio was the Blackwatch pilot that saved Reyes, McCree, Genji, and Moira. After Overwatch/Blackwatch disbanded, there are two main options of what would have happened to Fio. One, she joined the Air Force of her country, then she eventually shows up to help the Recalled Overwatch. Two, she joined Talon and acts as a pilot for Talon themed hero missions.

Overwatch 2 Maps: Berlin

Like I mentioned on my post about Future Character Challenges, I wanted to post about maps that they developers didn’t actually add to the game. So, this post, like the name suggest, is about Berlin, Germany. A couple years ago, I actually lived Frankfurt, Germany, so when I was looking through the Overwatch Wiki I got really excited about having Berlin as a map. So, I’m going to talk about the real world place and about what it would be like as an Overwatch 2 map. 

Real World Berlin: Berlin, Germany is the capital and largest city in Germany is located by the River Spree. It has a multimillion population. One of the most known things about Berlin is that it was divided into East and West Berlin due to the Cold War. The Berlin Wall was taken down in November, 1989. It is a city that is mainly flat, but has woods in some parts. 

Berlin in Overwatch: On the Overwatch Wiki, Berlin is listed as being an Attack/Defend map which I am assuming is 2CP. We know that 2CP is probably not going to be in Overwatch 2, so I would say that, if it was added it would be Hybrid or Control. We know that it will be an urban environment and it will be overgrown, based off of one concept art image. Then, the wiki states that Berlin was on the highest alert level during the Omnic Crisis. 

Anyways, I’m going to make a post about a possible future character and I’ll finally post my Overwatch/OW2 Theories Masterlist. 

TLDR: Berlin, Germany was a cut map from Overwatch. If it is going to be added to Overwatch 2, it will be an overgrown urban/city area and probably hybrid or control.

This Blog: An Update

I've really enjoyed writing on this blog and I am really glad a lot of other people also enjoy the content I create; thank you all for 50 followers! I started using this blog as an outlet of ideas I had after Blizzconline in February, and recently I have had a harder time coming up with really good ideas. Along with playing Overwatch, I do a lot of reading, so I am going to start a blog about reading.

I will still post on this blog, but I will also be talking about reading on my new blog. I have several ideas for this blog in the works including a mini theory about Wildebeest, a theory about the Kanezaka Fox Girl, a theory about Junkrat's treasure, I will go over the OWL matches once they start up again, and after Game Director Aaron Keller's update in a few days, I will go over all of that.

For my new blog, I am going to be posting about Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus/Trials of Apollo, The Grishaverse books(and show once I watch it), Agatha Christie, and a couple other of my favorite book series.
