i will remain silent, and you will too, and in our mutual solitude we will remember it all
or we will try, memories slipping through our fingers like water

the string of memories between us will fade to grey as we lose track of all the little details
yet it will hold strong between us until we ourselves fade away
and I’ll be missing you all the while
~They say the hardest goodbyes are the ones you never see coming. I couldn't disagree more with that statement. The hardest goodbyes are the ones you see coming, the ones you can't stop, the ones that are unavoidable. You can't think of a way out of them, and there's nothing you can do or say to make them stay. So, no, it's not the unseen goodbyes that hurt the worst. It's the long, foreseen, and inevitable goodbyes.~

Farewell
farewell, I bid, to my dear friend,
for you must leave us and travel afar
not soon will you be forgotten
and we wish for your return upon each star
farewell, I bid, and we love you so
and hope that you will find joy
and though no longer will you be here
we say, “form new memories that you enjoy.”

and disappear over the skyline
may you find good friends in your home afar
